2-year-old in Accra maimed by ‘wild’ dog undergoes successful plastic surgery

The two-year-old boy who was attacked by a dog in Accra has undergone successful surgery, according to Dr. Hope Glover Addy, a Pediatric Surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Addy explained that plastic surgery was performed at the anus, the affected area, and the stool was diverted to the abdomen to facilitate smooth passage.

The boy was attacked by a mixed shepherd-breed dog, resulting in the loss of part of his anus, flesh around the area, and his private parts, leaving him in critical condition.

Despite the success of the initial surgery, the toddler’s chances of survival will depend on the outcome of the final surgery, which is yet to be performed.

He said: “The boy is injured, part of the anus and the skin around the place have been chopped off so, we have diverted the stool from the anus to the abdomen.

“If the place clears up, we will remove the plastic surgery to see what we can do, whether to patch up the raw area, then after that we can think of subsequent surgeries… bringing another vault back to the anus.

“If he does not get any overwhelming infection, the place will heal normally…and with the anus, there are some muscles that enable one to control the passage of stools. If we test again and we realise that the muscles are not working very well, it means the child may not be able to control the amount of stool that would come out of the anus so he will just be walking and the stool will just be coming out, unless we find other procedures to help him not to soil himself,” he explained.

The paediatric surgeon said the injuries were severe, requiring intensive treatment, with significant financial burden on the parents.

“It is with deep sorrow and an immensely heavy broken heart that we have to share the most shattering, unfortunate and unexpected passing of our beautiful beloved daughter and sister Christina Ashten Gourkani….

“In the early morning hours at approximately 4.31am on 4/20/2023 our family received a tragic phone call from a family member who was frantically screaming and crying hysterically on the other end of the line … Ashten is dying … Ashten is dying … a phone call that instantly shattered our world and will forever haunt our family for the rest of our lives.

Many people expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased as they react to why people still undergo plastic surgery knowing the complications it comes with.

Model with multiple surgeries shares regret after breast burst (PHOTOS)

An Instagram model, Mary Sebastian Pickles Magdalene, who is widely known for her ‘bimbo look’ has shared her regret of undergoing surgeries to achieve her current look.

According to the Instagram model who is addicted to plastic surgeries, she now feels trapped. Mary Magdalene who also had surgery to enhance her v*gina has made a shocking confession that one of her breast implants burst.

In a series of posts shared on social media, she admitted that she wishes she never jumped on the plastic surgery bandwagon.

So sick of this surgery BS:( am trapped now for who knows how long … cuz u will get something done in hopes to “fix something but then the doctor could mess up… I am burnt the fuck out from this lifestyle I wish I never did it not worth all the time money stress my body can’t recover the same anymore,” her post read.

LUCKILY MY NEW SMALL BOOBS AND PUNANI LOOK GREAT… I WON’T BE REVEALING THE RESULTS FOR A WHILE UNTIL I AM RECOVERED MORE.

THE OTHER SURGERY I HAD WAS TO FIX ONE SIDE OF MY BUTT AND THATS WAT IM HAVING ISSUE WITH I HOPE IT IS JUST SWELLING I WILL GO INTO MORE DETAIL ABOUT THAT AS TIME GOES ON. THE DOCTOR AND THE NURSES HAVE BEEN GREAT SO IM NOT EVEN TALKING SHIT IT JUST THE SILICONE IS REACTING WILD

NOW I JUST HAVE TO DO A BUTT RECONSTRUCTION SO I CAN HAVE A NATURALISH LOOKING SIZE THEN DISSOLVE MY LIPS A BIT N AND ILL B GOOD- ILL BE FREEE FROM THIS SURGERY PRISON!!!!” she concluded.

A few minutes ago, Mary has come back to add that “I want to talk about what I mean when I say I feel trapped. You have to keep in mind that when you get a lot of surgery you’re more than likely going to have to have to keep getting surgery for who knows how long.

“For example: you got a nose job and it collapsed, you got a breast implant and it ruptures, you got a BBL and the left side bigger than the other so u have to go fix it, you Overfill your face but then you decide you want to go back natural so you have to dissolve which may take various sessions and then possibly you will be left with loose skin that you then have to fix,” she continued.

I loved the bimbo look but that is what has put me off from it it is just being stuck in repetitive never ending cycle of surgery which I no longer care for- it’s not a fun little adventure anymore it is just draining in every way possible- My time gets draimed, my bank account, my energy, my health”.

  • Japanese girl has been getting plastic surgery since 5th grade

A Japanese girl sparked controversy recently after revealing that she has been getting plastic surgery since 5th grade and that she has so far spent over 10 million yen ($72,000) to change her appearance.

Zirazyo_ is an up-and-coming Japanese influencer whose shot to fame came when she revealed that her current appearance is the result of plastic surgery. The young girl recently posted a TikTok video where she claims to have had her first cosmetic procedure in the 5th grade (10 or 11 years old), and that she has been altering her appearance ever since, spending over 10 million yen in the process. Zirazyo_ confessed that she has been struggling with criticism for her plastic surgery her entire life, but that she is fighting to break the stigma that plastic surgery is a negative thing.

