A/R: Pastor allegedly commits suicide after beheading wife at Trabuom

A tragic incident has occurred in Trabuom, located in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, where a 50-year-old pastor, Victor Appiah, has allegedly beheaded his 46-year-old wife, Akua Emelia, on a cassava farm.

The couple had been experiencing ongoing domestic disputes, which had previously caused Akua to temporarily leave the marriage.

However, after Victor persuaded her to return, the horrific event unfolded on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Eyewitnesses and family members report that Victor instructed Akua to gather cassava for a meal, not knowing it would be her last task.

According to her brother, Kofi Bonsu, Victor ambushed Akua on the farm, using a machete to commit the brutal act.

Following the murder, Victor allegedly took his own life by drinking poison. Akua was a mother of eight children.

“My sister had left her husband due to some misunderstandings, but he convinced her to return. Little did we know it was a trap.”

After the horrific act, Victor reportedly contacted Akua’s mother to inform her of the murder, instructing the family to retrieve her body. In a shocking twist, he then took his own life by consuming poison.

The police have initiated an investigation into this tragic incident. Residents of Trabuom expressed their disbelief in an interview with OTEC News, describing Victor as a respected pastor and community leader, leaving the community in shock.

“This is unbelievable. Pastor Victor was always preaching about love and forgiveness. We never suspected he was capable of such evil,” said a resident.

Marriage is not meant for everyone – Pastor

Marriage counselor Rev. Dr. Nanayaa Owusu-Prempeh has highlighted that marriage is not a necessity for everyone, challenging the common misconception that it is.

She referred to Biblical teachings, specifically Apostle Paul’s preference for celibacy while acknowledging that marriage might be preferable for those lacking self-control to prevent sin.

In an interview on TV3’s Confession show, Rev. Dr. Owusu-Prempeh urged society to stop judging those who choose not to marry, emphasizing that marriage is not compulsory.

She also pointed out that individuals who decide against marriage should be aware of the potential challenges, such as the absence of children to support them later in life.

“We are not all supposed to get married. Marriage is a choice. As Christians, we have role models, such as Apostle Paul, who chose not to marry. In 1 Corinthians 7, he says he wished no man would have a wife, but if you cannot control yourself, you should marry.

“Yes, it’s better to marry than to masturbate or burn with passion. You should not condemn people who choose not to marry, but they shouldn’t expect my child to run errands for them because they chose not to marry,” she said.

Don’t rush into marriage if you’re not financially ready – Rev. Obofuor

Rev. Obofuor, a prominent pastor, has urged young people to carefully consider their decision to marry, emphasizing that marriage is a significant commitment.

In a recent sermon delivered to his congregation, he highlighted the importance of not rushing into this life-altering choice.

“Marriage is not a child’s play,” Rev. Obofuor said. “A lot goes into the decision to get married, and it is crucial for one to be circumspect.”

He advised against hastiness in seeking a partner, noting that while many look for relationships, the outcomes can vary.

“I will advise the youth not to rush into marriage. It is a very delicate moment in one’s life, and one must be circumspect,” he added.

In a recent sermon that has gone viral, Pastor Otabil passionately argued that it is misguided to believe that one must be financially well-off before getting married.

He shared a personal anecdote, revealing that he wasn’t rich when he married his wife and that he even had to paint a bench white to use as furniture in their home.

“If you’re waiting to be rich before you marry, then your head is not working properly. You don’t want to marry, but you’re already living together. You want what’s reserved for marriage without going through the process. Your head is hurting you —be bold and marry,” he is heard saying in the viral video.

Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, widely known as St. Sark and the head of Open Arms Ministry in Kumasi, has cautioned New Force leader Nana Kwame Bediako, known as Cheddar, to forgo his intention to run in this year’s presidential election.

St. Sark has warned that ignoring this advice could lead to significant setbacks for Cheddar’s political ambitions.

“I did a press conference and I advised him that he is young, in terms of politics and everything. So, if he wants to enter politics and become a president in Ghana, he should give himself 10 years.

“I told him but he didn’t listen and is still actively aiming to be president,” he said.

In a media briefing held at his church auditorium on Friday, July 19, 2024, St. Sark stated, “This is my last warning to him. If he doesn’t comply, his political career will come to an end on the 23rd of August because the kind of things I will say, it may affect his life throughout. I am telling him because I know where he is coming from.”

He emphasized that he has repeatedly advised Nana Kwame Bediako to reconsider his decision but to no avail.

“I know where he is coming from. I know everything about him, and that is why I am advising him to step down. I have advised that he is too young and too raw for the presidential seat,” he added.

‘No one forced me to marry my wife’ – Akwaboah

Ghanaian musician Akwaboah Jnr. has firmly denied claims that his pastor once advised him against marrying the mother of his child. During an interview on The Delay Show on June 8, 2024, the musician clarified the situation surrounding his relationship with his wife, Theresa, whom he married in May.

Akwaboah stressed that the rumors were unfounded and that he made his own decision regarding his partner. “At my age and with my experience, must someone force a lady on me?” he questioned, recounting their meeting. He explained that while Theresa is his pastor’s secretary, their relationship developed independently.

