Ghanaian socialite Nana Tornado has advised people to shift their focus from religious dependence to rational thinking and personal effort in their pursuit of success.
Speaking on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast on March 27, 2025, he criticized the mindset of relying on faith alone for financial and personal growth, stating that religion has made many people in Ghana complacent.
“Almost 90% of Ghanaians need jobs, yet they are in church, hoping that God will provide for them, even though they haven’t even submitted an application letter. Everything in this world is 99% effort; if prayer works, it accounts for only 1%,” he argued.
Tornado, who grew up in a Christian home, revealed that he stopped practicing Christianity five years ago after realizing it was not helping him progress. He believes that people should use their ability to think critically rather than depend on religious teachings that promote passivity.
“Since becoming a free thinker, there is nothing I have planned to do that I haven’t achieved. If there is a God who has given us the ability to think, what else do I need from Him? Let us remove God and Satan from every equation and think as rational human beings,” he added.
His remarks have sparked discussions, with some supporting his stance on self-reliance, while others argue that faith plays a crucial role in achieving success.
Controversial socialite and fashion enthusiast Nana Tornado has dismissed concerns over Ghana’s anti-LGBTQ+ bill, stating that its passage or rejection has no impact on his livelihood.
In a viral video shared on Instagram by blogger Mari Gyata, Nana Tornado made it clear that he remains indifferent to the issue, as it does not affect his daily survival.
“As for the bill, whether they pass it or not, it is none of my business; it doesn’t put food on my table,” he said.

“I don’t have time to be going back and forth with anyone. I’ve lived in America, and most of my friends in the US are gay. And they know my true sexuality, so I won’t bother to be arguing about it with anyone,” he explained.
Ghanaian musician Mzbel has addressed allegations made by Nana Tornado regarding her relationships, specifically stating that she sees no issue with dating her waiter.
Speaking on Accra-based Kingdom FM, Mzbel emphasized that her personal choices should not concern others around her.
She asserted that anyone uncomfortable with her decisions should feel free to distance themselves from her.
“If it doesn’t make you happy, then you are not the right person to be around me. If I like someone and you have a problem with it, then you should not be with me,” she told Accra-based Kingdom FM.
“So, if I am going out with a waiter or a cleaner, it is my space and you cannot put up with me. If I’ve done something to you, quit with me,” she added.

He began his acting career after meeting Afia Schwarzenegger, a well-known Ghanaian media personality. According to Ghana Weekend TV, the star revealed that Afia Schwarzenegger introduced him to acting. As a result, his first stint in acting was in the TV series Afia Schwarzenegger.
Despite being friends, Afia Schwarzenegger and Nana Tornado fell out after Tornado claimed that Afia had badmouthed him to his friends in the USA. Tornado responded to a viral video of Afia Schwarzenegger hurling insults at her detractors by claiming that Afia had always been the bad apple in their friendship.

