A crush of mine introduced me to Christ – Archbishop Agyinasare

Founder and Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, has revealed his journey to accepting Jesus Christ as his savior.

In an interview on Onua Maakye on January 17, the Archbishop shared that before his repentance, he engaged in deviant behaviors such as weed-smoking and womanizing.

Recalling his time as a teacher in Tamale, he mentioned being enamored with a lady who insisted he accompany her to church before considering his proposal. Despite being high on marijuana that night, he followed her to a Pentecost church.

“I was in Tamale as a pupil teacher, and my antics were many. When I made my intentions known to her, she told me she had a boyfriend named Jesus. She said if I allowed her to introduce me to her boyfriend, she would accept my proposal,” he recounted to the host, Captain Smart.

At that time, Archbishop Agyinasare was practicing Buddhism, considering the invitation as a joke. Nevertheless, he agreed to meet “that boy [Jesus].” The pivotal moment occurred during the church service that night, leading to a transformative experience.

“I only remember the preacher made an altar call, and I stepped forward. Since then, the power of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and lust broke from my life,” he narrated.

Archbishop Agyinasare shared that two weeks later, God spoke to him through a dream, instructing him to start his ministry. Despite skepticism from his father about the sudden change, the Archbishop attributes the transformation to the grace of God working miraculously in his life.

“I was in Tamale as a pupil teacher and my antics were many, so as a teacher, a parent requested for extra hours. So, when I got to the house, I met two ladies and I liked both ladies, but I wanted to be with one of them.

“When I made my intentions known to her, she told me she had a boyfriend and I asked who the boyfriend was and she said his name was Jesus and if you allow me introduce you to my boyfriend, then I will accept to be yours,” he recounted to the host, Captain Smart.

I stopped smoking, womanizing after I came to Christ – Agyinasare

The Founder of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, has candidly revealed his involvement in deviant behaviors during his formative years.

Recounting his past, he admitted to smoking cigarettes at the tender age of 11 and progressing to marijuana by the age of 12.

The Archbishop attributed this transition to the influence of senior students at St. Martins Secondary School in Nsawam in 1973, who often enlisted his help in lighting their cigarettes.

By the time he was 11, smoking cigarettes had become a habit, and at 12, he found himself smoking weed and experimenting with other drugs.

These behaviors almost led to his expulsion from school. Fortunately, he was allowed to take his O’ Level exams during his first term in Form Five.

Archbishop Agyinasare also disclosed how his womanizing tendencies prompted him to repent from his wayward behaviors. While working as a teacher in Tamale, he fell in love with a lady who insisted he accompany her to church before considering his proposal.

“Back then, those coming to secondary schools were from middle school either form 2, form 3 or form 4, so they were matured to be between the ages of 18-22 and some of them used to smoke and they would call me to light the cigarette and weed.

“By the time I was 11 years old and returning home, smoking cigarette was a habit. So, when I turned 12, I was smoking weed and abusing other drugs,” he said on Onua Maakye, Wednesday, January 17.

This, he explained, almost resulted in his expulsion from school.

“Then I was supposed to be sacked from school. Fortunately for me, I was in form five first term and had registered for O’ Level examinations, so the school allowed me to write my O’ Level exams.”

60 days and still counting: Agyinasare ‘mocks’ Nogokpo after ignoring 14-day ultimatum deadline

Founder of the Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare has once again mocked the 14-day ultimatum given to him by cult members of a shrine at Nogokpo.

During a sermon titled “Who Rules the Cosmic Realm: Dominating the Cosmic Realm,” the televangelist boldly proclaimed that as a child of God, the lesser gods have no power over him.

“That history can never be erased because it was done publicly. All the TV stations took it, social media took it that the gods of thunder and the ancestors will show Agyinasare who controls the cosmic realm and after 60 days we are still here,” Agyinasare said to a loud applause from congregants.

He confidently stated, “I am an example that if you are a child of God and they pour libation and they give you 14 days to live, after 60 days you will still be dancing,” as he danced joyfully in front of his congregants.

Archbishop Agyinasare further taunted Nogokpo by expressing that despite the threats and hullabaloo surrounding his comments about the revered thunder deity in the Volta Region town, he remains unharmed.

He emphasized that his divine mission is not yet complete, and he will live many more years to come.

In June, the chiefs and residents of Nogokpo issued the 14-day ultimatum to the Archbishop to engage in peace talks after he referred to Nogokpo as the “demonic headquarters of the Volta Region.”

However, he has not honored the ultimatums and continues to stand by his statements.

It’s worth noting that the paramount chief of the traditional area that encompasses Nogokpo has distanced himself from the ultimatum, stating that the comments were directed at the Nogokpo shrine, not the Nogokpo people.

He clarified that the shrine is called Gbakadza, not Nogokpo as some have misconstrued.

Nogokpo’s 14-day ultimatum to Agyinasare expires today

The 14-day ultimatum by Nogokpo demanding that the founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles appears before the committee expires today, Friday June 16, 2023.