“He [the pastor] didn’t introduce her to me. She’s my pastor’s secretary, so whenever I want to see my pastor, I’ll go through her. And I noticed I liked her, I proposed to her, and we’re where we are,” Akwaboah shared.

He also refuted the idea that his pastor intervened in his romantic decisions. “So, the claims that our pastor forced her on me are untrue. He never asked me to quit my relationship with my baby mama,” he clarified. Akwaboah added that his wife is a midwife by profession.

Akwaboah, who is part of Prophet Amoako Atta’s Lord’s Parliament Chapel, shared that he separated from previous partners due to irreconcilable differences. “She was pregnant, we separated, and I decided to take care of my son,” he said, noting that his son is now ten years old. “A lot happened before we separated, but I wouldn’t go into it. I took my son when he was a year old.”

He also spoke about his responsibilities as a father, revealing that he has two children with two different women. “The second born is five years old; the child is in the UK with the mother, and I take care of that child as well,” Akwaboah explained.

Pennsylvania pastor escapes shooting attempt during sermon as gun jams

A man approached the pulpit on Sunday while the Rev. Glenn Germany was preaching to his congregation outside of Pittsburgh and pointed a handgun at him.

The man pulled the trigger, but not before Germany ducked and hid behind a lectern. The pastor called it “a miracle” that the gun jammed and failed to discharge.

Clarence McCallister, a church deacon, subdued the gunman, who the police identified as 26-year-old Bernard Polite. According to a live-streamed video of the service and the criminal complaint filed against Polite, McCallister and Germany grappled with him over the gun; the pastor then restrained Polite until police arrived.

In relation to the attempted shooting, Polite was charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt at murder, and reckless endangerment of another person. According to court documents, he was imprisoned in Allegheny County and is being represented by a public defender.

That night, authorities responded to a distress call at Polite’s residence in North Braddock, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of Polite’s cousin, identified as Derek Polite, 56, by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The medical examiner confirmed that Derek Polite had suffered gunshot wounds. Subsequently, Bernard Polite was charged with criminal homicide, according to Allegheny County police spokesperson Jim Madalinsky.

Church officials at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock stated that Polite was not affiliated with their congregation. According to the complaint, he entered the church shortly before the 1 p.m. service, exited briefly, and then returned to take a seat as Pastor Germany commenced his sermon.

The pastor, unaware of any danger, attributed Polite’s presence to the anticipated arrival of a new visitor. However, within moments of the sermon’s commencement, Polite rose and attempted to fire at Pastor Germany, as recounted by the pastor himself.

“As he approached me, I didn’t have time to really think. I just reacted naturally,” Germany said. “It was just the grace of God that that trigger he pulled, it got jammed. And that was just God’s mercy.”

While waiting for police, Germany talked with Polite, he said, asking the congregation to step away. He felt that God would want him to extend love to the man, he said.

“I felt more sad for him, and I wanted him to know that I loved him more than I was angry with him,” Germany said. “I wanted him to know that I forgave him.”

Polite allegedly told both Germany and a Pennsylvania State Police trooper that God had told him to carry out the shooting, according to the criminal complaint. He allegedly told the trooper that he had planned on shooting the pastor, waiting to be arrested and going to jail to “clear his mind.”

“We are surely thankful that the weapon didn’t discharge,” Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. said in a statement. “This could have been much worse, and a devastating circumstance.”

McCallister told “Good Morning America,” “I just jumped up and … pulled his arm down to his side and locked him up.”

“That was an act of heroism if I’ve ever seen one,” Germany said of McCallister.

Germany, who has been pastor of the small congregation for 14 years, said his wife and teenage daughter witnessed the event. On Tuesday, he said they were still healing as a family.

“For my daughter, at one point, it was hard for her to process,” he said, “but it gave her a chance to really see … the purpose of trusting God. She had the chance to see a miracle, a work of God, firsthand.”

Stubbornness took me nowhere in life, I’m working to become a pastor – Krofrom Killer

Kweku Kweku, also known as ‘Krofrom Killer,’ a well-known ex-convict in Kumasi, has expressed regret over his past actions and the path he chose, stating that he would have avoided a life of notoriety if he could turn back time.

During an interview with Poleena Multimedia, Krofrom Killer recounted his twelve-year imprisonment without trial during the late former President Jerry John Rawlings‘ regime.

He acknowledged that while he once took pleasure in his infamous reputation during his youth, he now realizes that it was an unworthy pursuit in life.

Reflecting on his past, Krofrom Killer mentioned that some of his peers, who were focused and hardworking, have achieved prominence and are leading better lives.

He expressed that if given the opportunity to relive his younger years, he would have stayed out of trouble and opted for pastoral work.

“What led to my regret is that notoriety got me nowhere in life. Perhaps I would have had a better life if not for my stubbornness. If time could be reversed, I even wish I was a pastor. It’s not too late; we are still working on it. Some of my friends are employed in reputable companies and enjoying a good life,” he remarked.

