Joycelyn Dumas scammed over DStv subscription

Actress Joselyn Dumas has opened up about how she was allegedly defrauded in a mobile money scam that drained her account.

In a video she shared on her social media platforms on March 17, 2026, she detailed how the incident occurred, revealing that a significant sum was taken from her MTN Ghana mobile money wallet.

She explained that the ordeal started when she reached out to someone she believed to be a representative of DStv Ghana to upgrade her subscription.

According to her, the person sounded courteous and convincing during their interaction and later forwarded a link, instructing her to input her decoder details along with her PIN.

Joselyn said she initially had doubts, but the individual reassured her, insisting there were technical challenges on their end and that they needed to complete part of the process themselves.

She noted that the person later sent another link and rushed her to input her mobile money code within a very limited time, guiding her through further steps.

Moments later, she realised her account had been completely emptied.

She further revealed that the scammer used her PIN and phone number to access her mobile money app, where they registered her for a service called XtraCash, which offers short-term loans, took a loan in her name, and withdrew the money.

She added that after she regained access to her account and deposited funds, deductions were made by MTN Ghana to repay the loan that had been taken without her knowledge.

“As soon as I said to him that was my number, I felt a vibration on my phone. All my money was emptied. In the process of talking to me as well, because he had my PIN and my number, he was able to get into my MoMo app, and he signed me up for something called XtraPay. I deposited money to send to somebody, and that money was also used to pay the loan,” she narrated.

She used the incident to caution the public, advising people to stay vigilant, avoid sharing their mobile money PINs, and be wary of suspicious links or requests.

Joselyn also called on DStv Ghana to take action, emphasising the importance of stronger security measures to protect customers from similar fraud.

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has warned the public to be on the lookout for fraudsters and romance scammers.

EOCO explained that these scammers often appear perfect and move quickly with their emotions, making them seem genuine. They also tend to always have excuses for why they can’t meet in person.

We are not conducting any enlistment or recruitment, be warned – GAF

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has warned the public against false job postings.

GAF claims to have observed a phony online connection promoting hiring for the years 2023 and 2024.

GAF wishes to caution the general public to desist from patronizing this fraudulent link (https://recruitmentfile.net/gaf.recruitment/), which is being circulated on social media platforms, especially WhatsApp and Facebook.

A statement issued said “GAF wishes also to state that it is not conducting any enlistment or recruitment at this material time, and has not advertised such for the year 2023/2024. The public and persons interested in joining GAF should stick to the certified and official channels that GAF uses in announcing recruitments and enlistment exercises; that is the national dailies. (Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times)

“GAF once again reiterates that, it does not advertise on social media and does not engage
middlemen in such exercise. Therefore, the public should take heed of the education and numerous reminders to desist from paying monies through ‘mobile money’ to unscrupulous persons who claim to be recruitment agents of GAF.”

Secret document leaks exposing Putin’s strategies for his local and international cyberwar

Vladimir Putin‘s global cyberwar strategy against the West has been made public as a result of the leak of a vast number of top-secret documents.

The “Vulkan Files,” which were released on March 30th, describe how a mysterious Russian cybersecurity firm by the name of RTV Vulkan has been covertly engaging in cyberwarfare on the Kremlin’s behalf.

On February 24, 2022, a whistleblower who opposed the conflict in Ukraine allegedly disclosed the records to German media. Since then, they have been examined by a group of more than 50 journalists from eight different nations.

Included in the leak is evidence of tools used to influence social media discussion, manipulate public opinion, interfere in elections, and attack national infrastructure.

Also revealed is the agency’s links to the notorious hacking organisation Sandworm, who disabled Ukraine’s power grid in 2015 and played a key role in Russia’s brazen attempts to derail the US presidential election the following year.

Two of the group’s operatives were indicted for distributing emails stolen from Hillary Clinton’s Democrats in 2016, and in 2017 Sandworm attempted use the same tactics to influence the outcome of the French presidential vote, the US claims.

Sandworm has also been credited with distributing the most destructive malware ever recorded, known as NotPetya, and targeting the South Korean Oympics.

Codenamed Scan-V, NotPetya scours the internet for vulnerabilities, which are then stored for use in future cyber-attacks.

Another powerful disinformation tool, known as Amezit, was also found to be in use by the group.

Amezit is used to create fake profiles en masse which are then used to disseminate pro-Kremlin content on a large scale via email, SMS, and social media.

Public opinion can be influenced by pushing individual hashtags in a targeted manner, and bot databases provide the basis for these operations.

These tools were used to influence foreign affairs, and to exert even greater control over parts of the internet in Russia’s sphere of influence.

