The leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change, who was responsible for the opposing group, claimed that the election results on Wednesday were false and emphasized that this perspective was shared by international observers. It’s not unexpected that these elections have caused disagreement. During a press conference, Mr. Chamisa, who received 44% of the votes compared to Mr. Mnangagwa’s 526%,claimed that the electoral organization declared incorrect results.
He has not shown proof of his claims yet and he has one week to bring his case to court.
Mr Chamisa declared that Zimbabwe will experience a transformation, whether President Mnangagwa’s party, Zanu-PF, desires it or not. Chamisa emphasized that he would not patiently wait for another five years.
Mr Mnangagwa has ignored international criticism of the election and claims that Zimbabwe’s voting process is just.
Some observers, including those from southern Africa, said that the poll did not meet international standards and the requirements of Zimbabwe’s constitution.
Cairo, the capital of Egypt, has reopened talks over the contentious megadam that Ethiopia is constructing on the Blue Nile river.
The resumption of negotiations was confirmed by a statement from Ethiopia’s communications office.
For more than ten years, Ethiopia and the two nations that it shares a border with, Egypt and Sudan, have been embroiled in a diplomatic dispute over the $5 billion (£3.9 billion) hydropower dam.
The crucial water resources of Egypt and Sudan are feared to be in danger due to the dam.
There have been several rounds of negotiations, but efforts to sign a legally binding agreement have failed.
The leaders of Egypt and Ethiopia met in July and decided to resume their negotiations.
According to Ethiopia, the dam is a component of its plans to electrify millions of homes, primarily in rural areas.
National campaign coordinator for Kennedy Agyapong‘s candidacy for flagbearer, Kwame Owusu, has disclosed how an incident concerning their polling agent in the North East Region was resolved.
He mentioned that upon being informed by the female agent in the region about the difficulties she was encountering, he brought the matter to the notice of the Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, who skillfully facilitated a resolution.
During an interview with Oman FM shortly after Kennedy Agyapong’s passionate outburst at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Super Delegates Conference voting on Saturday (August 26), he explained that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) instructed the local police to address the situation. This resulted in the resolution of the standoff, leading to the replacement of the agent from the Ken Agyapong team at the center.
“I interceded and I called quickly and I got the police and the IGP put people on line and we have our representative there who is making sure that things are ok…
“I called in the Inspector-General of Police, he has been so helpful, he got the commander there and we have been able to resolve the issue… Ganiyu our second agent is there and we spoke to him and he said he is okay,” he stressed.
Ken Agyapong descended into a fit while speaking to Oman FM alleging that his polling agent had been chased from the Nalerigu regional polling station in the North East Region – believed to be a stronghold of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
He threatened to give the president and Bawumia a ‘showdown’ and to ensure the party lands in opposition if that is what they want by mistreating aspirants in the flagbearership race.
Agyapong, who came a distant second in the super delegates vote is currently the subject of summons to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee over his comments.
Wontumi reveals source of Agyapong’s ‘misplaced anger’
Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, alias Chairman Wontumi; disclosed the source of the information that caused Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong to go ‘into a fit.’
Wontumi, in an interview with Metro TV revealed that it was Kwame Owusu, a former boss of the Ghana Maritime Authority, who called Kennedy to inform him about the said development.
“Something happened in the Northern Region and the people who were there just called Kennedy to tell him, it was specifically my uncle, Kwame Owusu… he called Kennedy and you know at a time like this his energy will be high.
“And you are not there but called him to say this what has happened, meanwhile we have police and agents there, so, why do you have to talk?” he stressed.
He said Kwame Owusu, who was in Kumasi, was talking to Ken in intervals of five to 10 minutes in his capacity as a campaign lead for the Assin Central MP, giving updates from across the country.
The people of Japan have expressed their dissatisfaction to China as they received numerous impolite phone calls due to the Fukushima incident.
The calls originate from phone numbers associated with Chinese area codes. A restaurant chain in Fukushima said they received over 1,000 phone calls since last Thursday. Tokyo has told people to be careful and not speak Japanese loudly if they visit China.
Beijing has been the main voice of disapproval for the release of treated waste water last week.
Tokyo has been giving daily updates, stating that there is no sign of radio activity in the seawater near the nuclear plant.
The Japanese government says that after releasing water, they received phone calls from Chinese numbers. These calls were made to government offices, schools, and even an aquarium.
The people on the phone speak in Chinese, Japanese and English – and sometimes say mean and hurtful things. They talk about how they disagree with Japan’s choice to release the treated nuclear water.
China said that the discharge was a very selfish and irresponsible thing to do.
On Thursday, it announced it will stop allowing seafood from Japan to be brought into the country.
At the moment, Tokyo wants to do regular checks for radiation in the water near the plant to calm down worries from nearby countries and fishing organizations.
The test scores will be made available every week for the next three months.
In the next 30 years, over 1 million tonnes of water stored at the nuclear plant will be released.
It has been adding up since 2011 when the plant was severely harmed by a big wave.
Japan says the water is not harmful and the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog supports this decision. However, some people who disagree believe that the release of the water should be stopped.
The water is being cleaned to take out most radioactive substances and then mixed with other substances to make the amount of a radioactive form of hydrogen called tritium lower. Tritium is hard to separate from water.
The Environment Ministry found that tritium levels in samples taken from 11 places near the plant were very low, below the minimum limit that can be detected.
According to the statement, the water will not harm humans or the environment.
There are people who disagree with letting water out in South Korea. On Thursday, there were people in Seoul who tried to enter the Japanese embassy in protest.
South Korea sent nuclear experts to Fukushima on Sunday to watch how they released radioactive materials into the environment.
A follower of Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership contest for the position of flagbearer has gone berserk after Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged the candidate with the highest vote in the Central Region.
She expressed the belief that the party is moving towards being in the opposition.
In the Central Region, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia beat Kennedy Agyapong with 5 votes, emerging the leading candidate in the region. At the end of the contest, Dr Bawumia had secured 25 votes while Kennedy Agyapong has 19.
The woman, whose name was not mentioned, appeared in a video shared by Metro TV based in Accra. She was filmed at the Central Regional voting center during the Super Delegates Conference held on August 26.
“They are idiots,” she cussed delegates who voted for Dr Bawumia and ensured his win the region despite the candidature of Ken Agyapong, who is a Member of Parliament from the region.
“We will go into relegation (opposition), like Wise and Hasaacas, we are going on relegation… Break the 8? There is nothing to break.
“People are suffering in this country, we (supporters) cannot even defend the party, we are always ashamed,” she lamented.
Asked whether she did not believe in Bawumia as a flagbearer, she responded: “he was part of those that created the mess, he was in the bus that has entered a ditch, how can such a person rescue us?” she quizzed.
The foreign minister of Libya was suspended from her position after attending a meeting with Israel’s foreign minister in Rome recently.
Israel said that the meeting was an important first move in building relations.
However, Najla al-Mangoush explained that it was an unplanned and informal meeting while talking with the Italian foreign minister.
Ms Mangoush is currently being investigated.
It will give information to the prime minister in three days.
The presidential council, which speaks for Libya’s three provinces, has said that making relations with Israel normal is against the law.
The speaker’s office in parliament has accused Ms. Mangoush of a serious crime called grand treason and asked for an urgent meeting on Monday.
Even though Israel’s relations with certain Arab and Muslim countries are getting better, it still doesn’t have official diplomatic connections with Libya.
Representative of Ghana’s onion vendors, Yakubu Apendiba, has revealed that 55 onion trucks that were stuck in Benin have successfully returned to Ghana due to the involvement of the Ghanaian ambassador in Benin.
He explained that around 44 truckloads of onions spoiled as a result of the delay caused by the border closure in Niger, preventing the trucks from reaching Ghana within the expected timeframe.
On August 9, 2023, traders stuck at the Benin border appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for assistance in securing the release of 70 trucks loaded with onions from Niger to Ghana, passing through the Benin border.
In an interview with Citi FM, the spokesperson for the onion sellers indicated that since most of the onions have gone bad, they are relying on those from Nigeria which does not last longer compared to the one from Niger.
“The Ghana ambassador to Benin went there and spoke to the patrol, and they opened it for just two hours and closed it again and this is affecting our business because the onions are rotten.
