I’m sorry – Ariana Grande apologises to ‘Mistress of the Dark’ Elvira for rude behaviour

Ariana Grande has issued an apology to actress Cassandra Peterson, known for her role in the horror icon Elvira, after Peterson accused the pop star of snubbing her at a meet and greet.

Peterson, famous for her Mistress of the Dark persona, revealed that Grande had requested tickets for herself and her family to attend one of her shows.

However, during a panel discussion, Peterson mentioned that while she had taken photos and signed autographs for Grande’s friends and relatives, the singer declined to pose for a picture in return and left before the performance began.

Cassandra Peterson made the claims during a question-and-answer panel

In her reply to Cassandra Peterson’s comments, Ariana Grande stated that she doesn’t “even remember” meeting the Elvira star.

She explained that the alleged encounter would have occurred around seven years ago, shortly after her concert in Manchester was tragically targeted in a terror attack. Grande expressed that this difficult time may have affected her memory of the event.

At the time, Ariana said, she “was really not great with being in public crowds or loud places.”

“But if I’m misremembering this moment, I sincerely apologise for offending you so.

“Thank you for being so nice to my mom; she told me how lovely you were (she might have different feelings about that now, but I’ll talk to her clearly; we all have our days!)”

She signed off by “sending love always,” adding, “You’ll always be our queen of Halloween.”

The video of Cassandra Peterson, who also appeared as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, discussing the interaction, recently went viral.

She’s heard laughing when someone else on stage says Ariana is “playing the wrong witch”—referencing her role as Good Witch Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked.

Ariana Grande to settle ex-husband $1.25m in divorce – Los Angeles Superior Court passes judgement

Musician, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez’s nearly three-year marriage has come to an official end, as confirmed by a Los Angeles Superior Court judgement on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old pop sensation and the 28-year-old real estate broker finalised their divorce, with Grande agreeing to a one-time payment of $1.25 million (£980,000) to Gomez as part of their settlement.

Grande filed for divorce six months ago, citing irreconcilable differences, marking the conclusion of a relationship that began in January 2020, just before the Covid-19 pandemic.

The couple tied the knot in a “tiny and intimate” ceremony at Grande’s Montecito, California home in May 2021.

In addition to the monetary settlement, Gomez will receive half of the proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles property. Grande has also agreed to cover up to $25,000 in his legal fees, with no provision for future alimony.

The separation, which occurred over a year ago, was facilitated by a prenuptial agreement, and the absence of children or legal disputes allowed for a swift finalisation of the divorce proceedings.

Gomez, hailing from southern California, has a decade-long career in luxury real estate, as noted on his AKG profile. The couple’s public debut was in February 2020, followed by a cameo in Grande and Justin Bieber’s Stuck With U music video in May of the same year.

Grande, a two-time Grammy Award winner, recently released her seventh studio album titled Eternal Sunshine on 8 March. She is also set to star as Glinda, the good witch, in the film adaptation of the musical Wicked alongside Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, scheduled for release in November.

The divorce marks a new chapter for both Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez, following a significant period of their lives spent together.

  • See alleged photos of Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater together after rumoured cheating scandal

Ariana Grande’s connection with Ethan Slater has been the subject of ongoing discussion on social media due to its somewhat controversial nature.

For the first time since their relationship became public and divorce papers were filed, the two were recently seen spending time together at Disneyland.

Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater Spotted in Disneyland
The former Nickelodeon alum and the “Spongebob Squarepants: The Musical” actor were spotted touring the happiest place on earth earlier this week.

Photographs of them were sent to Deuxmoi, a renowned social media entertainment insider. In these images, the two were observed holding hands while dressed discreetly.

Although the photos do not reveal their faces, they were captured being escorted by a park attendant as they enjoyed the amusement park’s rides.

To maintain a low profile in the bustling amusement park, they both opted for loose-fitting sweatshirts and baseball hats.

The two have faced criticism on social media due to their relationship. Slater, who is married and has one child with his wife, entered into a relationship with Grande.

While it was stated in Grande and Dalton Gomez’s divorce documents that there was no overlap between her marriage to Gomez and her involvement with Slater, some have pointed out that Slater and his wife were still married at the time.

Earlier this month, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez officially initiated their divorce proceedings. According to the filings, Grande has requested the enforcement of their prenuptial agreement, with particular emphasis on her jewelry being recognized as separate property and assets.

Remarkably, despite their divorce, Grande and Gomez have maintained an amicable relationship.

On the contrary, the divorce between Ethan Slater and his wife appears to be more contentious.

Sources claimed that Jay was “completely blindsided” with her estranged husband’s relationship with the pop star.

