    “I hate men!” – Cardi B

Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has sparked fresh controversy after making explosive remarks during a heated rant on X Spaces, where she threatened to rob men again and declared her dislike for them.

The outburst comes amid growing public scrutiny surrounding the 33-year-old artiste, who has recently been linked to multiple controversies, including allegations involving her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, and claims made against her father, Carlos Almánzar.

Addressing the issues in a series of comments on X Spaces on Monday, January 5, Cardi B strongly dismissed the allegations circulating online, describing the individuals spreading them as perverted and disturbed.

“Y’all the type of motherfuckers that probably be having fucking kid porn on y’all’s motherfuckucking cell phones, because y’all motherfuckers is deranged,” Cardi B said.

She went on to label her critics as “predators” and warned that she was prepared to escalate matters if necessary.

Cardi also pushed back against accusations of hypocrisy tied to her past admission of drugging and robbing men before she became famous.

“And for y’all to be talking about, ‘Oh, she drugged and robbed…’ I’ll rob n***as again. I don’t give a fuck,” she said around the 25-minute mark. “And I’ll rob them for real…I hate men, and I don’t give a fuck. … Find me a fucking mugshot. I don’t give a fuck.”

The comments revive a long-standing debate stemming from a 2019 Instagram Live session in which Cardi B openly spoke about drugging and robbing men in hotel rooms during a period when she worked as an exotic dancer.

Following backlash online, the rapper took to X again, clashing with a user who described her as someone who had “always been a street bitch.”

“Ya be glorifying this street rappers that talk and do that grimmey street shit but they can’t stand a street bitch!” she wrote.

Cardi B also addressed claims made about her father after Grok alleged that Carlos Almánzar served five years in Nassau County for attempted rape in 1993. She firmly denied the allegation, stating that her father has “never been arrested in this country.”

“I don’t know why yall like playing these games just for you to be fake mad when I post who got those real mugshots, real evidence, AND REAL cases for rape,” she tweeted. “stop playing wit me and my family and leave me the fck alone fr before I start some shit today.”

The rapper’s remarks have since fueled intense debate online, with supporters and critics continuing to clash over her comments and past admissions.

Last year, she has revealed that the process to divorce her estranged husband, Offset has stalled because of his demands from her, such as money and properties.

During a livestream on X spaces on Monday, the 32-year-old confidently stated that she will not succumb to those demands.

“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” the Grammy-winning rapper stated without mentioning Offset’s name. “Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’mma fight for that. This is no love shit. I’m not gonna stop living my life,” Cardi B stated.

It is alleged that Cardi B spilled the tea over backlash from netizens because she has already moved on with another man, Stefon Diggs and is expecting a baby with him.

In 2023, Cardi B responded to public accusations of adultery made by her husband, Offset. The situation garnered attention as both parties navigate the challenges within their relationship.

Offset stated in an Instagram post uploaded on his official Instagram account that his wife slept with a man behind his back.

“My wife fcked a nigga on me gang yall nigga know how I come,” Offset said.

Cardi B fashioned a song out of her answer on Twitter, implying that her husband was accusing her of the same thing he does.

The couple’s relationship has been rocky in the past, with multiple public breakups and reconciliations.

Cardi B had stated that if she ever divorced her spouse, she would write hit songs about the event. She further stated that if they divorced, she would marry another wealthy man.

Cardi B went on to advise her fans not to lend their ears to Offset’s words. She emphasized that he was attempting to shift blame onto her for actions he knew he was guilty of. Urging her followers not to pay attention to Offset’s words, she dismissed him as a mere “country man.”

She asserted her identity as Cardi B and reminded everyone that she was not just anybody.

Cardi B confidently stated that if she were involved with anyone intimately, she would make it known, highlighting her refusal to engage in clandestine amorous affairs.

    In her words:

“You can’t accuse me of the things you know you are guilty of and I see that it’s easy for you to blame everything on me.

“Don’t pay attention to that country man you all.

“Come on now, I’m Cardi B and I think motherfuckers forget I’m Cardi B. If I was giving out my body to anybody, it would be out. I’m not just anybody.”

Netizens have reacted to the incident, with many expressing sympathy for Cardi B and condemning her husband’s actions.

