Nollywood actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has dragged her colleague actor Dave Ogbeni after he asked her to move on from her ex-husband.
Tonto Dikeh has been throwing subtle shades on her Instagram page for a few days. She took to her page a few days ago and stated that a lot of people trolled her for using her money to feed her ex-husband but those who trolled her are also doing the same thing.
Reacting to the comments of Tonto Dikeh, actor Dave Ogbeni said that it was irritating for people to constantly dwell on their ex without moving on and keep putting the drama online. He further advised Tonto Dikeh to move on as her ex-husband has.
“All these ex-husband and ex-boyfriend drama is quite irritating though. Can they just keep quiet and handle things privately or move on for goodness sake”
It seems the comment by actor Dave did not sit well with Tonto Dikeh as she spits fire in her next response. According to her, she cannot be advised to move on from a man she dumped herself.
“To the move on gang,” I’m sorry to say that no amount of shaming will deter me from “speaking my story”
It’s called my because it belongs to me. to be told whenever and where ever I choose to.
No one teaches us how to go through our nightmares. it’s my horror to speak…
You can’t teach me how to tell my story!!
So do save the word “Move on* cause i’ll make you type that many more
times& we gon be around a long time hearing my story when i feel like it!!
No man born of a woman can stop me/limit my voice or change my story
Finally, you don’t tell a woman to move on from a man she dumped make it make sense”
Even after more than 20 years in the music industry, 50 Centis still setting significant artistic milestones.
The G-Unit mogul’s 2003 smash “In Da Club” passed one billion streams on Spotify on Wednesday (December 14) and became the first song to accomplish this feat on the streaming service.
The song’s cultural impact hasn’t diminished despite turning 20 years old next month. The official music video exceeded 1.5 billion views on YouTube in July, making it the most-watched rap video from the 2000s on the site.
During his unexpected debut at the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show in February, 50 Cent also performed the classic track and even brought back the G-Unit tank top and headband he’d previously worn.
When celebrating the track’s 18th birthday in 2021, 50 revealed it was still getting up to 1,000 spins a week on radio stations.
“Hey you ain’t gonna believe this one, but 18 years ago today i dropped a song i recorded in LA and it’s still spinning 1,000 times a week at radio,” he wrote on Instagram. “I tell @eminem i love him for what he did for me, he put me on.”
Abdul Razak feels that if he had been in command of the national team, the Black Stars would have won the Africa Cup of Nations, which has eluded the nation for many years.
In the past ten years, the Black Stars have come dangerously close to ending their trophy drought. In 2010, Angola lost the final to Egypt, and in 2015, Equatorial Guinea-Gabon saw the Stars lose to Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout.
The Asante Kotoko legend who feels he is competent to lead the team has been ignored many times when he applies for the vacant job.
“What do we want to win? Cup of Nations, we would have won it if I were to be the coach of the Black Stars. Even if I will not give me the coaching job, let me be there in spirit with them and I believe wherever we want to go, we can”
“I cannot force them to give me the Black Stars job. I have not been given any job to do not to even serve on the management. I think my presence can push the boys”
Abdul Razak won the AFCON with the Black Stars in 1978 and was named the African Best Player of the year later in that year.
The Black Stars were eliminated after the first round of the tournament following a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay.
After defeating South Korea in their second group game, the Black Stars needed a draw or win against Uruguay to advance to the last 16 stage.
But the team failed to negotiate for points against their ‘enemies’ Uruguay.
Ghana made a strong start to the game, but fell apart after captain Andre Ayew missed a penalty in the 21st minute, a repeat of what happened in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The Black Stars is currently without a coach after the exit of Otto Addo.

Abdul Razak, a veteran in Ghanaian football, has voiced his unhappiness at repeatedly being passed up for the Black Stars coaching position.
When he applies for the open position, the legendary Asante Kotoko player who believes he is qualified to manage the team has frequently been rejected.
