Are you the ghostwriter for “The President Ghana Never Got?” – Anyidoho quizzes Mahama

Koku Anyidoho, the former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, following his recent remarks at the NDC’s manifesto launch in Winneba on August 24, 2024.

In his speech, Mahama referenced the new book by investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, titled The President Ghana Never Got, as he took aim at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mahama used the book to label Akufo-Addo as “The President Ghana Never Got” and criticized his administration’s governance and economic management.

Anyidoho, however, has taken issue with Mahama’s use of the book in his address.

He suggested that Mahama’s mention of the book could lead to speculation about the former president’s involvement in its creation.

“When you use the title of a newly released book in this manner, it opens the door for people to wonder if you had a hand in its production,” Anyidoho remarked in a social media post.

He further pointed out the irony of Mahama promoting a book with a critical title while his brother is considering legal action against it.

Anyidoho expressed his concern about the confusion surrounding the situation, suggesting that there is a certain degree of disarray within the Mahama family.

  • Mahama appears to have a hand in the production of Manasseh Azure’s book – Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has voiced strong criticism against the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

This backlash follows Mahama’s comments during the NDC’s manifesto unveiling event held in Winneba on August 24, 2024.

In his address, Mahama cited insights from investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni’s latest book, The President Ghana Never Got, to target President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

During the event, Mahama took a swipe at President Akufo-Addo, mockingly labeling him as “The President Ghana Never Got.”

He accused the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration of poor governance, stating that their tenure has made life unbearable for Ghanaians.

“Most Ghanaians will agree that Nana Akufo-Addo is indeed the President Ghana never got. Indeed, I dare say, his much-touted economic whiz kid, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is also the economic messiah Ghana never got,” Mahama stated during his address.

However, Koku Anyidoho has voiced his dissatisfaction with Mahama’s remarks. He argues that Mahama’s allusion to the book might inadvertently suggest that the former president had some involvement in its production, stirring unnecessary speculation.

“When you refuse to exercise deep discretion, and use the title of a recently launched book this way, would people not be allowed to speculate that you had a hand in the manufacturing of the book? I wrote speeches for Candidate/Prez Mills so I know what I’m talking about. SMH,” Anyidoho questioned in a social media post on the same day.

He added, “Irony: he has decided to be the promoter of the book titled ‘The President Ghana Never Got’ while his brother is threatening to go to court over the same book.

The spirit of confusion is certainly hovering over a certain family,” he said in a social media post on August 24, 2024.

JM is a joker – Koku Anyidoho pooh poohs ‘late’ NDC manifesto

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former aide to the late President John Evans Atta-Mills, has lashed out at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for not launching its manifesto before the ruling government.

In a post on X, Koku Anyidoho criticized NDC leader John Dramani Mahama, calling him a ‘joker’ for not being more proactive in presenting their plans and policies before the ruling party’s manifesto launch.

“No serious opposition leader, particularly a former president, should permit the government of the day to release its manifesto before you do,” Anyidoho shared in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on August 19, 2024.

According to him, this might damage the party’s standing as Ghanaians already have all the necessary information from the NPP’s manifesto.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) launched their manifesto on August 18, 2024, at Ghana Secondary and Technical School (GSTS) in Takoradi, Western Region.

Meanwhile, the NDC is scheduled to unveil theirs on August 24, 2024, at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah auditorium, University of Education, Winneba.

Anyidoho reveals why Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and others are ‘jealous’ of him

Former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has explained why he believes Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and some other individuals feel envious of him.

According to him, it all stemmed from his multiple influential roles and responsibilities during the era of late President John Evans Atta Mills.

Mr Anyidoho explained that official duties on presidential trips were part of the roles that were only assigned to him.

However Nii Lantey and others did not have official roles on these trips.

He said they sometimes got their names on the list through state protocol, but the president would often remove them from the list.

As a result, Mr Anyidoho added that he was seen as the favored individual, leading to envy from others.

“A lot of the jealousy that came around me was that, I was the speech writer. I was the image manager. I was the PR person. I was the one managing the press call. So I had official duties to perform on those presidential trips. Nii Lantey and the other people had no official trip. Sometimes they will go through state protocol, get their names on the list, but the president will vet and take off their list. So the thing became ” Vice Koku now become the beloved son”. They knew I was not the one taking off the list.

“So on this trip to china, we are there in China, then Nii Lantey arise with a huge business delegation. The president gets raid of it because Chief of Staff has called to say Nii Lantey has left the presidency without any permission. “Are you the one who gave him the permission? President says No. Some of the business men are alleging that he collected money from them before he brought them to the trip.” The president hears and he says “Koku because of your relationship with me, I am going to send you. Go and tell him how angry I am. He is not supposed to be here and he is here. If he doesn’t get on the next plane back to Ghana, I will make sure the Chief of Staff dismisses him and that will be the end of his political career.”

“So I had this unpleasant duty of having to go and meet my brother and friend and pass on this information. Fast forward president Mills dies, and that what Nii Lantey uses to buy his way into the John Mahama camp. “That oh don’t mind Koku. He was ditching all of us to Mills.” That’s how wicked Nii Lantey is,” the former deputy General Secretary of the NDC told the media.

I am the victim, Mahama is playing the victim card – Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has rejected claims that he harbors animosity toward the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview with Metro TV, Mr Anyidoho countered the allegations of victimization, asserting that he is the true victim in their ongoing political dispute.

He accused Mahama of orchestrating a campaign to have him removed from his position, revealing that individuals such as Martey Newman, Omani, and Uncle Ato had informed him of Mahama’s suggestion that he should resign.

He also recounted receiving multiple calls from various people urging him to take a leave of absence.

Mr Anyidoho remarked that such a leave would have made it difficult for him to return to his role, suggesting that Mahama’s real intention was to force his removal.

“Mr Newman, I have never said this story but after 12 years to the extent that you people continue to sit down and let Mahama and let boys play the victim card as if I am the bad person, Mr Newman, after 12 years I am mentioning your name, uncle Ato I am mentioning your name because I will not allow them play the victim as if I am the bad person.

“I have always been the victim but for the sake of cohesion I have kept quiet. But after 12 years I will mention the names and let the whole world know that the victim that Mahama is playing is fake. I am the real victim. Martey Newman tells me that John Mahama says that he cannot work with me so I should leave the presidency. At that point I said well Omani has told me, Uncle Ato has told me, Martey Newman you are telling me, so I said please go and tell the president that I am not going on leave and I am not leaving the presidency because we have an election to win and I have to protect the legacy of Atta Mills. Me going on leave was a ploy by Mahama to sack me,” he added.

DRIP initiative was started by Mahama? Tell us JM created the world – Anyidoho to NDC

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has criticized the party’s leadership for trying to take credit for President Akufo-Addo’s recently introduced District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).

Mr Anyidoho’s comments came after the Deputy Minority Whip and NDC MP for Banda, Ahmed Ibrahim, claimed in an Okay FM interview that the DRIP was originally initiated by former President John Mahama in 2016.

Mr Ibrahim argued that Mahama launched the project in July 2016, but its impact was limited due to the merger of the Ministry of Information with the Ministry of Communication.

“This DRIP project was something that President Mahama launched in July 2016. President Mahama’s problem was that he dissolved the Ministry of Information and combined it with the Ministry of Communication. So, there were a lot of things that he did but were not communicated.

Responding on X on August 2, 2024, Koku Anyidoho expressed his dissatisfaction with the NDC’s attempt to credit Mahama for the DRIP.

In one of his X posts, he stated, “Desperation is NOT good ooo!!! Listen to how this JM puppet attempts to steal the DRIP Initiative for his boss but ends up indicting the policy of merging the Information & Communications Ministries.

“This is a BIG indictment on JM that’s why he must have a DEBATE with DMB.”

He added, “What is happening to my NDC? This is shocking!!! They are now saying that the DRIP Initiative was started by JM. In one breath, the NPP Govt is doing nothing; in another breath, all the NPP projects are JM’s projects. Soon, they will say JM created the world. Haba!”

The DRIP initiative aims to provide metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies (MMDAs) with the necessary resources and equipment to rehabilitate and maintain roads in their jurisdictions.

