The Artios Awards, hosted annually by the Casting Society of America (CSA), honor exceptional achievements in casting across various fields, including film, television, theater, and commercials.

Kuadzi’s triumph represents a significant moment for the African creative community, marking a milestone in the increasing global recognition of African talent and establishing a new benchmark for the continent’s entertainment industries.

His award-winning casting for the NFL Super Bowl commercial “Born to Play” has not only brought international acclaim to Ghana but also provided African creatives with an opportunity to present their narratives to a worldwide audience.

The Best Casting win for the NFL commercial came after it stood out among other distinguished works, including the Boulder Crest Foundation PSA, Chevy’s “A Holiday to Remember,” and “Mr. P. 30.”

In a statement following his victory, Kuadzi expressed his heartfelt thanks to his team, the NFL, the producers, the actors, the CSA, and the broader African creative community for their support.

“This award is not just for me, but for every African storyteller and creativity. It is proof that our stories, our talent, and our hard work are being recognized and celebrated globally,” he said.

This achievement is of immense importance, not just for Ghana, but for the entire African continent, marking a pivotal change in the global entertainment industry, where African talent is increasingly being acknowledged and celebrated.

Kuadzi’s victory is expected to inspire a new generation of African filmmakers, actors, and creatives to pursue international opportunities. The recognition also underscores the urgent need for more investment in Africa’s creative industries to nurture and develop the next wave of talent.

Nana Dwomoh-Doyen Benjamin, Executive Director of the African Chamber of Content Producers, highlighted the significance of African governments working with individuals who can showcase their nations’ strengths through professional achievements. He urged the Ghanaian government, along with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to recognize and support Mawuko Kuadzi’s success as a key element in the growth of the country’s creative sector.

Kuadzi, who is the only Ghanaian and the sole representative from West, East, Central, and Northern Africa, has also secured a seat as a board member of the International Casting Directors Association and is a member of the Casting Society of America. Dwomoh-Doyen further stressed that such distinguished individuals should be consulted by the government on matters concerning the creative industry and beyond.

He also emphasized that African governments should make it a priority to involve their most accomplished citizens in national development, utilizing their expertise to drive progress in various sectors.

160 passengers escape death after United Airlines aircraft rattle off runway in Houston

Passengers on a United Airlines plane in Houston had to get off the plane after it went off the runway and got stuck in the grass on Friday morning.

United Airlines said that the 160 passengers and six crew members did not get hurt. The video after the plane landed shows it leaning to one side with one wing almost touching the ground.

Flight 2477 from Memphis, Tennessee arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport at 8 a.m the Boeing 737 Max 8 plane went off the runway and was moving towards a terminal gate, the Houston Airport System said.

United’s crew brought stairs to the plane and helped all passengers get off safely.

The airline did not say right away what made the plane go off the runway. The NTSB and FAA are looking into it.

“All passengers have been taken by bus to the terminal and are getting help from our team to catch their next flight and with anything else they need. ” We are taking bags off the plane and will try to give them back to the customers as soon as we can,” United said. “We will team up with NTSB, FAA and Boeing to figure out what happened. ”

Bush Intercontinental Airport said that flights were still going in and out without any problems.

Another plane from United had a tire that came off while it was taking off from San Francisco on Thursday. It managed to land safely in Los Angeles, and no one got hurt.

United Airlines aircraft makes emergency landing after losing tyre on takeoff

A United Airlines plane flying to Japan landed safely in Los Angeles on Thursday after a tire fell off during takeoff from San Francisco.

The video shows the plane’s left-side wheel falling off right after it took off. The tire fell into a parking lot at an airport. It hit a car, broke its back window, and then went through a fence into another parking lot.

No one got hurt at the airport, said Doug Yakel, a spokesman.

Fire trucks were ready at Los Angeles International Airport, but they didn’t need to be used because the Boeing 777 landed safely and stopped about two-thirds of the way down the runway. The airport spokesman, Dae Levine, said that the plane landed without any problems.

    It was then pulled away.

United said the plane had 235 passengers and 14 crew members. The airline said that the plane, which was made in 2002, was made to land safely even if some of its tires were missing or damaged. United Airlines said that the passengers will be put on a different plane for the rest of their journey.

Boeing 777 airplanes have six tires on each of the two big landing gears. A video of Flight 35 leaving shows the airplane’s left-side tire falling off shortly after it took off.

Airplane experts said that it’s not common for planes to lose their tires and it doesn’t mean there is a big safety problem.

Alan Price, a pilot for Delta Air Lines, said in aviation we don’t want to have one thing that can cause problems if we can avoid it. This is an example of that.

“He said the tires left can carry the weight easily. ”

Price said that a loose tire is usually an issue with maintenance, not something that the manufacturer caused.

John Cox, a retired pilot and teacher of aviation safety at the University of Southern California, also agreed. “He said that Boeing won’t be affected because it was a United maintenance team that changed the tire. ”

The Federal Aviation Administration will check, said spokesman Tony Molinaro.
