My six-year-old relationship ended because my boyfriend said I was too educated – Woman

A young woman has opened up about the demise of her six-year relationship, attributing it to her dedication to pursuing higher education.

Reflecting on the beginnings of their romance during Junior High School (JHS), she fondly recounted dreams of marriage that they nurtured as teenage sweethearts, envisioning a future together post-studies.

However, as their paths diverged, with her commitment to academic growth leading her to university after completing a certificate course and securing employment, tensions arose within their relationship.

The turning point arrived when she expressed her intention to pursue a master’s degree, to which her partner responded with disapproval, citing a dislike for highly educated women.
“So, I was in a relationship for six years, that was my first love and we both had our dream of getting married because we were young then.

“I had completed JHS by then, so we decided to wait until marriage. But along the line, due to peer pressure and all that, we had sex, and we thought that the relationship would lead to marriage.

“So, after SHS, I had to do a normal certificate course before going to the university. After the course, I started to work, so he thought that all was done with my education, while he also went into trade.

“I went to the university, and during level 200, he asked, what is the plan now? So, I was saying that I would work for a while and pursue my masters and all that,” she said in the video shared on X (formerly Twitter.)

This disagreement escalated when he abruptly announced plans to marry someone else, leaving her heartbroken and questioning the compatibility of their aspirations.

“He just said, as for me, I don’t like a lady who is so educated. I just thought that it was a normal mere saying, but not knowing that it was not.

“One Sunday, I was just there, and he sent me a message: I want to get married. So, I said, then let me finish my school, then we get married. He said, no, I am getting married next week, so yes, that is how I got my heart broken.

“I just cried it off and pretended everything was okay. And then I continued with my studies,” she added.
Through tears and resilience, she continued her educational journey, sharing her story as a testament to the complexities of balancing personal ambitions with romantic relationships.

Woman admits to working with neo-Nazis to plan attack on Baltimore’s electrical infrastructure

A woman from Maryland has admitted to working with a neo-Nazi leader from Florida to make a plan to attack the power grid in Baltimore.

Sarah Beth Clendaniel, who is 36 years old and from Catonsville, and her friend Brandon Russell thought that shooting at five electric stations in Baltimore would cause chaos in society. This information was included in a court document when Clendaniel admitted she was guilty.

Judge James Bredar will decide how long Clendaniel will be in trouble on September 3rd.

Clendaniel was accused last year with Russell, who lives in Orlando, Florida and helped start a neo-Nazi group called Atomwaffen Division. Russell admitted to explosives charges and went to prison for five years because he was involved in a deadly shooting at the apartment he shared with Atomwaffen’s other founder.

Clendaniel and Russell started writing letters to each other in 2018 while they were in different prisons. They fell in love and stayed together even after they were out of jail, according to the court documents.

Clendaniel admitted to doing two things wrong: planning to damage electrical facilities and having a gun even though it’s against the law for him to have one. Conspiring can lead to 20 years in prison. Having a gun can lead to 15 years in prison.

Russell used to be in the Florida National Guard and is accused of planning to damage electrical facilities. He is waiting for his trial.

In May 2017, one of Russell’s friends, Devon Arthurs, shot and killed two other friends at their house in Tampa, Florida. The police found Russell at the place, wearing a military outfit and crying because of the news.

Arthurs admitted to killing his roommates because he said they were planning a terrorist attack. Russell didn’t get charged for the killings, but he admitted to collecting explosive materials at the apartment building.

Clendaniel and Russell believed in white supremacy and wanted to cause mass violence to make society fall apart. Both of them talked about their plans to attack the power grid with someone who works for the government in January 2023, prosecutors said.

Woman killed amid attack on Joel Osteen Texas megachurch

A lady wearing a long coat and holding a child started shooting in a busy Texas megachurch. Security shot her to stop the attack.

Police identified a woman named Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36, as the suspect. She was with her seven-year-old son, who was badly hurt in the shootout in Houston.

Investigators said the person who attacked had the word “Palestine” on their rifle and they also found writings that were against Jewish people.

But they don’t know why it happened.

A 57-year-old man got shot in the hip, but he’s out of the hospital now.

The shooter’s son was shot in the head during the gun fight, and he is now in critical condition. It is not known who shot the boy.

The church was having a live video service when the first shots were heard. Pastor Jorge Basave kept recording and told the Houston Chronicle that he wanted to stay calm.