Family to bar Koku Anyidoho from using Atta Mills’ name

The family of the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills is set to seek a court injunction against CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, to prevent him from using the late President’s name for his activities.

The family accuses Anyidoho of tarnishing the reputation of the former President.

Following a disruption at the wreath-laying ceremony marking 12 years since President Mills’ passing at the Asomdwee Park, Samuel Atta Mills, the late President’s brother, expressed the family’s frustration with Anyidoho.

He condemned Anyidoho for tampering with Prof. Atta Mills’ grave without the family’s consent.

“When we came he was here with a rented family, so we just gave him a little bit of encouragement to get out of here and he ran away like the coward that he is.

“The next move is to put an injunction on him for using the name Atta Mills, he’s not Atta Mills and he will never be Atta Mills and that’s what it is,” the brother of the late President said.

Meanwhile, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, has criticized the state for allowing Koku Anyidoho, the former aide to the late President, to hold a remembrance event for him.

“Auntie Araba [Mercy Araba Ahema Quarshie] is a direct senor sister of Prof Atta Mills, Cadman Atta Mills is alive, Samuel Atta Mills is alive, the son, Kofi Atta Mills is alive. And people will come and say they are the family of Prof. Atta Mills and they are coming to perform the remembrance and national security and the whole state apparatus will permit them to do that. When for years now, the state has recognised the fact that the NDC and the family have collaborated to organise such situations.

“When his memorial heritage was launched former President Kufuor sent a delegation, the presidency sent a delegation, so the presidency cannot say that they are not aware of the existence of the memorial heritage or the annual celebration of Prof Atta Mills’ memory by the NDC and the heritage,” Nii Lante Vanderpuye asserted.

On Wednesday, Asomdwee Park witnessed chaos when the former deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) overran his allotted time, delaying the second memorial service for President Atta Mills’ family and NDC members.

Previously, the family had accused Mr. Anyidoho of bringing individuals to falsely present themselves as relatives of the late President during his wreath-laying ceremony.

No one can kill me, I move with angels – Koku Anyidoho

Former Communications Director at the Presidency, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has revealed that he has spiritually fortified himself, rendering him unafraid of any threats to his life from his enemies.

He stated that while he is mindful of his security, he believes he is under the divine protection of archangels who ensure no harm befalls him.

“I am concerned about my security but ultimately the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is protecting me. As I speak to you now, I can see my guardian angels around me. Of course I move with angels. They are four of them – Gabriel, Auriel, Michael and Rafael. They are arch-angels and not ordinary angels. Everyday I walk with them and so I don’t fear anything,” he said in an interview on Ghana Kasa on Kasapa 102.5FM on Tuesday July 16, 2024 after the Host, Bonohene Baffuor Awuah asked him if he is not scared of his life after sharing his views on political issues on social media.

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, who is a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stated confidently that not even a gunshot nor stab can kill him.

“Let somebody try to shot me, the bullet will not discharge. If someone tries to stab me, the knife will not penetrate my body. I am spiritually fortified in terms of the word of God. The Bible says no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise up against me in judgement shall be condemned. And as the Bible says in Isaiah… surely they shall gather and take counsel, they will speak the word but it shall not stand. So I know that God protects me daily and I am not scared of anything,” he said.

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, who also served as a Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), confidently asserted that no physical attack could harm him.

I’ll stage a ‘No Debate, No Presidency’ protest if you don’t debate with Bawumia – Koku Anyidoho to Mahama

Former Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has vowed to organize a protest against former President John Dramani Mahama if he declines to debate Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr Anyidoho stated that while Mahama himself has not directly addressed the debate challenge from Dr. Bawumia, associates of the former president have indicated that they do not see the need for such a debate.

He emphasized his readiness to lead a “No Debate, No Presidency” demonstration once Mahama publicly rejects the debate proposal.

He emphasized his stance in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), asserting, “For now, it is JM’s aides/cult worshipers who are saying he would not participate in any debate. I am waiting for JM himself to be bold and say to the hearing of Ghanaians that he would not participate in a debate & I will lead a massive ‘No Debate, No Presidency’ demonstration.”

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, during his campaign tour in Nalerigu on July 11, 2024, reiterated his call for a debate with Mahama on economic and governance issues.

Bawumia expressed confidence that he would expose the weaknesses in Mahama’s policies, particularly the 24-hour economy proposal.

“I am looking forward to a debate with John Dramani Mahama on the economy and governance, but I am afraid he is running away from a debate, and his people say he doesn’t want to debate.

He says he doesn’t want to debate because he knows that I will expose the emptiness of his policies. He says he has a 24-hour economy policy that he cannot explain; it is as empty as an empty barrel. None of his people can explain it, and they say they will be exporting lions and elephants.”

He further noted, “When we meet man-to-man, we can debate, and the country will see where our policies lie, and that is where we should go. Give the country an opportunity to listen to us, but if he chooses not to debate, I will continue to sell my policies to the people of Ghana, and you will take the decision.”

In response to criticisms from Mahama’s allies against the debate challenge, Mr Anyidoho underscored that he is awaiting Mahama’s personal stance on the matter before mobilizing the demonstration.

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has asserted that John Dramani Mahama is more focused on advancing his personal interests and image rather than prioritizing the goals and interests of Ghanaian citizens.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute made this claim in response to a health screening flyer featuring images of Mahama and his son.

Mr. Anyidoho believes that the flyer clearly indicates that the NDC flagbearer’s presidential ambitions are driven by personal interests.

“You see how he is just interested in promoting himself over and above the NDC? Now he is adding his children. This man is not interested in the NDC; he is only using the party as a convenient vehicle to fan his ego & personal agenda. NDC people; wake up ooo!!! Ayoo!!” Mr Anyidoho wrote on X.

NDC could be defeated in Northern Region – Koku Anyidoho ahead of 2024 Election

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has expressed pessimism for victory for the party in the Northern region, traditionally a stronghold, in the upcoming December 7, 2024, general election.

During an interview session on Kumasi-based Oyerepa TV on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Mr. Anyidoho attributed the potential decline to three main factors.

Firstly, he mentioned the discontent among the Dagombas over the removal of Haruna Iddrisu as Minority Leader, suggesting they might vote against the NDC.

Secondly, he noted that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointing Northerners to key government positions, such as Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam as Finance Minister, could garner votes for the NPP in the north.

“If you combine the three Northern regions, North East, Northern Region, Savannah, the North East Region has 6 seats; NPP has 4, we have 2. Northern proper (Region) has 18, NPP has 9, and NDC has 9. Savannah has 7, we have 4, they have 3. When you add them all up, NPP has one more seat than NDC, something unprecedented. And this was when Bawumia was just a running mate.

“Now that he is the flagbearer, the dynamics have shifted. This is North East where he has already made an impact. In the Northern Region itself, something has changed. What happened? NDC mishandled the transition of power in the minority, making it appear as if Haruna was disgracefully removed.”

He continued, “Haruna is Dagomba, right? And he is part of the 9-9. Shortly after his removal as Minority Leader, Nana Addo, in his reshuffle this year, appointed almost all the Dagomba NPP MPs to ministerial positions, including the Finance Minister.

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has revealed the only condition that must be met for him to throw his support behind the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Mr Anyidoho is an ardent critic of former President Mahama. He has in a series of posts criticised his actions and inactions.

According to Mr Anyidoho, all these will stop should Mr Mahama makes amends with the dearly departed party bigwigs and former statesmen, Jerry John Rawlings and John Evans Fifi Atta Mills.

He made this known in a post on X when he expressed excitement over Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong’s decision to support his one time contender for the NPP flagbearership position, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“In unity lies strength. Kennedy joins the “It Is Possible” bus with Bawumia. Maybe one day, when JM makes the move to reconcile with the souls of Papa J & Prez Mills, I will join his bus,” he wrote.

Mr Anyidoho believes that Mr Mahama was unfair to the duo while they were alive.

Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has joined the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team in the Ashanti Region, ahead of the country’s upcoming polls.

Earlier, Alex Tetteh, a prominent figure in Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign and the convener for Citizen Eye, Ghana revealed that the MP would be joining the party’s flagbearer.

Mr Agyapong left the United States to bolster the New Patriotic Party’s efforts towards securing a victory.