Stop labeling me as an NPP pastor – Owusu-Bempah

Leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International (GWPMI), Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has emphasized that he maintains no political allegiance.

Owusu-Bempah clarified that labeling him as a supporter of any particular political party, especially the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is inaccurate, asserting that he harbors no animosity towards any political faction in the nation.

“Some have tagged me as an NPP pastor, I am not. What it is, is that whatever God reveals to me is what I state, as in, I go where the revelation leads me. Just because a pastor releases a prophecy that does not go in your party’s favour; that doesn’t mean he hates you.

“I do not hate NDC or NPP but what I see is what I speak to. I came out myself this year to pronounce that I will not speak on who will win the 2024 polls. I know it but won’t divulge it.

“I will meet with whoever will win the polls, if they listen to directions that I will give, they will be victorious,” he added.

During an interview on Okay FM, where he reiterated recent criticism directed at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the religious figure known as the Nation’s Prophet emphasized that he merely conveys what he perceives as revelations from God.

He continued to criticize former ally President Akufo-Addo, highlighting that since private channels of communication have been cut off, he will continue to voice his concerns publicly.

He accused Akufo-Addo of relinquishing control of the nation to his relatives, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

“We did not vote for them, none of them was elected to take the presidential seat. Things are not going well and he (Akufo-Addo) must be told.

“Even if Ofori-Atta has been relieved of his post, the Akyem Mafia so-called are in charge. I am pained like most NPP people who cannot openly complain, God will ask me if I fail to tell him the truth while he is in office,” he emphasized.

Renowned actor now turned pastor, Timothy Bentum, shared his journey of triumph over a 17-year drug addiction, attributing his recovery to divine intervention.

Bentum, who confessed to a prolonged struggle with cocaine and later marijuana addiction, revealed in an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show that his experience was marked by an absence of withdrawal symptoms, a phenomenon he attributes to God’s influence in his life.

“I think God played a huge role in me overcoming cocaine addiction,” Bentum affirmed, emphasising his conviction that God transformed what was once a shameful experience into a powerful testimony of redemption.

The founder of Timothy Bentum Ministries, reflecting on his past, recalled being “enthusiastically devoted to the sniffing of cocaine for twelve years” before transitioning to a five-year addiction to marijuana, also known as “wee.”

“12 years of cocaine addiction, five years of weed addiction, in all seventeen years of addictions to the devil. If you find out how much we have done for Satan, you will understand our passion to do this for God,” Bentum stated in 2017, echoing the magnitude of his journey towards spiritual renewal.

Despite seeking assistance from clinical psychologists and mental health experts during his battle with addiction, Bentum stressed that it was the intervention of God that ultimately facilitated his recovery.

“Personally, I believe that I was in that place to help people and everybody I have helped, it is about first admitting that there is a problem,” Bentum reflected, outlining key steps to recovery including acknowledging the issue, embracing faith, distancing from negative influences, and fostering accountability.

Through his story, Bentum’s message resonates as a beacon of hope for those grappling with addiction, showcasing the transformative power of faith and determination in overcoming life’s greatest challenges.

The incident occurred when the woman arrived at the church wearing a green bodycon dress, which the prophet found inappropriate.

Video: Fetish priest allegedly storms church for charm pastor came for

A spiritual practitioner known as Nana 5:30 made an unexpected appearance at the Vision Power Ministry in Amamole, a suburb of Accra, on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

Nana 5:30, renowned as a fetish priest, claimed that he had previously provided a charm to the church’s leader, Odeefour Agyenim Boateng, aiming to assist in attracting more members and facilitating miraculous performances.

A video circulated by EDHUB, a social media handle on X, on Friday, February 23, 2024, captured the moment when Nana 5:30 and his associates arrived at the Vision Power Ministry.

In the footage, one of the priest’s aides was seen digging into the ground to retrieve the alleged charm previously buried.

After a considerable effort, the aide unearthed what appeared to be a securely tied cloth. Strikingly, the object seemed surprisingly clean, contrary to the notion that it had been buried for an extended period.

“… this is my charm; I have uprooted it. I was the one who buried it here. This is it; this is our charm; we have come back for our thing,” the fetish priest said.

The group contended that the pastor had fled upon realizing their arrival at the church.

However, a woman within the church, presumably the pastor’s wife, challenged Nana 5:30 and his team’s assertion, labeling them as scammers.

She accused them of fabricating the charm’s presence to tarnish the pastor’s reputation.

“How can the rubber look so fresh or Ebi say them plant um that day norrrr. And how is the whole not that deep for burying something like this?” one person wrote.

Another X user noted, “The rubber looks fresh though, but who plants such things in earth with a rubber around it, it supposed to touch the earth raw not in a rubber, I don’t know but I feel this might be a set up.”

Will 24-hour economy policy be advantageous to churches? – Pastor quizzes Mahama

The leader of Nyametease Ampa Prayer Ministry in Kumasi, Prophet Kusi Appiah, has raised concerns about the potential impact of former president John Dramani Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy on the Christian community.

The religious leader has challenged Mahama to outline the specific benefits that the 24-hour economy would bring to churches, highlighting that the Christian community is already active around the clock.

