Koku Anyidoho endorses Mahama’s vision to restore Ghana with prayer and hard work

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has expressed his support for President-elect John Mahama’s vision of resetting Ghana, which emphasizes the importance of hard work and prayer.

Mahama has often highlighted these two values as key pillars for the country’s future governance.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on January 1, 2024, Anyidoho echoed this sentiment, reflecting on the late President John Atta Mills’ leadership style, which was also strongly rooted in hard work and prayer.

He believes in the power of prayer and endorses Mahama’s approach for the nation’s success.

“I saw President Mills work hard and also depend on his belief in God through fervent prayers. He personally prayed before and after every Cabinet meeting.

I personally believe in prayers. If we are resetting to the days of fervent prayer and hard work, great yes. Ghana, First praying,” he stated.

During his 2024 election campaign, John Mahama promised that, if elected, he would declare a ‘National Day of Prayer’ to seek divine guidance for his leadership.

Since his victory, Mahama has reaffirmed this commitment, emphasizing that prayer will play a key role in his governance moving forward.

In his New Year message, Mahama pledged, “This is the time we need to engage in fervent prayers more than we did during the campaign, for God to grant us the strength and wisdom to implement measures that will make Ghana a better place to live.

All I will say is that it is finished; God has already done it.

“We will work tirelessly to correct the outgoing administration’s many wrongs, tackle corruption with dogged determination, and reduce excessive government expenditures.”

Why didn’t you join ‘#Enough is Enough’ demo with your family? – Anyidoho quizzes Mahama

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has questioned why former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer, was absent from the ‘Enough is Enough’ protest held by the party on September 17.

In a post on his X account, Anyidoho criticized Mahama and his family for not participating in the demonstration, accusing them of staying away while encouraging others to protest.

“So, after inciting NDC supporters onto the streets, JM and his family stayed at home huh? The monkeys should go and die for the baboons to stay alive and walk on blood to power huh? We live to see. Ghana shall NOT die.”

He expressed his frustration with a statement suggesting that the sacrifices of the protesters might be in vain.

The NDC’s demonstration was aimed at demanding an overhaul of the voter register to ensure credible elections.

National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia emphasized the importance of a transparent electoral process and warned of the threats facing Ghana’s democracy.

After the protest, Mahama addressed the issue on his X platform, highlighting that the demonstration was not merely about calling for an audit but was also about upholding justice, fairness, and democratic rights.

He urged the Electoral Commission to maintain the trust Ghanaians have placed in it.

Mahama also expressed gratitude to the NDC supporters and executives for their participation and reiterated the need for a transparent electoral process as he continued his campaign tour in the Ahafo Region.

You’re being “fooled” if you think you will win December polls – Koku Anyidoho to NDC

The former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho, has urged party members to dismiss a survey conducted by Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Musa Danquah, which suggests that the party will emerge victorious in the December polls.

The opinion survey, conducted on May 31, 2024, across selected constituencies in the Greater Accra Region, highlighted challenges faced by the ruling party, traditionally strong in these areas, six months prior to the general election.

The poll revealed notable shifts in voting preferences. In constituencies like Okaikwei Central, Okaikwei South, Anyaa Sowutuom, and Trobu—where the NPP garnered an average of 62% of the vote in 2020—former President John Mahama now leads with 40.5%.

Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia followed closely with 36%, while Nana Kwame Bediako of New Force and Alan Kyeremanten of Movement for Change trail with 1.8% and 1.7%, respectively.

Significantly, 10.4% of voters remain undecided, and 9.4% have declared they will abstain from voting.

Taking to the X platform Mr. Anyidoho, criticized the survey, alleging it was crafted to mislead and exploit the party for personal gain.

“John Mahana is busy cooling off in Russia enjoying while Greater Accra NDC is on fire . So if Musa Danquah lies to the NDC that JM will win G/A by 70%, they should know that he is just fooling them and chopping money freeeeee!!!!!!!,” he wrote.

He has sunk himself deeper into the grassroots – Anyidoho on Bawumia’s campaign in the rain

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has praised NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for defying all odds to campaign in the rain at Chereponi in the Northern Region.

Anyidoho beliefs that Dr Bawumia’s sense of energy and excitement expressed at Chereponi shapes the course of his campaign in a positive direction.

In a post spotted by The Independent Ghana (TIGpost), Mr Anyidoho wrote, “So, Bawumia has decided that he would continue to positively change the campaign narrative huh? He has sunk himself deeper into the grassroots campaign and is working even in the rain to win hearts and minds. This is DMB in Chereponi today. The adrenaline is pumping.”