Others said Offset can’t handle everything he throws at her and that he should be more understanding of his wife’s career.

authentik_fitwears said: “She said she’s gon upgrade dude.”

callmedamy said: “Let the divorce begins.”

captain__linda said: “Did I hear her say upgrade.”

ndukauba_anthonia commented: “So he can’t work it out with her? Seek counselling, maybe he’s gained extra weight or maybe doesn’t know better ways of satisfying her…”

king_mayorblack reacted: “Man had a taste of his medicine.”

iam_veekee_ reacted: “Most Nigerian men deserves a character like cardi B.”

evelyn_ xX said: “Pray for your wife. Be a good husband.”

worha sonia said: “The day offset married Cardi B he married both gold and thorn, he should pick which one he wants to live with.”

In 2023, Cardi B announced she had broken up with her spouse, rapper Offset.

She revealed in an Instagram Live that she had been dropping hints that she and her partner are no longer together on social media.

“I’ve been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to like… not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign,” she said. “The last time I got on Live, I kind of wanted to tell you guys. But I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.”

The “sign” she was referring to was some online messiness in which Offset’s name was part of an allegation of infidelity that he has denied on social media.

“I don’t think it’s true, I don’t care to find out,” Cardi B said of the chatter.

It seems like she would prefer to concentrate on the future.

“I want to start 2024, like, fresh, open,” she said during the IG Live. “I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”

In October 2017, the pair publicly announced their engagement when he proposed to her onstage. Subsequently, it was disclosed that they had privately tied the knot in his hometown of Atlanta in September of the same year.

Together, they share a daughter named Kulture, aged 5, and a son named Wave, aged 2.

Cardi B. and Offset have experienced multiple separations in the past, notably in 2018 when he made a grand gesture by crashing her performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles to plead for her reconciliation.

Court declares Cardi B not guilty of assault allegation

Rapper Cardi B has been declared not guilty by a Los Angeles jury in a high-profile civil lawsuit.

The rapper was accused of assault and battery during a 2018 nightclub incidence.

But the case officially ended with the verdict announced on Tuesday, September 2.

Speaking to reporters outside court, Cardi B told the reporters the same key points she had argued in her defense during the trial.

“First things first, I want to thank my lawyers. I want to thank the jurors. I want to thank the judge, and I want to thank the respectful press. I really, really appreciate that and I want to thank everybody at home supporting me,” she said.

Cardi B stressed the personal toll the trial took. “I know you guys having a little key with the moment but to be honest with you, I have missed my kids first day of school today. I missed my kids last day, last week of school yesterday because of this and I’m not even playing around,” she told reporters.

The plaintiff, Emani Ellis had sought roughly 24 million US dollars, saying the alleged attack left her with physical and psychological injuries and harmed her career.

During the trial the woman described being struck and pushed during the confrontation at a Los Angeles club.

She went back to the straightforward denial she had given on the stand. “I will, even if I’m in my deathbed, I swear to God, I will say it in my deathbed. I did not touch that woman. I did not touch that girl,” she stressed.

The singer also used the opportunity to caution others against bringing what she called baseless claims.

“The next person to try to do a frivolous lawsuit against me, I’m going to counter sue and I’m going to make you pay because this is not okay,” she said, adding a firm defence of her hard-earned income. “Don’t ever think that I’m just going to give you my money that I work hard for.”

At the same time, Cardi B urged her fans to show restraint.

“I do also want fans at home though not to find their social media, her family social media, her social media and bother her. I hope that this is something that I leave behind, that she leave behind. Don’t go bother her,” she appealed.

In 2023, Cardi B announced breakup with her spouse, rapper Offset.

She revealed in a recent Instagram Live that she had been dropping hints on social media that she and her partner were no longer together.

The “sign” she was referring to was some online business in which Offset’s name was part of an allegation of infidelity that he has denied on social media.

“I don’t think it’s true, I don’t care to find out,” Cardi B said of the chatter.

“It seems like she would prefer to concentrate on the future.”

Cardi B. and Offset have experienced multiple separations in the past, notably in 2018 when he made a grand gesture by crashing her performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles to plead for her reconciliation.

In a similar development in July, music producer and rapper, Sean “Diddy” Combs, was judged not guilty of sex trafficking and being part of a criminal gang by a U.S jury.

However, he was found guilty of bringing women across state lines for prostitution.

The verdict came on Tuesday, July 2, in New York after a high-profile trial that started in May.

The jury spent three days and over 13 hours discussing the case before agreeing on all five charges.

The jury found Combs not guilty of being part of a criminal group (racketeering) and not guilty of sex trafficking singer, Cassie Ventura.