“About 55 cars have come within the last three days all being forty-footer trucks and all went bad, and so we are now doing the local ones and getting it from Nigeria, but that one doesn’t last,” he said.
Yakubu Apendiba further noted that the price of onion has reduced slightly because they are procured from Nigeria.
“As we started going to Nigeria to bring the Nigeria one, the price has gone down a little bit. We were selling a bag last week for between GHC1,600 and GHC1,500, but now we are selling a bag between GHC1,300 and GHC1,200.
“Sourcing from Niger is expensive compared to the one that we buy from Nigeria because if you go to buy in Niger, you will not get any place to pass and come to Ghana. All our cars in Niger have all come back to Ghana and nobody is there, and the onions have all rotten,” he added.
Jamie Carragher has given an overhauled decision on Liverpool’s Chief Association title chances after their shocking 2-1 win at Newcastle on Sunday.
The Reds went down to 10 men after fair 28 minutes with Virgil van Dijk appeared a straight ruddy card.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side created a momentous comeback after Darwin Nunez leveled it up with nine minutes of ordinary time to play, some time recently he stowed a 93rd-minute victor to start wild scenes within the absent conclusion.
The result implies Liverpool stay unbeaten from their to begin with three Head Association matches of the season, after they drew at Chelsea on the opening day and recorded a 3-1 triumph over AFC Bournemouth.
Previous Liverpool shield Carragher was tested around Liverpool’s title chances after the win at Newcastle and feels his ancient club must bring in a unused shield and a unused midfielder some time recently the summer exchange window closes.
‘Liverpool have been Manchester City’s greatest rivals for the final four or five a long time, and Arms stockpile came to the fore final season,’ Carragher said. ‘But why can’t Liverpool be that group once more this season?
‘The squad that Liverpool have right presently isn’t great sufficient to challenge Manchester City, but they’ve need to go for it within the transfer showcase this week in terms of bringing in another protector and midfielder.
‘That needs to happen since Liverpool can still be the greatest rivals to Manchester City.
‘They’ve made a conventional begin to the season, but when you’ve got somebody like Alisson – a world-class goalkeeper, possibly the leading goalkeeper within the world – Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah, these are players who are not coming to the conclusion of their careers but are at that organize where on the off chance that Liverpool are aiming to go on to do something huge once more, it must happen within the following year or two.
‘So truly go for it within the final week of the exchange window to urge a squad that’s great sufficient to challenge Manchester City.’
The Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG) intends to beef up its efforts to sanitize the power distribution network with a new move.
External Communications Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Laila Abubakari, has announced that the company will soon initiate regular integrity assessments on both the prepaid and post-paid meters throughout its distribution network on a quarterly basis.
Ms Abubakari explained that the purpose of this initiative is to guarantee adherence to standards within the power distribution network and to address possible issues in order to enhance the efficiency of service provision.
During an interview, Laila Abubakari emphasized that the need for this undertaking arose due to numerous instances of electricity theft uncovered during the stages of their revenue collection campaign throughout the country.
“As part of efforts to sanitize the power distribution network and curtail technical losses, we are trying to revamp our inspection of meters across the country, so we are going to start inspecting both post-paid and pre-paid meters. Every three months we are going to have a technician come around to look at the integrity of your power system and once it’s okay by us, we will leave,” she explained.
She added that although customers often complain about the cost of power, it is imperative for them to also check the integrity of the earthing as some wiring systems have been compromised due to poor earthing which results in challenges.
Laila Abubakari explained that; “Sometimes the appliances some customers use at home are not energy efficient and so after a few years it starts draining heavily on the entire building or structure where the power is distributed so every now and then you have to get someone who is qualified to check on the earthing to determine how much power is being consumed.”
The ECG External Communications Manager however emphasized that the ECG will continue to improve its monitoring measures to ensure efficient service delivery to its customers.
Aba Hagan has been arrested in the US for punishing her child the way most Ghanaian mother’s do –inserting ginger in her sons anus.
40-year-old Aba was arrested on Thursday after officers were dispatched to Rachel Road apartment at about 8 p.m. on a reported domestic dispute. Where they found a naked boy believed to be Aba’s son who said she inserted ginger into his anus.
Apparently, Ms Hagan denied doing anything but insisted, “he had messed up in school and she punished him,” conferring to reports. Later she relented and confessed to having placed a piece of ginger into the boy’s anus.
Officer Daniel Roberts wrote, “I asked why she would do this and she stated this was a common punishment in her home country of Ghana, Africa.”
Another person in the apartment said he had seen similar punishment done in Africa, but knew it was an intolerable practice in America and had made Aba aware. Doctors assessed the boy and took him to Manchester Memorial Hospital. And a report of suspected child abuse or neglect was forwarded to the state Department of Children and Families, Officer Daniels reported.
Ginger is used as a form is a form of corporal punishment among some Ghanaian families by inserting into the vagina (for girls) or anus (for boys). The ginger causes a burning sensation and prolonged discomfort which is thought to deliver ‘sense’ to the sufferer.
Former National Security Minister and a leading member of the campaign team for NPP flagbearer hopeful, Alan K Kyerematen, has threatened to expose the person who masterminded his dismissal from office if provoked.
Speaking after the results of the Super Delegates Conference was declared, Mr Hopeful Adorye stated that he was fully aware of persons who orchestrated his removal from office.
He also alleged that some persons voted in favor of a particular candidate because they wanted to secure their positions in government.
“They are only protecting their jobs. Use me as an example. I was sacked barely a week after my open declaration for Alan Kyerematen. So, I know what I’m saying. And the person who engineered it, I will mention his name if I am dared. But I will do so at the appropriate time,” he said.
Mr Adorye was dismissed from office in November 2022. Confirming the incident, Hopeson Adorye said he has so far received his termination letter.
“Yes, my appointment has been terminated as a national security member. No reason was stated for my termination.”
He noted that some people are behind the termination of his appointment and strongly believed it was due to his affiliation with former Traders Minister, Alan K Kyrematen.
“This has strengthened me the most, I will work hard for Alan Kyeremanteng to win the NPP Presidential primaries.”
The New Patriotic Party held its Super Delegates Conference on Saturday, August 28, 2023, across the country.
After the elections Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged the candidate with the highest votes winning over 60%.
He amassed 629 total votes at the end of the election, representing 68.15% of the votes.
Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong came in second with 132 votes, or 14.30% while former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen placed third with 95 votes, or 10.29%.
The result is an indication that Mr Kyeremanten together with five other candidates qualified to the next round, however, his camp has been accusing some people of vote buying.
One of such persons is the Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, whom Mr Adorye has accused of offering delegates money at the just ended Super Delegates Conference.
He noted that the Chief of Staff was trying to please and work in favour of a particular candidate since she has aspirations of becoming a Vice President under the leadership of that candidate.
“I am saying that people who have been in the government for these years, they are even old ladies, they still want to continue, so, do you think she is going to vote in a certain direction,” he quizzed when asked about Alan’s performance in the polls.
“An old lady wants to be a Vice President, how much more the young ones?” he asked.
When pushed about who this old lady was, he referenced the chief of staff citing an electoral malpractice allegation.
“Chief of Staff was here giving money to people, are we afraid? What I fear I don’t talk about,” he added.
His comments have triggered a reaction from Leadership of the party, who have referred him, in addition to other candidates to the disciplinary committee.
The North East Region branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has responded to reports of an alleged attack on a polling agent of Alan Kyerematen during the Super Delegates Conference held on Saturday. According to the NPP’s Communications Director in the North East Region, the reports of the attack were exaggerated and not indicative of a planned incident.
The statement clarified that the incident involved only two individuals and was not a mob action. It provided a description of the altercation, explaining that the polling agent of Hon. Alan Kojo Kyerematen got into a conflict with the regional youth organizer when the agent attempted to prevent the youth organizer from placing his thumbprinted ballot paper into the ballot box. The agent’s concern was that the youth organizer had displayed his vote to onlookers.
The altercation escalated when the youth organizer resisted the agent’s attempt to take the ballot paper and inadvertently hit the agent with his elbow, causing the agent to fall and sustain a cut on his forehead. Bystanders intervened, with some holding the youth organizer and others assisting the agent to his feet. Recognizing the agent was bleeding, the regional minister and the regional chairman of NPP arranged for his medical treatment at the Baptist Medical Center.