“Kennedy Agyapong is in the United States of America currently. He will be back soon and he will join the campaign to get Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to become President. He said after the primaries that he will join the campaign and that is what he will do,” he said.

On Monday, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia began a three-day tour of the Ashanti Region as part of campaign activities.

Why didn’t you hold any event to celebrate our 32nd birthday – Anyidoho asks NDC leadership

Former Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has accused the party of not holding any event to commemorate its 32nd anniversary.

According to him, the opposition party also failed to observe the 45th anniversary of the June 4th Revolution, a significant event in Ghana’s history.

According to him, the ethos of the June 4 coup forms the foundation of the NDC, and anyone who claims to be a member of the party must commit to observing June 4 and abiding by its principles.

As such he chided the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, holding him responsible for the party’s alleged failure.

“So, the NDC did not hold any Event yesterday to mark our 32nd birthday? They ignored June 4, days ago & they have ignored this one too. The “Regime Change” media houses shd get it into their heads that if JM continues to disrespect the soul of the NDC he will suffer for it,” he wrote in a post on X.

Meanwhile, flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has stated that the next NDC government will build a Ghana united in purpose, stable in governance, and developed in opportunity for all.

In his message for the NDC’s 32nd anniversary on June 10, the former President assured the rank and file of the party of his commitment to the NDC’s powerful campaign message of “Building the Ghana we want together.”

According to him, the message is not just a slogan but a call to action that echoes the party’s motto.

“Our party’s motto, ‘Unity, Stability, and Development’, is not just a slogan but a guiding principle for our daily work. It reminds us that only by coming together as one nation can we achieve the stability and development that we all aspire to.

“As we prepare for the December elections, I am reminded of our powerful campaign message: Building the Ghana we want together. This message is not just a slogan but a call to action that echoes our party’s motto. It underscores the crucial role of unity in propelling our country forward, the necessity of stability in our political and economic landscape, and our unwavering commitment to development for all our citizens.

“Our supporters are the backbone of the NDC, and I want to assure you that we remain steadfast in our commitment to these principles. Together, we will build a Ghana that is united in purpose, stable in governance, and developed in opportunity for all. Your unwavering support fuels our determination to work tirelessly towards these goals and create a brighter future for every Ghanaian.”

Mussa Dankwah will definitely lie about NDC MPs thrashing his anemic electoral survey – Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, who earlier stated that Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, was once expelled from a meeting of NDC MPs in the Volta Region for disseminating inaccurate election surveys, has reiterated his stance.

Anyidoho remarked that Mr. Dankwah does not belong to the group of individuals who should influence Mahama regarding election results, although the current situation suggests otherwise.

Mr. Anyidoho recounted an incident where NDC MPs removed Mr. Dankwah from a meeting in the Volta Region due to a false survey.

“About 3 months ago NDC MPs attended a retreat in Ho. Mussa Dankwah was invited. We are hearing rumours that you are roaming with a certain survey. Can you show it to us? The long and short of it is that, when he was done, the MPs told him that, “Masa, we are the ones on the grounds. You are telling us that we will win 180 and more seats in parliament. When did you wakeup from sleep, that you say NDC will win 185 seats in parliament in this election?” That’s how we even heard that Musa Danquah was sacked from the meeting at Volta Serene Hotel”, Mr Anyidoho said.

In a recent development, Mr Dankwah dismissed these claims. He noted that despite being present at an NDC meeting, his survey on elections was not rubbished as being suggested.

Mr Anyidoho insists the Global InfoAnalytics director cannot be trusted on what should be expected at the end of an election.

“Despicable” Asiedu-Nketiah also wants to be president – Anyidoho claims

Former NDC Deputy General Secretary, Samuel Anyidoho, has expressed support for Martin Amidu’s criticism towards NDC’s top members, including Chairman Asiedu Nketiah.

Martin Amidu accused Asiedu Nketiah of engaging in numerous illegal activities, including his role on the Parliamentary Service Board.

“Only idiots will cherish the moral values of such a Chairman of the NDC. In any case, Asiedu Nketiah and John Mahama, have you ever heard that as a politically exposed person, I set up a stevedoring company and was assisted by GPHA to milk Ghanaians during the regime of any of the Governments under which I served? Did I publicize the facts about Asiedu Nketiah’s stevedoring business at Tema as the Special Prosecutor before I sent Joshua Hamidu Akamba to warn him about attacking my integrity?” he reportedly said.

In support of Mr Amidu’s allegations, Mr Anyidoho also took to X is write that Asiedu Nketia is praying for John Mahama’s defeat in the elections.

“Ghana seems to have lost its political image to the extent that, this extremely despicable character called Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah is also nursing Presidential ambitions. His prayer is for JM to lose again so he b’cms automatic Leader of NDC & use it to catapult his agenda,”

Ghanaian politician Koku Anyidoho has stirred up fresh controversy surrounding the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with his latest social media posts.

Anyidoho highlighted revelations made by former special prosecutor Martin Amidu, shedding light on alarming issues within the NDC.

Addressing the issue, Anyidoho emphasized that Amidu’s disclosures are just the beginning, hinting at deeper layers of undisclosed information.

He specifically called out Asiedu Nketia, urging him to clarify the circumstances surrounding a significant land acquisition for the NDC Party School in Oyibi.

These revelations have reignited public scrutiny and raised questions about transparency and accountability within the NDC, further intensifying political tensions in Ghana.

He’s cooling off in London whiles Bawumia works the ground – Anyidoho jabs Mahama

Former Deputy General for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has chided the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama, over his alleged absence in the country as the country readies for the 2024 general elections.

He claims that the former President Mahama is in London to “cool off” as his main rival, the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, continues to campaign strongly ahead of the polls.

“Exactly a year today, the NDC allowed a Flagbearer to emerge via means that were not too illuminating when Dr. Duffuor was muscled out of the race. A year on, there is still no serious work being done to convince voters as he cools off in London and ceding the ground to DMB,” he wrote in a post on X.

It is unknown whether Mr Mahama is currently in the country or not.

NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has intensified his community engagement by conducting a house-to-house campaign during his tour of the North East Region.

Since the beginning of his regional tour, Dr. Bawumia has engaged with various groups, including market women, taxi drivers, and people from all walks of life on the streets, making his campaign impactful.

In his latest move to connect with voters, Dr. Bawumia conducted a house-to-house campaign in the North East Region. Despite early morning rains, residents of Walewale gave him a warm reception, and he proceeded to walk through the rain on the main street to begin his engagements.

Former Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has criticized certain party members for undermining the campaign strategies of Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr Anyidoho pointed out parallels between this situation and the skepticism faced by the NPP during the candidacy of professor John Fiifi Atta-Mills in 2008, suggesting a recurring pattern in Ghana’s political history.

In a post on the X platform, Mr Anyidoho, renowned for his political insight, emphasized the effectiveness of Bawumia’s campaign methods.

“When I hear political neophytes in NDC saying Bawumia is “joking” with this type of very effective campaign, it reminds of how the NPP sneered at Candidate Atta-Mills when we did this in 2008 and won. Tables have turned & history has a very interesting way of repeating itself,” he wrote.

He expressed disappointment at some NDC members, particularly those inexperienced in politics, for downplaying the importance of Bawumia’s efforts.

Mr Anyidoho urged fellow NDC members not to underestimate Bawumia’s initiatives, highlighting the potential consequences of dismissing them as insignificant.

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Vice President of Ghana and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, commenced a tour of the Bono Region.

During his visit to Sunyani and Fiapre, Dr. Bawumia engaged with a variety of constituents, including youth, traders, taxi drivers, and shop owners.

He expressed contentment with the productive interactions and conveyed appreciation for the warm reception he received.

Dr. Bawumia also shared his vision for Ghana beyond 2024, welcoming suggestions and proposals from constituents and emphasizing his dedication to fulfilling their aspirations.

Most NDC executives hail from Ahafo Region yet their chief is endorsing Bawumia – Koku Anyidoho

A former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Ayindoho, has predicted doom for the party if it fails to intensify efforts prior to December 7 polls.

