  • The claims of hardship in Ghana are cosmetic, Ghanaian youth are chilling – Omane Acheampong

The claims of hardship in Ghana are cosmetic, Ghanaian youth are chilling – Omane Acheampong

Award-winning musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong has dismissed allegations of widespread hardship in Ghana, arguing that these claims are merely fabrications by the opposition to discredit the current government.

He believes that the portrayal of hardship is exaggerated and not reflective of the true situation on the ground.

Speaking on Fox FM during the NPP manifesto launch, Acheampong challenged the notion of hardship by encouraging doubters to visit pubs and lounges at night, where, according to him, the vibrant social life of Ghanaian youth proves otherwise.

He acknowledged that the post-COVID recovery has been challenging but emphasized that these difficulties are part of a global trend, not unique to Ghana.

“The claims of hardship in Ghana is cosmetic and a figment of their imagination. If you think there is hardship in Ghana, visit pubs and lounges at night and you’ll see how Ghanaian youth are chilling at night.

“This is a clear indication that there is no hardship. I acknowledge that after COVID things have not been the same but that is a global phenomenon.”

Navalny: The award-winning film documenting a life and possible death

In the award-winning 2022 documentary “Navalny,” Canadian director Daniel Roher engages in a poignant exchange with Russian political activist Alexei Navalny.

The first question posed to Navalny, “If you are killed, if this does happen, what message do you leave behind to the Russian people?” sets a solemn tone.

Navalny’s subsequent response, “Come on Daniel, no,” with a smile, now carries a weighty significance following his tragic demise in a Russian prison.

The film, which unfolds Navalny’s investigation into his poisoning with the nerve agent Novichok, captures his resilience amidst peril. Despite facing grave danger in Russia, Navalny’s resolve remains unyielding.

Roher reflects on the profound impact of his friendship with Navalny during the filmmaking process. Their bond, built on mutual respect and humor, provided moments of levity amidst the gravity of the subject matter.

The documentary chronicles Navalny’s harrowing ordeal, from his collapse on a flight to his eventual arrest upon returning to Russia. It captures the tension of Navalny’s return and his subsequent imprisonment, juxtaposed with intimate moments spent with his family.

Throughout the film, the specter of Navalny’s mortality looms large. In a poignant scene, Navalny acknowledges the possibility of his demise, remarking on Roher’s filming with a wry humor tinged with resignation.

Released before his death, “Navalny” garnered acclaim for its gripping portrayal of Navalny’s courage and determination. Now, in the wake of his passing, the film serves as a poignant testament to his legacy.

In the final scene, Navalny’s words resonate with a haunting significance. “We don’t realize how strong we actually are… Don’t be inactive,” he urges, leaving behind a powerful message for the Russian people.

Mr Roher says that making the film has changed his life.

“It had such a profound impact on me as a human being,” he said.

“When I think about his life, it will remind me that no matter what situation life throws at you … if you have levity and you do not lose your humanity – keep laughing, keep writing your wife’s Valentines Day messages – everything will be better.

“Everything isn’t going to be okay for Alexei as we know, but his life is a masterclass in courage and resilience, and light in dark.”

  • The world is depressed so I wanted to spread the gospel of ‘Enjoyment’ – S3fa on new release

Award-winning Ghanaian singer, Sefa has shared the thought process behind her latest single release dubbed “Enjoyment”.

According to her, the past few months have been challenging for people all over the world particularly, Ghanaians. Hence she needed to introduce a sound and an escape for people to feel free “from a world of stress and depression”.

In an interview on Y107.9 FM’s “Dryve of Your Lyfe” with Kojo Manuel, she considered this year as a sensitive period and therefore she needed a song to “preach to people to live life despite its complications.”

“You can never have enough of enjoyment you know and like I said this year has been very difficult for everybody and I think this is not the time to remind people of their pains. This is not the time to release something to depress people more. I needed to release something that will give people a little bit of excitement and hope and when they listen they’ll just move with the vibes rather than think through the lines,” she shared.

“I just think that for me I’m spreading the gospel of enjoyment and living life. Life is just one and I mean there’s nothing we can do about it. Enjoyment is all about living the live, living in the moment because life comes at you fast. Let’s calm ourselves with this songs and say enough to the overthinking and depressions,” she continued.

Having had a boisterous year touring cities in Europe and the States, S3fa has returned to Ghana and is already prep for the epic December festivities in the country.

The singer has dropped another banger titled, ‘Enjoyment’ available on all music download and streaming platforms.

  • Diana Hamilton praises God for ‘miraculous’ recovery with new song

Award-winning gospel musician Diana Hamilton is out with a new song titled ‘My Meditation’ as a show of gratitude to her maker.

In an interview with Quophi Okyeame, the host of Angel drive on Angel FM, she explained that her song is in appreciation of God’s healing when she fell ill.

According to her, she fell seriously sick last year but doctors did not know what was wrong with her. So they did not diagnose her with any medication but told her she had an inflammation infection.

She was later asked to go for a Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. The doctor after conducting the scan and other tests disclosed that there was nothing wrong with her.

She said after the doctor disclosed the results to her, she sat on the hospital bed wondering how to show gratitude to God and thus allowed her heart to do the talking.

“In the evening, the doctor said Diana there is nothing wrong [with you], one of the antibiotics have finally kicked in and now your infection markers are coming down…tomorrow you can start eating…I wanted to thank God but I realised that thank you is not enough…words fail me when it comes to God because what God has done for me is beyond my imagination…”

According to her, she believes her ministry as a worship and praise leader has a key impact on people’s lives.