The statement mentioned that the agent was quickly replaced by another individual, and the voting process resumed successfully.
The incident occurred during the Super Delegates Conference, where Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured all 28 votes in the North East Region.
This paraphrased version retains the key information from the original text while providing a succinct summary of the described situation.

ALLEGED ASSAULT ON ALAN’S AGENT IN THE NORTH EAST REGIONAL SUPER DELEGATES’ VOTING CENTER EXAGGERATED
It has come to the attention of the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North East Region of media reportage about an alleged assault on a polling agent of Hon. Alan Kojo Kyeremanten. I wish to state on authority that it is an exaggerated story.
There was an altercation between the said polling agent of Hon. Alan Kojo Kyeremanten and our regional youth organizer when the agent attempted to prevent the youth organizer from putting his thumbprinted ballot paper into the ballot box. The agent’s reason was that our regional youth organizer had shown his vote to bystanders. So he rushed to snatch the thumbprinted ballot paper from the regional youth organizer. The YOUTH organizer resisted him and hit the agent with his elbow leading to the agent falling on the ground. The hit also caused a cut on the agent’s forehead causing him to blead. People around ran to the scene and held the youth organizer and some also helped the agent to his feet. When we realized he was bleeding, the regional minister and the regional chairman of NPP whisked him away and the regional minister rushed him to the Baptist Medical Center for treatment. He was quickly replaced with another agent and the voting resumed to a successful end.
The incident was a purely two man affair and not a mob action. The regional youth organizer acted involuntarily to prevent the Alan’s agent from snatching his thumprinted ballot paper by incidentally hitting the agent with his elbow leading to his fall and bleeding.
It is therefore not proper and unfair for anybody to report that Alan’s polling agent was beaten mercilessly in the North East Region. If it was a deliberate attack, police men on duty would have effected the arrest of the culprits. In fact, the police men on duty at the voting center outnumbered the civilians in the hall. So it wouldn’t be difficult for the police to arrest any culprit if there was any deliberate breach of law and order.
President John Dramani Mahama has said Nana Akufo-Addo’s running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is being used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) only to be dumped in the end.
Addressing party supporters in Lawra as part of his campaign tour of the Upper West Region, President Mahama urged the electorate not to be deceived by the role Dr Bawumia was playing in the NPP because he will never be given the opportunity to lead the party.
“Alhaji Aliu Mahama was vice president under the NPP government. He served faithfully under President Kufuor and, so, when eight years was up and President Kufuor was leaving, the natural order of succession is that he should have been given the opportunity to lead that party, but 17 people contested him and defeated him and that is why I say NDC is a party of opportunity because if NDC wasn’t, who am I? A boy from Bole born in Damango, who am I to stand here and call myself president of the Republic of Ghana?” Mr Mahama said.
“[The NDC] is the party that opens its opportunities to all Ghanaians irrespective of what your ethnic affiliation is. Sometimes I feel sad when I see some of our northern brothers running around and also doing this. … They will use you and dump you. I want to live and see the day.
“Let anything happen today and let our brother Bawumia say he is standing for president in NPP. They will never give it to him, I can assure you. When the misfortune hit us and our father Professor Mills passed away, the constitution said the vice president should take over, I did.
“But then we were close to an election. If it was another party, they would have insisted that there should be a congress and in that congress I would have been contested and they would have given the leadership to somebody else,” the president added.
Dr Bawumia has been a critic of the president, describing him as incompetent and incapable of managing the economy.
Boakye Agyarko, a contender for the flagbearer position in Ghana’s ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the current implementation of the super delegates election process within the party. Agyarko deems the process, as it stands, to be a “bloody waste of time.” He acknowledges the original intention behind the super delegates provision to streamline and organize the candidate selection process, but he believes a more efficient statistical approach could achieve the same results.
Agyarko, who himself was involved in drafting this provision, expressed his concerns during an interview with the media in Koforidua after participating in the super delegates election. He clarifies that the purpose of this election isn’t to declare a single winner but to narrow down the field to five individuals who would then proceed to the larger delegate population for the final decision. He criticizes the current practice of conducting multiple reruns until five candidates are chosen, finding it unnecessarily time-consuming.
According to Agyarko, the ultimate authority to choose the party’s candidate should reside with the broader delegate base of over 208,000 individuals, rather than a smaller subset of super delegates. He disputes the notion that the candidate with the highest votes in the super delegates election should be automatically considered the flagbearer, highlighting that the original intent was for the selected five candidates to advance to the general population for the final choice.
Regarding the logistics of the super delegates election, Agyarko clarifies that the provision specifies “a venue” for the exercise, not multiple venues, challenging misinterpretations that have arisen.
The article also mentions an upcoming runoff between Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai-Nimoh, both of whom received nine votes in the super delegates conference. The conference aimed to shortlist five candidates out of a total of ten for the final election scheduled for November 4, 2023. In the initial conference, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia garnered the most votes, followed by Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen.
It’s important to recognize that the provided information is based on a specific event and viewpoint and may not encompass the broader context or diverse opinions related to the super delegates election concept within the NPP. Should you have specific inquiries or require further discussion, please don’t hesitate to inquire!
Aspiring New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Kennedy Agyapong, and four others have been invoked the wrath of leadership of the party following their conduct during and after Saturday’s Super Delegates Conference.
The five have been summoned to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee for misconducting themselves during the just-ended Conference.
The four are; Mr. Raphael Patrick Sarfo, Mr. Charles Dokyi Yaw-Addo, Mr. Musa Sulemana and Mr. Hopeson Yaovi Adorye.
The party in a statement explained that their referral to the disciplinary committee is in “direct response to evidence, including video and photographic materials, which suggest potential violations of the provisions outlined in Article 3(5)(A) of the Party’s Constitution and a potential misconduct under Article 4(7).”
The party further stated that in relation to Kennedy Agyapong, he will be summoned before the disciplinary committee to “provide responses and further details to the accusations and threats he made against certain personalities in a video that has since gone viral on social media and mainstream media.”
This comes after the Assin Central MP was captured on camera promising to deliver “a showdown” to President Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr. Bawumia after his polling agent was allegedly chased into a room by angry delegates. In the statement, the party stressed their commitment “to upholding democratic values, accountability, and the highest standards of conduct.”
“We are confident that this disciplinary process will be conducted with fairness, transparency, and impartiality,” it concluded.

We did it together in 2008 and came out of opposition. We must repeat it in 2024 to build the Ghana we want together.
In Bamiyan province, the Taliban government has stated that women are prohibited from visiting Band-e-Amir national park.
The acting minister of virtue and vice in Afghanistan, Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, said that women were not wearing hijab in the park.
He asked religious leaders and security agencies to not let women in until they found a solution.
Band-e-Amir is a famous place for tourists and it became Afghanistan‘s first national park in 2009.
Many families like to go to this place, but because women are not allowed to go there, many people will not be able to enjoy the park.
Unesco says that the park is a group of lakes that were made by nature, and they have special shapes and structures. The park is also very beautiful and unlike anything else.
However, Mr Hanafi stated that visiting the park to look around was not something that had to be done. This information was reported by Afghan agency Tolo News.
Religious leaders in Bamiyan said that the women who were not following the rules while visiting the park were just tourists.
People are complaining that some people are not wearing hijab properly or not wearing it at all. These people are not from Bamiyan. “They come to this place from different areas,” said Sayed Nasrullah Waezi, who leads the Bamiyan Shia Ulema Council, in an interview with Tolo news.
Mariam Solaimankhil, a former MP from Afghanistan, posted a poem on Twitter. She talked about the ban and said she is confident that things will get better and they will be able to return.
Fereshta Abbasi from Human Rights Watch mentioned that on Women’s Equality Day, women were not allowed to go to the park. She stated that this action was a complete lack of respect towards the women in Afghanistan. Richard Bennett, who is in charge of documenting human rights issues in Afghanistan for the UN, is wondering why women are not allowed to go to Band-e-Amir. He wants to know if this restriction is really necessary based on Islamic law and Afghan customs.
