  • Listen to Ghanaians and reshuffle non-performing ministers — Kofi Akpaloo tells Nana Addo

The founder and the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo, has appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reshuffle his non-performing ministers to help inject what he described as fresh energy into the administration.

He advised Nana Addo to shake up his government and reshuffle his appointees particularly non-performing ministers, deputy ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives as well as some CEOs of some state institutions to pave way for more competent and selfless hands to bring their expertise to bear on his administration.

He said that some ministers have been tolerated for far too long, and their continuous stay in office was distracting government business, adding that it was time to show them the exit, and give the opportunity to those who are ready and prepared to serve in the interest of the party and the government.

He cited the overwhelming thirst and request of the masses for his call stating that he believes that the call is in the right direction given the prevailing economic conditions in the country.

In an interview on Kumasi-based Hello FM, Kofi Akpaloo stressed that he believed that the President himself must have heard about the calls and that he should act on same.

He said: “There is an immediate need to make changes in his government because since 1992 we have not had successive governments ruling this country for almost 6 years without making ministerial changes.”

  • Why do you surround yourself with liars even though you are truthful? KKD descends on Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has come under fire from renowned broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, often known as KKD, for failing to keep his commitment to preserve the public coffers.

In an interview with GhanaWeb-reported Onua TV, KKD questioned why the president, who appears to have genuine intentions, has surrounded himself with really dishonest people.

The president, he continued, has also broken his vow not to use his office as a means of personal enrichment.

He says that this is happening because businesses owned by some of his appointees have seized control of all the rules applied by governmental institutions and are now benefitting themselves.

“Ghanaians are suffering, however despite what you warned us, why will you watch?
According to what you mentioned, there won’t be any theft, corruption, or graft in your administration.
According to what you said, no one will become wealthy under your administration.

“We believed you when you said these things, and we voted for you to become president. Why is it that you speak the truth, but you have surrounded yourself with people who tell lies, are thieves and corrupt to the core,” he said in Twi.

The broadcaster alleged that SIC is being collapsed by people with selfish interests.

“Enterprise Insurance is taking over the job of State Insurance and SIC. They are collapsing SIC so that they will enrich themselves. They want state institutions that belong to all of us to collapse so that they and their families will be the only people doing well,” he added.

  • Eddie Nartey urges Akufo-Addo to sit up as the economy has gone bad

Eddie Nartey, an actor and film producer, has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to help Ghana out of the economic crisis it is currently experiencing as a result of his administration, about which many Ghanaians are bitterly groaning.

Eddie asserts that even famous people who are considered to lead nice lives must contend with the high expense of living.

“We do not create money; rather, we all experience it.
No matter who you are—a doctor, an actress, the president—you will feel the effects of a rise in fuel prices.
We all pay the same amount to purchase it.

“It is not just me but I think everybody… When you do vote new people in government, you look for peace and things getting better and so that’s not what I expected but this is how things have taken turns to. It is crazy and bad, people are really complaining… There is so much inflation. Things have shot up,” he disclosed in an interview with Larry Bozzlz on CTV.

In his special message to Akufo-Addo, Eddie noted that the trust citizens had in the president is gradually declining, a reason he must fix the economy and ensure that the concerns of the people are addressed.

“Nana you really have to sit up and make sure the economy comes back to what it used to be because where things are going, people are complaining. Families are dying, things are really going bad. We are pleading with you, the ministers and the people who are in government to put in policies that are going to help the economy. Where we are heading to is too bad,” Eddie Nartey lamented.