As more storms move from Washington state to southern California and across the Great Lakes region on Monday, pummeling areas where hundreds of thousands are still without power after a similar string of severe weather last week, severe storms have already prompted overnight tornado reports in some parts of the central US.
According to outage tracker PowerOutage.us, at least seven tornadoes were reported in Oklahoma, where almost 50,000 energy users were without power early on Monday. In Kansas, two further tornadoes were reported.
More than 100 other storm reports – including wind and hail – were recorded in parts of Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas as hurricane-force winds and severe thunderstorms tore through the states. A gust of 114 mph was recorded In Memphis, Texas – equivalent to a category 3 hurricane.
In anticipation of severe winds and potential hail Sunday night and into Monday, an Air Force unit at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, relocated most of its aircraft to protect them from damage and ensure they can still be deployed if needed, the base announced.
As the storm shifts northward by Monday afternoon, a slight risk for severe weather – possibly a few tornadoes and wind gusts – could impact cities including Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
In the West – where last week’s storms prompted rare blizzard warnings and road flooding in California – a separate system of rain and high-elevation snow will push from the Pacific Northwest down into California and into the Rockies through Monday.
Nine western states are under winter weather alerts Monday as heavy snowfall is forecast across the region, including up to 10 inches in Washington state’s Cascades by early Tuesday; one to three feet in high elevations and mountain peaks of western Oregon; and one to three feet in mountainous areas of the Rockies.
A blizzard warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, which could see between 2 and 6 feet of snow.
Yosemite National Park was closed Saturday due to severe weather and will not reopen until at least Wednesday as the multi-day blizzard warning remains in effect across Yosemite Valley, the park announced. Yosemite Valley could see as much as 55 to 84 inches of snow by Wednesday, the park said.
Approximately 284,000 homes and businesses were without power across the US as of early Monday, about half of which were in Michigan, where the Great Lakes region is bracing for another round of ice and snow on Monday after being struck by last week’s multi-day storm.
The winter storm is then expected to push into the Northeast by Monday afternoon, where interior parts of the region could see widespread snowfall totals of 6 to 12 inches.
Meanwhile, the South is anticipating another week of unusually warm winter temperatures after steaming under record-breaking highs last week.
Dozens of daily high temperature records could be broken again in the coming days as areas of southern Texas and the Florida peninsula could see temperatures into the 90s.
More than 20 million people were under threat of severe storms stretching from western Texas to Illinois on Sunday.
The Storm Prediction Center forecast a severe storm event – known as a derecho – would sweep through the region Sunday afternoon and into the evening, with a particular focus on parts of Oklahoma.
A derecho is a widespread, long-lived windstorm that typically causes damage in one direction across a relatively straight path, according to the National Weather Service. To be classified as a derecho, the stretch of wind damage should extend more than 240 miles and include wind gusts of at least 58 mph along most of its length, it says.
In total, more than 115 storm reports were made Sunday across the Southern Plains, mainly of wind across Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. This also includes 14 hail reports in those states, with several hailstones reportedly 1.75 inches in diameter.
Nine tornadoes were reported in Oklahoma and Kansas, including one in the Oklahoma city of Norman, where police warned ofmultiple road closures, downed power lines and debris.
Students on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman were told to immediately take shelter Sunday evening as the area was under a tornado warning, which was lifted later that night.
Officials in Oklahoma are still assessing the damage, though the most concentrated impacts appear to be in Norman, Shawnee and possibly Cheyenne, said Keli Cain, public affairs director for the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Roughly a dozen families displaced by a tornado in Liberal, Kansas, are being accommodated and about 10 trailers were also damaged, City Manager Rusty Varnado said. At least one person was injured by broken glass, he said, noting the injuries are minor.
Freezing rain, snow and ice across the Great Lakes region and parts of the Midwest last week resulted in perilous travel conditions, road closures and significant power outages that disrupted daily life for many.
This week, the Great Lakes are poised to be hit all over again, including Michigan where about 146,000 homes and businesses still do not have power after the prior storms damaged trees and utility lines.
Utility company DTE, one of Michigan’s largest electricity providers, said 630,000 of its customers have been impacted by the storms so far. By Sunday night, power was restored to about 600,000 of their customers, the utility said.
Another round of mixed precipitation is expected to move into the region Monday, with those under winter weather alerts possibly seeing between 2 to 8 inches of snowfall.
As the storm moves eastward, winter storm watches are also in effect for parts of interior New York and New England through Wednesday afternoon. In total, these isolated areas can see up to 10 inches of snowfall.
Boston, which is under a winter weather advisory from Monday evening until Tuesday evening, is expected to get 2 to 5 inches of snowfall.

In a video that Tornado shared on Instagram, he made fun of Afia, stating that she couldn’t possibly remain silent for the next two years after the court forbade her from engaging in online insults and fights.
“Afia Schwarzenegger, you can’t be quiet for two years, the two years the judge has given you to keep quiet, and not insult anyone on social media, you can’t.
“The ¢60,000 you were asked to pay, you paid it with ease because it’s not a lot of money when you borrow from people,” he said.
He further stated that she would have chosen to remain in custody for 10 days if the judge had entirely barred her from using social media.
“You know very well that if the judge had banned you from social media for two years, you would have taken the ten-day jail term without argument. That’s why I am saying, if you act smart on this earth, when you see a goat, you will greet it, good morning.
“Ghanaians you’ve heard of the breaking news already, it’s not me, Automatic, that will have to inform you. The judge has judged the case between Afia and Chairman Wontumi. We are winning,” Tornado added on January 31, 2023.
Earlier on Tuesday, Afia Schwarzenegger was asked by the Tema High Court to pay GHC60,000 instead of a jail sentence during her contempt case hearing.
In an exclusive interview with Abrantepa, Maurice Ampaw, Chairman Wontumi’s attorney, said that part of Schwarzenegger’s sentencing included a two-year restriction on social media.