“I have applied for the Black Stars job for three times with my CV. I’m a proud Ghanaian and not a foreigner. They’ve snubbed me all three times for reasons best known to them”
“I remember before the second coming of coach Kwesi Appiah, they asked interested coaches in the vacant Black Stars job to submit their CV’s which I did. After I applied, a journalist called me and told me on phone that he has seen my application but it’s unfortunate I won’t get the job. That was when realization hit me that it’s true I won’t get the job”
“I have achieved a lot both as a player and a coach. Football is all about winning trophies and it’s sad if a coach doesn’t win trophies”
Meanwhile, Abdul Razak believes the Black Stars could have won the Africa Cup of Nations that has eluded the country for many years if he had been in charge of the national team

In retaliation over the confiscation of their cell phones, some second-year students at Sandema Senior High School in the Upper East Region set fire to some of the dormitories at their school.
Moses Appiah, the regional correspondent for Class 91.3 FM, reported that the students were protesting the head of the school’s cadet corps for taking their cell phones on campus.
In the process of the violent protest, the students went ahead to burn a building that houses the cadet accoutrements of the school.
The fire then escalated to other rooms including the school’s dormitory where the District Fire Service team came to the rescue.
The Upper East Regional chapter of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary School (CHASS), Richard Akumbasi, speaking after the incident noted that students’ indiscipline was becoming too much in the region.
According to him, just a few days ago, students of Kusanaba Senior High School and management were at loggerheads over where to hold an examination.
“It’s sad that each day we have to be talking about students and violence at the various schools.
“Indiscipline is a matter of concern, and I think parents and stakeholders involved ought to find a solution to this.
“What was it about with these students in Sandema Senior High School, just a seizure of a mobile phone?
“And the students think that burning school property was the way to go.
Then, we are really in trouble as a society,” he noted.
Touching on the action taken by the school management against the students, the chairman indicated that the caretaker of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the region will soon set up a committee to investigate the matter.
“Currently, the caretaker director of GES will hold a committee meeting whether today or tomorrow Friday, December 16, 2022 to see the way forward.
“But for me, these students should be tasked to pay damage fees,” he suggested
Clubs in Europe and Asia have been made aware of Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh‘s availability during the January transfer window, and he is swiftly becoming a hot commodity on the local scene.
Hearts of Oak’s 21-year-old attacker has been a bright spot for the team in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak could lose prized asset, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh as the player has reportedly refused to extend his contract with the club which runs out very soon.
Barnieh was part of the Black Stars squad that played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar although he did not play a single minute but featured in Ghana’s last preparatory game against Switzerland where he shone.
Hearts have tabled a new proposal before the player but he and his representatives have rejected it with a move away on the cards.
The club has been in talks with the player about extending his contract with them for a while but no agreement has been reached with reports claiming that that the player has now decided against renewing his contract with Hearts.
Afriyie Barnieh was the subject of interest from teams abroad with some Scandinavian clubs the most interested but Hearts did not entertain any offers.
The forward joined Accra Hearts of Oak three seasons ago after passing trials with the club and has since gone on to become a fan’s favourite.
He has been integral in Hearts of Oak recent rise helping the club win the Ghana Premier League title two season ago and also winning MTN FA Cup in two consecutive seasons among others.
Barnieh has earned call-ups to the Black Stars and was recently handed his Ghana debut in the 1-0 win against Nicaragua in Spain.
The Hearts forward also helped Ghana qualify for the CHAN tournament with the Black Galaxies for the first time in eight years.
If there is no drastic change, Hearts is bound to lose Daniel Afriyie Barnieh on a free transfer as the player is keen to seek greener pastures.

The fire which occurred Wednesday dawn behind the chief’s palace razed down three single rooms and a wooden kitchen structure and had all its content completely burnt.

The Eastern Regional Fire Service Commander ACFO Jennifer Naa Yaaley Quaye who confirmed the incident to Citi News indicated that some other occupants were rescued.
She revealed that her outfit has begun investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire.
In a related development, fire on Sunday destroyed some rooms at the Kpando Aloyi Police rented quarters in the Volta Region.

The Ghana National Fire Service personnel managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other rooms at the apartment. It took the service personnel about two hours to bring the fire under complete control.
Former Deputy General Secretary of the oppositionNational Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has accused former President John Mahama and General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia of destroying the party, per the latter’s latest revelation.
According to Koku, the duo have abused the NDC constitution in their bid to control the party.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, who is challenging incumbent National Chairman Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo for the position, has revealed that there was some misunderstanding after former President Mahama through the former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, proposed that the Director of Elections and Director of IT should be appointed after the presidential primaries.