The Taliban have a habit of stopping women from doing certain things, like going to school, for a limited time. One example is when they stopped women from attending schools in December 2022.
The recent ban on visiting Band-E-Amir national park is part of a series of things that women have not been allowed to do since the Taliban took control again in August 2021.
Recently, the Taliban told hair and beauty salons in Afghanistan to close down. In the middle of July, they also stopped women from taking the important exams to get into university.
Anyone working for the military or supporting Russia’s military operation in Ukraine must promise to be loyal to Russia. After reaching a decision, Vladimir Putin officially announced it on the Kremlin website. The decision aimed to strengthen the values that protect Russia.
The promise includes a part where people agree to obey the instructions of their commanders and leaders.
Prigozhin died in a Russian plane accident on Wednesday, August 23.
For weeks, security experts have been calling the Wagner boss a “dead man walking” since his failed mutiny in June.
There has been a lot of guessing about what happened, but we still don’t have many details about the plane crash in Russia. We do know that the flight was going from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Petersburg is a city.
Vladimir Putin seemed to confirm that the warlord was killed in the incident and honored him in a speech on TV from the Kremlin.
The plane did not show any sign of a problem until it suddenly dropped in its final 30 seconds, as shown by flight-tracking data.
On Friday, Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, talked about the rumors that Putin was responsible for the death.
He said: ‘Many people are guessing and wondering about this plane crash and the sad deaths of the passengers, including Yevgeny Prigozhin. ‘ In the West, everyone is talking about this topic from a popular perspective.
This is a complete lie. When talking about this issue, it’s important to rely on the truth. There are very few pieces of information available. This means they have to be set up during investigations.
The Russian government is looking into what occurred. They haven’t told us yet what they think made the plane suddenly drop.
The 10 bodies found in the crash have not been officially recognized yet.
The aviation authority of the country said that the people on the plane were Prigozhin, Sergey Propustin, Evgeniy Makaryan, Aleksandr Totmin, Valeriy Chekalov, Nikolay Matuseev, and Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Dmitry Utkin, who helped start the Wagner Group and is closely associated with Prigozhin, was believed to be one of the people who died.
There were three people on the crew. Their names were commander Aleksei Levshin, co-pilot Rustam Karimov, and Kristina.
British military intelligence said on Friday that they did not have definite proof that Prigozhin was on the ship, but they strongly believe that he is most likely dead.
Putin has not said if he will go to Prigozhin’s funeral. But Peskov said that the president is very busy right now.
According to Nigel Gould-Davies, a former British ambassador to Belarus, if Putin wants to show that Prigozhin was a traitor, he will choose to ignore his funeral.
Mr Gould-Davies thinks it will be an important event no matter what happens. Prigozhin’s followers might use it to praise him and his criticism of the Kremlin’s actions in the war. This could make some Wagner loyalists even more hostile towards the Kremlin, he said.
After Prigozhin died, many graves of the Wagner Group were completely destroyed without a clear reason.
The local news says that they will cover the area where the Wagner fighters were buried with concrete.
The government of Samara Oblast has not made an official statement yet.
Due to numerous reindeer fatalities resulting from their entry into Russia, Norway is working on mending a damaged fence on its border.
According to the agriculture agency of Norway, a part of the barrier between Hamborgvatnet and Storskog will be replaced. This barrier is 93 miles long, and the part being replaced is about four miles long.
The project will cost 3. 7 million kroner or £274,000 and will be finished by October 1st.
Rebuilding the fence will be difficult and require a lot of effort because workers will need to stay on the Norwegian side of the border all the time.
If a worker accidentally goes into Russia without the right visa, they would be considered as entering the country illegally.
According to officials, Norway wants to build a new fence to prevent reindeer from going into Russia. This is because 42 reindeer have already gone across the border this year.
Due to these, 40 have been brought back but were killed because people were afraid they might go back to Russia. The other two people are expected to come back home soon.
Every time a reindeer travels, it becomes expensive because Norway has to pay Russia for the damage caused by the reindeer eating grass from their land.
Someone has said that Oslo should give almost 50,000 kroner (£3,715) for each reindeer that went into the Pasvik Zapovednik natural reserve.
Another document requesting money asks for a large sum of nearly 47 million kroner (around £3. 5 million) to cover the time that animals stayed in the large wildlife area. The Indigenous Sami people, who have been living in Arctic Europe for about 9,000 years, take care of the reindeer and keep them together. They usually live in Lapland, which is found in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia.
In the UK, a pelican that got out of a zoo was seen swimming with swans at a pond that was 30 miles away. However, it got away again before the zookeepers could catch it.
Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, alias Chairman Wontumi has exposed the person who caused the wrath of Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong during the party’s Super Delegates Conference on Saturday.
Agyapong in a viral video was seen angrily threatening to give a president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia a showdown, citing an attack on his agent in the Central Region during the August 26, 2023 super delegates conference.
Wontumi, in an interview with Metro TV revealed that it was Kwame Owusu, a former boss of the Ghana Maritime Authority, who called Kennedy to inform him about the said development.
“Something happened in the Northern Region and the people who were there just called Kennedy to tell him, it was specifically my uncle, Kwame Owusu… he called Kennedy and you know at a time like this his energy will be high.”And you are not there but called him to say this what has happened, meanwhile we have police and agents there, so, why do you have to talk?” he stressed.
He said Kwame Owusu, who was in Kumasi, was talking to Ken in intervals of five to 10 minutes in his capacity as a campaign lead for the Assin Central MP, giving updates from across the country.
Investigators from the Russian government reported that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the fiery leader of the mutinous mercenary group Wagner, perished in the crash of a jet.
Earlier today, the Investigative Committee of Russia said via Telegram that it had finished conducting forensic examinations on the 10 deceased passengers.
Svetlana Petrenko, the committee’s spokesperson, said that molecular genetic tests have been finished as part of the investigation into the jet crash in the Tver area.
All ten fatalities have had their identities confirmed based on their findings, and they all match the list provided on the flight sheet.
The plane took off from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport around 6pm, heading to St. Petersburg is a city.
But it fell down about 100 miles to the northeast, near the city of Tver.
A video that has not been confirmed shows a plane, called an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet, that looks like the one Prigozhin was on, falling from the sky with smoke coming out.
According to local news, 10 people died in the crash. This includes 3 crew members and 7 passengers.
The Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport announced that they have started an investigation into the plane crash of an Embraer aircraft that occurred in the Tver Region tonight, according to a statement reported by Tass.
According to the list of passengers, the full name of Yevgeny Prigozhin was on the list.
This is the first time it has been officially confirmed that Prigozhin has died. Initially, there were reports that caused a lot of excitement and speculation about whether he was on the plane and if he had died.
It happened just two months after the wealthy businessperson made a big challenge to Vladimir Putin’s long-time leadership. Prigozhin was seen as a close friend of the president and got paid well by the government. During the war between Russia and Ukraine, he spoke out against the military leaders in the Kremlin.
He talked tough for many months on Telegram posts and this led to a full-on coup on June 24th.
Wagner fighters took control of Rostov-on-Don, a city about 60 miles from Ukraine, and quickly headed towards the capital.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko stopped Prigozhin’s rebellion quickly by making a sudden agreement. The deal involved removing any accusations against Prigozhin and sending Wagner to Belarus.
It is not clear what happened next. Photos, videos, and rumors show that Prigozhin will be in Belarus, Russia, and somewhere in Africa in the next two months.
Some people think that the plane crash might have happened because there was a bomb on the plane. They believe that the Russian government might have planned the bomb as a way to get back at the people who rebelled against them.
The Kremlin said that the accusations were not true and were complete lies.
Prigozhin, who is 62 years old, began his career by selling hot dogs with his mother, Vilotta. Prigozhin was born in 1961 in St. Petersburg, which is also Putin’s hometown. He went to jail multiple times for stealing before he started his own company called Concord Catering.
The company has won many reliable government contracts over the years, including providing food for officials and schools.
It is still unclear how Wagner began his journey. The private armed group started causing trouble in 2014 after the Crimean peninsula was taken over, but it is believed that the group actually formed back in 2005.
Dmity Utkin, who had Nazi SS tattoos and was a close associate of Prigozhin (a person), died on the same plane. It was believed for a long time that he was the one who started the group. Prigozhin is the rich owner of the company.