During an interview on Kumasi-based Wontumi TV/Radio on February 21, 2024, Prophet Kusi Appiah suggested that the inspiration behind the proposed 24-hour economy might stem from the continuous operations of churches.

He emphasized that many religious institutions are already engaged in round-the-clock activities.

Prophet Kusi Appiah expressed his belief that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, could offer more substantial support to churches through his digitalization agenda compared to the 24-hour economy.

“I am already working 24 hours, so your 24-hour economy was even learned from us. What would the 24-hour do for churches?

“If you want me to change my mind or stop praying for Bawumia, they should come out and convince me that the 24-hour will add value to my church.

“But when it comes to digitalization, even as an illiterate, I can point out about three or four benefits of digitalization to the churches,” he stated during the interview.

Chun Ki-won, 67, has been given a five-year prison sentence for touching children inappropriately at the school he ran in Seoul.

For many years, people saw the pastor as a saviour. They called him an “Asian Schindler” and said his operations were like an “Underground Railroad” for people escaping the North’s government.

He got caught by the police in Seoul in September.

The police said he did something bad to six teenagers from North Korea. They were staying at the school he started.

Chun said he didn’t do it, but the court decided the victims’ proof was undeniable.

“The victims are saying the same things, and it includes details that only someone who experienced the situation first-hand would know,” said Judge Seung-jeong Kim of the Seoul Central District Court.

The judge said that Chun did bad things when he had a lot of power.

He was found to have done bad things to kids in five out of six cases. Some of the kids had run away by themselves, and others had left with their families who were helped by Chun’s mission.

Chun started Durihana, a well-known charity in South Korea that helps North Koreans escape through China.

He says he has helped over 1,000 North Koreans get away from the strict Kim family rule in the last 25 years. Pyongyang has criticized him for his work.

In 2002, he was in the news because he was put in prison in China for seven months while trying to escape.

He set up a school for kids whose parents left North Korea. Many news outlets, like BBC and CNN, made stories about his work.

The media often said he was like Oskar Schindler, who saved over 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust.

South Korea is really surprised by his arrest and conviction, and everyone’s been talking about his trial this week.

The news on TV showed an older person named Chun wearing a white outfit and being taken to court with handcuffs on, surrounded by guards.

“I am not on the payroll of my church as a pastor, but I enjoy it” – Akesse Brempong

Gospel musician Akesse Brempong recently disclosed that he does not receive financial assistance from his church for his pastoral responsibilities.

During an interview on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz with Amelley Djosu, Brempong emphasized that his pastoral role is voluntary and that he is not on the church’s payroll. He expressed his satisfaction with this arrangement, stating, “I am not on the payroll of the church, but I enjoy it.”

Brempong clarified that he chooses not to burden his church financially while carrying out his pastoral duties. He mentioned that he sustains himself through various income streams outside of his music career.

“It is basically because I am into a lot of things that generate revenue, and I don’t want to be another mouth for my church to be feeding,” he explained.

The ‘God is Working’ singer reaffirmed his commitment to engaging in multiple revenue-generating activities, emphasizing his preference for not receiving compensation as a pastor.

Nigerian pastor arrested for alleged fraud involving millions

Theo O Ebonyi, a prominent pastor in Benue state, Nigeria, has been arrested on charges of defrauding individuals of over 1.3 billion naira ($930,000; £740,000).

The pastor, well-known in the region, allegedly swindled his followers and others through fraudulent schemes.

Although Mr. Ebonyi was detained and released on bail last year, the news of his arrest has only recently surfaced, according to a spokesperson from the anti-corruption authority.

Mr. Ebonyi has refuted the allegations, dismissing them as “fake” information spread by bloggers. However, he has not commented directly on the accusations against him.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria alleges that Mr. Ebonyi deceived his victims into paying a $1,300 fee each to access a purported $20 billion grant from the US-based Ford Foundation. However, investigations revealed that the Ford Foundation had no association with Mr. Ebonyi or his NGO and did not offer any such grant.

Furthermore, the EFCC claims that Mr. Ebonyi used the fraudulently obtained funds to purchase five properties. He is expected to face charges in court once the investigations are concluded, though the specific charges have yet to be disclosed.

In response to the allegations, Mr. Ebonyi released a video statement on Facebook, denying the reports of his arrest and accusing bloggers of spreading false information.

However, according to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Mr. Ebonyi had indeed been arrested and released on bail last year, although the EFCC refrained from making any official statements during the ongoing investigation.

Mr Ebonyi said that the news is not true and was spread by bloggers.

He didn’t say anything about the things people are saying about him.

The EFCC in Nigeria says Mr. Ebonyi told his victims to pay $1,300 each to get a $20 billion grant from the Ford Foundation in the US.

However, it says that the foundation did not give that money.

The EFCC found out that the Ford Foundation didn’t have any deal, money, connection or work with Ebonyi, according to a statement from the agency.

“The foundation made it clear that they are not connected to him or his NGO in any way. ”

The EFCC says that Mr Ebonyi, who leads Faith on the Rock Ministry International church, bought five properties with money he got fraudulently.