On May 25, 2023 during the Supernatural Summit held at the Perez Chapel headquarters in Accra , Archbishop Agyinasare preached about divine protection and the existence of evil forces.

In his sermon, he cited several examples to support his teachings, including an incident where his team experienced spiritual attacks after hosting a crusade in the Volta Region. Agyinasare’s statement went viral, leading to criticism from sections of the public. In response, a press conference was held at the Royal Palace of the Dufia of Nogokpo, Torgbui Saba V.

The chiefs demanded the presence of Archbishop Agyinasare within the given period, accusing him of making derogatory statements about Nogokpo, referring to it as the “demonic headquarters of the Volta Region.”

The chiefs expressed their disappointment and called for a resolution to address the harm caused by Agyinasare’s remarks. They emphasized the historical significance of Nogokpo, highlighting how Ghana’s first President, Osagyfo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, sought divine assistance from the Thunder Deity, Torgbui Zakadza, during the struggle for independence.

With the ultimatum set to expire, it remains uncertain whether the Archbishop has complied with the order. In a subsequent sermon on May 28, 2023, Agyinasare clarified his statement and denied casting a slur on the people of Nogokpo and the Volta Region.

He explained that he was referring to a specific incident that occurred after a crusade in Aflao. Agyinasare expressed regret over the issues surrounding his statement and reaffirmed his commitment to serving Ghana as a “spiritual gatekeeper.”

He assured that his ministry has always spoken up during critical times in the nation’s history and that he remains dedicated to serving God’s people and the country.

During the past few days, the Archbishop has been in the United States, engaging in various activities, including a meeting with officials of the US President Joe Biden administration.

He expressed gratitude for the productive meeting and shared updates on his social media page. It is yet to be seen how the situation will unfold following the expiration of the ultimatum.

  • The spiritual gateway to Ghana is Nogokpo – Fiator of Nogokpo

The spiritual gateway to Ghana is Nogokpo – Fiator of Nogokpo

Nogokpo is and will remain the spiritual gateway to the country and no one can contest this, according to the Fiator of Nogokpo, Torgbui Agbodzalu Amuzu.

He noted that aside being the spiritual gateway to the country, the people of Nogokpo are very peaceful and very accommodating and generally a peaceful town devoid of crimes.

“Nogokpo remains the gateway to Ghana and no one can challenge that,” he said.

Agbodzalu Amuzu made this comment on the back of the Nogokpo and Archbishop Charles Agyinasare standoff.

He noted that the unfortunate comments by the Archbishop and other Christian and religious leaders are worrying and there’s the urgent need for the Archbishop to do the right thing and do it fast .

Torgui Agbodzalu Amuzu, who lamented about the misconceptions about the name Nogokpo, said Christians and those interested should avail themselves for clarifications and explanations about Nogokpo as a town and the shrine.

He noted that the Archbishop really offended and disrespected the people of Nogokpo and the entire region and must be humble enough to show remorse.

Torgbui Amuzu lamented about what exactly Christian leaders teach and impact on their congregants, especially the younger ones.

“I really don’t know what exactly these Christian leaders are teaching their members, especially the younger generation, and the religious studies in schools what exactly are school children learning?”

He noted that a lot has happened recently amidst the controversies that showed that a lot has to be done to remedy the situation, and all they want is for the Archbishop to do the needful.

Agbodzalu Amuzu said with regards to the one-week fasting and prayer and the unfortunate comments by some supporters of the Archbishop it is not necessary because no one at Nogokpo threatened the Archbishop in anyway.

“Who are they declaring the one week fasting and prayers for and the unfortunate comments by Nana Agradaa and some supporters of the Archbishop, what exactly do they want?” Agbodzalu Amuzu asked.

He said it is obvious that Christians are ready to fight and they the traditional leaders and the people of Nogokpo are tired of the disrespect.

Archbishop Agyinasare appeals to politicians to help fight corruption

Founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, wants politicians to be at the forefront of the fight against corruption.

He said the rate at which politicians are amassing wealth and how they fund campaigns, fighting against corruption will not end anytime soon.

According to him, it is important that politicians fight corruption because the country is fast sinking due to the rate of the act.

He made these comments during his address to the leadership of the NDC when they joined his congregation for a thanksgiving service on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
“It’s obvious the greatest enemy of this nation is corruption, but looking at the way political parties fund their activities and campaigns, our view is that we are not going to [win the] fight [against] corruption anytime soon.

Those political businesses who fund politicians end up hijacking the wealth of the nation. Politicians should help us fight this because our nation is sinking too fast, and we cannot continue in this direction,” Citinewsroom.coom quoted the founder and leader of the Perez Chapel International.

Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, National Chairman of the NDC, led the delegation to join the Christian community to thank God for helping the Party to have a successful congress late last year.

Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of the Party, Madam Shirley Ayittey, Second Vice Chairman, Mr Godwin Ako Gunn, Second Deputy National Communication Officer, Mr Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, Greater Accra Regional Chairman, and some NDC Members of Parliament (MPs) were at the service.
