Lydia Alhassan and Ophelia Hayford didn’t make noise after their husbands deaths – Capt Smart jabs Lilian Kumah

Renowned media personality Captain Smart has taken a subtle jab at Apostle Lilian Kumah, the widow of deputy finance minister, John Kumah.

The Onua TV presenter has advised her to take lessons from the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman constituency, Ophelia Hayford.

Lydia Seyram Alhassan and Ophelia Hayford’s political journey commenced under tragic circumstances following the untimely deaths of their husbands, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko and Ekow Quansah Hayford, respectively.

According to Captain Smart, widows Lydia Alhassan and Ophelia Hayford refrained from seeking public attention or exposing themselves to the public eye.

“Can you see how widows Lydia Alhassan and Ophelia are mourning their husbands? Have you seen them in public making noise? Did you ever see them talk about the deaths of their husbands? They have kept themselves as descent, well-cultured, and trained women. Learn from them,” he added.

The ongoing rift between Captain Smart and Apostle Lilian Kumah was initiated by Captain Smart’s allegations that John Kumah was deliberately poisoned due to his political ambitions, which he claimed posed a threat to certain party leaders.

In response, the widow refuted the claims and lodged a complaint with the police, demanding evidence from Captain Smart to support his allegations.

Reacting to the arrest complaint, Captain Smart emphasised that this challenging period is a time for the widow to isolate herself and mourn her husband, rather than engaging in lengthy discussions to attract attention.

John Kumah passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Per reports he collapsed in his office and was promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention.

Subsequently, due to a deterioration in his condition, he was flown out of the country.

In a recent development surrounding the death of Deputy Finance Minister and Ejisu MP, John Kumah, broadcast journalist Blessed Godsbrain Smart, known as Captain Smart, has publicly criticized Apostle Lilian Kumah, the late minister’s wife, questioning her credibility as a religious leader.

Captain Smart, who works with Onua TV and FM, accused Apostle Lilian Kumah of being insincere and deceptive.

He advised her to remain silent and focus on mourning her husband rather than making misleading statements.

In a video circulating online, he said, “Dear woman, please keep mute and bury your husband. It is not nice. When I called certain people I realized that you don’t speak the truth. You are a fake Apostle. The person who gave you that title has done a disservice to Ghana.

In response to claims made by Apostle Lilian Kumah that her husband did not die from food poisoning but rather from a terminal illness he had been battling for over a year, Captain Smart expressed skepticism.

He questioned the timing of the illness in relation to the couple’s marriage, suggesting that there may be discrepancies in her account.

Apostle Lilian Kumah clarified during an interview on Asaase radio that her late husband had been diagnosed with a terminal illness by doctors in Germany almost a year ago, refuting claims of food poisoning as the cause of his death.

The controversy surrounding John Kumah’s death, announced on March 7, 2024, continues to unfold.

I have never received any form of financial support from John Kumah – Nigel Gaisie replies widow

The founder and leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has refuted allegations of ever being financially supported by the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah.

The accusations surfaced from Prophetess Lilian Kumah, the widow of the deceased politician, who claimed in an interview on Asaase Radio that prophet Gaisie utilized information from her husband’s family for his prophecies, suggesting a close relationship between Mr Gaisie and her late husband.

She also implied that Mr Gaisie had been on her husband’s payroll at some point, although she did not specify in what capacity.

However, Mr Gaisie vehemently denied these claims, asserting that he had never been financially supported by John Kumah since their initial encounter in 2015.

“In her audio, she said I was on John Kumah’s payroll but when they were coming to my church, they didn’t even have money…

“You are a pastor and someone that God has used me to bless before, because of political interest you are able to tell me my wife has left home …before then, she said I was on John Kumah’s payroll, I have never been on John Kumah’s payroll,” Nigel said in an interview on Onua FM on March 12, 2024.

“2016, were they having money all the times I was preaching for her before building a new palace where they have money to put me on payroll, and can she pay me? At that time God raised me, can she put me on the payroll?” he added.

Additionally, Gaisie highlighted that the Kumah family was not financially stable during their early interactions.

