Pierce Brosnan, formerly known for his role as James Bond, insists he did not make any mistakes when he approached danger too closely.
He was accused of going into a dangerous part of Yellowstone National Park where the water is very hot and can burn people.
The 70-year-old was supposed to go to court on January 23 for something that happened on November 1.
But a judge in Wyoming said he could have his court hearing online on 20 February.
A lawyer in Wyoming mentioned Brosnan for two possible violations of the law.
Someone got in trouble for walking where they weren’t supposed to in a hot area, and another person wandered into a hilly area with hot springs in Yellowstone.
Mammoth Terraces is a hot spring in the park that shoots water and mud into the air and the water can be as hot as 175F (79. 4C)
Though it can be risky, the area is also very sensitive. Fixing the springs can take a long time, maybe even years.
People who visit national parks must stay on the paths that are marked for walking. If they do not follow this rule, they can be punished with up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $5,000 (£3,946).
A photo of Brosnan making fun of tourists at Yellowstone was posted on Instagram. He was wearing sunglasses and a hat and standing by the snowy hot springs.
The famous actor is not the only person who went off the usual path to see the beauty of Yellowstone.
Every year, many people get severely burned at Yellowstone because they go to places they aren’t supposed to. The Associated Press reported this.
At least 22 people have died from getting burned by the park’s hot springs and geysers.
Brosnan was in Montana filming a Western movie called The Unholy Trinity, where he plays a sheriff with Samuel L. Jackson
Aside from his four James Bond movies, Brosnan was also in a TV show called Remington Steele in the 1980s. He is also famous for his roles in the movies Mrs. Doubtfire and The Thomas Crown Affair.
