Delay, in a bid to correct Ghanaian blogger Eugene Osafo-Nkansah popularly known as ‘Nkonkonsa’ after citing a factual inaccuracy in a post about her, resuscitated his alleged encounter with Abena Korkor.
Earlier in an address to the youth at an event held in Kumasi, Delay while establishing the importance of being an independent woman said she aspires to be ‘a rich wife’ and not the ‘wife of a rich man’.
“Everybody wants to be oga wife. I’m part of the few that want to be a rich wife. There’s nothing wrong for a man to also experience a marriage in which his spouse is also rich and can support,” she stated at a youth conference in Kumasi.
Eugene, however, shared excerpts of the video where Delay made such assertions with the caption: “I have my own money; I want to be a rich wife – Delay tells future husband.”
He continued in his report saying, “Media Personality, Deloris Frimpong Manso, also known as Delay, has made it clear that she won’t in any manner depend on her future husband.
“The TV and radio presenter turned businesswoman told a group of young people at an event that she is economically secure and would never have to rely on her future husband for her upkeep or anything.”
The broadcaster who felt misquoted took to his comment section to strongly hit back.
“I said I wanted to be a rich wife. I never said I was rich, Eugene Licky licky, Lickstowel. Abena Korkor is calling you.”
The Abena Korkor dig.
In 2021, socialite Abena Korkor made some sexual allegations against Eugene. This evoked reactions from all quarters. After the accusation, the blogger and his wife penned down messages on social media affirming their love for each other on the ocassion of their anniversary.
Patrons of the meat in the community, which is noted for many dog meat joints spread across vantage areas within it, expressed concern about the price hike which had affected the quantity of the delicacy they usually bought and denied those who could not afford it.
Some travellers from other parts of the Region also patronise the meat anytime they find themselves at Wiaga.
A Senior Nurse at the Sandema Hospital, on condition of anonymity, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Wiaga that the economic hardship compelled them to drastically reduce the quantity they consumed.
“The hardship has forced me and other colleagues to reduce the number of times we visit Wiaga for dog meat. We are becoming malnourished as a result of the insufficient consumption of our delicacy,” he joked.
According to the nurse, “The mystery about the delicious taste of dog meat is the fact that we feed dogs with what we eat, so what meat could be healthier? Something has to be done about the economy so that we can go back to the normal quantity of our delicacy.”
Ms Celestina Angaadi, an Apprentice at a hairdressing salon, in an interview with the GNA, expressed concern about the high cost of the meat, saying “I am not able to buy dog meat these days, it is very expensive.
“I always have an appetite for meat, but because of the price, I cannot afford it. At least, in those days, with GH₵5.00, I could get a piece, but now, unless GH₵30.00 or GH₵40.00. Dog meat is very delicious, but as it stands now, I cannot afford it,” she said.
At one of the joints, where Mr Kojo Issahaka, the owner, had both dog meat and pork on display on his table, said dog meat was one of the major businesses in the town, but the economic hardship in the country greatly affected the sales.
Formerly, he said the price of an average live dog was between GH₵100.00 and GH₵150.00 but it had increased presently to GH₵300.00, adding that the high cost of fuel also affected the business as he travelled outside the Municipality on a motorbike to buy live dogs.
“We do not know what is happening in this country. Even simple ingredients like salt and pepper to prepare the meat are costly,” he said.
Mr Issahaka said the head of the dog which used to go for GH₵15.00, was now sold for GH₵30.00, “Someone came and wanted to buy the dog head, and when I mentioned the price, he could not afford, so he left.”
He disclosed that he could slaughter up to three dogs a day, and by 1600hours, everything would be sold out, but pointing to the meat on his table, he said “As you can see, I slaughtered just one dog, but no sales.”
Mr Charles Aviyali, another dog meat vendor who equally lamented over the low patronage, said before the current economic hardship, with GH₵5.00, customers could get a piece of the meat.
He explained that with the current situation, the meat was sold in parts, “This time, we don’t cut small pieces, but only full parts, like the thigh, head and neck. And a full thigh goes for GH₵40.00 or GH₵45.00 depending on the size of the dog.”
While interacting with the GNA, a customer came and requested to buy GH₵5.00 meat, but was disappointed even though he pleaded, he finally walked away after Mr Aviyali insisted that the prices were fixed and non-negotiable.

Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister has appealed to farmers in the Atwima-Mponua District to desist from using the newly constructed feeder roads in the area, to dry their cocoa beans and other foodstuffs.
He said the use of the roads to dry cocoa beans and other foodstuffs could not only cause accidents but would deteriorate the roads constructed by the government to open the area and facilitate the transportation of their farm produce to the marketing centres.
Addressing farmers and community members at Adobeewura, near Nyinahin, Mr Osei Mensah said they had the responsibility to protect the roads and other infrastructure built by the government in the area to help improve their living conditions.
Mr Osei Mensah was on a tour of the district to inspect ongoing feeder road projects being constructed in the area under the Sino Hydro project.
The government of Ghana on September 2018, entered into a $2 billion Master Project Support Agreement with the Chinese State-run Sinohydro Corporation Limited.
The agreement is for the Sinohydro Corporation to build infrastructure projects in Ghana in exchange to have access to sites to mine bauxite.
A total of 65 kilometres of roads, including the Nyinahin town roads, are under construction in the district.
Among the roads the Minister inspected were the eight-kilometre road from Nyinahin to Akonfre and the Nyinahin to Esreso forest junction roads, which are almost completed.
Mr. Osei Mensah also inspected the Adobeewura to the Forest junction to Esreso-Nkwanta road which had been completed.
He expressed appreciation at the level of work done so far and appealed to the people to take good care of the roads to help prolong their lifespan.
He said, “The Finance Minister, I repeat, has been cooking the books. I have said this several times; if he is so minded, he should sue me. He has been cooking the books.
“He doesn’t give the right picture of the economy. Liabilities like the Energy Sector debt and Banking Sector clean up, he doesn’t add to the deficit; he puts it as a footnote.
“So when he says our deficit is 6%, it is because he has hidden the huge liability items and he’s done that for a long time so he gets (favourable) Fitch and Moody’s rating so it looks like the economy is doing well.”
• Ghana’s true budget deficit is unknown
• This is as a result of schemes by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta
• That Ofori-Atta is cooking figures is an allegation by John Mahama
Speaking on Accra-based Power FM / TV XYZ at the start of his Greater Accra Regional ‘Thank You Tour,’ he alleged that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was not being truthful with Ghanaians about the true state of the economy.
“The Finance Minister, I repeat, has been cooking the books. I have said this several times, if he is so minded, he should sue me. He has been cooking the books.
“He doesn’t give the right picture of the economy. Liabilities like the Energy Sector debt and Banking Sector clean up, he doesn’t add to the deficit, he puts it as a footnote.
“So when he says our deficit is 6%, it is because he has hidden the huge liability items and he’s done that for a long time so he gets (favourable) Fitch and Moody’s rating so it looks like the economy is doing well,” he added.
According to him, the government was exposed when Vice president Bawumia once claimed that the economy could withstand six months in case of a big shock.
Mahama said just two weeks after COVID-19 struck, it took assistance from the World Bank and IMF for the economy to be salvaged. He said the six-month buffer was a bluff because, within 2 weeks, the economy was in the Intensive Care Unit.