However, he was found guilty of transporting Cassie and other women for ptrostitution.

He was also cleared of sex trafficking another woman referred to as “Jane,” but was found guilty of transporting her and others for prostitution.

The charges came from the testimonies of Cassie and Jane, both of whom had romantic relationships with Combs.

They spoke in Court about being taken to hotels where Combs allegedly arranged for other men to have sex with them while he watched, filmed or gave directions, calling these events “freak-offs” or “hotel nights.”

Before the verdict was announced, Combs was seen praying with his children and hugging his lawyers.

In the room where many were watching, emotions were high and people reacted audibly as each decision was read, even though the judge had asked for silence.

Combs has been in jail since his arrest in September 2024.

Although he was cleared of the most serious charges, his lawyers believe the guilty verdicts shouldn’t stop him from being granted bail.

Cardi B explains why she doesn’t rap about personal struggles

American rapper Cardi B has candidly explained her decision to avoid inserting her most personal circumstances into her music. During an interview on Complex’s Hot Ones, the Bronx rap superstar discussed her choice to rap about what she wants, rather than what others believe she should include in her songs.

She mentioned that some people advise her to incorporate her pain and struggles into her music, but she believes that the masses may not be able to relate to her experiences. She expressed the view that the average person may have different priorities and concerns and might not connect with her personal struggles.

“A lot of people tell me I should put my pain, my struggle, in my music,” Cardi B began. “A lot of my pain, or struggles, or whatever the crap is going on, the masses might not be able to relate. The masses might not be able to relate. Like it’s like, oh my gosh, they’re tearing a new asshole on Twitter on me because I said this, this, and that.”

Cardi B indicated that she prefers to create music that is fun and entertaining, rather than focusing on addressing her challenges and personal issues in her songs. This approach allows her to make music that appeals to a wider audience and provides a sense of enjoyment and escape from the daily grind.

“I like fun. I like fun. So, I feel like, my intro, it should be like, just me popping my shit, me popping my shit, and then after that, iight let’s pop some puss. Pop my shit, then pop some puss!”

  • Cardi B reacts to Kanye West’s ‘Illuminati Plant’ comment

Kanye West referred to Cardi B as an Illuminati-backed artist who doesn’t write her own lyrics in a leaked video from around 2018, purportedly from a documentary featuring West discussing the rapper “Bongos.” In the recording, West stated, “Cardi B is an Illuminati plant.”

“She don’t write her raps,” he said before adding, “She’s just there to sound as ignorant as possible. She’s literally replaced Nicki Minaj purposely. That they put her there, and now she doesn’t know what to do. She has no idea what the f### is going on. She thinks it’s a blessing from the universe, it ain’t no f###### blessing.”

Upon learning about the leaked video, Cardi B responded by sharing a different video of Kanye West expressing positive sentiments about her. She posted a clip on X (formerly Twitter) where Ye spoke favorably about her during a 2022 interview with Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee.

“I always believed in her since she was on the show. Period,” the G.O.O.D. Music founder said, referencing Cardi’s stint on Love & Hip-Hop: New York.

She captioned her post simply with a red heart emoji.

The Grammy Award winner teamed up with Ye and Lil Durk in the 2022 song “Hot Sh*t.”

“I’m so happy that he gave me this verse. And I had a lot of conversations with Kanye West,” Cardi B explained to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in June 2022.

Nicki Minaj’s spouse on house arrest for threatening Cardi B’s husband

Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, received a “home detention program” sentence of “up to 120 days” following a video he posted, threatening rapper Offset, the husband of Cardi B as reported by the Los Angeles Times. Legal documents filed in the Central District of California revealed that Petty made these alleged threats “in the presence of someone with a criminal record.”

The contentious videos circulated on social media. In these clips, Petty and two others can be seen issuing threats while standing on a New York street. Petty can be heard saying, “Offset, where you at?” as he threatens to harm him.

In a separate video, a companion of Petty’s can be heard making ominous comments: “Plan that vacation, you should be planning your funeral.” Nonetheless, Offset, who is married to rapper Cardi B, downplayed these alleged threats as he boarded a private jet, according to his Instagram story, as per the Los Angeles Times.

The ongoing feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, the respective wives of Offset and Petty, dates back to a 2018 altercation at New York Fashion Week. Petty’s video surfaced a few days after Nicki Minaj hosted the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where Cardi B also performed.

Last year, Face2Face Africa reported that Petty received probation and home detention as part of his sentence after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in Los Angeles.