He explained that the proposal was purposely made because the flagbearer should be able to have a say in who he would like to work with in that regard.
In the audio believed to have been leaked, Asiedu Nketiah said that the proposal did not go well with the National Chairman, Ofosu-Ampofo, who at the time expressed his displeasure.
Asiedu Nketiah also alleged that the chairman had also said that he could do as he pleased in his capacity as chair until the flagbearer election is held and John Mahama cannot stop him.
“Former President Mahama sent Julius Debrah (the former chief of staff during Mahama’s administration) to plead with the party leadership not to appoint a director of elections and a director of IT until the party completes its presidential primaries because the flagbearer of the party must have a say on who becomes the director of elections and the director of IT. As soon as Julius finished speaking, Ampofo said he considers the submission offensive to him and his authority as the leader of the NDC party,” Asiedu Nketiah alleged.
“Ampofo said that Mahama can only become the leader of the party after the flagbearer election has been held. Until then, he [Ofosu-Ampofo] remains the only leader of the party, and so he can do as he pleases as he [Mahama] cannot stop him because he [Mahama] is an ordinary party member of the NDC,” Asiedu Nketiah added.
Asiedu Nketiah explained that this comment caused some misunderstanding between the Mahama and Ofosu camps.
“The position of Ofosu-Ampofo brought about a serious misunderstanding at the meeting. The meeting thus became a fight between the Mahama faction and the Ofosu Ampofo faction. I [Asiedu Nketiah] sat down quietly and listened to all that was going on,” Asiedu Nketiah added.
But commenting on the matter on Kasapa 102.5FM/Agoo TV on Thursday, Koku Anyidoho stated that it’s important that Mr. Mahama and Asiedu Nketiah are stopped in their tracks now from further destroying the great NDC party.
“Look at what Asiedu Nketiah is telling us—that John Mahama sent Julius Debrah to the National Executive Committee (NEC) that they should reserve some positions and when he becomes flagbearer he will appoint those people. Since when? Which article in the NDC constitution gives that power to Mahama, who at the time was yet to be elected a flagbearer? I say confidently that John Mahama and Asiedu Nketia have destroyed the NDC. When I say this, I’m tagged as “anti-John Mahama. I’m not anti-Mahama; I’m pro-NDC and will always seek the interest of the party.”
“I didn’t see Rawlings abuse the NDC, I didn’t see John Evans Attah Mills abuse the NDC constitution. So why should I allow John Mahama to abuse the NDC constitution? Asiedu Nketiah in the tape was telling us that the 2020 election was for Mahama and so he had a right to make appointments in the party. Since when did an election belong to an individual and not rather for the party? Since when did the NDC election become John Mahama’s election? Mahama and Asiedu Nketiah have acted in ways that have destroyed the party, today, Asiedu Nketiah has exposed John Mahama and himself.”
According to sources, some of her mates heard a baby crying at dawn on the corridor of the dormitory.
They curiously moved out and to their surprise the student was carrying the baby to allegedly dump it into a nearby latrine on campus.
They alerted the senior house mistress who rushed to the scene to take the baby and mother to the Eastern Regional Hospital.
They were admitted and have been discharged.
Management of the school has informed and invited parents of the Arts -one(1) student to a meeting for a decision to be taken for the collective good of both mother and baby.
Teenage pregnancy cases in Eastern region continue to increase.
The situation worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 when schools were shut down for nearly a year.
A total of over 10,000 teenage pregnancy cases were recorded in 2021 in the Eastern region, according to Ghana Health Service.
This has necessitated some interventions such as “back to school” where Ghana Education Service staff move to communities to encourage pregnant and teenage mothers to return to school.
In Akyemansa District for instance, “Safe and Protective Environment for Adolescent Development (SPREAD)” project is being implemented in 40 rural communities in the district by Ark Development Organization (ADO), an NGO with support from UNICEF in partnership with Global Affairs Canada to curb alarming teenage pregnancy, assist pregnant students and teen mother’s return to school.
“Cross your leg;100% cross your leg” is a slogan coined to cause behavioral change in that regard.
