  • Lizzo seemingly addresses Kanye West remarks at Toronto Show: ‘Can I stay here?’

Lizzo appears to have responded, albeit without naming names, to recent comments made about her by the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

At a recent show in Toronto, as spotted by TMZ and others over the weekend, Lizzo asked the crowd for help securing her dual citizenship while noting that “everybody in America” has her name in their mouth.

“I feel like everybody in America got my motherfuckin’ name in they motherfuckin’ mouth for no motherfuckin’ reason,” Lizzo told fans at the show. “I’m minding my fat, Black, beautiful business. Can I stay here? Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”

As previously reported, Ye—during a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, a Fox News talking head who’s been roundly criticized as a nationalist—mentioned Lizzo.

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots—that’s a term for people, like, it’s like telemarketer callers on Instagram—they attack her for losing weight,” Ye said. “Because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy. … It’s actually clinically unhealthy and for people to promote that, it’s demonic.”

On Monday, Ye—who last week featured a “white lives matter” design in the YZY SZN 9 presentation and made public comments criticized as antisemitic—released a 30-minute short to YouTube titled Last Week.

In it, Ye previews what sounds like a new track, as well as excerpts some seemingly still-in-progress (and previously released as Stem Player exclusives) Donda 2 songs. In the previously unheard track, which is previewed starting around the 3:33 mark in the video above, Ye mentions a number of fellow artists including Drake, Lil Baby, Future, and more:

    “You a fake bitch
    You don’t really love Ye
    Go listen to Drake, bitch
You don’t have no idea what it take, bitch
    Go listen to Lil Baby
    Go listen to Future, bitch
Too past you don’t think about your future, bitch”

Viewers are also given a look at a fabrics-focused meeting about a potential hoodies material being made in Los Angeles, which then spurs a discussion on elastics. Later, Ye is seen listening to a presentation about Alegría food systems.

A certain-to-receive-attention moment from the mini-doc revolves around what appears to be a meeting between Ye and Adidas execs. A rep is heard speaking on Ye’s behalf, arguing that his issues with the company are equitable with the “children of his mind” being kidnapped and utilized for “Yeezy-inspired derivatives.” During the meeting, Ye is seen playing a clip from a porn video and seemingly remarking how one exec’s voice sounds like an actor featured in the adult film production.

Deeper into the video, Ye is heard telling an undisclosed party “it’s time for me to shut the fuck up” while reflecting on possible strategy.

“I know this might sound like the wildest thing to you but I’m literally in a place where I believe that my product and relevancy and all these things can work without me having to be the center of the news,” Ye said at one point in the short.

Last Week was shared to Ye’s YouTube late Monday into early Sunday and opens with a previously reported Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga visual inspired by Yakuza and Grand Theft Auto. See the full video, which also includes an appearance by Kim Kardashian, below.

In recent days, both Instagram and Twitter took action in response to content Ye shared that was called out as antisemitic. While Instagram moved to restrict Ye’s account, Twitter removed a tweet for violating its site rules.

As for the inclusion of Adidas-related footage in the new short, it wasn’t immediately clear whether said footage was captured before or after word that the company was placing its Yeezy partnership under review.

  • Yassin Bey dons ‘white lies matter’ shirt amid Kanye backlash

Yasiin Bey has entered the chat.

The Brooklyn-born artist, formerly known as Mos Def, has issued an apparent response to Kanye West’s “white lives matter” tee, which he unveiled in Paris earlier this week. Bey shared a series of Instagram photos in which he donned a shirt that featured the controversial slogan; however, in his design, the “v” in “lives” was blacked out, turning the phrase into “white lies matter.”

Kanye’s original tee featured the “wlm” slogan on the back, and the face of Pope John Paul II on the front. Bey’s design bore the image of German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, who is widely criticized for his views on race and Eurocentric account of history.

Bey’s post credited Anuar Khalifi, a Spanish-Moroccan artist who owns The Third Line Art Gallery in Dubai. You can check out the Bey and Khalifi tee in the Instagram carousel above.