In 2020, Petty was arrested in California for failing to register as a sex offender upon entering the state. He pleaded guilty to the federal charge in 2021, leading to a three-year probation sentence and one year of in-home detention, along with a $55,000 fine, as stated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In 1995, Petty was sentenced to 18 to 54 months in prison after pleading guilty to the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. At the time of the incident, Petty was also 16 years old. He served four and a half years of his sentence before being released. However, the terms of his conviction require him to register as a sex offender whenever he relocates.

Following their marriage in October 2019, Petty and Nicki Minaj relocated to California.

Chef Bryant Williams, also known as Chef Baul, started cooking experiments when he was 8 years old.

He has worked in the hospitality sector for more than ten years. But over the years, he has learned about different cuisines on his own.

Having many siblings allowed him to experiment with different cooking techniques. At age 18, he started working as a dishwasher. A few months later, he asked the head chef if he could try cooking. He started working as a prep chef and fell in love with jobs like chopping onions.

Working with food became an outlet for him, giving him priceless alone time to think and make plans for his future. This made him realise how much he loved cooking for other people. He started to picture himself doing this every day and made the decision to start his own private catering company.

He established Chef Baul Catering in 2013, specialising in upscale catering with a focus on southern, Caribbean, and Asian cuisine. He became well-known in the music industry thanks to his delectable dishes and upbeat demeanour, which led to him working as a chef for well-known performers like Cardi B, Offset, Lil Baby, Kendrick Lamar, and Gucci Mane. He eventually accepted the position of personal tour chef for the rappers Migos during their global tour.

After enjoying his role as a personal chef on tour, Chef Baul decided to fulfill his dream of opening his first restaurant in 2019. His goal was to offer his heartfelt dishes in a sophisticated and cozy environment, according to Forbes.

Unfortunately, despite initial success, his restaurant venture quickly collapsed, resulting in the loss of the opportunity that was meant to transform his life. This setback led Chef Baul into a state of despair, causing him to lose not only his aspirations and savings but also his self-assurance. This difficult period eventually led him to homelessness.

In the midst of the gloom, Chef Baul experienced a significant turnaround when he crossed paths with Daniella “Ivy” Emillien. Ivy, a former celebrity hairstylist and the creator of The Ivy League Academy, a financial literacy program, played a pivotal role in his comeback. Through her program, hundreds of black-owned businesses have been able to secure over $1 million in business funding by harnessing the potential of good credit and tailored resources. Ivy, who later became Chef Baul’s wife, helped him rebuild his life thanks to her finance and business skills.

  • Microphone thrown by Cardi B auctioned for $100k

Microphone thrown by Cardi B auctioned for $100k

The microphone that rapper Cardi B famously threw into a crowd and made headlines for has since been sold on eBay for nearly $100,000 (£78,500).

It was auctioned by the owner of an audio equipment hire company, who said all profits would go to charity.

According to Scott Fisher, he had initially hoped that the bidding would top $5,000.

After a fan threw a drink at her during a concert in Las Vegas, it was captured on camera that Cardi threw the microphone. Police have said the star will not face charges.

The footage soon went viral, and the furore led Mr Fisher to list the infamous item for sale. Bidding eventually ended on $99,900.

Mr Fisher said the proceeds would go to veterans’ charity the Wounded Warrior Project, and Friendship Circle Las Vegas, which connects young volunteers with people with disabilities and special needs.

“I figured it would gain some attention nationally but the amount of news coverage has been staggering.”

He said he had verified that the mic on sale was indeed the one Cardi was using at the time.

“It’s standard procedure to mark all microphones and in-ear systems as to whom they ‘go to’ prior to soundcheck, to make sure the same person gets the correct items during the show,” he told CBS News.

“You could see white tape on the Cardi B mic in all the videos, and that is how we knew which mic was hers.”

  • US police drop battery investigation involving Cardi B

US police drop battery investigation involving Cardi B

Las Vegas Police have closed their criminal battery investigation into an incident involving rapper Cardi B, in which she threw a microphone at an individual in the crowd.

The incident took place over the past weekend when a member of the audience seemingly splashed water at the artist.

A video of the incident, showing the WAP star responding to the situation at Drai’s Beachclub, garnered significant attention on social media.

However, police have now announced that Cardi B will not be facing any charges due to “insufficient evidence” related to the case.

“After a thorough review of this case and with the consultation from the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, this case has been closed as having insufficient evidence,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement shared the PA news agency.

