Elon Musk suggests cybertruck blowing up near Trump hotel an act of terrorism

A Tesla Cybertruck caught fire and exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, resulting in the death of the driver and injuring seven others with minor wounds.

The explosion occurred near the hotel’s glass doors, causing panic as the electric vehicle suddenly burst into flames.

The driver, who was the only person in the truck at the time, tragically lost their life in the blast.

Video footage captured the shocking moment when the stainless steel Tesla Cybertruck, parked at the valet area, suddenly erupted in flames.

The fire was followed by several smaller explosions, resembling fireworks. The blast severely damaged the truck and triggered alarms across the area.

    Musk suggests terror link

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, quickly responded to the explosion, speculating that it may have been a targeted attack. He drew a connection to a similar incident in New Orleans where a Ford F-150 had been rigged with explosives.

Musk noted that both vehicles were rented through the Turo car-sharing service, suggesting there might be a link between these two events.

Elon Musk clarified in his social media posts that the Tesla Cybertruck was not the cause of the explosion near the Trump International Hotel.

He stated that the vehicle’s telemetry showed everything was functioning normally at the time of the incident, eliminating any mechanical failure as a reason.

Instead, Musk suggested that the explosion might have been caused by fireworks or a bomb placed in the truck’s bed.

The incident has sparked debates about safety and the broader implications for high-profile locations like the Trump Hotel.

Tesla fans have rallied behind Musk’s assertion that the Cybertruck was not the cause of the explosion, but the event has raised questions about the risks associated with using shared vehicles for malicious purposes.

As the investigation continues, the bizarre and unsettling nature of this explosion has left many wondering about the motives behind it and whether it signals a troubling new trend.

For now, authorities are keeping tight-lipped, promising updates as they unfold.

Adele to take a break from music

Adele‘s Las Vegas residency is approaching its 100th and final show in November, after which she plans to take an extended break from music.

She expressed feeling emotionally drained from the experience, despite the manageable crowd size at Caesar’s Palace.

Adele admitted to feeling easily angered, citing a recent incident at a show where she confronted an audience member for a disrespectful comment.

Reflecting on her career, she mentioned missing the anonymity of pre-fame life and expressed a desire to explore other creative pursuits during her hiatus from music.

“My tank is quite empty at the minute,” the star told German broadcaster ZDF ahead of a 10-date residency in Munich.
“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she said.

“I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while.

“You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?”

‘Catastrophic floods,’ a threat from Hurricane Hilary for Mexico, California

On Friday, a U.S. government agency reported that Category 4 Hurricane Hilary was barreling towards Mexico’s Baja California peninsula as it issued its first-ever tropical storm watch for California and warned of potentially fatal and catastrophic flooding.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) predicts that the strong storm will pass over Mexico’s well-known vacation city of Cabo San Lucas by late on Friday. It should then diminish before making landfall on the U.S. West Coast this weekend, but it will still bring severe rains.

“Life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flooding are likely over much of Baja California and Southern California this weekend and early next week,” the Miami-based agency said in its latest advisory.

Spanning two states, Mexico’s Baja California peninsula is divided into a northernmost region where non-essential public activities were suspended from Friday to Monday, including school classes. In Mexico’s second-largest city, Tijuana, officials advised residents in high-risk areas to seek refuge in temporary shelters.

Meanwhile, in the southern state of the peninsula, local authorities postponed a baseball match and announced the closure of ports until late Friday. The state’s governor emphasized the importance of preparedness, urging residents to secure water and essential supplies at home, while discouraging panic buying.

Jamie Rhome, Deputy Director of the NHC, issued warnings about the potential for flooding from San Diego to Los Angeles and even extending to Las Vegas, with notably elevated risks centered around the Palm Springs area.

  • Tupac Shakur’s ruby ring to be auctioned at $1M

Tupac Shakur’s ruby ring to be auctioned at $1M

A jewel-encrusted ring worn by rapper Tupac Shakur just days before his tragic murder at the age of 25 will soon be up for auction, with a potential selling price of nearly $300,000 (£230,000).