The EFCC says he will go to court once the investigations are finished. It is still not known what exactly he will be accused of.

In a video Me Ebonyi posted on Facebook, he said that the news about his arrest was fake and made up by bloggers. This was around the same time as the EFCC announced his arrest. I am attempting to make money using my physical abilities. That is a really big lie. “It’s a lie. ”

But EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale told Punch newspaper that Mr Ebonyi had been arrested and then let go last year, and was now out on bail.

“He was arrested for a while, but we didn’t say anything because we were still investigating,” the spokesperson said.

I have been drinking the sperms of my pastor for 2 years – Church member recounts

A 28-year-old Ghanaian woman has disclosed a disturbing practice she undertook in a 2-year relationship with her spiritual father, Edwin Kwabena Antwi-Boasiako.

Speaking on Oyerepa FM she stated that her spiritual father who is the founder of New Era, a church located at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region made her drink his sperm whenever they have an intercourse.

She added that the consistent practice of swallowing her pastor’s sperm, according to the pastor, it is advantageous to her health.

She claimed that the pastor said drinking her sperm could heal her waist pains and all other things that could pose risk to her immune system.

According to her, she never wanted any intimate relationship with her spiritual father because he knew he was a married man.

However, she succumbed to his lies and manipulations with the reason that he promised to divorce his wife and marry her.

The 28-year-old woman stated that she initially refused to accept the pastor’s proposal but eventually agreed because what he said wasn’t good enough for him.

According to her, associating herself with the man of God is something she regrets doing, as he has asked all her suitors.

“He told me all the guys I brought to him have no future for me and that if he wasn’t married he would have married me instead. He later told me his wife was giving him problems  and the spirit in him wants him to divorce her and marry me. I refused when he said that initially but eventually I accepted,” she revealed.

Additionally she revealed that the pastor once got her pregnant and later suggested that she holds another guy responsible, since that was going to be an embarrassment on his part.

She indicated that when she refused to pay heed to the pastor’s proposal the pastor bought her drugs to terminate the pregnancy.

As per her account she got rid of the pregnancy and made an attempt to part ways with her spiritual father but that was obstructed because he promised to marry her.

“The pastor and I have been dating for 2 years. He takes me to hotels to have sex with me and makes me drink his sperm because he said the doctor says it’s good. He got me pregnant and asked me to hold a different guy responsible. He asked me to abort when I refused. He later bought me a medicine to terminate the pregnancy. After the abortion I decided to part ways with him but he refused to let me go; promising me marriage. If not for the pastor I would have been married and left Ghana. He doesn’t like it when I make calls. He sacked all my suitors from me,”she added.

She also revealed how her fiance lured her into taking a loan for him in her  name but ended up paying the loan and its interest because he refused to pay.

“This man of God convinced me into taking a loan for him in my name. He promised to  pay the loan and the interests. After paying the 1st and the second time he became reluctant in paying the rest. Whenever I confront him on when he is going to pay the subsequent ones he becomes angry. I have taken this man as my spiritual father so whenever a guy proposes to me, I ask him to see if the guy is the right person for me.

She stated that there was always an uproar whenever she inquired about the loan; because that was the initial agreement they had.

“He told me all the guys I brought to him have no future for me and that if he wasn’t married he would have married me instead. He later told me his wife was giving him problems  and the spirit in him wants him to divorce her and marry me. I refused when he said that initially but eventually I accepted, “ she indicated .

Colorado pastor charged with $3 million cryptocurrency scam

A pastor and his wife from Colorado are accused of tricking many local Christians in a big cryptocurrency scam.

The pastor Eli Regalado and his wife Kaitlyn are accused of tricking people and making more than $3 million by selling cryptocurrency that is not worth much.

The Regalados are accused of making at least $1. 3 million from their plan between June 2022 and April 2023, according to prosecutors.

Mr Regalado said that his idea came from God, as said in court documents.

The pastor claimed that God told him that people who invest in INDXcoin, a cryptocurrency created by the Regalados, would become rich.

The Regalados, who are in charge of the Kingdom Wealth Exchange, gave INDXcoin to Christians in the Denver area.

The couple didn’t know about cryptocurrency. An auditor found INDXcoin to be unsafe, unsecure, and full of technical problems.

“Even though there was a report about it, the Regalados kept telling people that INDXcoin was a safe and profitable investment,” the report said.

The INDXcoin was not easy to turn into cash and was almost worth nothing. The couple spent the money on their extravagant way of living.

Officials said they found a Range Rover, fancy purses, jewelry, rented boats and snowmobile trips.

Colorado’s top financial regulator, Tung Chan, has accused someone of breaking the law by lying or cheating to investors.

She said her department found out about the problem because many people who invested in INDXcoin complained about losing money.

Mr Relagado talked about the accusations in a video he posted on Friday.

Colorado is saying it’s worthless because people who bought cryptocurrency can’t take their money out.

We started a market where people can trade things. The trade system broke down. Things got worse, and since then, we’ve only been hoping for a miracle from the Lord.