He also jabbed the government for growing Ghana’s national debt from 120 billion dollars to 375 billion within a space of four and half years, he is even more worried that the debts are largely for consumption and that there was no major infrastructure to back the wanton borrowing.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup has been scheduled between November and December, where 32 countries will battle it out for the covetous trophy.
With 10 days to the start of the biggest soccer mundial in Qatar, all 32 qualified countries have intensified effort to make impact at the tournament.

Fifa ranking: 14
Main clubs: Penarol, Nacional, Defensor Sporting, Danubio
How they qualified: Uruguay finished third in the single South American qualification group
Coach: Diego Alonso, 47, was appointed in December last year after iconic veteran boss Oscar Tabarez – who guided Uruguay to their last Copa America success – was sacked following a disastrous run of qualifying defeats.
Alonso’s impact was immediate, following four straight defeats from Tabarez’s last games in charge with four successive victories.
The ‘Tornado’ had saved Uruguay’s qualification campaign. “Everyone says that the most important thing in football is winning,” he told La Diaria newspaper in September.
“I go one step further: the most important thing in football is preparing to win.”
Key players: With Uruguay’s top two goalscorers of all time, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, both 35 and playing in their last World Cup, Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde is the new talisman for this team.
Now 24, the hard-working six-foot tall central midfielder is crucial for club and country. Already a Champions League winner and two-time Spanish champion, Valverde’s increasingly mature performances have made him the key cog in Alonso’s team.

The increase was the highest the country recorded since May 2020.
Meanwhile, inflation reached 40.4% in October 2022.
Prices of petroleum products have pushed Ghana’s inflation rate to 11.0 percent in October 2021, the latest data from the Ghana Statistical Service has revealed.
The GSS in its latest bulletin for October 2021 explained that other factors which contributed to the sharp increase were due to hikes in the price of water, housing, electricity, gas, and transport.
Meanwhile, the contribution of food inflation to the overall year-on-year inflation witnessed a slowdown for the period while the national month-on-month inflation between September 2021 and October 2021 was 0.6 percent.
“Food inflation was 11.0 percent, lower than that of last month (11.5 percent), whilst non-food inflation was also 11 percent, higher than September’s 9.9 percent,” the GSS said.
According to him, certain essential goods are produced in Ghana but Ghanaians still prefer to make such purchases outside.
“Even today tiles that we produce in the country are being exported. There are things that can be produced in the country, why do you go to buy them from outside?” he said on myjoyonline.com
He charged businesses to be innovative and begin the production of items that are currently in high demand.
These items are rice, aluminum, toothpick, vegetable oil, etc.
“The economy has grown to the extent that we need 4 billion dollars to import fuel alone a month,” he said.
Nitiwul said, “if the Bank of Ghana is not able to raise over 4 billion dollars in a year, of foreign exchange for fuel, they would go to the black market, and when you do they will determine the rate, and when they do the cedi will depreciate.”
He charged Ghanaians to use the current economic challenges as a means to develop the economy.
The English national team has become one of the many countries that have outdoored their squads for the tournament.
In the England squad, there are three goalkeepers including Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, and Aaron Ramsdale.
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been included in the squad despite the many calls for his exclusion.
Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Connor Gallagher are included in the squad with striker Harry Kane named amongst the forwards alongside Raheem Sterling, Callum Wilson, and Marcus Rashford.
This was disclosed by the Climate Change Manager of the World Bank, Mr. Erwin De Nys, on Wednesday, 9th November, 2022.
The amount is in return of some ten million tons of carbon dioxide emissions expected to be reduced by 2024 within a six million hectare stretch of the West African Guinean Forest.
Mr. De Nys was speaking at an event on Ghana’s Forest Solutions to Climate Change, organised by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources at the ongoing twenty-seventh session of Conference of Parties (COP27) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
He said Ghana has been an important and active member of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility since its establishment in 2008, and is one of the first countries to transition to emission reduction programmes and results-based payments.
Mr. De Nys said the country will soon receive US$4.8 million, representing over nine hundred and seventy thousand (970,000) tons of verified and validated emission reductions between June and December, 2019.
He said the payment will be used to reward stakeholders in emission reduction, and boost confidence in Ghana’s REDD+ process. In addition to this payment, Mr. De Nys said Ghana will also benefit from the Enabling Access to Benefits while Lowering Emissions (EnABLE) Programme of the World Bank, to further reduce emissions and ensure social inclusion.
On his part, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, called for strategic collaboration to bridge the climate financing gap. He said existing financing options are inadequate to deal with the enormity of the problem; and having missed the one hundred billion dollars ($100 billion) climate finance pledge made in Copenhagen, there is an urgent need for stakeholders to work together to bridge the gap between ambition and action.
Mr. Jinapor called on governments and all actors to deliver action beyond pledges and declarations.
“We are at a stage in the climate struggle where mere talk, commitments, declarations and/or pledges are not enough. Consistent with the clarion call of COP27, this is the time the world must “walk the talk” and get on with action and implementation of the many years of unfulfilled climate action promises”, the Minister said.
He said Ghana was committed to forest and nature-based solutions to climate change, which is evidenced by the over 547,000 hectares of degraded forests cultivated between 2017 and 2021, and the over thirty million trees planted under the Green Ghana Project, as well as the verified and validated emission reduction under the Ghana REDD+ Strategy.
He expressed his confidence in COP27, which has been termed action and implementation COP, to deliver real action towards limiting global warming to the one point five degrees Celsius (1.5ºC) target set out in the Paris Agreement.
The UNDP’s Principal Advisor on Climate and Forests, Tim Claris, who also spoke at the event, commended Ghana for her forest solutions to climate change, and said the country deserves to be rewarded for actions being taken in the forestry sector.
There have been some legendary stars from the African continent who have graced the World Cup over the years, and more will get the opportunity to write their names into the history books in Qatar this month.
We look at the top five scorers from Africa at the showpiece finals tournament.
5. PAPA BOUBA DIOP (SENEGAL) – 3 goals
Midfielder Diop rose to global fame when he netted the opening goal of the 2002 World Cup in South Korea/Japan, helping Senegal defeat champions France 1-0.
He netted two more against Uruguay as the west Africans reached the quarterfinals in their debut tournament and Diop finished as their top scorer with three goals.
He sadly passed away in 2020 at the age of 42 after reportedly suffering from motor neuron disease. Senegal president Macky Sall and his 2002 teammates were in attendance at his funeral.
4. SAMUEL ETO’O (CAMEROON) – 3 goals
The current president of the Cameroon Football Federation was once a lethal striker in his day but may be slightly disappointed with his tally at World Cups.
He was selected for four finals tournaments, including as the youngest player in France in 1998 when aged only 17, making eight appearances in all.
His goals came against Saudi Arabia (2002), Denmark, and Netherlands (both 2010), but given he is the record-holder for goals scored in the Africa Cup of Nations finals (18), he may have expected more.
3. AHMED MUSA (NIGERIA) – 4 goals
Musa has only ever scored 16 goals in 107 appearances in a Super Eagles shirt, but four of those have come at the World Cup finals!
He played at the last two tournaments for the Super Eagles but will not be back to add to his tally after they failed to qualify for Qatar.
Musa got a brace against Argentina in a 3-2 loss at the 2014 finals in Brazil, before scoring two more against Iceland in 2018. He has seven appearances in World Cups in all.