Kanye has faced mounting backlash over his use of “white lives matter,” a phrase that many consider dismissive of the Black Lives Matter movement. Music figures and fashion insiders, like Diddy, Gigi Hadid, Tremaine Emory, and Meek Mill have publicly criticized Kanye for the T-shirt and his subsequent defense of the design. Ye addressed the controversy during a Thursday appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

“I do certain things from a feeling, I just channel the energy. It just feels right. It’s using a gut instinct, a connection with God, and just brilliance,” West said about his creative choices. “… People say, ‘Well, as an artist you don’t have to give an explanation,’ but as a leader, you do.’ So the answer to why I wrote White Lives Matter on a shirt is because they do. It’s the obvious thing.”

  • Kanye West shares texts with Tremaine Emory about his relationship with Virgil Abloh

Kanye West and Tremaine Emory are still at odds over the former’s recent comments about the late Virgil Abloh.

Earlier this week, Ye accused Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, of killing Virgil, who died in November 2021 after a battle with cancer. Shortly after posting the rant on social media, Emory, Supreme’s creative director, urged the rapper to not use the Virgil’s name as part of his “victim campaign” and alleged that Ye “rode on [Abloh] in group chats” and elsewhere.

“Ye tell the ppl why you didn’t get invited to Virgil’s actual funeral the one before the public one at the museum,” Emory said. “You knew Virgil had terminal cancer and you rode on him in group chats, at yeezy, interviews…YOU ARE SO BROKEN. KEEP VIRGIL NAME OUT YOUR MOUTH.”

On Friday, Kanye took to Instagram to share texts between him and Emory, as the pair discussed his relationship with Virgil.

Once again, Emory accused Kanye of riding Virgil, in addition to failing to mention why he wasn’t invited to Abloh’s funeral.

“You still ain’t tell the people why you weren’t invited at Virgil’s private funeral,” he wrote. “Why you rode on him when you knew he was sick. That’s the ether. That’s the shit you can’t address. The shit you can’t live with. All the hate you spewed on your brother.”

Kanye responded by alleging he wasn’t aware Virgil had cancer, writing, “Virgil never said anything to me himself.”

From there, he admitted being jealous of Virgil, claiming that he was hurt about Abloh’s relationship with Drake.

“I’ve made mistakes,” Ye wrote. “I was jealous of Virgil. I felt betrayed by and lied to by Virgil. I felt he gave Drake the green diamond watch just to fuck with me. But I love Virgil too and I miss him.”

  • Justin Bieber reportedly to distance himself from Kanye West after attacking wife Hailey

Justin Bieber reportedly plans to distance himself from Kanye West after the latter made comments about the former’s wife Hailey Bieber.

Earlier this week, Kanye took to social media to allege that Hailey had previous relations with Drake. From there, Ye ripped the model for getting a nose job, which she denies, writing, “They want corny ass Gigi Hadid and nose job Hailey Baldloose to rally behind an obvious Corey Gamble level nonfashion industry plant.”

Ye then targeted Justin, saying, “Get your girl before I get mad. You spose to be my friend right.”

TMZ reports Bieber has had enough of Kanye’s antics.

“Sources close to Justin and Hailey tell us they’re obviously hurt by Kanye’s attacks – especially since they were there for him in 2020 when he was going through a tough time in his life,” the outlet wrote.

Insiders told TMZ that though Bieber has previously supported West, the Chicago rapper’s recent comments have convinced Justin that “this time, he’s gotta distance himself and stand up for his wife.”

The news arrives just days after Kanye Bieber’s spouse showed kindness to Gabriella Karefa-Johnson following West’s targeting of the Vogue global fashion editor at large. Bieber wrote on her IG Stories, “My respect for you runs deep my friend! to know you is to adore you and to work with you is an honor. the most kind. the most talented. the most fun. the most chic.”

  • Kanye’s Instagram account restricted following allegations of anti-semitism

Kanye returned to Twitter and made another comment about Jewish people, writing that he’ll be going “death con 3 on Jewish people.” He is likely referring to DEFCON 3.

“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic  because black people are actually Jew also    You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

He then implied Jewish people created cancel culture.

    See original story below.

Instagram has given Kanye another slap on the wrist.

The social media platform confirmed Saturday it had restricted the artist’s verified account for alleged policy violations. A company spokesperson told NBC News their team has since removed the posts in question, but declined to provide details on the content.

