A message from Prince Harry ahead of his 40th birthday

Milestone birthdays often prompt moments of self-reflection, and Prince Harry seems to be in that contemplative space as he nears his 40th birthday this weekend.

The Duke of Sussex has released a statement to the BBC ahead of turning 40 on Sunday, September 15. In it, he has said he is “excited” about the milestone and that his children have given him a “fresh perspective.”

He also told the broadcaster that his mission to “continue showing up and doing good in the world” would continue whatever his age. “I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40,” the BBC quotes Prince Harry as saying.

Over the past decade, Prince Harry’s life has undergone a dramatic transformation. He transitioned from his military service and royal duties to stepping away from both roles to pursue a new direction.

Now 40, married with two children, Harry shared with the BBC that fatherhood has brought him a “new perspective” and is “one of life’s greatest joys.”

Though he seeks to keep Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, away from the media glare, Harry remains active in public life outside the monarchy.

The Invictus Games, which he launched in 2014 during his time as a royal, remains central to his efforts. Additionally, he and Meghan have established Archewell, their charitable organisation with a “simple” mission to “show up, do good.”

Since moving to the U.S., Prince Harry has been in the public eye, not only for his charitable efforts but also for his personal revelations.

His memoir Spare offered a candid look at his life, while a Netflix series explored his and Meghan Markle’s departure from royal duties.

Over the past few years, Harry has also been involved in multiple legal battles, including lawsuits against British tabloids and challenging the UK Home Office over his personal security arrangements.

  • Prince Harry’s request to add charges against Rupert Murdoch denied by London judge

Prince Harry’s request to add charges against Rupert Murdoch denied by London judge

Prince Harry sought to escalate his legal action against The Sun newspaper by implicating Rupert Murdoch and other leaders in the suppression and disposal of evidence pertaining to their unlawful conduct. However, a judge in London said he can’t do that.

Judge Timothy Fancourt made a decision in the High Court about one of Prince Harry’s privacy lawsuits against British tabloids. The ruling had some good and some bad parts for Prince Harry.

Fancourt said no to some changes Harry wanted to make, but he let the prince add more claims against journalists and private investigators who he says spied on him unfairly to get stories.

But Fancourt said accusations that Murdoch ignored wrongdoing did not add anything important to claims against News Group Newspapers, or NGN. The judge said that the claims already have people who are trusted by Murdoch, like his son James and Rebekah Brooks, who used to be an editor at News of the World and The Sun.

The judge said that Harry tried to blame other executives to promote a political agenda.

“The people in charge of the lawsuit want to target important issues or famous people for attention,” Fancourt wrote. The claimants’ team might want to blame the leader, but it won’t help in finding out what Ms. James Murdoch, and other important company leaders may have known and participated in the situation.

Brooks is the top boss of News UK, which is part of News Corp. They oversee The Sun and The Times newspapers, among others. James Murdoch quit his job at News Corp. In the year 2020.

Rupert Murdoch, who is 93 years old, was the top boss at News Corp. The person in charge of News International, now called News UK, was the parent company of NGN, which was in charge when News of the World closed down. Murdoch quit being in charge of Fox News and News Corp last autumn.

Both sides said they won in the decision before the trial next year, but Fancourt said it was a partial win with the defense getting an advantage on the issues they argued about.

The News Group said it was happy with the choice.

In 2011, the company said sorry to people whose voicemails were listened to by the News of the World. The newspaper shut down because of a scandal involving hacking into people’s phones. NGN stated that they have resolved 1,300 claims for their newspapers, even though The Sun has never admitted fault.

In March, there was a three-day hearing where people accused NGN of doing bad things, like actor Hugh Grant said The Sun listened to his phone calls, put bugs in his car, and broke into his home to spy on him.

After that, Grant said he agreed to take a lot of money to settle his lawsuit, even though he didn’t really want to.

Grant explained that he had to agree to a settlement because of a court rule that could have made him pay a lot of money for legal fees, even if he won the case in court. A court rule was trying to prevent the courts from getting too busy. It would have made Grant pay the legal fees for both sides if he won at trial but got less money than the settlement offer.

Lawyer David Sherborne thinks that Harry might have to reach an agreement for the same reason.

Harry has a similar lawsuit waiting to be heard against the owner of the Daily Mail.

He won his first trial case last year when Fancourt discovered that phone hacking was happening a lot at Mirror Group Newspapers. Besides the court decision, he resolved the remaining accusations, which also covered his lawyer’s expenses.

Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah recently made headlines as she joined the Prince of Wales, Prince Harry, and his wife, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle during their visit to Nigeria.

Meghan, who has expressed her Nigerian heritage with pride, found her time in Nigeria deeply insightful.

During a women’s leadership event in Abuja, she shared her journey of discovering her Nigerian roots and the admiration she holds for Nigerian women’s resilience and courage.

In a delightful turn of events, Jackie Appiah, filming in Nigeria at the time, had the opportunity to meet and exchange greetings with the royal family, adding an unexpected twist to the visit that captivated Ghanaians and beyond.

King Charles was too busy to see his son Prince Harry during UK trip

Prince Harry won’t get to see his dad, King Charles, because he’s too busy during Harry’s visit to Britain. Harry’s spokesperson said this on Tuesday.

Harry, who is 39 years old, has come back to the UK to go to some parties for the 10th birthday of the Invictus Games. These are sports games he started for soldiers who got hurt while serving in the military.

The king’s son, who is young, has only visited Britain a few times since he and his wife, Meghan, stopped being official royals in 2020. They moved to Los Angeles with their two children and now live there.

They are not close to the rest of the royal family anymore. Harry is not talking much with his older brother, Prince William, who will be king one day.

Harry’s most recent well-known visit was in February when he quickly visited his father after it was announced that the 75-year-old king had cancer.

It was rumored in the media that the two would get together on his recent trip, but a spokesperson for Prince Harry said it’s not going to happen.

The spokesperson said that the duke won’t be able to meet his father this week in the UK because his father is really busy.

“The duke understands that his father is busy with many important things and hopes to see him soon. “

Charles went back to work last week after being diagnosed with cancer. Buckingham Palace said they will take good care of the king’s diary to keep him healthy.

The palace said it won’t talk about anything to do with Harry.

On Tuesday, Harry went to several meetings related to the Invictus Games. He was in the British military and served in Afghanistan. On Wednesday, he will go to a special church service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. He will read something during the service.

After Harry leaves Britain, his wife Meghan will come and visit him in Nigeria.

Prince Harry and Meghan to visit Nigeria in May over Invictus Games

Prince Harry and Meghan are set to visit Nigeria in May to speak about the Invictus Games. The games help injured and ill soldiers and veterans recover. A Nigerian official announced this on Sunday.

A spokesman for the Nigerian defense didn’t say when Prince Harry will come to Africa, a place he loves. Harry is going to travel after a ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in London to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the games.

Last year, Nigeria took part in the games. Nigeria’s military has been fighting a dangerous war against Islamic extremists in the country’s northeast since 2009.

The Invictus Games were created by Harry in 2014, inspired by the Warrior Games in the United States. These games give injured veterans the opportunity to compete in sports like the Paralympics.

Harry flew Apache helicopters in Afghanistan and has supported veterans who need help.

He will do cultural things during his trip to Nigeria and also work on making Nigeria’s position in the games stronger. He will also talk about the chance of Nigeria hosting the event in the future. Gusau said this.

In his new Netflix show about the games, Harry said he didn’t get the help he needed when he came back from fighting in Afghanistan.

He said that coming back from Afghanistan in 2012 brought back feelings he had been hiding since his mother, Princess Diana, died when he was 12. These feelings are called post-traumatic stress disorder.

The prince, who has had many problems with his family, said they never talked about how Diana’s death affected him.

Prince Harry formally states he now resides in the United States

Prince Harry, the son of King Charles III and fifth in line to the British throne, has officially said he now lives in the US.

Four years after Harry and his wife Meghan Markle moved to a house in Southern California, a travel company he owns told British authorities this week that he now lives in the United States.

The official recognition shows that the prince is becoming more distant from Britain. He and Meghan left their royal responsibilities to make a lot of money from media deals in America. Since then, Harry has kept saying bad things about the royal family, like accusing them of being unconsciously racist in a Netflix series and in his own book, “Spare. ”

Travalyst Ltd, a company mostly owned by Harry and started in 2020 to promote sustainable tourism, submitted their paperwork to Companies House on Monday. This agency oversees the creation of UK companies.

The paperwork makes Harry even more separate from his job as part of the king’s advisors. These advisors can take over the king’s duties if he is sick or away.

Harry is still considered a counselor of state, but the crown told the UK Parliament that only working royal family members will actually take over for the monarch.

Harry and Meghan now live in a rich area called Montecito with their children. But people are also paying close attention to Harry’s move to the US.

The Heritage Foundation, a group that thinks conservatively, has spoken out against the Department of Homeland Security’s choice to give Harry a visa for the US, even though he admitted to using drugs in “Spare. ”

The foundation wants the department to show Harry’s immigration file to the judge. They think Harry may have lied on his visa application or got special treatment because people with a history of drug use are usually not allowed to get a visa.

  • Lawyers for Prince Harry attempting to involve Rupert Murdoch in UK court dispute

Lawyers for Prince Harry attempting to involve Rupert Murdoch in UK court dispute

Prince Harry’s lawyers and others are trying to change their lawsuit in London against Rupert Murdoch’s British tabloid newspapers. They want to say that the media mogul was part of a cover-up of bad behavior.

Harry and over 40 other people are taking legal action against News Group Newspapers (NGN) because they think the Sun and the News of the World invaded their privacy unlawfully from the mid-1990s to 2016.

Other people who are also claiming money include British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, actor Hugh Grant, and some former important politicians. Doreen Lawrence is also part of another case against the company that prints the Daily Mail newspaper, along with Harry.

The trial for the case against NGN will start in January and could last up to eight weeks.

On Wednesday, the claimants’ lawyers asked Judge Timothy Fancourt for permission to add new accusations to their case against NGN. They want to say that senior executives gave incorrect information to parliament and a public inquiry.

Murdoch, who is 93 years old, is accused of giving false information on purpose. Rebekah Brooks, the chief executive of News UK, is also accused of lying or giving misleading information during her trial in 2014.

The people making the claim said that Will Lewis, who used to work for News International and now works for the Washington Post, was also involved in hiding the truth.

A person from NGN said that the people making accusations against NGN staff are being dishonest and trying to harm their reputation.

“These claims are not about getting money for people who were victims of hacking or getting information illegally. Be very careful when thinking about them,” said the spokesperson.

NGN’s lawyers said the new accusations, which included 200 new journalists, executives, and private investigators, were not needed, too much, and not related.

“It is becoming more obvious that some people in the claimant group are using this document to campaign against tabloid newspapers,” said Anthony Hudson, the lawyer for NGN, in court.

Hudson said in legal documents that accusations against Brooks and others would make NGN have to redo criminal trials or investigate the investigation.

    Old accusations

In 2011, NGN said sorry for lots of journalists at the News of the World hacking phones. The owner, Murdoch, who was born in Australia, closed the newspaper because of the angry reaction.

NGN has solved over 1,300 complaints, but the group has always said that the staff at the Sun did not do anything wrong. Brooks, a person who used to be in charge of a newspaper, was found not guilty of hacking and other crimes after a long trial in 2014.

David Sherborne, the lawyer for Harry and the other people suing, said in court that both Murdoch and Brooks knew that the original statement from NGN, saying only one reporter was breaking the law, was not true.

Get all the important news about the Royal Family in one place.

They and other leaders were not honest when they made these statements because they knew they were not true at the time.

NGN’s Hudson said the changed claims were based on old documents, and in the past versions, Murdoch was only mentioned briefly with no accusations against him.

The people suing also said they want to use evidence from a former IT worker. They believe that Brooks’ computer hard drive was hidden and maybe broken on purpose in 2011 to hide her involvement in something wrong.

The court will listen to Harry’s request to change his case for the next two days. They will decide later if they can include the new accusations.

British minister permits Prince Harry to use details of inquiry in court

Britain’s media minister agreed to let lawyers representing Prince Harry, singer Elton John, and others in their lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail use documents submitted to a public inquiry.

In December, Harry and six other people were allowed to go to court to sue Associated Newspapers for hacking their phones and invading their privacy over the past 30 years. The publisher says the accusations are not true.