The pastor admitted that it was true that Mr. Relagado and his wife received $1. 3 million

“He said that out of the $1. 3 million, half of it went to the IRS and $200,000 went towards renovating our home, as the Lord had told us to do. ”

Lots of people wrote nice things in the comments on the video, like “sending prayers” and “keep going, be strong”.

The BBC has asked the Regalados for their thoughts or opinions.

In the complaint, Colorado prosecutors want to get temporary help, money for investors, and control of the Relagados’ property.

They have to go to Denver District Court next week.

Ken Agyapong prays long life for pastor who prophesied falsely against him

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has responded to a prophecy forecasting that he would receive no more than 16% of votes in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

Prophet Paul Kusi Appiah of the Charisma Temple International Ministry stated that he was willing to be labeled a ‘false prophet’ if Agyapong exceeded the 16% prediction in the November 4 vote.

Following the primaries, Agyapong surpassed the forecasted margin, securing 37% of the votes compared to the eventual winner, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who obtained over 61%.

During a thanksgiving party over the weekend, where he addressed his campaign team and supporters from across the country, Agyapong spoke to those who doubted his strength and underestimated him.

“We went into a contest and as you know, you either win or lose. This contest was one man against the whole system. They underestimated me, when the election was getting close, I was told I will get 10% maximum. Others floated a research finding that I will get 15%, today they are all hiding,” he said to applause.

On Prophet Kusi Appaih, he submitted: “A pastor claimed if I got over 16%, he should die. But this evening I pray for God to grant him long life… I want to tell him that he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day.

“So, I know there is time ahead of us. I beseech you all to pray for me to get long life with good health, with that, the will of God will surely be done,” he stressed.

    Aftermath of November 4

Following the November 4 vote, Dr. Bawumia secured victory in the party’s flagbearer contest by polling 61.47% of the total votes cast, representing nearly 200,000 delegates.

His nearest rival, Ken Agyapong, garnered a surprising 37.41%, eliciting commendation from party members who had previously criticized him during the campaigns.

This week, Bawumia visited Ken at his residence, indicating early efforts to bring him on board for the 2024 campaign.

Pastor shot dead during service in South Africa

Reverend Pastor Dwayne Gordon met a tragic end when he was fatally shot during a service at the Eagle Christian Church in Newlands, Johannesburg. The distressing incident occurred on Friday, October 6, leaving three other individuals injured.

According to law enforcement officials, a group of approximately six unidentified men confronted a congregation in the Newlands church. The assailants opened fire, resulting in injuries to three individuals.

The live broadcast of the church service, widely circulated on social media, captures Reverend Gordon passionately delivering his sermon to the congregation moments before the suspects unleashed gunfire. The perpetrators proceeded to rob attendees of their cellphones and personal belongings before making a hasty escape from the scene.

Meanwhile, the African Christian Democratic Party has condemned the incident.

The party said for criminals, church is no longer sacred as it lost one of its Councillors, Pastor Myaka in June this year, who was gunned down while preaching in his church in Nseleni, Umhlatuze, KwaZulu-Natal.

“The greed and moral depravity of the criminals drives them into the hallowed walls of Christian worship, intent to cause as much harm as possible.

“The rise of violent crime is a dual indicator of the incapacity of SAPS and crime fighting units in South Africa to not only apprehend criminals, but also to prevent crime from occurring in the first instance. Secondly, it is an indication of the rise of moral decadence, a move away from the rule of law and an attack on the Body of Christ as a whole,” the ACDP said.

Ethiopia: Extreme fasting-propagating cult members repatriated

Some 80 followers of a cult in eastern Uganda who travelled to Ethiopia in February at the call of a pastor to find salvation by fasting to death have been repatriated, the Ugandan authorities said on Tuesday.

The Church of Christ Disciples had travelled to Ethiopia after their pastor, Simon Opolot, said they would find Jesus after 40 days of fasting.

“Working with the Ethiopian government, we were able to organize their repatriation, and they are all safe and sound in Uganda,” Simon Mundeyi, spokesman for the Ugandan Ministry of Internal Affairs, told AFP.

He added that the pastor had not yet been arrested. “He has been put on the wanted list and will be apprehended,” he said.

Mr Mundeyi also said that the followers, from the Soroti region, about 300 kilometers north-east of the capital Kampala, had sold all their possessions on the grounds that the end of the world was near.

“But the Ethiopian authorities learned of their arrival in the country, recovered them and confined them until their repatriation documents were ready”, added Simon Mundeyi.

In 2000, more than 700 followers of the “Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God” sect of Protestant origin died in Uganda, an African country in the Great Lakes region, either in mass suicide ceremonies or killed by the sect’s leaders.

Some 300 followers burned to death in their church, which was barricaded from the outside, in Kanungu, in the south-west of the country, while the police exhumed the bodies of 400 people, mainly women and children, piled up in mass graves.

In neighboring Kenya, more than 250 people have been found dead so far since April in the Shakahola forest, near the coast, where followers of an evangelical sect advocating extreme fasting to “meet Jesus” were meeting.