2. ROGER MILLA (CAMEROON) – 5 goals
Milla is the oldest-ever scorer at a World Cup after his strike against Russia in 1994 at the age of 42, which was also the last of his five goals.
He had appeared at the 1982 finals and played all three games for the Indomitable Lions without getting on the scoresheet, but it was in 1990 that he shot to fame.
Called out of retirement to play as a 38-year-old, he set the tournament alight with his four goals – two against Romania and another brace versus Colombia as Cameroon reached the quarterfinals.
He was back again in 1994, though this time as a bench player, and still managed to add a fifth goal in the final game for his side.
1. ASAMOAH GYAN (GHANA) – 6 goals
The record-holder is Ghanian forward Asamoah Gyan, who netted six goals and grabbed three assists in 11 appearances over three tournaments bfirst-everetween 2006 and 2014.
He shot to prominence in Germany 16 years ago as he netted against the Czech Republic to help his side to the second round.
But it was really at the 2010 tournament in South Africa where he proved both hero and villain. His three goals against Serbia, Australia, and United States helped Ghana to the quarterfinals, where he missed a penalty against Uruguay that would have secured a first ever semifinal place for an African nation.
He bounced back from that setback though and led the line again for Ghana in 2014, where he netted versus eventual champions Germany and Portugal to take his tally to six.
The players had the chance to switch allegiance to play for Ghana a few months ago but refused to take the opportunity.
After hoping that they will earn a place in the England squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they have now been disappointed.
Both players are excluded from the England final 26-man squad announced by head coach Gareth Southgate on Thursday.
In the England squad, there are three goalkeepers including Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, and Aaron Ramsdale.
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been included in the squad despite the many calls for his exclusion.
Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Connor Gallagher are included in the squad with striker Harry Kane named amongst the forwards alongside Raheem Sterling, Callum Wilson, and Marcus Rashford
Professor Godfred Alufar Bokpin projected that the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the world may last for over 100 years before recovery sets in.
“The reality is that the long-term effect of COVID-19 may go beyond a century. Because the world has witnessed 15 pandemic events and all of them leave behind long-lasting effects.
“But we are in a better position to shorten that based on the measures we put in place today,” he added.
An economist, Professor Godfred Bokpin, has predicted that the impact of the coronavirus on economies around the world may take a period of 100 years before these economies can recover.
He however, noted that some countries are likely to recuperate quickly due to the prudent measures they have instituted to deal with the ravages of the virus.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put a severe strain on government budgets, manifesting in petroleum revenue shortfalls as a result of plunging crude oil prices, shortfalls in import duties, other tax revenues, and non-tax revenues.
Speaking at the Ghana Economic Forum on Monday, November 9, Prof Bokpin said “The reality is that the long-term effect of COVID-19 may go beyond a century. Because the world has witnessed 15 pandemic events and all of them leave behind long-lasting effects.
“But we are in a better position to shorten that based on the measures we put in place today.
“Looking at a recovery that is broad-based with every aspect doing what is expected of them because it is very critical in ensuring that we are able to finance the growth strategy.”
In Ghana, a number of measures have been taken to ensure that the effect of the pandemic on the economy does not prolong.
For instance, the Bank of Ghana (BoG) is supporting the government with GH¢10 billion in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison said on 15th May 2020 that “Today, under the Bank of Ghana’s Asset Purchase Programme, the Bank has purchased a Government of Ghana COVID-19 relief bond with a face value of GH¢5.5 billion at the Monetary Policy Rate with a 10-year tenor and a moratorium of two (2) years (principal and interest).”
Dr Addison added, “The Bank stands ready to continue with its Asset Purchase Programme up to GH¢10 billion in line with the current estimates of the financing gap from the Covid-19 pandemic.”
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also launched a GH¢600 million Coronavirus Alleviation Programme (CAP) business support scheme intended to support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The fund was intended to provide relief to SMEs across the country that has been negatively affected by the disease.

The Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) has introduced OPCL as the new majority shareholder of Ghana Bauxite Company (GBC) to the traditional leaders, Chiefs and people of Ahwiaso and Sefwi Bekwai in the Western North region.
OPCL, a wholly owned Ghanaian company in March 2022 acquired the total 80% shares in GBC, which was previously held by Chinese mining giant, Bosai Minerals Group Limited with the remainder 20% held by the Government of Ghana (GoG) following Bosai’s decision to pull out of operations and exit the country. GoG’s interest in GBC is held by GIADEC.
At a courtesy call, first on the President of the Western-North Regional House of Chiefs and Sefwi Ahwiaso Traditional Council, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, at his Palace in Sefwi Ahwiaso, the traditional leader, who doubles as President of the National House of Chiefs, commended GIADEC for ensuring a seamless transition from the old to the new managers of GBC which has led to the continuity of work without any break.
He was particularly thankful to the CEO of GIADEC, Mr. Michael Ansah for playing an instrumental role in ensuring that there were no job losses during the transitional phase as that was a major concern especially for the local workers.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II commended OPCL for taking up the management of GBC and urged them to ‘turn a new leaf’ in the operations of the company. According to him, the communities have not enjoyed any meaningful benefits especially during the administration of Bosai Minerals Group Limited and thus expects OPCL to do things differently.
He made a passionate appeal to OPCL and GIADEC to offer employment opportunities to the teeming youth in the area and keep the traditional council updated on major developments.
The team was welcomed by the Acting President of the Traditional Council, Katakyie Kwasi Afful who reiterated the need for OPCL not to neglect the community but see it as one of its key stakeholders.
He pledged his support and that of his people to the operations of GBC under the new management of OPCL adding that the success of GBC will bring massive developments to the communities that has eluded them for years.
Chief Executive Officer of GIADEC, Mr. Michael Ansah, expressed his gratitude to the traditional leaders for their continuous support to the Integrated Aluminium Industry (IAI) vision and assured them that he remains committed to the overriding goal of value addition.
He noted that GIADEC is working with the Government of Ghana and its new partner, OPCL, to stabilise the existing operations at Awaso. The new outlook for GBC, in the short to medium term, according to Mr. Ansah, is to ramp up production from 1 million tonnes per annum to 2 million per annum.
Touching on the role of OPCL in executing Project 1, one of four projects under the IAI, Mr. Ansah emphasized that GIADEC is currently assessing the capacity of OPCL to execute Project 1 which involves the expansion of the existing Awaso mine and building of a refinery.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of OPCL, Mr. Ofori Poku, was grateful to the traditional leaders for their endorsement and show of support. He assured them that GBC recognizes the traditional leaders and people in the communities as development partners and his visit is to rekindle and further strengthen the relationship existing between them.
The delegation from GIADEC included its Deputy CEO, Akwasi Osei-Adjei, Executive Assistant to the CEO, Kojo Yankah, Communications Manager, Sheriff Appiah, External Affairs and Sustainability Manager, Ernest Appiah, and Joseph Chibae Adjaho, member of the Communications team.
The delegation was also joined by Senior Executive Members of Ofori Poku Company Limited (OPCL).
Ghana’s inflation rate has jumped to 40.4 per cent for the month of October 2022.
Month-on-month inflation between September and October 2022 was 2.7%, Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Kobina Anim told reporters in Accra.
