  • Sisters’ support: Tamera Mowry speaks about Tia Mowry’s heartbreaking divorce

More than just words, Tamera Mowry is supporting her sister Tia Mowry.

On October 4, Tia announced that she and her husband, Cory Hardrict, are separating after more than 14 years of marriage. The Family Reunion actress, 44, and The Chi star, 42, have two children together: 11-year-old son Cree and 4-year-old daughter Cairo.“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Tia wrote on Instagram. “These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family, and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”

Among those showing Tia support was her twin sister, Tamera. “❤️❤️❤️❤️ love you!” she commented.

Speaking with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on the Today show, Tamera elaborated on her feelings about Tia and Cory’s split.

“Your sister just announced that she’s going to be getting a divorce. Does half of your heart break for her?” Jenna said while talking about Tamera’s new memoir, You Should Sit Down For This.

“I support her,” she responded. “So whatever she wants, the Mowrys have her back. I love her dearly. She is strong but I know right now she just kind of just wants to … kind of process it all, take it all in, and be a little private about that. As a sister, I’m just going to respect that.”

Tia and Tamera’s youngest brother, Tavior Dontae Mowry, echoed similar words in the comments section. “I love you! And I support you ALWAYS,” he posted. (Tia and Tamera’s other brother, Tamera Mowry doesn’t appear to have shared his thoughts on social media.)

As Sister, Sister fans may know, Tia and Cory first met on the set of the independent horror movie Hollywood Horror in 1999. After being friends for a year, the two started dating in 2000. Their engagement followed on Christmas Day 2006 before they tied the knot in the spring of 2008.

  • I hope Will Smith and Chris Rock will talk things out – Jada Pinkett

Jada Pinkett Smith briefly addressed the Oscars slap incident on Wednesday’s episode of “Red Table Talk.”

Pinkett Smith’s husband, Will Smith, took to the stage at the Academy Awards in March and slapped presenter Chris Rock after he made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s close-cropped haircut.

The actress suffers from alopecia, which causes hair loss.

On Her Facebook Watch show, Pinkett Smith had as a guest the mother of 12-year-old Rio Allred, who died by suicide after being bullied for having alopecia.

“This is a really important ‘Red Table Talk’ on alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories,” Pinkett Smith said during the show.

“I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is.”

She then addressed the incident between her husband and Rock.

“Now, about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. The state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever,” she said.

“Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that keeps figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

It was Pinkett Smith’s first public remark about what happened at the Oscars. In April, a title card at the beginning of her show read, “Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing. Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls.

Until then the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring, and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.”

Her husband publicly apologized to Rock and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in a statement after the incident.

The Academy banned Smith from attending the Oscars for a decade as punishment.

  • I didn’t divorce my pastor husband, he left me – Agnes Opoku Agyemang

It is most surprising to see marriages of gospel musicians to Pastors hit the rocks, especially, since they are perceived to have a deeper understanding of the Bible which speaks against divorce.

Just like all persons, who are bound to have shortfalls in their relationships and marriages, Ghanaians gospel musicians who are married to pastors are not any different.

In March 2020, there were reports that Agnes Opoku Agyemang, had stated her regrets of marrying Pastor Cudjoe, her ex-husband, explaining that she was not lucky marrying a man of God as she wept and was very unhappy throughout the marriage.

Speaking for the first time about the reports in an interview with Kofi TV, monitored by GhanaWeb, she revealed that it was Pastor Cudjoe of Fire chapel in Kumasi, who opted out of their union but not her.

She reiterated that although she was not going to give much details about her past marriage, she added that being a Pastor’s wife is a calling from God.

“Sometimes being a Pastor’s wife is a calling as well as being a Pastor. The person might think it fetches lots of money. Also, you might return if God doesn’t call you as a Pastor’s wife.

“I didn’t divorce my husband, he left me. God says, he has called many but he will select a few,” she said in the Twi dialect.

The ‘Menpese Mesan M’akyi’ hitmaker advised that one should not be too quick to judge people for their actions and decisions since it is only God who is the best position to do that.

Aside Empress Gifty, Obaapa Christy, Esther Smith, Diana Hopeson, the latest to have her marriage collapse as a gospel musician is Joyce Blessing, though she was not married to a pastor.
