Barbadian singer and businesswoman Robyn Rihanna Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna, has lost her father, Ronald Fenty.
The cause of the septuagenarian’s death, including the date of when he passed, is not officially known.
A radio station based in Rihanna’s native Barbados, Starcom Network News, reported that Mr. Fenty died after battling a short illness.
Rihanna’s younger brother Rajad Fenty was seen arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with Rihanna who was not visibly seen in a vehicle both of them were in.
The news comes at a time when the beauty and music mogul is expecting her third baby with her lover, A$AP Rocky.
She had a complicated relationship with her father for several years before eventually making amends.
In a 2012 interview with Oprah, Rihanna revealed that her father was violent when she was growing up, but it is not known whether that was the cause of their estranged relationship.
In 2019, she filed a lawsuit against him and his business partner, Moses Perkins, accusing them of attempting to profit off her name by launching a company called Fenty Entertainment.
She alleged they misled investors by falsely claiming she was involved in the venture. Rihanna dropped the lawsuit shortly before it was set to go to trial in 2021, according to the BBC.
Fenty shared three children — Rihanna, Rajad and Rorrey — with his ex-wife, Monica Braithwaite.
The couple divorced in 2002. The family was raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, where Rihanna lived until she moved to the U.S. at age 16.
He also had three children from previous relationships: daughters Samantha and Kandy and son Jamie, “People” reports.

Rihannais feeling grateful after A$AP Rocky was cleared of all charges in his felony assault case.
The 36-year-old singer, who has been with A$AP Rocky since 2020, expressed her relief on Instagram following his acquittal on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
“All glory to God. Grateful and humbled by His mercy,” she wrote.
A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, was accused of shooting his former friend Terrell Ephron near a hotel nearly four years ago. He denied the allegations throughout the trial.
The rapper was facing up to 24 years in prison, but after almost a month in court, a jury of 12 found him not guilty after long trial.
Following the verdict, Mayers expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank God for saving my life. This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years. I’m thankful and blessed to be a free man talking to y’all.”
Rihanna, who has two children with A$AP Rocky—RZA, 2, and Riot, 18 months—sat behind him in court as the verdict was announced.
During the trial, Terrell Ephron claimed that A$AP Rocky shot at him, injuring his hand. However, Mayers’ lawyers argued that the gun was just a prop and not real.
Although security cameras recorded parts of the incident, there was no video evidence of the actual shooting.
Judge Mark Arnold dismissed the case, telling the rapper, “Mr. Mayers, you’re excused!”
Before the trial, A$AP Rocky had rejected a plea deal that would have required him to serve six months in jail.
Rihanna has expressed her joy and gratitude following the acquittal of her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, in a high-profile legal battle that could have drastically altered his future.
On Tuesday, a Los Angeles jury found the rapper, born Rakim Mayers, not guilty on two felony assault charges linked to a 2021 incident in Hollywood. If convicted, he could have faced up to 24 years behind bars.
In response to the verdict, Rihanna took to social media to share her emotions, writing: “THE GLORY BELONGS TO GOD AND GOD ALONE! THANKFUL, HUMBLED BY HIS MERCY!”
The case centered on allegations by Terell Ephron, a former close friend and fellow A$AP Mob member, who claimed that Rocky fired a gun at him during a heated altercation on November 6, 2021. One of the bullets allegedly grazed his knuckles.
Rihanna celebrates A$AP Rocky being found not guilty for assault:
Mayers, however, denied the accusations, insisting the weapon was merely a prop and that Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, was seeking financial gain through his claims.
As the jury delivered its verdict, the courtroom erupted in cheers. Overcome with emotion, Rocky leaped over a wooden barrier to embrace Rihanna and his family. He then hugged his lawyers, his eyes filled with tears as the second not-guilty verdict was read.
“Thank God for saving my life,” he declared, before expressing gratitude to the jury for their decision.
Rihanna, who stood by his side throughout the trial, was present in court on Tuesday when the verdict was announced—witnessing the moment her partner walked away a free man.
The legal dispute stemmed from a confrontation in Hollywood, a day after a previous disagreement between Mayers and Ephron. Once close friends, their relationship reportedly fractured as A$AP Rocky’s fame soared.

Now free from the case, Rocky is set to make a major return to the spotlight. He is gearing up for the release of his first solo album in nearly a decade and will co-headline Los Angeles’ Rolling Loud festival in March 2025. He has also been named as a co-chair for the prestigious Met Gala in May, alongside Anna Wintour, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and LeBron James.
Beyond music and fashion, he will appear in Spike Lee’s upcoming film Highest 2 Lowest, starring Denzel Washington, scheduled for release this summer.
Rihanna kicked off 2025by sharing that she remained sober throughout the entire year of 2024.
In an Instagram video shared on January 1, the 36-year-old singer celebrated with friends as they counted down to the New Year. In the clip, she mentioned her decision to abstain from alcohol during the previous year..
“Y’all, I didn’t drink all year! I didn’t drink all year,” she said in the video which was captioned: “New Year, New Me.”
In another Instagram video, Rihanna showcased her Fenty Hair shampoo. She humorously demonstrated its use by washing a hair extension alongside a friend, adding a playful touch to the tutorial.
“You owe me a new bottle! For one stinkin’ track!” she stated. The music star captioned the video: “De Dirt!!! We walking into 2025 CLEANSED baby! 1 track at a time! Also tell @mdollas11 stay out my bathroom!”
Rihanna celebrated the New Year in New York City with her partner, A$AP Rocky, and their two sons, 2-year-old RZA and 1-year-old Riot. In an October interview with PEOPLE, she shared her preference for wearing comfortable and practical outfits to keep up with her busy life as a mom.
“Anything that’s cozy, anything that’s stretchy, anything that’s easy to bend down and pick my kids up in. Those are the things I look for,” she said. “Things that don’t scratch me, don’t scratch them. We’ve got a lot of work to do in a day of the life of a mom.”
A$AP Rocky has also lauded Rihanna’s dedication and efforts as a parent, describing her as a “great mom” who he is proud to share a family with.
As the new year begins, Rihanna looksforward to achieving greater milestones in her career. Staying committed to her sobriety, the Fenty entrepreneur plans to maintain a balance between her professional ambitions and spending quality time with her family in 2025.
Taylor Swift hasofficially overtaken Rihanna to become the wealthiest female musician globally, with her net worth now estimated at a staggering $1.6 billion.
This milestone was confirmed on Saturday, October 5th, following an update by Forbes, which reflects the immense success of Swift’s “Eras Tour” and the continued popularity of her music catalog.
By surpassing Rihanna’s $1.4 billion net worth, Swift now holds the top spot among female musicians and is ranked second among all musicians worldwide. The only artist with a higher valuation is Jay-Z, with a net worth of $2.5 billion.
What sets Swift apart is that she’s the first musician to amass a billion-dollar fortune almost entirely from her music and tours, unlike other artists whose wealth largely comes from external business ventures.
This achievement underscores her dominance in the music industry and the enduring appeal of her body of work.
A year after hitting the billionaire milestone, Forbes now estimates that Taylor Swift’s assets break down into $600 million from touring and royalties, another $600 million from her music catalog, and $125 million from real estate investments.
Swift has long been a prominent figure on wealthiest musician lists, but her financial growth over recent years has been remarkable. Back in 2020, her fortune was estimated at $365 million, meaning she’s accumulated more than $1.2 billion in just the past four years.
While Swift now holds the title of the richest female musician, Rihanna retains her standing as the “Richest Female Musician of All Time,” with a peak net worth once estimated at $1.77 billion. However, Swift may surpass even that, especially after concluding her highly successful “Eras Tour,” which will wrap up with its final dates in the U.S. and Canada later this year.
Additionally, Swift recently made headlines for endorsing Kamala Harrisfor president, a move that drew criticism from Donald Trump, who warned she would “pay a price” for her political stance.

Billionaire singer Rihanna has hinted at ending her sabbatical soon.
The ‘Diamonds’ star, who recently stirred up social media by wearing an ‘I’m Retired’ shirt, revealed in a new interview with ET that she is returning to the studio.
Rihanna, who has not released an album since 2016, assured fans that her next album is on the way.
The mother of two shared that she has been on a journey of musical rediscovery.

