  • Mahama’s presidential prophesy was spiritually hijacked – Nigel Gaisie

Mahama’s presidential prophesy was spiritually hijacked – Nigel Gaisie

Founder and Leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has stated that his prophecy about John Dramani Mahama’s re-election was spiritually tampered.

Nigel Gaisie claims that it is not uncommon for evil spirits to hijack prophecies in the spiritual realm but his prophecy was instructed by God so it shall come to pass.

“Prophecies can be hijacked. We can prophesy and it can be hijacked by spiritual powers or evil men, but that does not mean that the prophecy won’t come to pass. With time it will surely come to pass. So, as we’re living let’s pray for life all the prophecies will come to pass. The last election it was clear, where I am sitting as a prophet of God it went well for the NDC members. Anybody who doesn’t wants to be biased will tell you the truth. Even the NPP members know that I’m a prophet and what I said came to pass.

“So, the prophecy was hijacked. And it is still in the womb of time waiting to manifest and if God permits 2024 it will manifest.
“I have a mandate from God to make sure that the prophecy comes to pass.
“I was in Israel praying and God said I should come and tell Ghanaians this, it will amaze you that the former president I don’t even call him, and we don’t talk,” he said in an interview with Onua TV.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie during the 31-night watch service released a number of prophecies that he claims are bound to happen in 2023.

Gaisie outlined prophecies that relate to a nation he claimed was called ‘The Republic of Yempɛ Nokware’ – a nation that bears similarities with Ghana.

He issued a disclaimer at the beginning of his prophecy session that his words were of the spiritual and not the physical world.

“I want to say this is a disclaimer, I am in the spirit and I am in the church behind the pulpit. I am not talking in my human sense; I am talking as a spiritual person.

“The intention is not to cause fear and panic, prophecies are utterances led by the spirit of God through vision, trans and dreams and our five senses,” he added.

He mentioned three scriptures that backed his position on prophecies being divine and continued: “On the strength of these scriptures, I repeat again, I am not prophesying to the nation and people of Ghana.

“If you are in Ghana, you can respectfully log off or switch off your TV, I am prophesying to the Republic of Yempɛ Nokware.”

  • I will run a clean campaign for NPP flagbearership – Joe Ghartey assures Kufuor

I will run a clean campaign for NPP flagbearership – Joe Ghartey assures Kufuor

A former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Joe Ghartey, has assured ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor, and by extension, the entire ‘elephant family’, that he will not work to divide the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) during his campaign for the party’s flagbearer job.

He gave the assurance when he visited the former president at his Aburi residence in the Eastern Region on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Announcing to Mr. Kufuor his intention to contest the upcoming presidential primaries of the NPP, Joe Ghartey said he will not disparage any of the other candidates for the race.

Ghartey pledged to promote unity in the NPP before, during, and after the presidential primaries.

President John Agyekum Kufuor was visibly delighted that Joe Ghartey had come to inform him about his presidential ambition.

Ghartey served as Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice and subsequently substantive Minister of Justice under former President Kufour.

Mr. Kufuor, who ruled Ghana from 2001 to 2009, seized the opportunity during the visit to express how happy he was with the performance and professionalism of Joe Ghartey as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

He recounted how, before becoming Attorney-General in 2006, Ghartey was lawyer to his mother, Obapanyin Ama Dapaah, and subsequently lawyer for his elder sister, Nana Druwaa.

Commenting on the conduct of the upcoming primaries, Mr. Kufuor cautioned that all the candidates should show sportsmanship, and that at the end of the race, whoever wins should be supported by all.

He reminded Joe Ghartey that the NPP as a party did not belong to any single individual and that no one is bigger than the party. He also urged that it was important at all times to protect the integrity of the party.

According to John Agyekum Kufuor, he was still confident that the NPP was a better option when it came to the governance of Ghana.

He expressed the hope that the party will work hard and win the 2024 general elections.

  • ‘Volta Region is where saviours of the nation come from’ – Fifi Kwetey declares

‘Volta Region is where saviours of the nation come from’ – Fifi Kwetey declares

Fifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the Volta Region as the part of Ghana where saviours of the nation come from.

“Volta is the region, where saviours of the nation come from as far as this country is concerned but we need to know who we are, and somehow, we know, who we are, and we need to start appreciating who we are.

“Volta must appreciate NDC and back it no matter what. It should become like a religion. We need to let our people appreciate that this is what we are.

“And I believe if we knew who we were, the situation where the love for this party would start dwindling in this Region should not happen,” he said during a retreat for regional executives at Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality.

He is concerned that unlike the Ashanti and Eastern regions which are strongholds of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), the NDC’s fortunes in the Volta Region are dwindling.

