Menzgold, NAM1 go on Wikipedia

CEO of gold dealership firm, Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, known as NAM1 by many, has been featured on free online encyclopedia, Wikipedia as a Ghanaian businessman and Chief Executive of Zylofon Media.

The web-based encyclopedia gives an overview of the recent Menzgold saga, including the warrant issued by an Accra Circuit Court for his immediate arrest, as well as, his wife Rose Tetteh, sister, Benedicta Appiah and other directors of the firm.

Menzgold Saga: A Background

The financial scandal of money laundering and fraud gained public attention in September 2018 after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) directed the firm to suspend its gold trading operations.

This was followed by a series of investigations by Bank of Ghana and Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) which observed that activities of Menzgold amounted to, among other things, “engaging in illegal deposit-taking”.

Rumours about Nana Appiah Mensah breaching bail conditions and absconding the country surfaced, when Gabby Otchere Darko made the allegation on Facebook after which an arrest warrant was issued, stating their offense as “Defrauding by false pretense contrary to section 131 of 29/60”

There has been growing anxiety and panic among customers of Menzgold in attempt to retrieve their monies from the gold firm, majority engaging in protests demanding that government intervene.

Nana Appiah Mensah (born c. 1984) popularly known as NAM1 is a Ghanaian businessman known for Menzgold, gold dealership and investment firm that promised customers a 10 percent monthly returns on their investments. NAM1 is also the Chief Executive of Zylofon Media which has signed Ghanaian musicians such as Shatta Wale and formerly Stonebwoy.

On January 9, 2019 a circuit court issued a warrant to arrest NAM1 for money laundering and fraud causing the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service to trigger an Interpol red alert.