“He said he was afraid that other people would also become scared because of his fear. ”

The police said the person used a specific type of gun for the attack. She had a small rifle, but she didn’t use it.

At the news conference on Monday, officials said that the person who attacked has had mental health problems in the past and was ordered to get help in 2016.

Official documents show that Moreno has been arrested many times and has been found guilty of hurting people, doing illegal drugs, and having weapons.

She used different names before, like Jeffery Escalante, and in official records, she is sometimes listed as a man and sometimes as a woman. Police said in a news conference that she is a Hispanic woman.

Police think she had an argument with her ex-husband’s family, who are Jewish.

The shooting happened at Lakewood Church, which is a big church led by famous TV preacher Joel Osteen.

Moreno’s relationship with the church is still being looked into, but the local TV station KHOU says her mother went to Lakewood.

The store also mentioned that people who work at the church might have been asked questions during Moreno’s difficult divorce and child custody case, according to records from Montgomery County court.

The police said the person they think did it drove up to the west side of the building in a white car at 1:53 PM and a Spanish-speaking event was about to start.

She showed her weapon to a security guard who was not carrying a weapon. He let her into the church and then she started shooting inside the hallway at 1:55 PM.

A 28-year-old Houston police officer and a 38-year-old agent with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) were not working and were hired to protect a church, they shot back at someone.

The attacker was shot and killed after firing many rounds in a gun battle, officials said. They were pronounced dead at 2:07 PM.

Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said that Moreno was seen putting some kind of liquid on the ground, but after checking, they found out it wouldn’t harm anyone.

She got shot, and then she told the police there was a bomb. But when the police looked in her bag and car, they didn’t find any bombs.

Kevin Lilly, the head of TABC, named his agency’s officer as Adrian Herrera.

He praised the two people for staying strong when there was shooting. He said, “What they did yesterday showed great bravery and courage. ”

“They were like a barrier between the worshippers and terror. ” The choice between being able to practice your religion and committing murder.

She attributes this risky behavior to coping with the grief of losing her husband and five children to the disease. While expressing guilt, she reveals that engaging in prostitution is her only means of livelihood.

The woman fears disclosing her status to her sexual partners due to potential consequences such as rejection, stigma, or loss of income. She is apprehensive that her neighbors might spread the news, jeopardizing her livelihood.

I have been drinking the sperms of my pastor for 2 years – Church member recounts

A 28-year-old Ghanaian woman has disclosed a disturbing practice she undertook in a 2-year relationship with her spiritual father, Edwin Kwabena Antwi-Boasiako.

Speaking on Oyerepa FM she stated that her spiritual father who is the founder of New Era, a church located at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region made her drink his sperm whenever they have an intercourse.

She added that the consistent practice of swallowing her pastor’s sperm, according to the pastor, it is advantageous to her health.

She claimed that the pastor said drinking her sperm could heal her waist pains and all other things that could pose risk to her immune system.

According to her, she never wanted any intimate relationship with her spiritual father because he knew he was a married man.

However, she succumbed to his lies and manipulations with the reason that he promised to divorce his wife and marry her.

The 28-year-old woman stated that she initially refused to accept the pastor’s proposal but eventually agreed because what he said wasn’t good enough for him.

According to her, associating herself with the man of God is something she regrets doing, as he has asked all her suitors.

“He told me all the guys I brought to him have no future for me and that if he wasn’t married he would have married me instead. He later told me his wife was giving him problems  and the spirit in him wants him to divorce her and marry me. I refused when he said that initially but eventually I accepted,” she revealed.

Additionally she revealed that the pastor once got her pregnant and later suggested that she holds another guy responsible, since that was going to be an embarrassment on his part.

She indicated that when she refused to pay heed to the pastor’s proposal the pastor bought her drugs to terminate the pregnancy.

As per her account she got rid of the pregnancy and made an attempt to part ways with her spiritual father but that was obstructed because he promised to marry her.

“The pastor and I have been dating for 2 years. He takes me to hotels to have sex with me and makes me drink his sperm because he said the doctor says it’s good. He got me pregnant and asked me to hold a different guy responsible. He asked me to abort when I refused. He later bought me a medicine to terminate the pregnancy. After the abortion I decided to part ways with him but he refused to let me go; promising me marriage. If not for the pastor I would have been married and left Ghana. He doesn’t like it when I make calls. He sacked all my suitors from me,”she added.

She also revealed how her fiance lured her into taking a loan for him in her  name but ended up paying the loan and its interest because he refused to pay.