However the judge said they couldn’t use the payment records from ANL to private investigators without the government’s permission. These records were given to a public inquiry into press standards that finished in 2012.

Minister Lucy Frazer said on Friday that they have agreed to let these documents be shared.

She said that she doesn’t think it’s necessary to keep these documents private.

She said they would only be released for this case.

“This decision doesn’t say anything about the fairness of the case. That’s up to the courts to decide. ”

Harry has been part of many court cases at the High Court in London, and the ANL case is one of them.

Earlier this week, he tried to stop the British government from taking away his police protection when he is in Britain, but he lost. He said he will appeal the decision because he doesn’t think it’s fair. It was reported that he could have to pay about 1 million pounds (US$1. 26 million) in legal fees.

He took legal action against Mirror Group Newspapers for phone-hacking and other illegal activities and is also suing News Corp’s News Group Newspapers for getting confidential information about him and invading his privacy unlawfully.

Prince Harry chides Piers Morgan for keeping mute on hacked phone

Prince Harry has denounced Piers Morgan following the resolution of the remainder of the royal’s lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers.

The prince said the then-Daily Mirror editor “knew perfectly well what was going on” when the royal’s phone was hacked for stories written about him.

The prince’s attorney confirmed that the duke received “substantial” additional damages from MGN, which would also cover legal expenses.

Mirror Group expressed satisfaction with the agreement and aimed to “move forward from events that took place many years ago.”

In December, the prince secured victory in 15 claims during his case, with the High Court determining the “widespread and habitual” use of phone hacking at Mirror newspapers.

The prince was not present in court today, having returned to America this week after visiting his father King Charles following his cancer diagnosis.

Prince William and Harry unlikely to get together amid King Charles’ cancer treatment – Report

Prince Harry has returned to the U.K. following the news of his father King Charles‘ cancer diagnosis, but according to reports, his visit may not entail a reunion with his brother, Prince William.

The Duke of Sussex, aged 39, arrived at London Heathrow Airport on Tuesday and proceeded to Clarence House, the long-standing residence of King Charles, aged 75.

Reports suggest that the last time the father and son were together was during the monarch’s coronation ceremony in May, which Harry attended before swiftly departing for the airport immediately after the event.

Prince Harry undertook the journey solo from California, where he resides with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, 4-year-old son Prince Archie and 2-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet.

Despite Prince Harry’s meeting with King Charles on Tuesday, just one day after the public announcement of the monarch’s cancer diagnosis, a royal source has indicated that there are currently “no plans” for Prince Harry and Prince William to reunite.

Prince William, aged 41, has been occupied with numerous responsibilities of his own. In recent weeks, he has taken a step back from royal engagements to devote time to caring for his three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — while his wife, Kate Middleton, recuperates from her recent abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales, aged 42, is not expected to resume public duties until at least Easter, as previously stated by the palace.

The Prince of Wales is scheduled to resume public duties on Wednesday, beginning with an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle followed by the annual fundraising gala for the London Air Ambulance.

As the heir to the throne, Prince William may assume some responsibilities on behalf of his father in addition to his own roster of engagements in the upcoming weeks, according to sources familiar with the matter. However, there are currently no plans to appoint Counsellors of State to act on King Charles’ behalf. Counsellors of State are members of the royal family designated to carry out constitutional duties for the monarch in the event of his absence or incapacity. The current Counsellors of State include Queen Camilla, Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward.

While heirs in other royal families across the world may serve as regents when the monarch is indisposed or overseas, the situation in the U.K. differs. According to the House of Commons Library, regents are not permanently installed in Britain, and their appointment is restricted to specific circumstances.

  • Prince Harry leaves for London as his father, King Charles III, receives cancer diagnosis

Prince Harry leaves for London as his father, King Charles III, receives cancer diagnosis

Prince Harry went to visit his dad, King Charles III, at his house in London on Tuesday. This was reported by the British media. This was just one day after the king said that he has cancer.

The king’s youngest son was seen getting out of a car at Clarence House, which is near Buckingham Palace. He had just flown in from Los Angeles.

The two don’t get along well. Harry stopped working for the royal family in 2020 and went to live in California with his wife, Meghan. The king, who is 75 years old, has cancer. He is getting treatment for it. Royal officials said this on Monday.

The news surprised and surprised the whole country. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the illness was found quickly and everyone in the country is hoping for a fast recovery.

Buckingham Palace said on Monday evening that the King has started going to the hospital for treatment for a type of cancer that has not been told to the public. It was discovered while he was in the hospital for his enlarged prostate, but it’s not prostate cancer, the palace said.

“Good news, we found this problem early,” Sunak said on BBC radio. He also said that if he becomes prime minister, he will keep talking to him like usual.

“Many families across the country have experienced the same thing and they understand how important it is to everyone,” Sunak said. “We will support him and hope that he gets better as soon as possible. ”

Less than a year and a half since becoming king, the 75-year-old monarch has stopped appearing in public, but will keep doing his official duties, like meeting with the prime minister. He will not give up his role as head of the country.

The palace said that Charles, who is usually healthy, feels good about his treatment and wants to get back to work soon.

Charles became the new king in September 2022, after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away at the age of 96. She had been the queen for 70 years.

The king is sick and his daughter-in-law Kate, who is a princess, had surgery on her stomach and had to stay in the hospital for two weeks.

Kate is resting and taking a break from her royal work while she gets better. Her husband, Prince William, will be taking care of her and their three children. He is also going to attend a ceremony at Windsor Castle and a charity dinner on Wednesday because he is next in line to be king.

Charles did something different from what is usually done by royal people by talking openly about his prostate condition. For many years, the Royal Family kept quiet about their health.

Sharing a limited amount of information about his cancer diagnosis is also different from what is usually done.

The United Kingdom Monarchs had a lot of control, and they kept their illnesses a secret so people wouldn’t think they were not strong leaders. The royals kept being secretive even after they became more like symbols than rulers.

The British people didn’t know that Charles’ grandfather, King George VI, had lung cancer before he died in February 1952 at 56 years old. Some historians say that the king didn’t know he was very sick.

In the last years of Elizabeth’s life, the public was only told that the queen was having trouble moving around when she started to miss public events at the end of her life. The reason she died was because she was very old.

Public figures often struggle with deciding when and how much to talk about their illness. It’s a hard topic for them. The United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin didn’t tell President Joe Biden or other important people that he had prostate cancer and was in intensive care in January for complications after surgery.

Buckingham Palace said that the king has decided to tell people about his illness to stop them from wondering and in the hope that it might help others who are also affected by cancer.

Charles became king and wanted to have fewer senior royals doing ceremonial events for the country. However, with Charles and Kate both unable to work for a while, Prince Harry moved to California and Prince Andrew kept out of the public eye due to his connection to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the royal family faces the risk of having too much to handle.

William and Charles’ wife, Queen Camilla, will have to do more public events while the king is getting treated.

Currently, there are no plans for senior royals like the queen and the heir to the throne to take over the monarch’s duties, like signing laws and meeting with ambassadors.

  • Harry wins 15 lawsuits against Mirror Group Newspapers

Harry wins 15 lawsuits against Mirror Group Newspapers

Prince Harry won 15 arguments in his case against Mirror Group Newspapers for getting information in a wrong way for stories about him.

The judge agreed with him on almost half of the 33 stories he used in his claims of phone hacking and other methods.

The High Court discovered that the Mirror newspapers often and regularly used phone hacking.

Prince Harry said it was a really good day for telling the truth and being responsible.

He won £140,600 in money because of what happened to him. His lawyer said outside the court that the decision was good and supportive.

“This situation is not just about hacking. It’s also about a widespread pattern of illegal and terrible behavior, along with attempts to hide the truth and get rid of evidence. The extent of this wrongdoing can only be shown through the legal process,” he said.

“I was told that if you try to kill dragons, you will get hurt. ” Prince Harry said that even though it may be costly, it is important to do whatever is necessary to have a free and honest press.

He also asked the police and prosecutors to look into charging the company and anyone who has broken the law.

The Mirror newspapers – Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, and People – have also faced big consequences. It’s estimated that they have already spent £100m on fines and legal fees from past hacking cases.

MrJustice Fancourt said that the Mirror newspapers had regularly and commonly gathered information illegally.

Some of the articles that Prince Harry won were about his relationship with Chelsy Davy and the arguments they had.

Prince Harry has said that people are bothering his personal relationships and he won a case about a story called “Harry’s date with Gladiators star” which was about him going to see TV presenter Caroline Flack.

A spokesperson from Mirror Group Newspapers said they are happy with the court’s decision because it helps the company move on from something that happened a long time ago.

“We are really sorry for what happened in the past, and we have accepted our mistakes. We have also paid the right amount of money to make up for it. ”

The important decision comes after Prince Harry went to court in June. He was the first senior royal in modern times to give a lot of evidence in person.

He was questioned for two days about his claims that the group’s newspapers had published a lot of stories about him, for many years, by hacking into his phone and using other illegal ways to get information.

Mr Justice Fancourt found that Prince Harry had experienced some phone hacking and other dishonest ways of getting information, but it wasn’t a lot.

Prince Harry told the court that someone invaded his privacy and it hurt his relationships with people, like his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, and he received a lot of hate.

“He said that the media has lied to me and hidden the bad things for my entire life. ”

The lawyers for the Mirror Group said the claims were greatly exaggerated. They tried to argue that the prince’s evidence didn’t definitively prove that he was hacked even once, but they were not successful.

The prince has been given money as compensation, but he wanted to go to court to show that his phone was hacked and he was treated unfairly. This caused a lot of stress and trouble in his life.

Prince Harry’s success might inspire many others who are thinking about making similar claims.

Two people who brought claims with Prince Harry – Nikki Sanderson and Fiona Wightman – were told they waited too long.

The judge said that the whole newspaper group’s board didn’t know about the phone hacking. But he thinks that the former CEO and legal director knew about it.

MrJustice Fancourt said he believed journalist Omid Scobie’s evidence that Piers Morgan was told about phone hacking involving Kylie Minogue when he was the editor of the Daily Mirror.

Prince Harry is in a legal fight with Mirror Group, as well as with other newspaper companies like Associated Newspapers and News Group Newspapers.

He has been involved in a lot of legal battles and arguments, but this was the most important decision yet, because a judge made a decision after a full trial.

  • $1.2 million donated to charities by Prince Harry and Meghan

$1.2 million donated to charities by Prince Harry and Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan’s organization called Archewell gave $1. 2m (which is about £950,000) to charities this year, according to their report.

The foundation supported various projects, such as assisting Afghan women in the US and stopping false information, with the motto “Show up, do good”.

There was also support for a charity that Princess Diana made famous for helping people who work in mines.

US tax documents show that the amount of donations this year is the same as last year. Archewell now has more than $11 million in funds.

A lot has been written about this famous couple, but the report from the Archewell Foundation in 2023 and their tax information in 2022 show exactly how much money Prince Harry and Meghan made from their jobs in the United States.

Archewell was started by Prince Harry and Meghan when they left their royal duties and moved to the US. It has been running for three years and does charity work, as well as making movies and shows.

This year’s tax paperwork for 2022 shows that the foundation made donations of $1. 2 million This includes $100,000 given to the Halo Trust, a charity that clears mines and was previously backed by Princess Diana.

Prince Harry’s mom brought attention to the charity when she visited a project to clear landmines in Angola in 1997.

Prince Harry spoke to people from the Halo Trust who were helping in Ukraine after Russia invaded it.

Other projects that received funding were a “gender justice” project in Washington, a civil-rights charity, and a project that promotes responsible use of technology, which each received amounts of $200,000, $125,000, and $100,000 respectively.

Prince Harry and Meghan appeared in a video promoting the causes and campaigns they supported in 2023. They donated $1. 2 million, but the exact amount hasn’t been confirmed yet for this year’s taxes.

This project helps Afghan women settle down in the US and build stronger ties with their local communities.

Some people are helping a new organization that wants to stop fake news in places in the US where there are no local newspapers. These places are called “news deserts”.

Archewell started with $13 million and raised another $7 million in the next two years. It has also given away $5. 4 million in grants between 2021 and 2023.

The latest tax forms indicate that Prince Harry and Meghan don’t get paid from the charity, but they do pay over $640,000 annually to their staff.

Prince Harry to phone King Charles on his 75th birthday

King Charles is commemorating his 75th birthday with a business-as-usual approach, featuring the launch of a project aimed at assisting those facing food poverty.