NBC News points out the move came after Kanye posted his and Diddy’s text exchange, in which Ye made comments that some considered anti-Jewish.

“This ain’t a game,” Ye wrote to Diddy. “Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me. I told you this was war. Now gone get you some business.”

Kanye captioned the post: “Jesus is Jew.”

The Donda artist addressed Instagram’s decision via Twitter, where he shared a photo of him and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of IG’s parent company, Meta.

“Look at this Mark. How you gone kick me off instagram,” he wrote. “You used to be my n***a.”

Ye was also accused of antisemitism following his Thursday appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, where he briefly mentioned the Abraham Accords peace agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Ye claimed Jared Kushner—Donald Trump’s Jewish son-in-law—brokered the deal for personal profit.

“You know, he made these peace treaties. I just think it was to make money …” Kanye said, before mentioning Jared’s brother, Josh Kushner. “I just think that that’s what they’re about is making money. I don’t think that they have the ability to make anything on their own. I think they’re born into money … And it makes me feel like they weren’t serving my boy Trump the way they could’ve.”

Jewish advocacy groups criticized Kanye for his comments, claiming they perpetuated bigoted stereotypes and “antisemitic tropes like greed and control.” The American Jewish Committee (AJC) accused Ye of spewing “incoherent rants laden with racist and antisemitic undertones made on the country’s top cable news program.” They also slammed his “anti-Jewish” posts shared to his 18 million followers on Instagram.

This isn’t the first time Instagram has punished Kanye. The social media giant suspended his account back in March, after he used a racial slur in reference to The Daily Show host Trevor Noah.

  • Kanye fires back at Tremaine Emory: ‘This is the worst mistake of your life’

Kanye West is reloading on Tremaine Emory.

The polarizing creative took the shot via Instagram on Thursday, just days after Emory slammed Kanye over his behavior following the YZY Season 9 runway show in Paris. Kanye shared a box logo-inspired image that read “Tremendez,” declaring it as Emory’s new name.

“Tremaine’s new name as the BLM officer at Supreme is Tremendez,” Kanye wrote in the caption. “… You only got the job since you were Black and you used to work for me and you knew Virgil [Abloh].”

Kanye went on to accuse Tremaine of having his girlfriend record him without his knowledge so he could then use the footage to threaten him “on behalf of your Virgil-killing bosses.”

“You don’t have the money to make it out of this one alive,” Ye continued. “This is the worst mistake of your life. You broke my heart, Tremendez. I took you off the streets, Tremendez, only cause you was the struggle version of Virgil. You threatened me, Tremendez. I aaaaaam youuuuur conscious, Tremendez.”

Kanye then called on “real skaters” and “real creatives” to use the “Tremendez” graphic on bootleg tees, and “sell it as a protest to talentless NPC scumbags who get jobs over you because corporations want to control the oppressed Black vote with struggle Virgils.”

  • The Game says he’s never received a Dr. Dre beat

The Game is opening up about the fact that he’s never gotten a Dr. Dre beat.

Even though Dre is credited as an executive producer on Game’s debut studio album The Documentary, the rapper said on Uproxx’s Fresh Pair (at the 21:40 mark above) that the involvement of the Aftermath Entertainment founder was limited to oversight.

“He definitely oversaw the hell out of it, I was there,” Fresh Pair co-host Just Blaze interjected.

The Game responded, “You want Dre to oversee anything, because he’s a mastermind when it comes to that, but as far as like doing a beat for The Documentary, like…no. And I’ve never had a Dre beat in my career.”

Game said Dre would enlist producers within his own circle, such as Scott Storch and Timbaland, to work with him on Documentary. “I can’t give Dre credit for the Just Blaze, but it’s a Dr. Dre executive produced album,” he said. “People just don’t understand the underlinings and how the business works.”

The Game mentioned that Dr. Dre’s involvement, or lack thereof, on The Documentary is exactly why he previously said on Drink Champs that Kanye West did more for his career in a two-week span than Dre ever did.

Before getting into his situation with Dr. Dre, Game wanted to make it clear he’s only telling his side of the story, and not taking shots. “I’m never shooting shots at Dre, I’m only telling my story. And, my bad if you’re in it, but you’re in it,” he explained.

