    Three children, ages one, two, and seven, found dead in their flat after being stabbed in Bristol

    The police have reported that the brothers and sisters who were found dead in a Bristol flat on Sunday were all stabbed to death.

    Fares Bash, aged seven, Joury Bash, aged three, and nine-month-old Mohammed Bash were found in the Sea Mills area of the city.

    Following a possible homicide, a 42-year-old woman has been arrested and is currently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

    Chief Inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: “It’s really sad that these young children, who had their whole lives ahead of them, are gone. Our thoughts are with their family and anyone else affected by this tragedy. ”

    “Our specialist liaison officers will keep helping and supporting the family members of the people they work with. ”

    In the last few days, doctors have checked the bodies of the children to find out how they died. We now know that each child died from being stabbed with a knife.

    She said the road barriers in Blaise Walk were removed and a police station on wheels will open in Sea Mills this weekend.

    Ms Hayward-Melen said before that this is a rare event and it won’t affect the general public.

    She said: “We can only keep someone in custody after they are brought to a police station, not while they are in the hospital. ”

    “Our team is working quickly to find out what happened and why someone lost their life. We are asking a lot of questions to get to the bottom of this. ”

    We removed the main barriers in Blaise Walk and want to thank the local residents for being patient and supportive while we investigated the area.

    The investigation into the incident is moving forward quickly.

    The police were called to check on someone’s safety at Blaise Walk in Sea Mills around 12. 40am

    The three children could not be saved and a vigil will be held later today to remember them.

  • 35-year-old farmer allegedly stabbed to death over missing mobile phone

    Isaac Godiga, a 35-year-old farmer has met his untimely death after he was stabbed several times in the chest and stomach at Assin Akropong in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region.

    Information gathered by Kasapa News, Yaw Boagyan revealed the deceased confronted the suspect over his missing Samsung Galaxy mobile phone after he received information that the suspect and his friends had gone out looking for a buyer of the same missing mobile phone.

    A serious altercation broke out between them in the process and the suspect who was already wielding weapons including a knife inflicted deep wounds on the deceased.

    He died while being transported to the hospital for treatment. The body has since been deposited at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital Morgue pending investigations.

    The deceased is said to have earlier made an official complaint to the Assin Akropong Police Command after he received intel that the phone was with the suspect and his friends, but the police officer on duty ordered the complainant, now deceased to get the suspect arrested since the police officers on duty at the time were not enough to go out of the station.

    Consequently, the Assin Fosu Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Edith Gaanu including the Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Daniel Darko, and the District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Cephas Arthur, and a team of police officers paid a visit to commiserate with the bereaved family and assured them that the circumstances surrounding the death of their relatives will be probed transparently and professionally.

    They also called on the youth to remain calm and not to resort to violence as the police are forever ready to address their concerns.

    Meanwhile, one of the suspects has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigation.

  • Teenager gets 5 years for stabbing community police

    The Nkawie circuit court has sentenced an 18-year-old unemployed man, who attacked and stabbed a community police assistant at Toase in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South Municipality, to five years in prison.

    Ernest Dwamena pleaded guilty for stabbing the officer, who was stationed at the Nkawie Division of the Ghana Police Service, in the ribs at a public toilet without any provocation.

    He was sentenced on his own plea.

    Detective Inspector Anthony Acheampong told the court presided over by Mr Johnson Abbey that the incident occurred on June 1, 2019.

    He said the convict, together with an accomplice, who is still at large, attacked the victim with a kitchen knife until he fell unconscious.

    Inspector Acheampong said the victim was rescued by a group of students and rushed to the Nkawie government hospital but was transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for Emergency treatment.

    The prosecution said the convict was arrested on June 28, 2020 and admitted the offence in his caution statement.

  • 17-year-old boy killed over girlfriend

    A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed to death over a girl.

    The deceased Benjamin Awusah was stabbed in the chest near the right breast by a gang of seven okada riders.

    The incident occurred at Akuapem Adawso in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region.

    Brother to the deceased Yaw Awusah told the Adawso Police that he stepped out from the house with his Junior brother in the evening to buy food in Adawso township.

    However, on reaching a section of the road, a motor rider identified as Eddy accompanied by about seven motorbike riders rushed and crossed them with their motorbikes and accosted his brother over a girl.

    He said during the scuffle, the suspect Eddy pulled a knife and stabbed his brother on the chest and sped off with his accomplices on their motorbikes.

    He said his brother who was bleeding profusely was rushed to Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua but was pronounced dead on arrival.

    The body has been deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

    The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Francis Gomado told Kasapa News, Police has launched a manhunt for the main suspect and his accomplices now at large.

    This is the third time within two months such an incident has happened in the Eastern Region.

  • Teenage girl allegedly stabs lover to death over N3,000

    The police in Ogun State have arrested an 18-year-old girl, Idowu Abosede, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Aliyu Ibrahim, to death.

    The suspect was arrested following a distress call received by Sagamu Divisional Police Headquarters from Seriki Huasa in Sagamu, saying the suspect and her deceased boyfriend were at loggerheads over N3,000.

    The complainant reported that following a heated argument, the duo were dragging a knife with each other and in the process, the suspect took possession of the knife and allegedly used it to stab the boyfriend on his chest, which resulted in his death.

    A statement by the Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the DPO Sagamu, Okiki Agunbiade, immediately directed his detectives to the scene where they arrested the suspect.

    He said the knife stained with blood allegedly used to stab the deceased was equally recovered.

    “On interrogation, the suspect claimed that she came and passed the night with the deceased and when she was about going in the morning, she took the sum of N3,000 from the deceased but he was not ready to give her the whole N3,000 and that was what led to argument between them.

    She further stated that it was the deceased who brought out the knife, and while dragging it with him, the knife stabbed him on his chest,” the statement read in part.

    The corpse of the deceased has been released to his relations on their demand to bury him in accordance with Islamic right, the spokesman added.

    Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.

  • Housewife stabs husband over suspected infidelity

    A man, Jude Madu, escaped death by a whisker on Wednesday after his wife, identified simply as Mrs Madu, allegedly stabbed him while he was asleep at their house in Owerri, Imo State.

    A resident, Saviour Godwin, told PUNCH Metro that the enraged woman suspected that her husband was cheating on her.

    Godwin said the suspect waited until her husband slept before stabbing him three times.

    He said the man, who suddenly woke up, ran out and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.

    Godwin said, “Mr Jude Madu, a resident of Owerri, was stabbed by his wife who suspected he had a side chic.

    “The man luckily escaped and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where he is in critical condition and receiving treatment.

    The police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the command was aware of the incident.

    “We have seen it online and the Commissioner of Police has ordered invesigation into the case,” he added.

  • Teenager sentenced to five years for stabbing neighbour over football

    An Upper Area Court sitting in Kasuwan Nama, Jos, on Friday, sentenced an 18-year-old man, Adamu Saidu, to five years in prison for stabbing a man who was celebrating with his football team after winning a match.

    The Judge, Mr Lawal Suleiman, sentenced Saidu after he pleaded guilty to causing grievous hurt and begged the court for leniency.

    Suleiman, however, gave the convict an option to pay a fine of N100,000.

    He also ordered the convict to pay N5,000 to the complainant, Gali Khali.

    Suleiman said that the judgment would serve as a deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such grievous criminal act of causing hurt.

    Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported on October 11, at the Laranto Police Station by Khali.

    Gokwat said the convict stabbed the complainant while celebrating with his football team after winning a match.

    He said that the complainant incurred a hospital bill N9, 300.

    The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 58 and 215 and punishable under sections 59 and 215 of Plateau State code law.
