“If I catch anyone giving fake election prophecies again, I disgrace you ” – Daniel Obinim warns religious leaders

Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has warned pastors in Ghana to stop making prophecies following the 2024 elections.

In a video posted on X on December 11, 2024, Obinim expressed his frustration with some pastors who falsely predicted a victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the election.

He made it clear that he no longer wants to hear any more false prophecies after the elections.

“All those prophets who prophesied that the NPP would win and the NDC would lose in this election, I don’t want to hear any of you on TV or social media declaring any fake prophecies, claiming that the NPP lost because they didn’t do their prophecies properly,” Obinim said.

The controversial pastor warned that he would not hesitate to publicly attack any pastor who tries to give such prophecies post-election.

“This is Angel Obinim speaking: If I see anyone on social media or TV giving prophecies after the elections, saying any political party didn’t fulfill their prophecies well, I will mention your name and fire you on social media. You people are a disgrace,” he added.

    Background

Ahead of the 2024 general elections, many pastors publicly predicted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, would win.

Notable figures like Nana Agradaa, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, and Prophet Azuka were among those who made these predictions, all forecasting a victory for Dr. Bawumia.

Video: Too many prophecies from “problematic prophets” ; I won’t even vote

Founder of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, popularly known as Angel Obinim, has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming December 7 elections.

During one of his sermons, Obinim expressed his concerns regarding prophecies made by some renowned pastors in the country, who have declared the victory of both presidential candidates from the two major political parties.

He believes these pastors should allow Ghanaians to choose their own leader.

“Both political parties have been in power for 16 years. I think it would be prudent for us to assess which party has performed better and vote accordingly,” he stated.

Obinim criticised the pastors who prophesy the victory of these political parties, claiming that if God truly appoints an individual, there would be no reason to vote in elections. “Because of these prophecies, I will not vote,” he added.

He further described pastors offering conflicting prophecies about the upcoming elections as “confused.”

“Some of these pastors have problems. Once they declare the victory of these political parties, they should also tell us not to vote. They are confused, and I must say it,” he asserted.

Recently, some prophets, including Rev. Owusu-Bempah, have projected that Mr. John Mahama is the one God has appointed to lead the country.

I could have beaten Kennedy in the spiritual realm if I wanted to – Obinim on feud with MP

Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has revealed that his feud with Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has resulted in the near collapse of his church.

According to him, when attacks from Ken started, he thought he could stand up to him, as he had the strength.

Little did he know that his perceived strength was a spiritual one, as against Ken, who was waging a physical war (legal) against him and his ministry.

While addressing the challenges he’s currently facing in running his church in a TikTok live on January 11, 2024, he mentioned, “My brother Kennedy Agyapong orchestrated a fight with me, and that was how the story started. When I assessed my strength, I could have beaten Kennedy Agyapong and still have more energy in me, but not knowing my strength had to do with spiritual strength, he was fighting me in the physical realm where he was more fit than me,” Bishop Obinim said.

It all started when Obinim was reported to have announced having a cure for COVID-19, a claim that he denied. However, Kennedy Agyapong, who is known for his criticism of some pastors, vowed to expose the ills in Obinim’s ministry.

Obinim, in response, challenged the MP to go ahead with his expose, a challenge that he seems to have regretted now.

The religious leader stated that he dismissed divine warnings against the confrontation, perceiving it only as a spiritual battle.

“I was challenging him, even though God was speaking to me to stop what I was doing. I thought I could have won, so I persisted in fighting him.

“While I focused on the spiritual, he focused on the physical. It was only later that I realised I was in the hands of National Security, EOCO, BNI, Police CID, and SIU.

He then went on to warn netizens against waging war against powerful individuals if they lack the means to do so.

I have lost almost everything – Obinim cries foul over beef with Kennedy Agyapong

Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has revealed that his ongoing conflict with Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has resulted in the decline of his church.

Bishop Obinim disclosed the intricacies of his church’s decline during a TikTok live session, underscoring the repercussions of getting involved in a verbal dispute with the outspoken politician.

“My brother Kennedy Agyapong orchestrated a fight with me, and that was how the story started. When I assessed my strength, I could have beaten Kennedy Agyapong and still have more energy in me, but not knowing my strength had to do with spiritual strength, he was fighting me in the physical realm where he was more fit than me,” Bishop Obinim said.

The religious leader stated that he dismissed divine warnings against the confrontation, perceiving it only as a spiritual battle.

Nevertheless, he later realised that the conflict extended beyond the spiritual realm and had adverse effects on his physical and legal standing.

“I had been invited and accused of money laundering and taking someone’s gold, which I had no idea about. By the time I realised it, it was already too late,” he added.

He continued: “I used to have more than 1000 congregants, but when I met in church, I didn’t even get 200 members. I wondered why I fought with him at all. That’s why I am advising you all: if someone wants to fight you, assess your strength and that of the person and never try to fight.

“I am not even done with the story of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and my fight with him. The day I was taken to court, I took seven lawyers, and they told me to bring 2 billion old cedis before they went to face Kennedy Agyapong because he had money. The kind of things I went through, I realised I was down.”

Kennedy Agyapong launched a campaign against certain pastors in the nation, labelling them as fraudulent and manipulating others in the name of God.

He verbally sparred with several of them, including Bishop Obinim, making various accusations against the religious leader.

The MP’s allegations encompass claims of the religious figure being a fraud and engaging in extramarital affairs, as well as participating in money laundering and promoting false doctrines.