“This man of God convinced me into taking a loan for him in my name. He promised to  pay the loan and the interests. After paying the 1st and the second time he became reluctant in paying the rest. Whenever I confront him on when he is going to pay the subsequent ones he becomes angry. I have taken this man as my spiritual father so whenever a guy proposes to me, I ask him to see if the guy is the right person for me.

She stated that there was always an uproar whenever she inquired about the loan; because that was the initial agreement they had.

“He told me all the guys I brought to him have no future for me and that if he wasn’t married he would have married me instead. He later told me his wife was giving him problems  and the spirit in him wants him to divorce her and marry me. I refused when he said that initially but eventually I accepted, “ she indicated .

  • Embracing beauty and the joy of aging as a woman

Embracing beauty and the joy of aging as a woman

My bathroom shelf boasts a collection of over a dozen anti-aging creams and serums, reflecting my adherence to society’s fixation on halting the aging process.

The onset of my forties intensified my discomfort with the natural aging of my body, leading to a quest for preservation that went hand in hand with societal expectations.

However, a profound shift occurred today as I realized I had been fundamentally mistaken about the entire aging dilemma.

In a dream that unfolded more like reality TV than a movie, my older self, now in her late seventies, made a striking appearance. Gray hair peeked beneath dark chocolate highlights, and wrinkles adorned her cheeks, upper lip, and neck. Age spots, sagging abs, and thigh cellulite were present — embodying my mom’s dreaded aging fears.

Contrary to my expectations, the older me exuded contentment. She sported a broad smile, her topaz eyes radiating brightness and teasing light, unaffected by Botox interventions. Despite the visible signs of aging, she was undeniably HAPPY.

This encounter left a profound impact, prompting me to reevaluate my relationship with this future version of myself — perhaps the most significant relationship of all.

Discovering how to navigate the shame associated with aging as a woman and finding beauty and joy along the way becomes crucial in this journey of self-acceptance.

He wrote: “So, the timer starts the moment I touch the dough. The current world record time to beat is three minutes and fourteen seconds. I rolled the first chapatti, and by 20 seconds, I was done.”

Understand how we build our perceptions

As a mental health professional, I know that our entire reality is created from mental conclusions formed in early childhood. When we’re born, our minds are a clean slate, and we look at the world with innocent wonder.

As we grow older, observing our environment, we form mental conclusions about life, people — and especially about ourselves. Over the years, these mental beliefs form thick layers of human conditioning — or lenses of perception — through which life appears to us

This is what I call perceptional non-reality. Knowing this, I have to re-focus my lenses in regards to aging.

    Reevaluate your core beliefs.

I’ve been asking myself, what is my core belief about aging?

What does “getting old” mean to me? So I write down, getting older means: ugly, decline, disconnected, feeble, depression, loneliness, death.

Inspired by my dream, I cross out these words and write another, a more useful description of what getting older means to me: Maturity, wisdom, self-knowledge, self-respect, awareness, richness of life experience.

The image from my dream floats into my mind, and the realization follows: The beauty of my old self’s self-esteem is radiating brightly from within, consuming wrinkles and age spots. Her physical appearance has NOTHING to do with the emotion of happiness — the most desired state craved by all.

However, I can’t be happy and in “fighting aging” mode at the same time. I have to make the choice to be happy and old. Year after year. Otherwise, I’ll be paddling against nature, totally wasting my time on unnecessary suffering and stress — and today, EVERYONE knows that stress is not good for the skin.

    Choose to age gracefully

If I choose to age gracefully, my entire lifestyle evolves into self-love and self-care.

I choose foods that are good for my body—fresh, natural cuisine to fulfill and satisfy me. I stay active and well hydrated. I exercise my body in ways that are fun and enjoyable.

I keep my mind positive and calm. I focus on the bright side of life while accepting its dual nature. I forgive easily and smile more. I recognize no one is perfect and people do the best they can, including myself. I criticize less and praise and appreciate more.

I choose to see my future as vivid and bright, like that bouquet of candles on my birthday cake.

All these are the signs of healthy maturity — an optimistic and exciting aging quest worth celebrating.

  • Woman’s body decays as fetish priest demands GHC17K for burial rituals

Woman’s body decays as fetish priest demands GHC17K for burial rituals

In the community of Ntronang on the Obuotabiri mountains in the Okere District of the Eastern Region, a woman identified as Abena Mama in her 20s has been discovered deceased, and her body left to decay in a room.