The project officer of Ark Development Organization, David Kwaning says 89 of 369 adolescent mothers recorded in 2020 have so far been identified for assistance to go back to school or enrolled in economic empowerment program or legal aid.
“Per what the Ghana Education Service gave us, we have about 369 adolescent mothers in the district as at 2020.so we are to identify them and then assist them in three ways. Some of them have to go back to school, others too need justice ,other too need health assistance. So we have identified 89 of the Adolescent mothers” David Kwaning Project Officer said.
Meanwhile the NGO is initiating legal action against a man who took undue advantage of a 12 year old vulnerable girl who dropped out of school after her father died, exploited her in child labour, defiled and impregnated her.
The project has reached 1,577 out of target adolescents of 2000 with four months to end.
A man believed to be in his 50s identified as Eric Tetteh has drowned in a river at Assin Akrofuom in the Assin South District of the Central region.
The lifeless body of the deceased was found in the River Dwawere Wednesday, December 14, 2022, afternoon.
The deceased was said to have gone swimming with his friend only for him to be later discovered drowned.
The friend was nowhere to be found after the father of four drowned.
The Police at Assin Anyinabrim led by the Station Officer, Inspector Karim Wayo went to the river and retrieved the body which has since been deposited at St. Francis Xavier Hospital Mortuary.
Police have commenced investigation into the matter.
A “Trotro” (commercial vehicle) driver and his accomplice (conductor), as shown in a video making the rounds on social media, severely beat a police officer in Cape Coast.
The motorist and his friend were seen in the video dragging the police officer to the ground and severely hitting him.
A situational report following the incident indicates that on Monday, December 12, 2022, the police officer was directing traffic at the University of Cape Coast main gate, and the driver and his mate were on board a Mercedes Benz Trotro (commercial vehicle) from Elmina, heading towards Accra.
According to the report, on reaching the UCC gate, they were arrested by the officer for a motor traffic offence and were asked to drive the vehicle to the police headquarters at Pedu in the Central Region.
The aforementioned driver then notoriously drove the car past the police headquarters and stopped later at the Hacienda Hotel in Cape Coast, where he brought out the police officer who was inside the car and subjected him to severe beatings until he was rescued by passersby.
The incident was captured by an eyewitness who happened to be at the scene at the time of the incident, and it was circulated.
Close sources to the police say that the said driver, identified as Jephter Boateng, and his accomplice (mate), Sadick Arthur, are currently in custody and assisting the police with investigations.
Speaking in an XYZ TV interview monitored by GhanaWeb, Asiedu Nketiah said that he had served in the General Secretary position for too long and had to leave to give the youth of the party the opportunity to also serve.
He added that he took the decision to leave the general secretary position eight years ago but was persuaded to stay for the sake of the party.
“I have never believed that the chief executive of an organisation should be at post for too long. I consider 17 years (as General Secretary of the NDC) to be too long. I have demonstrated this all my life. I decided not to be a Member of Parliament again after three terms, not because somebody could have removed me but because I want to give the youth who had served me the chance to lead,” he said in Twi.
He added that many people in the NDC had previously told him that they have the dream of becoming general secretary, but they are not contesting because they do not want to challenge him.
Asiedu Nketiah also explained that people staying in political party positions for too long makes the party less attractive to the youth.
He added that, comparing the NDC to the NPP (New Patriotic Party), the youth in the NPP transition faster to top positions than their NDC counterparts, which makes them more attractive.
“Look at this young man who became the General Secretary of the NPP (Justin Kodua Frimpong). He started in the NPP just 10 years ago. So, if he started in the same university as NDC members and he, a TESCON member, has risen from president (of TESCON) to youth organiser and now to the national organiser of the NPP, the youth will be more attracted to the NPP because they will feel they progress faster there,” he said.
Some leading members of the NDC, including Ambassador Victor Smith and Kojo Adu-Asare, have suggested that Asiedu Ntetiah’s decision to challenge the current chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, is because he is bitter for not being chosen as the running mate of John Dramani Mahama for the 2020 presidential elections.
The party’s national elections are slated for Saturday, December 17, 2022.
Candidates will be contesting for various positions, including the National Chairman, National Vice-Chairmen, General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary, National Organiser, Deputy National Organiser, and the National Treasurer and Deputy National Treasurer.