In response to a protest organized by the Ghana Mineworkers’ Union (GMWU) of the TUC-Ghana at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources on April 25, the government has instructed Future Global Resources Limited (FGR) to swiftly revamp its mining operations.
Abdul-Moomin Gbana, the General Secretary of the union, clarified in a statement released on April 14, 2024, that the protest aimed to prompt the government to revoke the mining lease of Future Global Resources Limited, the operators of the Bogoso-Prestea Mines.
The union contends that since assuming control of the mine in 2020, Future Global Resources has not demonstrated adequate financial capability to manage it effectively. Despite a recommendation from the Minerals Commission to the Minister of Lands & Natural Resources to revoke the license, no action has been taken thus far.
During the picketing at the Lands Ministry, Lands Minister Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, representing the government, acknowledged the union’s concerns and directed FGR to address them without delay.
Mr. Jinapor assured the aggrieved workers of the government’s commitment to enhancing their welfare.
The government’s directive to FGR was prompted by the pressure exerted by the GMWU, underscoring the impact of collective action in addressing labor issues.
The union’s persistent advocacy for its members’ rights led to prompt government intervention, underscoring the importance of organized labor in the country’s governance.
In response to the government’s directive, Future Global Resources Limited is expected to take immediate action to address the concerns raised by the GMWU.
“The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, on Thursday, 25th April, 2024, engaged members of the Mine Workers Union who were picketing at the Ministry and assured them of Government’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to revamp the Prestea and Bogoso mines, and secure the welfare of its workers,” an excerpt of the statement said.
American musician and fashion icon, Rihanna, 36, recently shared her thoughts on her past fashion choices, expressing some regrets given her role as a mother of two.
In an interview with British Vogue at the Tobacco Dock launch of Fenty X Puma’s new brown creeper shoe, the pop star revealed that certain daring outfits from her “wild past” are now viewed differently through the lens of motherhood.
The singer, who is currently raising two sons, RZA Athelston Mayers and Riot Rose Mayers, with her partner A$AP Rocky, admitted that there are things she “would’ve never worn” as a mom.
She specifically mentioned going topless in public and letting her “panties be out” at red carpet events as choices she now regrets.
Reflecting on her evolution, Rihanna acknowledged, “It’s going to sound hypocritical because I did so much s**t in my life, I had my nipples out, I had my panties out.”
However, she emphasised that as she has grown as a mother and a person, certain fashion decisions from her past no longer align with her values.
“It’s just things that I feel I would never do, or I’m just like ‘oh my god, I really did that? Nips out?’” she confessed, highlighting the shift in perspective that parenthood has brought to her life.
American musician and fashion icon Rihanna, in a recent interview with the BBC, expressed her joy at rediscovering fashionable attire after embracing motherhood with the birth of her two children.
The Grammy-winning singer shared that following the arrival of her second son last year, she had become “too comfortable” wearing pyjamas and sweats.
Speaking at the launch of her latest collaboration with Puma in London, Rihanna emphasised the significance of dressing up, describing it as empowering for women.
“With the first pregnancy, I feel like I was able to wear heels all the way through,” she said.
“But then with the second pregnancy, you have a toddler, a belly, it’s winter, you have a coat, a baby bag. You’re like, heels? Hmm, maybe not. That’s why I got a little bit more creative with my comfortable style.
“And then I got too comfortable after I had my second kid and I just was in robes, PJs, sweats.”
She spoke candidly about the challenges of balancing style with motherhood, mentioning how priorities shift but reclaiming fashion brings about a personal “rediscovery.”
“And now I’m playing again. Now I’m having fun with my clothes.”
The star attended the London launch on Wednesday, days after being spotted at the Coachella festival in California.
Returning to the spotlight and thinking about fashion again has given her “a rediscovery” and the licence “to even allow myself that space mentally to approach my closet and create stuff”, she said.
The artist, who welcomed her sons with rapper A$AP Rocky, recounted her journey from confidently wearing heels throughout her first pregnancy to adapting her style creatively during her second.
After a while when you have kids, you think, this is the dumbest [stuff], the least important. It really is the least important thing.
“But it does something for you as a woman, and as a mum that’s important for us.”
The star was praised for rewriting the rules for fashion when she was pregnant, refusing to wear conventional maternity clothes.
“I approached it like everything else I approach in fashion,” she told BBC News. “I just want to do things my way. I just want to always stitch it up and put my own twist on it.
“But I just refused to buy maternity clothes, really and truly. I was like, whatever fits was what’s going to work. And that made me challenge myself to get clever with style.”
Rihanna’s approach to maternity fashion, eschewing traditional choices and opting for outfits that resonated with her style, received praise and acknowledgment for challenging norms. Despite stepping back from music, Rihanna’s influence in the fashion and beauty industries has soared, leading to her self-made billionaire status primarily through her brands Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty.
Her recent return to the spotlight has reignited discussions about her impact on fashion and female agency, reaffirming her status as a trailblazer in the industry.
Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr and American songstress Rihanna were spotted looking stunning together.
Ayra dazzled in a sleek black outfit while Rihanna rocked a chic brown jacket and blonde hair, showcasing their impeccable style.
The captivating image was accompanied by a caption that read, “what a man cannot do a sabi girl can do better,” fueling excitement and speculation among fans about a possible collaboration between the two artists.
Although it remains unconfirmed whether a joint project is in the works, the internet is abuzz with anticipation over this dynamic duo linking up.
American rap star Rick Ross has assured Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall star Stonebwoy that he can set up a meeting and collaboration – virtual or physical, he did not specify – between him and Pop star Rihanna “this week”.
The two spoke on Instagram Live, Saturday, February 3, 2024, after Ross expressed interest in working with Stonebwoy for his upcoming African project.
When the Maybach Music Group boss asked Stonebwoy who his dream collaborations were, he answered, “It’s got to be you and on the female side it’s got to be Rihanna or Taylor Swift, for now.”
To this, Rick Ross reacted: “Rihanna, we could get that done this week.
“And the only reason I’m not gonna say tonight is because I got another dinner. I’ve been celebrating my birthday all week, my brother.”
Nicknamed Ricky Rozay, he stressed his commitment to ensuring the collaboration between Stonebwoy and Rihanna happened saying, “I’m just gonna let you know, we gonna do that.”
Rick Ross has several collaborations with Rihanna including Cake Remix and Pour It Up Remix.
Stonebwoy’s international collaborations include work with Sean Paul (Most Original) and Beenie Man (Shuga), Shaggy (My Sound), Keri Hilson (Nominate), Stormzy (Life & Money) and Angelique Kidjo (Manodzi).
As the year 2023 approaches its conclusion, various stakeholders in the music industry, including streaming platforms, media outlets, listeners, and artists, are spotlighting their standout songs of the year.
International pop sensation Rihanna has identified Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ featuring Musa Keys, as her favorite song of the year. The track is part of Davido’s record-breaking fourth album, ‘Timeless.’ Rihanna, sharing her preference in a recent interview, disclosed that ‘Unavailable’ has been on repeat throughout the year.
In the interview, the musician, now a billionaire entrepreneur, also acknowledged Tyler ICU’s hit single ‘Mnike’ as one of her favorite songs of 2023.
Rihanna’s admiration for Davido’s ‘Unavailable’ resonates globally, as the single has garnered immense popularity worldwide.
It topped the TurnTable Top 100 and secured a position in the top 10 of Spotify and Apple Music’s top Nigerian songs by the end of the year.
The international success of ‘Unavailable’ led to several remixes, including collaborations with Jamaican Dancehall legend Sean Paul and American rapper Latto.
As the anticipation builds, ‘Unavailable’ is set to compete for the Grammy award for Best African Music Performance on February 5, 2024. This marks a significant milestone for Davido, who has received three Grammy nominations and is hopeful to secure his first Grammy win with this nomination.
News of A$AP Rocky potentially facing jail time has left superstarRihanna heartbroken, as sources reveal concerns about the possibility of her becoming a single mother to their two children.
The rapper is set to go to trial, and the unfolding legal situation has added a layer of uncertainty to the couple’s future. The looming trial has raised questions about the challenges Rihanna may face as she grapples with the potential impact on her role as a mother and the dynamics of their relationship.
The 35-year-old rapper, known as A$AP Rocky, is scheduled to go to trial in early January on charges of allegedly firing a semi automatic handgun at his former friend, A$AP Relli. Prosecutors claim that Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, pointed the handgun at Terell Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, during a confrontation two years ago.
Despite entering a plea of not guilty in April 2022, the rapper has consistently asserted his innocence. However, with sufficient evidence to proceed to trial, a conviction could result in Rocky facing a potential prison sentence of up to nine years.
And now, our source says the trial has turned 35-year-old Ri-Ri’s life upside down, as she’s potentially faced with life alone.
Opening up about the thought of raising the couple’s sons RZA, one, and Riot Rose, four months, alone, our source shares, “Rihanna’s trying to stay calm and listen to the lawyers, who have promised they’ll keep him out of jail. But it’s pretty hard when everyone had assured her this wouldn’t even go to trial. He’s facing nine years, and she’s terrified right now.”
“If the worst happens and they want to make an example of him, she’ll be raising her two kids alone,” the source shares, adding, “It’s a total nightmare and not something Rihanna ever thought she’d face. She’s so stressed out and losing sleep over this.”
The pair were first linked back in 2012 after performing together at the VMAS, but it wasn’t until 2020 that the Diamonds singer said Rocky was able to make it out of “the friend zone”.
By May 2022, the loved-up pair had welcomed their first son RZA, before Rihanna revealed they were expecting baby number two, proudly displaying her bump during the Super Bowl 2023 halftime show.
But a spanner was thrown in the works last year, after police took the rapper into custody over the alleged shooting. It was reported the cops arrested Rocky at a LAX Airport, where he was returning from a Barbados trip with heavily pregnant Rihanna.
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky‘s unique baby name sparks social media frenzy.
According to TMZ, the couple welcomed their second child, a baby boy, in early August, and they’ve officially revealed his name as ‘Riot Rose Mayers.’
Riot was born on August 1, 2023, at 7:41 a.m. at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, as per the birth certificate obtained by The Blast, the outlet that first disclosed the child’s name.
The name Riot follows a tradition of starting with the letter “R” and may be inspired by A$AP Rocky’s recent song “Riot,” featuring Pharrell Williams.
As expected, the child’s odd name has sparked a lot of discussion on social media.
One Prymost wrote, “The pikin con grow up. Riot why are you causing riot
Mr Bishop wrote, “Una for call am protest
Kaylay wrote, “The child will grow up to sue them for indecent name-calling
Bernard The first wrote, “Now they need a third son called protest
One Not In Your Imagination wrote, “This thing got me thinking, rich man name Pikin riot poor man name peace
Lynn Etteru By Mitchell wrote, “Why not Blessing or Peace or Monday why Riot??
Drew Johnson wrote, “Poor kid thank God his family is rich so he won’t be in public school. Can you imagine being in class during attendance and the teacher say riot and you say Present everyone in the class will be on the floor”.
Earlier this year, American singer Rihanna and ASAP Rocky joyfully announced their expectation of a second child.
The exciting news came to light as Rihanna, the CEO of Fenty, shared it during her performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show last night.
In a captivating moment, Rihanna, clad in red attire, elegantly removed her jacket, proudly revealing her blossoming baby bump to the audience.
Famous billionaire singer, Rihanna and her finacee A$AP Rocky reportedly welcome baby number two.
The fenty boss and entrepreneur Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky are said to have welcomed a boy as their second child.
The 35-year-old reportedly gave birth to a second baby boy earlier this month in secret, according to TMZ.
According to sources with firsthand knowledge, the baby arrived in Los Angeles, California, on August 3.
The couple’s first child, RZA Athelston Mayers, was born on May 13, 2022.
During her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime in Phoenix, Rihanna pulled down the zipper of her jacket to show off her expanding baby bump, announcing to the world that she is expecting a second child.
Rihanna is always full of surprises. But when the Primetime Emmy nominations were announced and her name was read out, it was RiRi who was left gobsmacked.
Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance scored five Emmy nominations, including outstanding variety special (live), which she shares with executive producer Jay-Z
The occasion wasn’t lost on the “Umbrella” singer, who dug out her red Super Bowl outfit for a social post. “Pull up breed up 2 d bashment,” reads the accompanying comments. “5 EMMY NOMZ is craaaaazzzyyy!!! Im so grateful for every single person involved in creating these memories!”
RiRi’s performance at foot
ball’s showpiece event in February 2022 was huge for several reasons. It represented her first major live performance following a lengthy absence from the spotlight. And she used the occasion to show off her baby bump, a moment that caused the Internet to (nearly) melt down.
The billionaire businesswoman and mom recently became the first female artist to have 10 songs reach one billion streams on Spotify.
Rihanna’s billion-streams club songs on Spotify are “Diamonds,” “We Found Love” (with Calvin Harris), “Love on the Brain,” “Stay” (with Mikky Ekko), “This Is What You Came For” (with Calvin Harris), “Needed Me,” “Four Five Seconds” (with Kanye West & Paul McCartney), “Work” (with Drake), “Umbrella” (with Jay-Z) and “Love the Way You Lie” (with Eminem).
Expect that collection to grow when the Barbadian artist releases the follow-up to her last studio album, 2016’s Billboard 200-topping Anti.
As her list of hits builds, so too does her family. Earlier this week, the 35-year-old musician, mogul and expecting mom showed off her third-trimester baby bump while premiering a coral Savage X Fenty bra and panties set. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky already have a baby son, RZA.
Renowned musician and cosmetics billionaire Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty has made the significant announcement that she will be stepping down from her role as CEO of Savage X Fenty. The lingerie brand, which she co-founded in 2018, has become a prominent name in the fashion industry under her leadership. Rihanna’s decision to step down as CEO marks a new chapter for Savage X Fenty, and fans and followers are eagerly anticipating the brand’s future direction under new leadership.
After leading the company for over five years, Rihanna will now take on the role of executive chair, paving the way for Hillary Super to assume the position of CEO.
Rihanna’s vision for Savage X Fenty has had a significant impact on the industry since its inception. In a statement, she expressed her gratitude for the brand’s success, stating:, “It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years.”
She also expressed her excitement about the company’s future under Super’s leadership, added: “I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO—she is a strong leader focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”
Super, the former CEO of Anthropologie Group, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Having served as the global CEO at Anthropologie Group for four years and held leadership positions at renowned retailers such as Guess, American Eagle, Gap, and Old Navy, Super is well-equipped to guide Savage X Fenty to new heights.
She expressed her enthusiasm about joining the brand, stating: “I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family. The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”
Savage X Fenty, in which Rihanna owns a 30-percent stake, was launched in partnership with TechStyle Fashion Group and has attracted investments from Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners and private equity firm L. Catterton, which includes Bernard Arnault as a shareholder.
In a funding round led by Neuberg Berman in 2021, Savage X Fenty raised an impressive $125 million, elevating its valuation to $1 billion and bringing its total venture capital funding to $310 million since its launch.
With Rihanna’s transition to the executive chair position and the appointment of Hillary Super as CEO, Savage X Fenty is positioned for continued growth and success.
The National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, a Dutch museum, has claimed that its archaeologists have been prohibited from conducting excavations at a significant Egyptian site due to an exhibition exploring the impact of ancient Egypt on black musicians.
The museum expressed its disappointment regarding the ban and deemed the accusation of “falsifying” history by Egyptian authorities as groundless.
No comments have been made by Egyptian officials regarding the issue. However, recent reports in Egyptian media mentioned the exhibition as a source of contention for a local expert in antiquities, who alleged that it supported “Afrocentric theory.”
In response, an Egyptian Member of Parliament raised concerns about the government’s actions to address what they referred to as the “distortion of Egyptian civilization.”
The museum also said that it had received comments via social media that were “racist or offensive in nature” since the exhibition opened.
The dispute comes only weeks after Egyptian authorities condemned a new Netflix docudrama series depicting Queen Cleopatra as a black African as a “falsification of history”.