The family received a caution from fetish priest Okomfo Koranteng, instructing them not to handle the body until specific rituals are performed. Additionally, a substantial sum of GHC17,000, along with sheep and Schnapps, is required.

Abena Mama was reportedly cohabiting with a man, and allegations suggest a previous relationship with the man’s father. Elders advised against the relationship, deeming it an abomination.

Despite the warnings, the couple persisted, leading the fetish priest to conduct rituals, linking them to Abena Mama’s subsequent death.

Fetish priest Okomfo Koranteng insists on specific rituals and a financial obligation before allowing the burial, stating that non-compliance would violate cultural norms and result in severe consequences for the family.

Consequently, Abena Mama’s body remains untouched in a room, decomposing five days after her demise.

This situation has ignited discussions within the community about the delicate balance between cultural practices and the need for a dignified burial. Some community members advocate police intervention to transport the body to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

In a separate incident, Florence Amo, a fetish priestess, has been apprehended by the Eastern Region Police for allegedly defrauding bereaved families.

Her deceitful tactics involve falsely claiming responsibility for the deaths, exploiting grieving families by demanding substantial sums for elaborate rituals.

Her accomplice, Abraham Odotei, remains at large. Florence Amo’s arrest followed a report from a family previously victimized by her schemes. Subsequent investigations uncovered multiple victims with similar complaints.

Florence Amo is currently remanded by the Koforidua Circuit Court “B.” However, her defense counsel’s absence during court sessions has raised concerns, prompting the judge to express the intention to proceed without delay if a valid excuse is not provided.

Despite granting another adjournment, the judge directed Amo to obtain necessary disclosures, warning that case management would commence on the next adjourned date if the defense counsel remains absent.

Story of how this young woman’s aspiration to become a nurse was shuttered

The narrative of Bless, a fruit vendor who lives in the Accra neighborhood of Madina, illustrates the reality and sensation of things not going your way or as expected.

Bless, who as a little child wanted to be a nurse, grew up with the idea of having to work menial jobs to support herself.

In an interview with Eugenia Diabah on GhanaWeb TV’s Everyday People, Bless disclosed that her family’s financial situation prevented her from pursuing her passion of becoming a nurse.

“I completed JHS but was unable to continue because there was no money at home. No one could help with money or anything. I wanted to become a nurse but here I am today,” she said.

Bless went on to say that she has worked five jobs or more to support herself as an adult. She also mentioned that she used to work at a pub but had to leave due to male harassment.

“I worked at a bar for four months. I quit because the harassment from men was too much and I couldn’t bear them again,” she added.

Due to persistent sexual harassment by men, she left her employment as a bartender and is now a fruit vendor

  • Meet the Kenyan woman who quit bank job to run and thriving private school

Meet the Kenyan woman who quit bank job to run and thriving private school

Founder of St. Bakhita School, Felista Muthoki Mutinda, made a bold career change, leaving her secure job as a services executive in the banking industry to pursue her passion for education. At the age of 52, Mutinda embarked on a journey to create an educational institution that prioritized holistic child development, parent involvement, and life skills alongside academics, believing that traditional schools were falling short in these aspects.

Many around her initially questioned her decision to abandon her 14-year banking career for entrepreneurship in education. Despite her lack of experience in the field, Mutinda attended workshops and conducted extensive research to bring her vision to life.

Starting her venture required a significant financial commitment. Mutinda used her personal savings, received financial support from her parents and husband, and even tapped into her pension fund. She began with one kindergarten located in a renovated house in South B, a suburb of Nairobi. Over time, the school expanded to encompass two kindergartens, two primary schools, and a junior school, serving a total of over 2,700 students and employing 327 staff members.

St. Bakhita School quickly gained popularity, attracting 32 students in its first year as an alternative to a nearby kindergarten that had closed down. Within five years, enrollment had grown to 172 students, prompting the school’s expansion into adjacent properties. The kindergarten even had a two-year waiting list within its first five years of operation.

Mutinda attributed the rise of private schools to a policy change in 2003 that led parents to seek quality education in private institutions. The number of private schools in Kenya surged from 7,742 to 16,594 between 2014 and 2020.

Inspired by the success of the South B kindergarten, Mutinda ventured into opening a franchise in Machakos in 2011, which enrolled 53 children in its inaugural year. In 2017, when the Kenyan government introduced a new curriculum aligned with St. Bakhita’s educational approach, Mutinda expanded her enterprise by establishing two additional primary schools to meet evolving community needs.

