    South African rapper Shebeshxt mourns 9-year-old daughter

    South African rapper Shebeshxt is mourning the tragic loss of his nine-year-old daughter, Onthatile, who passed away in a car accident.

    On Monday, the rapper expressed his profound grief in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, “My life will never be the same without your presence.”

    Reports from the BBC detailed that Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, was traveling with three passengers to perform at the African National Congress (ANC) Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert in Limpopo province on Saturday when their car collided with a heavy vehicle and overturned.

    The devastating crash not only claimed the life of his daughter but also resulted in Shebeshxt losing his foot. He shared his heartbreak on X, writing, “My heart is so so broken.. I’m trying to adjust to the accident that left me in trauma and so many tears. Losing my feet was enough, not to lose my daughter.”

    Fans and the South African music community have extended their condolences and support. The Limpopo Artists Movement (LAM) released a statement on Monday, expressing their sympathy: “We cannot imagine the pain and grief they must be experiencing, but we want them to know that they are not alone. The entire artistic community stands in solidarity with them, offering comfort and support. Shebe is not only a talented artist but also a valued member of our creative fraternity.”

    Videos of the accident have been circulating online, one showing Shebeshxt lying on the ground while paramedics attended to him.

    Tidimalo Chuene, spokesperson for the transport department in Limpopo, informed local media that the cause of the crash is under investigation.

    This recent incident marks the second car accident Shebeshxt has experienced this year. In January, he was involved in a crash that left him unharmed but damaged his vehicle.

    Two individuals have been rushed to Kasoa Polyclinic in critical condition after being struck by a Toyota Corolla whose driver lost control.

    The incident occurred as the victims were waiting for a commercial vehicle at Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, according to reports.

    Joseph Akrashie, the Assemblyman for Domeabra Electoral Area, confirmed the accident to Adom News, providing details about the unfolding circumstances.

    The driver, identified as an Immigration officer, attempted to overtake the vehicle ahead but tragically lost control, colliding with pedestrians patiently awaiting transportation.

    Following the incident, the Toyota Corolla not only collided with another car but also crashed into a watermelon seller’s stall, adding complexity to the situation.

    Mr. Akrashie conveyed that the injured victims were promptly transported to the hospital for necessary medical attention.

    Additionally, law enforcement officers have towed the involved vehicles to the Amanfrom Police station.

    Mario Balotelli survived a near-death experience after getting involved in a major car crash in Brescia, Italy.


    The ex-Manchester City forward emerged unscathed from an incident but was observed walking with difficulty afterward.

    The mishap occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on November 23 when he lost control of his Audi, colliding with a wall.

    According to Sky Sports Italia, the former Manchester City striker declined to undergo a breathalyser test when the police arrived, resulting in the seizure of his driver’s licence.

    Following the crash, reports indicate that he exited the car and lay on the ground, awaiting assistance.

    Currently back in Italy from his Turkish club, Adana Demirspor, where he is recuperating from an injury, the 33-year-old has expressed his determination to vie for a spot in the Italian national team, asserting that he is the country’s premier striker.


    “If I’m well, I still consider myself the strongest. Did [Giacomo] Raspadori and [Gianluca] Scamacca play? How many shots did they take combined? Two? I want to recover and play for the national team. I always hope for the call,” he said.

    The accident occurred on the A5 road close to Burbage in Leicestershire shortly before 4. 30pm on Friday

    The man who was driving the car, who is in his thirties, and a little boy who is nine years old were declared dead right where the accident occurred.

    Two more people, a woman who is in her 30s and a four-year-old girl, were quickly taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, the girl passed away soon after.

    The woman is currently in the hospital. She is in a serious condition, but her condition is not getting worse.

    The driver of the big truck was not badly hurt in the accident.

    Detective Constable Anna Andrew expressed that this is a very sad and tragic event. Our condolences go out to the people who have passed away, their families, and everyone else who was involved or affected by this incident.

    Emergency workers came to the area, and we appreciate that people from the public also helped when the accident occurred. We want to thank everyone who responded and assisted in this terrible and very upsetting situation.

    We are helping and investigating the collision to find out everything about what happened. We are also supporting the families of the people involved.

    The police want to talk to anyone who saw the accident or has a recording from their car’s dashboard camera.

    On Friday, a significant number of people were injured when a tipper truck lost control, failed to brake, and crashed into the bustling Asamankese lorry station.

    An eyewitness, Philip McCain, who spoke to Adom News said the truck is suspected to have failed its brakes.

