Princess of Wales reportedly embraces faith amid her cancer journey

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has reportedly turned to faith for support as she navigates her cancer journey.

According to royal biographer Robert Hardman’s newly updated book, Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, Kate, 42, has grown “more interested” in her spiritual life since her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatments, a development first disclosed in March.

An excerpt from the book, published in The Daily Mail, quotes a family friend who attends church, saying, “I would say that things are more hopeful there.”

While Kate’s faith has deepened, her husband Prince William, described by sources as “a modern young man,” is reportedly less inclined toward religious ceremony. According to Hardman, William “gets embarrassed by certain aspects of ceremonial and religion,” a contrast to his father, King Charles III, who has long held a “deeply rooted” faith in the Church of England and championed religious values globally.

Hardman’s original release of the book in January 2024 hinted that Prince William might not take on the traditional title of Supreme Governor of the Church of England upon becoming king, breaking with a centuries-old tradition dating back to King Henry VIII. A palace insider noted that, unlike his father and the late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William is “not instinctively comfortable in a faith environment,” though he respects the institution.

Kate, who revealed her diagnosis in a heartfelt video message in March, completed chemotherapy in September. While she acknowledged her path to full recovery remains ongoing, she expressed hope and gratitude for the strength she has found through faith and family during this challenging period.

  • Kate Middleton to rest for several months following stomach surgery

Kate Middleton to rest for several months following stomach surgery

The Princess of Wales had an operation on her stomach and is now in the hospital getting better, according to Kensington Palace.

She went to The London Clinic yesterday and will stay there for about two weeks to get better after having a successful surgery on her stomach.

She will rest at home in Windsor for a few more weeks and be checked on regularly.

According to doctors, the Princess probably won’t be able to go back to her usual work until after Easter.

The Palace didn’t say what she was treated for but said it wasn’t cancer.

King Charles will have an operation for a big prostate next week, said Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace said that Princess Kate was taken to the hospital for a planned surgery on her stomach.

The surgery went well, and she will stay in the hospital for 10 to 14 days before going home to recover.

According to the doctors, it’s not likely that she will be back to work in public until after Easter.

The Princess of Wales is glad that people will be interested in this statement. She wants people to understand that she wants her kids to have a normal life, and she wants her health information to stay private.

Kensington Palace will only give updates on Her Royal Highness when there is important new information to share.

The Princess of Wales is sorry that she has to cancel her upcoming events and hopes everyone understands. She is excited to bring back as many people as she can, as soon as she can.

Prince William will also not do his official job when his wife is in the hospital and when she comes back home.

He will stay with her and take care of their three kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis, and will cancel some plans.

This means the couple will not be able to attend important events like the Bafta awards and the Royal Family’s annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.

At the London Clinic, Kate is getting medical care.

Kate had surgery at a well-known hospital in London that has been used by important people like Prince Philip and Princess Margaret in the past. She is now getting better there.

A few doctors from Harley Street wanted to start a new nursing home with the best medical care available at that time.

The website says it was started with the idea of offering great service all in one spot.

The hospital does operations and tests to check for problems, treats sicknesses and injuries, and provides blood and blood products.

It has seven big rooms for surgery, three extra rooms for surgery, and six special areas for different kinds of surgery like urology, gynaecology, thoracic surgery, orthopaedics, and spinal procedures.

Since 1935, the hospital has been a charity and has helped train new doctors and nurses. It has also paid for Europe’s biggest stem cell collection unit.

Several buildings at the site have been opened by royal family members since the 1980s.

Prince Charles opened the physiotherapy department in 1989, Princess Margaret opened the MRI unit in 1991, and the Queen revealed a new cancer unit in 2010.

In June 2021, a report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) said the hospital is doing a good job.

The hospital sees around 23,000 people staying overnight and another 110,000 people for appointments, according to the health organization.

Other well-known people who went to the hospital were former US president John F Kennedy and actress Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth Taylor went to the hospital after she fell from a movie set.

Kate will be in the hospital for 10 to 14 days to get better.

Kate and William won’t be traveling to other countries in the next few months. The royal officials will let us know how Kate is doing when the time is right.

Two trips abroad that were supposed to happen soon have been delayed.

The rest of the Middleton family will come together to support Kate at home.

This includes mom and dad, Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as brothers and sisters Pippa Matthews and James Middleton.

Kate went to the hospital because she had very bad morning sickness when she was pregnant.

Kate was last seen in public a little over three weeks ago during Christmas Day. She was celebrating at Sandringham.

She was seen with William and their three kids as they greeted people at the usual church service.