“No charges will be filed in relation to this case.”

The incident was captured from various viewpoints by numerous fans in the crowd, revealing security personnel gathering around the individual responsible for the act at the front of the audience, as they retrieved the rapper’s microphone.

Earlier footage from the concert depicted Cardi B requesting a different audience member to spray water on her from behind while she turned away from the crowd.

During a later segment of the performance, the 30-year-old artist clarified that the previous water spray had been initiated by her and directed at her back. In contrast, she objected to the other individual unexpectedly throwing water that struck her face.

Las Vegas police later confirmed that a show attendee had come forward to “report a battery”, but have now concluded that no crime was committed.

The microphone in question is now reportedly being auctioned off on eBay – reaching more than $99,000 so far – by the owner of an audio company.

Cardi B is widely recognized for her chart-topping tracks including “I Like It,” “Up,” “Bodak Yellow,” and the provocative bass-driven rap collaboration “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion.

She joins a growing list of performers who have experienced items being thrown onto the stage during their shows in recent months. This trend includes incidents involving Harry Styles, Pink, and Bebe Rexha.

During a performance, Bebe Rexha was hit by a phone thrown by an individual who claimed to find it humorous. The impact resulted in Rexha being taken to the hospital.

Harry Styles faced a similar situation when he was hit in the eye by a piece of candy during a concert in November. More recently, Pink was visibly surprised when a bag containing human ashes was hurled onto the stage.

Ava Max, known for her song “Sweet but Psycho,” was also slapped while performing, and country singer Kelsea Ballerini had a bracelet thrown at her.

Even Adele got in on the conversation, joking with her Las Vegas audience that she would “kill” anyone attempting to throw something at her during her performance.

The multi-award-winning American female rapper, Cardi B, was caught on a viral video during a beach concert where she aggressively threw her microphone at a fan in the crowd who had poured liquid on her.

The video, shared on Twitter by Daily Loud, has sparked various reactions as people expressed their concerns about the increasingly common practice of throwing things at performers during shows.

Many netizens criticized the behavior, emphasizing that it poses a safety risk to

  • Cardi B Cleared in copyright Lawsuit over ‘Raunchy’ Cover Art

Cardi B emerged victorious in a copyright infringement lawsuit involving her 2016 debut mixtape.

According to KABC, Kevin Michael Brophy sued the Bronx rapper over the cover art for Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1. The racy image showed Cardi sitting in the back of limo with a man’s head buried between her legs. Though the male model’s face was not show on the cover, his back featured a tiger and serpent tattoo that was added during the editing process. Lawyers for both parties said the distinct body art was found on the internet.

Brophy claimed the image was a misappropriation of his likeness, as the tattoos looked nearly identical to his own ink. His attorneys argued that the Photoshopped art has led many to believe that Brophy was the man on the cover; as a result, the man  suffered anxiety and reputational harm.

“It looks like I’m giving oral sex to somebody that’s not my wife, somebody that’s not my partner, and an image that I never signed off on, ever,” Brophy told the court. “Being a father of two and a devoted husband and a man of faith as well, this goes against everything that I stand for, and I would never ever sign off on something like this.”

“That’s a Black man with hair, and this is a white man with a shaven head,” Anderson said in court, as reported by Rolling Stone.

The attorney went on to say that they have “not identified any person, any member of the public, any friend who” mistook Brophy for the man on the cover—at least, not before he filed the lawsuit in 2017.

“That’s a self-inflicted wound,” Anderson continued. ”He caused that by identifying himself when no one else had identified him as being the person in the image.”

The defense acknowledged that the tattoos imposed on the model were found through a Google search, but said the design underwent significant altercations—so much so that it’s now considered a “newly created piece of art.”

On Friday, a federal jury ruled in Cardi’s favor, determining the cover art did not amount to an illicit use of Brophy’s likeness.

  • Cardi B and Madonna make peace after rapper slammed singer over “WAP” (UPDATE)

UPDATED 10/23, 9:20 p.m. ET: According to Jason Lee, he brokered the mending of fences between Cardi B and Madonna.

“On the phone with Madonna and Cardi. Listening to both women share their perspective on the communication going on has broadened their love for each other,” he wrote.

Cardi appeared to confirm Lee’s claim via a tweet.

UPDATED 10/23, 6:00 p.m. ET: It seems as though Cardi and Madonna have patched things up.