This was triggered by the continuous increases in prices of food, housing, transport, water, electricity, gas and other fuels among others.
However, speaking on Starr Today with Naa Dede Tetteh, the financial analyst said the increased inflation figures at the end of October are due to several happenings like Russia-Ukraine war, transport fares mechanism among others.
“It just keeps getting worse and worse by the day but it is not a surprise at all. You look at the fact that food inflation is the main driver now. Particularly given that we are in the year you will call the harvest year which means food has an impact on inflation.
“The transport mechanism, the prices of oil, crude oil prices and by extension prices of petroleum. Then of course the transport fares and things related all might have affected the distribution of some of these food items to the various market centers. These are the reason we see prices elevated,” he said.
Mr. Boti however added that the cedi depreciation has not had a good effect on Ghana’s inflation and the economy.
“Over the period also you realize that there has been some 27 and 21 increase in electricity and water tariffs which took effect from September. It also has an effect on the inflation rate and then you also saw from the period September, October, the cedi depreciation was very elevated. Within that period alone over 27% depreciation. All of these would have played a role in the current inflation figure we are seeing for the month of October so it’s not surprising,” he explained.
He opined that the Minister had lost the people’s trust and that the best thing for him to do was to save his integrity by resigning.
Mr. Kotei stated on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline, “Ken Ofori-Atta should have resigned a long time ago. As of now, he has failed to propose any practical solutions to the economic crisis.”
“Your debt-to-GDP ratio has surpassed 100. It means that you do not have an economy. He is unwilling to go wandering around and waiting for the IMF to release the funds.”
He stated that the IMF is not Santa Claus and that they expect action from you.
“What actions do you plan to take in order for the IMF to take you seriously?”
Mr. Kotei emphasized that if the censure against him is successful, he will be politically harmed.
“If the censure against Ofori-Atta is successful, he will suffer political consequences. He is unwilling to leave, and the president is unwilling to fire him. So he’s just hanging around, hoping that the year will end and people will stop talking about him.”
He concluded by saying that despite the numerous loans we had obtained, nothing came from them because we used them for consumption.
He stated that the banking sector clean-up produced no results, the Ghana card exercise produced no results, the creation of new regions produced no results, and the flagship programs that cost us Ghc60 billion produced no positive results.
“You’ve lost control of the foreign exchange market, fuel prices are skyrocketing, and where would you get money to manage Ghana?” So it is best for Ofori-Atta to leave. I’m not sure why he’s still at the post, claiming to be negotiating.”
The general cost of living in the country has become quite expensive as reports have indicated that the ability of Ghanaians to afford basic needs of life has become somewhat impossible.
Inflation has risen to 40.4% according to the Ghana Statistical Service.
The Ghana cedi has also depreciated by more than 60% in the last three months.
In all these happenings it is very important as individuals to prioritize healthy life choices.
However, these tips do not ensure maximum protection from diseases and ailments, but they can ensure that one has some level of buffering against them.
1. Adopt healthy eating styles
Adopting healthy habits can go a long way to save you from unnecessary spending as well as help you to live a healthier life.
Begin by eating home-cooked meals. With this, you can know how to apportion the right amounts of varieties of nutrients you may need.
Even though food prices have more than doubled, making bulk food purchases can help reduce the amount of money spent on food.
Another aspect of cooking at home gives you the opportunity to bond with your family if you have one, a healthy recipe for living happier even during a turbulent period.
2. Drink a lot of water/Fast sometimes
Drinking a lot of water (in the right amount) is one way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Water has great health benefits for every human.
It can also ensure that even without food, one will remain energetic and healthy.
Those who are not able to afford three square meals must make sure to drink enough water to stay healthy.
3. Develop a good saving and reward culture
Even though the country’s financial standing looks gloomy as speculations of ‘haircuts’ prevail, it is still very important to save part of your income. This puts your mind at ease as fears of uncertainty are reduced.
Having enough financial buffers gives some level of confidence to work harder to secure a comfortable future.
4. Buy only what you need
It is also important to cut impulse spending and only buy things that are needed. One must always choose what is important in order to stay afloat in hard economic times.
5. Fasting
Apart from religious reasons, fasting has numerous psychological and physiological benefits. Fasting may prevent obesity and aid in weight loss for persons who are overweight.
It also improves metabolism. Fasting can also help save as you may not need to buy food on the days you decide to fast.
Some Members of Parliament, from both the Majority and Minority Caucus in Parliament, have been calling for the resignation of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
The Minority filed the motion to ensure that Mr Ofori-Atta is removed from office. However, ahead of today’s hearing, the Majority MPs numbering about 80 have made a u-turn, with an indication that they will not support the censure albeit their call for his dismissal.
Speaking on 3Music TV, the ‘Non-Living Thing’ artiste mentioned that the message he preached in his ‘Dumsor’, ‘Inflation’, and ‘Masses’ songs during John Mahama’s tenure are issues that persist to date and that he is not moved to compose another song.
“What I said he [Nana Addo] should ‘toaso’, I stand by it because I think I benefitted from Free Education directly and I have the right to say I endorse that because this is directly.
“My mom has these girls we’ve been supporting. At first, she would call, asking me to help. I am not saying it is much but just the fact that I am not even hearing that, it came from that place and I was specific about what I was endorsing,” he disclosed.
His statement rides on the back of Ghanaian comedian DKB, who shades him for the song ‘Happy Day’, which he composed in 2020 for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, endorsing him for president.
DKB’s video captured Sarkodie’s lyrics, “If today I am sleeping with lights in my house and my children can go to school for free, forgive me, but Nana, continue (Toaso).”
The aforementioned lines formed part of Sarkodie’s lyrics for the ‘Happy Day’ song, which featured Kuami Eugene.
Some persons described the song as an endorsement of Nana Akufo-Addo because of the ‘Nana Toaso’ phrase that the ruling party and Nana Addo used for their campaign.
Blacko is featured on a song titled ‘Country Side’, the 9th track on the album set for release on Friday.
The album, which Sarkodiedescribes as every DJ’s best playlist, will be his eighth studio album.
🇬🇭Sarkodie explains how the collaboration with Black Sherif (@blacksherif_) on ‘Country Side’ off of his upcoming #Jamzalbum came about.
Basically, Blacko hit up the landlord.📞
Ahead of the release, the ‘Non-Living Thing’ crooner has explained that he is only moved to collaborate based on conviction and barely reaches out to other artistes to get on his projects.
“If I want to do a song, it is rare that I would think that oh, this boy is the new hottest artiste I want to put him on,” he said.
Black Sherif was an example he cited on Accra-based 3 Music Network on Thursday.
“Big shoutouts to my superstar Blacko. Blacko hit me up last minute of this project, ‘Landlord I have to be on Jamz’. I said, pull up,” he added.
He also admitted that Black Sherif was a heavy influence on that particular song ‘Country Side’ and inspired its direction.
‘Jamz’ is a 10-track album and has nine artistes featured on it. Track two named ‘Confam’ is the only song that has no feature.
The lead song ‘Labadi’ which has already been released features artiste King Promise.
Other notable features include Oxlade, Cina Soul, Joeboy, BXBN, Kranium, Lojay and Ink Boy

Following Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter on October 27, the world’s richest man proposed a range of controversial changes to the platform. With mounting evidence that he is making it up as he goes along, these proposals are tweeted out in a stream-of-consciousness manner from Musk’s Twitter account.