The exhibition at the National Museum of Antiquities (RMO) – entitled Kemet. Egypt in Hip Hop, jazz, soul & funk – aims to demonstrate how Ancient Egypt and Nubia have been “an undeniable source of inspiration for musicians of African descent for over 70 years”.
The artists have embraced the ancient cultures and employed the associated motifs “as symbols of resistance, empowerment and spiritual healing”, it says.
It features photographs and music videos showing how Beyoncé and Rihanna had both appeared as Queen Nefertiti; a modern sculpture of Nas based on the famous gold mask of King Tutankhamun; several of Sun Ra’s Egyptian-inspired costumes; and songs by artists ranging from Nina Simone and Fela Kuti to Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill.
The exhibition also looks at what scientific research has revealed about ancient Egypt and Nubia and discusses how they have been studied from Eurocentric and Afrocentric perspectives.
The RMO said in a statement on Wednesday that it was disappointed to be informed in a recent email from a senior Egyptian antiquities official that it was no longer allowed to excavate at the Saqqara necropolis near Cairo after almost 50 years of work there.
“The Egyptian authorities have every right to terminate a permit for an excavation; after all, it is their land and their heritage. However, the museum considers the underlying argument for this decision incorrect.”
It added: “The Egyptian authorities conclude that our current exhibition… is about ‘falsifying’ the ancient Egyptian history. This political argument is used to express the dissatisfaction with the exhibition and to ban our excavation.”
The RMO also expressed surprise that the argument was being made by “people who have not actually seen the exhibition”.
Rihanna is taking a nostalgic journey. In anticipation of her second baby, the renowned Grammy-winning singer has taken to Instagram to reminisce about her first pregnancy by sharing maternity photos.
The captivating pictures portray RiRi standing against a picturesque ocean backdrop, exuding confidence as she dons a string bikini bottom, stylish snake-skin heels, and adorned with pieces of gold jewelry.
“Here’s a little series I call ‘Rub on ya titties; in honor of my first pregnancy, embracing motherhood like a g, and the magic that this body made!” she captioned the Instagram carousel.
“Baby RZA… he in there not having a clue how nuts his mama is, or how obsessed he bout to make me #maternityshoot2022 #tobecontinued.”
In a photo posted on IG in honour of their son’s first birthday on Saturday, Rihanna and Rocky smiled as they cuddled up to him on a blanket.
A$AP On Saturday, Rocky shared a number of photos with Rihanna and their 1-year-old baby as they celebrated Rocky’s “1st BORN”‘s birthday.
Rocky announced the name of his son, RZA, in a touching Instagram post after The Daily Mail published information on the infant’s certificate of live birth on Wednesday.
“‘WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN 🤲’ HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA❤️,” wrote Rocky on his son’s birthday as he referred to words from the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who worked alongside the rapper RZA in the iconic hip-hop group.

Baby RZA, in one shot with his parents, looked toward the camera as Rihanna appeared to land a smooch on Rocky’s face.
The couple, in another picture, smiled as their son stared at the camera while they lounged on a blanket together.
Rocky also shared a video in the Instagram post where he held up his son with a grin on his face.
“Big head man,” the rapper said before giving his son a kiss.
Rocky and Rihanna are set to welcome another child as the “Diamonds” singer acknowledged that her second pregnancy, revealed during her Super Bowl halftime show performance, has been “so different from the first one.”
“Just everything … no cravings, tons of nausea, everything’s different,” Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight on the Met Gala red carpet earlier this month.
“But I’m enjoying it, I’m enjoying it. I feel good. I feel energetic.”
The singer later told ET that she’s “in love” with being a mother to her son, who joined her and Rocky on the cover of British Vogue earlier this year.
“I’m obsessed and I don’t even feel guilty about it,” she said.
Ghanaian rapper Amerado, is the the firstKumasi rapper to win the Best Rapper awardat 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The award ceremony held last night in Ghana, is one of the most prestigious events in the country’s music industry.
Amerado, born Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, is a Ghanaian rapper known for his unique style of storytelling and rap delivery. He started his music career in 2015 and has since released several hit songs, including “Yeete Nsem”, which has become a popular series in Ghana.
Amerado’s style of rap, which combines witty wordplay with storytelling, has earned him a loyal fanbase in Ghana and beyond.
At the 2023 VGMA, Amerado beat out several well-known rappers, including Teephlow, Medikal, Strongman, and Lyrical Joe, to take home the Best Rapper award. His win was a significant achievement for Kumasi rap and a testament to the talent and hard work of the rapper.
The award was well-deserved, as Amerado has been consistent in his music delivery, with each release showcasing his growth as an artist. His “Yeete Nsem” series, which started as a weekly rap news review on social media, has become a cultural phenomenon in Ghana. The series covers a range of topics, from politics to social issues, and has amassed a large following.
Amerado’s win at the VGMA is not only a personal achievement but also a victory for Kumasi rap. Kumasi, a city located in the Ashanti region of Ghana, has been home to several talented rappers, including Flowking Stone, King Paluta, Strongman and Phrimpong. However, Kumasi rap has often been overshadowed by the dominance of Accra-based artists in the Ghanaian music industry.
With Amerado’s win,Kumasirap has been given the recognition it deserves, and other Kumasi-based rappers can now aspire to achieve similar success. The win also shows that talent can come from anywhere, and artists should not be limited by their location.
According to sources, the official birth certificate revealed Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have named their first child RZA Athelston Mayers.
It appears that the name RZA is a tribute to Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
The baby boy’s middle name, Athelston, honors his father, Rakim Athelaston Mayers. The birth certificate also confirms that RZA was born on May 13, 2022.
Clues about the name choice were evident as Rihanna was seen wearing Wu-Tang Clan and RZA merchandise after the birth of her son.
Three months post-delivery, she donned a vintage RZA concert t-shirt paired with a black jean miniskirt and matching thigh-high slouchy denim boots.
In recent photographs taken in Paris, the “Diamonds” singer was spotted carrying her little boy while wearing a Wu-Tang Clan shirt.
Rihanna, who is currently pregnant with her second child, spoke about the joys of motherhood with British Vogue in February.
“It’s everything,” she said of being a mom. “You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it—and there are photos of my life before—but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because…Because it doesn’t matter.”
The “most-watched halftime show of all time” was Rihanna‘s halftime performance at the 2023 Super Bowl game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the latest report by Nielsen, a media research and data analytics organization, Rihanna’s performance attracted a total number of 115.1 million viewers.
In February, the multi-award-winning singer took the stage in a half-zipped bright red baggy jumpsuit to entertain spectators at the game.
At the show, the musician also announced she was expecting her second child with rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky while showing off a visible baby bump.
According to the adjusted report, the figure which was originally set at 113.1 million has now been improved by an additional two million due to “encoding irregularities as well as issues with out-of-home measurement.”
“I really appreciate their diligence in conducting the review and coming to the most correct number possible,” Michael Mulvihill, Fox Sports head of strategic and analytics, said.
“Super Bowl Sunday is the most difficult day for them because you have not just the scale but people are watching on English and Spanish, in and out of home, online and all of that has to be stitched together into a credible number.
“I give them credit for acknowledging the issue, being transparent about it, and get to the most correct number they can get to.
“It was a little deflating when it seemed like we didn’t get the record but now that we know that we did, it’s validating. It gives us pride in the year that we had.”
With the new report, Rihanna’s performance has surpassed the previous record set by Katy Perry’s halftime show during the 2015 game between New England and Seattle — which stood at 114,442,000 viewers, excluding streaming.
Nielsen’s revised report also revealed that the Super Bowl 57 Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles game has become the most-watched Super Bowl in history.