As part of his birthday plans, the King will receive a transatlantic phone call from his younger son, Prince Harry.

The day’s activities will also include hosting a reception for NHS nurses and midwives, with ceremonial gun salutes scheduled at prominent locations, including the Tower of London.

Emphasizing public service over extravagant celebrations, the King’s engagements will focus on the launch of the Coronation Food Project. This initiative aims to address the dual challenge of rising food insecurity among people unable to afford essentials and the wastage of millions of tonnes of surplus food.

While there will be a private dinner for close family and friends, the gesture of a birthday phone call from Prince Harry is seen by some as a potential olive branch, especially amidst previous claims of no contact regarding the birthday plans.

Highlighting the campaign in an article in the Big Issue magazine, the King said: “Food need is as real and urgent a problem as food waste.”

The King told the magazine that “cost-of-living pressures” were resulting in “too many families and individuals missing out on nutritious meals”.

The Coronation Food Project seeks to establish distribution hubs that connect surplus food with food banks and charities, facilitating the distribution of food parcels to those in need.

“There are one in five people in this country that are suffering what charities call ‘food insecurity’ – to me, they’re ‘hungry’,” says Baroness Louise Casey, co-chair of the project.

“People are going without meals,” she says.

“There are one in five people in this country that are suffering what charities call ‘food insecurity’ – to me, they’re ‘hungry’,” says Baroness Louise Casey, co-chair of the project.

“People are going without meals,” she says.

On Tuesday evening, an animation promoting the Coronation Food Project will be showcased on the digital advertising hoardings at Piccadilly Circus in London.

The launch of a food-sharing project on the King’s birthday holds historical significance. When Prince Charles was born on November 14, 1948, post-war Britain still faced food rationing.

To mark the birth of Princess Elizabeth’s first child, a scheme was initiated to provide a gift food parcel to families with children born on the same day. Records from the National Archives indicate that over 2,600 gift parcels, containing items such as soap, butter, dried egg, honey, marmalade, bacon, and beef, were distributed during this era of austerity.

King Charles celebrated his 75th birthday by hosting a party at his residence, Highgrove in Gloucestershire, on Monday. He also commemorated the 75th anniversary of organizations, including the NHS, inviting 400 nurses and midwives to a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

In a symbolic move of maintaining an active role, King Charles rebranded his charities as the King’s Trust and King’s Foundation, deviating from the previous Prince’s Trust and Prince’s Foundation. His upcoming participation in the COP28 climate change summit in Dubai at the end of the month further reflects his commitment to ongoing engagement.

At the age of 75, King Charles now ranks as the sixth longest-lived British monarch, trailing behind Elizabeth II, Victoria, George III, Edward VIII, and George II.

Prince Harry declines invitation to attend father King Charles’ 75th birthday celebration

Prince Harry has been accused of saying no to an invitation to celebrate his dad, King Charles III’s, 75th birthday.

The King is going to have a special birthday next Tuesday. He will celebrate at Clarence House in London to celebrate this important day.

While his closest family and friends will be there, sources say the Duke of Sussex won’t be going.

This is very different from Charles’s 70th birthday because Harry and Meghan postponed their honeymoon to go to his garden party.

This time it seems like Harry has said no to hanging out with his dad because his book, Spare, made the Royal Family upset.

According to MailOnline, Harry has declined the opportunity to spend time with his father for a second time.

In September, he said no to the king’s invitation to go to Balmoral for Queen Elizabeth II’s death anniversary. He was in the UK at that time but went to a charity event instead.

Harry and Charles haven’t talked to each other in person since last September when they were mourning and attending the funeral for the late Queen.
Harry flew from California to the UK to go to King Charles‘s crowning ceremony in May. However, he only stayed there for a short time, less than a day, and quickly visited Buckingham Palace before going back to the US.

According to someone close to the royal family, Prince Harry did not receive any birthday greetings from his father or brother, Prince William, in September. Additionally, the Royal Family did not publicly acknowledge his or his daughter, Lilibet’s, birthdays like they did for other members of the royal family.

The official website of the Royal Family has taken off Harry’s HRH (His Royal Highness) title.

It is believed that Charles may not be contacting Harry because he is upset and disappointed about how Queen Camilla was portrayed in his book.

Earlier this year, someone on the inside said that Harry and Meghan will not create any TV shows or books about their family anymore to prevent causing any more distress to their family.

Prince Harry, in the Heart of Invictus documentary, indirectly expressed his dissatisfaction with his upbringing as a member of the royal family. He mentioned feeling alone and lacking assistance, stating that he did not have a support system to rely on. He also admitted to burying his past painful experiences.

  • Prince Harry reportedly ‘wants his old life back’; Meghan allegedly ‘frustrated’

Prince Harry reportedly ‘wants his old life back’; Meghan allegedly ‘frustrated’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may no longer be in alignment regarding their departure from the United Kingdom.

Recent reports suggest that the Duke of Sussex, who celebrated his 39th birthday last month, desires a return to his previous life, while the Duchess of Sussex, aged 42, appears content with their new life in Montecito, California.

Entertainment commentator Mark Boardman disclosed to Ok! that Prince Harry longs to reconnect with aspects of his former life and notably misses his estranged friends.

This year, he missed out on Jack Mann’s wedding, which is seen as an indication of his disconnection from friends in the United States, as he doesn’t view them as his close friends.

“London is where all of Harry’s real friends are. Everyone they know in Hollywood, they aren’t his friends,” Boardman said.

“Prince Harry’s social life has notably shifted over the past decade,” Boardman told the pub.

Boardman also pointed out that the situation is further complicated by Prince Harry being evicted from Frogmore Cottage and no longer possessing a residence in the United Kingdom.

“He appears to have distanced himself from his college friends and lacks a permanent U.K. residence,” he continued. “During his visits to London, he typically resides in hotels and avoids public appearances. Undoubtedly, Prince Harry longs for his old friendships.”

Nevertheless, as per Boardman’s account, the former Suits actress is less than enthusiastic about her husband’s sentiments regarding the United Kingdom, particularly as she believes it may not positively impact his public image.

Meghan is frustrated that Harry wants his old life back,” he claimed. “Meghan loves Harry, but she wants to bring out the better side in him. And she’s quite clear on the roles that they should take together and they are trying to work better together on projects. People are eager to witness a transformed Harry, rather than a return to his previous partying lifestyle, which could lead to undesirable media attention.”

Speaking of his pre-Meghan lifestyle, Boardman suggested that Prince Harry may want to return to the U.K. from time to time because of his “strong relationships with childhood friends,” although he doesn’t think his wife will be too happy with his suggestion of “a boys’ weekend in London meeting up with some old Eton buddies.” He added: “He’s young at heart but he’s got someone to keep him in check and remind him who he is and what he’s supposed to be doing.”

And according to Boardman, Meghan thinks that Prince Harry is “supposed” to be there for her and their two children – Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2. He said: “Ultimately, Meghan wants Harry to be by her side to support her, to look after the kids and to get his life back on track. And anything going backwards is going to take away from that.”

  • Prince Harry and Meghan react to Israel-Hamas conflict

Prince Harry and Meghan react to Israel-Hamas conflict

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle strongly disapprove of all acts of terrorism and brutality during the Israel-Hamas war.

Israel attacked Gaza with many airstrikes because members of Hamas, the armed group in control of Gaza, crossed over the border on Saturday morning.

Since then, Hamas fighters have killed many Israeli soldiers and civilians and kidnapped them. They are still attacking and taking control of southern Israel.

Paramedics in Gaza are having a hard time rescuing people stuck in the remains of hospitals, schools, and mosques that were damaged by airstrikes. At the same time, the blockade has become stricter, preventing food, water, and medicine from getting in.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex talked about the conflict for the first time in a statement that they shared on their Archwell Foundation website yesterday.

The message from The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is that they are against any acts of terrorism and cruelty.
We are helping our partners and organizations in Israel who are directly helping those in need. We want to assist all innocent victims who are experiencing a terrible amount of suffering.

The spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said that King Charles is very worried about the situation and wants to be constantly informed about it.

He is thinking and praying for all the people who are suffering, especially those who have lost loved ones. He is also thinking of those who are actively helping in the situation.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were very upset and disturbed by the aggressive fighting.
In an official statement posted on Kensington Palace’s social media platform, it was expressed that the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas on Israel was extremely terrible and completely condemned.

Israel is protecting itself, but both Israelis and Palestinians will still feel sad, scared, and angry in the future.

The royal couple said, ‘Even though people are suffering a lot, The Prince and Princess are still sharing hope without holding back. ‘

Yesterday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Hamas has caused the death of more than 1,300 individuals and hurt about 3,000 others. Around 150 Israelis, including civilians, have been taken by force.

Health officials in Gaza reported today that over 1,350 people have died and 6,000 have been injured. The United Nations says that 200,000 people in the strip have had to leave their homes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spotted at Beyonce’s concert

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, made a notable appearance at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour concert, held at California’s SoFi Stadium on September 1, as reported by The Independent.

The couple’s presence at the event swiftly generated widespread attention on social media, with fans of the royal duo sharing pictures from their outing.

One of the images, circulated on various platforms including X (formerly known as Twitter), captured Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, and a close friend, Abigail Spencer, accompanying the royal couple in a private box.

In line with Beyoncé’s request for her fans to wear silver attire for the performance, both Markle and Ragland were elegantly dressed in silver outfits, while Prince Harry complemented the color theme by donning a light grey blazer.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex initially crossed paths with the Grammy award-winning singer and her husband, Jay Z, at the London premiere of ‘The Lion King’ in 2019. Since then, their friendship has blossomed. Following the Sussexes’ widely-publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Beyonce reached out to Meghan Markle with a supportive text message. In the Netflix docu-series ‘Harry & Meghan,’ Markle shared part of Beyonce’s message with Prince Harry, conveying her desire for Markle to feel safe and protected. Beyonce also expressed admiration for Markle’s bravery and vulnerability, believing she was chosen to break generational curses in need of healing.

Recently, Meghan Markle celebrated her 42nd birthday in the company of friends. However, speculation about a potential divorce with Prince Harry emerged when a photo from the celebration was shared on a friend’s Instagram story. In the photo, Markle was not wearing her engagement ring, though she still had her wedding band on. This led to rumors and discussions about the couple’s relationship status.

  • Prince Harry prepares for showdown with The Sun publisher in court

Prince Harry prepares for showdown with The Sun publisher in court

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, is taking legal action against News Group Newspapers (NGN), the publisher of The Sun, over allegations of using illegal methods to gather information about him.

A judge has ruled that parts of Prince Harry’s claim can proceed, and the case may go to trial in the High Court next year. However, the judge dismissed his phone-hacking claims.

Prince Harry has accused journalists and private investigators working for The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World of employing unlawful methods to obtain information about him.

The ongoing legal battle revolves around the timing of when Prince Harry knew enough about the alleged methods used against him to bring the claim within the legal time limit.

NGN’s lawyers argue that Prince Harry waited too long to file the claim and should therefore have it dismissed.

However, Prince Harry previously revealed a “secret agreement” between Buckingham Palace and NGN that allegedly prevented him from taking legal action earlier.

He claimed that this agreement stipulated any privacy actions against the company should be delayed and then settled out of court, which is why he did not file the claim earlier.

Lawyers for NGN have previously disputed the existence of any secret agreement, describing it as “Alice in Wonderland stuff”.

Mr Justice Fancourt said Harry’s amended case submitted earlier this year – which was reliant on the existence of the “secret agreement” – did not “reach the necessary threshold of plausibility and cogency”.

He said emails between the Palace and NGN suggested there was “at some time an understanding” that the Royal Family’s claims “would be addressed informally” at a late date, but the “vague and limited” evidence provided by Harry’s lawyers did not amount to proof of Harry’s specific claims.

From 2012, the judge ruled, Harry was “on notice” that he may have been hacked after finding out about the practice at the News of the World.

The judge said Harry “could easily” have had his lawyers investigate further, at which point a “much fuller picture would have emerged”. The judge said the phone-hacking claim was therefore too late.

A spokesperson for NGN called the ruling a “significant victory” for the company.

They said: “The judge, Mr Justice Fancourt, found his claims in relation to the alleged ‘secret agreement’ were not plausible or credible.

    Hugh Grant arriving at court
Image caption,Hugh Grant is also taking legal action against NGN

“It is quite clear there was never any such agreement and it is only the Duke who has ever asserted there was.”