Others are the National Communications Officer and Deputy, as well as the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator.
The current National Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, is expected to face stiff competition from the outgoing General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, for the chairmanship position.
The two nations’ commitment to maximizing the prospects provided by the AfCFTA is strengthened by the launch of value-added products under the brand name KETEPA.
Previously, Ghana has transported ceramics and palm kernel oil to Kenya and Cameroon through its National Coordination Office of the AfCFTA (GTI).
1700 cartons of the tea made by Kenya Tea Packers (KETAPA), a division of Kenya Tea Development Agency Holdings Ltd., were included in the maiden shipment of a 20-foot container (KTDA)
Kenya is the third largest producer of tea globally – behind China and India, and in 2021, exported 305, 000 metric tons worth US$ 1.2 billion.
Speaking at the unveiling of the first consignment, Eliphas Barine, Kenyan High Commissioner to Ghana, said, the African market is world’s largest free trade area with about 1.3 billion-person market.
He said, however, that intra-Africa trade was less than 20 per cent – a situation that needed to change as the continent was committed to creating wealth and prosperity for its people.
“…and the introduction of the KETEPA tea Ghana is a testimony of changing the narrative by leveraging the opportunities AfCFTA presents,” Mr Barine said.
He said Africa was under stress in her socioeconomic development and called for supporting and buying African products to create jobs for her rapidly growing youth population.
Catherine Afeku, responsible for Strategic Communications, National AfCFTA Coordination Office, said, having KETEPA tea in Ghana indicated that the single African market was bearing fruits.
She said Ghana would sooner than later send some chocolate, other cocoa products and coconut oil to Kenya, so “there are opportunities in Kenya for our entrepreneurs to explore.”
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, the former Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, said Africa needed trade to stop the dependency on the western world.
“There is a plethora of value-added products in Ghana and our jobs is to let the Ghanaian entrepreneurs know what is possible under the Guide Trade and AfCFTA,” she said.
“The GTI seeks to allow commercially meaningful trading and test the operational, institutional, legal and trade policy environment under the AfCFTA.
“The products earmarked to trade under this initiative include ceramic tiles, batteries, tea, coffee, processed meat products, corn starch, sugar, pasta, glucose syrup, dried fruits, and sisal fiber among others.”
The ministry’s budgetary allocation for the fiscal year has increased significantly from GH530.6 million in 2022, representing a 16.5% rise.
A total of GH 475.3 million was released during the reviewed year, with GH 419.96 million being spent by the Ministry as of September 2022.
Regarding the plans and expectations for 2023, the Ministry would keep building up local technical and human resources for maintaining the railway system in 2023.
This would be done by organising workshops and equipping the youth through practical hands-on training to create jobs and wealth to support the growth of the economy.
In 2023, the construction of the 22km Kojokrom-Manso section of the Western Railway Line and the 97.97km of the Tema-Mpakadan Line are expected to be completed and operationalised, being the first standard gauge railway line in Ghana.
He noted that in the short to medium term, there was the possibility of linking the Western Railway Line, which was 35 to 40 per cent complete, to the Boankra Inland Port.
The Eastern Line, had, however, seen no improvement.
“On the completion of the Western Line, there is the possibility that we may move on through the Port of Takoradi to the Boankra Inland Port,” Mr Amewu said.
“So, that is what we are doing while looking to the long term of completing the Eastern Railway Line.”
Mr Kennedy Nyarko Osei, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Transport, who seconded the motion, said the Committee noted the challenges of the Ministry with encroachment on lands earmarked for railway projects.
He said those challenges had financial implications since the Government had to compensate those encroachers when projects were being undertaken to get the right of way on its own land, which delayed the work.
Mr Osei, who is a Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, said the Committee was concerned about the Ministry’s ability to take the necessary steps to protect all earmarked lands and properties from encroachment.
The Committee was informed about illegal mining (galamsey) activities, which were causing damage to railway infrastructure resulting in huge financial losses.
Mr Osei said the Ministry would require an estimated two million dollars to reclaim lands destroyed as a result of illegal mining activities.
He urged the Ministry to collaborate with the National Security and Lands and Natural Resources ministries, through Operation Halt, to curb the activities of galamsey operators.
