    BeatKing, the renowned American rapper and music producer, has passed away at the age of 39.

    His manager, Tasha Felder, announced the news on Instagram on August 15, 2024, but did not disclose the cause of death.

    Tasha shared a heartfelt tribute: “Today, August 15, 2024, we mourn the loss of BeatKing. For over a decade, he has been a defining force in the club scene.

    His influence through his music and collaborations with artists like Ludacris, 2 Chainz, and Juicy J will continue to resonate.

    He cherished his music, his daughters, and his fans deeply. His legacy will endure.”

    BeatKing was a major figure in Southern hip-hop and a key player in Houston’s vibrant music scene.

    He leaves behind his two daughters and his partner, Talameshia.

    Ghanaian music heads are drooling over the idea of a possible collaboration between Sarkodie and US rapper and actor, Ludacris.

    Ludacris is currently in Ghana reportedly working on new music.

    In a video on social media, the American hip-hop artiste was seen in an apartment eating a plate of Jollof rice, a local delicacy.

    The visual posted on the ‘Countryside’ crooner’s Instagram stories was captioned “Guess who linked up after 11 years @ludacris.”

    In another muted footage, the duo are seen bopping to a song.

    On the back of these, fans are convinced the interaction could birth new music.

    Sources say the American rapper and actor is working on a project expected to feature some African musicians and producers.

    Ludacris has shared his excitement on Instagram after being granted citizenship in his wife’s native country Gabon.

    He said on Instagram: “Starting My New Year off with Dual Citizenship! AFRICA IM OFFICIAL!! Momma & Kids Too. The Best Gift of the Decade”:

    Ludacris shared a video of himself with a government official shortly after being given his passport.

    The rapper’s wife, Eudoxie, is Gabonese. Their daughter and two other children from the rapper’s previous relationships were also granted citizenship.

    Ludacris was in Gabon after attending the Year of Return events in Ghana. The president of Ghana had declared 2019 The Year of Return, for events marking 400 years since the first enslaved Africans arrived in America. It was aimed at encouraging people of African descent to visit and even settle in Ghana.

    Ludacris’ dual citizenship comes just weeks after British film star Idris Elba was granted Sierra Leone citizenship on his first ever visit to the country.

    Elba was born in London to a father who grew up in Sierra Leone and a Ghanaian mother.