But the judge ruled that there should be a trial around other alleged methods used to get information about Harry, identified in the ruling as “blagging of confidential information from third parties, and instructing private investigators to do these or other unlawful acts”.

The judge said Harry had a “realistically arguable” case that he did not know enough about any use of the methods back in September 2013, the point at which NGN argue that his six-year window to bring a claim began.

Harry says he did not have enough information to bring a claim until 2018.

Thursday’s ruling does not take a position on whether Harry waited too long to bring a valid claim, only that “it is not sufficiently clear at this stage that it was issued too late” and should be decided at trial.

The trial could feature “many other” claimants, including actor Hugh Grant, and is due to start in January 2024, although could run into 2025.

Harry’s legal action against the Sun is one of three major claims he is making against the publishers of British tabloids.

He gave unprecedented testimony in court last month as part of his claim against the Mirror Group, and is also attempting to sue the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday over alleged breaches of privacy.

Prince Harry keeping mother’s legacy as he meets group of Princess Diana Award honorees

Prince Harry is carrying on the legacy of his late mother by actively participating in her work.

In a recent event, the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex pleasantly surprised a group of young people in California who were honored with the Diana Award, an organization dedicated to Princess Diana’s memory.

The event’s host, Vee Kativhu, recently shared a short film documenting the remarkable interactions that occurred during the Conversations for Change seminar. In her caption, she expressed the significance of the event and its impact on those involved.

“This conversation was so special and featured global Changemakers and also supporters of youth dotted around the room.”

“We touched on social media, social justice, inequality and how to combat burn out while advocating for the incredibly important topics that many of the youth around the table have dedicated their lives to,” she added on Instagram.

While the Conversations for Change meetings have taken place around the U.K. before, this was the first time the Diana Award had held an event in another country. Before the discussion kicked off in Los Angeles, Harry delighted four of this year’s Diana Award recipients by handing them their certificates.

“One of the things that struck me about even those four — even though they all do different things — was that their stories were really underpinned by the need for change,” Diana Award CEO Tessy Ojo, who was at the meeting, tells PEOPLE. “Driving change in inequality, particularly in education. This might be wanting to create better access to various forms of education. So it might be education around employability or education around or better healthcare.“

“Really incredibly, it amazes me how young these young people are and how big the issues they’re tackling are,” she adds.

“On one hand. I hugely applaud them,” Ojo continues. “I also recognize that it also demonstrates the need to pull them into networks much more so that they feel supported because they’re carrying huge, huge burdens.”

Harry’s California meeting took place as he and Prince William, 41, appeared in two separate videos for the annual Diana Awards in late June, just ahead of what would have been Diana’s 62nd birthday.

During this event, the princes appeared in two separate videos to honor 189 young changemakers from 31 countries.

On the day of the awards, William, 41, was introduced by former Diana Award Legacy Award winner Hannah Hodgson, who met the prince two years ago.

“The Prince of Wales praised her and the other young people for the “challenges they have overcome” to reach this point. “What unites them is their courage, compassion and a relentless dedication to improving the lives of others,” he said.

“Today, we recognize the power of all young people — the power to challenge the status quo, to confront injustice, and to inspire meaningful change.”

  • Spotify halts podcast deal with Harry and Meghan

Spotify halts podcast deal with Harry and Meghan

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have ended their podcast deal with Spotify.

In a joint statement, their company, Archewell Audio, and Spotify announced that they have mutually agreed to part ways and will not be renewing Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, for a second season.

The podcast deal, estimated to be worth $25 million, was one of the major commercial agreements the couple secured after stepping back from their royal duties and relocating to the United States in 2020.

Prince Harry expressed his hope that the podcasts would bring forward diverse perspectives and unheard voices.

Archetypes, which ran for 12 episodes from August 2022, featured Meghan engaging in conversations with influential figures like Serena Williams and Mariah Carey, focusing on the stereotypes faced by women.

The podcast garnered recognition and won the top podcast award at the People’s Choice Award in Los Angeles in December.

While the specific reasons for the termination of the Spotify deal have not been disclosed, both parties expressed pride in the series they created together. The end of this partnership marks a change in the couple’s podcasting endeavors.

At the time, Meghan wrote: “I loved digging my hands into the process, sitting up late at night in bed, working on the writing and creative.

“And I loved digging deep into meaningful conversation with my diverse and inspiring guests, laughing and learning with them. It has been such a labour of love.”

The Wall Street Journal quoted an Archewell spokeswoman as saying Meghan was “continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform”.

When the agreement with Spotify was first announced, it was billed as a relationship which would produce several series – but in the end, only one materialised.

American media reports suggest the royal couple failed to meet the productivity benchmark required by Spotify, and therefore wouldn’t be receiving the full value of the contract.

Since splitting from the royal family, Harry and Meghan have looked to capitalise on their global fame in order to become financially independent.

That has included a multi-million dollar content deal with Netflix, and Harry’s huge contract with Penguin Books, which has already produced his autobiography Spare.

It follows Spotify’s announcement last week that it was cutting 200 jobs in its podcast division after a period of heavy investment in the medium, saying it was embarking on a “strategic realignment”.

  • Prince Harry vs The Mirror Group: The last time a British royal testified in court

Prince Harry vs The Mirror Group: The last time a British royal testified in court

In a significant legal development, Prince Harry took to the witness stand in his lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mirror, marking the first instance in over a century that a senior member of the royal family testified in court.

The last known occurrence of a senior royal appearing as a witness dates back to the late 19th century. Prince Albert Edward, the eldest son of Queen Victoria and later known as King Edward VII, testified twice during that period.

One instance involved his divorce proceedings, where he refuted allegations of an affair. The second instance was in a slander case related to accusations of card cheating.

These events unfolded during the time when Prince Albert Edward held the title of the Prince of Wales. Notably, he is the great-grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II and Harry’s grandmother.

The following excerpts are taken from Associated Press stories from 1891, covering the scandal known as the baccarat scandal, wherein Sir William Gordon Cumming sued for slander after being accused of cheating at cards.

While the prince himself was not implicated in any wrongdoing, the plaintiff’s counsel attempted to use the case to scrutinize the prince’s behavior. The press at the time raised concerns that the growing controversy surrounding the prince could potentially pose a threat to the English monarchy.

LONDON, June 2 — At this stage a juryman caused a sensation by rising in his place and asking in a loud voice: “Are the jury to understand that you were banking on these two occasions and saw nothing of the alleged malpractice?”

The Prince hesitated for a moment, as if undecided as to whether he ought or ought not to reply. Finally, he said, with half a smile, “It is very easy for bankers when dealing cards not to see anything especially when in the company of friends in a country house; you do not for a moment suppose anyone would play unfairly.”

The juror asked: “What was your opinion at the time the charges were made against the plaintiff?”

To this the Prince casually replied: “The charges made against him were so unanimous that I had not any other course open to me than to believe them.”

The last answer caused another flutter of excitement, followed by a whispered comment. The jury apparently had succeeded in bringing out squarely and beyond any possible doubt the fact that the Prince of Wales, in view of the evidence that had been placed before him at Tranby Croft by the ladies and gentleman who had played baccarat with Sir Wm. Cumming on September 8th and 9th, had become convinced of the plaintiff’s guilt.

The Prince assented to this and his examination was concluded. He gave his evidence in a halting, hesitating manner and seemed to be very glad and exceedingly relieved when the examination was over.

    __

    LONDON, June 8

Sir Edward Clarke, as he uttered these last words, turned squarely around until he faced the Prince of Wales, upon whom every eye in the court was then fixed, and who nervously crossed his legs, while the audience was utterly aghast at what was considered to be the audacity of the solicitor general. In several directions the whispered comment: “Why, he is going to attack the Prince of Wales,” was distinctly heard and caused all attention to be riveted upon plaintiff’s counsel.

Continuing the solicitor-general remarked that Sir Charles Russell, for defendants, had said that “even if the jury found for plaintiff and disregarded the document the latter had signed at Tanbycroft, the military authorities would take the matter up, and that Sir William Gordon Cumming’s name would be stricken from the army list.”

“I wiSh to say in unmistakeable terms,” exclaimed Sir Edward Clarke, raising his voice until it rang tellingly through the court, “that it would be impossible for the authorities to do any such thing, and leave on that list the names of Field Marshal, the Prince of Wales, and General Owen Williams.”

This bold statement seemed to completely take away the breath of the audience, and caused by far the greatest sensation of the entire trial. A hushed murmur of astonishment, not unmixed with dismay and some irritation, swept over the court room. One must thoroughly understand the almost religious worship of royalty which prevails throughout Great Britain to clearly understand the full meaning of the crushing significance of the solicitor-general’s words, aimed directly at the heir apparent.

When the court adjourned for luncheon, the Prince of Wales hurriedly left his seat on the bench, and contrary to his usual habits of politeness, completely disregarded the humble courtesies of several dames seated in his immediate vicinity.

    ___

LONDON, June 12 — The storm rising around the Prince of Wales is fast growing in intensity, endangering his chances of succession to the throne if not the existence of the English monarchy. No class appears to be stirred so deeply as the great middle class, the real strength of the country and the hitherto solid prop of the monarchy. Whenever its voice becomes audible its earnest denunciations of the Prince are accompanied by regret at his nearness to the throne.

Representative gatherings of religious bodies, Congregational, Methodist, Baptist, Unitarian and Presbyterian, have already recorded their condemnation. Board of guardians are going out of their accustomed paths to discuss motions branding the gambling propensities of the Prince of Wales as a disgrace to the country. Several Liberal societies have adopted protests against his continuance in the Army.

A conference has been held at the War Office, attended by Secretary Stanhope, the Duke of Cambridge, Duke of Connaught, Gen. Redvero Buller and Col. Stracey, and it reported they decided that the Prince of Wales, Gen. Williams and Levett have committed no offense against military law, but only a technical breach of regulations.

Club sentiment naturally supports the Prince; nor has the scandal lessened the Prince’s popularity in turf sets. Rumors of his bad reception at Ascot are a perversion of facts.

Court circles are much exercised over letters from the German court reflecting the opinion of Emperor William. It is believed the Emperor has written the Queen a long and serious criticism on the Prince’s life and dilating especially upon gambling of officers as a grave offense to military honor, and made worse by the signing of a paper permitting a colonel of the Guards convicted of cheating to retain his commission in the army. The Queen, it is said, forwarded the letter to the Prince of Wales.

The court is now looking at a newspaper article from September 2007, reporting details of Prince Harry and his then girlfriend Chelsy Davy’s apparently troubled relationship.

“Prince Harry’s romance with Chelsy Davy is in crisis after a string of bitter bust-ups,” The People’s article exclaimed.

“Stunning Chelsy, 21, is said to be ‘furious and deeply upset’ with Harry after THREE monumental rows.”

In his written witness statement, the prince says: “I really cannot understand how the defendant’s journalists obtained such specific details for this article, however given what I know about [the reporter] Dean Rousewell’s activities, I find it very suspicious.

“I certainly wasn’t discussing our relationship in these kind of details with anyone inside the Palace.

“Given the hours I was working at the time, it’s likely Chelsy and I did exchange voicemails even more often than normal, so I now believe that this information must have come from the hacking of our voicemails.”

Prince Harry shares thoughts on Piers, Hewitt rumors, and govt in trial statement

Per Prince Harry, the actions of Piers Morgan and other journalists who are accused of listening in on his mother Princess Diana’s private messages make him “physically sick.”

He also enters into politics by asserting that he thinks the British Government has reached “rock bottom” in his explosive written testimony for his High Court trial.

With his attendance in London for a trial against the Mirror newspaper group, the Duke of Sussex has made legal history by becoming the first British royal to testify in court in 130 years.

In his written submission to the court, he details a life spent in the glare of tabloids and filled with paranoia over whether he could trust his friends, family or other people he was meeting.

Harry writes: ‘Every time I was getting off a plane or jumping in a car, I was looking in the rear-view mirror so to speak.

‘I came to expect to be followed and papped by someone hiding in a bush somewhere. Everything felt as though I was under 24-hour surveillance.’

Describing the process of the tabloid press reacting to a new member of the Royal Family, he writes: ‘You start off as a blank canvas while they work out what kind of person you are and what kind of problems and temptations you might have.

‘They then start to edge you towards playing the role or roles that suit them best and which sells as many newspapers as possible, especially if you are the “spare” to the “heir”.

