President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to embrace compassion and selflessness as the path to national recovery, urging citizens to make sacrifices for one another in these difficult times.
Speaking at the Good Friday Miracle Service hosted by Lighthouse Chapel International at the Black Star Square, Mr. Mahama said Ghana’s journey to restoration depends on unity, truth, and collective action.
He challenged both Christians and people of all faiths to extend kindness to the less privileged.
“There are many around us who are struggling, not just spiritually, but also physically. Some are struggling emotionally, and some are struggling materially, and that’s why Christ expects us to share generously. There are others too who have abundant—you ate breakfast, you ate lunch before coming here, and you go back home, and there’s fufu and light soup and aponkye waiting for you. We must learn to share the burdens of others, and so as we reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us, let us ask ourselves, what sacrifices are we making for others?”
Mahama’s message was also one of optimism, as he expressed unwavering faith in the nation’s ability to bounce back.
“I believe with all my heart that our dear nation, Ghana, shall rise again. Our economy shall recover. Our youth will find opportunity, our families will flourish and thrive. But that restoration will require that all of us work together in unity and in truth. That will make our nation rise again in,” he declared.