In 2020, Fanisi Capital, a private equity firm, acquired a minority stake in St. Bakhita Schools for approximately $2.5 million, aligning with the school’s growth strategy.

Mutinda’s advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is, “There is so much potential in every one of us. We shouldn’t look at our businesses just as a form of sustenance but as a source of employment with the ability to transform society. You can take your business from one level to another by creating workable structures.”

  • Tips to allow your woman to experience the best orgasm

Tips to allow your woman to experience the best orgasm

Achieving the best orgasm for a woman involves both physical and emotional factors. Here are some tips to help:

    1. Communication: Open and honest communication is key. Ask your partner what she likes and dislikes, and encourage her to do the same. This will create a comfortable environment for exploring each other’s desires.
    2. Foreplay: Spend time on foreplay. Kissing, touching, and oral sex can help build anticipation and increase arousal.
    3. Relaxation: Ensure a relaxed atmosphere. Stress and anxiety can hinder the ability to orgasm. Create a comfortable environment, free from distractions.
    4. Clitoral Stimulation: The clitoris is often the most sensitive part of a woman’s body. Experiment with different techniques, speeds, and pressures to find what works best for her.
    5. Variety: Change things up. Different positions and sensations can provide new and exciting experiences.
    6. Sensate Focus: Pay attention to her body’s responses. Listen to her cues and adjust your actions accordingly.
    7. Kegel Exercises: Encourage your partner to practice Kegel exercises to strengthen pelvic muscles, which can lead to more intense orgasms.
    8. Emotional Connection: Establish a strong emotional connection. Feeling loved, secure, and emotionally connected can enhance sexual experiences.
    9. Breathing: Encourage deep and rhythmic breathing. This can help build sexual tension and intensify orgasms.
    10. Experimentation: Be open to trying new things. Everyone is different, and what works for one person may not work for another.
    11. Toys: Incorporating sex toys can add variety and enhance pleasure for both partners.
    12. Extended Foreplay: Extend foreplay to increase anticipation and arousal. Engage in activities like sensual massages or taking a bath together.
    13. Practice Edging: Edging involves delaying orgasm to build intensity. This can result in a more powerful climax when it finally occurs.
    14. Mutual Masturbation: Watching each other masturbate can be incredibly erotic and can provide insight into what turns each other on.
    15. Aftercare: After an orgasm, provide emotional support and tenderness. This can foster intimacy and make the experience more satisfying.

Remember that every woman is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. The key is to be attentive, open, and responsive to your partner’s needs and desires. Communication and experimentation are essential for achieving the best orgasms ever.

  • Meet the oppressed African woman who had the greatest buttocks in history

Meet the oppressed African woman who had the greatest buttocks in history

Her story has been recounted numerous times over many years, that of an African woman who endured suffering and exploitation due to a condition she had, known as steatopygia.

Sarah Baartman, originally named Saartje, possessed exceedingly prominent buttocks and hips as a result of steatopygia, a condition characterized by the accumulation of substantial fat in the buttocks.

Born into a Khoikhoi family in South Africa’s Eastern Cape in 1789, she hailed from a nomadic Khoikhoi community. Tragedy struck early in her life as her mother passed away when she was just two years old, and her father, a cattle driver, died during her adolescence.

As a teenager, Sarah entered into marriage with a fellow Khoikhoi from her tribe, only to witness his tragic murder by his slave master, a Dutch colonist. To survive, Sarah turned to domestic service in Cape Town, South Africa, but it was during this period that her tribulations began.

According to a feature in a BBC magazine, Sarah’s life took a fateful turn when she was discovered by a British surgeon named William Dunlop. This occurred after one of her employers, Hendrik Cesars, for whom she worked as a domestic worker, began exhibiting her at a city hospital in Cape Town, all in exchange for money.

Intrigued by her unique condition and physique, Dunlop made promises to take her abroad to work as an “indentured servant” and urged her to sign a contract to that effect. Despite her illiteracy, Baartman signed the contract, only realizing later that it had been intended for a different purpose.

She was subsequently dispatched to Europe, where she became a featured attraction in numerous British freak shows, particularly in London, at a venue located in Piccadilly Circus. There, she was given the stage name “Hottentot Venus,” a term that is now considered derogatory but was then used in Dutch to describe the Khoikhoi and San peoples, collectively known as the Khoisan.