Wagner fighters are usually connected to Putin’s powerful government, but they can work for any government in the world. Soldiers have been spotted fighting in wars in the Middle East, Africa, and Ukraine.
However, Prigozhin didn’t only focus on food and violence. American intelligence officials have discovered that a group in St. Petersburg called the Internet Research Agency, also known as the “troll factory,” attempted to influence the 2016 US presidential election to benefit Donald Trump.
After the accident happened, Putin talked about Prigozhin as if he had already died, but Russian authorities had not yet confirmed it.
The leader of Russia mentioned that he had met the person who used to provide food services in the 1990s.
“Putin said on TV that this person had a difficult life. ”
‘He messed up a lot in life, but he also accomplished what he needed to. ’
Former President John Mahama has condemned the chaos which emerged during the New Patriotic Party’s Super Delegates Conference.
He particularly expressed worry over the attacks that have characterized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) special delegates congress held on Saturday August 26, 2023.
The agent for Flag bearer hopeful, Alan Kyerematen, Ali Zakaria has been attacked at the North East Region during the on-going Special Delegates Congress of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on GHOne TV with Joshua Kodjo Mensah, deputy spokesperson for Alan Campaign Team, Richard Nyamah stated that the agent was beaten to pulp for protesting the public display of the ballot by some delegates.
Commenting on the development , President Mahama says reported cases of violence during the special delegates congress is “detrimental to democracy.”“It would appear that violence has become the new normal for the NPP in any electoral contest they are involved in.
“Acts of violence during what should be a peaceful civic exercise must be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians. Such brutal acts have no place in modern society, especially during an internal contest among persons who belong to the same party and have known each other for many years,” Mr. Mahama stated.
He continued: “The barbarity of Ayawaso West Wuogon in 2019 and the murder of eight innocent Ghanaians during the 2020 elections will forever be a blot on the legacy of President Akufo-Addo and VP Mahamudu Bawumia.”
However, Mr. Nyamah stated that their agent is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital adding that the Alan camp will take the necessary steps on the issue.
“I’ve personally spoken to the Police Commander and the Electoral Commission Officer and I told them our concern. Unfortunately the process is over. There are other processes and we have reported it to our bosses in Accra and we will take the necessary steps,” added.
Mikel Arteta says Gabriel Magalhaes will play enough for Arsenal this season. He also said Gabriel knows why he hasn’t played in the team at the beginning of the new Premier League season.
Last year, the 25-year-old played in 48 matches for Arsenal. However, in their first two Premier League games this season, he has been a substitute instead of a starter.
Gabriel was supposed to play again in the game against Crystal Palace on Monday night after Jurrien Timber got injured. But instead, Arteta chose to keep Ben White playing with William Saliba in the middle of defense, and Thomas Partey started as the right-back.
Gabriel has been rumored to potentially join the Saudi Pro League, but Arteta strongly insists that he plans to play Gabriel extensively for Arsenal. Arteta also believes that Gabriel comprehends the reasons behind not starting in matches this season.
Gabi will play many games, and I am confident that he wants to increase the level of competition and help the team improve their performance. He wants them to become stronger, more dominant, and win more games. “That’s why we’re all here,” Arteta said.
Arteta discussed the upcoming Fulham game and the transfer window in Saudi Arabia during the press conference before the match.
When asked if he has told Gabriel the reasons, Arteta said yes, especially because Gabriel has played a lot of minutes and games with us in the past year.
I don’t know if he gets it, but I explained it to him.
I believe he knows why, but whether or not he agrees is another matter.
However, the most effective way to accomplish it is when you play. Simply inform me of my mistakes and errors, I am willing to accept criticism.
Martin Keown took a swipe at Aaron Ramsdale after Arsenal had a terrible start against Fulham in their London derby on Saturday.
The Gunners wanted to continue their perfect start to the season, but they had a really bad beginning when Bukayo Saka made a mistake and gave Andreas Pereira a chance to shoot from far away.
The ex-Manchester United player surprised Ramsdale by scoring a goal when he was not prepared, and the ball went into the goal past the goalkeeper who was trying to scramble back to his position.
This is not the first time that Arsenal’s No. 1 goalkeeper has made a mistake in their game against Sporting Lisbon. Pedro Goncalves from Sporting Lisbon took advantage of Ramsdale’s position in last year’s Europa League match.
After another bad start in a home game at the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta’s team received criticism from Keown. Keown mentioned that this was a common problem last season when Arsenal didn’t make the most out of their chances to win the title.
David Raya, who recently joined Arsenal from Brentford, is eager to play his first match for the team.
Ramsdale is too far away from the goal, he does this frequently and I don’t know why, and Pereira shoots at the side of the goal that is closest to him.
Ramsdale is now under more pressure because Arteta approved the signing of David Raya, a former Brentford player who joined the team on a loan for a year.
Arteta said it was necessary to sign Raya, but Gary Neville is worried that having two goalkeepers of similar skill could be a problem for Arsenal this season.
“I believe you should have a definite first choice and then a definite second choice, that’s what I think,” he said to Sky Sports.
I have had different situations at Manchester United. Sometimes we have a clear best goalkeeper and a second best. Other times, we have two goalkeepers who are pretty equal in skill.
The issue is that when a goalkeeper makes a mistake, as they often do, people start wondering if another goalkeeper will be chosen for the next game.
Aspiring Kwabre East parliamentary candidate Daniel Agyenim Boateng has condemned what he described as ‘a divisive’ move by some staunch members of the party.
He stated that the public endorsement of candidates by appointees, ministers, and other government officials, as well as party executives, is embarrassing and divisive.
In an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm on the coverage of the superdelegates conference, he regretted that the public declarations were unnecessary and could cause divisions within the party, affecting its chances in 2024.
When asked to name the candidate for whom he voted, he declined, stating that it was unnecessary.According to Daniel Agyenim Boateng, the party must be formidable and remain an institution that must flourish while adhering to the NPP’s laws and regulations.
The prospective legislator stated that the most important thing for them is to elect a candidate who is credible, reliable, dedicated, understands the history of the party and its philosophy, and can win the 2024 election.
“The person should also be wise, competent, and capable of managing the country. It should not be for someone who is wealthy and wishes to buy his way out. That is not the candidate we want; we want a candidate we can advertise so that Ghanaian voters will vote for him in 2024.”
“Was it wise for people to publicly endorse a candidate?” he asked Kwabena Agyapong. We claim to be an elitist party and accuse the NDC of not having any elites. It is inappropriate for party executives to act in this manner.
“There are various wrongs going on in the party, and as a former regional organiser, it is disgraceful, and these things will come back to haunt us.”
He added that some of the candidates, including the Vice President, Akoto Afriyie, and others, approached him about working for them, but he declined.
He stated that he would not endorse an aspiring parliamentary candidate.
Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois by knocking him out in the ninth round. Usyk kept his WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world titles. However, there were some disagreements and arguments surrounding the fight.
After winning the match, the 36-year-old stated that he was prepared to fight Tyson Fury the next day. However, he had a major scare during the fifth round in Poland on Saturday night. He was knocked down because of a hit that was judged to be too low.
At the beginning of the fight, it was quite even between the two fighters. However, Dubois’ position as the underdog was very noticeable compared to the strong and dominant Usyk, who controlled the fight.
In the fifth round, things got exciting when Usyk got knocked down by a powerful punch from Dubois. Usyk looked like he was in serious trouble.
For a brief moment, Dubois may have believed he had become the new heavyweight champion of the world. However, the referee declared that the punch was below the belt, and Usyk was given five minutes to regain his strength.
The young British boxer, who is 25 years old, felt encouraged after knocking down Usyk, even though the punch was considered against the rules. He then showed some strong assertiveness against the experienced champion in the next few rounds.
However, Usyk had different plans. He regained control by using his jabs and continued to put pressure on Dubois with a series of moves. Eventually, in the eighth round, Usyk managed to knock down Dubois. Dubois barely managed to get back up before the count ended.
But he couldn’t win against the count again, falling in the ninth round. After the fight, Dubois and others were unhappy with referee Luis Pabon for calling a low blow on Usyk in the fifth round. The young Brit said he felt like he had been unfairly denied victory.