Rihanna is a nine-time Grammy Award winner, a 12-time Billboard Music Award winner and has recently been nominated for Best Original Song [Lift Me Up] at the upcoming Academy Awards.
Rihanna follows Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar, who performed at last year’s halftime act during Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles, Cal. Some of the past Super Bowl performers include The Weeknd, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Prince, Madonna, and the legendary list goes on and on.
Rihanna has delivered some all-time hit songs in Umbrella, Only Girl, Don’t Stop the Music, Work, and many more.
Super Bowl LVII
Super Bowl LVII is an American football game played to determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL) for the 2022 season. The American Football Conference (AFC) champion Kansas City Chiefs defeated the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Philadelphia Eagles, 38–35. The game was played on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. It was the fourth Super Bowl hosted by the Phoenix metropolitan area, and the third at this venue, with the most recent previously being Super Bowl XLIX in 2015 (then known as University of Phoenix Stadium).
Both teams finished the regular season with a league-best 14–3 record. This was the Chiefs’ fifth Super Bowl appearance overall and third in the last four seasons. This marked the Chiefs’ third Super Bowl win, having previously won Super Bowls IV and LIV; the Chiefs previously lost Super Bowls I and LV. This was the Eagles’ fourth Super Bowl appearance after a win in Super Bowl LII and losses in Super Bowls XV and XXXIX.
After the Eagles went into halftime up 24–14, the Chiefs mounted a comeback to win the game 38–35 with a game-winning field goal kicked by Harrison Butker. The 73 combined points was the third-highest scoring Super Bowl game.
On Monday night, the annual Met Gala took place in New York City, and while many were waiting to see what celebrities like Rihanna and Beyoncé would be wearing, it was A$AP Rocky who made the headlines. The rapper was seen hopping over a barricade to get into the Carlyle Hotel ahead of the fashion event, a video posted to Twitter purportedly showed.
The video was posted by HuffPost senior editor Philip Lewis, and it showed A$AP Rocky appearing to push past a group of people and jump over a barrier outside the hotel.
ASAp Rocky hopes over barricade into hotel ahead of Met Gala
Once he got onto the hotel’s red carpet, someone in the crowd handed him a duffle bag, as the video seemed to show.
A$AP Rocky’s representatives did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment on the video, which has 1.3 million views at the time of writing.
Shortly after the footage went viral, the woman whose faceA$AP Rocky appeared to palm in the video revealed herself on Twitter to be 21-year-old Madelyn Llanes from Long Island, New York. She wrote that she wasn’t offended by the rapper’s behavior and that he didn’t hurt her.
“ASAP Rocky just literally jumped over me,” she tweeted alongside a selfie with her glasses slightly askew.
Llanes later spoke to The Independent about the incident.
“I had felt someone tapping my shoulder, so I turned around and saw that it was him but my brain didn’t fully comprehend that it was him,” she said.
Llanes said Rocky then told her, “Sweetheart, I need to get through.” She said she told him no, but he did not care.
“He just pushed his way up and then hopped over and grabbed me and the guy next to me as he did,” she said. “After he hopped over, he was like ‘thank you’ and then just laughed and flipped me off and then he went inside and that’s when I fully realized it was him.”
Some people online felt sorry for the Llanes. One wrote: “He put all his weight on that poor woman!”Another user made light of the situation, tweeting: “The power of celebrity is using someone’s face as a springboard and them looking at you in awe over it lol.”
One person who claimed to be in attendance captured a different perspective of A$AP Rocky’s jump. The user was surprised by how close the rapper was to them.
This is not the first time A$AP Rocky has made headlines for his actions at the Met Gala. In 2019, he walked the red carpet with a giant blanket that looked like a duvet cover, which many people found amusing. He has also been known for his stylish outfits at the annual event.
The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. It has been held since 1948 and is considered one of the biggest nights in the fashion industry. Each year, the event has a theme, and this year’s theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”
The event was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it returned this year with various safety protocols in place. All attendees were required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result, and the event was held outdoors to reduce the risk of transmission.
A$AP Rocky wasn’t the only one who caused a stir at this year’s event. Kim Kardashian also turned heads with her outfit, which covered her entire body, including her face. The outfit was designed by Balenciaga and included a black face covering and a long black dress with a train.
Other notable attendees included Billie Eilish, who wore a peach-colored gown with a long train, and actor Timothée Chalamet, who wore a white Haider Ackermann suit with black lapels and Converse sneakers.
Despite the various safety protocols in place, the Met Gala has been criticized by some for being tone-deaf during the pandemic. The event, which is known for its opulence and extravagance, has been described as a symbol of excess during a time when many people are struggling.
Overall, this year’s Met Gala was a star-studded event that drew attention from around the world. While A$AP Rocky’s antics may have stolen the show in the early hours, the event was ultimately a celebration of fashion and creativity, with many attendees using their outfits to make a statement about American culture and identity.
The Carlyle is a popular hotel among celebrities attending the Met Gala, according to Cosmopolitan. It’s where many Met Gala attendees will unveil their looks for the event before arriving at the nearby Metropolitan Museum of Art, the venue for the famous Costume Institute gala.
The Manhattan hotel has also been a favorite with royals Princess Diana, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.

With a strong love for storytelling and self-expression, Papa Oppong Bediako usually puts together pieces that turn heads on social media.
Through his work, the fast-rising US-based Ghanaian fashion designer seeks to show the world that Africa is a goldmine of talent and potential, and can be as influential in fashion as the rest of the world is.
Cut out from exceptional pieces, Papa Oppong designs his outfits with the notion that ‘fashion is an anatomical architecture’.
In his words, drawn from an earlier interview with Bella Naija, he averred:
“It’s a great and interesting task designing for the human body…I think fashion is anatomical architecture and being a designer allows me to explore the sort of bodily ‘structures’ and ‘buildings’ I want to see people occupy.”
Oppong draws his inspiration from social media apps such as Instagram, Pinterest, documentaries, style personalities, and so on.
“I get style inspiration from many different sources. One of my favourite sources is Instagram where I’m bombarded with visuals from all over the world. I follow everything from food pages to arts and crafts pages to models to documentary journalists.
“There are so many things to see on Instagram and though this can get overwhelming and a lot sometimes, it’s a really good source of style inspiration. Some of my favourite Instagram style personalities are Rihanna and Louis Rubi. I also use Pinterest a lot for when I’m building a mood board for collections and the good-old-fashioned way: exploring the city,” he stated.
Fast-rising Ghanaian fashion designer, Papa Oppong, has recently made headlines after receiving a message from American billionaire and singer Rihanna.
The talented designer, who is known for his bold and unique designs, was over the moon after receiving the message from the renowned singer.
In his response to Rihanna’s message via a tweet dated March 26, 2023, Papa Oppong expressed his admiration for her, stating that he adored her and couldn’t wait to meet her in person.
He even joked about crying in disbelief at the thought of meeting the pop star.
“Rihanna I adore you! Forever and ever! I can’t wait to meet you and scream and laugh and cry together!!! This can’t be real life!!! I’m gonna go cry right now. Be right back,” Papa Oppong said.
Rihanna, on the other hand, showed her support for Papa Oppong’s work, congratulating him on his success and expressing her excitement for his future.
She even asked for an autograph, proving that even A-list celebrities can be starstruck by the talent and creativity of others.
“Congratulations man! This is giving me chills! I want an autograph before you get too famous and forget me,” Rihanna wrote Papa Oppong.
The exchange between Papa Oppong and Rihanna has garnered a lot of attention, not just in Ghana but also in the international fashion community.
People are naturally delighted by this connection because it’s uncommon for people to be noticed or acknowledged by a worldwide celebrity like Rihanna.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the man, who traveled from South Carolina, walked up to Rihanna’s home Thursday where he was almost immediately greeted by her security.
TMZ source say the man claimed he was there to propose to the singer, and Rihanna’s team called the cops right away.
When officers arrived, they put the man in handcuffs, got him in a car and had a serious chat about his intentions.
TMZ sources say it was determined the man — dressed in a red Nike hoodie — had not broken any laws, though he was asked to leave and told not to return.
It was back in 2018 when a man named Eduardo Leon was arrested inside Rihanna’s L.A.-area home.
Rihanna headlined the Super Bowl 2023 halftime show.
Leon allegedly had been inside the home for at least a day, while Rihanna was out of town, before he was discovered. He allegedly told cops he was there to have sex with the singer.
Scary situation all around, especially because Rihanna has a young family, with another child on the way.
Two outfits weren’t enough for Rihanna at the Oscars. After stepping out in a sheer black and leather Alaïa dress on the red carpet and wearing an embellished black Maison Margiela bra with print pants on stage during her performance, Rihanna switched into a third show-stopping number: a lime green bustier and skirt from Bottega Veneta with a shearling stole set and gloves. Fans shared a look of the ensemble in the audience, as Rihanna joined her boyfriend A$AP Rocky to watch the rest of the show after her performance.