Touching on the Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal, the Chairman said there was the need for a railway line from Boankra to be extended to the Tema Port to facilitate the transportation of heavy goods to the inland Port.
He suggested that with the annual amount that Parliament approves every year, the House should take a position and allocate $200 million for the next five years for anyone who would want to come and build the railway system.
Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the NPP Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, said it was high time for massive investment in the railway sector to make it more vibrant.
Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Deputy Ranking Member on the Roads and Transport Committee, and MP for Adaklu, urged the ruling NPP Government to give credit to the opposition NDC for initiating some development projects while it was in office, such as the Tema-Npakanda Railway Line.
A 10,000-acre mixed-use economic area known as the Economic Enclave Project is part of the Ghana CARES program and aims to develop a workable ecosystem for the private sector to engage in commercial farming.
In terms of rice, tomato, maize, soy, vegetables, and poultry, the goal is to greatly increase Ghana’s production capacity.
The EEP complements existing Government agriculture initiatives (e.g. Planting for Food and Jobs and Rearing for Food and Jobs) as a targeted effort to assist the private sector to engage in commercial agriculture.
About 200,000 jobs (105,000 direct and 95,000 indirect jobs) are expected to be created by the EPP for unemployed youth, which would also provide them with a decent source of income, with beneficiaries undergoing mandatory training on good agronomic practices in rice production, group dynamics, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking on behave of the President, the Chief of Staff of Ghana, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare noted that, over the last few years, the Government had been charting a path to a Ghana Beyond Aid, but several overlapping malevolent forces, including the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, had viciously interrupted the pursuit of economic transformation.
“It would be unwise to continue to put pressure on the Cedi by importing vast amounts of food items that we can produce locally. It would be unwise to continue to depend on others for our food and other essentials when supply chains have proven unreliable, and rising nationalism can be easily instigated.”
“In fact, it would be unwise to keep supporting employment elsewhere by importing more when our youth continue to actively look for jobs here. It would be unwise not to allow the private enterprise to lead the transformation of our economy.” the President added.
The First Gentleman of the land indicated that the project would help reduce imports, improve Ghana’s food security, promote value-addition and accelerate infrastructural development and enhance market linkages in food growing areas.
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, in his speech, described the programme as a watershed moment in economic history and added that the EPP through the Ghana CARES programme would provide a catalytic framework to holistically address the structural challenges in the economy by shifting Ghana from import-driven to a self-sufficient and export-oriented economy.
To this end, the Finance Minister extended Government’s invitation to individuals, private sector actors, organized groups, churches, traditional leaders, and financial institutions who could secure or own 1000 acres and above, to come on board.
“We will provide support such as land development and facilitate access to credit, including the recently approved GH¢500 million from the Development Bank Ghana” he assured.
The Minister added that “This is a real and collective effort to replicate the images of the mass land of cultivated fields we see while flying over other countries that are characterized as the “food baskets” of the world.”
He revealed that the project would also help the country to improve its food security and enable it to eventually optimize the single market opportunities that the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) offered.
The Minister for Defence, Mr. Dominic Nitiwul, on his part, said, when the Economic Enclave Project was sustained and extended to other parts of the country, Ghana would not only be in the capacity to produce more but be self-sufficient and even export its produce.
Numo Moses Otutetey Akpakposu, the Father of the Kusanya Stool Land, lamented that farmers in Tsopoli and its surrounding communities often suffered a lot of post-harvest losses because they did not have access to mechanized processing and other facilities.
He was, however, optimistic that these challenges would be a thing of the past with the implementation of the EEP and called on all stakeholders to give it the needed support to improve the lives of farmers, traders, and all actors in the agriculture value chain to earn more income.
The implementation of the EEP is led by Key Millennium Development Authority together with these key partners; Ministry of Food and Agriculture; Ministry of Defence (48 Engineers Regiment – Ghana Armed Forces); Ministry of Energy; Ministry of Roads and Highways; Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority.
The rest are National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme; Ghana Incentive-based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending; Private Agriculture Value Chain Actors; MasterCard Foundation; and the Youth.
The project is expected to be extended to the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, Western North, Savannah, and Oti regions.
Sherif says he was bullied due to his name, the one he has made popular in most of his tracks – Kwaku Frimpong.