It has been reported that one of the leaked documents includes maps of US energy infrastructure. Another contains the details of a nuclear power station in Switzerland.

John Hultquist, the vice-president of intelligence analysis at the cybersecurity firm Mandiant, said: ‘These documents suggest that Russia sees attacks on civilian critical infrastructure and social media manipulation as one and the same mission, which is essentially an attack on the enemy’s will to fight.’

The firm counts a wide variety of Russian security services as its clients, including the FSB, the foreign intelligence service, SVR, and the military intelligence service GRU, the Guardian reports.

The whistleblower who leaked the explosive documents told a German newspaper that the FSB and GRU ‘hide behind’ Vulkan in the days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last year to avoid culpability.

The anonymous source said: ‘People should know the dangers of this.

‘Because of the events in Ukraine, I decided to make this information public.

‘The company is doing bad things and the Russian government is cowardly and wrong.

‘I am angry about the invasion of Ukraine and the terrible things that are happening there.

‘I hope you can use this information to show what is happening behind closed doors.’

The authenticity of the documents has been confirmed by five separate intelligence agencies.

Following the leak, the ‘Vulkan Files’ international research team identified several hundred accounts on Twitter that could be directly or indirectly linked to the documents.

To hide their Russian origins, profiles created by the group created email accounts at Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail, and paid for transactions with cryptocurrency or prepaid credit cards.

However, despite their careful manoeuvring Russia’s attempts to control the online sphere have faltered since the start of their invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier this year, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that the Kremlin has ceded centralized control over the Russian information space and that Russian President Vladimir Putin apparently cannot readily fix it.

This is due to the emergence of grassroots anti-disinformation groups who have taken an active role in identifying and countering Russian propaganda online.

In their brief exchange with a German journalist, the leaker said they were aware that giving sensitive information to foreign media was dangerous.

But they had taken life-changing precautions. They had left their previous life behind, they said, and now existed ‘as a ghost’.

  • I lied about Rev Josh raping Mzbel – Afia Schwarzenegger

I lied about Rev Josh raping Mzbel – Afia Schwarzenegger

According to Afia Schwarzenegger, Mzbel wasn’t sexually assaulted by gospel preacher and former ICGC pastor, Rev. Josh Laryea as stated a few years back.

After Rev. Josh Laryea was suspended in 2017 due to allegations of immorality and other things, Afia Schwarzenegger and her best friend at the time, Mzbel, celebrated on social media.

This was after reports went viral that the ‘emre sesa’ hitmaker had raped Mzbel, who was then a member of the same church.

A letter dated March 29, 2017, issued by The ICGC Church Council at that time read,

“The Presbytery has authorized the Disciplinary Committee to look into the allegations levelled against Rev. Laryea. Rev. Josh Laryea is being withdrawn from the pulpit and thereby the Doxa Temple with immediate effect. This is to allow the Committee carry out its work uninterrupted.”

Shortly after the statement went viral, Afia Schwarzenegger who was captured in full glee, took to social media and wrote,

“At long last your cup is full…you molested someone I know and made her not to believe in Christianity …God truly answers…you see your life??”

A devasted Josh Laryea, who spoke about the incident in an interview with Starfm at that time said, “I may have gone mad, I may have been dead…at a point, I thought of suicide.”

But revisiting this issue, Afia Schwarzenegger, who is on a secret dropping spree amidst her latest feud with Mzbel said she regrets being a part of the scheme.

Mzbel lied! Josh Laryea never raped her and I have asked God for forgiveness. Any day the man brings the case up, I will defend him. When Mzbel was attending ICGC, the members were scared of her and didn’t want to accept her. All the men in Mzbel’s life abandoned her and she later resorted to joining a church to find solace.

“She joined ICGC and Josh Laryea became her godfather. One year later, she accused him of rape. I know the man has been hoping for a redemption and the redemption is today. The name clearing is now,” she established in a Tik Tok live video.

Jehane went on: ‘Isaac was late this morning because I physically couldn’t get up to walk or take him to school.

‘I’ve taken one of my tablets. This is the second tablet I’ve taken since being home and I’ve only got six of them, so I’m not really sure what I’m meant to do when I run out of those.’

‘It’s been a really challenging week, not just physically but mentally. I’ve missed these two so much and feel like they’ve both grown up so much whilst I’ve been away.’

She added: ‘I may be home but I’m still struggling with these migraines as nothing was really done to help them after a whole week of being there and I’d rather self-medicate at home with these around me then me left in a bed on my own all day & night.

‘I may not be fixed but I’m not giving in.’