The impressive sovereign ring, designed by Tupac himself, features gold, ruby, and diamond, and will be part of Sotheby’s auction commemorating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

Tupac’s final public appearance took place three days before his untimely death, during which he showcased this remarkable piece of jewelry at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards. The ring symbolized a new chapter in his life, marking his transition from the “Thug Life” persona after his release from prison.

The medallion and the 14-carat gold crown ring were commissioned by Tupac following his time in prison when he established the media conglomerate Euphanasia Incorporated.

The crown ring is described by Tupac’s godmother, Yaasmyn Fula, who is selling the item, as a “powerful” symbol of responsibility, representing his commitment to expressing justice and love through his creativity.

In September 1996, shortly after attending a boxing match, Tupac was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas while riding as a passenger in a BMW driven by Marion “Suge” Knight.

The murder has remained surrounded by mystery and recently prompted police to conduct a search warrant in Henderson, Nevada, related to the ongoing investigation.

The auction of Tupac’s ring set a new record for the most valuable hip-hop artifact ever sold, exceeding the pre-sale estimate.

The design of the ring was influenced by Niccolo Machiavelli’s political manifesto “The Prince,” a book that Tupac read during his time in prison. The ring also bears the engravings “Pac & Dada 1996,” with “Dada” referring to his girlfriend, Kidada Jones.

Lomachenko, 35, was considered one of the world’s best fighters before he suffered a shock points loss to Teofimo Lopez in Sin City in 2020.

But the southpaw rebounded with a ruthless stoppage of Masayoshi Nakatani and then added two points victories over Richard Commey and Jamaine Ortiz.

He said: “My goal is to become the undisputed lightweight champion and Haney is the man with the belts. I respect him and am excited for this challenge.”

  • David Blaine recalls magic trick fail that left him with stab wound

David Blaine recalls magic trick fail that left him with stab wound

David Blaine refused to let a stab wound hinder his live show.

The 49-year-old magician mistakenly injured himself while performing his famous ice pick trick in Las Vegas. The stunt is relatively straight-forward: Blaine calls on two audience members to analyze a row of three styrofoam cups and guess which one of them has an ice pick hidden underneath. Once the selection is made, Blaine places his hands over the two other cups and smashes them; however, this time around, the audience members picked the wrong cup, causing Blaine to stab his own hand.

Blaine told People magazine he had performed the trick “one thousand times” without sustaining any injuries. But he ignored his gut instincts during this specific show, as he didn’t want to cause any delays.

“I felt like this was the one,” he told the outlet. “I wanted to keep it exciting, so I just figured I’ll go for it even though I didn’t feel it was right.”

He continued: “The show must go on, so I just cleaned up the blood and started again a minute later.”

Blaine has performed variations of the ice pick trick throughout his career, but admitted it was never his favorite.

“I wasn’t a big fan of the trick until now,” he said, suggesting the recent mishap made the stunt more exciting.

Blaine is expected to perform the trick this weekend, when his show returns to Resorts World Theater in Vegas. His residency kicked off back in September and will conclude on March 11. The show is packed with jaw-dropping illusions and death-defying feats, including a nine-story jump from the top of the venue.

“It’s intimate,” Blaine said about the show. “It’ll be interactive and I’ll be able to do things with the audience and bring them up … And then there’s the stunt element of it where I can bring all the crazy things I’ve spent most of my adult life and magic thinking about and put them all in this room.”

You can learn more about Blaine’s residency at the Resorts World Theatre website.

She received a standing ovation when she walked on stage at Caesars Palace on Friday, and described the show as “just perfect”.

The set on the Colosseum stage “looked just like I imagined”.

In an emotional speech, the 34-year-old singer opened the show by telling fans she should be giving them a standing ovation, a she said she “might be a bit wobbly at times”.

Some in the audience had waited 11 months to see the artist after the five-month run of shows, that should have started in January, were postponed at a day’s notice because of a Covid outbreak among production staff and delays in finishing the set.