Thousands of residents of Chereponi on Thursday, July 11, 2024, defied early morning rains to offer a mammoth reception for the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia immediately he got down from his campaign bus and walked through the rains on the main street to engage them.

NAPO’s recent apology shows he is not arrogant – Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho has lauded the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate for the 2024 general election, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) over his recent apology.

According to Mr Anyidoho, arrogance tag on NAPO is contrary to his recent action as people in that category do not acknowledge their mistakes.

He added that NAPO must be vindicated as he has shown a sign of maturity and remorsefulness.

“God has His ways of making things beautiful in His time. I know that arrogant people DON’T accept their mistakes, let alone find humble space in their hearts to apologize. If Napo has been humble enough to apologize, he has proven that he is NOT arrogant. Brave men apologize💪🇬🇭,” he added.

NAPO had claimed that President Akufo-Addo’s achievements surpasses those of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and other former presidents.

NAPO made these remarks during a ceremony in Kumasi, Ashanti Region to unveil him as the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate in the upcoming December Polls.

He stated, “Since independence from 1957 till today, we’ve not had any president that has helped Ghana like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. I say from 1957 till today, you can bring your Kwame Nkrumah… no president who has protected Ghana and moved the country forward like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”.

Akufo-Addo must set precedence by asking for nothing when he leaves office – Koku Anyidoho

A former presidential spokesperson, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to decline a statutory office and residence once his term ends in January 2025.

Anyidoho described the practice of providing retired presidents with such facilities as a “despicable culture” that must be discontinued.

On June 20, 2024, he announced on X that he would contemplate organizing a protest to reinforce the demand that retired presidents should not receive state property or be supported by the state in their retirement.

“This despicable culture must stop. I will also organize a demonstration to stop all Presidents from acquiring state property after they enjoy all the largesse of state while in office. It is extremely disgraceful. Prez Akufo-Addo must ask for nothing to set a precedent,” he captioned his post.

Accompanying the post was a letter dated 2016 from the outgoing President at the time, John Dramani Mahama, wherein he requested specific buildings designated as his office and residence, as provided for by law for former presidents.

Atta Mills was honored with a street name by Vanderpuye, what did you do? – Anyidoho to Mahama

Former spokesperson for late President John Evans Atta Mills, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has criticized Mills’ vice president for neglecting to honor the late president after assuming office.

Anyidoho, known for his frequent criticisms of former President John Dramani Mahama, strongly asserted that during Mahama’s presidency, no significant national or regional monument was named after Mills.

Mahama served a brief period finishing Mills’ term in 2012 before being elected for a full term later that year.

In a post dated June 18, 2024, Anyidoho pointed out that even a former Mayor of Accra (now MP for Ablekuma South, NDC) had named a stretch of road in Accra after the late president, but his vice president failed to take similar action.

“As we continue to speak to facts, do you know that apart from Oko Vanderpuye using his position as Mayor of Accra, to name the High Street after President Atta-Mills, JM on his own did NOT name anything after his late boss?” Anyidoho quizzed.

Anyidoho has also accused Mahama of neglecting the upkeep of Asomdwee Park, where Mills was laid to rest. Recently, the park was renovated through efforts from Anyidoho’s Atta Mills Institute in collaboration with the Coastal Development Authority (CoDA).

In August 2012, shortly after Mills’ passing, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly under Alfred Oko Vanderpuije’s leadership decided to rename the Accra High Street and the new Millennium City School at the Salvation Army Cluster of Schools after the late president John Evans Atta Mills.

During an urgent assembly meeting to approve the name changes, it was decided that the Accra High Street would be known as “Evans Atta Mills Street”, while the Salvation Army Cluster of Schools as will now be known as “President Evans Atta Mills Educational Center of Excellence”.

Mayor of the City, Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, announced that these changes would be implemented even before Mills’ funeral on August 10, 2012.

  • “This is hot! Where is Bawumia getting these campaign ideas from? – Koku Anyidoho

“This is hot! Where is Bawumia getting these campaign ideas from? – Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has once again taken to social media platform X to express his views on the political scene.

This time, his focus is on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana, and his campaign strategies.

Anyidoho posted a video showing a group of enthusiastic individuals chanting Dr. Bawumia’s name and screaming, “We want Bawumia.”

In his post, Anyidoho seemed intrigued by the Vice President‘s approach to connecting with the grassroots.