Primarily to raise revenue, one of the ideas was to charge US$8 a month to obtain a verified status – that is, the coveted blue tick badge next to the account handle.
Within the space of a few days, the paid verification change has already been rolled out in several countries, including Australia, under the Twitter Blue subscription service.
More than just verification
According to Twitter, the blue tick lets people know an account of interest is authentic. Currently, there are seven categories of “public interest accounts”, such as government office accounts, news organisations and journalists, and influencers.
Yet this seemingly innocuous little blue icon is far from a simple verification tool in Twitter’s fight against impersonation and fraud.
In the public view, a verified status signifies social importance. It is a coveted status symbol to which users aspire, in large part because Twitter’s approval process has made it difficult to obtain.
That’s partly because the blue tick has a controversial history. After receiving widespread condemnation for verifying white supremacists in 2017, Twitter halted its verification process for more than three years.
There’s a fundamental mismatch between what Twitter wants the blue tick to mean versus how the public perceives it, something the Twitter Safety team itself acknowledged in 2017.
Verification was meant to authenticate identity & voice but it is interpreted as an endorsement or an indicator of importance. We recognize that we have created this confusion and need to resolve it. We have paused all general verifications while we work and will report back soon
But they didn’t resolve it. When Twitter resumed verifying accounts systematically in 2021, it wasn’t long until the process began to fail again, with blue ticks being handed out to bots and fake accounts.
Moreover, the public is still confused about what the blue tick signifies, and views it as a status symbol.
Lords and peasants
Musk’s stream-of-consciousness policy proposals may reflect his own preference for interacting with verified accounts. Despite his repeated claims of “power to the people” and breaking the “lords and peasants” system of verified versus non-verified accounts, I ran a data analysis of 1,493 of Musk’s tweets during 2022, and found that more than half (57%) of his interactions were with verified accounts.
Evidently, having a verified status makes one worthy of his attention. Thus, Musk himself arguably views the blue tick as a status symbol, like everyone else (except Twitter).
However, Musk’s US$8 blue tick proposal is not only misguided but, ironically, likely to produce even more inauthenticity and harm on the platform.
A fatal flaw stems from the fact that “payment verification” is not, in fact, verification.
Fact from fraud
Although Twitter’s verification system is by no means perfect and is far from transparent, it did at least aspire to the kinds of verification practices journalists and researchers use to distinguish fact from fiction, and authenticity from fraud. It takes time and effort. You can’t just buy it.
Despite its flaws, the verification process largely succeeded in rooting out a sizable chunk of illegitimate activity on the platform, and highlighted notable accounts in the public interest. In contrast, Musk’s payment verification only verifies that a person has US$8.
Just to make this as clear as possible.
What verification means now: We’ve confirmed this person or company is who they say they are.
What verification will mean in the future: I have $8.
Elon could still back out of this, but that’s the fundamental change that he’s proposing.
Payment verification can’t guarantee the system won’t be exploited for social harm. For example, we already saw that conspiracy theory influencers such as “QAnon John” are at risk of becoming legitimised through the purchase of a blue tick.
Opening the floodgates for bots
The problem is even worse at larger scales. It is hard enough to detect and prevent bot and troll networks from poisoning the information landscape with disinformation and spam.
Now, for the low cost of US$800, foreign adversaries can launch a network of 100 verified bot accounts. The more you can pay, the more legitimacy you can purchase in the public sphere.
To make matters worse, Musk publicly stated that verified accounts who pay US$8 will be granted more visibility on the platform, while non-verified accounts will be suppressed algorithmically.
He believes this will solve hate speech and fake accounts by prioritising verified accounts in search, replies and mentions. If anything, it will have the opposite effect: those with enough money will dominate the public sphere. Think Russian bots and cryptocurrency spammers.
Consider also that the ability to participate anonymously on social media has many positive advantages, including safety for marginalised and at-risk groups.
Giving users tools to manage their public and personal spheres is crucial to self-identity and online culture. Punishing people who want to remain anonymous on Twitter is not the answer.
Worse yet, connecting social media profiles to payment verification could cause real harm if a person’s account is compromised and the attacker learns their identity through their payment records.
A cascade of consequences
Musk’s ideas are already causing a cascading series of unintended consequences on the platform. Accounts with blue ticks began changing their profile handle to “Elon Musk” and profile picture to parody him. In response, Musk tweeted a new policy proposal that Twitter handles engaging in impersonation would be suspended unless they specify being a “parody”.
Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended
Users will not even receive a warning, as comedian Kathy Griffin and her 2 million followers discovered when her account was suspended for parodying Musk.
Musk’s vision for user verification does not square up with that of Twitter or the internet research community.
While the existing system is flawed, at least it was systematic, somewhat transparent, and with the trappings of accountability. It was also revisable in the face of public criticism.
On the other hand, Musk’s policy approach is tyrannical and opaque. Having abolished the board of directors, the “Chief Twit” has all the power and almost no accountability.
We are left with a harrowing vision of a fragile and flawed online public square: in a world where everyone is verified, no one is verified.

A popular Nigerian journalist and a self- acclaimed investigator, Kemi Olunloyo have called out a popular Nigerian singer, Davido, and his baby mama/fiances, Chioma Rowland for allegedly faking the death of their son and using it for clout chasing.
Recall that Ifeanyi Adeleke reportedly passed away on the 31st of October 2022 after he drowned inside the swimming pool which is located inside the mansion of his father in Banana Island, Lagos state, Nigeria.
#BREAKING A prominent Lagos Lawyer called me this afternoon to tell me Davido’s son #ifeanyiisalive. This clout hashtag has been TRENDING for a week. If it turns out this is true, Davido and Chioma should be PROMPTLY ARRESTED for faking their child’s DEATH and lying to Police pic.twitter.com/KhcWRYS9aL
Meanwhile, while some people have been mourning this loss, many Nigerian as well have kept on spreading rumors that Ifeanyi Adeleke is alive and did not die like it was rumored.
The family needs a spokesman to address this. Who started #ifeanyiisalive hashtag? Did that nanny see the child lifeless? Not even Davido’s lawyer is a spokesman. They made police their spokesperson. Are they trying to end my coverage because that won’t work.
However, Kemi Olunloyo said that she was called by a lawyer saying that Ifeanyi Adeleke is alive as it has turned into a clout trend. However, she made it known that Chioma Rowland and Davidoshould be arrested for faking their child’ s death and lying to the police if this turns out to be true.
Furthermore, Kemi Olunloyo said that she has been seeing people faking death but hasn’ t seen anyone do so with a child. Finally, she laid out some questions saying that Davido should get a spokesperson who should come out and address all these.
She wrote, ” BREAKING: A prominent Lagos
The lawyer called me this afternoon to tell me Davido’ s son #ifeanyiisalive. This Clout hashtag has been TRENDING for a week. If it turns out this is true, Davido and Chioma should be PROMPTLY ARRESTED for faking their child’ s DEATH and lying to Police” .
A ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, Cassiel Ato Forson, has stated that the move by the majority caucus to demand the removal of the finance minister was due to personal reasons and not in the interest of Ghanaians.
He made the statement after NPP MPs declared that they will not partake in a vote of censure to remove the finance minister from office.