Jay slammed Grande in a Page Six exclusive interview: “[Ariana’s] the story, really. Not a girl’s girl,” Jay told us at the time. “My family is just collateral damage.”

Ethan Slater files for divorce amid Ariana Grande romance

It has been reported that Ethan Slater, known for his role as Ariana Grande’s Wicked costar, has filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay. Slater submitted the divorce papers in New York on Wednesday, as confirmed by various news outlets.

Following the news of Slater’s divorce filing and his new romance with Ariana Grande, Lilly Jay has broken her silence on the matter.

And today, Jay told Page Six: “[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl.”

“My family is just collateral damage,” she added. “The story is her and Dalton.”

Slater and Jay have been married since 2018 and welcomed a baby son last August. Jay told Page Six she’s now focusing on raising their child and being “a good mom.”

Neither Ariana Grande nor Slater have publicly confirmed their relationship, but the news of Slater’s divorce comes weeks after sources said Grande had ended her two-year marriage to luxury real estate agent Dalton Gomez.

Insiders said the “Thank U, Next” singer and Gomez had been living separate lives since she temporarily moved to London to film Wicked—though their relationship issues started long before. While Grande has not addressed the breakup, she did remove her post from her Instagram about her and Gomez’s wedding.

A source close to Jay told TMZ that Slater’s wife was “completely blindsided” by his moving on with Grande and feels like Slater has “completely turned his back on his family.” She is “heartbroken” and feels “betrayed” by both her ex and Grande, whom Jay met when she and Slater were still together.

Meanwhile, a separate source told the outlet that “Ari and Ethan are just trying to lay low and be respectful of their exes as they pursue this new relationship.” The two reportedly began seeing each other “several months ago” after meeting on set.

As for Gomez’s thoughts on the situation, sources have not revealed much, though an insider did tell People that Grande and Gomez “have been quietly and lovingly working on their friendship” since their separation.

Ariana Grande and her husband separate after two years of marriage

Multiple reports indicate that American singer-songwriter Ariana Grande and her husband Dalton Gomez have separated after two years of marriage.

The couple has been separated since January, according to TMZ, which broke the news first. Earlier this year, People reported that the pair had separated.

The singer-actress has been in the U.K. filming the Wicked movies, and was spotted at Wimbledon on Sunday, July 16 in London without her wedding ring. In photos from the tennis championship, her fingers are bare as she sits next Andrew Garfield, Tom Hiddleston and her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.

The singer and the 27-year-old luxury real estate broker wed in a private ceremony in May 2021 after getting engaged in December 2020, about 10 months after they were first spotted together in February that year.

Gomez also appeared in the music video for “Stuck With U,” Grande’s lovey-dovey mid-pandemic collaboration with Justin Bieber.

The two kept their relationship mostly private, though Grande would occasionally share snaps of their life together on Instagram, including one Valentine’s Day post showing off their glamorous date night looks.

The last time she posted a picture of Gomez was in November 2022.

Prior to their reported split, they attempted to reconcile without success. TMZ, People and Entertainment Tonight also report that Grande and Gomez remain friends, and talk regularly over the phone.

The R.E.M. Beauty founder was previously engaged to Pete Davidson, though she and the comic called it quits in 2018. She’s also been linked to Big Sean and Mac Miller, who passed away in September 2018.

Stop body shaming -Ariana Grande to fans

American Singer Ariana Grande has called on fans to be “gentler and less comfortable” about remarking on her and other peoples’ bodies after recent scrutiny of her appearance on social media.

In a TikTok video, Ariana Grande said she had a body that is “paid such close attention to”, so “wanted to address” concerns.

It comes after some users commented on her apparent recent weight loss.

Grande said they were “comparing my current body” to “the unhealthiest version of my body”.

The 29-year-old US star explained: “I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.

“I know I shouldn’t have to explain that, but I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here will [mean] something good might come from it. I don’t know but that’s the first thing. Healthy can look different.”

    ‘Many different kinds of beautiful’

She continued: “The second thing is, you never know what someone is going through. Even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with.

“You never know. So be gentle with each other and with yourselves.”

Stressing that “there are many different kinds of beautiful,” Ariana Grande suggested fans should avoid making even “well-intentioned” remarks about how “healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, non-sexy” people may look.

“There are ways to compliment someone or to ignore something that you see that you don’t like, that I think we should help each other work towards,” she said. “We should aim toward being safer, and keeping each other safer.”

    ‘Many different kinds of beautiful’

Grande, known for pop hits such as One Last Time and Thank U, Next, is also an actress and is set to star as Glinda Upland in the forthcoming Wicked film, based on the musical of the same name.

Stressing that “there are many different kinds of beautiful,” she suggested fans should avoid making even “well-intentioned” remarks about how “healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, non-sexy” people may look.