Rihanna had stuck to black earlier in the night. Now that the Oscars have wrapped, there’s a good chance she could debut a fourth outfit if she chooses to go to an after-party.
Here was her red carpet look:
And her performance look:
Rocky, of course, was in a white suit next to her during the ceremony. He received some fan attention for his enthusiastic standing ovation for Rihanna after her performance.
Rihanna is expecting the couple’s second child. In a recent interview with British Vogue, she spoke glowingly about Rocky’s relationship with their firstborn, their son whose name they haven’t shared publicly yet. “I’m just sitting on the sidelines when they’re together. I’m literally the girl trying to get into the boys club, waiting for my turn,” she said. “He is obsessed with his father. And I’m like: ‘Didn’t I give birth to you? What is going on?’ Their connection is undeniable. The second Rocky makes eye contact with him he is on fire. The whole thing they say about sons and moms, it’s a myth. Sons and fathers is crazy. I realized that the validation that you really need as a boy is from your father.”

Shaquille O’Neal, 50, has become an official member of The Navy, as he defends Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show from critics.
On Friday, the four-time NBA champion spoke on the “Diamonds” singer’s halftime performance on his podcast show, The Big Podcast with Shaq, responding to her haters, telling them to “shut the f#ck up.”
“All you people disrespecting Rihanna, shut your face. Shut it up. We living in a world where people got too much freedom, keep your f—ing thoughts to yourself. She did a wonderful job. She’s pregnant, she blessed it, she did her thing, she didn’t fall. Just leave it there. All you superstars, that’s disrespectful and causing beef, shut your face,” O’Neal said.
O’Neal scorned internet trolls. He continues saying, “If she was my woman and I seen one of you superstars do that, I’m gonna have to get at you. Rappers. Presidential candidates. I’m gonna have to get at you. Leave her alone.”
On Feb. 12, Rihanna took center stage for the first time in seven years. She performed a twelve-song medley, seemingly announcing her second pregnancy with her long-time boyfriend, ASAP Rocky.
The pair welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in May last year. The highly anticipated show reached nearly 119 million views Sunday night.
The couple and their son recently posed for British Vogue for the March cover. On Instagram, Rihanna revealed she had no clue she was pregnant while shooting the cover. In an Instagram post, the Barbadian singer wrote, “my son so fine! Idc idc idc! How crazy both of my babies were in these photos and mommy had no clue .”
Over the past few days, Rihannahas completely taken over the world.
The Barbadian hottie delivered a sensational Super Bowl half-time performance sporting a baby bump. Following the game, she confirmed she and baby daddy A$AP Rocky are expecting baby no.2.
The Bad girl RiRi wasn’t done though – a couple of days later, she was unveiled as the cover star for the March edition of British Vogue.
Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and her first son all posed for the magazine in a sensational shoot.
Sharing the photos, Rihanna wrote: “My son so fine! Idc idc idc! How crazy both of my babies were in these photos and mommy had no clue Thank you so much Edward Enninful and Inez and Vinoodh for celebrating us as a family!”
Check out the photos below…
Who Is Edward Enninful?
Edward Enninful and his partner
Edward Enninful is the editor-in-chief of British Vogue and European editorial director of Condé Nast.
Enninful was born in Ghana, the fifth of six children to Major Crosby Enninful of the Ghanaian Army.
Following the ousting of General IK Acheampong from power, his family fled to the UK, settling in Ladbroke Grove, London.
His mother was a seamstress and Enninful got his love for fashion from watching her designing vivid patterns for the clothes she sewed for her friends.
The British-Ghanaian took over British Vogue as editor-in-chief on August 1, 2017. In just over two years as editor-in-chief of the famed publication, he has helped shape a new vision for fashion media — not just in the UK, but globall.
Enninful has described his vision for British Vogue as “about being inclusive. It’s not just the colour of your skin but the diversity of perspective.”
His digital prowess and drive to break the storied title into previously unreported coverage areas has seen the publication reach new, younger audiences across social media, video and online.
Digital traffic at the title grew by 7.8 percent in 2018 to 14.8 million monthly unique users, while print circulation has increased 1.1 percent since 2017.
Barbados-American singer, Rihanna, has showcased her son for the second time since birth.
This is the baby’s first official public appearance, and interestingly, he was featured in the latest edition of Vogue magazine as a cover boy.
His parents, Rihanna and Asap Rocky were captured on the front page of the magazine.
Pictures of the nine-month-old bouncy baby boy flooded the internet amidst massive reactions from netizens who set eyes on him for the first time.
Earlier on December 17, 2022, the singer shared a video of the baby on TikTok, which accumulated over a million views on the platform in just an hour.
The video includes heartwarming clips of her son talking in cute baby language, with Rihanna giggling in delight at her son’s adorableness in the background.
Meanwhile, the baby’s name has still not been officially revealed.
Rihanna made history on Sunday night when she sang at the Super Bowl for the first time while expecting. The nine-time Grammy winner took the stage wearing a red costume from head to toe, revealing a little baby bump beneath a shiny bandeau.
The 34-year-old billionaire indeed gave a fantastic performance at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show but she is not going to get paid for it. And it’s not because she is wealthy. Other celebrities who have come before her at the Super Bowl including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars also did not take home a paycheck for their performances. And this is because no one gets paid for performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.
Being one of the biggest stages in the world, the benefits artists get from exposure to fans at the show is more than a paycheck. In 2020 when Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed, the former gained over 2 million new followers across social media. The two singers also saw 267% and 187% streaming gains days after their performance, Billboard said.
Last year when Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, they also saw a major boost to their catalogs. There was a 183% increase in album sales for Dr. Dre a week after the show. Blige’s album sales also rose 999%.
Rihanna’s performance on Sunday in front of more than 100 million viewers was an opportunity for her to get back into her music career again after being missing from the stage for nearly seven years. During her absence, she grew her beauty brands Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty and welcomed her first child with A$AP Rocky. She also earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for her single “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
“It’s going to be a celebration of my catalog,” Rihanna said of her halftime show performance during a press conference last week. Halftime shows can cost more than $10 million to produce. The NFL and Apple Music are expected to pay for Rihanna’s performance, an NFL spokesperson told Forbes. It is however not known if the singer put some of her own money into the production.
Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance was nothing short of perfection.
For her 13-minute halftime show, the 34-year-old singer donned a custom Loewe flight-inspired look in a bright crimson red to pair with the stage set. The brand’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson was influenced by flight gear, with the pieces created to “build volume in step with the dynamic scenography of the show,” according to a press release.
“Defying the norm of performers stripping back layers to reveal another, Rihanna approached the reveal in reverse: starting with a simple catsuit layer, the dancers and choreography visibly construct the additional elements during each musical section,” the press release continued.
The outfit encompassed a catsuit made from silk jersey, a sculpted leather corset, and a flight suit made out of a cotton canvas. “I’m so excited to have been part of this unforgettable moment. Rihanna is a true icon, and working with her to bring these stage looks to life feels like a wild, wonderful dream,” Anderson said in a statement.
She also wore a Jacob & Co. Brilliant Skeleton Northern Lights Watch, which retails at $72,000, as well as the Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon Cross Low collaboration shoes, which you read more about here.
In addition to the Loewe look, RiRi also paid homage to her longtime friend, André Leon Talley who passed away in January 2022. As her set came to a close, she sang her hit song “Diamonds” and donned a floor-length red leather Alaïa coat, which looked very much like Talley’s scarlet-colored Norma Kamali sleeping bag coat.
Talley’s coat will be up for auction at Christie’s on Feb. 15, alongside many items from the late Vogue editor’s collection, which also includes pieces from Karl Lagerfeld, Andy Warhol, Chanel, Dapper Dan, and more.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are expecting their second child together! The singer dropped the big news in grand fashion by showing her baby bump during her epic Super Bowl LLVII halftime performance. Now, let’s take a look at how their friendship turned into a romance.
The two have sparked rumors of a relationship since the two performed onstage together for the first time in 2012, but it wasn’t until almost a decade later that the duo publically became a couple.
The two were longtime friends before they became lovers, which Rocky confirmed by publicly declaring Rihanna as the love of his life in an interview with GQ in May 2021. But before that, both had a few headline-making relationships with other people.
Rihanna was publicly linked to Chris Brown and Drake, whom she reportedly dated off and on from 2009 to 2016. Meanwhile, Rocky was previously linked to Kendall Jenner, Chanel Iman, Iggy Azalea, and Teyana Taylor.
Still, the pair’s romance seems inevitable. From their musical collaborations, similar love of fashion and beauty and their undeniable chemistry, it’s no surprise that they’ve created a beautiful life together and even welcomed a child together in 2022. Keep reading for a full timeline of the couple’s relationship.
Friendship and Frequent Supporters
The pair linked up for their first professional collaboration at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2012, where they performed a remix of Rihanna’s “Cockiness (Love It).”
The FENTY Beauty founder told Vogue in May that her romantic relationship with Rocky was slow-going at first because “people don’t get out of the friend zone very easily with me.”