“Because somehow, they (Ashanti and Eastern) appreciate it, and believe in their party as a religion. Your Religion may not be the best religion, yet that is your religion. It is your responsibility to make sure you fix it, and you change it.”

Kwetey also tasked the rank and file to rededicate themselves to supporting the party and do all it takes to ensure that they sell the NDC gospel as the party gears up to wrestle power after the 2024 elections.

At the opening of the four-day event which was on the theme “Empowering Our Base for Victory in 2024,” Dan Abodakpi, Chairman of the National Council of Elders tasked party executives to unite with MPs and other stakeholders particularly the grassroots to be able to remain formidable.

  • Some MDAs will be consolidated under my presidency – Alan Kyerematen

Some MDAs will be consolidated under my presidency – Alan Kyerematen

Former Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Alan Kyerematen says he will run a lean government should he be elected to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and eventually become the President of Ghana.

He said he will ensure that some Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) are consolidated.

According to him, the current architecture of government will be overhauled during his presidency.

Speaking in an address to the nation on Tuesday, January 10, he said he will bring comfort to Ghanaians.

“The architecture of government to be overhauled by consolidating some existing Ministries and Departments and Agency (MDA), this will mean running a lean government structure that will ensure operational efficiency in the delivery of the government services,” he said.

This is amongst some 10 strategies he intends to implement dubbed “Great Transformational Plan.”

According to him, the successful implementation of this plan will help strengthen the macroeconomic fundamentals of the Ghanaian economy.

“The success of the GTP will depend primarily on strong macroeconomic fundamentals, which will include among other things, a stable currency, low inflation, sustainable debt levels, revenue optimization and tight expenditure control to guarantee fiscal balance, low competitive interest rates, strong external reserves backed by high levels of liquidity to support the financial sector.

“To a large extent, the IMF support programme when fully executed, will create the appropriate conditions that will underpin the Great Transformational Plan,” he said.

  • Nothing will stand in the way of NDC’s victory in 2024 – Inusah Fuseini

Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, is optimistic of the NDC‘s win in the upcoming 2024 elections.

He says nothing will stand in the way of the National Democratic Congress winning election 2024.

According to him, concerns about utterances made by the General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, having the potential to derail the ‘winning’ tangent of the party are unfounded.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who is contesting against the incumbent NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, in a leaked audio tape, accused the Chairman of failing to supply the NDC’s legal team in the 2020 election petition relevant data to challenge the outcome of the elections.

He said this was why the NDC could not sufficiently support their claims during the trial.

Reacting to the leaked audio, Inusah Fuseini stated that the General Secretary’s communication was not intended for general consumption, and that he was only giving an explanation of what had happened.

He noted that while the revelation may have ruffled some feathers within the party, it is not enough to derail the party’s progress.

“What he was seeking to do was probably explain to the party delegates why we are where we are; why we could not win the elections; why our case was not made up very well in court. And so the fact that it leaked is very very unfortunate.

“But Asiedu Nketia ought to have known that it will leak because in campaigning for a position in the party or government or to lead the country, people deliberately, intentionally plant others to be able to see what their opponent is doing, so he ought or our leaders ought to be circumspect,” he said.

Inusah Fusieni added that “as a party we had always known that these two giants if they contest each other we’ll definitely have fallouts, and so that is why there was an initial attempt to try and see whether they would be reconciled.

“Chairman Ampofo spoke about what the team achieved during their term in office, that team included the General Secretary of the party who is now contesting him for the chairmanship. So there’s no doubt that that team also has some few weaknesses.”

He said with the two giants going against each other, party delegates will be forced to critically anlayse the strengths and weaknesses of both parties in order to make a decision.

“Aisha, you should be reminded that four people are contesting for the chairmanship position. But why are we narrowing it down to two? Because, one, those two persons are giants in the party and they all have something to contribute towards the success of the party, and nobody wants to lose either of them.

“But only one person can become chairman, so as a delegate you have to look at them individually, look at their strengths and weaknesses and see whether in the present state of the party who will be better positioned to lead us to the Promised Land,” he said.

  • Ghana Card for Voter Registration: Speaker has not summoned us to brief him on new CI – EC

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has said that it has no knowledge of a directive from the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, asking the Commission and officials of the National Identification Authority (NIA) to appear before him with a briefing over the new Constitutional Instrument seeking to make the Ghana Card the sole document for the registration of voters ID.

According to the Director of Electoral Services at the EC, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, the commission does not operate with hearsay.

He added that if indeed the Speaker has issues with the process, he must officially write to the Commission.

Dr. Serebour’s comment comes on the back of a warning from the Alban Bagbin, asking the EC to forget laying the new C.I in parliament if they fail to meet the leadership of the House.