The singer had announced the postponement on Instagram, telling fans in a tearful message the show was “not ready”.

At the concert on Friday, she said: “My nerves are out of control” as she joked that it was a massive week for her with the Walking Dead finale on Sunday.

“There were a great deal of nerves and trepidation in that room tonight, especially from Adele when she came out – and she delivered.

“She was impressive, and gave a warm and complete performance. I don’t think she could have asked for any more than what she delivered tonight.”

  • You are setting a bad precedent – Azumah Nelson tells WBC over title strip

2004 Boxing of Hall Fame inductee and WBC’s Greatest Super featherweight Champion of All-Time Azumah Nelson has observed with concern, reactions online regarding WBC’s decision to reverse the results of his first fight against Australian Jeff Fenech in Las Vegas on June 28th, 1991.

The draw decision by the judges was argued by Jeff Fenech and his team which led to Azumah granting him a rematch in his homeland in 1992.

Azumah didn’t leave any doubts in the minds of boxing fans after the humiliation he handed Jeff Fenech before his fellow countrymen.

There are images of Jeff Fenech being handed a four (4th) belt by the WBC at the recent convention explaining that a new panel of judges reviewed the fight and concluded that Jeff Fenech won the fight.

While the decision doesn’t bother Azumah Nelson, he is however worried about the dangerous path the WBC is treading.

Azumah reacting to the news said, “Reviewing results and awarding titles to boxers many decades after a fight is a dangerous precedent. This is happening for the first time in professional boxing and they decided to start with me. I am not worried about the decision as it doesn’t change my legacy in boxing history; neither will it change anything going forward. If this will help Jeff Fenech to sleep well at night, I am happy for him.”

Azumah added, “I rather find it a bit disturbing for the WBC as this will open the doors for many boxers to petition them over fights they disagreed with judges’ decisions many years ago. The WBC doesn’t need that pressure as this doesn’t add any value to our beloved sport. This has the proclivity to create credibility issues for the sport if not managed properly. If the WBC wants to introduce a review panel or Video Assistant Referee (VAR) as done in football, I would think they will start with the current generation who will then have the opportunity to fight again or belt returned to the right winner and to be contested for. This decision by the WBC means I went to Australia in 1992 as a challenger and not the Champion going to defend his title. This is very interesting”.

Azumah Nelson appreciates all who called and took to social media to express their disappointment over the decision by the WBC. Please be assured that Azumah is not least bothered about the development and he wishes all the very best.

God Bless You All and our Homeland Ghana.

    End…….

  • Bloodied Fury beats Wallin on points in dramatic Las Vegas bout

Tyson Fury battled to a rugged points win over Otto Wallin as he fought for over nine rounds with heavy cuts to maintain his unbeaten record in a dramatic bout in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old Briton, a 1-25 favourite with bookmakers, was expected to walk through Sweden’s Wallin but a deep wound above his right eye was repeatedly checked by the ringside doctor, prompting moments of stunned silence at the T-Mobile Arena.

It was a punch in the third round that drew blood above the eye and Fury displayed greater urgency when officials began to show concern, switching from patient boxing to planting his feet in a bid to land heavy, destructive shots.

A barrage in the ninth forced Wallin to sway, before a hard right hand piled him into the ropes in the 11th as Fury came through the type of examination few expected with a unanimous 116-112 117-111 118-110 points win.

Fury was taken to hospital after the fight, with promoter Frank Warren confirming he was set to have micro-surgery on the cuts – one above the eye and one on the eye-lid.

“It was a great fight,” said Fury afterwards. “I got caught on the eye and that changed the fight. For the majority, I could not see out of the eye, then there was a clash of heads and I got cut again.

“It was a good 12 rounds, he was tough. It’s all heart and determination – if I can keep going I will do. He was 20-0 and didn’t know how to lose, but I was the better man.”

Wallin said: “I did everything I could, I tried my best and Tyson is a great champion. Nobody can question my heart or question that I’m a good fighter.”