“So where is Bawumia getting all these campaign ideas from? Look at the ‘pali-pali’ manner in which he is connecting to the grass roots? Honestly, I am bemused! This is really HOT,” Anyidoho wrote.

Anyidoho’s comments come at a time when political campaigns are intensifying, with candidates employing various strategies to engage with voters.

As a former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Anyidoho’s public statements often draw significant attention. His praise for the current administration and criticism of Mahama continue to fuel discussions within the political landscape.

As the election season heats up, such endorsements, even from unexpected quarters, could play a significant role in shaping public perception and voter support.

This latest post adds to the series of public expressions by Anyidoho that underscore his estrangement from the NDC and his evolving political stance.

  • Your “sharing the meat of Ghana” remark is shameful – Koku Anyidoho to Aseidu Nketia

Your “sharing the meat of Ghana” remark is shameful – Koku Anyidoho to Aseidu Nketia

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has issued a response to recent comments made by the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

Mr. Nketia, commonly known as General Mosquito, advised party members to prioritize winning the 2024 elections over discussions about future government positions.

He likened such premature discussions to dividing meat before the hunt concludes.

Asiedu Nketia made these remarks during the official introduction of the party’s running mate for the 2024 elections, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, to party members at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

However, Mr. Anyidoho, a vocal critic of General Mosquito, took to the social media platform X to criticize him.

“Growing up in Burma-Camp in the Heart & Heat of June 4, 1979 Uprising & December 31, 1981 Revolution – birthing PNDC/NDC, it’s a BIG embarrassment to me that after all we went through as a nation, my NDC can be shamelessly talking about “sharing the meat” of Ghana. Disgraceful,” he wrote.

He accused the NDC Chairman of hypocrisy, suggesting that his focus is solely on securing positions for himself and his allies.

Furthermore, another post by Anyidoho questioned the sincerity of the Chairman’s dedication to the party’s objectives, highlighting his emphasis on position-sharing rather than prioritizing Ghana’s welfare.

Greedy bastard, you are rallying NDC supporters against the govt that is feeding you – Ayindoho to Aseidu Nketia

Former deputy general-secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has made allegations against the current National Chairman, Johnson Aseidu Nketia (General Mosquito).

Taking to the X platform, Mr Anyidoho accused Mr Nketia of engaging in actions that he deems hypocritical and self-serving.

Mr Anyidoho’s accusations are centered around what he perceives as inconsistencies in Mr Nketia’s behavior and a failure to uphold ethical standards within the party.

Specifically, Mr Anyidoho pointed out Aseidu Nketia’s past and present involvement with the Public Services Board (PSB), suggesting that despite holding different positions within the party, Aseidu Nketia continues to benefit from ties to the PSB.

Furthermore, he accused General Mosquito of inciting NDC supporters to protest against the government while simultaneously benefiting from governmental support himself.

Mr Anyidoho condemned Nketia for allegedly exploiting his position within the party to rally supporters against the very government that provides for him.

In addition to criticizing Mr Nketia’s actions, he implied complicity on the part of media figures who support Mr Nketia, suggesting that they too benefit from government resources while maintaining an appearance of independence.

“Greedy bastard! As General Secretary u were on PSB; as National Chairman u r on PSB. Yet you incite innocent NDC supporters to rally against the Govt that is feeding you. The media guys who support you r also chopping from Govt & they think we don’t know”, he wrote.

Probe Ataa-Mills’ death since NDC is interested in that of John Kumah’s and 2 others – Anyidoho to govt

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has expressed his frustration over the lack of progress in resolving the murders of former President John Fiifi Atta-Mills.

His concerns surfaced following the call by the NDC’s national chairman, Aseidu Nketia (General Mosquito), for the government to investigate the deaths of three Members of Parliament (MPs).

On his X platform, Anyidoho shared his apprehension, stating, “If Mosquito is soooo concerned about the killing of 3 NPP MPs, I am also soooo concerned about the killing of President Atta-Mills.”

In an opinion piece, Mr Anyidoho analyzed the reactions surrounding John Kumah’s death, highlighting what he perceives as hypocrisy in political discourse.

He pointed out the inconsistency of individuals who engage in partisan politics while demanding transparency regarding Kumah’s death but criticize others, including himself, for seeking the same regarding the late President John Evans Atta-Mills.

Mr Anyidoho raised questions about the circumstances surrounding Atta-Mills’ death, suggesting that poisoning might have been involved.

He emphasized the importance of transparency, especially considering Atta-Mills’ status as Ghana’s former president and the first head of state to die in office.