He questioned whether they had the financial means to support him, particularly during their initial encounters before they gained financial stability.

Nigel Gaisie reveals what happened between him and “Lily” Kumah at Mövenpick

Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the General Overseer of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, has revealed details of a meeting he had with Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, the wife of the late Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Kumah, at Mövenpick in September of the previous year.

In a live social media broadcast on Monday, March 11, Prophet Nigel Gaisie responded to recent criticisms from Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah regarding comments he made about her late husband.

The death of Dr. Kumah on March 7, 2024, has sparked speculation about the cause, with a prophecy from Prophet Nigel Gaisie being among the viral videos circulating after the incident.

However, in a recorded interview played on Accra-based Asaase Radio on Monday, March 11, 2024, Apostle Kumah expressed her disappointment with Prophet Nigel Gaisie, accusing him of exploiting their personal information for his own gain and to enhance his popularity, despite their close relationship.

“We know him very well and have been aware since November 2023 that the late John Kumah was seriously sick. My husband had a lot of respect for men of God in this country and that included Nigel Gaisie when my husband and I thought he was a genuine man of God,” she explained.

In response to Apostle Kumah’s accusations, Prophet Nigel Gaisie noted that he is no mere stranger to the Kumah family, as he used to pray for Apostle Lilian and for that reason, she used to call him Papa.

He recounted an instance at Mövenpick hotel in Accrra where the Apostle allegedly called him “Man of God” instead of Papa, as she normally does, reportedly.

“I called her Apostle and she called me Man of God. I told her today you are calling me Man of God. You used to call me Papa and I am your Papa. I know I don’t impose Papa on anybody but you’ve never called me Man of God,” he said.

According to him, he was surprised since he anointed her. Prophet Nigel Gaisie noted that it was during their brief encounter at Mövenpick in September that he informed her that he wanted to speak to the late John Kumah since he had a revelation about him.

“Because Man of God is someone you don’t really know but you are somebody who has knelt down before me and I have poured oil on you several times. So I realized that she was trying to be rude with her gestures. She was still on the phone. If Apostle Lilian really has the Holy Ghost and she reads the Bible I read, which is the Bible of Jacob, Isaac she cannot tell me she didn’t meet me at Mövenpick,” he added.

“I told her at Mövenpick that I have a revelation about her husband and so she should let her husband call me or she should tell when I should call. You, that I thought you how to pray, tell me when I should call so that I give the revelation to your husband that was in September, I was going to renew your UK visa.

“Now Lily is telling people that they should ignore the prophesy and that they were my friends and I heard about it,” he noted.

He suggested that Apostle Kumah’s interview was an attempt to discredit his prophetic work, influenced by politicians who are not supportive of his ministry.

Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah has commended her late husband, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, for his fervor in matters of faith, a quality she believes will continue to serve as a source of inspiration and solace for the family.

The widow of the late Deputy Finance Minister expressed these sentiments after Dr. Kumah’s passing last Thursday.

Survived by a wife and six children, the 45-year-old Deputy Finance Minister had a profound impact on the church, even in his final days.

“Among all the things, he left us with God. One thing that he loved doing was about the work of God. Even in his last days, he changed a lot in the church, which cost him a lot, but he insisted that he wants the best for God,” she said.

Reflecting on the family’s coping mechanisms, Mrs. Kumah stated, “It’s not easy for both his mother and father because it’s that baobab tree that we all enjoyed some fresh air under that’s been uprooted,” adding, “his motive was to train me as a strong woman, and he’s accomplished that.”

Addressing concerns about speculation regarding the cause of her husband’s death, Mrs. Kumah urged authorities, including President Akufo-Addo, to investigate the matter.

She revealed that Dr. Kumah had been diagnosed with a blood-related disease in August 2023 during a medical check-up in Germany.

Despite arrangements to transport him to Accra for further medical attention and an onward planned trip to Germany, he passed away at the Suhum Government Hospital in the Eastern Region.

A private legal practitioner and entrepreneur, Dr. Kumah, served as the Managing Partner of Aduaprokye Chambers, a law firm, and was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).