“I love you,” Madonna tweeted at Cardi.

    “Love you,” Cardi tweeted back.

    See original story below.

Madonna’s recent comment about paving the way for other women in music isn’t sitting right with one artist.

Cardi B took to Twitter to respond to Madonna, after the 64-year-old singer named Cardi in her Instagram Story while discussing her coffee table book, S.E.X. The once-controversial book was released 30 years ago this week.

“30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. In addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman, and Me kissing everyone. I also wrote about my sexual fantasies and shared my point of view about sexuality in an ironic way,” she wrote on Saturday.

“I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow-minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman,” she continued on IG. “I was called a whore, a witch, a heretic, and the devil.”

“Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked ass and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball,” Madonna added. “You’re welcome bitches,” she concluded, alongside a clown emoji.

That clown emoji and use of the word ‘bitch’ is what Cardi took offense to. She addressed Madonna’s comment on Twitter, writing, “I literally [paid] this woman homage so many times cause I grew up listening to her …she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth ..These icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry that’s why I keep to myself.” Cardi also posted a screenshot of her sharing just how impactful Madonna’s music was for her.

Cardi then went on a rant about Madonna’s remarks, responding to fans who both agreed with her and disagreed. “I know exactly what she said and I understand but it’s about THE TONE …Calling me bitches and putting clown emojis ? The fuck!”

  • Cardi B battles with lawyer in racy mixtape artwork case

Cardi B exits federal court as proceedings continue in a $5 million copyright infringement lawsuit against her in federal court, Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, in Santa Ana, Calif. A heated exchange between rapper Cardi B and the lawyer for a man suing her for copyright infringement got so intense Wednesday that the judge briefly stopped the trial.

The Grammy winner delivered pointed answers to several questions by attorney A. Barry Cappello, who is representing a man who claims the rapper misused his likeness on the cover of a 2016 mixtape.

The testy back-and-forth between the Cappello and the star witness prompted U.S. District Judge Cormac Carney to send jurors out of the Santa Ana, California courtroom and tell both sides he was considering a mistrial.

After a break, he called the arguing “unprofessional” and “not productive” but allowed questioning to resume – placing new restrictions for both sides.

Kevin Michael Brophy is seeking $5 million from Cardi B over the appearance of some of his distinctive back tattoos on the mixtape’s artwork, which shows a tattooed man from behind with his head between the rapper’s legs.

The rapper said she felt Brophy hadn’t suffered any consequences as a result of the artwork, yet has harassed her legally for five years. At one point she said she missed a special moment with her youngest child, who recently turned one-year-old.

“I have empathy for people,” she said. “I care about people. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I missed my child’s first step by being here.”

Brophy told jurors Tuesday that he felt “humiliated” by the racy artwork.

At one point, Cardi B pointed out that the man’s face cannot be seen in the artwork. Capello asked her to calm down, but she instead barked back at the lawyer’s contention that she knew about photo-editing software used to put Brophy’s tattoos – which have been featured in magazines – on another model’s body.

“It’s not your client’s back,” she said about the image, which features a Black model. Brophy is white. The rapper said she posted a photo of the “famous Canadian model” on her social media.

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, said an artist used only a “small portion” of the tattoos without her knowledge. She had previously said the cover art – created by Timm Gooden — was transformative fair use of Brophy’s likeness.

Cappello said Gooden was paid $50 to create a design but was then told to find another tattoo after he turned in an initial draft. He said Gooden googled “back tattoos” before he found an image and pasted it on the cover.

Cardi B’s lawyer, Peter Anderson, said Brophy and the mixtape image are unrelated, noting the model did not have neck tattoos, which Brophy does.

“It’s not him,” the rapper said. “To me, it doesn’t look like his back at all. The tattoo was modified, which is protected by the First Amendment.”

She said the image hasn’t hindered Brophy’s employment with a popular surf and skate apparel brand or his ability to travel the world for opportunities.

“He hasn’t gotten fired from his job,” said Cardi B, who implied that the mixtape was not a lucrative one for her. “He hasn’t gotten a divorce. How has he suffered? He’s still in a surf shop at his job. Please tell me how he’s suffered.”

Brophy, a self-described family man, said he sent a cease-and-desist letter to Cardi B’s representatives to remove the image, but he never received a response. The rapper said she hadn’t seen the letter.

At one point, Cardi B said she doesn’t check her mailbox because that’s for “old people” – leading some in the courtroom to chuckle.