I talked to TNT Sports and said that I feel good. I appreciate my team, my family, and my children. I have strong feelings of affection for you.
I’m thankful for my country and the soldiers in the Ukrainian army. Thank you very much.
Boxing is a difficult sport, but I’m really good at it. I really enjoy boxing. I think my opponent is worthy of my admiration, but boxing is a tough sport, not graceful like ballet. It is the king of sports.
I will be available tomorrow. Okay, I’m prepared. I am prepared to fight Tyson Fury in our next match.
I don’t know if Tyson Fury will be prepared. I’m really excited to see my kids and go back home. I have been training for a long time. I am a little tired.
Donald Trump‘s campaign claims it has received $7. 1 million since his arrest photo was taken in Atlanta, Georgia.
Most of the money is made by selling items like mugs, T-shirts, and drink coolers with the angry face of the ex-president on them.
Mr Trump was let go from custody after paying a certain amount of money, because he was accused of planning to change the outcome of the state’s 2020 election.
He has been accused of three crimes while he runs for President in the 2024 US election.
These include two things related to his lies about the election being stolen and the attack on the Capitol by his supporters in Washington.
Mr Trump says he didn’t do anything wrong and believes that the cases against him are motivated by politics. He thinks this because he is currently in the lead for the Republican nomination to compete against President Joe Biden from the Democratic Party.
His supporters are now paying more attention to him, and he has received nearly $20 million in three weeks after being charged in the Georgia and Capitol riots cases.
On Friday, right after he was taken into custody in Georgia, he collected $4. 18 million This is said to be the most money he has raised within a 24-hour period since the campaign started.
In addition to selling products on its website, the campaign has been sending messages to supporters to ask for assistance.
On Thursday, Mr. Trump posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) for the first time since January 2021. He shared a mugshot with the caption “Election interference. ” Don’t give up. And the website address.
This happened after the ex-president had his picture taken at Fulton County jail. He gave himself up to the police and paid $200,000 to be let go until the trial.
A person with a gun hurt and killed three black people because of their race in Jacksonville, Florida and afterwards, took their own life. The city’s sheriff shared this information.
The man, who was described as being white and in his early 20s, went into a Dollar General store and started shooting, which caused a situation where he was trapped by the police.
Sheriff T K Waters said the gunman, who was wearing protective clothing, killed two men and a woman and also left behind written explanations.
Mayor Donna Deegan said it was a crime filled with hate, caused by racism.
The sheriff said the person who shot – whose name has not been officially announced yet – had a light and easy-to-use rifle and a handgun. People think he did it by himself and supposedly wanted to kill himself. He stayed in Clay County in Jacksonville with his parents and left multiple notes about his plans, according to Sheriff Waters. This included a message to his parents and another one to the media. The police officer said that one of the guns had a symbol called a swastika drawn on it.
The FBI is looking into the shooting as a potential hate crime and investigating whether civil rights were violated.
The attack occurred very close to Edwards Waters University, which is a historically black college.
Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan expressed to a local TV station called WJXT that even one shooting is unacceptable, but multiple mass shootings are extremely difficult to cope with.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called the person who fired the gun a “terrible person” and described the shooting as very terrible.
“According to Mr. DeSantis, who is running for the Republican party’s presidential candidate, it is completely unacceptable that the gunman was choosing his victims based on their race. ”
This person chose to end his own life instead of facing the consequences and admitting his mistakes, which is considered a cowardly decision.
The White House said that President Joe Biden was informed about the shooting.
Dollar General is very sad and upset about the violent incident that happened at our store on Kings Road. We want to help and support our employees in Jacksonville who were affected by this tragedy, and we are working closely with the police to handle the situation.
According to the Gun Violence Archive website, more than 28,000 people have been killed by guns in the US this year.
The attack in Jacksonville happened on the same day as the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington and Martin Luther King Jr. ‘s well-known “I have a dream” speech. Tens of thousands of individuals came together in the capital on Saturday to celebrate a significant achievement in the fight for equal rights.
A group of people in Haiti shot and killed at least seven individuals who were participating in a large protest organized by a church leader.
Many people from the church, some carrying large knives, walked together through a neighborhood near the main city, Port-au-Prince, trying to remove gangs from the area.
The group is said to have shot at them with powerful guns.
There has been a big increase in gang violence in Haiti, and more than 2,400 people have been killed just in 2023.
People are worried that more people could die from the shooting that happened on Saturday. Some people were hurt and others were taken away.
According to Reuters news agency, videos on social media show people getting shot on the street, dead bodies on the ground, and hostages who were unaware that the protest was turning violent against the gang.
The protest occurred in the outskirts of Canaan, a place that was built by people who had survived a very destructive earthquake in 2010.
The area called Canaan is ruled by a gang led by a man named “Jeff”, who is believed to be working with another gang called the 5 Seconds gang.
Gédéon Jean, who runs the Center for Analysis and Research in Human Rights in Haiti, said he saw the event happen on the internet and wants the Ministry of Justice to look into it.
He blamed the pastor who planned the march for not being responsible because he got a group of people involved and put them in a bad situation.
Mr Jean said that the police should have prevented them from going. “It’s really bad for the government to allow something like this to happen. “
For many years, Haiti has experienced a lot of problems. This includes a lack of stability, frequent disasters, and struggling economy. As a result, Haiti is now one of the world’s most impoverished and violent nations.
Since the killing of President Jovenel Moïse in 2021, gang violence has greatly increased in Haiti. As a result, a large portion (around 80%) of the capital city is now under the control of these gangs.
Violent conflicts over land have caused more people to become refugees, shortages of food have become very serious, and there have been many killings, kidnappings, and sexual violence.
According to the spokesperson of the UN rights office, Ravina Shamdasani, from January to August 15th, at least 2,439 people from Haiti were killed, 902 were injured, and 951 were kidnapped.
In the middle of the increasing violence, Haitians have formed a group called “bwa kale” that is engaging in violent activities against people they believe are in gangs. According to the United Nations, more than 350 people have died since the uprising started in April.

Four young individuals who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Clonmel, County Tipperary, will be commemorated in a separate ceremony at a later date.
Luke McSweeney, who was 24 years old, and his sister, Grace McSweeney, who was 18 years old, passed away in the accident. Also, two other 18-year-olds, Nicole Murphy and Zoey Coffey, lost their lives in the crash.
The three young people were heading to meet their friends to celebrate getting their Leaving Cert exam results.
The Irish TV station RTÉ knows that the car, which was going downhill, crashed and rolled over.
The gathering will take place at 6:30 pm at Denis Burke Park in Clonmel.
On Saturday, Irish prime minister Leo Varadkar and President Michael D Higgins paid their respects to the deceased. The students were going somewhere to meet their friends and have a party to celebrate their Leaving Cert exam results.
Two school leaders have also honored the students who got their test scores just before the accident.
Michael O’Loughlin, a student from Presentation Secondary School where Ms Coffey and Ms McSweeney went, stated that instead of having a joyful day, they were feeling immense sadness and a strong feeling of missing them greatly.
He said that both the school and the town are very sad and destroyed because of the deaths of the students who were loved by everyone who knew them. Anne McGrath, the head of Loreto Secondary School where Ms Murphy went, said she was excited to begin the next part of her life.
The principal said she was a “pretty student” who was liked and respected by everyone at the school.
We are very sad, hurt, and upset, and there are no words that can fully describe how we feel. The leader offered his sympathy to the families and friends of the people who died, as well as the whole community of Clonmel.
Mr Varadkar said that everyone in the country is thinking about them, their school, and their community.
President Higgins stated that the families of the victims have the support and empathy of all parents, relatives, and the entire community.
He said that the sadness felt by the community is almost too much to handle. Several events that were scheduled for Saturday in the town had to be canceled.
Loreto, Presentation Secondary, and other schools in the town helped students and their families after the crash by opening on Saturday.
Irish Education Minister Norma Foley has promised important help for students and staff in the near future.
MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has reacted to the chaos that characterised the New Patriotic Party’s Super Delegates Conference which was held on August 26, 2023.
Apart from describing the scenes as distressing, he condemned them outright.
“Didn’t know the NPP’s “BREAKING THE 8” has become “BREAKING OUR BONES.” Really distressing scenes as Frankenstein monsters devour their own.