The BBC magazine feature reveals that during her exhibitions, Sarah Baartman was dressed in skin-tight, flesh-colored attire, adorned with beads and feathers. She would smoke a pipe while performing on stage, singing and dancing. At times, affluent members of the audience would pay for private viewings in their homes, where guests were permitted to touch her.

It is reported that she was occasionally suspended in a cage on stage, subject to poking, prodding, and unwanted touching.

In 1807, after the British Empire had abolished the slave trade, campaigners who were appalled by Baartman’s mistreatment in London took legal action against her employers, accusing them of holding her against her will. Regrettably, when called to testify in court, she sided with her employers. This has since raised questions about whether she had been coerced into the exhibitions against her will or if she had faced threats of repercussions for testifying against her employers in court.

Following the campaigners’ unsuccessful lawsuit, Sarah went to Paris with Hendrik Cesars, where she was sold to an exhibitor named S. Réaux. During this period, she engaged in heavy drinking, smoking, and was allegedly subjected to prostitution.

She even consented to being studied and painted by certain scientists and artists, although she refused to appear completely nude before them, citing that it was beneath her dignity.

Baartman is believed to have passed away at the age of 26 due to an “inflammatory and eruptive disease,” which some sources speculate may have been a result of pneumonia, syphilis, or alcoholism. Her death occurred on December 29, 1815, yet her exhibition persisted.

According to the BBC, “The naturalist Georges Cuvier, who had danced with Baartman at one of Réaux’s gatherings, made a plaster cast of her body before conducting a dissection. He preserved her skeleton and preserved her brain and genitals, placing them in jars on display at Paris’s Museum of Man. These remains remained publicly exhibited until 1974, a fact described as ‘grotesque’ by some.”

Following Nelson Mandela’s election as South Africa’s president in 1994, he requested the repatriation of Baartman’s remains and the plaster cast created by Cuvier.

Following the French government’s approval, Baartman’s remains were returned to South Africa in March 2002. One hundred and ninety-two (192) years after leaving for Europe, her remains were interred in Hankey, Eastern Cape province, in August of the same year.

Prayer warrior narrates how a detained bird turned into a woman

An unidentified woman, who asserts that she was the first to witness a bird transforming into a woman at Gomoa Mampong in the Central Region, has shared her account of the incident and how she and other prayer warriors confronted the intruder.

During an interview with Metro TV on July 17, the woman disclosed that she belonged to a prayer group dedicated to interceding for individuals under spiritual assault. On the particular day in question, while engrossed in prayer, she received a divine prompt from an angel regarding an unusual event.

“As we were praying, I saw something black and an angel prompted me to look at it, I looked up and approached it with some of my prayer colleagues. I posed questions but got no response, apparently her mouth had been sealed.

“I tried severally but got no response so I poured water on her and she started talking. She confessed that she was sent by the big idol in Winneba and I asked her mission.

“She said she had been contracted to the tune of 50 cedis to come and claim the life of the victim who lived in the house; and I told her that today the end has come and I will not release her till daybreak and the masses come and see her,” she stressed.

She asserted that there were two birds perched on the house, but the second bird took off on its own.

According to reports, Nana Antwi, a sub-chief of the region, asked the community members not to touch the girl while he summoned the police to the scene to handle the matter.

Since then, the case of the allegedly 30-year-old bird-turned-woman has been forwarded to the Gomoa Okyereko branch of the Ghana Police Service.

A 77-year-old woman is reportedly being detained by the Tema Regional Police Command over a theft case involving her 33-year-old son.

A newspaper report by the Chronicle dated Wednesday, May 24, 2023, stated that the old woman, whose name is given as Adzo Dogbey, was picked by personnel from the Ghana Police Service on Sunday 14, 2023 and is still in custody until she provides information on her 33-year-old son, Kamasah Mawunyo who is alleged to run away with GH¢ 200,000 belonging to his expatriate employer.

According to the report, a relative to the woman explained that the last time Daavi Adzo [reference to the old woman] saw her son was on May 13 and when he returned with news of huge sums of money he had landed on.

However, when Mawunyo returned home and discovered his mother in a poor state, he handed her GH¢ 500 so she could get medical attention, according to the relatives, even though Daavi Adzo did not see the money her son claimed he had received.

“The medical bill was GH¢ 250., so when Adzo returned home, she gave Mawunyo the balance but asked her to keep it. Mawunyo left home that Saturday evening without a word to anybody,” the newspaper quoted the relative.