When Cardi B left the courthouse, she was swarmed by around 30 high schoolers who were attempting to take selfies with her. As the rapper walked toward her vehicle with security, she smiled and waved before telling them she would be more responsive after the trial.

Last month, Cardi B pleaded guilty to a criminal case stemming from a pair of brawls at New York City strip clubs that required her to perform 15 days of community service.

Earlier this year, the rapper was awarded $1.25 million in a defamation lawsuit against a celebrity news blogger who posted videos falsely stating she used cocaine, had contracted herpes and engaged in prostitution.

  • I’ve made over $300,000 from shows in Ghana only – Shatta Wale

A typical Shatta Wale threw his weight about when he appeared on the show Showbiz 360 hosted by regular face Giovani Caleb.

Shatta Wale bragged that he is probably the first Ghanaian artist whose performance earnings from gigs in Ghana brought in roughly $320,000 in a row.

The Dancehall/Reggae genre specialist disclosed that he received $100,000 in performance fees from Afro Nation and the group responsible for bringing Cardi B to Ghana, respectively.

He added that the organizers of Cardi B’s event in Ghana disregarded their agreement, which is why he did not perform there.

“I am the only artist in Ghana that has been able to charge shows $100,000 three times in a row. And I won’t lie.

The first Afro Nation show that they did in Ghana, the first time, they paid me $100,000 cash. Cardi B’s show that was held in Ghana, I was paid another $100,000. I took the money and didn’t go because they violated the contract. That’s what happened because it was a nice agreement.”

Shatta Wale also revealed that he did not perform after Sadiq Abu, formerly of 3Music, paid him $120,000 because they also breached their contract.

“Sadiq’s Wildaland, I got paid $120,000. If the other artsites want to know, I want to tell them. So if I tell somebody that I’ve been able to make $300,000 from shows in Ghana, they will think I’m bragging.”

  • Tasha K Ordered to pay Cardi B $4 million or secure funding for full amount

Cardi B’s attorneys want Tasha K to pay up immediately.

According to legal documents reviewed by Billboard, a Georgia judge has ordered Tasha K—legal name Latasha Kebe—to cough up the $4 million awarded to Cardi in their highly publicized defamation case. The Bronx rapper sued the YouTuber gossip blogger in 2019, claiming Tasha K had launched a “malicious campaign” to harm her reputation. Cardi pointed to a series of videos in which the defendant made “false and defamatory” statements involving drug use, sexual acts, and STDs.

In January, a jury sided with Cardi and found Tasha K liable for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The 30-year-old rapper was ultimately awarded more than $2.5 million damages and an additional $1.3 million in legal fees. However, Tasha K is now trying to pause the judgement while she appeals the verdict. She argued that the jury trial was “very lopsided” and accused the court of withholding details from the jury.

Judge William M. Ray has since ordered Tasha K to pay Cardi the $4 million, but said he would consider a pause if she was able to a secure a “supersedeas bond” that would cover the full amount.

This type of bond, aka “defendant’s appeal bond,” is typically issued by private lenders; it allows petitioners to delay paying a full judgement during the appeal process. If Tasha K’s efforts are unsuccessful and her appeal is denied, the secured bond will be overturned to Cardi.

“This is more than a hypothetical concern in this case,” Cardi’s attorney legal team wrote Friday. “During the litigation, Kebe bragged publicly that she had taken steps to insulate herself from a judgment. And there have been recent online reports that Kebe has moved from Georgia to avoid enforcement of the judgment.”

  • Cardi B and Akbar V trade series of disses on social media

Cardi B and rapper Akbar V have started trading shots after they both shared a series of subliminal tweets.

Word started to circulate on Twitter that Cardi’s remix with GloRilla, “Tomorrow 2,” had brought in some huge numbers following its release last week, but in a recent tweet Akbar appeared to doubt the success of the track.

“If @chartdata ain’t say it we ain’t believing the CAP,” wrote Akbar V, who recently appeared on a remix of Nicki Minaj’s No. 1 track “Super Freaky Girl” alongside JT of City Girls, BIA, Katie Got Bandz, and Maliibu Miitch.

Not long after, Cardi came through with a number of tweets seemingly directed at Akbar.

“Count all the times chart data posted u,” she wrote. “I don’t really like the internet games… My dms is open and also the streets!”

Someone then seemingly provided Cardi with Akbar’s phone number, as the latter revealed on Twitter.

“Who gave this ho Cardi B my number…gotta be one of y’all weird ass hoes?”