Kate celebrated her 42nd birthday on January 9 and shared a picture of herself from behind the scenes of King Charles’s coronation.

The London Clinic has helped other members of the royal family in the past, such as Prince Philip and Princess Margaret.

  • Future king Prince George is able to play between royal duty and childhood as a result of Middleton’s background

Future king Prince George is able to play between royal duty and childhood as a result of Middleton’s background

Prince George will turn 10 on July 22. As he approaches this milestone birthday, his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, are trying to ensure he has a typical upbringing while also putting him in position to one day succeed to the throne.

“It’s a massive balancing act,” one palace insider tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s cover story. “William and Kate are doing the right thing, protecting him so he can have as normal a childhood as possible, but he’s also dipping into duties as a future monarch.”

The insider adds, “He’s getting firsthand experience of what it’s like to be a royal and a monarch and firsthand experience of being a normal boy.”

Prince George’s unique role was apparent at King Charles’ coronation in May when he acted as one of his grandfather’s Pages of Honor during the crowning ceremony. While his younger siblings — Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — joined the congregation at Westminster Abbey, George became the youngest future king to play an official role in a coronation.

“He was terrific,” says a close family friend.

Prince William and Princess Kate, both 41, were aware of the pressure their eldest child would feel in the spotlight but felt he was ready for the task.

Adds a guest, “The service was emotional and family-oriented and very inclusive — and George played his part.”

But at home, Prince George has a very different upbringing than previous heirs to the throne, thanks in large part to his mother’s childhood outside the royal fold.

“Coming from a different background, she appreciates the
importance of having family time,” says a source close to the royal household. “She wasn’t brought up in that aristocratic setting where you see the children for a short time each day.”

Although they have the help of longtime nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, Princess Kate regularly drives her kids to school and makes sure she or Prince William is home most evenings for their return.

The family of five often gathers in the kitchen to make kid-friendly dinners and decorate cakes. “The princess asked if we make our own dough and said that they love making pizzas with their children,” says Pete Morris, whose Little Dragon Pizza Van the couple visited in Wales in April. And Kate recently used an official outing to ask The Great British Bake Off finalist Alice Fevronia for tips on making a smooth frosting.

The Princess of Wales has also talked about the family’s love of the outdoors. In a 2020 interview on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Kate said she was happiest when “I’m with my family outside in the countryside, and we’re all filthy dirty.”

“Someone did ask me the other day, what would you want your children to remember about their childhood?” she continued. “

And I thought that was a really good question, because actually if you really think about that, is it that I’m sitting down trying to do their maths and spelling homework over the weekend?

“Or is it the fact that we’ve gone out and lit a bonfire and sat around trying to cook sausages that hasn’t worked because it’s too wet?”

Kate’s parents are also heavily involved in Prince George and his siblings’ lives, with Carole Middleton taking George to his favorite candy shop, Mable’s Paint Pot, and on other outings in Kate’s hometown of Bucklebury.

  • Prince Harry and Kate Middleton’s close ‘sibling’ bond before royal exit

Prince Harry and Kate Middleton’s close ‘sibling’ bond before royal exit

The Duke of Sussex has been open about his strained relationships with members of the royal family, however, there was a time when he once shared a close bond with his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, over the years.

The pair have known each other since they were teenagers with Kate having met Harry’s brother, Prince William, while they were studying at the University of St Andrews.

As a royal girlfriend, she joined her future husband William on family holidays with King Charles and Harry. And at the Order of the Garter ceremony in Windsor in 2008, Harry made sure that Kate felt at ease at such a public outing by making her laugh.

When William and Kate announced their engagement in 2010, Harry was delighted for the pair, telling German newspaper Bild: “I’ve always wanted a sister and now I’ve got one. I’ve known Kate for years, and it’s fantastic that she is becoming part of the family.”

When William, Kate and Harry shared a joint household, they would often carry out engagements together. One of our favourite events was when the trio visited the Harry Potter film set at Warner Bros. Studios in 2013. They laughed as they played with wands during their tour.

The Princess was also pregnant with her eldest child, Prince George, at the time, and Harry has previously spoken about his love for his nephews, George and Prince Louis, and niece, Princess Charlotte, telling The Daily Mail: “They are the most amazing things ever.”

We wonder what Harry said to his sister-in-law to make her giggle so much on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as they attended Trooping the Colour in 2014. The pair often share a carriage in the procession, usually with Queen Consort Camilla, and then later with Harry’s wife Meghan Markle.

In the end, when relationships were already broken, Kate was seen walking with Harry towards Windsor Castle following Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021. At the time, their reunion went viral as it appeared Kate was trying to be a bridge between the two brothers.