Mr Anyidoho argued that the government has a responsibility to disclose the cause of death in such cases.

“In my belief of being consistent with my principled convictions – especially on the national platform, I have no qualms about the calls being made for the cause of John Kumah’s death to be investigated and made public especially because he was a public official on the payroll of the Republic of Ghana.

However it is very interesting and stinkingly hypocritical that, very unprincipled characters who choose to play stinking silly partisan politics with every issue, are jumping all over themselves on the issue of John Kumah’s death, but turn around to call some of us names for demanding same as regards the death of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills .

Since the issue of alleged poisoning has entered the political arena, who says that the late President John Evans Atta-Mills did not also die from poisoning?

“I repeat: who says the late President Atta-Mills did not also die from poisoning? Both the late President Atta-Mills and John Kumah, were state actors of public repute – but the late President was the Number One citizen of Ghana and also the first ever President of the Republic to have died in office and that makes it more of an important imperative for the State to tell the nation the cause of death,”.

It is not clear what inspired his the allegation but he took to X to write, “Maybe, he was part of the evil conspiracy for “nature to scheme” for his brother President Atta-Mills to “give way”. Judas Judas Judas.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Anyidoho heightened his scathing attack on the NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama on Friday.

In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, he said the former President is ‘power drunk’.

This is his reaction to Mahama’s comments during a rally in the Ashanti Region where he said the party is not going to beg to join their course.

In his engagement with a huge crowd, John Dramani Mahama said the NDC train has already taken off and won’t pay attention to critics who expect to have their backside wiped.

Reacting to the comments, Samuel Koku Anyidoho said John Mahama should focus on cleaning his backside before talking about others.

“You too, nobody go clean your stinky nyash.

“You are not more human than anyone oooo!!! Clean your nyash first before thinking about the nyash of others,” the former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC said.

President Akufo-Addo has endorsed the demand for the inclusion of the late John Atta Mills‘ autopsy report in official public records.

The inquiry into the existence and availability of an autopsy report verifying the cause of the former President’s death arose during a visit by the Odomaa Clan of Ekumfi and Koku Anyidoho to the Jubilee House.

The purpose of the visit was to convey appreciation for the government’s refurbishment of Asomdwoe Park, the final resting place of the late President Mills.

Kyedomhene of Ekumfi Asaman, Nana Enyimfua III urged the presidency to release the autopsy report to the family, emphasizing that 11 years have passed, and the family is yet to know the cause of death.

Anyidoho dares Mahama, Mosquito to dismiss Kwetey over decadence in NDC comment

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has asserted vindication for his stance on the party’s moral decline under the present leadership.

Pointing to a recent acknowledgment by NDC General Secretary Fifi Kwetey that the party needed internal reforms, Samuel Koku Anyidoho implied that his alleged dismissal from the party was a consequence of advocating for similar changes.

He issued a challenge to the current chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the party’s leader, John Dramani Mahama, urging them to undertake similar actions against Kwetey. Anyidoho pointed out that Asiedu Nketiah, in his previous role as the party scribe, supervised the proceedings that resulted in Anyidoho’s expulsion for anti-party conduct.

“Let the Chairman and the Leader of the NDC dare come out and sack the General Secretary if they have the “balls” to do so,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

His post was accompanied by Kwetey’s speech at the commemorative anniversary of the 31st December Revolution that marked the second coming into office of former president Jerry John Rawlings as a military leader in 1981.

“There is real decay and that decay continues to be in the NDC today. So, I don’t want us the NDC to pretend that 31st is simply a day to bash NPP, (the) NPP is not the issue, the issue is bigger than NPP.

“The decay even within the NPP must stop with that blazing fire and that is what this business is about,” Kwetey submitted.

He stressed that unless the NDC rids itself of the internal decay, the 2024 victory will be meaningless.

“It is in vain if we win power only to continue what we see, only to do some of the things that we are seeing and only to claim we are doing less, that is not enough,” he cautioned.

Koku Anyidoho masterminded my treason charge – Ken Agyapong alleges

Flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has alleged that former National Democratic Congress Deputy General Secretary, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, masterminded the treason charge leveled against him in 2012.

Addressing delegates of the NPP in the Hohoe Constituency on Sunday, June 11, 2023, Kennedy Agyapong claimed that the former Director of Communications at the presidency orchestrated a campaign portraying him as anti-Ewe, leading to his arrest and subsequent charge of treason.

