  • Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade opens up about ‘surreal’ childhood growing up with rapper

Hailie Jade Mathers is opening up about what it’s like to be Eminem’s daughter.

In the first episode of her new podcast Just a Little Shady, the 26-year-old child of the rap legend kicked things off by addressing the elephant in the room and spoke about the “surreal” experience of living life as Slim Shady’s spawn.

“I remember going on [Eminem’s tour bus] and all our memories of being young were so cool and unique to look back at now,” Hailie’s co-host and childhood best friend Brittany Ednie said during a conversation beginning around the 3:00 mark. “But at the time, it felt so normal and not anything strange or different. I mean, ’cause we didn’t know any better.”

“Obviously we were in a normal public school, we never thought anything was different,” Hailie interjected. “I don’t know, we had so many normal experiences that when something like that happened, I thought like, ‘Oh, everybody else does this too.’ Not realizing that like, no, that’s freaking weird. It’s so fun to look back, when we have these conversations here, wherever, like thinking back as an adult, like, ‘Wow, that’s actually so surreal.’ Those memories of me thinking those were normal things, now I look back and I’m like, ‘Holy crap, that was cool.’”

Elsewhere, Hailie spoke about a trip she and Ednie took to Florida with Em, and recalled her dad sending them off to Disney World so he could record in peace.

“I always think about that time,” Hailie said. “We went to Florida, my dad was working on something, and he was working the whole time. But he set up for us to do the limo and take it to Disney and we did the princess tea party, and he had the dresses waiting for us.”

She continued, “And even then, like at the time, we were so happy and so excited, but we didn’t like get to appreciate that moment as much as now, when we talk about it and think back on it. We’re like, ‘Oh my god, that was just awesome.’”

Eminem has often been very vocal about his love for his daughters, recently going to bat for Hailie against Machine Gun Kelly after the latter tweeted out that she looked “hot as fuck” in 2012. Em responded to the disrespect on his 2018 Kamikaze track “Not Alike.”

“If you wanna come at me with a sub, Machine Gun/And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly/I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss/But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie,” Marshall rapped.

The insult kickstarted a brief feud between the two rappers, with MGK returning shots on “Rap Devil.”

  • Eminem and Snoop Dogg Set to Launch Out of This World Performance at 2022 MTV VMAs

Eminem and Snoop Dogg will rock the stage together for an unforgettable performance at the 2022 MTV VMAs on Aug. 28. Find out more details about the duet’s rare appearance for their latest single.

During the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28, Eminem and Snoop Dogg will hit the stage for a one-of-kind performance of their latest single, “From the D 2 The LBC.” The rap duo’s summer single—which is also up for an award in the Best Hip Hop category—marks their first collaboration in over 20 years, so it’s safe to say that viewers are beyond excited to see this pair team up again.

Although fans saw Snoop and Eminem hit the stage together earlier this year as part of a star-studded lineup for the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show in February, their VMA performance will be historic for more reasons than one.

This upcoming performance will be Eminem‘s first time hitting the awards show stage in 12 years, with the 60-time nominee last performing his hits, “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” in 2010.

It’s also worth noting that out of Eminem’s impressive number of nominations (his 60 nods make him the second most nominated artist behind Madonna, who holds a record of 69), he’s won 13 times—making him one of the top five artists with the most wins in the show’s history.

But Eminem isn’t the only one familiar with the number 13 since Snoop has also racked up that exact number of nominations over the years. As far as Snoop’s last VMA performance goes, the “Beautiful” rapper—who has snagged himself three Moon Persons thus far—performed alongside daddy to honor the late Notorious B.I.G. in 2005.

  • Eminem ‘detained an intruder’ in his living room

Eminem detained an intruder in his home last month, his representative has confirmed to the BBC.

The star was awoken by a security alarm in the early hours of the morning, after someone broke into his gated Detroit-area home.

The 47-year-old found the intruder in his living room. His security guard arrived shortly afterwards, followed by the police.

The suspect was later arrested and remains in custody.

It is understood the intruder entered via the rear of the house, while the rapper’s security guard was at the front of the property.

The star, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, was awoken by a security alarm, and found the suspect in his living room.

According to a source who spoke to ET Online, Eminem’s guard came to his aid shortly after he detained the intruder.

Eminem is one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world, and reached number one in the UK chart earlier this year with his latest album Music To Be Murdered By.

Shortly after its release, Eminem responded to criticism of his latest lyrics, saying the album was “not made for the squeamish”.

Last month, Eminem shared a post on social media celebrating the fact he was 12 years sober.