Speaking in an interview in parliament, on November 10, 2022, he said “It is clear that the NPP majority in parliament has chosen their party interest over the interest of the country. The people of Ghana really want the finance minister to go, unfortunately, what they did last week was all about politics, they never meant it. They were doing it to shield the Vice President, they were doing it to shield the President and they’ve never meant it.
“They are clueless, and they don’t want to create the impression that their party is the one that has failed,” he added.
Ato Forson however noted that if the move to vote out the minister does not succeed, they will move to impeach the President.
They made this announcement in a press conference in parliament on Thursday, November 11, 2022.
According to them, despite the fact that they are sticking to their decision to call for the resignation of Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, they will do so solely on their terms.
Addressing the media on November 11, 2022, the NPP MPs said their decision to refrain from supporting their colleagues on the other side of parliament is based on the premise of their calls for the sack of Mr. Ofori-Atta which they say is based on falsehood and propaganda.
“We are here to reiterate that, however much you heard us speaking that based on the intervention of the president, we will have to see the minister of finance do his work, read budget, see through appropriation and then the president will act.
“Over the days, we have heard the finance minister speaking and his speaking has influenced majority of us in the caucus, not only to state that we are back to the original position that we took, and that position is that the minister of finance must not be the one to read the budget, and must not be the one that would do the appropriation,” he said.

A former Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Asante Berko, has been arrested in the United Kingdom over alleged bribery.
Recall that in 2020, he was sued over the same conduct by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the U.S.
According to Bloomberg reports, Mr Berko, who is also a former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. was arrested on charges that he orchestrated bribes to Ghanaian officials while employed at the investment bank.
He was arrested at Heathrow Airport, reports further indicate, and he is facing six counts on an issue dated August 2020.
Details of the alleged bribery a federal court in Brooklyn, New York, accuses Berko of conspiring with at least two Ghanaian officials and four others in a bribery scheme that benefited Goldman, himself, and a Turkish energy company that sought to build a power plant in the African nation.
However, the identities of the two other persons involved are yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, the lawyer for Mr Berko, Carl Loewenson, and
the spokesperson for Brooklyn US Attorney Breon Peace, John Marzulli, have declined to comment.
The indictment claims that Berko was a member of the Goldman team in charge of arranging and overseeing financing for the power
plant project at the time of the conspiracy.
He allegedly paid the bribes to obtain the necessary approvals for the Turkish company, in which Goldman held a 16% stake. Prosecutors also claim Berko laundered the bribe money through US financial institutions.
Berko allegedly helped a client secure a government contract to build and operate an electrical power plant in the Republic of Ghana, in contravention of the US Foreign Corrupt Practises Act of 1977.
As alleged in the complaint that the SEC made on April 13, 2020, Asante Berko, who according to the Wall Street Journal was an executive of a foreign-based subsidiary of Goldman’s until 2016, arranged for his firm’s client, a Turkish energy company, to funnel at least US$2.5 million to a Ghana-based
intermediary to pay illicit bribes to Ghanaian government officials in order to gain their approval of an electrical-power-plant project.
The complaint further alleges that Berko helped the intermediary pay more than $200,000 in bribes to various other government officials
and that he personally paid more than $60,000 to members of the Ghanaian parliament and other government officials.
According to the complaint, Berko took deliberate steps to prevent his employer from detecting the bribery. He misled his employer’s compliance personnel about the true purpose of the intermediary company.
Berko consented to the entry of a final judgement that permanently enjoins him from breaking the FCPA and Section 30A Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and orders him to disgorge $275,000 in ill- gotten gains, plus $54,163.92 in prejudgment interest.
This matter was resolved by (Mr Berko) agreeing to pay more than $329,000 to regulators without admitting or denying the allegations, court records show.
According to the SEC, Berko was a vice president in Goldman’s natural-resources group before he resigned in December 2016. After his resignation in 2016, he proceeded to head Ghana’s state- owned Tema Oil Refinery Ltd. but stepped down after the SEC suit was filed.
In another foreign-bribery case, Goldman paid more than $2.3 billion for its role in the looting of Malaysia’s 1MDB sovereign wealth fund. It was the largest penalty in US history for a violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Taking to Twitter, Kemi hit back at people who advised Davido to sue her. According to her, God will never let it happen.

She further stated that the singer shouldn’t dare it as she will expose more horrible information about Chioma and Peruzzi, whom she says is Chioma’s ex-lover.

The Ningo-Prampram MP says the Minority Caucus will not accord the honourable title to his colleagues on the Majority side should they fail to vote against the Finance Ministerin a censure vote today.
Samuel Nartey George said any contrary action by the NPP MPs will mean they lack honour and thus do not deserve to be treated as such.
Speaking on Metro TV on Thursday, the NDC MP said they will refer to the NPP MPsby their regular names and not honourable.
He thus urged them to earn the title honourable today.
“Today, it is a matter of honour. It is a matter of the title we so fight for. So they (NPP MPs) must earn their title today.
“This is a call to the 137 on the Majority side. Earn your title. Else we will not call you honourable members of the rest of the term.
“We will refer to you by your regular names because you are going to show Ghanaians that you lack honour,” he threatened.
Mr Nartey George added the motion by his caucus has no partisan motive.
According to him, it represents the general demands of the majority of Ghanaians.
“Ghana is at the crossroads today. Today Parliament has the opportunity to distinguish itself and ensure that we are masters of our own craft and ensure that we care about the people we represent.
The motion of censure that stands in the name of the Minority leader is not a motion that is to seek a partisan or political or parochial interest. It is simply in response to the calls by Ghanaians,” he added.
The Minority Caucus’s censure motion against the embattled Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to be moved today.
The motion which was filed on October 25, per the constitution is to be debated upon and voted on the same after 14 days of its receipt by the Speaker of Parliament.
Today, Thursday, November 10, is the fourteenth day, after the motion was received by the Speaker.
The grounds for the Minority’s motion include mismanagement of the economy, alleged withdrawals from the Consolidated Fund, and illegal payment of oil revenues into offshore accounts among other reasons.
Ahead of that, the New Patriotic Party has ordered its Members of Parliament (MPs) to abstain from the vote of censure against the embattled Finance Minister.
The party has thus asked the chief whips of the Caucus to ensure the order is complied with.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, November 9, and signed by the General Secretary of the party, Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, he said the decision was taken after wider consultation with major stakeholders.
“The leadership of the New Patriotic Party, following a broader consultation and engagements with stakeholders has resolved and hereby directs all members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament to abstain from a scheduled vote of censure being sought by the Minority Caucus against Mr Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister for Finance.
Meanwhile, the Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, has warned that members of the Majority Caucus who had rebelled against the Finance Minister may face dire consequences should the vote of censure fail.
According to him, in the event the vote of censure fails, the 80 Majority Caucus members would be at the mercy of their party officials and this will not bode well for them.
Already, all NDC MPs have been instructed not to miss today’s sitting in order to get the required number to carry out their objective.
The Deputy Minority Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim has warned that there will be consequences should any member fail to show up.
A newly-constructed road at Ntobroso in the Atwima Mponua District of the AshantiRegion was used by some farmers to dry cocoa beans.
In a video on social media, one side of the tarred road was covered with cocoa beans.
“Since when did we start drying cocoa beans in the middle of the road?” the Ashanti Regional Minister questioned.