He expressed on the X platform that just as the party has faith in the people of the Volta and Oti regions due to the strong foundations laid, the same energy and strategies must also prevail among the people of the Ahafo and Brong regions.

His prediction comes after the President of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Ansah Adu Baah, called on all and sundry to rally behind the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in his quest to become the president of Ghana.

Nana Ansah Adu Baah added that “Dr. Bawumia’s humility and policies are good for the country and the next generation. I have no doubt in my mind that Bawumia means well for Ghana”.

But, according to Koku Ayindoho, it is worrying that Bawumia is gaining support from the same region where the NDC’s National Chairman, Aseidu Nketia, and some of the party’s National Executives hail form.

He added that, this should be a wake up call to the party as the Ahafo and Brong regions are like the Volta and Oti regions.

Mr Koku Ayindoho’s post on the X platform read “Is Mosquito not from this part of Ghana where this chief is endorsing Dr. Bawumia? Is the wife of the NDC Flagbearer too not from this area? Are some NDC National Executives not from this area? As for me I still consider Ahafo & Brong as one Region like Volta & Oti.

On May 6, 2024, Anyidoho expressed his disagreement with the President’s assertion via Twitter, stating, “It has not been resolved oooo!!!!,” as he shared a Citi News flyer featuring the president’s initial statement made on May 1.

During his address at the 2024 May Day celebration, President Akufo-Addo declared that the recent power outages, commonly known as ‘dumsor,’ have been resolved thanks to maintenance work carried out on transformers by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

He conveyed his assurance that a reliable power supply has been reinstated nationwide, with no instances of load shedding reported.

“Issues surrounding the maintenance of the transformers have been resolved.

“Indeed, we have witnessed a stable power supply across the country with no load shedding reported anywhere yesterday… I am confident that the unfortunate era of dumsor will not return,” President Akufo-Addo said during his speech at the Workers’ Day observation.

Koku Anyidoho’s letter of NDC supporting former Ejisu MP fake – Report

Koku Anyidoho, formerly the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), circulated a correspondence bearing a letterhead purportedly from the party’s National Secretariat.

This two-page letter implied that the NDC provided financial backing to an independent candidate during the April 30 by-election in Ejisu.

The first page contained instructions from General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, purportedly directing the Ashanti Regional branch to support independent candidate Kwabena Owusu Aduomi.

However, it’s worth noting that the NDC did not nominate a candidate for this election.

Despite the NDC’s dismissal of the letter as fraudulent, labeling it as fake, Anyidoho remains adamant, suggesting that the denial came too late.

He doubled down on his stance, criticizing what he perceives as belated and lackluster professionalism within the party’s headquarters, where he has previously worked.

The difference between the alleged ‘fake’ letter and the authentic NDC letterhead:

    a. Anyidoho’s letter carries the party’s reference number ‘NDC/HQ/26/VOL.2/19,’ which had already been used for an official statement released by Kwetey on March 27.

    b. Anyidoho’s letter includes a ‘Your Ref:’ section, which is absent in known NDC letterheads.

    c. Known NDC letterheads used by Kwetey in formal communications lack postal, telephone, and email details, whereas Anyidoho’s version includes a contact section on the right side of the references.

    d. Official NDC letterheads have dates under the ‘Our reference’ section, formatted as Day, Date, Month, Year. However, Anyidoho’s version lacks the day and positions the date on the right instead of the left side.

    e. In typical party correspondence, the General Secretary’s sign-off includes ‘Fifi Fiavi Kwetey’ followed by ‘General Secretary,’ then ‘National Democratic Congress (NDC).’ Anyidoho’s letter omits the third detail.

    f. Anyidoho’s letter displays irregular formatting for persons listed under ‘cc:’, with the text appearing smaller and squeezed to the bottom compared to the font used throughout the letter.

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho has downplayed John Mahama’s vision for “A Better Ghana.”

Anyidoho contends that late President Atta Mills was the only leader genuinely committed to advancing a Ghana that benefits all citizens.

He suggests that Mahama’s version of “A Better Ghana” prioritizes the interests of his inner circle over the welfare of every Ghanaian.

Thus, he concludes that what Ghanaians want for ‘A better Ghana” is not the same as what Mahama is gearing up for.

“Which Ghana do we want apart from, “A Better Ghana”? Prez Mills started giving us the Ghana we All (not a few greedy bastards) want, & when you “conspired with nature” for him to “give way”, u ate all the meat & fed us bones. Obviously, the Ghana you want is not what we want,” he posted on X.

You only care about sharing posts and not Ghana – Anyidoho slams Asiedu Nketiah over ‘sharing meat’ comment

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has responded to recent comments by the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, regarding reports of internal struggles for positions by members of the party.

Asiedu Nketiah, also known as General Mosquito, has emphasized the importance of the party remaining focused on winning the 2024 elections.

He has cautioned against discussions about potential appointments and positions within the party, stating that such discussions should only occur after the elections have been won.

““Because we’re convinced that we are there, a lot of people have begun taking positions and fighting over who will be what in the next government. Some people are not only fighting about the positions they will occupy, they are telling all others that they will be the kingmakers and they will be making appointments.

“If we’re not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirit of our followers. I want to assure everybody that we’re not there yet. Don’t be fighting about positions, and don’t be talking about who will make appointments. Let’s all go for the hunting first and when we kill the game we can now argue about sharing of the meat,” he stressed while speaking at the outdooring of Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang as John Mahama’s running mate on Wednesday.

Reacting to this, Mr Anyidoho noted that the NDC appears to be interested in sharing positions for themselves to amass wealth instead of focusing on the country’s development.

One such post read: “Oyiwa! He is now crying because they have shared the post and left him and his people out? Naniama ”Wu be ti borborliborbor”. So the whole dead goat terminal 4yrs agenda is about sharing post and NOT caring about Ghana huh? God will surely save Ghana.”

“This was said at the outdooring of our Running Mate? Whaaat!!! NDC rejected me because I refused to be a part of a “scheme” for Prof Atta Mills to “give way” – Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has levelled serious accusations against certain members of the NDC party, claiming they were actively plotting to remove the late President Prof Atta Mills from power.

In a series of tweets, Anyidoho asserted that he had resisted pressure to participate in a plan aimed at ousting Prof Atta Mills from the presidency.

He described this alleged scheme as an “evil agenda” and expressed gratitude for not being part of it.

“I refused to be recruited as part of the evil agenda to support ‘nature’ to ‘scheme’ for President Atta-Mills to ‘give way’,” Anyidoho tweeted, implying a calculated move against the current leadership.
The term “give way,” as defined by the Cambridge dictionary, typically refers to yielding space for others, often in the context of traffic.

However, in this political context, it seems to imply making room for a change in leadership.

He made the statement after noting how the death of the late Mills paved way for Mahama to become president in July 2012.

How does changing of names of universities solve increase in graduate unemployment- Mahama quizzed

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has expressed skepticism regarding former President John Dramani Mahama’s plan to rename public universities upon assuming office in 2025.

Anyidoho questioned Mahama’s emphasis on renaming institutions, asserting that the focus should be on job creation and advancing a better Ghana agenda during his potential presidency.

During a discussion on Peace FM, Anyidoho remarked, “How does that solve graduate unemployment? Changing names is normal; the question is, what impact does renaming have, and we are using it as a tool for political mediocrity.”

He continued to emphasize that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should concentrate on persuading the public to garner votes for the party.

Anyidoho expressed frustration at the opposition allowing the ruling party to set the agenda, asserting, “We have sat down as an opposition party, and we are allowing the ruling party to set an agenda. It’s annoying and painful. So, if Bawumia comes and delivers his public address, including this in his submissions, what is he going to do?” Anyidoho quizzed.

John Mahama has declared that if the NDC comes into office in 2025, it will revert the names of public universities.

Mahama accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of merely renaming universities constructed by the NDC, emphasizing that the NPP had not established any new universities while in office.

Mahama asserted that while administration blocks, hostels, and libraries could bear the names of individuals, the core names of public universities should reflect their original purpose.

“And so we will restore the original names, and the names that they have given them, will be given to a significant infrastructure in the Universities.

“We will add other people and name the infrastructure in the Universities after them. But if the University is University for Development Studies, that is its core mandate. It will be called the University for Development Studies,” he stated.