He continued, “Yeah, Dr. Dre signed me to Aftermath, but he wasn’t pressed to put my album out. That was 50 coming in, like, ‘Yeah, he dope as fuck, I want him in G-Unit,’ and Jimmy Iovine thought that was a good idea too. So, they put me in G-Unit, but I did not want to be in G-Unit. So that’s why I’m not on a G-Unit album, or you didn’t see me in my career with the group when you saw the group. I was just that kinda official, unofficial member.”

  • Kanye West wants Jamie Foxx to play him in a movie

The rapper, who has once again found himself at the centre of yet another controversy this week, revealed he wants Jamie Foxx to play him should a film based on his life ever be made.

Without a movie deal in the works, Kanye West has already cast a lead role.

One of the “Jesus Walks” hitmaker’s many Instagram posts this week included one where he asked his 17.9 million followers who should play him in a “Ye Movie.”

The pair collaborated several times throughout their respective glittering careers, with their first link-up being in 2003 for Foxx and Twista’s “Slow Jamz” and for the 2005 track “Gold Digger.”

Also in 2005, West was guest featured on Foxx’s track “Extravaganza.”

West praised Foxx as “one of the greatest geniuses” in the entertainment industry. Foxx won an Oscar and a Golden Globe honour in the Best Actor category for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the drama “Ray.”

It comes as West this week cruelly mocked Gabriella Karefa-Johnson’s style choices for not approving of his widely condemned merchandise, which featured “White Lives Matter” T-shirts.

Front-row guest Jaden Smith left the show immediately when he saw the designs. West was subsequently criticized by a phalanx of journalists, activists and public figures.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid is among his most notable detractors. She blasted West while defending Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson in a heated Instagram comment.

“You wish u had a percentage of her intellect. You have no idea haha…If there’s actually a point to any of your s–t she might be the only person that could save u,” Hadid, 27, wrote under a post West shared.

Vogue ultimately shared a statement in support of their employee.

“Vogue stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, our global fashion editor at large and longtime contributor. She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable,” the magazine wrote.

“Now more than ever, voices like hers are needed and in a private meeting with Ye today she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms.”

  • Adidas reviewing the Kanye West Yeezy partnership

Days after Kanye West exhibited a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt design at Paris Fashion Week, Adidas claims that it is examining its Yeezy collaboration with the rapper.

The company stated that “successful partnerships are founded in mutual respect and shared principles” without mentioning the controversy.

The rapper and fashion designer responded on Instagram, claiming the firm “stole” his designs.

That post now appears to have been deleted.

Adidas told the BBC it had made the decision to put the partnership under review after “repeated efforts to privately resolve the situation.”

A spokesperson for the German sportswear company also said that the “Adidas Yeezy partnership is one of the most successful collaborations in our industry’s history.”

In his Instagram post, Mr West also used a strong expletive, adding “I AM ADIDAS.”

Earlier this week, he was criticised after he presented a collection at Paris Fashion Week that included T-shirts with the slogan “White Lives Matter”.

The phrase Black Lives Matter, which represents opposition to racism and police brutality, was widely used after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis in the summer of 2020.

Vogue’s Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who is global fashion editor-at-large at the fashion magazine, was among those that criticised West over the T-shirts, calling the move “hugely irresponsible.”

In response, Mr West responded by lashing out at Ms Karefa-Johnson and posting photographs of her mocking her appearance to his 17.9 million followers.

In a statement, Vogue said it “stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson”.

“She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable. Now, more than ever, voices like hers are needed and in a private meeting with Ye today she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms.”

The almost decade-long partnership between Adidas and West has been strained for some time.

At the centre of their collaboration is a hugely popular range of sneakers – known as Yeezy – which cost hundreds of dollars, with new releases often selling out within minutes.

In June, he accused Adidas of making a shoe that looked similar to the distinctive Yeezy design, but was not part of their deal.

Adidas said it will continue to co-manage the partnership while the review is underway.

The announcement from Adidas comes less than a month after West’s lawyers sent a letter to fashion chain Gap to say he would no longer work with the firm.