    He said aside from dragging some cars along, it also rammed into over 10 vehicles loaded with passengers.

    “Many vehicles were destroyed and the passengers were also injured and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” he added.

    Mr McCain said some of the passengers were feared dead due to the severity of their injuries.

    Police in Somanya are holding a suspect in relation to the death of Eric Narh Aglazo, the assembly member for Sra electoral area.The deceased met his untimely death in a car accident on Monday, April 10, 2023.

    Police started investigation almost immediately after news emerged that the assemblyman who was riding on his motorbike had been hit a speeding vehicle leading to his death.

    The incident took place on Easter Monday in front of the Kings Pizza in Somanya.

    Although the length of the road from Trom via Somanya to Nuaso has had an asphalt overlay since 2016, there are no road markings or signs, despite the fact that a lot of schools are located along that route, a Citi News report stated.

    Police are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the collision and or the release details of the suspect.

    ‘Jonny was the person who lit up any room. He was so loved by everyone that met him’, his family said in a statement.

    They added: ‘A loving partner, father, son and brother, we will miss him endlessly. As his partner I have lost my whole life.’

    Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, which took place at around 11.10pm on Monday, February 13 on Decoy Drive.

    Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw any suspicious driving in the area around that time or has relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, is asked to contact police online or via 101, quoting Operation Brinmore.

    Kissi (2nd Accused) and Omane (3rd Accused) who were present in court pleaded not guilty while Emmanuel Kofi Gyasi (4th Accused) was absent. The fifth Accused said to be Andy (5th Accused) is at large.

    They have all been granted bail with the sum of GHc100,000.00 with three sureties each. They are expected to reappear on March 8, 2023.

    In a horrifying tragedy at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, two cars have burned beyond repair.

    The collision between a Benz and a Toyota V8 Land Cruiser happened on Thursday in the afternoon.

    Occupants of the vehicle, however, escaped unhurt.

    The first vehicle is said to have caught fire at the onion Market on the Kasoa Cape Coast Highway while the other car also got burnt at Gomoa Dominase Junction.

    In an interview with Adom News, a driver of one of the vehicles, Ato Yorson said he lost GHS 4,000 and his wine to the accident.

    The cause, according to him, is, however, yet to be determined, adding he is still in shock as to how the vehicle caught fire.

    With the intervention of the Winneba Municipal Fire officers led by Anthony Nyarko the fire was doused but there was nothing for the occupants to salvage.

  • Former Ghana Premier League star involved in a car crash in US

    Reports reveal that former AshantiGold SC striker Emmanuel Baffour is in critical condition with serious injuries following a car accident in Maryland, USA.

    Baffour was returning from his usual night shift job when the unfortunate incident occurred.

    The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the scene of a collision on Briggs Chaney Road and Great Oak Lane in Cloverly around 6:30 am on Wednesday morning.

    According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS, three patients were transported to the hospital, one adult [Baffour] with Priority 1 trauma (life-threatening) and two with Priority 3 trauma.

    Baffour had to be extricated from his grey Nissan Sentra after being trapped inside of the vehicle.

    The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.

     

    Baffour was one of the most prominent players for New Edubiase during the 2012 Ghana Premier League.

    The 33-year-old clinched the top scorers gong with 21 goals as Edubiase finished 8th on the standings.

    He made a solitary appearance for the Ghana Black Stars in 2012.

    Two persons were confirmed dead Saturday evening when the car they were travelling in got involved in an accident at Dominase near Komenda Junction in the Central Region.

    Central Regional PRO of the Ghana National Fire Service, Assistant Division Officer 1 Abdul Wasiu Hudu who confirmed the incident to TV3 said the car burst a tyre, causing it to veer off the road into the bush.

    He was unable to tell the actual number of persons that sustained some degrees of injuries because they were rushed to hospital before the arrival of the fire personnel.

    Mr. Wasiu Hudu told Grace Hammoah Asare on News@10 the personnel had it hectic retrieving the dead from the mangled minibus.

    According to him, there was a beehive at where the vehicle fell, so personnel who initially went to close were attacked by the bees so they had to retreat. They had to resort to spraying the bees with water to enable them to retrieve the bodies and pull out the car.

    Responding to question on concern the service has regarding the handling of accident victims by untrained persons, the fire officer said a programme is being finalized to address that concern.

    Under that the programme, residents who live along highways would be given basic training in first aid so that they would be able to assist accident victims and reduce the fatalities hitherto caused by poor handling of victims.