“And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in,” she tells Vogue, revealing that a moment during their first encounter at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2012 was a prime example of what kind of trouble they get into. The singer recalls when Rocky joined her for the performance of her hit single, “Cockiness,” and grabbed her butt as they were dancing side by side.
“That was not part of the rehearsal! I was like, ‘What are you doing!?’” she says, admitting that her team was braced to deal with her anger after the incident but instead, she let it go. “My manager was like, ‘Oh, God, she must like this guy a little bit. She never lets this s**t slide.’”
Throughout the years, the two continued to support each other’s various ventures. In 2013, Rocky joined Rihanna as an opening act on her Diamonds World Tour from March to May and again for a handful of dates in October and November.
In September of that year, Rihanna also appeared in A$AP’s music video for “Fashion Killa,” playing his girlfriend in the foreshadowing video. The song includes the line, “Her attitude Rihanna, she get it from her mama.”
They attended the same events — though never together as a couple. The two notably caused a stir when they appeared on the red carpet at the Fashion Awards together in December 2019, sparking romance rumors after their many years of friendship.
In July 2020, Rocky appeared in Rihanna’s Fenty Skin campaign alongside Lil Nas X.
“To me, in the industry, he is one of the guys who everybody loves [his] skin. I always wanted to know, ‘How the heck do you have better skin than half these girls? I mean, what do you do?’” Rihanna told ET about working with Rocky on the campaign.
“I wanted men to be represented, because this skincare line is gender neutral. I want it to be for everyone, so you don’t get men scared to use skincare,” she continued. “We needed that male representation in the campaign, so Rocky and Lil Nas X… we wanted that representation, so men knew it was OK.”
Friends to Lovers
In August 2020, the duo got flirty in a video for GQ, during which Rocky revealed that the hardest part of working with Rihanna was “not goofing off and laughing the whole time.”
“The hardest part is not having too much fun,” he added.
Another cute moment came when Rihanna asked Rocky about his skin type. “Handsome,” he quipped in response.
Two months later, the pair was spotted with a group of friends at the Beatrice Inn in New York, an eyewitness tells ET. According to the eyewitness, Rihanna and Rocky were joined by a few friends for the outing.
“The restaurant is not at full capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions, but they have a private room in the back for VIPs and private events and Rihanna, A$AP and their friends sat there for more privacy. They also had the curtain closed as they enjoyed their meal. Rihanna and A$AP were lovely and gracious and nice to the staff. Rihanna’s bodyguards were also there. The group all left together,” the eyewitness said.
In December of that year, a source told ET that the duo had begun dating after the “Love On the Brain” singer reportedly split from her boyfriend of three years, Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel.
“They have always had amazing chemistry and Rihanna relates to A$AP and it feels natural, easy and fun,” the source said. “She feels very comfortable around him since they’ve known each other for such a long time and also feels a connection to him because his dad is from Barbados.”
The couple were later spotted celebrating Christmas together on a private yacht in Barbados with Rihanna’s family.
Nearly a year later, Rocky opened up about his relationship with Rihanna for the first time in GQ.
The “F**kin’ Problms” rapper called Rihanna “the love of my life” and “my lady.”
“[Relationships are] so much better when you got the One,” he told the magazine. “She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones… I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”
A source told ET, “Rihanna is A$AP Rocky’s dream girl and has been for a while. He’s so in love with her and they have the best time together. They’re always laughing, but also connect with each other on a deep level. They just get each other whether it comes to their senses of humor or career aspirations and more. They have a crazy connection and chemistry and are such a cute, fun, loving couple.”
In June 2021, the “Wild for the Night” rapper voiced his gratitude for his girlfriend’s support to ET during the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his new documentary, Stockholm Syndrome.
When asked how important it was to have Rihanna’s support for the doc, Rocky said it was “important having that support in real life, you know?”
“It’s amazing and I’m honestly truly blessed, for real,” Rocky added.
In September 2021, the couple made their Met Gala debut as a couple. Rihanna wore a billowing, black Balenciaga gown with a large, dramatic collar and an ornate, sparkling BVLGARI diamonds.
Rocky joined the songstress and brought all the color in an sizable wrap cloak that resembled a knitted quilt, a nod to the night’s theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” an exploration of the nation’s sartorial identity and a deep dive into American ingenuity.
Starting a Family
In January 2022, a source told ET that the singer and rapper were closer than ever, adding that they continue to be “inseparable.”
“Their relationship is in a good place,” the source said. “After a very busy fall with professional commitments, they took some time to relax and unwind and really reconnect with each other.”
Then, after months of speculation, the couple revealed that they were expecting their first child!
They announced the news with a walk through the snowy streets of A$AP’s hometown of Harlem in New York City. Rihanna showed off her bare baby bump in a pink coat and jeans while she held hands with her beau.

A source told ET that the couple felt very blessed that they’re having a baby together, and that they already considered themselves a family but having a baby together makes that bond even stronger.
“They enjoyed keeping the pregnancy a secret for as long as they could, but they’re thrilled to be able to share the news with their fans,” the source said.
According to another source, Rihanna and A$AP wanted to shoot their pregnancy announcement in Harlem because that’s where A$AP grew up and it’s a place that brings them both a lot of comfort. “They feel really at home in Harlem,” the source said. “His upbringing in Harlem shaped so much of who he is — and it hasn’t always been easy. This was a happy milestone and it felt right to shoot the photos where it all started.”
The source notes that the photos were taken early Friday morning, and Rihanna is wearing vintage Chanel. “They are such night owls, but they wanted to shoot these pics discreetly,” added the source. “It was important for Rihanna to make this announcement on her terms. She couldn’t really hide it any longer!”
In an intimate interview for Vogue‘s May cover, Rihanna not only bared her baby bump but she also opened up about her relationship with the rapper.
The singer said that although the two had begun dating before COVID-19 struck, it was only during the pandemic’s lockdown that they became truly serious.
“He became my family in that time,” she shared, describing an “epic road trip” they took in the summer of 2020 from Los Angeles to New York. The journey allowed the couple to get away from the glare of public eyes and gave them an intimacy that only comes from domestication.
“I cooked our food on this little janky grill I bought from Walmart,” she remembered. “I still have it, too. It works like nobody’s business. I love the simple things but also the grand adventures. There’s no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bulls**t, it’s just us living. I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side.”

Her pregnancy is a result of the two “just living,” as the singer revealed that there was no planning involved. “I wouldn’t say planning. But certainly not planning against it. I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of sh*t. We just had fun,” she explained. “And then it was just there on the test. I didn’t waste any time. I called him inside and showed him. Then I was in the doctor’s office the next morning and our journey began.”
While there’s no question it’ll be a challenge juggling multiple businesses and a growing family, and Rihanna openly admitted that balance has always been one of her biggest challenges, the mogul is ready to tackle whatever comes her way with a singular focus.
“My mom handled the three of us with not even close to the amount of resources that I have, so I can absolutely do it. What it looks like? I’m not sure,” she said. But she’s excited to embark on the journey!
“They’re going to teach me more than I could ever teach them. And I want them to go for it. I want to see who they are in the world, who they become,” she said of her unborn child. “Because I’m just here to keep them on the rails—a passenger as much as the driver.”
Trials and Tribulations
While Rihanna showed off her keen fashion sense with her baby bump on display and put her twist on maternity styles during date nights, fashion shows and even trips to the Target baby department, rumors began circulating around the couple.
In April, Rihanna’s shoe designer, Amina Muaddi, took to Instagram to vehemently deny having an affair with Rocky, calling the cheating rumors “fake gossip” that was “fabricated with such malicious intent.”
Muaddi, the 36-year-old shoe designer behind the Fenty 2020 collection, said she felt “an unfounded lie” never deserves a response or clarification but, in this instance, she felt compelled to address the rumor because it affected people close to her.
“I’ve always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile,” she wrote in her statement. “I initially assumed that this fake gossip — fabricated with such malicious intent — would not be taken seriously. However in the last 24h I’ve been reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to speak on topics regardless of factual basis and that nothing is off limits. Not even during what should be one of the most beautiful and celebrated times in one’s life.”
“Therefore I have to speak up as this is not only directed towards me but it is related to people I have a great amount of respect and affection for,” she continued. “While Rih is continuing to live her serene, best dressed pregnancy life and I go back to my business — I wish everyone a beautiful Easter weekend!”
Days later, Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) stemming from an alleged incident that took place in November 2021. The rapper had just returned from a vacation in Barbados with a pregnant Rihanna. He was later released after posting $550,000 bail.
A source told ET there was no question or hesitation that Rihanna would stand by Rocky. “When she’s in love with someone,” the source told ET, “she’ll do anything for them.”
When it comes to her commitment and trust of him, “Rihanna hasn’t wavered,” the source noted. “She loves him,” the source said. “He’s family.”
However, an arrest was not on their radar. “This arrest was not something they saw coming,” a source previously told ET.
“This drama is the last thing Rihanna needs right now,” that source shared. “She wants to be mellow, relaxed, and focused 100 percent on the arrival of her baby — not stressing out!”
And Baby Makes Three!
Rihanna gave birth to the couple’s first child, a baby boy, in May. A source told ET that Rihanna gave birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles with Rocky by her side, and that the family went to rest at her Los Angeles home.
“They have not left each other’s side,” the source said of the couple. “They are over the moon. She’s been looking forward to motherhood for a long time. This little boy is going to have the best baby fashion.”
“Oh my god, the mornings, like, seeing his morning face! Seeing a baby with, like, little bags and waking up and they’re just, like, startled. They’re trying to figure out where they’re at. It’s the cutest, it’s my favorite part of the day,” the singer told ET’s Rachel Smith.
Rihanna noted that she “cherished” moments like that with her son, also admitting that she has already taken to singing to the baby, making “freestyle” songs whenever she can.
“He’s amazing, he’s a happy baby,” the new mom shared.
In December, Riri took to TikTok to give the world its first look at her baby boy. The singer posted a 45-second clip of her baby, whose name the singer has not yet revealed. In the video, the baby’s sitting in his car seat looking like he’s having the time of his life, laughing and making all kinds of cute baby faces.
It appears Rihanna’s in the background also getting a kick out of the baby’s many expressions. At one point, the baby boy, who is wearing a brown jacket, lets out a cute little yawn and even tries taking the phone away from his famous mama.
A source previously told ET that the Barbados babe always dreamed of being a mom, and she takes so much pride in it that she would love nothing more than to have more children with Rocky in the future.
“Rihanna and A$AP are so in love and have the best time together,” the source added. “They are also a great team when it comes to being parents to their baby boy. Rihanna always dreamed of being a mom and she takes a lot of pride in it. She would love to have more children with A$AP in the future.”
Pregnant With Baby No. 2

Ahead of the performance, a source told ET about how A$AP has been there for her.
“A$AP has been very supportive throughout her preparation and has really been stepping up his parenting game while she has been busy with rehearsals,” the source said, adding, “[A$AP] and her son plan to be there supporting her during her big day.”
Indeed, the rapper was spotted supporting his longtime love during her big moment.
A source told ET, “Rihanna adores being a mom and it’s her biggest accomplishment in life. Her and A$AP have always wanted to grow their family and have another baby together. They have been talking about expanding their family for quite some time. Being a mom is a dream come true for Rihanna and she takes so much pride in it.”
It can be quite confusing to tell what celebrities looked like during their childhood.
For some, there is no striking resemblance, but for others, time was in their favour. Today, we look at some before and now pictures of celebrities loved by all.