“There must be no place for “All-Die-Be-Die” violence in Ghana’s politics. Our politics should be inspiring & transformational.”
The main incident of violence in the conference was in the North East Region where a delegate of candidate Alan Kyerematen was attacked and injured by alleged supporters of another candidate.
Mikel Arteta was very happy with Fabio Vieira’s performance in the second half against Fulham. He acknowledged that not granting the Portuguese player more opportunities to play this season was indeed his own error.
After a disappointing first year at Arsenal since his £35million transfer from Porto, Vieira might have thought that his opportunities to play in the first team would decrease even more with the arrival of Kai Havertz and the return of Emile Smith Rowe, who had recovered from his injury.
The 23-year-old player was absent in both of Arsenal’s opening matches against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. He also began the game on the bench against the Cottagers.
Vieira came onto the field instead of Kai Havertz, 10 minutes into the second half. Arsenal was still losing the match, as Andreas Pereira scored in the first minute. The home crowd was surprised, but Vieira played really well for Arsenal.
The Portuguese player, who represents the Under-21 national team, earned a penalty for Arsenal. This allowed Bukayo Saka to score and bring the score level. The same player then set up Eddie Nketiah for what seemed like the winning goal, but Joao Paulinha scored a late goal to change the outcome.
Arteta said he should have done more after Arsenal didn’t win against Fulham.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his profound sympathy to Ghanaians over the current state of the economy.
During an interaction with the press after casting his vote during the New Patriotic Party’s Super Delegates Conference, he acknowledged that times are really hard.
He, however, expressed the hope that the new NPP candidate will get Ghanaians out of the mess.Akufo-Addo told the press after casting his ballot in the NPP super delegates conference (August 26) at the party headquarters that he is the first to admit that things are hard.
“Ghanaians say they are not happy with the way conditions are, they are tired, they are suffering,” a journalist asked the president who was departing from the premises after casting his ballot.
He replied: “It is difficult. I am the first to admit it, I have said it several times, I am the first to admit it. But at the end of the day, believe that when the moment comes, Ghanaians will refer to a good person and get us out of these difficulties and take us to the next stage. That is the New Patriotic Party.”
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has officially declared the winner of the 2023 presidential race. President Emmerson Mnangagwa won the election with 2,350,711 votes, which is 52. 6% of the total votes. Nelson Chamisa, from the Citizens Coalition for Change party, got 1,906,734 votes, which is 44% of the total votes. This information was tweeted by Zimbabwe’s Information Ministry on Saturday. For anext ended period, Zimbabwe’s politics have remained under the control of the Zanu-PF party, indicating victory for the 80-year-old person. They have been the most powerful party in the country since it became independent from Britain in 1980.
Chamisa, who is 45yearsold, was very hopeful about winning but now he does not accept the results that were announced by the electoral organization. It is currently uncertain if he will take legal action.
The party he belongs to criticized the delayed delivery of voting supplies, which caused long wait times for voters. They also mentioned some suspected problems with how the voting was done.
The CCC said that some of its candidates were left off the ballots. The ballots also had pictures of the ruling party’s candidates instead of the CCC’s candidates.
The group that oversees elections did not answer those claims.
Voting continued for an additional day in some areas of Zimbabwe, where the voting process began late on Wednesday. The president made a rule that allows voting to continue until Thursday in three provinces, including the capital city Harare where Chamisa’s party has a lot of people who support it.
People thought the polls were peaceful, but they said the election process didn’t meet many regional and international standards.
A leading member of the Alan Kyerematen flagbearership campaign in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hopeson Adorye, has accused Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, of offering delegates money at the just ended Super Delegates Conference.
What I fear I don’t talk about.
“You’re done voting, go home. She (Chief of Staff) went to sit in the office of the Women’s Organizer and was calling people and giving them money after voting. This is total indiscipline…” he blasted.
Before Saturday’s Premier League match, the 1958 Group asked fans to stay at Old Trafford to show that they still don’t support the family who owns the club. – Thousands of spectators chose to stay in the stadium well past the game’s end as United sealed a thrilling 3-2 victory over Forest.
As usual, people were shouting ‘We want Glazers out’ loudly and clearly as the players went into the tunnel, and they kept on chanting throughout the protest.
The Glazers have been thinking about selling the club since November. They recently accepted a £6 billion bid from Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim.
However, fans are understandably very angry and upset about how much time the discussions for the takeover have been taking. It is important to note that there is absolutely no guarantee that the sale will actually occur.
Finally, the stadium started to empty out, but there were still many people in the Stretford End almost an hour after the game ended.
United boss Erik ten Hag said that the protesters have the right to share their opinion and that it might have an impact on his team.
But there is a strong connection between the fans and the team. During my time here, it has become more and more powerful.
In the match, the Red Devils were losing 2-0 to Forest after only four minutes. This adds to their bad performances in the previous games against Wolves and Tottenham.
But Ten Hag’s team fought back by scoring goals from Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, which made the score level. Later, a penalty taken by Bruno Fernandes helped them complete the comeback.
The beginning was scary, but the team’s attitude was great, the manager said.
We were very calm and collected. We followed our belief and plan, played well, and scored three goals successfully. It was a really impressive recovery.
We cannot let Forest achieve those goals, even though we respect them. They were easily noticed or obvious. Sometimes, games can turn out really unpredictable or strange. Like I mentioned before, we remained relaxed.
It’s definitely a marker. We have observed that this team has the ability to recover from setbacks. If you have faced a difficult beginning, you need to move past it. It’s difficult, but the team deserves praise.
We have the traits that make us who we are. Sometimes we can definitely get better, but overall this team always has the determination to recover.
Daniel Dubois said he feels like he was treated unfairly after losing to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night. Frank Warren, his promoter, has confirmed that they will appeal a ruling on a controversial low blow. However, Usyk’s team strongly believes that the correct decision was made.
A 25-year-old person from Britain surprised everyone at the Tarczynski Arena in Poland by hitting the heavyweight champion with a very powerful punch to the stomach in the fifth round.
Usyk fell down and was in pain, but the referee quickly said the punch was below the belt. The referee gave Usyk five minutes to feel better.
After he stood up again, the current champion quickly took back control by throwing a series of punches in quick succession. He knocked down Dubois twice before the match was stopped in the ninth round. However, that was just the start of the exciting turn of events.
In the ring after the fight, Dubois, who was clearly very upset, told TNT Sports that he didn’t believe the hit was a low blow. He thought the punch had landed legally and felt like he had been unfairly kept from winning. I got tricked tonight.
Dubois’ manager, Frank Warren, strongly believes that the punch was fair and he plans to formally complain to the WBA for a rematch.
He told the reporters that the punch hit the waistband. Sometimes, when fighters enter, they wear shorts that are pulled up high or their protective cup or bodyguard is positioned high on their body. During the rules meeting, they decide that the middle point between their hips is considered their waist. He was struck on his waistband. In those situations, the WBA doesn’t have any other choice but to tell them to have a rematch.
When asked if he wanted to talk to the WBA about having another match, he said, “We don’t just want to talk to them, we’re going to forcefully confront them. ”
We will be present and say, “See, this is the meeting where we discuss the rules, and we want to have a rematch. ” Otherwise, there will be an issue, because I will not tolerate that. I have to do what is best for my fighter and make sure their interests are protected, and in this case, they won the fight.
He said, “Don’t act like a crybaby. ” We just wanted to be treated fairly, but we weren’t. What will happen is what I said. I’m very sure that once they look at all the evidence, they will either decide it’s a draw or tell us to have a rematch right away.
But Usyk and his team were very sure that there was no reason to be accused. The promoter, Alexander Krassyuk, showed a picture on his phone at the press conference after the fight, which indicated that Dubois’ punch had been below the belt.
‘Allow me to show you a picture that demonstrates the type of illegal strike it was. ‘ Can anyone tell us what is considered legal or illegal. Russ, do you know the definition of legal or illegal.
Abner said, “The belly button is the line. ” Anything that is said or done after something bad or hurtful is a mean and unfair way to try to hurt someone even more. If you hit someone below their waist, it is not considered a legal hit.