Over a year later, shortly after the Queen’s death, the Prince and Princess of Wales made an appearance in Winsdor and were surprisingly reunited with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the emotional outing. Harry and Meghan joined the pair after the Prince of Wales personally extended an invitation to them. Crowds broke into applause seeing the royals couples together with William, Kate and Meghan shaking hands with members of the public.

  • King Charles set to gift William and Kate the huge Frogmore House mansion

It appears that Kate Middleton and Prince William will soon be adding a new home to their growing collection. The Sun reports that King Charles has “earmarked” Frogmore House for the new Prince and Princess of Wales,

The house (really, it’s a full-blown mansion) was built in 1684 on the Windsor Estate, and if it sounds familiar that might be because it was the location of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding reception. And speaking of the Sussexes, Frogmore House is fully different from their home Frogmore Cottage—which is nearby and also on the Windsor Estate.

A reminder that William and Kate literally just moved from their country home Anmer Hall to Adelaide Cottage, and apparently they aren’t super thrilled about the prospect of moving again now that Charles is King and royal property re-shuffle is taking place. But The Sun reports that while there’s no info on what “the Wales family would do” with Frogmore House, its “attraction may be too great to ignore.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail recently reported that there’s a “radical drive to overhaul the vast Royal estate,” and there was even some talk of moving William and Kate into Windsor Castle proper. As the outlet put it: “Charles’s wide-ranging plans include turning Balmoral into a museum to the Queen and moving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge into Windsor Castle.”

“The Prince of Wales [now King Charles] strongly believes that these places have got to deliver something for the public beyond just being somewhere for members of the Royal Family to live,” a source said. “Everything is seen through the lens of the question: ‘What value is this offering to the public? Everybody recognizes it makes no sense to run so many residences but if you give them up entirely you will never get them back when Prince George and the younger Royals grow up and need somewhere to live.”

  • Meghan Markle was allegedly ‘obsessed’ with making right rumor involving Kate Middleton

If there’s one story that never seems to simmer down is the Meghan Markle-Kate Middleton crying incident around the time of her wedding. Did Meghan make Kate cry as it was reported in the press, or did Kate make Meghan cry as she stated in her Oprah Winfrey interview?

That dramatic incident is getting a full deep-dive in an upcoming book by Valentine Low, Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition, and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor. While the palace reportedly wanted to avoid discussion around “personal tittle-tattle” stories in the royal family, Meghan “became obsessed” with setting the record straight, per an excerpt obtained by the Mail Online, via The Sun.

When news of the disagreement first leaked, the Duchess of Sussex hoped the palace would “put something out denying the story” — and we don’t blame her, that’s how it would be handled in Hollywood. Of course, the story took on a life of its own in the press, even though that was the exact reason the communications office gave her for not making a statement.

It’s understandable why Meghan felt helpless in this situation, especially if her side of the story is accurate. If she didn’t do anything wrong, then why would the palace let her take the blame? It pits the two women against each other and likely made Meghan feel like only Kate would be protected behind palace walls. It’s only human to have those feelings, and the palace should have set the record straight the moment it leaked to the press.

  • King Charles was “irritated” Kate Middleton got more attention than him

Multiple bombshell books about the royal family just dropped, including The New Royals by author Katie Nicholl, which sheds some light on King Charles’s somewhat tense relationship with Kate Middleton in the early days of her time in the royal family. TL;DR: Charles didn’t exactly love how much attention his daughter-in-law got for being so stylish.

Why, you ask, while rolling your eyes? Apparently, the future King was reminded of how the public focused more on Princess Diana than on him during their tense relationship.

“Her star immediately eclipsed her husband’s, causing early fractures in their relationship,” Nicholl wrote, via Entertainment Tonight. “The diligent, sensitive, and status-conscious Charles found it hard to understand. He could not see that in the new media age, being a royal-born prince and future king was a lesser currency than his wife’s megawatt beauty and disposition.”

Charles found himself once again pushed out of the spotlight when Kate entered the picture and everyone was immediately fascinated by her—not to mention obsessed with her fits.

“In the past, father and son hadn’t always seen eye to eye. There was a well-documented clash of opinions in 2013 over the palace’s priceless collection of ivory, for one,” Nicholl writes. “And Charles was sometimes irritated that Kate’s frocks got more media attention than his good works.”

Um. Okay, Charles! Anyway, on top of that ridiculousness, Charles was also upset that he didn’t spend enough time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. As Nicholl puts it, he “had been hurt by not seeing as much of his Cambridge grandchildren as he might have liked.”