When she was in third grade, Zirazyo_ used to tape or glue her eyelids to create the effect of a blepharoplasty, but when her mother told her that there was actually a procedure that would make the effect permanent, the young girl asked if she could go under the knife. She had the procedure in the 5th grade, and she loved the result, but her schoolmates started bullying her for it.

Zirazyo_ says that all through elementary school and junior high school, kids used to talk behind her back and laugh at her because of her plastic surgery, but she didn’t let it bother her too much and always told herself that they were just envious on her cute looks.

Speaking of cute looks, Zirazyo_ confessed that her younger sister’s natural cuteness played a big part in her decision to undergo various cosmetic procedures. She had always dreamed of being in the entertainment industry, but she wasn’t the cute one in the family, her sister was. She always received compliments on her looks and in middle school she was considered the cutest girl in school. But that all changed thanks to plastic surgery.

When she was in union high-school, she had never had a boyfriend and she was dealing with constant bullying. But after 3 cosmetic procedures, her appearance changed drastically and all of a sudden people’s opinions of her changed as well. Not only did it boost her self-esteem and confidence, but it also made it possible for people to discover who she was inside, instead of rejecting her because of her looks.

Zirazyo_ claims to have spent over 10 million yen on cosmetic procedures so far, and looking at her before-and-after pictures, it’s obvious that her appearance has changed pretty drastically. And despite turning to plastic surgery at a very young age, she doesn’t have any regrets. In fact, she considers herself somewhat of a plastic surgery ambassador.

Asked why she decided to reveal her plastic surgery transformation on social media,Zirazyo_ said that there is a perception in Japan that natural cuteness is good, but cuteness through plastic surgery is not. She is here to change that and tell the world how plastic surgery changed her life for the better.

At the same time, Zirazyo_ advises people to not compare themselves with others, if they want to keep their sanity, because social media these days can really make users depressed.

She acknowledges that plastic surgery can have a dark side and that some people can become addicted to cosmetic procedures.

  • Qualified US-trained Ghanaian medical doctor Dr Michael K. Obeng allegedly arrested

Dr Michael K. Obeng, a US-trained Ghanaian qualified medical doctor has been arrested for working without a valid licence from the Medical and Dental Council (MDC), Daily Graphic has reported.

According to the MDC, the surgeon was also soliciting for clients for media consultation in cosmetic surgery in a hotel; something which is against the professional expectation and the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act 2013 (Act 857).

According to the Daily Graphic report, the MDC became alarmed when a social media ad showing Dr. Obeng demanding $500 as a consultation fee from his clients popped up.

Dr Michael Obeng was arrested in a joint operation by the MDC and the Ghana Police Service where some suspected quack medical doctors and dentists were arrested in the Greater Accra, Bono and Central regions.

The operation led to the closure of seven health facilities where the suspects were operating. Some 12 fake dentists and six quack medical doctors are said to have attended to many people in their operational areas.

Dr Divine N. Banyubala, the acting Registrar of the MDC told the media on Tuesday, August 3, that the operation was part of routine investigations and complaints from the public.

He said the fake dentists were working with the Laser Smile Teeth Whitening Centre in the Greater Accra Region.

The arrest, Dr. Banyubala explained, followed a number of complaints from patients and practitioners about the suspects, who were operating in two facilities at Asylum Down and East Legon.

“We have been conducting routine quality assurance monitoring exercises aimed at ascertaining, among others, the registration status of practitioners and the standard of practice in various institutions across the country,” he said.

He added, “Investigations revealed that the suspects did not possess the technical competence nor the requisite licences to lawfully practise, but were found providing regulated dental services in the facilities, against the law.”

Dr Banyubala disclosed that the management of the centre had, following the closing down of the facilities, undertaken the needed steps to employ qualified dental practitioners to take over the provision of safe dental services, in accordance with health sector regulatory requirements.

The names of the quack doctors, according to the Daily Graphic report, were given as Osei Bonsu Hayford, who was arrested practising medicine illegally at the O.B. Saviour Clinic, located at Koraso, a suburb of Dormaa Ahenkro; Daniel Adjei, who operated at the Ohenewaa Memorial Clinic, Dormaa Ahenkro, and Prince Tutu, who operated at the St Kyeade Clinic, Dormaa-Babianiha, all in the Bono Region.

Others are Paul Amoanoo of the Royal Medi-Herb Clinic, Ashaiman-Zenu Atadeka in the Greater Accra Region, and Samuel Lanquaye Snr and his daughter, Alberta Lamiorkor, who was arrested in the Central Region.

Dr Banyubala further disclosed that one of them had been practising for 36 years, while the others were using forged certificates and licences, as well as Ghana Health Service (GHS) and Ministry of Health (MoH) receipts to perpetuate their illegal activities.