He was inspecting ongoing feeder road projects in the area with some government officials.
When a cocoa farmer decided to dry cocoa beans on an asphalted road in a town, blocking one lane of the road and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah chanced on it and was irritated by the action of the owner of the cocoa beans. pic.twitter.com/qlIgdxrwVO
After chancing on the development, Simon Osei-Mensah was irked and ordered that they are removed immediately.
One of the residents on the scene complained that they would not remove the beans because the road is not being used for illegal mining to warrant such a directive from the Minister.
Oddly enough, he went ahead to state unequivocally that even if they remove them, they would still dry the cocoa beans again after the Minister and his team had left.
“Is this act not worse than galamsey? We will arrest you if you don’t take care,” Mr Simon Osei-Mensah is heard saying in the video.
But the gentleman swiftly replied to the Minister and said that even if he is arrested, he would be freed, eventually.
It was an interesting exchange as the Regional Minister ordered the security to arrest him for his unfortunate utterances.
Some residents and the Assemblyman began pleading on his behalf. They suspected the man in question was drunk.
The man believed to be in his early 40s snubbed the Ashanti Regional Minister and refused to apologise.
“This man standing there, what shows he is drunk? He is just being foolish. What is the sense in this? Arrest him and let’s see if he could come back as he’s saying,” Simon Osei Mensah directed.
Despite successfully passing her bar exams and the interview session as well, Ghanaian socialite, Ama Governor’sappears to have ‘shaky’ chances of becoming a lawyer.
Known in real life as Elorm Ababio, she is due to be called to the bar on Friday, November 12, 2022, upon completion of the Ghana School of Law, Makola, but received a letter from the Secretary to the General Legal Council informing her that the decision has been challenged.
A “concerned citizen” is said to have filed a complaint alleging that Ama Governor lacks good character and not befitting enough to venture into the law profession.
A YouTube video said to show her allegedly engaged in “conduct unbecoming of an application to be called to the Bar” has also been attached to the complaint.
Following the incident, there has been an uproar on social media, particularly on Twitter where scores of individuals have condemned the decision of the General Legal Council to withhold ‘calling her to the bar’ while investigations take place.
Let’s take a look at some sultry pictures shared by Ama Governor on Instagram.
Some of these pictures seem to have partly informed the motion against her dreams of becoming a lawyer.
The Chief Executive Officer of Chartma Herbal Health Centre, Dr Charity Twumasi, has admonished married men to have sex at least twice every week.
This, according to her, is advisable because it will help reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer.
In a conversation with Asieduwaa Akumia on Prime Morning on Tuesday, she explained that having too much sex leads to overuse of the prostate gland, making it lose its efficiency.
“I keep telling men that too much of everything is bad, and as a man, if you ejaculate, it contains 400 million cells. So, if a man just walks into a room with a lady right now and then they have sexual intercourse, that man is bringing out 400 mini cells.”
“Now, if the gland is overused, the possibility that it will cause prostate cancer is high. At least do it twice a week. Don’t kill yourself. If we’re looking at the 400 cells, if you want to quantify it in volumes, you’re bringing out one pint of blood,” she explained.
She further noted that men who abuse sex are at a higher risk of getting prostate cancer.
Also, Charity Twumasi revealed that the reason some men become weak earlier is due to the overuse of strength during their youthful days.
It is believed that older men are bound to get prostate infections.
But Dr Twumasi observed that younger men who are engrossed in too much sex are at greater risk than older men.
“Formerly, we had the older men have prostate issues. Now even the younger ones are having it. I’ve diagnosed a 30-year-old guy and a 21-year-old with prostate cancer because some will masturbate and do other sexually related stuff.”
She cautioned men against taking in caffeine, saying it will affect their performance and weaken the prostate gland.
The health expert has, however, entreated men to eat foods like ginger, the shell of watermelon, tiger nut, coconut, and bitter kola blended together.
Shatta in a bid to hit back at Bullgod during a social media banter wrote on Facebook; “Ghana will know when you said” a former president “sends you to bring him girls.”
The post sparked outrage on the internet with some individuals lambasting the Dancehall musician for dragging an ex-president’s name in his fight with Bullgod.
On the other hand, critics of the former president who were excited by Shatta’s claimsshared all sorts of disparaging comments beneath the post.
But touching on the issue and how the ex-president and his camp reacted to the allegations, Bullgod during a discussion on Daybreak Hitz said:
“I haven’t heard from the president yet but I’ve heard from close sources. They are telling me to be strong. They are concerned about how his name is being thrown about like that. I told them these were things I will handle. I don’t think the ex-president himself has got the time to file a suit against Shatta because he can also do that.
“The party can also do that but I need to do that for my persona. I have a relationship with him so I need to make sure his name is set in the right place. Set aside from all that. From all the claims that I bring girls to him,” the artiste manager said.
Bullgod who is poised at ‘taking on’ Shatta Wale after suing him for defamation at the Accra High Court added that it is not the first time the Dancehall artiste has raised such claims.
“This is not the first time he is making such pronouncements. He made the same pronouncements seven years ago around 2015, 2016 and I let it slide.”
Ghana youngster Mohammed Kudus has charged Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder to play him in his natural position.
The 22-year-old has been one of the standout players at Ajax this season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
However, he has mostly played in the false nine role but Kudus believes he plays better as a ‘number 10’.
“It’s more that I think I can do it on my own position even better than as a striker,” he told Algemeen Dagblad in an interview.
“So it’s not annoying, because the team goes above everyone else.”
Kudus has been included in Ghana’s 55-man provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, however he is expected to named in the final squad for the global showpiece later this month.
Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
Black Stars will play Switzerland in an International friendly on November 17, before travelling to Qatar for the World Cup.
Kudus has made 18 appearances and scored five goals for the Black Stars.
A former Deputy Finance Minister, Mona Quartey, has attributed the continuous free fall of the cedi to the uncertainty of the future of Ghana’s Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
According to Mona Quartey, even though several factors have contributed to the depreciation of the cedi, the continuous stay in office of the Finance Minister, whose policies have failed domestically, has eroded the confidence of investors in the Ghanaian economy.
“There is no doubt that the cedi depreciation is based on uncertainty, and part of the uncertainty is the future of us maintaining the Finance Minister. The world and the markets are looking and wondering why we would continue to keep a Finance team that has implemented economic policies that have failed domestically. So that uncertainty is feeding into the depreciation rate,” Mrs Quartey said on Eyewitness News on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
The cedi has lost over 50% of its value since January 2022.
The former Deputy Finance Minister also noted that the current inflation figure is a clear indication that Ghana is back in HIPC times.
“[The current inflation rate] is the highest since July 2001 during HIPC times. So there is no doubt that we are back in HIPC times. There is no doubt that we are in dire times, and we are all feeling it in our pockets,” Mrs. Quartey told host Umaru Sanda Amadu.
Ghana’s inflation rate hit an all-time high of 40.4 per cent for the month of October 2022.
This was captured in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Per the data, food and non-food inflation also rose to hit 43.7 percent and 37.8 percent respectively.
In a post she shared on Twitter on November 8, 2022, netizens read different meanings into the actress’s post.
“I’m about to make the hardest decision ever,” she shared.
While some social media users suggested the actress may be planning to hand her account to her husband, others have alleged that the couple were having issues in their marriage and the post may throw some light on the rumour.