Under his leadership at NEIP, approximately 7,000 start-ups received training in 2018 through the Presidential Business Support program, with about 1,350 beneficiaries obtaining funding support.

He held a Doctorate in Business Innovation from the Swiss Business School, Switzerland, and an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Dr. Kumah also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with Philosophy and Law from the University of Ghana, following his professional Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law in 2013. He was called to the Ghana Bar in 2013.

My husband’s death must be investigated else none of my children will serve Ghana – John Kumah’s wife

Apostle Lilian Kumah, the widow of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, has declared that none of her children will serve Ghana if the controversies surrounding her husband’s death are scrutinized.

Mrs. Kumah strongly asserted that her husband, the Ejisu Member of Parliament (MP), succumbed to a terminal illness diagnosed by his doctors in Germany nearly a year ago, refuting speculations of food poisoning.

Despite her initial stance, she deems it necessary for the allegations to undergo investigation to bring closure to the matter, especially in light of the widespread claims made by broadcaster Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart.

Expressing her disappointment, she questioned the credibility of someone making speculative claims under the guise of journalism, particularly when her husband had dedicated his life to serving the nation. In an interview with Accra-based Asaase radio, she stated, “No child of my womb will serve the country because it is very disappointing.”

Mrs. Kumah urged Captain Smart to substantiate his allegations with evidence for the sake of justice, appealing to the president to intervene.

She requested Captain Smart’s assistance in identifying those responsible for her husband’s death so that they could be apprehended and held accountable under the law.

“No child of my womb will serve the country because it is very disappointing. How can a guy who has dedicated his life to serve the nation, then someone in the name of journalism, cheap propaganda is speculating he has facts, why is the person still there?” she said in an interview with Accra-based Asaase radio.

“I am using this media to talk to the president. I beg him. Captain Smart says he knows who killed my husband. So Captain Smart should help us find who killed my husband so the person will be arrested and face the law,” she appealed.

Your husband and I were not friends – Nigel Gaisie to John Kumah’s wife

The founder and leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has refuted allegations of friendship with the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah, during a Facebook live session on March 11, 2024.

Dismissing claims made by the widow of the deceased Deputy Minister for Finance, prophet Gaisie denied having a friendly relationship with John Kumah, asserting that Kumah was a son rather than a friend.

Addressing Lilian, the widow, prophet Gaisie emphasized that he did not maintain friendships due to his busy schedule, clarifying that Kumah was considered a son to him.

“The point is that the late John Kumah was not my friend; he was a son. I don’t have friends; I am too busy I don’t even know how to keep friends. I am always indoors. So the late John Kumah, a very honourable man, he was not my friend.

“So Lilian get it. You and your husband, you were my daughter, I poured oil on you. You have knelt before me and I have all the pictures, I have all the videos and if you dare say it is not true, I will just allow my media team to blow all these things on the internet,” he stated.

He warned Lilian against challenging his statement, citing photographic and video evidence of their interactions, including moments where she and her husband knelt before him.

After John Kumah’s death on March 7, 2024, videos surfaced of a prophecy issued by prophet Gaisie in December 2023, where he predicted a bright future for a deputy minister of finance facing potential attacks.

While not explicitly naming Kumah, prophet Gaisie later claimed that the prophecy referred to him and acknowledged the impending tragedy.

However, Lilian Kumah accused prophet Gaisie of using privileged information obtained as a close friend in his prophecy, branding him a fraud and false prophet.

“I saw a Deputy Minister of Finance, if he can take care of himself, I see him at the highest height of government, but they want to attack him.

“If he can take care of himself, in the next years, God will help him and I saw him at the seat of government, but they have ganged, they have sat down, they want to crash him, a deputy minister of finance,” he stated without mentioning a name.

During the Facebook live session, prophet Gaisie defended the authenticity of his prophecy, recounting the deterioration of his relationship with the Kumahs over a political prophecy.

In the midst of the controversy, autopsy reports revealed multiple myeloma as the cause of the MP’s death at the age of 45.

According to Lilian, her late husband had been diagnosed with this terminal condition, a fact known to Gaisie since August 2023, when he claimed the prophecy originated.