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, is seeking answers from former President John Dramani Mahama  over his plan to rename public universities if elected into office in 2025.

Mr Anyidoho criticized Mahama’s proposal, arguing that the focus should be on job creation and advancing the “Better Ghana” agenda rather than renaming institutions.

In a series of tweets, Anyidoho expressed his dissatisfaction with Mahama’s intention to rename universities, suggesting that it reflects a continuation of what he described as an “endless drab cycle” of political manoeuvring.

“24hr economy to be used for honeymoon & University name change – not for Creating Jobs, Investing in People, Expanding Infrastructure, Governing in an Open, Honest & Transparent manner. Obviously, Opana never believed in the Better Ghana Agenda of Prez Mills. God save Ghana,” Anyidoho tweeted.

He questioned the efficacy of renaming universities in addressing graduate unemployment and improving Ghana’s economic situation, labeling it as part of the “do me I do you” politics that perpetuates mediocrity.

“If you name UHAS, Atta-Mills University for Health and Allied Sciences, how does that affect its core mandate? Honestly, if I was President Akufo-Addo, after building Asomdwe Park, I would name UHAS after Atta-Mills and see if Opana would dare say he would change that one too,” Anyidoho remarked.

Meanwhile, John Mahama has reiterated his commitment to revert the names of public universities if the NDC regains power in 2025. Mahama accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of merely renaming universities constructed by the NDC, emphasizing the lack of establishment of new universities by the NPP during its tenure.

Mahama emphasized the importance of maintaining the original names of public universities to reflect their core mandates, suggesting that administration blocks, hostels, and libraries could bear the names of individuals instead.

“We will restore the original names, and the names that they have given them, will be given to a significant infrastructure in the Universities. We will add other people and name the infrastructure in the Universities after them. But if the University is University for Development Studies, that is its core mandate. It will be called the University for Development Studies,” Mahama stated.

The debate surrounding university renaming continues to provoke discussion among political circles, highlighting differing perspectives on the priorities and approaches to governance in Ghana.

Former President Mahama contends that the NDC initiated and built each public university, accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of merely renaming them.

This claim was backed by Koku Anyidoho who stated that the NPP focuses on renaming existing structures that have already been built.

“We are known as nation builders because of the number of schools we have built. Every public university was initiated and built by us. All the NPP knows how to do is name universities that people have built,” Mr Anyidoho stated.

Additionally, Koku Anyidoho, (President) has questioned the assertion made by former President John Dramani Mahama that the NDC constructed all public universities.

Former President Mahama contends that the NDC initiated and built each public university, accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of merely renaming them.

In contrast to the NPP, Mahama emphasizes the NDC’s reputation for nation-building, particularly through the provision of infrastructure.

“We are known as nation builders because of the number of schools we have built. Every public university was initiated and built by us. All the NPP knows how to do is name universities that people have built.

Following the construction of a university by the NDC, they subsequently name it after one of their revered figures. We plan to rename these universities, recognizing not only the heroes from the NPP tradition but also those from various facets of Ghanaian history.

“We can name an administration block, hostel, and library after somebody. But the university must reflect its core mandate. And so we will restore the original names, and the names that they have given them will be given to significant infrastructure in the universities.

“And we will add other people and name the infrastructure in the universities after them. But if the university is the University for Development Studies, that is its core mandate. It will be called the University for Development Studies,” the flagbearer of the NDC said while addressing party supporters, chiefs, and students at Zuarungu in the Upper East Region.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is remembered for renaming the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) after Simon Diedong (SD) Dombo, a politician affiliated with the United Party tradition.

  • Why are you not asking for JB Danquah’s autopsy report? – Samuel Atta-Mills questions Akufo-Addo

Why are you not asking for JB Danquah’s autopsy report? – Samuel Atta-Mills questions Akufo-Addo

Brother of late President, John Evans Atta-Mills, and a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, Samuel Atta-Mills, has questioned President Akufo-Addo over his silence on the autopsy report of Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, popularly known as JB Danquah.

This follows a call by the former deputy General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Koku Anyidoho, backed by President Akufo-Addo, for the autopsy report of former President John Evans Atta-Mills to be made public.

Mr Anyidoho together with some kinsmen of the late President paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo and appealed to him to ensure that Prof Mills’ autopsy report is made public. According to the delegation that called on the President, there has not been an autopsy report presented to the family even after eleven years of his demise.

Addressing President Akufo-Addo, Nana Enyimfua III who initiated the appeal said “Our biggest problem as a family is that ever since I was enstooled as queenmother, I have not seen any autopsy report in the family. That is the biggest problem I have with the family because if someone asks me what killed him I won’t know if the doctor said he broke his arm or his neck or drunk something.”

“So we plead with you and the government that the family needs the autopsy report so that in future when I am no more queen mother posterity will learn from it because no child from the family knows what killed the late former president not to talk about me the queen mother in the family. So I plead with you on behalf of the family, before you leave office let us get the autopsy report.”

Mr Anyidoho made a similar call which was supported by President Akufo-Addo. This has attracted a reaction from Mr Samuel Atta-Mills, who has since been questioning the rationale for demanding his brother’s autopsy report.

In the wake of the controversy, Mr Atta-Mills has asked President Akufo-Addo to also be concerned about the autopsy report of JB Danquah, a Ghanaian chartered accountant and politician who was murdered in his home in 2016.

He was a member of the Parliament of Ghana for the Abuakwa North on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party between 2005 and 2009, and once more from 2013 until his death.

He was killed on February 9, 2016, at age 50, at his Shiashi Legon Home. Although the suspect in the murder has been apprehended, there has not been any public mention of an autopsy report of JB Danquah.

It is in view of this that Mr Samuel Atta-Mills is asking the President to also be concerned about Mr JB Danquah’s autopsy report as he is concerned with that of late President JEA Mills.

“Wasn’t JB Danquah a sitting Member of Parliament. Has his autopsy report been published?” Mr Atta-Mills questioned.

He also also asked the President and Mr Anyidoho to allow his brother rest in peace.

The sibling of the late former President Atta-Mills, Samuel Atta-Mills, has issued an appeal to both the government and Koku Anyidoho.

The former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, has requested that the name of his deceased brother, John Atta-Mills, should be allowed to rest in peace.

This appeal follows President Akufo-Addo’s endorsement of calls for the late President’s autopsy report to be officially documented in public records.

Expressing bewilderment at the persistent focus on the autopsy report, Samuel Atta-Mills questioned the rationale behind the concern, asserting that the information is already accessible in public records.

He elaborated on the availability of copies of the autopsy report, directing those interested to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and the 37 military hospital.

“What is the obsession about this autopsy report? If Koku Anyidoho is minded, he used to work for President John Evans Atta-Mills. Do you think the President was buried just like a chicken?” he said on JoyFM’s Midday News on January 13, 2024.

He further clarified that he does not share family ties with the specific individual requesting Professor Mills’ affectionately known as Asomdwe Hene’s autopsy result.

Expressing frustration, he urged political figures not to bring up such matters during election times, particularly targeting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Koku Anyidoho.

Samuel Atta-Mills stated emphatically, “How come whenever it gets to election time involving President Mahama, then all these autopsy reports and everything come up? Look NPP, Koku Anyidoho, if you don’t have anything to campaign on, please leave the peaceful Professor John Evans Atta-Mills to rest in peace.”

Atta-Mills was not buried like a chicken – Brother replies Koku Anyidoho, Akufo-Addo over autopsy report

Brother of late former President John Evans Atta-Mills, Samuel Atta-Mills has responded to Samuel Koku Anyidoho’s call for the autopsy report of the former President to be made public.

Mr Samuel Atta-Mills is urging both the government and former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho, to let the name of John Atta-Mills rest in peace.

The ongoing discourse surrounding the autopsy report of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills has taken a new turn as his brother, Samuel Atta-Mills, has responded to recent statements by Koku Anyidoho and President Nana Akufo-Addo.

His remarks come in the wake of President Akufo-Addo endorsing the demand for the official inclusion of the late John Atta-Mills’ autopsy report in public records.