‘You’re then either the “playboy prince”, the “failure”, the “drop out” or, in my case, the “thicko”, the “cheat”, the “underage drinker”, the “irresponsible drug taker”, the list goes on.’

Britain's Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, arrives to the Royal Courts of Justice, Britain's High Court, in central London on June 6, 2023. Prince Harry is expected to take the witness stand as part of claims against a British tabloid publisher, the latest in his legal battles with the press. Piers Morgan and the Press

The written evidence describes a series of newspaper stories published by newspapers in the Mirror group that the Duke believes could not have been written without the use of unlawful methods of information-gathering.

Claiming both he and Princess Diana were affected by the alleged activity, he says: ‘[T]he thought of Piers Morgan and his band of journalists earwigging into my mother’s private and sensitive messages […] makes me feel physically sick and even more determined to hold those responsible, including Mr Morgan, accountable for their vile and entirely unjustified behaviour.’

Later, he writes: ‘Unfortunately, as a consequence of me bringing my Mirror Group claim, both myself and my wife have been subjected to a barrage of horrific personal attacks and intimidation from Piers Morgan.’

The former Daily Mirror editor dramatically left Good Morning Britain after saying he did not believe Harry’s wife Meghan, when she spoke about the toll that being a working member of the Royal Family had taken on her mental health.

The written statement also makes reference to Harry’s friendship with the late TV presenter Caroline Flack, with him saying he was ‘shocked’ and ‘livid’ when photographers turned up to take pictures of the pair together ahead of a dinner party in 2009.

    James Hewitt and Princess Diana

In another section, he wonders about the motives of the press in writing about a supposed plot to steal his DNA to determine whether James Hewitt, rather than King Charles, was his real father.

He says: ‘Were the newspapers keen to put doubt into the minds of the public so I might be ousted from the Royal Family?’

The Duke says he only realised the timeline of Diana’s relationship in 2014, writing: ‘At the time of this article and others similar to it, I wasn’t actually aware that my mother hadn’t met Major Hewitt until after I was born.’

He adds: ‘At the time, when I was 18 years old and had lost my mother just six years earlier, stories such as this felt very damaging and very real to me.’

    British Government

Harry also makes an extraordinary comment on the current state of British politics, writing: ‘[A]t the moment, our country is judged globally by the state of our press and our government – both of which I believe are at rock bottom.’

He continues: ‘Democracy fails when your press fails to scrutinise and hold the government accountable, and instead choose to get into bed with them so they can ensure the status quo.’

A spokesman for the prime minister declined to comment on a ‘live legal case’, adding: ‘I think you have heard repeatedly from the prime minister on the state of the country and his priorities, but I am not going to get drawn into commenting specifically on that.’

Andrew Green KC, the lawyer for Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), asked Harry in court about part of his statement in which he states: ‘How much more blood will stain their typing fingers before someone can put a stop to this madness.’

Mr Green asked if the Duke meant ‘blood on their hands’ in relation to a specific article, and further asked him what he meant by it.

Harry said: ‘Some of the editors and journalists that are responsible for causing a lot of pain, upset and in some cases, speaking personally, death.’

His historic testimony was originally due to take place yesterday, but the Duke’s barrister David Sherborne explained he was unable to turn up due to a late flight back from the US.

Mr Sherborne said the Duke flew to England on Sunday night as he had spent the day celebrating his daughter Lilibet’s second birthday.

The judge hearing the case, Mr Justice Fancourt, said he was ‘a little surprised’ and was visibly frustrated by the no-show, according to The Telegraph.

Mr Green said he had planned to question the Duke for a day and a half but that may not be possible due to his absence on Monday.

Harry is suing MGN for damages, claiming journalists at its titles were linked to methods including phone hacking, ‘blagging’ or gaining information by deception, and the use of private investigators for unlawful activities.

He is one of four claimants in the trial.

Mr Sherborne spent the day in court yesterday describing the extent to which his client’s personal life was allegedly invaded by journalists from MGN titles.

He said the suggestion there was only one example of unlawful information gathering was ‘plainly implausible’, and highlighted some of the 33 newspaper articles that form the Duke’s claim.

Many of the stories relate to Harry’s love life, particularly his on-off relationship with Chelsea Davy between 2004 and 2010.

Mr Sherborne argued Harry was ‘little more than a child’ when the stories about him and Chelsea were at their peak, adding: ‘It was as if they were never alone.’

However, Mr Green responded by saying the Duke’s legal team were not able to establish that MGN journalists hacked its client’s phone.

He said: ‘There is simply no evidence capable of supporting the finding that the Duke of Sussex was hacked, still less on a habitual basis.’

Describing Harry’s case as ‘fantastical’, he argued that there is no data demonstrating his phone had been called for hacking, and that police have never suggested Harry was a victim of hacking despite investigating the Mirror group.

  • Prince Harry mounts witness box in High Court hacking trial

Prince Harry mounts witness box in High Court hacking trial

Prince Harry has taken the stand at the High Court, offering evidence against the publisher of the Daily Mirror.

This marks the first instance since the 19th century that a royal has testified in court.

As he appeared in court, Prince Harry’s witness statement was released, in which he stated that the decision to relocate to California was primarily driven by the “constant intrusion” he and his family faced.

He further revealed that the intense media scrutiny had a profound negative impact on their mental health and overall well-being.

Accusing Mirror Group Newspapers, the prince alleges that the publication employed illicit methods such as phone hacking to obtain stories.

He is sworn in, promising to “almighty God” to tell “the truth, the whole truth”.

The prince has a full day of evidence ahead of him.

Prince Harry’s witness statement has been provided to some media houses such as the BBC.

He starts by saying his decision to move to California with his wife Meghan Markle was “in large part… due to the constant intrusion, inciting of hatred and harassment by the tabloid press into every aspect of our private lives, which had a devastating impact on our mental health and wellbeing.

“We were also very concerned for the security and safety of our son.”

Prince Harry’s witness statement goes on: “It is no secret that I have had, and continue to have, a very difficult relationship with the tabloid press in the UK.

“In my experience as a member of the Royal Family, each of us gets cast into a specific role by the tabloid press.

“You start off as a blank canvas while they work out what kind of person you are and what kind of problems and temptations you might have.

“They then start to edge you towards playing the role or roles that suit them best and which sells as many newspapers as possible.”

Prince Harry’s witness statement goes on: “As a teenager and in my early twenties, I ended up feeling as though I was playing up to a lot of the headlines and stereotypes that they wanted to pin on me mainly because I thought that, if they are printing this rubbish about me and people were believing it, I may as well ‘do the crime’, so to speak.

“It was a downward spiral, whereby the tabloids would constantly try and coax me, a ‘damaged’ young man, into doing something stupid that would make a good story and sell lots of newspapers.

“Looking back on it now, such behaviour on their part is utterly vile.”

The lawyer representing Mirror Group Newspapers is now questioning Prince Harry.

Andrew Green KC starts by referencing the publisher’s apology to him – heard previously in court – for one instance of unlawful activity.

The court previously heard a private investigator was instructed by a Mirror Group Newspaper journalist at The People to unlawfully gather information about Prince Harry’s activities at the Chinawhite nightclub on one night in February 2004.

The article is not one of the claims being brought by the prince.

Green tells the prince he will be entitled to a “more extensive apology” if the judge finds the newspaper group were responsible for further acts of unlawful information gathering.

This story will be updated as and when…

Barrister roasted in court over Harry’s absence from trial

The judge in Prince Harry‘s case against the Mirror organisation chastised his attorney for failing to appear in court.

This morning, when the Duke of Sussex’s solo lawsuit against the Daily Mirror publisher got underway, he was anticipated to show up in the High Court.

Harry won’t appear until Tuesday, according to his attorney David Sherborne, when a barrister for Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) is likely to interrogate him.

Mr Sherborne said Harry flew to England from the US late on Sunday night as he had spent the day celebrating his daughter Lilibet’s second birthday.

He added Harry is ‘obviously in a different category’ to other witnesses due to his travel and security arrangements, The Telegraph reports.

The judge hearing the case, Mr Justice Fancourt, appeared visibly irritated but said diplomatically that he was ‘a little surprised’ the duke wouldn’t be attending.

Mr Justice Fancourt previously said witnesses should be available the day before their evidence was due to be heard.

Andrew Green KC, representing MGN, said he was ‘deeply troubled’ that Harry wouldn’t be attending before Tuesday, which could lead to ‘wasted time’ this afternoon.

Mr Green described the move as ‘extraordinary’ and said he wanted to spend at least a day and a half cross-examining the prince.

Harry is suing MGN for damages, claiming journalists at its titles were linked to methods including phone backing, ‘blagging’ or gaining information by deception, and the use of private investigators for unlawful activities.

His claim is being heard alongside three others.

  • Harry fails in second Home Office legal case

Harry fails in second Home Office legal case

The legal dispute between Prince Harry and the Home Office about his safety while in the UK has been resolved.

Nearly two years ago, the Duke of Sussex filed a petition for judicial review in the High Court after his right to armed security was restricted after he resigned from his royal duties.

He objected to the judgement that he shouldn’t even be able to pay for it privately.

At a hearing earlier this month, a judge was asked by his lawyers to allow him to bring a case over the decisions.

But the High Court have today ruled that the prince could not also seek a judicial review over whether to let him pay for the specialist police officers out of his own pocket.

The Home Office said the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) considered it was ‘not appropriate’ for wealthy people to ‘buy’ protective security, which might include armed officers, when it had decided that ‘the public interest does not warrant’ someone receiving such protection on a publicly-funded basis.

Lawyers for the Met Police said Ravec had been ‘reasonable’ in finding ‘it is wrong for a policing body to place officers in harm’s way upon payment of a fee by a private individual’.

Mr Justice Chamberlain refused Harry permission to bring the second challenge, rejecting on a number of grounds.

The court was told at the earlier hearing that his latest legal challenge was related to an earlier claim he brought against the Home Office after he was told he would no longer be given the ‘same degree’ of personal protective security when visiting the UK.

A full hearing in that challenge, which also focuses on Ravec’s decision-making and for which Harry was given the go-ahead last summer, is yet to be held.

Tuesday’s ruling comes amid an ongoing High Court trial involving the duke, in which he is bringing a contested claim against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over allegations of unlawful information gathering.

Harry is also waiting for rulings over whether similar cases against publishers Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) and News Group Newspapers (NGN) can go ahead.

A judgment is also expected in the duke’s libel claim against ANL – publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday – over an article on his case against the Home Office.

  • Prince Harry leases a room at secret location to spend some time alone

Prince Harry leases a room at secret location to spend some time alone

It has been disclosed that Prince Harry reportedly spends time alone at a five-star hotel close to his residence in California.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly has a room reserved at a chain hotel in Montecito, close to the $12.6 million property he and Meghan Markle share.

The newspaper was informed by sources that Harry occasionally remains in the room alone.

Reports that the royal couple spend some nights apart have emerged after they failed to post any photos commemorating their fifth wedding anniversary on Friday.

Harry is also thought to have a second hideaway pad at San Vicente Bungalows, a private members club in Los Angeles, near where he attends a gym class called Barry’s Bootcamp.

The club is highly exclusive and maintains a strict privacy policy

Guests are prohibited from discussing anything that takes place on the premises, with stickers placed over their phone cameras upon arrival, as well as from approaching other members indoors.

Annual membership fees reportedly run in excess of £3,200. Applicants are apparently vetted by a panel that’s thought to include American actress Julia Roberts

Harry and Meghan have repeatedly insisted on their right to privacy after breaking ties with the royal family and moving to the US.

Recently, the royal couple made headlines after they were subjected to a ‘near catastrophic’ car chase at the hands of local paparazzi in New York, which they claimed involved two ‘near misses’.

Many have commented the episode bears a reminder to the events preceding the death of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, who was killed in a car crash in Paris while being pursued by the paparazzi in 1997.

However, the taxi driver who gave the royal couple a ride has since claimed they weren’t in fact being chased by photographers.

Asked about the incident, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, apparently under the impression that the alleged chase had taken place in the UK, said: ‘My job as prime minister is to ensure everyone feels safe in our country.’

Being informed that the incident had actually occurred across the Atlantic, he added: ‘Cars in New York are not really my priority or my responsibility.’