The report added that on May 14, 2023, some police personnel went to Daavi Adzo’s home to enquire about her son.

“Daavi told the police that the last time she saw Mawunyo was yesterday (Saturday) and told them about the money he gave her to go to the hospital. Nobody saw the money Mawunyo claimed he had brought. All he gave his mother was Ghc500 for her medical care,” the report said.

“The police told us they had come from Agbozome Police Station, so they needed Daavi to follow them to the station to write a statement, which she obliged and went with her two sons, my nephew, who lived with us in the village. After the written statement at the Abgozome Police Station, the police told my nephew to go home, and they whisked away my sister to the Tema Regional Police Command where she has been in custody since May 13, 2023,” the newspaper quoted a brother of Adzo.

One of the daughters of Madam Adzo told the newspaper that the police, via a phone call, demanded two sureties for her mother’s bail on Monday and when her uncle expressed readiness to stand as sureties, the police declined until she provide the whereabouts of her son, Mawunyo.

“She was learning how to sew and worked with a woman called Delali Fegah popularly known as Mama. This Mama told her that her brother – Nicholas was in town so she should join him on a motorbike and send some clothes to one of her clients.

“When they got to the place, however, the man went past the client’s house and she began to ask questions but she was scolded by him and told to keep quiet. He later started asking her questions about whether or not she was menstruating and whether she was pregnant till they got to a place close to the nursing training and then she was sent to the house of a pastor there called Emmanuel Awhoi whose church was around the area – Israel House Chapel.

“She saw 5 men waiting for her, all allegedly her madam’s brothers and they took her to a room where they started performing some rites,” the UTV report said.

The incessant loud screams of Grace however saved her. After narrating the incident to her madam upon her return, however, she discovered the woman – Mama was the brain behind her capture.

The case was later reported to the police who referred it to the traditional authorities for judgement.

“Her madam told her that some gold had been lost in the family and they needed her for some rituals to retrieve that gold.

“The family members said after she came back and told Mama and she didn’t say anything, they took it to the police station but were told it was a spiritual matter so they should send it to the traditional rulers for judgment,” the reporter said.

“The case was taken to the Twifo Kaireku palace where the Chief, Nana Kofi Nsiako IV who listened and asked for some items to appease the gods and undo the effect of the rituals,” the report further added.

Meanwhile, the final cleansing is expected to take place today; 9th May 2023.

How to know if your boyfriend is your problem – Socialite ‘schools’ women

Nigerian talent manager cum producer, Soso Soberekon, has shared his thoughts on how ladies can detect if their partners are contributing to their problems.

The talent manager, in an Instagram post, stated that men who leave their girlfriends to figure out problems all by themselves are red flags.

He said male partners are supposed to share their ladies’ problems with them adding then that’s what a real man does.

When a woman tells her partner about her problems and he asks what she intends to do, Soso contends that she should be aware that he is just one of the many issues she has.

He wrote: “When you tell your boyfriend ur problems and he says, “What Are you going To Do”? Just Know You’re Dating One Of Ur Problems.”

Woman nearly lynched for secretly burying dead husband

On Saturday, February 25, 2023 some residents of Mankessim nearly lynched a woman in her fifties who attempted to covertly bury her deceased spouse in a bush.

The woman had failed to locate relatives of Aggrey Coffie, her late husband who was a popular Lotto Agent whom she has had been staying for over 20 years.

Trouble started while 26-year-old Luke Berry and Bronwyn Downs were out with friends in Bramhall, Cheshire.

On March 25 of last year, the couple—who had been dating for six months—went to the Drawing Room wine bar after a few drinks.

A woman walked and sat down where they had been when they had left to use the jukebox.

Luke went over and asked her to move, which she did.

But then a second person sat there and when he went over to speak to her Downs marched over and asked ‘what’s going on?’.

Prosecutor Duncan Wilcock said: ‘The groups started to become abusive towards each other and someone picked up and threw a glass. A melee broke out and door staff came over to break it up.

‘A member of the door staff put [Downs] in a headlock and [Luke came over to try and get in between them and help her. It ended with him ushering her out of the venue.

‘When the pair got outside the venue the defendant told the complainant that she had left her bag inside.

‘He said he would sort it out but as he said this he realised that the defendant had clamped down onto his nose with her teeth and pulled.’

  • Here’s how Africa’s first woman millionaire lost $1 billion in a single day

Here’s how Africa’s first woman millionaire lost $1 billion in a single day

As sought by Angola’s Public Ministry, the Supreme Court of Angola has authorized the preventive seizure of $1 billion in assets owned by José Eduardo Dos Santos’s daughter.