“There are ways to compliment someone or to ignore something that you see that you don’t like, that I think we should help each other work towards,” she said. “We should aim toward being safer, and keeping each other safer.”

She has has previously opened up about her “anxiety” and mental health issues, especially following the Manchester Arena attack, when a suicide bomber killed 22 people after her concert in May 2017.

And she is not the only star to find her weight being widely discussed. Last month, Selena Gomez said there were reasons why someone’s body size and shape might change. In her case, lupus medication causes her to retain water.

“I just want people to know that you’re beautiful and you’re wonderful,” the 30-year-old singer and actress told her TikTok followers.

“And yeah we have days where maybe we feel like [rubbish] but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself, and my medications are important and I believe they are what helps me. So, yeah, [I’m] not a model, never will be.”

On Tuesday, some social media users criticised the body-shaming culture that prompted the videos from Gomez and Grande.

“Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande shouldn’t have to go on a public platform to explain their weight gain/loss because of abhorrent criticism,” posted one, adding: “It’s nasty, cruel and unfair especially today.”

In 2021, singer Adele told Vogue she was “disappointed” with the “brutal conversations” about her weight loss.

Around the same time, a similarly slimmed-down Jonah Hill urged his followers to refrain from commenting about his appearance.

“I know you mean well but I kindly ask that you do not comment on my body good or bad,” wrote the actor. “I want to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good.”

  • 15 dramatic musician hair changes & makeovers

From Doja Cat to The Weeknd, here’s a look at pop stars who’ve made major changes to their ‘dos.

Wild colors and shaved heads, oh my! Many of today’s most famous musicians have quite the penchant for making daringly drastic adjustments to their hairstyles — whether it’s to usher in a new era of music, accompany an avant-garde photo shoot, or just to try something new.

In some ways, musicians are just like many of us: using hair as a means of both self-expression and self-reinvention. Unlike the general public, however, celebrities’ cosmetic changes are put on display for the whole world to see, critique and copy. And sometimes, an artist’s hairstyle is so singular to a specific time that it becomes a part of their iconography.

When Swifties think of 1989, for example, they’re instantly taken back to the sleek, chin-length bob Taylor Swift sported from 2014 to 2016. Fans of The Weeknd can count the moment he parted ways with his iconic dreadlocks as the beginning of his Starboy era, while Billie Eilish admirers will forever equate bleach blonde tresses to her sophomore record Happier Than Ever.

Other times, though, an artist may change up their look for much more personal reasons. Take Demi Lovato, for instance, who cut off her long brown waves because it helped her recover from years of body image issues. And when Halsey got a buzz cut, it was symbolic of their journey toward self-love and accepting their biracial identity.

From Doja Cat’s head shave to Halsey’s ever-changing tresses, keep reading to see which modern pop stars have had some of the biggest hair transformations.

  • Drake and Ariana Grande’s record label drops the term ‘urban’

Republic Records, one of the most powerful record labels in the US, will stop using the word “urban” to describe music of black origin.

The company, which is home to Drake and Ariana Grande, says it will no longer use the term to describe “departments, employee titles and music genres”.

“We encourage the rest of the music industry to follow suit,” it added.

The term is often considered to be a generalization that marginalizes music by black artists.

“‘Urban’ is a lazy, inaccurate generalization of several culturally rich art forms,” radio presenter DJ Semtex told the magazine Music Business UK in 2018.

“I despise the word,” he added. “I know artists that do hip-hop, grime, or rap. I don’t know anyone that does urban music.

“The connotation of the word doesn’t hold a positive weight,” agreed Sam Taylor, a senior vice president at Kobalt Music, in an interview with Billboard in 2018.

“It’s downgrading R&B, soul and hip-hop’s incredible impact on music.”

The term dates back to the mid-1970s, when black New York radio DJ Frankie Crocker coined the phrase “urban contemporary” as a label for the eclectic mix of songs that he played – which covered everything from James Brown to Doris Day.

At the time, the label didn’t carry negative connotations but, after being shortened to “urban” it started being used as a catch-all for music created by black musicians – effectively lumping them into one category, regardless of genre.

Republic Records reflected the growing discomfort around the term in a statement announcing it would remove the word from its company vocabulary.

“‘Urban’ is rooted in the historical evolution of terms that sought to define black music,” it said.

“As with a lot of our history, the original connotation of the term urban was not deemed negative. However, over time the meaning and connotations of ‘urban’ have shifted and it developed into a generalisation of black people in many sectors of the music industry, including employees and music by black artists.

“While this change will not and does not affect any of our staff structurally, it will remove the use of this antiquated term.