How Prince Harry and Meghan escaped a near fatal ‘paparazzi car chase’ with a Taxi

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle narrowly escaped a harrowing encounter with paparazzi in what has been described by their spokesperson as a “near catastrophic” car chase. The incident, which evoked chilling memories for Prince Harry, unfolded on Tuesday night as the couple left an award ceremony attended by Meghan’s mother, accompanied by police officers.

According to reports, the relentless pursuit by paparazzi began after the couple entered an SUV, triggering a high-speed chase that lasted over two hours. The dangerous chase posed a grave risk, resulting in multiple near collisions involving other motorists, pedestrians, and even two NYPD officers.

In a daring move to evade their pursuers, the SUV eventually pulled over, and Prince Harry, Meghan, and her mother swiftly disembarked, hailing a New York taxi to make their escape. In a bid to outsmart the relentless paparazzi, the police officers took a different route from the cab, attempting to confuse their pursuers.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the paparazzi, traveling in a fleet of blacked-out vehicles, brazenly violated traffic laws, including driving on sidewalks, running red lights, and even driving against the flow of one-way streets.

The incident undoubtedly triggered painful memories for Prince Harry, as it harkened back to the tragic fate that befell his mother, Princess Diana. In 1997, Princess Diana lost her life in a devastating car crash while being pursued by paparazzi in Paris. The heart-wrenching image of a young Harry, then only twelve years old, and his elder brother, fifteen-year-old Prince William, silently following their mother’s casket, remains etched in the public’s collective memory.

The disturbing encounter with the paparazzi serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Prince Harry and Meghan in navigating public life under the relentless scrutiny of the media. It highlights the need for heightened awareness and measures to protect their safety and well-being as they strive to carve out a more private existence away from the intense spotlight that follows their every move.

  • Prince Harry and Meghan in ‘catastrophic chase’ that resulted in near multiple collisions

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were involved in a “near catastrophic” car crash in New York.

According to a spokesman for the Sussexes, the pair plus Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland were in New York on Tuesday when they were pursued by paparazzi.

They had just attended the Ms Foundation Women of Vision Awards in the city when its claimed the incident occurred.

According to reports, the trio left the awards at around 10pm on Tuesday night (12 noon Wednesday AEST) and were then followed by around 12 paparazzi.

The New York Post has reported that a cameraman hit a car and another almost ran over a police officer.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers,” a spokesman said.

“While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.

“Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice that is dangerous to all in involved.”

The spokesman said the couple were “extremely upset and shaken,” according to the New York Post.

He added that the crash was “near catastrophic”.

In a bone-chilling incident reminiscent of Princess Diana’s tragic fate, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves in a harrowing encounter with paparazzi on Tuesday night, resulting in what has been described by their representatives as a “near catastrophic car chase”.

The Duke’s mother-in-law, Doria Ragland, who joined Harry and Meghan at the Women of Vision Awards, held at the city’s Ziegfeld Ballroom nearly suffered the same fate.

The “highly aggressive paparazzi” for over two hours subjected the family to “a near catastrophic car chase.”

This according to the couple’s spokesperson “resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”

Harry and Meghan who feel more estranged from the Royal Family believe that despite the fact that “being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.”

Detailing how the lives of Harry and Meghan were saved, the source said a NYPD protective team followed Harry and Meghan in another car, and they had to try some evasive maneuvers to get away from the paparazzi.

There were a lot of close calls including short stops between front and backs of cars – but there was no car accident.

The late Princess of Wales, Princess Diana died in 1997 after suffering internal injuries resulting from a high-speed car crash in Paris.

In the couple’s Netflix six-part docuseries Harry pushed back against critics who have said they’ve “got such a problem with paparazzi.”

“Back in my mum’s day, it was physical harassment – cameras in your face, following you, chasing you,” he explained.

“Paparazzi still harass people,” he added. “But the harassment really exists more online now. Once the photographs are out and the stories then put next to it, then comes the social media harassment. To see another woman in my life, who I love, go through this feeding frenzy – that’s hard. It is basically the hunter versus the prey.”

Harry sat in third row with Beatrice and Eugenie for the coronation

At today’s coronation, Prince Harry was seated in the third row with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

Along with his relatives, the Duke of Sussex will be seated between Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank and Princess Alexandra.

Working senior royals like Prince William and Kate, Prince Edward and Sophie, and their kids are given priority seating in the front row.

Harry arrived yesterday by plane from California for the coronation, but he will likely return quickly in time for his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

A royal insider told The Sun: ‘There were discussions that the seating could be arranged on line of succession.’

But the source said this would have put Harry front and centre with William and Kate because he is fifth in line to the throne.

‘Instead the decision was working royals only at the front and work back from there. Harry will be a long way from his dad,’ they confirmed.

Prince Harry is there for his dad’s big day.

Harry is expected to arrive for the coronation at 10.35am alongside other non-working royals.

On a surprise walkabout yesterday afternoon Kate revealed some insight into how they are feeling ahead of the big day.

She told royal fans outside Buckingham Palace: ‘Yeah, we’re all good. Hopefully a bit like swans — relatively calm on the outside, but paddling on the inside.’

Talking about how her children are feeling, Kate said: ‘They are really well, thank you. Excited, a bit nervous obviously with the big day ahead. They can’t wait.’

She added: ‘It’s going to be long. Are you tired? It is long hours for everybody, isn’t it? It’s a really great moment. A celebration as well. We have an early start but I think everyone has.’

At the walkabout yesterday Charles was joined by Kate and William to greet people on the packed out Mall.

Cheers erupted as the royals stepped out to ‘three cheers for the King’ and ‘God save the King’.

Buckingham Palace confirmed neither Harry or Prince Andrew will have any formal role at today’s coronation.

This morning more than 5,000 soldiers and members of the armed forces got off the train at Waterloo and marched to the coronation.

It is believed to be the biggest movement of military staff on Britain’s railways since Sir Winston Churchill’s funeral in 1965.

Why is Prince Harry not in a regal robe or military uniform at the coronation?

The King and Queen have arrived at Westminster Abbey for King Charles III’s coronation after leaving Buckingham Palace.

Members of the Royal Family, including Anne, Princess Royal, and Prince Edward, the recently anointed Duke of Edinburgh, took their seats before to their arrival.

While several royals were dressed in traditional regalia, Prince Harry was wearing a regular suit.

    So, why is this?

Why isn’t Prince Harry wearing a military uniform today?

Prince Harry now wears civilian dress at official events – such as the morning suit he is wearing at today’s coronation.

It is tradition for working royals to wear military attire at relevant events – like what Prince Edward and Princess Anne were wearing.

However, The Duke of Sussex is no longer a working member of the Royal Family.

Harry and wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex famously left ‘The Firm’ in 2020 in a split dubbed ‘Megxit.’ They quit their duties as working royals and moved to California, followed by a series of public tiffs with the Royal Family, including allegations of racism made in the Oprah Winfrey interview and Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare.

They no longer work on behalf of the monarch or hold royal patronages.

Harry is still allowed to wear medals he earned during his time in the military.

Harry ‘delayed coronation invite due to disagreement about seating arrangement’

The sitting arrangement caused Prince Harry to take his time responding to his coronation invitation.

According to sources who spoke to the Daily Mail, there was ‘transatlantic ping pong’ going on between Buckingham Palace and the Duke of Sussex on the matter.

According to a source who spoke to the publication, Harry’s side was eager to learn what the seating arrangement at the Abbey is, probably because they wanted to rubber-stamp it.

There has been much back and forth on who Harry and Meghan would seat behind if they attended. And who would be behind them.

Another source added: ‘This is true. There has been a lot of questions on detail for the Abbey.’

Harry reportedly had a list of questions for the palace and ‘assurances’ about what would happen if he did attend.

Front row seats at the coronation will be reserved for working members of the royal family, with Harry expected to play no part in the official procession.

But one insider suggested he could be given a more prominent position now wife Meghan Markle has confirmed she is not attending.

Meghan opted to stay at the couple’s California mansion with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Archie turns four on the day of the King’s coronation – which is likely why Harry is attending alone.

At the Queen’s platinum jubilee, Harry and Meghan were sat on the other side of the nave from Charles, Camilla, William and Kate.

The couple were shown to their seats without fanfare even before reports of the rift between family members grew stronger.

At the Queen’s funeral Harry and Meghan were then seated in a corner at the end of the second row.

There had been hopes the coronation would be a time of reconciliation but members of the royal family are reportedly not prepared to forgive Harry and Meghan yet.

Many are still said to be enraged about Prince Harry’s detailed book Spare which focused on the inside lives of the Firm.

William and Charles have had little dialogue if any with Harry since the Queen’s funeral.

Ahead of the coronation, it has been revealed Meghan received an invitation but Prince Andrew’s ex Sarah Ferguson has reportedly been left off the guest list.

Fergie, while invited to the Queen’s funeral, will only join the royals at a private gathering after its conclusion, despite disgraced Andrew being allowed to attend.

Buckingham Palace and Harry’s representatives have been contacted for comment.

Along with the couple’s two kids, the Duchess of Sussex will stay in the United States.

Their son Archie’s fourth birthday and the coronation both fall on the same day.

According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry will attend the coronation of the King while Meghan will stay in California with their kids.

In a statement, it said: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

Harry, who revealed his troubled relationship with the royal family in his controversial Netflix documentary and autobiography Spare, will be there to witness Charles and his stepmother the Queen Consort be crowned in Westminster Abbey on 6 May.

The news ends months of speculation about whether the couple would show up to the King’s big day, but will undoubtedly see Meghan accused of snubbing the monarch and the royal family.

The date of the coronation is also Archie’s fourth birthday.

In Harry’s controversial ghost-written memoir, he admitted to regular drug-taking and laid bare his frustrations with his family.

He claimed his brother William, now the Prince of Wales, had knocked him to the floor after calling the Duchess of Sussex “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.

The duke claimed his father, now the King, put his own interests above Harry’s and was jealous of Meghan and Kate, and that the Queen Consort sacrificed him on “her personal PR altar”.

Archewell, Harry and Meghan’s charitable foundation, issued a near identical statement to Buckingham Palace confirming the duke will join guests at the coronation.

A spokesperson said: “The Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

Copies of Prince Harry’s memoir stained with Afghan blood go on sale

Copies of Prince Harry’s memoir smeared with the blood of Afghan people are set to go on sale – with a five-figure price tag.

Artist Andrei Molodkin says he has covered 25 copies of Spare with human blood, which he will put on display at a shop in Windsor today.

It comes after the Russian anti-war artist projected a sculpture filled with blood on to St Paul’s Cathedral in London, in a protest over the Duke of Sussex‘s remarks about his number of kills in Afghanistan.

Artist Andrei Molodkin says he has smeared 25 copies of Prince Harry's memoir with blood donated by Afghans

Molodkin said some of the blood donated for the artwork has now been used to create his “alternative Spare” books, which will be available to buy from 2 May – four days before the King’s coronation – for $10,000 (£8,000) each.

The artist says any money raised from the sale will be donated to Afghan charities.

In a statement about his latest stunt – called “Blood Money” – Molodkin said: “Prince Harry boasts of killing Taliban like they’re baddies in a video game, ‘otherising’ human life then cashing in on the sorry tale to sell books about his drug binging, sexual exploits and killing conquests.”

After going on display in Windsor on Saturday, a spokesman for Molodkin said the blood-covered books will be available to buy at a/political, an arts organisation in Kennington, London, on 2 May.

Harry faced criticism for revealing in his memoir that he killed 25 Taliban fighters while serving with the British Army in Afghanistan. He wrote that it “wasn’t a number that gave me any satisfaction… but neither was it a number that made me feel ashamed”.

The prince also admitted that he did not think of those he killed as “people”, but instead as “chess pieces” that had been taken off the board.

He wrote: “While in the heat and fog of combat, I didn’t think of those 25 as people. You can’t kill people if you think of them as people. You can’t really harm people if you think of them as people. They were chess pieces removed from the board, Bads taken away before they could kill Goods.”

Prince Harry and Meghan are “on the brink” of revealing their plans for the Coronation

A decision regarding whether or not they will attend the King’s coronation next month is reportedly “on the verge” of being made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex is reportedly set to finalize his arrangements for the ceremony but still has “a lot of uncertainties about how the occasion will work.”

The event, which will see Charles take the throne on May 6, is presently being finalized at Buckingham Palace. It will take place in Westminster Abbey.