He accused Gap of failing to honour the terms of the deal, including by failing to open standalone stores for his Yeezy fashion label.

  • Kanye West disses Kim Kardashian’s outfit: ‘made me so mad I would have went to jail before I went out in that’

During this week’s new episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian laughed over some text messages from her ex-husband, Kanye West.

While Kim was in Milan, Italy for a Prada fashion show, she shared, “Look what Kanye texted me: No white glasses. Make security wear black gloves. The orange look made me so mad, I would have went to jail before I went out in that. I’ll be home for North’s game.”

When Kim and Kanye were together, Ye was the one who styled almost all of Kim’s looks, but Kim was on her own after she filed for a divorce from Kanye in February 2021.

While some may remember when Kanye called Kim to tell her her “career is over” when he first saw one of her outfits that he hadn’t styled, apparently, the exes are still critiquing each other’s ‘fits months later.

“We can laugh about things we like or don’t like,” explained Kim. “No matter how crazy things are sometimes, we’re always going to be family and I’ll text him back and be, like, ‘You know you have been wearing those boots for a long time. So, when you’re ready to change your outfit, let me know, and then you can have advice on mine.’”

This week Kanye has been catching a lot of heat for wearing a “White Lives Matter’ t-shirt during his surprise Yeezy Season 9 fashion show in Paris and, the following day, continued to make waves on social media when he went after Vogue contributor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who shared her thoughts on his controversial clothing. On his Instagram, Ye posted pictures of Karefa-Johnson along with captions criticizing her style. So, at least Kim isn’t the only one whose style he’s dissing?

  • Lauryn Hill’s daughter defends wearing ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt

Selah Marley has come under fire for rocking Ye’s “White Lives Matter” shirt, and she’s not having it. After the model received backlash for wearing the controversial tee, she responded early on Wednesday morning, taking to her Instagram stories to call out the “hive mentality” she sees in her detractors.

“The past 24 hours has allowed me to realize that most of yall are stuck in a hive mentality. You do what the group tells you to do and think what the group tells you to think,” Bob Marley’s 23-year-old granddaughter said. “Witnessing someone break free from ‘the agenda’ sends you all into such a panic that you will do whatever it takes to force them back into the box that you feel they should exist in.”

Lauryn Hill’s daughter then doubled down on her stance, claiming she did nothing wrong and expressing she wouldn’t allow the internet to “bully” or “manipulate” her.

“You cannot bully me, manipulate me, or coax me into silence. Nor will you bully me into being who I don’t want to be. I don’t care how many tweets you make, DMs you send, or articles you write.

“Throughout all the chaos, I have yet to speak about my experience. If you know me, you know that nothing I do is without deep thought and intention. Wait til you hear what I have to say.”

After her flurry of IG stories, she shifted her attention to Kanye himself, revealing a text message she sent him. The screen grab showed the Marley descendent asking the Chicago designer to expand the conversation and continue the dialogue around the “White Lives Matter” t-shirt.

Kanye West debuted the shirt during his YZY SZN 9 fashion show during the 2022 Paris Fashion Week. He wore the controversial garment as he addressed the intimate crowd, lecturing them on bullies in the fashion industry.

As his shirt and show received backlash, West claimed that the Black Lives Matter movement was a scam.

  • Daughter of Lauryn Hill: Selah Marley defends decision to partake in Kanye’s ‘White Lives Matter’ Yeezy Show

Selah Marley, the daughter of Lauryn Hill, is defending her choice to participate in Kanye West’s Yeezy fashion show, where Black models donned his YZYSZN9 line, which included T-shirts emblazoned with the phrase “White Lives Matter,” which caused quite the online uproar.

Marley, 23, participated in the surprise Paris fashion show, confidently modeling one of the custom WLM shirts on the runway.

On Tuesday, Marley confronted spectators following the high volume of backlash, including comments, DMS, and tags after being seen in the shirt. She addressed the matter via her Instagram Story, sharing that she won’t be bullied out of her personal beliefs.

“The past 24 hours as allowed me to realize that most of yall are stuck in a hive mentality,” she began in the post. “You do what the group tells you to do and think what the group tells you to think. Witnessing someone break free from ‘the agenda’ sends you all into such a panic that you will do whatever it takes to force them back into the box that you feel they should exist in.”