Isabel Dos Santos, the first female billionaire in Africa, often referred to as ‘Princess’, is under investigation for embezzlement of state funds, influence peddling, and money laundering, of which she has denied the accusations as a politically-induced witch-hunt.

Since 2018, Isabel has been in a legal battle with the Angolan government for corruption. On January 19, 2020, the New York-based International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) published a detailed report on how Isabel made her fortunes.

On Monday, November 28, 2022, Angop, the Angola Press Agency reported that the Attorney General’s office (PGR) in Angola issued an international arrest warrant against Isabel Dos Santos with Interpol.

A court order signed by Justice Daniel Geraldes, dated December 19, 2022, stated “all the balances of the current accounts with title or co-title, headquartered in all the banks, including term deposit accounts, other financial applications that are associated to those, including dossiers of securities in the name of the defendant Isabel Dos Santos, are seized.”

Some of the affected accounts are said to be in Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, and Cape Verde.

The Supreme Court also ordered the seizure of 70% of Isabel’s shares in Upstar Communicação, the freezing of 70% of shares in Mozambique telecom company Mstar, and the seizure of 100% of shares of Unitel T+ in Cape Verde and Unitel STP in Sao Tome and Principe. Other companies mentioned in the court order are Embalvidro, Unitel International Holdings, and Unitel International.

49-year-old Isabel was born in Baku, Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. She is the eldest child of José Eduardo Dos Santos and was among the family members appointed by their late father to head key government positions.

Isabel, was seen as the public face of the Dos Santos business network and was appointed the head of the state oil firm Sonangol in June 2016. But she was removed in November 2017 by the new Angolan President who succeeded her father.

Isabel was in Forbes‘ 2020 billionaires list as Africa’s richest woman with a wealth valued above $1.4 billion. However, she dropped from the Forbes list in January 2021 after her assets were confiscated in Angola, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

According to the Forbes’ Inside Story on how Isabel Dos Santos made $3 billion “between 2007 and 2010, at least $32 billion of oil revenue went missing from the federal ledger, according to the International Monetary Fund, which later tracked most of the money to ‘quasi-fiscal operations. It was against this backdrop that his daughter, Isabel Dos Santos, became Africa’s richest woman, worth $3.7 billion at her peak in 2014. Her empire began to unravel after her father retired from office.”

Her father and former Angolan President, José Eduardo Dos Santos, died on Friday, July 8, 2022, after 38 years of dictatorial rule in Angola (1979 – 2017). He was the longest-serving president in Angola and the second longest-serving president in Africa after Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea. He was the leader of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), the ruling party in Angola since the country’s independence in 1975.

  • Cambridge Dictionary changes the definition of ‘woman’ and ‘man’ to include transgender

The definitions of “man” and “woman” in the Cambridge Dictionary have been updated to incorporate a new definition for those who do not identify with the sex they were given at birth.

Along with the definition, the dictionary also gave two examples to explain the meanings. For ‘man’, the examples read: “Mark is a trans man (= a man who was said to be female when they were born)” and “Their doctor encouraged them to live as a man for a while before undergoing surgical transition” or ‘woman’, the examples are: “She was the first trans woman elected to a national office” and “Mary is a woman who was assigned male at birth”.

Meanwhile, the first definition at the entry for woman remains unchanged and continues to be “an adult female human being” and man “an adult male human being.”

The previous definitions assumed that sex and gender identity always adhered to one another. The new definitions, however, are inclusive of trans people.

Speaking about these updates, a Cambridge Dictionary spokesperson told international media outlet; The Telegraph, that editors of the dictionary made the addition to the entry for woman in October 2022.

On the other hand, social media users have conflicting opinions about the most recent definitional adjustments.

A Nigerian woman has bailed her ‘abusive’ husband out of jail after he was arrested and detained for brutally beating her.

A group, DPA Family Law Clinic, disclosed this in a Facebook post on Thursday, November 24.

“We got her husband arrested and detained for beating her and doing this to her. His kinsmen refused to come to bail him out. They said he should die there. Guess who went behind us to bail him out? This is how the woman’s sister narrated it to us:

“My sister paid 10k to bail the husband because his people refused to come. She said that even if they take man to court that he will still end up in prison and she can’t bear it. She had been the one paying all bills including rent because he’s not working.”