But despite the deadline for RSVPs reportedly passing on Monday, it is understood the Sussexes have yet to tell palace aides if they will be flying in from California for the service.

The Duke of Sussex still has ‘a lot of questions about how the event will work’ (Picture: Getty)

‘There have been lengthy discussions between the Sussexes and the palace,’ a source told the New York Post.

‘There is a time crunch on this, of course. It is such a historical event and it’s hoped that Harry and Meghan will be there.’

Another source added: ‘All families are difficult, but this is no normal family, of course.

‘Harry has a lot of questions about how the event will work.’

However, now that President Biden has informed Charles he will not be attending the ceremony and will be sending his wife Jill instead, the Sussexes are expected to reveal their plans within the next few days.

A source told The Times: ‘I hear they are going to confirm their plans soon, particularly now that Biden has.’

If Harry and Meghan do attend the service, they will not take part in the Coronation procession afterwards nor join senior royals on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, it was previously reported.

The deadline for RSVPs to the ceremony passed on Monday (Picture: Getty)

Instead Prince William will be the only royal liege at the ceremony, and only he will kneel to ‘pay homage’ to the King, before touching the crown and kissing his father’s cheek.

The action is usually performed by all the royal dukes, but Charles scrapped the traditional obligation, effectively absolving Prince Harry of any ceremonial duties.

Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie, aged three, and one-year-old Lilibet, are too young to perform roles in the ceremony. They have reportedly not been invited to the event.

But although Harry is likely to attend in some capacity, not all royals are looking forward to his appearance.

Last month, a royal source said: ‘There have been discussions among the family, including Edward and Anne.

‘They do not want private conversations at the coronation making it into the paperback edition of Spare.’

  • Prince Harry discloses his drug use to US officials while requesting a visa

Prince Harry discloses his drug use to US officials while requesting a visa

It was reported last night that Prince Harry did inform officials of his former drug use when he asked for a visa to reside in California.

The following question must be answered with a “yes” or “no” while applying for a US visa: “Are you or have you ever been a drug abuser or addict?”

In his best-selling book, Spare, Harry previously acknowledged using several recreational substances, such as cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms.

The admission led to conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation to use Freedom of Information laws in the US to find out who let the Duke into the country.

Prince Harry was sent to meet residents at a rehabilitation centre when Prince Charles discovered he had been experimenting with cannabis and alcohol
Harry opened up about his drug use in his memoir, Spare (Picture: Getty)

Under US law, an admission of drug use usually results in a person being denied entry to the States.

But sources close to the Duke of Sussex have insisted that the royal told officials the truth when submitting his application, the Telegraph reports.

The Heritage Foundation has since called for Harry’s visa application to be made public so the American taxpayer can understand whether he was being honest about declaring his drug use.

They have called on the Prince to be ‘totally transparent’ in his response and have issued a deadline of April 12.

Mike Howell, director of the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, said: ‘This request is in the public interest in light of the potential revocation of Prince Harry’s visa for illicit substance use and further questions regarding the Prince’s drug use and whether he was properly vetted before entering the United States’.

A ban is sometimes overturned following an in-person interview at a US consulate or official immigration office, where a waiver can be issued.

Samuel Dewey, a lawyer acting for America’s Heritage Foundation in its FoI case, said: ‘One condition of a waiver in the case of someone who has admitted drug use could be that the person has to check back with the medical examiner, so that there is some sort of follow-up.

‘But we just don’t know how Prince Harry has been treated and that is why we are asking these questions.’

Reports in the US have suggested Harry was admitted on an ‘O’ visa – given to people of extraordinary ability.

The Heritage Foundation argues if immigration officials did know about the royal’s drug use, Harry’s case raises questions over whether he was given special treatment because he is a prince and his wife is a TV star, which they insist would be illegal.

In response to the Foundation’s calls, a US State Department spokesman said: ‘Visa records are confidential under Section 222(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA); therefore, we cannot discuss the details of individual visa cases.’

Representatives of Prince Harry have been reached for comment.

  • Sex toy advertisement making fun of Prince Harry’s book being banned in some places

Sex toy advertisement making fun of Prince Harry’s book being banned in some places

A sex toy advertisement that made fun of Prince Harry‘s autobiography was prohibited for showing up in places where kids might see it.

The digital billboard advertisement for Lovehoney had a picture of a ball gag and big writing that read, “Silence is golden, Harry.”

The link to the page where “replacement ball gags are available at” was displayed in smaller font below.

On February 8, it was on exhibit at Clapham Junction train station in London.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received one complaint that the ad was offensive and inappropriate for display in an untargeted medium where it could be seen by children.

Lovehoney said they did not believe the ad was inappropriate for untargeted display because a ball gag had no explicit sexual reference and children would not recognise it as a sex toy.

The retailer explained that the ad was created in response to the release of Harry’s memoir, which they pointed out contained ‘a number of indiscreet revelations, some of which had a sexual reference’.

Lovehoney said the advert made the point that ‘not all family stories needed to be shared’ (Picture: PA)

At the time the ad was published, Lovehoney issued a press release saying it ‘was meant to be humorous and that not all family stories needed to be shared with the public’.

The ASA said it understood that some people would find the ad ‘distasteful’ but believed that it was unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence.

However, it found that the image of a ball gag and references to the toy in the text were inappropriate for children to see.

The agency said: ‘We considered that while younger children were likely to be unaware of what the item was, older children might have greater awareness of what the object was intended for.

‘We therefore considered that the ad was inappropriate for outdoor display where it could be seen by children.

‘We concluded that the ad had been irresponsibly targeted.’

Harry released his book Spare on January 10, when he shocked Brits with multiple revelations.

These included the story of how he lost his virginity to an older woman and anecdotes about times he had done cocaine and psychedelics.

  • Prince Harry attends the hearing for Associated Newspapers in the High Court

Prince Harry attends the hearing for Associated Newspapers in the High Court

As the legal process in a privacy case gets underway, the Duke of Sussex unexpectedly showed up at the High Court.

The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday publishers, Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL), are being sued by Prince Harry and others.

Among those who claim improper information gathering are the duke, Sir Elton John, Sadie Frost, and Liz Hurley, among others.

The allegations have been labelled as “preposterous smears” by the publisher.

A four-day preliminary High Court hearing in London, starting on Monday, will consider legal arguments and a judge will decide whether the case will go any further. ANL is bidding to end the claims.

Prince Harry’s appearance will be seen by many as a sign of his strength of feeling over his privacy and determination regarding the legal action.

Others taking part in the legal action include Sir Elton’s husband David Furnish, and Doreen Lawrence, the mother of Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in a racist attack in 1993.

The group launched the legal action last year after becoming aware of “compelling and highly distressing evidence that they have been the victims of abhorrent criminal activity and gross breaches of privacy” by ANL, according to a statement by law firm Hamlins released in October 2022.

Court proceedings began with a bid by ANL’s lawyers to have certain reporting restrictions imposed in the case.

The Duke of Sussex sat towards the back of the courtroom, occasionally taking notes in a small black notebook as legal arguments were made by ANL’s barrister Catrin Evans KC.

Frost sat two seats away from Harry in the courtroom.

Image caption,Actress Sadie Frost also appeared on Monday, and sat two seats away from Harry in the courtroom

When the legal action was announced in October, law firm Hamlins, which is representing Prince Harry and Frost, alleged that ANL’s activity included:

    • “The hiring of private investigators to secretly place listening devices inside people’s cars and homes
    • “The commissioning of individuals to surreptitiously listen into and record people’s live, private telephone calls whilst they were taking place
    • “The payment of police officials, with corrupt links to private investigators, for inside, sensitive information
    • “The impersonation of individuals to obtain medical information from private hospitals, clinics, and treatment centres by deception
    • “The accessing of bank accounts, credit histories and financial transactions through illicit means and manipulation”

In a statement released at the time, the newspaper group said: “We utterly and unambiguously refute these preposterous smears which appear to be nothing more than a pre-planned and orchestrated attempt to drag the Mail titles into the phone hacking scandal concerning articles up to 30 years old.

“These unsubstantiated and highly defamatory claims – based on no credible evidence – appear to be simply a fishing expedition by claimants and their lawyers, some of whom have already pursued cases elsewhere.”

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, arrives at the High Court in London, Britain March 27, 2023

The duke’s appearance on Monday is believed to be the first time he has been back in the UK since the late Queen’s funeral in September.

His surprise return comes nearly three months after he publicised his troubled relationship with his father the King and brother the Prince of Wales in his controversial autobiography Spare.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also released a Netflix documentary in December, titled Harry & Meghan.

The King was due to be away on Monday on the first official state visit of his reign, but the trip to France was cancelled due to rioting over pension reforms.

He is due to leave for a state visit to Germany on Wednesday morning. Buckingham Palace said he was not in Windsor or London on Monday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been asked to vacate their UK home, Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate, in a move sanctioned by the King.

The duke is also taking legal action against the Home Office over security arrangements when he is in the UK, raising questions about his own security provisions during this visit.

  • Did the Princess of Wales violate royal protocol?

Did the Princess of Wales violate royal protocol?

King Charles III and senior royals attended a service at Westminster Abbey earlier this week to observe Commonwealth Day and honor the 56 nations that make up the international organization, despite the blustery weather.

The King’s speech at the abbey focused on this year’s celebration’s theme, “Forging a Sustainable and Peaceful Common Future,” while the service represented the broad Commonwealth community (more on that later in the newsletter).

Brianna Fruean, a young Samoan environmental advocate and a previous recipient of a Commonwealth Youth Award, read a reflection, while Muslim, Sikh and Jewish representatives also gave readings. There were several musical performances, including from the National Ballet of Rwanda, Cyprus’ all-female Amalgamation Choir and British saxophonist YolanDa Brown.

But it was a moment at the start of the festivities that sparked conversation among royal-watchers.

As the Windsors made small talk before the service, several eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Princess of Wales didn’t curtsy to her father-in-law.

It is fairly well known that royal protocol directs members of the Firm to bow or curtsy to the sovereign and their spouse in recognition of their roles as the most senior members of the family.

Kate’s sister-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, touched upon the convention in the Netflix docu-series with Prince Harry, released back in November. Meghan admitted her surprise at finding out that they practice the formality behind palace walls as well as in public.

In episode 2, Meghan recalled starting “to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside” adding how “that was surprising to me.”

Recalling her first encounter with the Queen, Meghan said: “I didn’t know I was going to meet her until moments before. We were in the car and we were going to Royal Lodge for lunch and (Harry’s) like, ‘oh my grandmother’s here, she’s going to be there after church,’ and I remember we’re in the car, driving up and he’s like ‘you know how to curtsy, right?’ And I just thought it was a joke.”

Harry added: “How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother? And that you will need to curtsy – especially to an American – that’s weird.”

While we’re briefly on a tangent, one common misconception is that royals have to bow or curtsy to more senior members of the family depending on rank. But that’s not actually the case. Other than to the monarch, the royals generally greet each other using the same guidance offered to the general public which states that there are “no obligatory codes of behaviour” but that “many people wish to observe the traditional forms.” Basically meaning it’s up to the individual who can choose to bow or curtsy if they would like to.

But getting back to Kate. The princess has often been praised over the years for her elegance while adhering to royal etiquette, so many were left confused about why she appeared to breach protocol at the Commonwealth event.

There could be a couple of reasons. One might be that she’s still adjusting to her father-in-law’s new role. Another, perhaps more likely, rationale may be that members of the royal family only need to greet the monarch formally upon their first meeting that day. While the King and Queen Consort arrived in a separate car to Prince William and Kate, it’s entirely possible they could have gathered ahead of the service and, as such, the Princess of Wales wouldn’t have been expected to curtsy again. Either way, the King appeared unperturbed and remained focused on the service – the first of his new reign.

The King received a rather splendid gift this week: A black mare called Noble. Charles was given the horse by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), renowned for their famous Musical Ride – a showcase of their cavalry’s equestrian prowess. The RCMP have a long association with the royal family: They took part in the Queen’s coronation in 1953, and gave her several horses during her reign. Noble has been a standout in the RCMP’s recent displays, noted for her athleticism and poise, even in raucous environments. The 7-year-old horse is now settling into her new life at the Royal Mews in Windsor.

Prince William features in Red Nose Day short film.