Rihanna delivered an electrifying and hit-heavy half-time show at Sunday’s Super Bowl, but social media went into meltdown when the singer revealed an unexpected special guest.
In an interview last week, the Bajan singer was asked if there would be any surprises during her performance at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium.
“I’m thinking about bringing someone,” she replied. “I’m not sure, we’ll see.”
Naturally, fans assumed she was talking about one of the many artists she’s collaborated with during her illustrious career. A guest spot from Jay-Z, Drake or Eminem seemed both likely and in keeping with the half-time show tradition of surprise duets.
But Rihanna wasn’t referring to any of them. Although nobody twigged at the time, she was in fact hinting that she was pregnant with her second child.
The singer may have failed to debut any new music during her performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl, but the baby bump she debuted instead almost broke the internet.

Wearing an all-red custom jumpsuit by Loewe, Rihanna appeared on one of several floating platforms which soared high above the crowd, as a swarm of energetic dancers, all dressed in white, gathered below.
The audience went wild as the singer launched straight into Better Have My Money – a somewhat ironic opener considering she is not being paid for her Super Bowl performance.
As the 34-year-old dazzled the crowd from on high, her dancers performed beneath her at breakneck speed, in a display of razor-sharp choreography which they would maintain throughout the whole performance.
The singer rattled through several recognisable hits, front-loading her set with some of her most danceable and up-tempo numbers including Only Girl (In The World) and the excellent Where Have You Been.
It was a half-time show not short on spectacle, even once she had been lowered to the ground. Fireworks were let off above the stadium as she launched into the euphoric We Found Love.
Image caption,Rihanna’s dancers performed razor-sharp routines at breakneck speed
While rumours that the star might take the opportunity to perform new music failed to materialise, the decision to rely on her extensive back catalogue, one of the strongest in pop, was a sensible one.
The singer packed a huge number of hits into a tight 14-minute set, only performing the first verse or chorus of certain songs. But monster hits such as Rude Boy were balanced with the somewhat harder-edged and lesser-known Pour It Up.
Somewhat disappointingly, the set list took advantage of some of her best-known collaborations – without any of her collaborators actually joining her on stage.
As she performed Run This Town, All of the Lights and Wild Thoughts, there were no appearances from Jay-Z, Ye (formerly Kanye West) or DJ Khaled, who normally feature on those tracks.
But their absence didn’t matter. By this point, everyone’s attention was firmly on an entirely different, and very visible, special guest.
Which songs did Rihanna perform?

3. Only Girl (In The World)
8. Birthday Cake (instrumental) / Pour It Up
Confusion initially permeated social media as fans rushed to share their theories about Rihanna’s apparent baby bump. Many pointed out the singer is known for her body positivity and could well have just been showing off her curvier figure following her previous pregnancy.
Although the star’s bump was on display throughout, Rihanna did not draw attention to it quite as explicitly as Beyoncé did at the MTV VMAs in 2011, where she memorably dropped her microphone, unbuttoned her jacket and rubbed her belly.
But as Rihanna’s set progressed on Sunday, viewers became increasingly confident she was pregnant again, nine months after she and her partner A$AP Rocky welcomed their son.
Within an hour of Rihanna’s performance drawing to a close, as her fans debated exactly which trimester she might be in, her representatives officially confirmed the singer’s good news.
While some fans admitted to a tinge of disappointment that this will likely mean yet another delay to Rihanna’s much-anticipated ninth studio album, the reaction on social media was overwhelmingly joyful.
Rihanna fans are eagerly anticipating her performance at the Super Bowl half-time show – one of the biggest and most prestigious gigs in music.
The singer will perform during the break when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Rihanna has not toured or released an album since 2016’s Anti. The star has instead focused on her fashion brand, and last year welcomed her first child.
However, she did record a new song last year for Marvel’s Wakanda Forever.
Lift Me Up, which features on the soundtrack to the Black Panther sequel, marked Rihanna’s first new solo single for six years and has been nominated for an Oscar.
Fans hope that the 34-year-old’s Super Bowl performance could signal a bigger musical comeback later this year.
The singer said on Thursday it was initially “scary” to accept the invitation and take on one of music’s biggest stages. “I haven’t been on stage for seven years,” she said, speaking at a press conference ahead of the big game.
But she said that it was important to her to be “representing for immigrants, representing for my country, Barbados, representing for black women everywhere”.
What time and where is the Super Bowl?
Image caption, Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face each other at the Super Bowl LVII (the 57th annual championship game)
The Super Bowl is the annual final playoff game of the National Football League (NFL), to determine the league champion.
This year, the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
The Super Bowl LVII (the Roman numerals signify this is the 57th year) will take place on Sunday 12 February, with kick-off at 23:30 GMT (18:30 ET/16:30 MST).
The game usually lasts about three-and-a-half hours, with a 30-minute break in the middle, which is where an A-list pop star is hired to keep the crowds entertained.
How to follow the Super Bowl
Image caption, Deaf actor Troy Kotsur, pictured at the Super Bowl press conference on Thursday, will sign the national anthem
UK viewers can watch the game and half-time show live on ITV1 and the recently-launched streaming service ITVX, with coverage beginning at 22:45 GMT. It is also being shown on Sky Sports, starting at 22:00.
There will be live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live, and live text on the BBC Sport website and app, which will also have post-match video highlights.
In the US, it will air on Fox, and also be streamed on the Fox Sports website and app, the NFL+ app, as well as Hulu, fuboTV, Roku TV and Sling TV.
Rihanna won’t be the only star involved in the Super Bowl proceedings. Coda star Troy Kotsur, who won an Oscar last year for his performance in the Apple TV film, will sign US national anthem this year.
Which songs will Rihanna perform?
Image caption, Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky (pictured at the Met Gala in 2021) welcomed their first child last May
Nobody knows for sure which songs will make the cut. Half-time show set lists and a performer’s special guests are shrouded in secrecy to ensure fans are surprised on the night.
“The setlist was the biggest challenge,” Rihanna told Apple Music on Thursday. “You’re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes.”
But the star should be able to squeeze in quite a few of her many hits, particularly as performers often play only short snippets of some songs so they can cover more of their back catalogue.
Speculating about the possible song list is part of the fun for fans. Gossip outlet Deuxmoi quoted a source last week who suggested Rihanna would stick to her older, best-known hits, but added that the set list is being constantly tweaked and polished.
At Thursday’s press conference, Rihanna confirmed, only half-jokingly, that there are “about 39 versions of the set list right now”.
Half-time performers also often invite very special guests to appear alongside them. Coldplay brought out Beyoncé and Bruno Mars, while Katy Perry hosted Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz.
But teaming up with other stars can often result the most controversial moments of half-time shows, such as Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” and M.I.A.’s choice of hand gesture when she joined Madonna.
Why is the half-time show important?
Image caption, Snoop Dogg (pictured) performed last year, alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J Blige
Headlining the Super Bowl is one of the biggest and most prestigious gigs in music, due to the astronomically large TV audience both in the US and around the world.
About 100 million viewers watched last year’s Super Bowl in the US alone, while Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent’s half-time show added a further 160m views on YouTube.
In recent years, YouTube has become an increasingly important component of a half-time show’s impact. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, who jointly headlined in 2020, notched up 264m plays of their set – the highest of any half-time show to date.
Other headliners at the Super Bowl over the years have included Lady Gaga, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson.
Given the number of viewers watching, a well-received and hit-heavy performance can have a huge impact on an artist’s streaming and sales figures in the weeks following the Super Bowl.
When is Rihanna’s next album out?
Image caption, Rihanna pictured at January’s Golden Globes with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler
Rihanna’s return to live performing has prompted speculation that new music from her could finally be on the way.
The singer used to churn out one album a year, but took an extended break from music after 2016’s Anti, resurfacing only occasionally to work with other artists.
Her last genuinely massive hit was 2017’s Wild Thoughts, a collaboration with DJ Khaled and and Bryson Tiller, which the trio performed at the following year’s Grammy Awards.
Since then, she has had her first child with her partner A$AP Rocky and continued to build her fashion and cosmetics brand Fenty.
As a result, music has taken a back seat, but in 2022 she released her first new solo single for six years, Lift Me Up.
Image caption, Rihanna’s contribution to the Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2022 marked her first new solo single for six years
That has catapulted Rihanna into this year’s film awards season. She attended the Golden Globes last month, where the track was nominated, and she is also up for best original song at the Oscars on 12 March.
Her absence from the world of music has lasted so long, the huge anticipation for her new album has become something of a running joke.
“I’m going to say something very controversial,” he said. “Rihanna, you take all the time you want on that album girl. Don’t let these fools on the internet pressure you into nothing.”
With her undeniable talent, relentless work ethic, and keen business acumen, 34-year-old singer and entrepreneurRobyn “Rihanna” Fenty has cemented her place in history by becoming the youngest self-made billionaire in America, according to Forbes.
This extraordinary accomplishment is a testament to her unwavering dedication to her craft, her astute understanding of the fashion industry, and her ability to identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the market.
Rihanna’s multi-faceted success can be attributed to her flourishing cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, her illustrious music career, and her innovative lingerie line, Savage X Fenty. Her net worth stands at $1.4 billion due to a slight decrease from the previous year’s valuation of $1.7 billion.
Her music career has been a major source of income for Rihanna, with hit albums and sold-out tours generating millions of dollars in revenue. But it’s her forays into the beauty and fashion industries that have truly propelled her to billionaire status.
Fenty Beauty, which she launched in 2017, has become a global phenomenon, for its inclusivity and wide range of shades for women of all skin tones. The brand has since expanded to include a variety of products, from concealers to lip glosses, and has been a major contributor to her fortune.
Similarly, her lingerie line Savage X Fenty, launched in 2018, has become a popular destination for women looking for comfortable and sexy undergarments.
These are the three assets that have helped Rihanna achieve billionaire status:
#1 Fenty Beauty
Her stake in the cosmetics company is worth $1.1 billion
Rihanna, the third R&B and hip-hop artist to become a billionaire, earned the majority of her $1.4-billion fortune from her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty.
Launched in 2017 as a partnership with LVMH, the company’s products are available on Sephora shelves and online in over 150 countries, with 2020 revenue exceeding $550 million.
In 2022, Fenty Beauty launched in eight African countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, and Kenya, as part of a strategy to expand the business and capitalize on opportunities on the continent.
In addition to Fenty Beauty, Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage x Fenty has also achieved billion-dollar success. In February 2021, the brand raised $125 million in a funding round led by Neuberg Berman, valuing the company at $1 billion. This brings its total venture capital funding since its launch to an impressive $310 million.
The company which is 30-percent owned by Rihanna launched in 2018 in partnership with TechStyle Fashion Group, boasts investors such as Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners and private equity firm L. Catterton, which includes Bernard Arnault as a shareholder.
#3 Rihanna’s net earnings from her career
With a successful career spanning across music and acting, Rihanna has amassed a significant fortune, with estimates placing her net earnings at approximately $30 million. However, this figure has yet to be officially confirmed by the artist herself or by reputable sources such as Forbes.
What you should know
Rihanna is expanding her Fenty brand even further with the filing of two applications for Fenty Hair with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
This move signals her intention to launch a comprehensive haircare line that will complement her already successful Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty lingerie lines.
Fenty Hair collection will encompass a wide array of hair accessories, including hairbands, bows, clips, ribbons, scrunchies, wigs, curlers, pins, brushes, and combs, further solidifying the Fenty brand’s dominance in the fashion and cosmetics industries.