“I was charged with treason. Koku Anyidoho incited the media against me, saying, ‘Kennedy Agyapong says they should go and kill Ewes.’ By five PM, the police had surrounded Oman FM. I reported myself the next day. I was there when Koku Anyidoho called from Prof. Mills’ office for them to charge me with treason, and they did because I was defending NPP,” alleged the flagbearer hopeful.

Kennedy Agyapong faced charges of attempted treason, genocide, and terrorism in 2012 after allegedly making tribal comments on Oman FM, a private radio station owned by him. However, the charges were later dropped, and he was charged with lesser offenses of conduct conducive to the breach of peace and causing fear and alarm.

In April 2013, a circuit court acquitted and discharged Kennedy Agyapong of all charges.

During his address to the delegates on Sunday night, the flagbearer hopeful dismissed allegations of being anti-Ewe.

“I want to tell you, amidst the ongoing propaganda that Kennedy Agyapong doesn’t like Ewes, that if you don’t know, let me inform you today. My wife is from Adidome, and I am glad the minister is here. In fact, before I speak, clap for me. Do you know why I am asking you to clap for me? I’ve given you four beautiful, intelligent girls, and they have all attended the best universities in the world,” he stated.

The Volta Region, predominantly populated by people of the Ewe tribe, remains the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

Also indicate that Mahama offered you ambassadorial role and you rejected it – Apaak hits back at Anyidoho

Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr Clement Apaak, has denied claims by Koku Anyidoho, the former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), suggesting he was sacked by John Mahama less than 48 hours after the death of former President John Evans Atta-Mills.

Contrary to Anyidoho’s assertions, Clement Apaak has suggested that it was, in fact, Koku who turned down an ambassadorial position offered to him by former President John Dramani Mahama.

Apaak further disclosed that Anyidoho was allowed to continue serving as a presidential staffer assigned to national security until January 2017.

Taking to Twitter, Apaak responded directly to Anyidoho’s claims, stating, “… also indicate that JM offered you an ambassadorial position and you turned it down. He allowed you to continue as a presidential staffer assigned to national security. You served in this capacity till 7/1/2017 and, like the rest of us, took ex-gratia.”

Dr. Kwabena Duffour is the best candidate for the NDC – Koku Anyidoho

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former deputy general secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), believes Dr. Kwabena Duffour is the best candidate for the NDC in the general election of 2024.

He asserts that Dr. Duffour possesses all the characteristics required of the party’s flagbearer.

He emphasized that the economy is currently in a terrible situation that will require someone like Kwabena Duffour, who has previously overseen the nation’s finances to fix it.

“Given the current state of the economy, which needs to be fixed, it is now appropriate for someone with financial experience to assume charge of the affairs of the country, ” Samuel Koku Anyidoho told Kwaku Owusu Adjei(Patoo) on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9.

According to him, Duffour’s track record and calm demeanor serves as a selling point for him to win the next election.

“Dr. Duffour’s experiences cannot, in any way, be compared to Mahama. Duffour may be “trying” to rule Ghana, but he is a superior choice. He has a particular history. He arrived with Mills and provided superior economic data; he is a businessman who later accepted a position as a lecturer at Legon; and he was one of the top governors of the Bank of Ghana,” he added.

Koku Anyidoho to act as Duffour’s agent in upcoming NDC presidential primaries

The former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has stated that he will serve as a representative for Dr Kwabena Duffuor in the incoming presidential primaries.

Mr Anyidoho was expelled from the party in 2021 after the disciplinary committee of the NDC found him guilty of misconduct and anti-party behaviour.

However, speaking to the media in Koforidua at the sidelines of an event which he was guest speaker, Mr Anyidoho described his dismissal from the party as mere persecution which is not grounded in law, therefore, is null and void.

He believes he is still a bonafide member of the NDC, hence he will take part in the upcoming primaries.

“Today is 6th of May technically we were supposed to be voting a week from today to elect Flag-bearer and our parliamentarians. I will vote in my capacity as a former national officer and a former appointee. I have a new a new card and let Asiedu Nketia come and remove my vote from the register.”

Mr Anyidoho declared support for Dr Duffuor, adding that he will serve as agent for him in the primaries.

“Secondary on that score, I am supporting Dr Kwabena Duffuor in the Presidential primary. I am not supporting John Mahama and that is one of the reasons why they said they have sacked me from the party because I have said I won’t support John Mahama, I am not a slave to John Mahama and I refuse to be a slave to him.”