Lauryn Hill’s daughter, Selah Marley, is defending her decision to walk in Kanye West’s Yeezy fashion show, where Black models wore his YZYSZN9 collection, including T-shirts embellished with the words “White Lives Matter,” which sparked quite the outrage online.

Marley stands by the decision to wear the shirt, especially since it was done with “deep thought and intention.” Marley suggested she would speak more on the topic later and even shared a text message she sent to Ye about having a conversation on the dislike surrounding the shirts and their intention.

“[I] think what we did has obviously created a lot of conversation & [I] would like us to continue that conversation & provide the necessary depth & clarity that we are both extremely capable of,” one of Marley’s texts read.

Fans were outraged by Marley’s stance, questioning how she got to these viewpoints with having such deep-rooted Black parents in the culture. These were some of the responses:

Another Black woman defending Ye is far-right analyst Candace Owens. The latter posted a photo of her and Ye behind the scenes of his surprise Yeezy fashion show sporting the problematic T-shirt with smiles on their face.

Owens defended her choice of wearing the shirt on her Daily Wire podcast by stating there are far more extraordinary circumstances for Black people to pay attention to other than the t-shirt. During her defense rant, Owens listed Black-on-Black crime, education, and obesity while mentioning “Rumors” artist Lizzo distastefully regarding her weight while supporting her argument.

“You know what we should’ve done, we should’ve put a ‘White Lives Matter t-shirt on Lizzo,” Owens said. “Maybe we could have gotten a lot of attention about obesity and how it’s actually killing black Americans.”

Owens went on to say that in her world, all lives matter, and no one specific life is special. She also mentioned a few words on a t-shirt should not dismantle the internet as it did following the picture of her and Ye.

“There is a deep irony and a sad irony when you consider that wearing a t-shirt has led to such a tremor throughout the world. A t-shirt that says ‘White Lives Matters,’ which should be implied,” Owens said. “White lives matter, black lives matter, Asian lives matter — it should be implied, yet people are angry, and they are being vicious online because they can’t believe that we have the audacity to detract from the movement, which is a lie: “Black Lives Matter.”

Another celebrity guest and model asked to wear the divisive gear was Jaden Smith. Smith tweeted about his disappointment in the choice of apparel and questioned Ye’s leadership.

“I Had To Dip. I Don’t Care Who’s It Is If I Don’t Feel The Message I’m Out,” Jaden tweeted.

“True Leaders Lead. Black Lives Matter,” he added.

According to Newsweek, The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) states the term “White Lives Matter” as a hate slogan used by white supremacists and the Ku Klux Klan.

  • Kanye tells Justin Bieber ‘get your girl before I get mad’

Kanye West kept his latest Instagram posting spree going into Wednesday night, ending one prolonged missive by throwing a stray at John Legend and telling Justin Bieber to “get your girl before I get mad.”

The reference to Hailey Bieber comes after the pop star’s 25-year-old spouse simply showed kindness to Gabriella Karefa-Johnson following West’s targeting of the Vogue global fashion editor at large. Bieber wrote on her IG Stories, “My respect for you runs deep my friend! to know you is to adore you and to work with you is an honor. the most kind. the most talented. the most fun. the most chic.”

Ye uploaded a screenshot of a headline reading “Hailey Bieber Joins Gigi Hadid in Defending Gabriella Karefa-Johnson After Kanye West Criticism.” In his caps-lock caption he sarcastically inquired, “Wait Am I canceled again??? Justin please let me know.”

    Kanye West Instagram screenshot

A couple hours later, amid a string of posts defending his “White Lives Matter” t-shirt and its supposed “paradigm shifting,” Kanye wrote, “I wanna just let everybody know there was also some fashion this week also. There was a major thing called Fashion Week which really last a month and there were some very well done crazy overpriced clothes being shown. It wasn’t just about my paradigm shifting t-shirt.”

