    Boy, 15, confesses to stabbing Tewkesbury hero teacher in school hallway

    A teacher at school narrowly escaped harm after a young individual confessed to attempting to stab them.

    The 15-year-old, whose name cannot be revealed because he is underage, confessed to the accusation at the beginning of a two-day trial at Bristol Magistrates’ Court.

    The person who is being accused admitted that they were guilty of having a dangerous weapon.

    Sending him to a youth detention center, judge Lynne Matthews said, “We need to learn more about you. ” The court needs to listen to ideas from the team who works with young people who commit crimes.

    Tewkesbury Academy, a school in Gloucestershire, had an incident on July 10 where a lockdown was put in place and the police were summoned.

    Two schools close to each other were told to quickly take action and lock their doors, while police officers arrived.

    At the same time, a group of scared parents were instructed to wait for more information at a garden center close by.

    Teacher Jamie Sansom was stabbed one time in the hallway of the school.

    He left the hospital on the same day and mentioned that he was recovering well.

    There were reports saying that he had gotten involved in a fight between students when the incident occurred, but he later said that this was not true.

    Mr Sansom has been a math teacher at Tewkesbury Academy since 2017.

    After what happened, many people in the local community sent him many messages to show that they were there for him and cared about him.

    A 15-year-old kid has been charged following the stabbing of a maths teacher in a school hallway.

    The unnamed 15-year-old is accused of section 18 attempted wounding with intent and possession of a bladed item.

    Jamie Sansom, a teacher, was stabbed on Monday at Tewkesbury Academy.

    The school was shut down for a number of hours before the suspect was captured about two hours after the incident.

    and he’s now recovering well – and hoping to return to the classroom before the end of the summer term.

    Mr Sansom also said speculation he was intervening in a fight between students was ‘simply not true’.

    Gloucestershire Police said the boy will remain in custody tonight and will appear at Cheltenham magistrates court on Wednesday.

    The school reopened on Tuesday following ‘careful assessment and consultation with the police’.

    A Tewkesbury Academy spokesman said: ‘We feel it is important for our students to be able to return to a sense of normality in their school, where we will be providing a range of additional mental and emotional support for students and staff.’