“We encourage the rest of the music industry to consider following suit as it is important to shape the future of what we want it to look like, as to not adhere to the outdated structures of the past.”

    ‘Important step forward’

The label, whose roster also includes The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone and Taylor Swift, also announced the formation of an “action committee” to address social justice issues.

Management company Milk & Honey, whose songwriters have contributed to hits by Drake & Rick Ross, The Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa and Selena Gomez also declared it would “formally eliminate the term ‘urban’ at our company”.

In a statement posted to social media, it said: “We will no longer be using the term as we believe it’s an important step forward, and an outdated word, which has no place in 2020 onwards.”

The move comes in the wake of widespread protests in the US and UK over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis two weeks ago,

A white police officer was filmed kneeling on Mr Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes, while the 46-year-old repeated several times, “I can’t breathe”. He was later pronounced dead in hospital.

His death prompted hundreds of thousands to take to the streets demanding racial justice.

The music industry responded by pausing work for a day last week, with Universal Music – Republic Records’ parent company – establishing a “task force to accelerate our efforts in areas such as inclusion and social justice”.

However, others have said the industry needs widespread systemic change, rather than “window dressing”.

“Why is it that black music generates millions and millions of dollars a year and yet none of the companies have a meaningful number of employees of colour, let alone in the executive suite?” asked senior music industry lawyer Ronald E. Sweeney in an open letter published on Sunday.

Sweeney, who has represented the likes of James Brown, P Diddy and Public Enemy, drew up a 12-point plan to address what he called “the elephant in the room”, including equal pay and the creation of a three-year programme to train people from minority backgrounds for executive roles.

“[This] is what meaningful and real change looks like,” he wrote. “So, let’s see what you do.”

  • Ariana Grande reflects on Manchester bombing ahead of anniversary

Ariana Grande has sent a heartfelt message to fans ahead of the third anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing.

The pop star had just finished playing at the venue on 22 May, 2017, when a terrorist detonated a homemade explosive device, killing 22 people.

Writing on Instagram, Grande shared a message of solidarity with the victims.

“Not a day goes by that this doesn’t affect you and all of us still,” the 26-year-old wrote.

“I will be thinking of you all week and weekend.”

Acknowledging “the sadness and tremendous heaviness of the anniversary”, she added: “My heart, thoughts, prayers are with you always.”

The star signed off with a black heart and a bee emoji. The bee, representing Manchester’s industrial past, became a symbol of hope in the wake of the attack.

Grande, who said she suffered PTSD as a result of the atrocity, returned to Manchester last year to headline the city’s Pride festival.

Memorial plans The bombing was carried out by Manchester-born Salman Abedi. The youngest of those who died was eight years old. Almost 1,000 people were injured.

The terrorist’s brother, Hashem Abedi, was convicted of murder earlier this year for his role in planning the attacks. His sentencing has been postponed due to travel restrictions in place due to the coronavirus.

The pandemic has also affected plans for this year’s memorial to the victims, with social-distancing measures putting a halt on church services.

It means Manchester Cathedral will have to broadcast two services on its Facebook page, urging people to log on at home rather than attend in person like previous years.

“Before the restrictions, it was really important we had connectedness and reached out, family and friends, but also the wider community, to come together,” said Figen Murray, whose son Martyn Hett died in the attack.

“We can’t do that this year. It’s going to be very strange.

“I’m normally a really robust and resilient person, but I’ve had so much time on my hands. I’m struggling a bit.

“I can’t have people to visit, it is very raw. I have noticed I am very reflective, I dream a lot.”

Instead, Mr Hett’s family and friends will join a group chat on the video conferencing app Zoom, raising a toast to the 29-year-old PR manager from their homes.

Mrs Murray said: “Zoom will do this year. Since the pandemic, we have all had to adapt and I think that shows how strong the human spirit is.”

  • Feud erupts over Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s US chart position

Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber have defended themselves after rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine accused them of buying the number one spot on the US chart.

The rapper claimed the pop stars had bought tens of thousands of copies of their charity single Stuck With U to boost its position.

He also said some streams of his song Gooba were improperly discounted, leaving it in third place on the chart.

Grande, Bieber and chart compilers Billboard have all denied the claims.

Bieber called the rapper’s accusations “a lie”, while Grande advised him to “take a moment to humble yourself”.

Billboard posted a lengthy article refuting each of his points while explaining how the chart positions were calculated.

“Overall, Stuck With U drew 28.1 million US streams, 26.3 million in radio airplay audience and 108,000 sold in the tracking week,” it explained.

“Gooba had 55.3 million US streams, 172,000 in radio airplay audience and 24,000 sold.

“Those sums resulted in the songs’ respective rankings on this week’s Hot 100.”