The Prince of Wales will appear in a video appeal for the UK’s Red Nose Day on Friday. Prince William sat down with Miles and Nawshin from Groundswell, a homelessness charity supported by Comic Relief. The pair are volunteer reporters with the organization’s Listen Up! podcast project, which allows individuals to share their perspectives and experiences of homelessness and explore how society can help. The issue of homelessness has become a priority in William’s public work and Nawshin said his involvement was “amazing.” She added: “I hope it means we can change the narrative for the better, and Prince William can use his influence to get real policy changes.” Check out a clip of the discussion here.

    King knights Queen guitarist.

The legendary rock guitarist Brian May received a knighthood from King Charles III. May, 75, was a founding member of the band Queen, and will now be known as Sir Brian, following the investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. He was one of more than 1,000 people recognized in the King’s first New Year’s honors list, and received the title of Knight Bachelor for his services to music and to charity. In addition to performing with Queen for more than half a century, May is also an astrophysicist. He received his PhD from Imperial College London in 2007 – having taken a break from his studies in the 1970s to focus on the band. “Arise, Sir Brian,” the band’s official Twitter account said, congratulating him for the award. One of the world’s most famous – and controversial – gems will be part of a new exhibition at the Tower of London exploring the origins of Britain’s crown jewels. The Koh-i-Noor diamond, which was seized from India while the country was under British rule, will be displayed as a “symbol of conquest,” a Tower of London representative told CNN Thursday.

The exhibit will explore the precious stone’s conflict-filled history. For her own coronation this summer, Queen Consort Camilla has chosen not to wear the diamond, which faced fresh calls of repatriation by India following the late Queen’s death last year. The exhibition will open May 26. Find out more here.

Harry received approval from Charles to use the names Archie and Lili

In a “secret meeting,” King Charles reportedly told Prince Harry he would be able to confer the titles of prince and princess on his children.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first used the term “princess” last Friday at the baptism of their 21-month-old daughter Lilibet.

‘I can report that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3, by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev. John Taylor,’ Harry and Meghan’s formal statement about the occasion read.

The use of royal titles for Lilibet and Archie, three, have technically been allowed since the Queen died in September, under rules set out more than a century ago by King George V.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the royal website ‘will now be updated in due course’ – though they’re both currently still listed as plain master and miss on the line of succession.

A royal source told the Daily Mirror: ‘The appropriate conversations have taken place ahead (of Lilibet’s christening).’

It’s understood that Harry and Meghan will now refer to their children using their royal titles of princess and prince in formal settings.

The couple hopes to give their children the chance to decide whether they want to keep or drop the titles.

They will also be able to use HRH stylings if they choose to.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, also known as Lili, was christened in Montecito last Friday (Picture: PA)

In a statement given by their spokesman, Harry and Meghan described the option as a ‘birthright’.

He said: ‘The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch.

‘This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.’

According to People magazine, around 25 attended Lilibet’s christening, including Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, Lilbet’s godfather, Tyler Perry and an unnamed godmother.

Right Reverend John Harvey Taylor, who carried out the baptism at the couple’s home in Montecito, California, was a former newspaper reporter and chief of staff for ex-US president Richard Nixon.

Another phone-hacking controversy, which will go to trial later this year, centers on Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex’s action against Mirror Group Newspapers will be heard in a High Court trial with the estate of the late singer George Michael, retired footballer Ian Wright, and actor Ricky Tomlinson. Former Girls Aloud member Cheryl will also be there.

Four or five ‘representative’ applicants were picked as ‘test cases’ during a hearing in London today.

Judge Timothy Fancourt ruled today that his case, which claims illegal information gathering on behalf of MGN journalists between 1996 and 2010, should be one of them.

Los Angeles, CA - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex' Netflix show titled Harry & Meghan, will air on Thursday 8th of December and three more episodes will air on the 15th of December, after the bombshell trailer revealing hints of fresh attacks on the Royal Family and with the Duchess seen sobbing. He stressed it was an ‘obvious selection’ because his claim covers an large period of time and 24 private investigators.

The court heard that Harry claims that some 148 articles published in the 14 years included information that was allegedly obtained through unlawful means.

    Latest London news

David Sherborne, a lawyer representing him, said he would be ‘the only witness’ relied upon in his case.

This raises the prospect of Harry travelling to the UK and entering the witness box to give evidence.

Expecting to last for six to seven weeks, the trial is scheduled to begin on May 9, coinciding with celebrations for King Charles’ Coronation.

Other claimants selected for trial are ex Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson, comedian Paul Whitehouse’s ex-wife Fiona Wightman and actor Michael Turner.

MGN is contesting their claims, arguing that some have been brought too late.

The publisher of titles including The Mirror, The Sunday Mirror and The Sunday People, MGN has previously settled a number of claims against it in relation to unlawful information gathering, as has News Group Newspapers (NGN) – the publisher of the now-defunct News Of The World and The Sun – in a separate ongoing legal action.

Harry’s case against MGN, launched in 2019, is one of several he is currently bringing against British newspapers.

Harry and Meghan speak after King Charles kicks them out of Royal House

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have acknowledged that they have been ordered to “vacate” their Windsor Castle residence.

According to reports today, a day following the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare, King Charles III ordered the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to vacate Frogmore Cottage.

The spokeswoman for Harry and Meghan stated this evening that the couple had received a “request” to vacate their residence.

We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been asked to leave their home at Frogmore Cottage, the official added.

This means the couple will no longer have their last remaining home in the UK.

It comes after Omid Scobie, one of the authors behind the Harry and Meghan biography Finding Freedom, claimed the couple were told the home was needed for ‘someone else’.

Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the Royal Firm plummeted to an ‘all-time low’ after Harry’s emotional and embittered memoir was released.

Writing for Yahoo, Scobie said: ‘It’s news, sources tell me, that has left Harry and Meghan stunned, and at least two members of the Royal Family “appalled”.’

He claimed the Sussexes have until the King’s Coronation in May to leave the home – a ‘clear sign of just how sour relations’ have become.

Their belongings will be shipped to their home in Montecito, California, it is understood.

It has been reported that the property has been offered to Prince Andrew, the disgraced Duke of York accused of raping a woman three times.

Spare was released in January and became the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever.

He and Meghan moved away from the monarchy in 2020 as they felt increasingly isolated within Windsor Castle and targeted too frequently by the British press.

Since then, Harry said his family have shown little interest in extending an olive branch.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph last month, Harry acknowledged that his family would find it hard to forgive him after he split from royal life.

He said: ‘Some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway.

‘But the way I see it is, I’m willing to forgive you for everything you’ve done.’

When Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, was published in January, it quickly became the fastest-selling nonfiction book in UK history, selling more than 3.2 million copies in only one week.

But is it really any surprise given that the novel was jam-packed with some incredibly sensual confessions and yet more shocking revelations about the royal family (such as Prince Harry describing the day he lost his virginity in a field outside a bar)? And if rumors that the Duke of Sussex is adding another chapter are to be believed, we might be in for much more.

“Prince Harry is already planning to add at least one new chapter… to the paperback version… out later this year or early next, when the hardcover sales have ended,” a source told Page Six, adding that: “Readers are eager to know [Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle’s] feelings about the royal backlash they have suffered after the airing of their Netflix doc, and the publication of Spare.”

The hardback edition of Spare was released by Penguin Random House on 10 January, with Prince Harry narrating the audio version. As of yet, details of a paperback release have not been announced, but a representative for Harry reportedly told Page Six that claims he’s planning to add a new chapter are “not true”.

Previously, Prince Harry admitted that the first draft of his memoir was a whopping 800 pages, with only 416 making the final cut. “It could have been two books, put it that way,” Harry told The Telegraph. The Duke has maintained that he has no intention of publishing the cut materials, because he doesn’t think his family “would never forgive” him if he did.

“There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know,” he said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly dismissed claims they were planning to sue the creators of cartoon comedy South Park.

An episode titled The Worldwide Privacy Tour features two characters who bear a resemblance to Harry and Meghan, embarking on a tour across the world demanding their privacy.

The couple’s spokesperson told People: “It’s all frankly nonsense. Totally baseless, boring reports.”

The 22-minute episode aired last week.

Centred around a red-headed character and his wife who relocate to South Park, Colorado, the “Prince of Canada” is seen promoting his book around the world.

Stan Marsh, one of the show’s main characters, refers to the fictional couple as the “dumb prince and his stupid wife”.

Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park first premiered on Comedy Central in 1997 and has often featured characters who bear a resemblance to famous faces.

The animated series begins every episode with a disclaimer saying that all its characters are fictional.

However, while Harry and Meghan’s names are never mentioned in the episode, the fictional Prince of Canada’s book appears to be a reference to Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, which was released at the beginning of the year.

Spare became the fastest-selling non-fiction book in the UK since records began in 1998. It sold 467,183 copies in its first week, according to official figures from Nielsen BookData.

The book outlines highly personal grievances and bitterness in the Royal Family, such as a claim he and Prince William urged their father not to marry Camilla.

It also provides behind-the-scenes details of the conflict he had with his brother, Prince William, the heir to the throne.

Harry sat down with UK and US broadcasters to promote the book, with CBS describing their interview with the royal as “explosive”.

Prince Harry is “in a pickle” about attending Charles’ coronation

On October 17, 2018, in Dubbo, Australia, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex pay a visit to the Woodleys, a nearby farming family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are touring Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand as part of their official 16-day Autumn trip.

According to reports, the royal couple is concerned of the response they will receive if they travel.

According to reports, the Duke of Sussex is debating whether or not to attend his father’s coronation, and there are “a million different variables” at play.

According to reports, Prince Harry is eager to stand by King Charles’ side on “very much the most significant day” of his life.

But he and his wife Meghan have little idea of how their relatives and the British public would react if they did fly to London to make an appearance.

It comes after a string of allegations were made in their Netflix show and in Harry’s memoir Spare.

Coronation day, on May 6, is also their son Archie’s fourth birthday – an issue that is important in their decision, although it isn’t expected to be the deciding factor, The Telegraph reports.

‘It’s complicated’, a friend reportedly said. ‘There are a million different variables. Anybody could understand the predicament.’

The two are expected to be invited to the coronation, with invitations arriving in the next few days.

But tensions will likely be high, as other members of the Royal Family are left ‘on edge’.

They are believed to be ‘wary’ of speaking to them in case the conversations end up in Harry’s next book or TV show.

The friend added that the California couple is waiting for their invite to arrive before they make their decision.

‘They’ll cross that bridge when they come to it’, they said. ‘They do not have any insight. They’re in limbo.’

If they do decide to come, it’s understood their visit to the UK will be brief – as it was with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In Spare, Harry made explosive claims about his family, including that the Prince of Wales physically attacked him in a row over Meghan.

He also appeared to confirm reports of a rocky relationship between his wife and the Princess of Wales by sharing texts showing a tense exchange over a bridesmaid dress.

Charles was accused of putting his own interests above his sons and allegedly didn’t hug Harry after telling him Diana had died in a car accident.

Speaking about his stepmother Camilla, Harry also claimed she ‘sacrificed me on her personal PR altar’ to ‘rehabilitate her image as a villain’, after Princess Diana referred to her as the ‘third person’ in her marriage.

Asked last month if he would go to the coronation, Prince Harry told ITV News: ‘There’s a lot that can happen between now and then, but you know, the door is always open, the ball is in their court.

‘There is a lot to be discussed and I really hope they are willing to sit down and talk about it.’

The Royal Family has declined to comment on claims from Harry and Meghan.

King Charles Coronation: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle still expected to attend event

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still expected to attend King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6, which also happens to be their son Archie’s fourth birthday, despite the fact that many royal experts have cautioned that their attendance could be a distraction. This is true despite all the confessions in “Spare” and the Netflix “Harry & Meghan” docuseries, which aired in December last year.

A royal insider reportedly told the Daily Mail that the Sussexes will “definitely” be at the coronation, but should not expect any apologies or reconciliation talks. “Members of the family have told me that both Harry and Meghan will definitely come. They fully expect that,” the insider said, adding, “And they should realize that there is only one subject that many members of the royal family will be willing to discuss… and that’s the weather.”

Another insider previously told The Independent that Prince Harry and Meghan would of course be invited, but noted that “it would be very hard” for them to be there “given everything that has been said.” Another source told The Mirror that Prince Harry doesn’t want to get on a plane to the U.K. until he has a summit with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William.

“Harry has been very clear and his position hasn’t wavered—he isn’t going to come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral,” the source said. “He’s said he wants to reconcile with his family, and it’s their call, but so far nothing has changed.”
