On Wednesday, the body of a woman, believed to be in her early 30s, was discovered at Ekumfi Ekumpoano beach in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.
Disturbingly, certain parts of her body, such as her head, genitalia, and intestines, had been forcibly removed, indicating a gruesome act of violence.
Residents suspect that she was murdered and dismembered by her attackers before her body was discarded into the sea.
Although her identity was unclear due to her decomposing body, the locals think she might have been a student.
Prior to the body being handled, the town’s elders offered libations and other sacrifices.
The body was then taken to the mortuary for identification, preservation, and autopsy by police and NDO representatives.
The public is being urged by the police and locals to assist in identifying the deceased person’s family.
Following their elimination in the quarter-finals, Ghana’s beach volleyball players are now tending to blisters incurred from competing in the scorching hot sand without protective sand socks.
Ghana experienced defeats in their quarter-final matches against Morocco and Mozambique in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
Speaking to JoySports after Wednesday’s loss to Morocco, Ajanako said: “All our toes are full of blisters because of the heat of the sand. That can also affect you.
“We didn’t get the sand socks to wear because they told us there’s a shipment coming and it has been delayed.”
Corporal Juliana Aryee, a member of the women’s team, corroborated Ajanako’s statements.
“We requested for all those material; shades, sand socks and training apparels, but unfortunately, we didn’t get them.”
Although sand socks and other items were not provided due to shipment delays, the Sports Ministry and the Federation managed to supply the team with jerseys and sunglasses.
Ajanako, who has been competing for Ghana since 2007, expressed appreciation for the efforts to provide professional support services but noted that they should have been included in the team’s preparations.
“Everything is well in the (Games) Village. But that should’ve been the case in camp before the games.”
“The massage therapists, the nutritionists, and others should have been with us (from the beginning),” he concluded.
An Okada rider narrowly avoided a mob attack after inadvertently striking and killing a White man’s dog at the Nungua Coco Beach on Sunday morning (February 11, 2024).
The incident unfolded as a group of motorcyclists gathered at the beach, a customary practice for showcasing their riding abilities. In the midst of their activities, one rider, traveling at high speed, collided with one of three dogs present, resulting in the animal’s immediate demise.
Despite the gravity of the situation, the rider managed to evade the anger of the bystanders who had congregated, speculating on the potential repercussions had the victim been a beach goer instead.
According to reports from EIB Network Journalist, Murtala Inusah, who was present at the scene, officers from the Nungua District Headquarters arrived to investigate the incident and retrieve the motorbike after the dog’s owner filed a report.
Witnesses observed a woman, accompanying the distraught owner of the deceased dog, shedding tears uncontrollably as she mourned the loss of the pet. Eventually, the owner removed the dog’s body from the scene for burial.
Kourtney Kardashian is facing strong criticism online for sharing beach images while devastating wildfires have ravaged Maui.
The star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians displayed her baby bump with pride in the pictures captured on the sandy shores of Montecito. She also included snapshots of the ocean as seen from her balcony.
However, fans have expressed their disapproval toward the 44-year-old, advising her to be more sensitive given the circumstances. This reaction comes as a response to her caption, which reads: ‘The ocean calms the fire in me’.
Amidst the evacuation of locals from the fire-stricken island, the aftermath of the blaze has resulted in a confirmed death toll of fifty-five individuals, while another 1,000 individuals are still unaccounted for three days after the wildfire occurred.
The fire, which began on Tuesday, spread through Lahaina ferociously, torching almost every building in its path.
Kardashian – who is pregnant with her fourth child – shared updates from a vacation just hours after wildfires broke out.
Hundreds of people shared their thoughts under the post, claiming she was being ‘insensitive’ to the world around her.
‘Maybe not the best time to say the ocean calms the fire when people in Hawaii were forced into the ocean because of a fire,’ one person said.
A woman who claimed to be a Lahaina local hit out at the reality star for not considering how her words might be perceived at a time of crisis.
‘Except when you’re forced to jump into the ocean.
‘Because you and your car have been engulfed in flames as you try to escape the fire that’s burning down your home.
‘I know you’re just a celebrity and you won’t even respond to this, but my entire town just burnt to the ground and it’s like the people who have the ability to help just pretend not to know what’s going on.’
Another bluntly stated: ‘That’s a really inappropriate caption, jeeez’.
‘Girl, read the room,’ someone said.
Laurie Somers added: I wonder if you all have thought about the people of Maui?
“You seem very insensitive.
‘Do we really care about your baby bump when the people of Maui are suffering? Really?’
‘Terrible timing for a terrible caption,” one more added.
It occurs as frightening new video of dozens of Hawaiians struggling in the rough ocean after diving in to escape the catastrophic wildfire has just surfaced.
In a desperate attempt to survive, terrified locals hurried towards the waterfront and dove into the water.

After some viral videos and photos of Ghanaians revelers living in Tema and its environs having a lot of fun at the Tema Titanic beach yesterday, March 22, 2020, despite the ban on social gathering in the wake of fears of the coronavirus disease hit online, the Ghana Tourism Authority has acted.
In a statement that has been sighted by zionfelix.net, the GTA has called for the immediate closure of all beaches across the country as part of measures to deal with the spread of coronavirus.
The closure takes effect from tomorrow March 24, 2020, and it will see police officers patrolling the major beaches to ensure strict adherence to this order.
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has given operators of the La Pleasure Beach in Accra a 15-day ultimatum to produce proof that they were operating with the required documents or else the facility would be closed down.
The documents in demand include an evacuation plan, a Fire Service Certificate, Environmental Protection Agency permit and police clearance certificate.
The Chief Executive Officer of the GTA, Mr Akwasi Agyemang, gave the deadline when he and some directors and officers of the authority visited the La beach facility and others along the Accra-Tema beach front last Friday, September 6, as part of their inspection tour of some beaches to ensure they were up to standard.
The GTA intends to weed out illegal operators who do not meet the minimum standards set by the law.
According to Mr Agyemang, the La Pleasure Beach had become one of the biggest tourist sites in Accra but the safety of visitors could not be guaranteed due to the absence of an evacuation plan and other permits which allowed it to operate as a public facility.
“We came here about a year ago and we put together a plan of action that we thought could work in the mutual interest of all parties. We have seen that there has been some relapse on the part of management,†Mr Agyemang said.
“We are giving them a 15-day ultimatum to provide certain answers, the most important among them being the fire certificate and the evacuation plan. These are the minimum requirements for opening up a public facility. This is one of the biggest beaches in Accra and we need to ensure that there is enough safety for visitors as well as the workers,†he added.
He allayed fears that such harsh actions could cripple the progress of the facility, adding that “we are mindful of the high patronage of this facility and the revenue it accrues for the country so our intentions are not to collapse it but only that the right thing is done.â€
Mr Agyemang also indicated that his outfit was ready to engage with the management of the facility to ensure that the right standards were upheld.
Improved sanitation
He also expressed delight at the improvement in sanitation at the beach, indicating that there had been progress as compared to the last time they visited the facility.
He commended the management for such an effort and urged them to continue and clear all the filth from the beach.
Other places visited
The team also visited the Titanic Beach at Sakumono and Mr Agyemang stated that the GTA would collaborate with the assembly to ensure that the place did not become a slum beach.
He added that “much attention needs to be paid and we need to lay out a proper master plan else people might erect illegal structures and cause haphazard development.â€