On November 9, 2022, Twitter permanently suspended Medikal’s account for allegedly impersonating the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The suspension, made official on November 9, 2022, by the bird application, showed a blank account on the artiste’s page, with the notice, ‘Account Suspended’.
This was after several social media users had reported the ‘Stubborn Academy’ artiste for impersonation, giving the new owner, Elon Musk, no choice but to immediately take action and suspend the artiste from his app.
On November 6, 2022, Elon Musk shared a tweet forewarning users that he would suspend any account purporting other people.
Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, says should the Finance Minister,Ken Ofori-Atta insist on staying after the vote of censure, it will be considered a mark of disrespect to the general public.
The Minority Chief Whip who is optimistic the vote of censure expected to take place on Thursday, November 10, will lead to the ousting of the Finance Minister said he is counting on the votes of dissenting members of the Majority caucus to see their action come to fruition.
According to him, the Finance Minister cannot continue to be allowed to manage the economy. It is time for someone else to take over the mantle and fix the problem, he said.
“You cannot continue to drive a car when you have burst the tyre, you have broken the engine, you have smashed the screen, you have smashed a lot of things, you were reckless with not making sure there was water to keep cooling the car, then all of a sudden you say that ‘o, give me another opportunity, I’ll fix all the problem’.
“It is better to let go, let another person take over, so that the person will be able to fix the problems. Insisting to stay, for us, is like a mark of disrespect to the public,” he said on JoyNews’ PM Express.
He noted that while Members of the Majority caucus have been urged not to vote against the Finance Minister, he is confident the use of the secret ballot will allow them the freedom to express their will without fear or favour.
“And for us in the Minority we believe that we need to carry on and push as hard as we can with hope that our colleagues opposite, yes people might have spoken to you, but one advantage you have in the constitution, and I believe that the framers of our constitution were very certain that when it comes to removing somebody from office or putting somebody in office, the best way to do it is through secret ballot. And you saw secret ballot produce Speaker Bagbin.
“I’m very hopeful that yes, in 1999 on the same date 10th of November 1999, there was a vote of censure on Kwame Peprah even though it didn’t succeed because the then majority which was our side had a huge number so they first amended the motion and it didn’t succeed.
“I am confident we were never able to elect a Speaker from the opposite, we were able to do it through secret ballot , I’m very confident we’ll make another history by using secret ballot to remove a sitting Minister,” he said.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party has directed all members of the Majority caucus to abstain from the scheduled vote of censure to remove the Finance Minister.
In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, he directed that the “the leadership of the Majority Caucus especially the Whips are to ensure that no Member of the Majority Caucus partakes in this exercise by the Minority Group in Parliament.”
He noted that while there are genuine concerns to be addressed concerning the position of the Finance Minister and his role in Ghana’s economic management, it would be counter-productive if the Majority caucus joined the Minority side in ousting the Minister.
“The leadership of the NPP wishes to assure our Members of Parliament and the Ghanaian populace that there are ongoing internal engagements aimed at addressing legitimate concerns expressed by various stakeholders regarding the management of the economy, including the calls for the resignation or dismissal of the Minister of Finance.”

“I think my most memorable moments were in the two World Cups. The first one was the 2006 edition where we beat Czech Republic,” he told TV3.
“The second one was when we beat USA in 2010 in South Africa.’
Paintsil added, “It was a late goal that Asamoah Gyan scored for the country, for his teammates and for the world to see. It was the game that helped us reach the quarterfinals against Uruguay.”
“It was a very amazing moment that put us in football history in Africa. Ghana is one of the African countries that has reached the World Cup quarterfinals.”

Ghana is set to receive up to Fifty Million United States Dollars (US$50,000,000.00) from the World Bankfor reducing carbon dioxide emissions between 2019 and 2024.
This was disclosed by the Climate Change Managerof the World Bank, Mr.
The lawyer-in-waiting, who is also a YouTuber, is being denied the Car call despite her successful completion of the professional law program, that is passing her exams and scaling the interview session as well.
Ama Governor reportedly received a letter dated November 3, from the Secretary to the General Legal Council, Justice Cynthia Pamela A. Addo JA, informing her of the suspension because a complaint filed by a “concerned citizen”.
The GLC indicated that the complaint by this “concerned citizen” alleged that Ama Governor is seen in widely circulated videos engaging in what it describes as “conduct unbecoming of an applicant to be called to the Bar”.
The Complainant, the GLC Secretary indicated, also submitted a flash drive [pen drive] which contains selected video files and hyperlinks of Ama Governor to relevant website publications.
Ama Governor’s conduct is said to violate Regulation 21 (c) of the Legal Profession (Professional and Post-call Law Course) Regulations, 2018 L.I. 2355.
The said Regulation states: “A student of the school qualifies to be called to the Bar, if that student has […] (c) satisfied the Council that the student is of good character.”
Barely a few days after the suspension was communicated, an online petition circulating on various social media platforms has already generated 8,982 signatures out of the 9,000 targeted.
No offence to anyone please ,but if Ama governor was promoting LGBTQ on her channel then I think it’s the law that has got to her,LGBTQ is illegal in Ghana and promoting it isn’t something you should be doing if you want to get a job that’s mainly about the law .
Can someone please clearly outline what happened? And if it’s shareable, please let us know the reasons the GLC have given for refusing to call Ama to the bar even though she has met all requirements.https://t.co/QGh6h9wSIK

The Ghana Armed Forces prayed the general public to cooperate with the Operation to rid the country of the various destructions resulting from illegal mining activities.

Comedy enthusiasts in Ghana might witness a legendary comedy performance by American stand-up comedian David Khari Webber Chappelle soon.
Dave Chappelle, as he is popularly known, hinted at a performance in Ghana during one of his sold-out comedy shows in London last Friday, dubbed “Dave Chappelle Live in London 2022”.
The event was held at the popular Backyard Comedy Club.
Dave mounted the stage and asked his old-time friend and talented Ghanaian-born British comedian Kojo Anim where he’s from, to which Kojo answered, ‘Ghana’. He went on to make a little joke off that and chipped in that he probably should have a comedy show in Ghana. Kojo agreed that it is a great idea.
If the thought comes to fruition, it will be Dave Chappelle’s first performance in Ghana. This comes after the comedian hinted in April last year that he wants to move to Ghana to create a new life, during an interview with Naomi Campbell.
The experienced stand-up comedian treated his fans in the auditorium to yet another rib-cracking moment, with lots of content on Kanye West and his recent statements, which pretty much dominated his entire set.
Dave Chappelle’s set was preceded by performances from Ashley and Cipha, both of whom had patrons in stitches. The incredible and hilarious Kojo Anim took his turn and gave off an outstanding performance on the night with massive jokes on African dads and kids.
Kojo, after his golden buzzer moment at the ‘British Got Talent’ show has never looked back and continues to make great strides in the world of comedy, continually sharing stages with legends.
David Khari Webber Chappelle is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He is known for his satirical comedy sketch series Chappelle’s Show (2003–2006), which he starred in until quitting in the middle of production during the third season. After a hiatus, Chappelle returned to performing stand-up comedy across the U.S. By 2006, Chappelle was called the “comic genius of America” by Esquire and, in 2013, “the best” by a Billboard writer. In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked him No. 9 in their “50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time”.
