    Andre Ayew gives to support former Black Satellites coach

    Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew has given former Black Satellites coach Sellas Tetteh some money to support his sickly conditions.

    Sellas Tetteh, who led Ghana to victory in the 2009 U-20 FIFA World Cup, said that the nation has not yet given him the $4000 bonus that was promised after his World Cup success.

    As a result of his revelation, various people and organisations decided to support him financially while he recovered from his illness.

    Andre Dede Ayew who was the captain of Sellas Tetteh’s U-20 World Cup-winning team has also made some financial donation to his former coach.

    “The donation was done on his behalf by his mum Mrs. Maha Ayew and spokesperson Fiifi Tackie,” sports journalist Saddick Adams reported with a picture of the aforementioned individuals in a tweet sighted by GhanaWeb Sports.

    Ghanaian tactician, Sellas Tetteh has disclosed that the country owes him from 2009 when he led the Ghana U20 team to glory at the Youth World Cup.

    According to him, he was supposed to be paid some $4000 when Ghana won the U20 FIFA World Cup but he has not received the money after 13 years.

    “I have been discussing with Kurt Okraku because since we, the technical team when we won the World Cup they didn’t pay us any money. They didn’t pay us any money. There was a document for it. I went and discuss that with Kurt Okraku. At least they were supposed to give us $4000,” Sellas Tetteh disclosed in an interview with Sports Obama TV.

    The veteran Ghanaian coach added, “As for the players their money and all those things, they were not paid anything. They kept it in an account for them. I have spoken to the people in charge and Kurt Okraku but he has been busy because of the World Cup. I will try and meet him and talk to him.”

    Sellas Tetteh became a national hero in 2009 when he led the Ghana U20 team to World Cup glory.

    He recently took ill but has thankfully recovered very well.

    He is hoping that after 13 years, he could be appreciated by the country for bringing glory and honour to his country.

  • Sellas Tetteh targets AFCON qualification with Sierra Leone

    Newly-appointed Sierra Leone National Football team coach, Sellas Tetteh has targeted Africa Cup of Nations qualification with the West Africa Nation.

    Tetteh returned to the Leone Stars for a second stint and was unveiled on Tuesday together with his new backroom staff.

    The 62-year revealed at his unveiling that his primary target will be to qualify the country to International tournaments.

    “I am happy to be back with the National team, I believe, I am with the right technical team as we are all colleagues in the football industry,” the former Ghana U-20 coach the media after his unveiling ceremony.

    “We all have a new target, working to achieve together. Our work start today. Our vision is to get the team to qualify for major competitions.”

    Sellas Tetteh is revered on the continent as he holds the record as the only African coach to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