“I don’t gotta @ I can change a bitch life just by a mention,” tweeted Cardi as it came to light that she had directly contacted Akbar. “AND YES I HIT THEM DIRECTLY, I don’t do the internet!!”

Akbar responded in disbelief—and brought Nicki Minaj into it.

“Bitch talking bout she can change my life. ho @NICKIMINAJ change my life I’m on a tape u produced and didn’t know u produced it and showed love to ur dog face ass still cause we was cordial and u ain’t take me number #1 so if u couldn’t change my life with that u can’t do it now. … @NICKIMINAJ is the #QueenOfRap and @iamcardib u are the peasant ho.”

Cardi also asked why Akbar decided to run to the internet after they spoke over text and potentially a phone call.

“Been subtweeting me for months and now you wanna make it about another woman as a shield,” Cardi wrote. “Stand on your shit!!!”

When Cardi wrote that she takes care of her kids, presumably accusing Akbar of neglecting her children, they began to reply to each other’s tweets without dancing around the subject.

“See the difference between me and u I had n***as wanting to put babies in me while I was in the jungle but I said to myself I won’t put my kids in the same hoodes I was raised in let alone ABANDONED THEM,” she wrote in response to Akbar saying Cardi was known for “selling it to any man that ran up on u” before she was famous.

Akbar accused Cardi of not writing her own music, while Cardi continued to talk about parenting skills.

“I’m about to do something you never do…pick my kid up from school,” she wrote. “You got 20 minutes to talk your shit cause after that my attention go to my kids the whole day.”

Cardi wound up sharing a clip from Akbar’s leaked sex tape, in which she said to the man she performed a sex act on, “Tell me you love me.”

The tweet was deleted, but Akbar clearly saw it first. “Now my kids got to watch this again @iamcardib u dead wrong for uploading that porn stuff about me again u scoop so low but kool,” tweeted Akbar. “U just threw me back into anxiety.”

In response, Cardi wrote, “Unmmmm wasn’t you bragging about it when the video first came out…talkin bout you got good head? Anyways imma respect your kids and take it down.”

A fan pointed out, however, that Akbar previously used a screenshot from the leaked tape as the cover art for her song “Leaked.”

“WAIT A DAMN MINUTE…she lied to me?” tweeted Cardi.

Cardi put an end to the discussion shortly after, and posted a video from her car in which she talked about the support for “Tomorrow 2.”

“Tell me you love me,” she said in the clip, referencing Akbar’s leaked tape. “Tell me you love me Bardi gang.”

Once Akbar brought Offset into things, saying he called her as well, the Migos rapper quickly got into the fray.

“Police ass hoe I ain’t called you and If Any N***a played with me get blitzed ask around!!” Offset tweeted in response.

    A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib)

Digital creator JL Bunny wrote, “My hair inspo forreal” while media personality Jerome Trammel shared, “Yassss hair! It’s giving Aaliyah signature style!”

While another user was skeptical of the onions being odorless after trying a similar hack herself. Actress and author Juju Castaneda replied, “I have to try boiling the onions .. I was juicing them and left it too long .. & for an entire year, anytime my hair was blowed out or straightened it smelled like Sofrito 🥴🤦🏾‍♀️”

Adding onion to a haircare routine may be beneficial due to “the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties” of the vegetable which can “help you grow your hair or enhance its healthy appearance,” according to Healthline.

“Onion juice has the potential to help stimulate hair follicles and thereby encourage hair growth,” Tiffany Young, a certified trichologist and the CEO of ThinHairThick, told Martha Stewart in March. “It is also a natural antiseptic. Hair loss that is caused from inflammatory disease, poor blood flow, and poor diet could see a benefit.”

Earlier this week, the Grammy-winning rapper also stripped down her glam to reveal her “mustache” and bare-faced complexion on social media.

“Forehead foreheading, mustache mustaching,” the Grammy winner captioned the Twitter photo.

In June, she also got real about her appearance on her Instagram Story. She shared that wanted to get a tummy tuck after giving birth to her son Wave last September.

At the time, the star revealed that she’s “a little heavier than usual,” adding about a section of her tummy, “I don’t like it. I want to get rid of it.”

Cardi continued in the clip, “I think Wavey did me wrong, so I cannot wait to put out this song and do more things so I can get the f— out and do my f—ing surgery. I’m over it.”

“Me and surgery goes together bad,” she joked.
