Guru lauds Amaarae for performing songs of other artistes at Coachella 2025

Rapper Guru has heaped praise on American-Ghanaian singer, Amaarae for her groundbreaking solo performance at Coachella 2025, describing it as a defining moment for Ghanaian music on the global stage.

He said Amaarae’s appearance at the world-renowned music festival was more than a musical showcase—it was a patriotic gesture that raised Ghana’s flag high through art and culture.

“I was so happy hearing her sing other people’s songs. That was powerful. She wasn’t selfish; she gave others visibility and traction,” he added.

Guru further applauded Amaarae for giving visibility to fellow Ghanaian artistes, including the La Même Gang, Yaw Tog, Eazzy, and the Asakaa Boys, through her performance.

“She really did well. We needed a clear representation of Ghana on such a global platform, and Amaarae delivered exactly that. Her presence, her words, her sound—it was all about bridging the gap between Ghana and the international world,” he said.

He also highlighted Amaarae’s strategic brand approach, noting that although her style may appear unconventional to the local audience, it effectively connects with the global market.

Guru called on Ghanaians to rally behind Amaarae, describing her as a vital link between the local music industry and the international scene.