The leader of the cult, Paul Nthenge Mackenzie, a former taxi driver who proclaimed himself a pastor, was arrested and is being prosecuted for “terrorism”.

Pastor bashes Hilda Baci on her style of dressing

A Nigerian pastor has criticized Hilda Baci over the way she dresses.

Following Hilda’s historic achievement, social media was inundated with images of every description, some of which raised eyebrows.

Netizens thronged Hilda Baci’s Instagram to check out her posts, in the quest to discover more about the popular ‘record-breaking chef’.

A look at the 27-year-old actress cum chef’s Instagram page captures her in different kinds of outfits, most of which are hot and saucy.

Bikini fits, clothes defining her curves, and exposing parts of her banging body among others were spotted.

However, a pastor has indirectly reacted to this development.

In excerpts of his sermon which has gone viral, he noted that any individual who attains a higher dimension in life must dress accordingly.

He said, no matter the record an individual breaks, they must endeavor to dress in a way that projects their achievement and not their bodies.

“There is something that the book of proverbs called the attire of a harlot. It means if you see a demon girl, you can know from her dressing. It doesn’t matter the record she break. There is a way you can dress and we will suspect that it is not food this person is selling,” he said.

Although he did not mention Hilda’s name, many linked his sermon to Hilda Baci, particularly because he cited a record-breaking attempt in his speech.

  • Kenya cult: Pastor claims that children are intended to die first

Kenya cult: Pastor claims that children are intended to die first

Recent reports has revealed that children were the first to starve to death during the final days of a Christian doomsday cult in Kenya.

Police investigating an apparent mass suicide have so far exhumed 201 bodies in a forest in the nation’s southeast.

A former deputy preacher of the cult told the New York Times that children were killed first, ordered “to fast in the sun so they would die faster.”

Women and men were next to follow the suicide plan, Titus Katana said.

Mr Katana – who is helping police with the investigation – also described to the Sunday Times the alleged brutal treatment of the children, saying they were shut in huts for five days without food or water.

“Then they wrapped them in blankets and buried them, even the ones still breathing,” he was quoted as saying.

It is alleged that the cult followers were told they would reach heaven faster if they starved to death.

Official autopsies of some of the bodies in the expansive Shakahola farm, near the coastal town of Malindi, found signs of starvation, suffocation and beatings.

More than 600 people who are reported to be members of the doomsday cult allegedly led by Pastor Paul Mackenzie are still missing.

Pastor Mackenzie, who is currently in police custody, said he closed down his Good News International Church four years ago after nearly two decades of operation.

But the BBC had uncovered hundreds of his sermons still available online, some of which appeared to have been recorded after this date.

In an interview with Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper a few weeks ago, Pastor Mackenzie also denied he had forced his followers to starve themselves.

But Pastor Mackenzie preached against education, saying that it was satanic, after receiving a “revelation from God”, Mr Katana told the New York Times.

Explaining his reasoning for leaving the cult, Mr Katana, who is also assisting in a police investigation against the pastor, said his teachings had become too “strange”.

Pastor Mackenzie also encouraged mothers to avoid seeking medical attention during childbirth and not to vaccinate their children.

Much of Pastor Mackenzie’s preaching relates to the fulfilment of Biblical prophecies about Judgement Day.

The church’s online content also features posts about the end of the world, impending doom and the supposed dangers of science.

And there are frequent warnings of an omnipotent satanic force that has supposedly infiltrated the highest echelons of power around the world.

Kenyan Police question acclaimed ‘Jesus’ in crackdown on cults

Police have summoned a controversial Kenyan preacher as the government tightens down on what it terms renegade churches and radical religious leaders.

On Tuesday, Eliud Wekesa, famously known as “Jesus of Tongaren” and the leader of the New Jerusalem sect, was summoned for interrogation over his questionable religious beliefs.

He has convinced his church members to believe that he is Jesus. Mr. Wekesa has 12 disciples named after biblical Jacob’s descendants.

On Wednesday, he is scheduled to appear before police in the western county of Bungoma.

According to local media, the preacher claims he has done nothing wrong to deserve his detention and that he only shares the gospel.

This comes as investigators on Tuesday exhumed 21 more bodies in the coastal Kilifi county, bringing the total of those known to have died in the doomsday cult to 133.

Pastor Paul Mackenzie, the leader of the Good News International Church based in Kilifi, is awaiting trial, amid accusations of ordering his followers to starve themselves to death.

Hundreds of others have been reported missing.

President William Ruto has formed a commission of inquiry to probe the now-called Shakahola cult deaths in Kilifi county.

Police in the neighbouring Kwale county on Monday rescued 200 people, including 50 children, from a forest in a suspected case of religious kidnapping.

Pastor expelled for impregnating 10 church members

A Nigerian pastor has been expelled from Umuidoko Ogrute in Enugu Ezike, Enugu State for allegedly impregnating at least 10 church members.

The self-acclaimed miracle pastor was paraded in the community by angry residents when they learnt of his escapades with female church members.

According to reports, the yet-to-be-identified cleric was apprehended on Friday, April 28, when one of his female members revealed to her family that her pastor was responsible for her pregnancy.