You can’t discredit me – Prophet Nigel tells John Kumah’s wife

Prophet Nigel Gaisie remains resolute in his claim that he foresaw the tragic event that befell the late Deputy Minister of Finance, John Kumah.

Undeterred by criticism, prophet Gaisie addressed the accusations leveled against him during a Facebook live session on Monday, March 11.

In the video, he dismissed allegations attempting to tarnish his reputation, asserting, “The only thing they can say is that we prophets are womanizers, it is normal if you know we don’t really have time. I am too busy for this thing. It is the agenda of the NPP to destroy prophets. You can’t discredit Prophet Nigel.”

Emphasizing the validity of his prophecy, Gaisie stated, “Indeed I saw it [death],” cautioning the public not to dismiss prophetic messages lightly.

These statements come in response to Apostle Lilian Kumah, the wife of the late John Kumah, who refuted prophet Gaisie’s prophecy.

In an interview with Asaase Radio on Sunday, March 10, she revealed a personal connection between her family and the prophet.

Lilian Kumah argued that Mr Gaisie was well aware of John Kumah’s health condition since November 2023, questioning the authenticity of the prophecy.

“Nigel Gaisie was like a brother. He knows my late husband, lawyer John Kumah personally, one-on-one. We have sat in this house and eaten together several times. That is how far we go. When he came from abroad to start a church in Ghana, he came to my church, Disciples of Christ Ministries and I did a programme with him dubbed “Let the Prophet Speak”.

“We know him very well and have been aware since November 2023 that the late John Kumah was seriously sick. My husband had a lot of respect for men of Ghana in this country and that included Nigel Gaisie when my husband and I thought he was a genuine man of God,” Apostle Lilian Kumah stated.

“Nigel Gaisie knew very well that my husband was terminally ill as far back as August 2023 but regardless of that, he stood on his altar on 31st December 2023 to lie through his supposed prophesy that a Ghanaian deputy minister will die in the year 2024.

“What does he want to achieve through these fake prophesies?” John Kumah’s widow further stated.

John Kumah, the 45-year-old lawmaker for Ejisu, passed away on Thursday, March 7, leaving behind a wife and six children.

The controversy surrounding Mr Gaisie’s prophecy has ignited debates about the credibility of such predictions and their impact on individuals and families.

Founder & Leader of Hope Generation Ministry International, Prophet Nana Akwesi Amponsah (Computer Man) has leveled allegations against the late deputy finance minister, John Kumah and his wife, Mrs Lilian Kumah.

In a viral video, he purported that the duo make profits from lands that do not belong to them.

According to him, they forcely claim ownership of the lands without compensating the victims.

“If I don’t attend John Kumah’s funeral it will be because of his wife. The woman is disrespectful. She speaks anyhow to anyone. John Kumah and his wife bullied people over lands. They aggressively took ownership of people’s lands and sold them to others.

In July 2023, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu faced accusations of land grabbing when a viral video emerged.

The footage showcased an elderly woman accusing John Kumah of deceitfully acquiring her land, initially intended for a government project, but allegedly used for personal gain.

In the emotional video, the woman fervently demanded the return of her land, branding John Kumah a thief and expressing her determination to expose his actions.

Although John Kumah passed away on March 7, 2024, a video from July 2023 resurfaced, featuring the woman accusing him of land grabbing.

The footage captured her tearfully asserting that Kumah had deceived them by promising to use the land for a government initiative, only to exploit it later for his private business ventures.

Her cries for justice echoed as she pledged to publicly expose John Kumah’s alleged theft.

Another voice in the video supported her accusations, condemning Kumah for betraying their trust.

Following John Kumah’s sudden death, social media speculations emerged, suggesting a potential connection between his demise and the distress caused by the woman’s accusations.

While the circumstances surrounding the MP’s death remain unclear, the resurfaced video highlights the serious allegations leveled against him.

Additionally, Onua TV presenter Captain Smart alleged that John Kumah died from food poisoning, linking it to an event involving NPP’s Chairman Wontumi.