Mr Anyidoho emphasised that Dr Duffuor’s competency in managing the economy far outweighs former President Mahama.

“Dr Duffuor was the Finance Minister under John Evans Atta Mills so he worked with President Mills I worked with him I know what Dr Duffuor stands for in terms of building the economy that President Mills built: 32, 34 months single digit inflation, introduction of single spine, clearing of the arrears , Infrastructure expansion, three public Universities in three and half years, health facilities all over, I believe that Dr Duffuor has the potential by training, by competence, by experience both in public and private life,” he said.

Mr Anyidoho further urged the Electoral Commission to address concerns raised by the campaign team of Dr Duffuor on delayed release of voters register.

According to him, if the concerns raised by the Duffuor campaign team are not immediately addressed before Saturday 12th May, 2023 there will be legal consequences.

Meanwhile, Dr Duffuor says the May 13 presidential primary must be free, fair and transparent to ensure unity after the elections.

‘Bitter’ Anyidoho pokes Mahama for not receiving any US Presidential visit while in office

Former deputy general secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has poked Mahama for not receiving any US Presidential visit during his tenure in office as President.

He claims that while four of the presidents during their time had visits from the vice president or the president of the United States who was in office at the time, the same could not be said of John Mahama.

He went on to list the four as former presidents Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor and John Evans Atta Mills as well as current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“Clinton came to Ghana during JJ’s time, Bush came during Kufuor’s time, Obama came during Atta-Mills’ time, Kamala Harris is coming during the time of Nana Addo. Is it not striking that someone is missing in the equation of the 4th Republic Presidents of Ghana? Na who cause am?” Mr Anyidoho questioned.

His list excluded former President John Dramani Mahama whom he has been critical of in terms of his governance and bid to return to office.

US Vice President, Kamala Harris on Sunday, March 26, 2023, arrived in Ghana for a three-day visit as part an ongoing tour of Africa.

The first female vice president of the world’s largest economy was received at the Kotoka International Airport by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

She is expected to hold talks with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on US-Ghana relations later today.

Koku Anyidoho lauds Sophia Akuffo over DDEP protest

Former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has commended former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo for joining the protest to resist government’s proposed Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).

He stated that the former government appointee has demonstrated what it takes to be a responsible citizen of the country rather than a mere spectator.

Koku Anyidoho continued by saying that anyone willing to make such a bold decision in his political party the NDC, where he previously held the position of deputy general secretary, would have been criticized and labelled as a traitor for speaking out against the party.

Because the party despises boldness and labels those who speak their minds as traitors and bitter individuals.

“I can imagine how my people will be jumping on this, and praising Sophia Akufo for being bold. Yet, within our own party, we abhor boldness and refer to people who speak their minds as, “traitors” & “bitter people”. Hypocrites & parasites. Tweaa!!!” he said in a social media post.

The former Chief Justice of Ghana, who was appointed by the sitting president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stated in an interview with Ghanaweb on February 10, 2023, that, she finds it unlawful and wicked for the government to sacrifice the profits of retirees for its domestic debt exchange.

“I find this wicked, disrespectful, I find it unlawful. I find it totally wrong, period, because you don’t solve your problems by sacrificing your aged. That’s the last thing you should do especially when you don’t have any services that are actually geared at the comfort and relief of the aged,” she added.

Responding to the comment by the former Chief Justice, Samuel Koku Anyidoho praised Justice Sophia Akufo and urged the public to follow in the footprints of the former government appointee.

“Very Senior ‘CITIZENS’ (not spectators), are talking. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church”. Revelations 2:29. Amen,” he added.

What nonsense! – Koku Anyidoho reprimands Chiana SHS students who insulted Akufo-Addo

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has shared his views on the story of the eight students of Chiana Senior High School who insulted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a viral video.

Koku Anyidoho in a social media post lambasted the girls, stating that they were lucky to find themselves in a jurisdiction where laws on such issues are not in the extreme.

Koku Anyidoho also noted that the girls should thank their stars for having a president who is kind enough to intervene in the decision by the Ghana Education Service to dismiss them.

He expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo over his decision to ask the GES to reverse its earlier decision on the girls.

“Honestly, these girls are damn lucky. In other jurisdictions, they would have been flogged publicly. What nonsense!! You joke with insulting the President & making it public? Ah! Ah! Ah! I guess we must thank President Akufo-Addo for having a kind heart to forgive them. Thanks Prez,” Anyidoho tweeted.

President Akufo-Addo intervened in the matter after his ‘attention was drawn’ to the move by the Ghana Education Service to sack the students.