This development follows concerns raised by the Odomaa Clan of Ekumfi, accompanied by that of Mr. Anyidoho, who expressed unease over the fact that they have not received the autopsy results of the late head of state even after 11 years.

The Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem legislator, who is also a sibling to the late Prof Atta-Mills, expressed bewilderment at the heightened concern of these individuals, stating that, according to his assertion, the report is already a part of the public records.

He explained that the family had been handed the autopsy result adding that if the aforementioned individuals were concerned about the late President’s result they must perform due diligence.

“Go to the AMA, they have a copy of the autopsy report. They gave us the burial certificate. Go to the 37 military hospital, there is a copy of the autopsy report over there. Those who performed the autopsy are still alive. I am not the one to give them a copy of it,” he argued.

Again, the legislator said he did not share family ties with the said individual requesting for Professor Mills affectionately called Asomdwe Hene’s autopsy result.

Koku Anyidoho was most powerful during President Mills’ time – Mustapha Gbande

The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has highlighted the significant influence wielded by the former presidential spokesman, Koku Anyidoho, during the administration of the late former president, John Evans Atta Mills.

Mr Gbande acknowledged Anyidoho’s past prominence as one of the most powerful appointees, noting that his words carried considerable weight and authority, leaving little room for dissent.

Despite recognizing Anyidoho’s historical significance, he advised him against targeting current NDC National Chairman, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, with criticism. In an interview on Neat FM on December 22, 2023, Gbande suggested that Anyidoho’s recent critiques seemed driven by lingering resentment.

While expressing a spiritual aversion to insulting individuals who have held positions similar to his own, Gbande acknowledged the challenges faced by Anyidoho and emphasized the transient nature of power dynamics.

He affirmed that the current era belongs to General Aseidu Nketiah, asserting that distractions from individuals like Koku Anyidoho would not sway the party’s focus.

“Spiritually, I don’t insult people who have been where I am before, but I do know that life has not been fair to my brother (Koku Anyidoho) …Koku Anyidoho’s insults to my national chairman are from long-standing bitterness.

Koku Anyidoho was one of the most powerful appointees under President Mills. At the time, if Koku Anyidoho shouted, nobody could talk.

“Everybody’s time would come to pass, and this is General Aseidu Nketiah’s time. He will enjoy it to the glory of God, and people like Koku Anyidoho cannot distract us,” he said.

I still pay my dues to NDC despite being expelled – Koku Anyidoho

Despite being expelled from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho insists that he remains an active card-bearing member of the party.

In an interview on Neat FM on December 22, 2023, Anyidoho revealed that he continues to participate in party activities at both his hometown branch and in the Greater Accra region.

When questioned about his current status with the party, Anyidoho asserted, “I am a member of the NDC and a Ghanaian as well, so if anything is going wrong with the party, I will say it.” He challenged the authority of Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman, questioning Nketiah’s history with the party and asserting his right to express opinions.

Addressing the issue of party dues, Anyidoho admitted to rarely paying them but emphasized his financial contributions to the party. “I barely pay the dues…but indeed, I do pay to the party,” he stated.

He also disclosed having a new membership card and affirmed his continuous involvement in his constituency, questioning whether Nketiah had the authority to have him arrested.

On February 9, 2021, the NDC announced the suspension of Koku Anyidoho. After a five-month investigation, the party found him guilty of misconduct and anti-party behavior, citing violations of the party’s constitution.

The decision to expel him was officially communicated through a statement dated July 27, 2021, signed by the General Secretary at the time, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

The statement made it clear that Anyidoho was no longer recognized as a member of the National Democratic Congress.

“We are walking into a crucial election in 2024, where is the white paper?” – Atta Mills Institute demands

A former Director of Communication at the Office of the President, Koku Anyidoho, has accused the government of neglecting the work done by the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC), which was established by the late President John Evans Atta Mills in 2010.

Anyidoho, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, a policy think tank, said the government had failed to implement the recommendations of the CRC, which were aimed at improving Ghana’s governance system and addressing the challenges facing the 1992 constitution.

Anyidoho made these allegations in a video he posted on Twitter, where he said the CRC, which was chaired by Professor K. Fiajor and had other eminent persons as members, submitted its report and a draft bill for possible amendments to the constitution in 2011. The report was based on extensive consultations with Ghanaians from all walks of life who expressed their views and concerns about the constitution. The report also included a white paper, which was issued by the late President Atta Mills before his death in 2012, outlining the government’s position on the recommendations.

However, Anyidoho said the white paper and the draft bill had been ignored by successive governments and that no action had been taken to implement the recommendations of the CRC. Anyidoho said this was a waste of public funds and a betrayal of the trust and expectations of Ghanaians who had participated in the constitutional review process.

Anyidoho also expressed shock and dismay at the claims by some prominent personalities, including the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, that they were unaware of the existence of the CRC and its work. Anyidoho expressed concern about this posture, as some of these people were key members of the Mills administration and should have been familiar with the CRC and its outcomes.

Determined to revive the constitutional review issue, Anyidoho pledged to hold the government accountable for implementation of the recommendations. Anyidoho said he would invoke the Right to Information Act and demand answers from the government about the whereabouts of the white paper and the draft bill. Anyidoho also said he would mobilise public opinion and pressure the major political parties to speak to the issue of the constitutional review and to commit to implementing the recommendations before the 2024 elections.

He emphasised the visionary nature of the late President Atta Mills, who foresaw the need for constitutional reform. Anyidoho said some of the recommendations of the CRC included limiting the powers of the President, reviewing the emoluments of Article 71 office holders, ensuring the independence and accountability of public institutions, and enhancing the participation and representation of the people in the democratic process.

According to Anyidoho, implementing these recommendations would improve the quality of governance and democracy in Ghana and would honour the legacy of the late President Atta Mills, who was the first sitting president of the Fourth Republic to die in office.

Mahama is also a religious harlot – Koku Anyidoho says after posting video of Mahama reciting Muslim prayers

Former Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has labelled former President John Dramani Mahama a “religious harlot” for his close ties with the Muslim community despite being a Christian.

He made this statement after digging up a video of former President John Mahama reciting Islamic prayers with Muslims in April 2022.

Mr Anyidoho did so to address a recent issue of “religious tolerance” ahead of the country’s next polls.

Discussions about the 2024 elections have primarily revolved around Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and former president and 2024 flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Amidst this, Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel Nartey George, has labeled the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as “a religious prostitute” due to his closeness with the Christian community despite being a Muslim.

This comment has faced condemnation, particularly from those in government, who argue that such statements risk breaking religious unity and tolerance in the country.

Wading into the conversation, Mr Anyidoho in a post on X on November 17, noted that Mr. Mahama is also complicit in the allegations levelled against Dr Bawumia by Mr Nartey George as history recounts him reciting Muslim prayers despite being a Christian.

“When you are a Leader and fail to rebuke the ill-bred children in your midst, you end up carrying the stench of the feces. Per what Sam George said about Veep Bawumia, then John Mahama too is a religious harlot for being a supposed Christian & reciting Muslim prayers,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, former United Nations Envoy to West Africa and the Sahel Region, Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, has advised Ghanaians to exercise caution regarding divisive religious and ethnic sentiments ahead of the 2024 general election.

Speaking at the “Empowering Citizens and Enriching Nation-Building” forum organized by Star Ghana at the British Council in Accra on Friday, November 10, Dr. Chambas stressed that the selection of the country’s leaders should go beyond religious and ethnic considerations. He emphasized that citizens should evaluate political parties based on their messages, policy suggestions, and strategies for managing the nation’s affairs.

He stated, “The commitment to the betterment of our country is a collective responsibility and must transcend political, religious, and ethnic boundaries. Unfortunately, we are seeing some divisive tendencies in our society, and we must all be careful about them, especially when we have elections in 2024. When it comes to election year, all our demons come out.”

Dr. Chambas encouraged both citizens and political parties to prioritize issue-based campaigning for the upcoming 2024 general election.

“So please let us focus on messages when we are choosing our leaders in this country,” he emphasized.

Koku Anyidoho bags Masters degree from Trinity Theological Seminary

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Founder and CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute (AMI), Samuel Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho, participated in a vibrant Graduation Ceremony at the esteemed Trinity Theological Seminary (TTS) in Legon.