But in the view of the EC, they cannot honour the Speaker’s request when they haven’t been officially invited.

“We’ve not heard anything from the speaker. Officially they have to write to us if they have issues with our C.I. We have no letter from parliament and we don’t work with hearsay. We’ve already met the subsidiary committee and the budget committee but nobody has invited us to come because we can only go to parliament when we have been invited. It’s like going to somebody’s house without invitation,” Dr. Serebuor said in an interview with the host of Kumasi-based Oyerepa TV’s morning show, Kwesi Parker-Wilson.

Dr. Serebour further explained that the move by the EC to make the Ghana Card the sole document for the registration of voters ID remains unchanged.

He added that NIA officials have so far captured about 17 million Ghanaians into its system.

“We met the NIA officials about 2 weeks ago and per the statistics, they have covered more than 17 million Ghanaians. The backlog now is about 400,000 that is persons who are yet to receive their cards after being registered. I can tell you that some of the district officers are empty now because the NIA officials have registered everyone in the district.”

“People are no more complaining about the issuance of the card and we have two more years to go so we are still standing by our earlier position,” he added.

  • Threats to vote against NPP in 2024 don’t frighten me – Akufo-Addo declares

President Akufo-Addo has proclaimed that he is unperturbed by threats of electoral consequences by some supporters of the New Patriotic Party, NPP.

He is of the view that not everyone will vote for a particular candidate in an election and that voters can also not be forced to make choices in a democratic dispensation hence there was no need to threaten a government with votes.

Akufo-Addo was responding to concerns raised by people in Manso and Kwabre, who according to an OTEC FM journalist had threatened to vote out the NPP in 2024 if their roads are not fixed.

The journalist was hosting the President in an exclusive interview as part of his official visit to the Ashanti Region where he inspected and launched a number of projects.

“The people of Kwabre and Manso, we know they voted massively for Nana, they have asked me to inform the president that if their roads are not fixed, they will be pained and in 2024, they will vote against the NPP,” the journalist said after the Roads Minister Kwasi Amoako-Attah had responded to a question.

The president quickly weighed in with a response: “No problem, no problem.” He continued: “I am saying people make those kinds of threats, me, they don’t frighten me. Somebody votes for you, somebody supports you, it is because they want you to do things for them, so I understand that.

“There is no need for people to say if I do not do it, this or that. That is your own problem. Of course, I will fulfil my promises.

“But if it so happens that you decide to vote for the NDC, that is your problem, that is not mine. Nobody will hold your hand to thumbprint for any candidate, the most important thing is that I understand the responsibility and we will deal with it,” he stressed.

  • Former Hohoe NDC Vice Chair to contest Guan Chairmanship race

A former Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Hohoe Constituency, Mr Godfried Kofie, says he will contest the Chairmanship race in the Guan enclave.

Following the creation of the Guan District barely a year ago, the two major political parties are preparing for the next general elections by putting in place interim party officers, awaiting the creation of a constituency by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Voters in the district were not allowed to vote for a parliamentary candidate in the 2020 general elections and still does not have a representation in the legislative arm of government.

Mr Kofie, in an interaction with the media, said he had decided to contest the slot in the Guan area for the NDC to win the parliamentary and presidential race.

He said the lack of a parliamentary representation had been a punishment from the government since there were no developments from an MP hence the urgent need for the creation of a constituency.

Mr Kofie said although there was a district, the existence of a constituency would increase the number of development projects.

In a separate development, a former Hohoe MCE, Mr Peter Worlanyo Abomah, called on government and the EC, to as a matter of urgency, begin processes to create a constituency for the people of the area before the next elections.

  • Property rates target not adequate Prof. Quartey

Director of the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Prof. Peter Quartey, has stated that the targeted GH¢468 million for property rate in the 2022 fiscal year is not enough.

According to him, government must hasten its plans to develop a common platform for the collection of property rates.

In its review of the 2022 Mid-Year Budget and Economic Policy, Prof. Quartey reiterated calls for the government to embark on aggressive domestic revenue mobilization through efficient tax and non-tax revenue-generating measures.

“There is the need to modify structures as a means towards adapting to the increasingly volatile world economy. I think the amount earmarked for the property tax is inadequate but we have to adopt ways to mobilize more domestic revenue.”

The Director also proposed that domestic policies should be intensified in order to block revenue loopholes and ensure that revenue targets are met.

“Ghana needs a national policy to withstand external shocks from other parts of the world. Re-introduce Tolls using the E-Pass System: outright removal of road tolls is not in the interest of the government, especially in PPP arrangements. To address the usual congestion at Toll Gates use E-Pass”, he lamented.