“Just kidding. My tee shit on every body’s showssss,” continued the former 38-year-old-8-year-old, now imbued with 45 years of wisdom and maturity. “Nothing happened but my T shirt. To the Arnaults that hire anybody that worked for me, remember my one T shirt took allllll the attention. Beuase [sic] you’re all fucking programmed sheep. Aaaaaaaaand those boots Gab was wearing were fucking traaaaaaaaaaash.”

He then delivered the coup de grâce referencing his fellow artists: “But I’m sure John Legend still wants a pair. And Justin get your girl before I get mad.”

  • Kanye West calls ‘Black Lives Matter’ a “scam” amid ‘white lives matter’ shirt backlash

Kanye West briefly addressed backlash he received Monday for wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt to his YZY SZN 9 runway show in Paris, referring to “Black Lives Matter” as a scam.

“EVERYONE KNOWS BLACK LIVES MATTER WAS A SCAM,” the artist, 45, posted to his Instagram Stories early Tuesday morning. “NOW IT’S OVER. YOU’RE WELCOME.”

As an organization, Black Lives Matter has been under heavy scrutiny due to allegations of misappropriating donated funds, with Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation leader Shalomyah Bowers being accused of stealing $10 million in donations just last month.

The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation also faced criticism after the cash purchase of a $6 million home in Los Angles in 2020.

While the organization has faced scrutiny, BLM as a movement continues to garner support from many seeking social justice. Ye’s “White Lives Matter” shirt set off a wave of disappointed responses from several public figures, including journalist Van Jones, who shared an image of Ye in the shirt to Instagram captioned, “Ya’ll.”

Within his comment section, he elaborated, responding to a follower who asked, “do white lives not matter?”

“We don’t need a reminder of the worth of white lives,” he replied, via Yahoo. “America is a shrine to the worth of white people. This message is reactionary to a message affirming Black lives, which have never been worth anything in America.

“In its intent, it’s a white supremacist notion,” he asserted, adding that and West is “apparently centering that notion. The notion that it always has to be about white people in America is incredibly frustrating, emotionally draining and a whole problem.”

Lathan was joined by Jemele Hill, Jaden Smith, Marc Lamont Hill and others in his critique.

  • Kanye West makes runway debut at Balenciaga show in Paris

Kanye West made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday, opening Balenciaga’s Summer 2023 collection show with a scene-stealing catwalk.

Dressed in all-black, Ye walked the mud-filled runway in leather pants, a jacket that featured a “security” patch, and a baseball cap. According to Elle, Kanye’s children North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint West all attended the Balenciaga showcase, as did Kylie Jenner and Doja Cat, among others.

Balenciaga’s creative director Denma explained the mud as “a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth.”

“I’ve decided to no longer explain my collections and verbalise my designs, but to express a state of mind,” Demna added in the show notes.

“Fashion is a visual art and all we need is for it to be seen through someone’s eyes. Fashion in its best case scenario should not need a story to be sold to someone. You either like it or not. The set of this show is a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth.”

  • James Blake responds to Kanye West previewing new music he produced in London

The artist formerly known as Kanye West previewed new music on Monday night, fresh off the debut of his soon-to-be-copied take on flip-flops.

Indeed, while in attendance at the Burberry Spring/Summer 2023 aftershow party at the Twenty Two club in London, Ye previewed a selection of new songs, including one that was briefly (and incorrectly) assumed by fans to include a James Blake sample.

Blake himself later confirmed via Twitter that one of the teased tracks does not include a sample of his 2016 song “Always.” Instead, Blake said, “it’s new.” In later tweets, Blake also confirmed he produced not only the track in question but “the other two” as well.

Given that the music-previewing went down on his birthday, Blake later added he was “good for presents.”

See additional footage of Ye teasing the new tracks below. Also in the house for the Burberry party were Jordss, Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Daniel Kaluuya, Normani, and more.

It goes without saying that a Ye and Blake collaboration, although it’s currently unclear whether there are any plans for an official release of the newly teased music, marks a pairing that has long been wished for among fans. Nearly a decade ago, Ye said during an interview with Wired 96.5 in Philadelphia that Blake was his favorite artist.

“I listen to James Blake the most,” Ye said at the time. “That’s, like, my favorite artist. … Just go listen to his music and say, ‘Hey, that’s Kanye’s favorite artist.’”