Usyk’s team also argued against Warren’s statement that the rules meeting had determined what is considered a low blow. Usyk even showed his belly button in relation to his waistband to prove his point.
Krassyuk said, “Usually, during the rules meeting, they talk about how if someone intentionally hits a fighter below the belt, they will receive a punishment of losing two points. ” If he does the same thing again, the referee can punish him once more or decide to disqualify him.
Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, said, ‘I want to explain this a bit, guys. In the meeting where the rules are discussed, low blows are not talked about. ‘ The term “low blow” is talked about when the referee and inspectors go into the locker room and explain the rules.
They always come in and tell you to be careful and not hit below the belly button. They say it’s fine to hit anything above the belly button, but not below it. Make sure to keep everything on top of the trunkline wherever you place it.
If a punch lands and touches the body, it’s considered acceptable, although some referees may disagree. But if you look closely, Dubois’ hand is right on the belt. When you throw an uppercut, like what happened here, and the glove lands completely below the waistline, then it is considered a low blow.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) held its Super Delegates Congress on Saturday, August 26, 2023, to select the top five candidates who will contest the party’s presidential primary in November.
Out of the eight aspirants who filed their nomination forms, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the clear front-runner with 629 votes, followed by Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong with 132 votes.
Former Trade and Industry Minister Alan John Kyeremanteng came in third with 95 votes, while former Food and Agriculture Minister Owusu Afriyie Akoto secured the fourth spot with 36 votes. The fifth position was tied between former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko and former Member of Parliament for Mampong Francis Addai-Nimoh, who both received nine votes each.
The other two aspirants, Economist Kofi Konadu Apraku and former General Secretary of the NPP Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, were eliminated from the race after failing to meet the minimum threshold of five per cent of the total valid votes cast.
The results have generated mixed reactions from political analysts and commentators. Some have praised Bawumia’s overwhelming victory as a reflection of his popularity and competence as the Vice President and a loyal deputy to President Nana Akufo-Addo. They have also lauded Agyapong’s impressive performance as a sign of his grassroots appeal and outspokenness on national issues.
Others have expressed surprise at Kyeremanteng’s low showing, given his previous attempts at the flagbearership and his perceived closeness to the party’s tradition.
The NPP will hold a run-off election between Addai-Nimoh and Agyarko on September 2, 2023, to determine who will join the other four candidates in the final round of the presidential primary.
The run-off winner will then face Bawumia, Agyapong, Kyeremanteng, and Akoto in the presidential primary on November 4, 2023. The presidential primary will be held in all 275 constituencies of the country and will be open to all registered members of the party.
The candidate who obtains more than 50 per cent of the total valid votes cast will be declared the flagbearer of the NPP for the 2024 general election.
The head of Kenya’s airports authority was dismissed due to a power failure that left passengers stranded without light for an extended period at Nairobi’s main airport.
Alex Gitari was dismissed by Transport Minister Kipchumba Murkomen, who expressed remorse for the chaotic situation. He said that when politics gets involved, it makes the workers feel down and unorganized.
The power company, which is mostly owned by the government, has not clearly stated the reason for the power outage that happened in the whole country.
Even though power has been fixed in some places, many homes and businesses in the country are still experiencing a power outage that started on Friday.
Tourism is really important for Kenya’s economy. It makes up around 10% of the money that the government has. The sector is also a major way for the East African nation to earn money in a different currency.
People in Kenya are really angry on social media because the main airport didn’t have working backup generators.
Apart from Mr. Gitari, another important official from the civil aviation authority has been fired. The manager of Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport has been moved to a lower position at Mombasa’s main airport.
In Kenya, there was a lot of confusion and long lines at the entrances to the national parks because the digital payment system didn’t work.
Power cuts happen often in Kenya, but it is not common for the entire country to have a long period without electricity. This recent outage affected important places like Nairobi’s main airport, hospitals, and even the State House.
When things don’t go well, Kenyans often blame corruption – the massive stealing of public money has been a major obstacle for the country’s progress.
The minister in charge of transportation said that two power generators that were bought for the airport two years ago still have not been put into use.
It would be cool to find out how much they cost, who got the contract, and why they have not been installed yet.
One of the presidential aspirants in the New Patriotic Patriotic Party’s Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku has faced an unforeseen twist in his journey as a flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Contrary to his expectations of crossing over to the next level, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku did not even secure a single vote in the just ended Super Delegates Conference which took place today, August 26, 2023.
Dr Apraku, a name synonymous with political experience, entered the contest with a rich background that included serving as a Minister of State for Regional Cooperation and NEPAD during the Kufuor administration.
However, the results defied expectations as Dr Apraku secured no votes during the party’s internal selection process.
At the end of the Presidential race, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged the candidate with the highest votes in the Super Delegates Conference. He amassed 629 of the total votes cast, with Kennedy Agyapong coming next with 132 votes and Alan securing the third spot in the Presidential race.
Dr Afriyie Akoto had 36, both Francis Addai-Nimoh and Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko had the 9 votes each.
Kwabena Agyei Agyapong had 6 votes and Dr Konadu Apraku zero votes.
Arsenal is the first team ever in Premier League history to let the opposing team score a goal in the first minute in three different matches within the same year.
Last season, Bournemouth scored a goal on their own field very quickly, in only 9. 11 seconds This happened more than once, so it became a common happening for them.
Arsenal was losing in the game, but they were able to make a great comeback and win with a goal by Reiss Nelson in extra time.
Southampton scored first in their game at the Emirates because Arsenal made a mistake and gave the ball away to Carlos Alcaraz, who took advantage of it. This happened when both teams were still competing for the title.
The Arsenal goalkeeper made a mistake again on Saturday. He was not in the right position and Pereira took advantage of that to score a goal, completing a hat-trick that Mikel Arteta’s team didn’t want.
Ramsdale’s location was cruelly exposed by Pereira, much to the chagrin of Martin Keown, while Bukayo Saka shared responsibility for his poorly directed backpass.
He noted that this was a common occurrence at the conclusion of the previous campaign, when Arsenal failed to capitalise on their leads in the title battle.
Ramsdale is so far off his line—I have no idea why he does this so frequently—and Pereira scores into the near post.
A member of the camp of former Trades Minister and NPP presidential aspirant, Alan Kyerematen, has made a candid but startling revelation to the effect that Mr Kyerematen’s camp engaged in vote buying in the just ended Super Delegates Conference.
He made the revelation during an interaction with the press after the Conference which took place on August 26, 2023.
“Ask the delegates whether they received money or not. I’m saying that nobody will deny the fact that when you’re contesting in an election you don’t pay money,” he said in response to a question posed by one of the journalists.
Asked by another journalist if the Alan camp also paid some money, he noted that: “If I sit here and I say no I’m a hypocrite. How can you believe someone who says he’s contesting an election and did not give a dime? We have something small that we give to them for T and T,” he said.

Erik ten Hag has a difficult decision to make at the position of left-back because both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are injured.
Diogo Dalot is expected to temporarily fill in, while Alvaro Fernandez is also available, although the 20-year-old has not played for United before in a professional game.
According to the Daily Express, Manchester United are thinking about getting a temporary player to fix their problem at left-back position, and they have their eye on Bertrand.
The person is 34 years old and has won the Champions League, FA Cup, and Europa League with Chelsea. They recently left Leicester City and are now available to join a new team without any transfer fees.
The report says that United have started talking to Bertrand’s agents about possibly signing him to play at Old Trafford.
During an interview, Ten Hag was asked if they plan on getting a new left-back before the transfer window closes. He replied that if there are good chances available, then they would consider it.
We need to find the correct person for the role. If not, we will have to handle the current team.
‘Before the season started, we thought about different possibilities and made plans for our transfers. If the situation we’re facing now happened, we already have a solution. ‘
What was meant to be a streamlined process for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has transformed into a riveting tale of political intrigue as six candidates have surged ahead in the party’s leadership race.
The NPP‘s initial intent was to reduce its candidate pool from ten to a more manageable size, five. However, the unexpected happened as two candidates secured the same number of votes, making the finalists six.
Francis Addai-NimoahBoakye Agyarko
The candidates in question are; Member of the 6th Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, Francis Addai-Nimoh and Former Energy Minister, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko who both secured 9 out of the total ballots cast.