The move by the president has been welcomed by the Education Ministry which has instructed the GES to review its decision.

The GES has consequently announced that it will work with the authorities of the school to find an alternative punishment for the implicated students.

Honestly, these girls are damn lucky. In other jurisdictions, they wld have been flogged publicly. What nonsense!! U joke with insulting the President & making it public? Ah! Ah! Ah! • Meek Mill saga an embarrassment to Akufo-Addo, Ghana – Anyidoho booms

Meek Mill saga an embarrassment to Akufo-Addo, Ghana – Anyidoho booms

Former presidential spokesman, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has commented on the ragig debate on the controversial filming of footage from the Jubilee House by American rapper Meek Mill late last year.

Anyidoho described the episode as an embarrassment for the president and the nation at large and blamed the faux pas on officials at the presidency who should have enforced necessary protocols for visitors at the Jubilee House.

Meek Mill visited the presidency, after his performance at the Afro Nation concert in Accra, meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the insistence of his daughter, Gyankroma.

Barely a week after his return to the States, the rapper released a promo to an upcoming video which contained footage from areas filmed outside and within the Jubilee House.

The video attracted massive backlash on the presidency and government at large, with critics on traditional and social media questioning the moral and security implications of same.

“Someone slept on their job and has created an embarrassment for the president and the country as a whole.

“For example, from what I saw, the guy was standing behind the presidential lectern.. and the Coat of Arms, which is usually for the exclusive use of the president, is in front of it. Who gave him that opportunity?” Anyidoho asked.

GhanaWeb checks show that the lectern Mill stood behind was that of “THE PRESIDENCY – REPUBLIC OF GHANA” which is used by all guests to the presidency. The president exclusively used one with the label “PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA.”

Anyidoho further explained that from his understanding of the viral clip, the rapper must have completed his formal engagement with the president before engaging in the other acts that should not have happened.

“The president must have already met him in his visitors or conference room and this boy descends and someone overlooks and allows him to do what he did,” Anyidoho stated on Accra-based Okay FM (January 10, 2023).

The rapper issued an apology to Ghanaians and the presidency after footage of the Jubilee House was contained in a video he was set to release.

He deleted the promo he had posted on Instagram and absolved the presidency of knowing that he was taking videos during his visit to the place.

Government is under fire to explain how the highest security installation in the country suffered such a breach.

  • Asiedu Nketiah not fit to be NDC chairman, says Koku Anyidoho

The chief executive of the Atta-Mills Institute, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has said the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is not fit to be the national chairman and leader of the party.

Anyidoho’s comment follows a tweet he posted on Monday which read, “I saw Asiedu Nketiah jubilate when NDC led by John Mahama lost in 2016. I can’t forget the trauma I suffered seeing my general secretary rejoice because John Mahama had led the NDC to defeat.”

Anyidoho indicated that the NDC general secretary has no moral right to aspire for the top post of the party.

“I use to be his deputy for four years and I don’t think he is fit to become chairman and leader of the NDC,” Anyidoho, the former deputy general secretary of the NDC, exclusively told Asaase News.

“This is not about John Mahama per-say, John Mahama is an individual and the NDC is bigger than John Mahama.

“All I am saying is that Asiedu Nketiah does not have what it takes to be chairman and leader because Article 25 of the NDC constitution, as we are in opposition today, whoever is chairman, is also leader until we have a flagbearer,” he added.

Anyidoho has in the past accused Nketiah of orchestrating the defeat of the party in 2016.

In a series of tweets on 3 October 2022, Anyidoho revealed that the 65-year-old seasoned politician, popularly referred to as General Mosquito made sure the NDC lost the Tain constituency.

He stated in his tweets that Nketiah undermined every NDC Chairman he has worked with including the late Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Kofi Portuphy, and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

Anyidoho also threatened to expose Asiedu Nketia adding that “the day Asiedu Nketia becomes Chairman of the NDC, would be the burial date of the party”.

He further asked Asiedu Nketia; “Where is the land President Atta-Mills bought for the construction of the NDC school?”

  • Seth Terkper outlines what he will do to get Ghana’s economy on track

Former Finance Minister Seth Terkper has finally responded to calls by Samuel Koku Anyidoho’s calls on him to tell Ghanaians what he intends to do differently if he was the one managing the economy of Ghana.

Anyidoho in a tweet said, “I just want simple answers to my questions about the economy: My senior brother, Seth Tekper, given the opportunity, what would you do differently? Pls pls pls convince me I beg u”.