  • I use notepad app for all my speeches -Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj was the recipient of this year’s video vanguard award, which recognises artists who have consistently produced creative and influential music videos.

The US rapper performed a medley of her songs as she made her entrance at the ceremony – including Monster, Super Bass and her current number one hit Super Freaky Girl, which samples the original Rick James classic.

Minaj said she had “never ever written a speech in her life”, but went offstage to retrieve her phone to read her notes as she accepted the award from members of her fan club, known as the Barbz.

She thanked key people who inspired “me and my flow” and those who gave her opportunities, naming artists such as Kanye West, Beyonce, Madonna, Britney Spears and Rihanna.

She also paid tribute to late performers Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Nipsey Hussle in her speech.

  • US election 2020: Kanye West launches unconventional bid for presidency

Kanye West has officially launched his campaign for the 2020 US presidential election, with an unorthodox rally in Charleston, South Carolina.

West, 43, is running as a candidate for his self-styled “Birthday Party”.

At the event, the rapper seemed to make policy decisions off-the-cuff and made several rants, including on abortion and on abolitionist Harriet Tubman.

Fans have questioned whether his last-minute bid for the White House is actually a promotional stunt.

The Charleston rally did little to clarify whether his run is genuine. But a now-deleted tweet sent from West’s account on Saturday, appearing to show the song list for a new album, added to the speculation.

The event, held at a wedding and conference hall in the city, was said to be open to registered guests only – but West’s campaign website had no function for people to register or RSVP.

  • Kanye West finally drops his ‘Jesus Is King’ album

Kanye West’s eagerly awaited “Jesus Is King” album released Friday.

It was a little later than his followers expected, but better late than never.
His followers had been waiting for the album to arrive at midnight, but West tweeted early Friday that there was a delay.

“To my fans Thank you for being loyal & patient,” the tweet read. “We are specifically fixing mixes on “Everything We Need” “Follow God” & “Water” We not going to sleep until this album is out!”

The rapper tweeted a track list Thursday to prepare his followers.

“JESUS IS KING,” the tweet read. “Midnight.”

The track titles include “Every Hour,” “Selah,” Follow God,” “Closed On Sunday,” “On God,” “Everything We Need,” “Water,” “God Is,” “Hands On,” “Use The Gospel” and “Jesus Is Lord.”

Folks have been checking for the album since August 29, when his wife, Kim Kardashian West, shared what appeared to be a handwritten track list with the date September 27 on social media.

Song titles included “God Is,” “Water” and “Sweet Jesus.”

But September 27 came and went with no album release.

Not that the river went completely dry — as West continued to host his Sunday Services, including in Atlanta and his native Chicago, and announced a forthcoming “Jesus Is King” IMAX film that documented those services.

On September 27, Kardashian West tweeted what appeared to be an undated track list with the words “Have faith.”

Two days later, West held an event in New York City where he reported debuted clips from the documentary and played music from the new album.

Pitchfork reported that West talked to the crowd a bit about his Coachella Sunday Service held this year during the music and art festival.

“I wasn’t fully saved during Coachella,” West reportedly said. “I came to know the truth and joy of Jesus. This album is an expression of the gospel.”
The rapper/producer and provocateur has been holding his Sunday Services for months now.

The events, some of which have drawn celebrities such as Brad Pitt, are a special mix of hip hop and spiritual.

The weekly services started out are invitation-only, and followers first learned of them in January.

“It’s honestly more like a healing experience for my husband,” Kardashian West told Elle. “It’s just music; there’s no sermon. It’s definitely something he believes in — Jesus — and there’s a Christian vibe. But there’s no preaching. It’s just a very spiritual Christian experience.”
She said it’s open to all faiths.

“Everyone that comes understands it’s just a really healing experience with an amazing choir and amazing messages about love to start off your week,” the reality TV star said.

The album release comes the same day his IMAX film “Jesus Is King” is set to hit select theaters.

The movie was directed by Nick Knight and filmed in James Turrell’s large-scale artwork, the Roden Crater, in the desert of northern Arizona.
On Thursday, West told Zane Lowe in an interview for Beats 1 that he will also be releasing a Sunday Service album titled “Jesus is Born” at Christmas.