#2 Savage x Fenty
Her stake in the lingerie line is worth $270 million

Ahead of the Prime Video premiere of Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4, Rihanna fans have been given more insight on the inspiration behind the multihyphenate’s plans for her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance next year.
Speaking with Terri Seymour for Extra, as seen below, Rihanna said it was “now or never” when it came to taking on the unique challenges of staging a performance at this scale.
“There’s this weird shit that happens when you become a mom,” Rihanna said around the 3:40 mark in the video below. “You just, you unleash or unlock other parts of your superpowers. You feel like you can take on the world. You can do anything, right? After you have a baby, you can do anything.”
Adding to that, Rihanna pointed to the larger challenge at the heart of this type of performance and how she felt compelled to tackle it.
“It was one of those things where I wasn’t really sure because it is a big stage and it has been a while, you know, but I wanted to take on a challenge,” Rihanna said. “I wanted to do something that would force me to get back on stage, really. Because when you’re a mom, it’s not important really. Everything is at the bottom of the priority list.”
As for whether she could reveal who may or may not be joining her at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, including ASAP Rocky, Rihanna noted that, for now at least, her “lips are sealed” when it comes to further announcements. In fact, Rihanna noted, she hasn’t arrived at a final decision yet.
Earlier into the discussion, Rihanna spoke more generally about motherhood, calling it “fascinating” and “the most love” she’s ever known (Rihanna and Rocky were revealed to have welcomed a child together, their first, back in May).
“I’m patient now,” she said. “I thought I was getting better at patience but this will sit you down. You are forced to be patient as a mom, as a parent in general. Your tolerance goes down but your patience goes up, if that makes any sense somehow.”
She also told the Washington Post why she hasn’t revealed her son’s name or shared a photo. “We just didn’t get around to it yet really,” she said, “We’ve just been living.
She added that perhaps “there’s a certain freedom that comes with kind of just, like, getting it out there.”
She also opened up about motherhood with Access Hollywood
[It’s] not a chapter, it’s like a new book,” she told the outlet. “Life starts over when you become a parent, it’s life that you’ve never known before.”
Elsewhere, Rihanna was asked about new music and was also tasked with politely declining to give an answer to an inquiry of the wedding variety. See more below.
In a separate interview conducted amid the same Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 proceedings, Rihanna spoke in greater detail about her plans for more new music following her recent return with a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack single. After pointing out that it is “not true” that she wouldn’t have done the Super Bowl without new music also being on the horizon, Rihanna shared a special message for fans.
“Super Bowl is one thing, new music is another thing,” she said around the 3:41 mark in the video below, per the Associated Press. “Do you hear that, fans? Because I knew, the second I announced this, they’re gonna think my album is coming. I need to get work. But I do have new music coming out. But we’ll see. Unrelated, but a special project.”
The 19-track album is expected to be released on November 14, 2022, and the Black Panther sequel will hit theatres on November 11.
The official soundtrack album has a number of artistes including six Nigerian artistes. Singer and songwriter Rihanna’s new song ‘Lift Me Up’ features on the album.
Burna Boyis featured on track three titled ‘Alone’ while Tems’ version of the Bob Marley classic ‘No Woman No Cry’ is on track four.
Fireboy DML is also on track nine ‘Coming Back For You’. Ckay is featured on track 13 ‘Anya Mmiri’ with British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress.
Nigerian artiste, Bloody Civilian and her colleague Rema, are on track 14 ‘Wake Up’. Rema appears again on track 15 ‘Pantera’ with Mexican artiste Alemán.
Meanwhile, British-Ghanaian rapper Stormzy is also featured on the track.
On October 3, the official trailer for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ was released.
The plot details of the film have largely been kept under wraps but Marvel introduces a new character Namor (who is referred to as “the Feathered Serpent God” by M’Baku) and is seemingly the antagonist in this sequel.
Director Ryan Coogler introduced series newcomers; Tenoch Huerta, who plays the main antagonist Namor, Mabel Cadena, Alex Livinalli, Dominique Thorne, who will debut as the young power-suited hero Ironheart, and Michaela Coel during Marvel’s Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in July.
The sequel will be without the star of the first film, Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 from colon cancer. Coogler returns to direct, additionally co-writing the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole.
“Lift Me Up” from the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack was released Friday. The song is already a hit with her faithful fan base, known as Rihanna’s Navy.
The singer teased the release of the song on Wednesday. Within an hour of her posting the 14-second teaser, there were more than 70,000 tweets generated about it, according to Twitter.
The new song begins with Rihanna humming the melody before she launches into the emotional lyrics.
“Lift me up/Hold me down/Keep me close/Safe and sound,” she sings. “Burning in a hopeless dream/Hold me when you go to sleep/Keep me in the warmth of your love when you depart/Keep me safe, safe and sound.”
Rihanna also debuted a moving music video for the song on Friday, featuring scenes from the movie.
The song was written by Rihanna, fellow artist Tems, Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson and “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler as a tribute to the late “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman died in 2020 at age 43 following a private battle with colon cancer.
There is already plenty of reaction to the song on social media, including one person who threw in a hopeful prediction by tweeting, “just finished listening to rihanna’s future oscar winning song lift me up.”
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Music From and Inspired By” will be released on November 4 and the film hits theaters a week later.
Rihanna has released her first solo single in six years, a song from the upcoming Black Panther sequel’s soundtrack.
Lift Me Up was released on Friday, following the singer’s social media tease of her return to music earlier this week.
The song will be featured in Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is due out in November.
Director Ryan Coogler said Rihanna’s involvement in the project was to honour the late actor Chadwick Boseman.
“Honestly, I think it was Chad,” he said. “A lot of improbable things needed to happen for it to come through and Rihanna was very clear that she did that for him.”
Boseman starred in the first Black Panther film and also appeared in Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges, and the James Brown biopic Get On Up.
He died in 2020, four years after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Last year, Boseman was posthumously nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Coogler added: “We knew [Rihanna] was at a point in her life as well where she was focusing on different things – focused on business, motherhood, which is a big theme in our film. We were holding out hope that maybe it could work out and boy did it for this song.”
Lift Me Up has been co-written by Rihanna, Coogler, and Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems, who has previously worked with Drake, Justin Bieber, Future, Wizkid, Beyonce, and Khalid.
The song is produced and co-written by Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson, who scored the first Black Panther film as well as Creed, Venom, and Tenet.
It is downtempo but uplifting and sees Rihanna’s distinctive vocals projected over a smooth accompaniment of delicate keys and strings. The singer is accompanied by a subtle backing choir as the atmospheric song builds to its climax.
She sings: “Lift me up, hold me down, keep me close, safe and sound / Hold me when you go to sleep, keep me in the warmth of your love when you depart, keep me safe and sound.”
Fans warmly welcomed the release of the single on social media, with many joking via a string of memes that the song was making them levitate, but others describedit as a “disappointing” comeback and “definitely a movie soundtrack song”.

Lift Me Up is the first solo single from Rihanna since the release of her album Anti in 2016.
Since then, she has collaborated with other artists such as PartyNextDoor and N.E.R.D. and appeared on the hugely successful Wild Thoughts alongside DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller.
But the singer has largely stayed quiet on the music front in recent years, as she focused on expanding her fashion, lingerie, skincare, and cosmetics brand Fenty, as well as recently having a baby boy with rapper A$AP Rocky.
She also appeared opposite Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett in 2018’s film Ocean’s 8, an all-female reboot of the Ocean’s 11 franchise.
Rihanna will headline the prestigious half-time show at February’s Super Bowl in Arizona, her first live performance in over five years.
Her involvement in Wakanda Forever will increase fans’ anticipation for the sequel to Black Panther, which was a huge box office success and scored a best picture nomination at the Oscars.
The movie, released on 11 November, will see stars including Letitia Wright and Lupita Nyong’o reprise their roles as the kingdom of Wakanda fights to protect itself from invading forces in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.