Responding to Anyidoho, Seth Terkper listed three things he will do differently to put Ghana’s economy back on its feet.

He said “Hi Koku, doing well? Ready to engage, been discussing a few (also what we did). 3 egs: i) if you borrow, learn to repay (Sinking Fund & debt/ratings wahala); ii) crisis are inevitable, prepare, w/ fields (Stabex/Contingency Fund, my crisis is bigger than yours is fallacy)”.

“3rd, if tax revenue is stagnant, reduce expenditure, however lofyvor well-meaning (recall E-schools in 2016?). Can’t borrow perpetually to finance them. Be targeted when you receive $6b (unprecedented, not even HIPC flows) for a crisis like COVID, topping 3 oil fields.”

“1st, negotiations were long in coming and not even the WB could have predicted the BRIC/EM meltdown in 2015. 2nd, Saudi etc withdrew funds from the markets for domestic needs at the time. 3rd, Ghn’s 2015 budget was based on a healthy $99 pbl, which crashed to sub-$35 pbl”

“4th, recall we suspended pricing for 2 wks, then realized some major non-resident holders of Ghn’s domestic Bonds, due in 2-to-3 mths, were bidding high or not bidding at all (potential arbitrage?). Clearly, we face a high local rate hike to rollover, @ about 30% plus?”

“5th, got 2 oilfieds in 2017 but failed to (i) put more money in Sinking Fund for credible buyback or swap/exchange (as w/ 1st Bond); (ii) messed PRG with PDS saga (blame MCC too for exit?). 6th we messed up using ESLA to pay IPPs; and yet 7th kept borrowing with no repmt plan.”

  • Anyidoho launches ‘attack’ on Asiedu Nketiah over NDC chairmanship bid

Founder and CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has stated that the current General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketiah, is unfit to be the chairman of the opposition party.

In a series of Twitter posts, Anyidoho opined that it will be a mistake on the part of NDC to allow Asiedu Nketiah to become chairman, stressing that it will mark the ‘burial date’ of the party.

He labelled the NDC chief scribe as a danger to democracy who has only succeeded in undermining past national chairmen of the umbrella party.

“The day the NDC makes a sacrilegious mistake and allows Asiedu-Nketiah, to become Chmn and Leader of the NDC, that will be the END of the NDC. Asiedu-Nketiah is NOT fit to be Chmn of the NDC.

“Asiedu-Nketiah, has undermined every NDC Chmn he has worked with: Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Kofi Portuphy; Mosquito cannot perfidiously manipulate Ofosu Ampofo, so mosquito wants to become Chmn. Torfiakwa,” Anyidoho tweeted.

The founder of the Atta Mills institute continued: “I will soon hold a press conference and tell the nation why it would be dangerous for the democracy of Ghana to all a perfidious character like Asiedu-Nketiah, to become Chmn & Leader of NDC.

“Do you know how Asiedu-Nketiah orchestrated the defeat of the NDC in 2016? And he made sure we lost the TAIN seat? The day Asiedu-Nketiah becomes Chairman of the NDC, that would be the burial date of the NDC.”

The Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo per reports, is likely to come up against General Secretary Asiedu Nketiah in the race for Chairmanship in the party’s internal election slated for December 17.

The NDC is also hoping to recapture power from the governing New Patriotic Party, which is also bent on breaking the eight-year rotational power cycle between itself and the opposition party.

  • I pleaded with Mahama for 4 and half years to erect tombstone on Mills’ grave – Koku Anyidoho

Koku Anyidoho, the founder of the Atta-Mills Institute has reacted to criticisms that he has arrogated the name of former President John Evans Atta-Mills to himself without recourse to his Mills’ family.

He has also been accused of engaging with the government to refurbish the Asomdwee Park, the final resting place of the late President without recourse to the family of Professor Mills.

In a radio interview Monday morning, Anyidoho dismissed the criticisms and said for four and half years while former President John Dramani Mahama was in office [July 24, 2012 to January 6, 2017], he pleaded with President Mahama to erect a tombstone on Mills’ grave but he was ignored.

He said when he initiated moves to plead with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he succeeded President Mahama to erect the tombstone and rehabilitate the Asomdwee Park, NDC folks told him to wait till Mahama was in power again so he could be it.

Mr Anyidoho commended President Akufo-Addo for agreeing to his request for the state to rehabilitate the park to a status befitting the stature of the late President Mills.

He gave an assurance that he would ensure the regular maintenance of the park.
