  • Nia Long and Ime Udoka end 13-year relationship following coach’s alleged affair with coworker

Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka and actress Nia Long are going their separate ways following the former’s alleged affair with a coworker.

People reports Long and Udoka have decided to end their 13-year relationship, with a source confirming that the couple is “no longer together but remain fully committed to co-parenting their son.”

“The situation is unfortunate and painful, but Nia is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life,” the insider added.

Back in September, the Celtics suspended Udoka for the entire 2022-23 NBA season after it was discovered that he had a consensual, improper relationship with a team staffer.

“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,” Udoka said in a statement at the time. “I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”

The breakup news comes days after Long discussed Udoka’s scandal in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. Though she did not reveal her relationship status, Long blamed the Celtics organization for how it handled the controversy.

“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” Long said. “It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women—I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”

Long and Udoka began dating in 2010, before welcoming their first and only child together in 2011. The couple got engaged in June 2015, though they never got around to tying the knot.

  • Jalen Rose apologizes for comments on Ime Udoka’s alleged affair

ESPN analyst Jalen Rose raised eyebrows Friday night when he addressed Ime Udoka’s cheating scandal and his rumored move to the Brooklyn Nets.

Rose reiterated his support for Udoka and questioned why the Celtics staffer who was allegedly involved with Udoka had not been publicly identified.

“We know his name, maybe I’m missing something as it relates to the law, but why we don’t know her name,” he reportedly said during NBA Countdown. “It’s not like she’s a minor. I think we should know her name publicly, as well.”

The former NBA player apologized for the comments during halftime of the Boston Celtics-Chicago Bulls game.

“I would like to apologize for a comment I made earlier on NBA Countdown,” he said. “I questioned why a woman’s name who had an alleged affair with Celtics head coach Ime udoka was not made public. After an internal investigation, and it was discovered that she was a subordinate to the head coach, I now understand fully why her name should not be released to the public.”’

More than a year after Udoka was hired as the Celtics head coach, an independent law firm determined he had an improper intimate relationship with a female Celtics staffer who was also married. Shortly after, the team announced Udoka had been suspended for the entirety of the 2022-23 season because he had violated multiple team policies.

Udoka addressed the decision in a statement to ESPN in September.

“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,” he said.

“I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”

  • Cam’ron shares DM he sent Nia Long shooting his shot with actress

Cam’ron tried to shoot his shot with Nia Long by sliding into her DMs, and shared his message to her on Instagram.

“Hey stink. I was giving you some time to yourself till I reached out,” Killa Cam wrote. “Your perseverance as a strong black woman through this turbulent time has been something to behold.”

The post comes weeks after the Boston Celtics suspended head coach Ime Udoka for the entire 2022-23 season for “violations of team policies.” Both ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported Udoka had a consensual relationship with a female staff member.

Long and Udoka have been together since 2010, and the two welcomed a child the following year. They got engaged in June 2015, but never tied the knot. “The outpouring love and support from family, friends and the community during this difficult time means so much to me,” Long said in a statement to The Boston Globe after the Udoka story broke. “I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children,” she added.

“You shouldn’t be taken advantage of and exploited as you did nothing to deserve this,” Cam’ron added in his messages. “Especially all over these sports networks. You’re bigger and better then [sic] that.”

Sources told TMZ that Udoka was allegedly unfaithful with a staff member who was responsible for organizing Long’s travel for away games, as well as helping assist with her permanent move to Boston.

“You’re a queen, and by the way I’m a king. Together we can achieve the greatness we were both destine for as a couple,” the rapper continued.

“As I sit here sipping gazpacho and watching ‘the best man’ I was inspired to reach out, because that’s what I am the best man for you!! Hope to hear from you soon my Mi- amor or should I say ‘Ni-amour.”

Cam’ron revealed she has yet to respond.

  • Shaq says he’ll avoid commenting on Ime Udoka or Adam Levine scandals because he was a ‘serial cheater’

On a recent episode of his podcast, Shaquille O’Neal said that he’s not interested in commenting on the Ime Udoka or Adam Levine scandals because he was a “serial cheater” himself.

The topic of Udoka and Levine’s alleged infidelity was brought up by Shaq’s co-host Nischelle Turner on The Big Podcast with Shaq, but the NBA legend clearly wasn’t interested in providing commentary on the situations.

“I’m going to step down from this conversation,” he says in the clip below. “I was a serial cheater. It would be crazy and blasphemous for me to get up here and say, ‘Boom, boom, bam.’ I can’t do that. I know these guys personally. I know they’re going through a lot because I went through a lot.”

Shaq also said that he didn’t want to say anything because he’s good friends with Nia Long, who has been in a relationship with Udoka since 2010. “I just wish that certain parties weren’t involved,” he added. “I’ve known Nia Long for a long time and I like her. … They’re going through a lot of family stuff. I’m never the guy that’s gonna get up here because of my platform and fake it.”

Earlier this month, both Levine and Udoka were facing allegations that they had engaged in affairs. Levine, who has been married to Behati Prinsloo since 2014, admitted that he “crossed the line” during a “regrettable period” in his life. As Sumner Stroh revealed in a TikTok, which included alleged screenshots of DMs between her and Levine, she decided to come forward about the affair after he asked her if he could name his new baby Sumner.

Udoka, meanwhile, has been suspended as the Boston Celtics coach after it was reported he engaged in an “intimate” and “consensual” relationship with a staffer. Long has since shared a message thanking fans for the showing of love and support amid the reports.

Udoka, who led the Celtics to the NBA Finals earlier this year in his first season as a head coach, was suspended for “violations of team policies”.

Udoka has been in a long-time relationship with well-known American actress Nia Long, with whom he has a child.

The team added that a decision about the 45-year-old’s future beyond 2022-23 “will be made at a later date”.

Assistant coach Joe Mazzulla will be promoted to interim head coach.