In a video that Tornado shared on Instagram, he praised Chairman Wontumi for taking action and went ahead to shower him with accolades.
“Today is the happiest day of my life. If they say ‘Happiest Day’, I Tornado, if they ask me when is the happiest day of my life, I will say today is.
“Ghanaians do you remember in some time past, Afia Schwarzenegger sat on United Showbiz to defame Chairman Wontumi, Ashanti Regional Minister. Chairman Wontumi. Chairman, if you say can, you still will find a way to deliver. Chairman wherever you are, I salute you, Sir,” he said.
Tornado said he had spoken to Fada Dickson when Afia sat on the United Showbiz show and assert that she dated Chairman Wontumi.
“Do you remember she sat on the United Showbiz show, which Nana Ama McBrown hosts, and defamed Chairman Wontumi, and it turned into a severe issue in Ghana? On the show Kwame A Plus was there, Mr Logic was at the front and one or two people were.
“With the way, things were going, I published a video talking about how Leticia (Nana Ama McBrown) handled the situation on the United Showbiz and said she didn’t do it right and so I called Fada Dickson and told him they need to cut that discussion short,” he added.
He also explained how the court’s sentencing procedure worked.
He added that Nana Ama McBrown, Mr Logic, Kwame A Plus, and Fada Dickson have also been fined ¢60,000 each with Afia receiving a ten-day sentence as part of the fine she will pay.
“Later UTV came out to apologise but we were told the issue was in court and then later ugly Mr Logic videoed himself insulting me. The long and short of the issue is that Ghanaians, as of today Leticia (Nana Ama McBrown), Fada Dickson, Mr Logic, and Kwame A Plus when they got to court, this is how the ruling turned out.
“They fined Fada Dickson 60,000 cedis, our lady Leticia was also fined 60,000 cedis, Kwame A Plus was also fined 60,000 cedis and Mr Logic was also fined 60,000 cedis. Do you know what is fun about this case is that, after Afia was fined 60,000 cedis, she was also given 10 days in imprisonment? So, Ghanaians, Afia Schwarzenegger is going to prison for ten days with a fine of 60,000 cedis,” he mocked.
This court sentence comes after the socialite publicly proclaimed that she had an amorous relationship with the politician.
Afia restated her allegations on the United Showbiz show hosted by Nana Ama McBrown with two co-panelists. Mr Logic also made pronouncements on Afia’s allegations despite the matter being before the courts.
On July 14, 2022, Chairman Wontumi subsequently dragged Afia Schwarzenegger, Nana Ama McBrown, Kwame A Plus, Mr Logic and Fadda Dickson before the court for contempt.
Meanwhile, attempts to reach the lawyers of the five personalities have proved futile.
Halifax firstly described Nana Tornado with four earrings in both ears, no dreadlocks, has two zigzag “a boy” in his hair, two nose rings, a gold blink in his mouth.
Tornado indicated that he fell off his stairs and broke his teeth that’s why he is having the Gold blink. He continued to say that he use to have 32 earrings and so having four is normal.
He revealed that wearing earrings is his “fetish” he can never dress without them. He said he feels he is not complete. He started wearing chains at the age of 9.
Nana Tornado hinted that he does not have acting in mind since it does not fetch him money. He said he acted for 6 years for someone and she made a lot out of him. He said he now supplies hair cream to about 18 saloon in South Africa and that fetch him more money than acting.

He also emphatically said God has not written any book and hasn’t called anybody to be a pastor it a choice. He indicated that some of the things in the Bible does not make sense.