The ceremony, attended by a large and enthusiastic audience, marked his successful completion of the Master of Arts in Ministry (MAM) Program, a decision driven by a profound calling to serve in the Lord’s Vineyard.

Koku Anyidoho, a distinguished politician known for his integrity, responded to this longstanding divine calling and embarked on the MAM Program, aligning his path with the principles of the Kingdom.

In doing so, he follows in the footsteps of great leaders like Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his political mentor, President John Evans Atta-Mills.

Drawing parallels with Nkrumah, whose visionary leadership was intertwined with his Theology degree from the Lincoln University Theological Seminary, and Atta-Mills, who openly expressed his strong faith in God by establishing a National Day for Prayer and Thanksgiving, Koku Anyidoho now integrates Kingdom Principles into his political and nation-building approach.

Despite his established credentials as a Politician, Writer, Communications Expert, and Accredited Member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, among other accomplishments, Koku Anyidoho sees his journey into Theology as an undeniable calling—one he cannot refuse, having heard the voice of God. This marks a significant and illuminating phase in his continued commitment to politics and nation building.

“My parents through divine inspiration named me Samuel, and just like the boy Samuel in the Temple in Shiloh, I have heard the voice of God and asked Him to speak for His servant haereth.”

According to Apostle/Prophet Koku Anyidoho, “If the Founding Fathers of this dear nation of ours were divinely inspired to situate the God-factor firmly in two key symbols of the nation – our National Anthem and National Pledge; “God bless our Homeland Ghana …” and “ … So help me God”, then it stands to reason that we cannot live above our current circumstances if we do not apply divine wisdom and allow our thoughts to be guided by God.”

Koku added, “It does not mean we shall sit and wait for manna to fall from heaven; far from that. What it means is, we shall allow Righteousness and Justice to be the Foundation of our forward march because our National Motto is, Freedom and Justice.”

The Guest of Honour for the event was Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, an esteemed Islamic Scholar and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority. The Guest Speaker for the occasion was Mustapha Hamid.

It’s noteworthy that the Trinity Theological Seminary celebrated its 80th anniversary last year, and the Graduation Ceremony held last Saturday marked its 78th year.

Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, an Islamic scholar, and the current CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), served as the Guest of Honour. During the ceremony, he urged the graduating students to be mindful of Religious Pluralism as they embark on their mission to preach the Gospel of Christ and salvation.

According to Mustapha Hamid, “Salvation is more about living a Christ-like life than being a Christian”.

Bawumia is a unifying leader for visiting Ken Agyapong – Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has lauded Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his visit to Kennedy Agyapong following the presidential primary.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute viewed the Vice President’s action as a demonstration of unifying leadership, signifying an inclusive and open-hearted approach.

After his recent election as the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia made an unexpected visit to Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central MP, who secured second place in the primary. The meeting, conducted over dinner on Wednesday, aimed to rekindle the camaraderie between the two politicians.

Dr. Bawumia plans to visit other aspirants who participated in the primary, striving to mend relationships and foster unity.

Commending the Vice President’s actions, Koku Anyidoho drew parallels between this gesture and similar efforts he witnessed under the late former presidents Rawlings and Atta Mills within the NDC. He noted their endeavors to bring about harmony and unity, a contrast he suggested is lacking in the current NDC.

“Great move by Dr. Bawumia. Exhibiting signs of a great & unifying Leader with a BIG ACCOMMODATING heart. Great Leaders refuse to be petty and like the eagle ????, they glide with stormy winds.

“Ayekoo to DMB????????????????I saw Rawlings and President Atta-Mills employ the same unifying approach to leading the NDC at it worked well in bringing harmony behind the NDC for a collective common good.

“Unfortunately, John Mahama and Asiedu-Nketiah do not have such qualities and are busy destroying the NDC with their unacceptable extremely divisive and corrosive leadership styles,” parts of his post read.

Discuss important people on important programs like this – Asiedu Nketiah refutes Anyidoho’s anti-Mahama claims

National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, chose not to provide any comments on his relationship with his former deputy, Samuel Koku Anyidoho.

When responding to questions from listeners on Starr Chat, hosted by Bola Ray on Thursday, October 19, 2023, the NDC chairman stated that the matter of his relationship with the former deputy general secretary was not relevant to the occasion.

“Why should my relationship with a particular individual matter in such a program? Don’t allow people to drag an important program into something else. I won’t get into such questions,” Asiedu Nketiah retorted when the host queried further with the question.

The question sought to find out Asiedu Nketiah’s relationship with Koku and the recent allegation by the former deputy secretary that the chairman haboured animosity towards the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama and had an agenda to see the failure of his bid in the 2024 elections.

“I don’t think that this type of question qualifies to be answered on such an important program so let’s leave it,” he stated.

In a recent series of tweets posted on a popular social media platform, Anyidoho made allegations against Asiedu Nketiah, who is widely known as General Mosquito.

Anyidoho claimed that Asiedu Nketiah has made a commitment to obstruct former President John Dramani Mahama from reclaiming the presidency.

He accused Asiedu Nketiah of harbouring a deep-seated animosity towards Mahama, which, according to him, poses a threat to the party’s unity and its electoral aspirations.

Koku suggested that the origin of this controversy dates back to when John Dramani Mahama, during his presidency, allegedly attempted to remove Asiedu Nketiah from his position in 2014.

As a result of this failed attempt, Nketiah has supposedly harboured intentions to prevent Mahama’s return to the presidency ever since.

“Mosquito’s disguised, deep hatred for John Mahama has destroyed the NDC. JM tried to oust Mosquito in 2014, and Mosquito has vowed to make sure JM never becomes president again. I heard Mosquito myself vow to ensure JM never becomes president again, and I dare him to challenge me,” he added in another tweet.

This isn’t the initial instance in which Koku Anyidoho has taken aim at Asiedu Nketiah.

Anyidoho has previously accused him of acting in a deceitful manner.

This accusation arose when Nketiah had assured Anyidoho that he would vacate the general secretary position but subsequently opted to run for the same position once more during the party’s internal elections in 2018.

In 2018, Anyidoho contested against Asiedu Nketiah for the NDC’s general secretary position but was defeated by his former superior, who retained the role.

Former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has alleged that the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, widely known as General Mosquito, is determined to thwart any chances of former President John Dramani Mahama returning to the presidency.

Mr Anyidoho expressed these claims on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He accused Asiedu Nketiah of holding grudges against Mahama, which, he believes, could be detrimental to the unity and aspirations of the party.

Mr Anyidoho further asserted that this discord originates from past allegations that, during his presidency, John Dramani Mahama made an attempt to oust Asiedu Nketiah from his role in 2014.

Following the failure of this attempt, Mr Nketiah has reportedly harbored intentions to impede Mahama’s presidential comeback ever since.

In a series of tweets, Anyidoho wrote, “Mosquito’s disguised deep hatred for John Mahama has destroyed the NDC. JM tried to oust Mosquito in 2014, and Mosquito has vowed to make sure JM never becomes president again. I heard Mosquito myself vow to ensure JM never becomes president again, and I dare him to challenge me.”

Additionally, Anyidoho voiced his own commitment to his former party and its principles, despite the ongoing alleged internal strife.

He tweeted, “John Mahama & Asiedu-Nketiah want to kick me out of the NDC, but I remain loyal to my Calling. The days of John Mahama & Asiedu-Nketiah shall soon pass, and we shall restore the NDC to its past glory. Aluta continua.”

Samuel Atta Mills doesn’t care about his late brother Prof Atta Mills – Anyidoho

Embattled member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho has accused the brother of the late former President John Evans Atta-Mills of disrespecting the wishes of his deceased brother.

In an interview on Kingdom FM, the Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute alleged that Mr Sammy Atta-Mills, the Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) was directed by the late president to publish a thesis he had written.

The thesis said to have been written in the 1970s hovers around taxation.

According to Mr Koku Anyidoho, for years, Mr Sammy Atta-Mills has held on to the thesis without making an effort to have it published.

“You Sammy Atta Mills, you are the same person who said that before your brother passed on, he left something with you, his PhD thesis he wrote in the 70s… He gave the only copy of the thesis to his friend who returned it just in 2012.