According to a source, the nabbed pastor often took the women to a mountain under the guise of special prayers as most of them were said to be looking for miracles.

It was gathered that he built a small hut on top the mountain where he carried out the condemnable act of sleeping with them on a rotational basis.

The pastor has allegedly been prophesying that they will clinch rich men for marriage, and believing his words, they succumbed to his request.

The source also said that when the ladies inform him that they are carrying his child, he asked them to terminate it the pregnancy.

Outraged by his actions, members of the community razed down his church and sent him packing.

A source said; “This man has a church and goes to the mountain with his female church members for prayers. It was revealed that 99% of his church members are women who aren’t from the community. He always gives them visions to help them get married to rich men. The women desperate for a miracle, visit his church for solution and never return home to their families.

Unfortunately for him, one of his victims was accosted by her family members and she explained how she got pregnant. Her revelation made irate youth pay the church a courtesy visit.

They got there and found other victims whom they set free from the pastor’s bondage. They razed down the church and helped him pack his items advising him never to return to the village.”

Dead pastor who could’nt resurrect after 579 days burried

In Johannesburg’s Westpark Cemetery, Pastor Siva Moodley of South Africa was finally laid to rest in a dignified manner after waiting for a resurrection that never materialized for nearly 600 days.

Moodley, who founded The Miracle Centre in north Johannesburg, passed away on August 15, 2021. Yet, he was buried in a mortuary by his family and church because they believed he would be revived.

After nearly 600 days of waiting for a resurrection that never came, South African Pastor Siva Moodley was finally buried in a dignified manner at Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.

Moodley, who founded The Miracle Centre in the north of Johannesburg, passed away on August 15, 2021. His family and congregation, however, kept his body at a mortuary, believing he would be resurrected.

Cases of families and followers of clergymen believing in their resurrection are not uncommon.

In 2021, a Zambian self-proclaimed prophet died after his attempt to recreate Jesus’ resurrection backfired spectacularly. 22-year-old Pastor James Sakara died after he asked his followers to bury him alive for three days so that he could miraculously resurrect.

Sakara, a pastor at the Zion Church in the Zambian town of Chidiza, convinced his congregation that he could come back from the dead and resurrect on the third day.

Members of the church are reported to have performed a series of “spiritual exercises” to resurrect their prophet. Unfortunately, it was to no avail. Prophet James Sakara was unable to emulate Jesus and rise from the dead after three days.

He was survived by a young pregnant wife.

Pastor takes AK-47 to the altar in Nigeria

“Some people are looking for my trouble. And I came here prepared,” joked Pastor Uche Aigbe on Sunday as he took to the pulpit brandishing an assault rifle.

Under Nigerian law, it’s only legal to carry a gun if the Inspector General of Police grants you a licence.

It’s not known whether the gun the pastor carried in the House on the Rock Church in Abuja belonged to him, or if the gun was loaded. The church has not responded to requests to comment.

“Today, there are some pastors with gift of divination who go about ripping people. This is why we should carry our ‘guns’ and defend ourselves. I will particularly be coming very soon for some of you sleeping in the church,” he told the laughing congregation on Sunday.

Pastor insults congregation for giving only Ghc 2.70p as offertory

A video of a pastor blasting his church members for giving 100 naira which is equivalent to Ghc2.70p as an offering has been making the rounds online.

In the short video, the clergyman who was enraged that his members gave such a meagre sum as an offering, said it was one of the reasons they have remained poor.

He said it is shameful that they are giving the Almighty N100 and N20 considering that the church buys 20 litres of fuel which it uses for every service.

According to him, while guests come and give bountiful offerings to God and receive large offerings, his members will remain poor if they continue to give small offerings.

The pastor who spoke in Igbo language berated them for not giving the Most High a reasonable sum of money.

In his words, “Shame to you that came to give God N100. That is why others who come here that give big money receive blessings while you as a member will remain poor because you give small money.”

“You stand up majestically to come and give God N100 and those of you who also give N20.”

  • Election 2020: Ignore prophets of election results – Rev Frimpong Manso

President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Rev Prof Paul Frimpong Manso has hit out at Men of God who make prophecies about election results.

Describing them as fake and false prophets, Rev Frimpong Manso admonished Mahama and Prof Jane Naana to ignore such persons since they only seek to prey on them and use them as milking cows.

“There has been a practice of people prophesying about elections. I want to say in no uncertain terms that these things are wrong, false and fake, and we should not bank our hopes on them.

“God has given the power to choose the leader through elections, campaigns, through the ballot box. If it will be through prophecies, there will not be the need for elections and campaigns and ballot boxes. Dear politicians these people can exploit you, they can create confusion and they will make things wrong,” he noted.

Typical of an election year, prophecies from different quarters have begun making declarations of candidates and parties that will win the elections ahead of the polls.

But the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council President is adamant these practices are uncalled for and should be disregarded since they only promote confusion.

He was addressing leadership of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) led by flag-bearer John Dramani Mahama after the ex-president paid a courtesy call on members of the Christian Council of Ghana and church leaders at the Assemblies of God Church to formally introduce Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to them.
