Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey once again put in a standout performance for Arsenal as they defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Following his strong showing in the first leg, Partey dominated the midfield at the Santiago Bernabéu, helping Arsenal secure a 5-1 aggregate win and book a spot in the semi-finals against Paris Saint-Germain.
Partey played the full 90 minutes and ended the game with a perfect pass accuracy of 100%, completing all 21 of his passes — the best on the field.
He was also solid defensively, registering three blocks, three clearances, three recoveries, one interception, and winning four of his seven ground duels.
In attack, he created one scoring opportunity, took one shot, made three passes into the final third, and completed his only dribble attempt.
With calmness and smart decision-making, Partey controlled the midfield and played a key role in slowing down Real Madrid’s play.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, Partey will miss the first leg of the semi-final due to a yellow card suspension.