“He (Prof Mills) told you (Sammy Atta Mills) that all the knowledge he has acquired in taxation was in that thesis and begged you to publish it into a book for the world to have access to it.

“Up to today that book has not been published. It is with Sammy Atta Mills,” he is quoted to have said by Ghanaweb.

For Mr Anyidoho, this indicates that Mr Sammy Atta-Mills does not have the legacy of the late Evans Atta-Mills at heart.

“You don’t care about your brother; you don’t care about his legacy,” Anyidoho added.

The former deputy General Secretary of the NDC made the comments on Monday, July 24, 2023, which marked 11th anniversary of the death of Prof Mills.

A wreath-laying event was held at the Asomdwee Park, the resting place of the late former president to honour his memory.

Anyidoho applauds President Akufo-Addo for revitalising Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

Founder of Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, has extended appreciation to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his administration for the revitalization of Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

Following his tour of the park, Mr Anyidoho expressed his deep satisfaction, stating, “I must say, I am thoroughly impressed.”

“After 25 years of existence of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the facility had not seen any meaningful facelift, at which point the fountains, which are major attractions, were not functioning well thus affecting visitations.

Moreover, the roof of the museum leaked each time it rained making it difficult to conduct visitors around. The situation was not different at the VIP lounge, where most VIP guests of the State signed the visitor’s books after their tour.

Additionally, the main corridor to the washrooms and some parts of the washrooms were in a deplorable state.

Mr Anyidoho in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) noted that when he was championing the reconstruction of the Asomdwe Park, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum was not something to write home about, adding that “one of the energy I got for the reconstruction of the Asomdwe Park was that I was seeing the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum just deteriorate.”

He said it was a good start in terms of honouring and remembering our heroes, saying there was a lot that had been done and a lot could also be done.

“I have been here for an hour and after touring the place, I can say that we can all remember Dr Kwame Nkrumah in this exciting manner,” he added.

Talking about the maintenance of the facility, Mr Anyidoho appealed to the public to make good use of the Park and maintain it for the next generation “to come and see the legacies, achievements and the life of the first President of Ghana.”

He congratulated President Akufo-Addo and his administration for the redevelopment of the park, saying that it would not only honour Dr Kwame Nkrumah but would also promote domestic tourism.

“Look at the reconstruction of the Atta Mills Presidential Library at Cape Coast and now the new Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, this will be one of the legacies of the current government in protecting the legacies of former presidents,” he added.

  • Koku Anyidoho shares his perspective on how Atta Mills died on the occasion of his 11th anniversary

Koku Anyidoho shares his perspective on how Atta Mills died on the occasion of his 11th anniversary

Former presidential spokesperson, Koku Anyidoho, has addressed the circumstances surrounding the death of John Evans Atta Mills in July 2012.

The late president passed away at the 37 Military Hospital after being rushed there from the Castle, the seat of presidency at the time.

Anyidoho, who was perceived as a ‘powerful’ aide to the former president, had faced numerous accusations of personally taking custody of the ailing president and transporting him to the hospital.

While he had refuted these claims in previous interviews, on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Mills’ death, he has penned his side of the story, intending to put an end to all other allegations.

    Facts.

Koku Anyidoho DID NOT drive the President to the 37 Military Hospital.

The President was transported in a designated ambulance by well-known medical personnel.

The Maternity Ward did not receive the President.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was the President’s immediate destination.

His piece published on Rainbow Radio’s website continued: “As regards the ICU, and as fate would have it, President Atta-Mills, as part of his “Surprise Visits” to selected State Institutions, visited the 37 Military Hospital, and the ICU in particular was one of the facilities that he entered, to walk through upgrading that had taken place.

“He was also shown around (certainly not inside) the rebuilt mortuary. So, he died at the ICU and was sent to the morgue – life has a way of throwing at us, the fleeting nature of our existence.

“Do I know what killed President Atta-Mills? NO! No autopsy report has been made public so the nation still does not know what killed our beloved President.

“Fact is, he is gone and shall never come back in flesh. All I can do, is to help keep his memory alive – and I shall do so no matter the evil and wicked nonsensical noises that the pretenders make in their obtuse world.”

FULL TEXT: 11 Years On: Did I Drive President Atta-Mills To 37 Military Hospital? Koku Anyidoho writes

Some people, for diverse reasons, invested time and energy in announcing the death of President John Evans Atta-Mills (as if the death would prolong their lifespan) several times before that fateful, Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

Many weird stories flew cluelessly, about how the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Ghana was moved from the Castle to the 37 Military Hospital.

One of the weirdest of the weirdest, had it that, Koku Anyidoho drove the President in the boot of his official Ford vehicle, to the 37 Military Hospital. Hmm!

As part of attempts to create the extremely fake impression that I had absolute control at the Castle, this falsehood about me carrying the President to the 37 Military Hospital, was bandied around.

Over the years, I have tried in many ways to tell the true story. This year, I decided to tell the true story in print because of a question a highly respected personality in Ghana asked me during a casual conversation.

    The conversation went thus:

“So how is the Atta-Mills Institute doing?”

“By the kind grace of God, we are marching on gradually”.

“… So, is it true you carried the President in the boot of your vehicle to 37? And is it true that he was sent to the maternity ward?”

“It is not true I drove the President to 37 and it is not true he was sent to the maternity ward”.

“Are you sure about what you are saying? Because it was/is all over the place that you drove him and you took him to the maternity ward. Honestly, if I had not met you today to have this conversation with you, that’s what I have believed all these years …”. Phew!

It was this conversation that occasioned this piece in memory of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills.

    Facts.

The President was NOT driven to the 37 Military Hospital by Koku Anyidoho.

The President was driven in an assigned ambulance with known medics.

The President was not sent to the Maternity Ward.

The President was driven straight to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As regards the ICU, and as fate would have it, President Atta-Mills, as part of his “Surprise Visits” to selected State Institutions, visited the 37 Military Hospital, and the ICU in particular was one of the facilities that he entered, to walk through upgrading that had taken place.

He was also shown around (certainly not inside) the rebuilt mortuary. So, he died at the ICU and was sent to the morgue – life has a way of throwing at us, the fleeting nature of our existence.

Do I know what killed President Atta-Mills? NO! No autopsy report has been made public so the nation still does not know what killed our beloved President.

Fact is, he is gone and shall never come back in flesh. All I can do, is to help keep his memory alive – and I shall do so no matter the evil and wicked nonsensical noises that the pretenders make in their obtuse world.

A year ago, thanks to the goodness of His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a hitherto embarrassing specter called Asomdwe Park, was rebuilt and commissioned.

This year, the Government has also taken over the Atta-Mills Memorial Library in Cape Coast, and the Atta-Mills Institute (AMI) is grateful to God and Country for this move.

Now that Government has taken over the library, it will be our duty to look into how funds raised in the name of the library was not accounted for by the Chairman of the Funeral Planning Committee.

I was a member of the Funeral Planning Committee, and I shall clear my family name from any rot that has taken place in the name of the Library.

Did I ever want to own Asomdwe Park? Extremely ridiculous!

How can one person own such a state monument?

Atta-Mills Institute (AMI) is humbled that we were able to point Government in the direction of the need to give the former President a befitting resting place.

The management of the Asomdwe Park is in the capable hands of the State. If the help of AMI is needed in any way, we shall not hesitate to help.

AMI was NOT setup to manage state monuments; we are setup as a Public Policy and Advocacy Think-Tank – we advocated for Asomdwe Park and we thank God we did.

At least, the world knows that Koku Anydoho did not exhume any dead body; all we did, was help exhume the heavy disgrace that was sitting on the face of the nation when Asomdwe Park was an eyesore.

The monument of President Atta-Mills that sits in my heart (which no one can take away from me), is more illuminating than any physical one.

President John Evans Atta-Mills, sir, continue to rest well knowing that the covenant between us shall always stand and I am holding on firmly to what you gave me to the glory of God and country.

Sir, I shall do whatever I can do humanly possible to keep your legacy alive and I know the genuineness of my heart will see me through the challenges.

With Christ in the vessel, I shall certainly smile at all the storms.

President John Evans Atta-Mills, please pray for me sir, for I need it!