The rapper was born Kwaku Frimpong and has the Muslim name Sherif Muhamed Ismail.
According to him, during his younger years, he was bullied for being Muslim yet having a generic name like Kwaku Frimpong.
He said that relentless bullying led him to use that name a lot in his music as a way of honouring it.
“You see now I use Kwaku, KK (Kwaku Killa), a lot. I used to get bullied for it,” he said in during an interview with Spotify RADAR Africa.
According to him, bullies would descend on him saying: “How are you, a Muslim, calling yourself Frimpong?
“[Because of that] I didn’t like the Frimpong name, even though that’s my father’s name.”
“Due to that history, I have always felt I have to do something, I have a debt to pay, pay my dues, so that name would be mentioned and honoured. This is why I never front Sherif Muhammed Ismail a lot. I [rather] front Kwaku Frimpong,”
“That [name] is my actual identity,” he added.
It’s fitting, considering he came to the limelight in Second Sermon, a song that heavily featured the Kwaku Frimpong story.
Ghanaian businessman and real estate developer, Nana Kwame Bediakobetter known as Freedom Jacob Caesarhas once again shared his humble beginning to encourage young men and women.
According to the famous businessman nicknamed Cheddar, he made his first million pounds at the age of 21 when he travelled to England for educational purposes.
Speaking in an interview with Samuel Leeds, the owner of the No.1 Oxford Street Hotel detailed how he started his small business back in college at the back of his car boot.
Cheddar sold fake Versace and YSL clothes and made some good profit out of it.
“I made my first million pounds at the age of 21 and I will tell you exactly what happened. I was living in England and I was sent there to go to college and I was selling fake Versace and YSL shirts in the back of my 205 GTI which I bought for 499 pounds.
“My capital when I was going to London was 6000 dollars. My mum, my brothers and everybody gave me 130 pounds which they taught was big money for me but I was laughing in my head…It was in 1994, I remember very well and I bought a Panasonic chip phone and so I was like the new kid on the block. Then I met Johnny Prescott, he was selling the jeans and the shirts. I just wanted to buy one pair of jeans and one pair of shit but when I saw the prices, 30 and 20 pounds, I offered him 20 pounds and 15 for the shirt and I put it at the back of my boot and I was selling it for 50 and 40. So I started making money from the boot but I fell into the streets because I already understood what business was. At that point, business was me from where I was coming from,” Cheddar disclosed.
Young Cheddar started buying scraps from salvages to resell. This also fetched him some good income, contributing to his million pounds at the age of 21.
In a motivational message to the public, he said: “The beginning of business can start from a bad corner, you just need to turn it around and establish it…the naked truth of Freedom Jacob Caesar is coming out in the book that is about to come out.”
Burna Boy’s ex, Stefflon Don, took to social media to flaunt the romantic surprise she received from her new boyfriend on her birthday.
One can recall that Burna Boy and Stefflon recently threw jabs at each other after the latter called him a “mummy’s boy” in one of her TikTok videos.
The UK singer seems to have given love another chance, following her messy split from her ex-lover, Oluwadamini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy.
Stefflon, who turned 31 years on December 14, 2022, shared a romantic video of her birthday surprise from her new man. The video features rose petals, balloons, and designer gifts.
Following Argentina’s quarterfinal victory over the Netherlands, a security guard at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar passed away after falling from the World Cup stadium.
John Njau Kibue, a Kenyan, was first described as having a serious but stable condition; nevertheless, he passed away after three days in the hospital.
Qatari organisers say they “are investigating the circumstances leading to the fall as a matter of urgency”.
The 24-year-old’s sister told CNN they have not been given an explanation.
“We want justice. We want to know what caused his death. They have never sent us a picture to show where he fell from or given us any other information,” Ann Wanjiru said.
Kibue’s family told CNN he moved to Qatar in November to work on a contract with a local security firm.
Kibue is the second migrant worker reported to have died since the start of the World Cup on 20 November. A Filipino national fell to his death while carrying out repairs at a resort used as a training base by the Saudi Arabian team, The Athletic reported.
While the tournament’s supreme committee stressed that that death happened on property outside its jurisdiction, it said it offered “sincere condolences” to Kibue’s family, colleagues and friends.
A report by the Guardian newspaper last year said 6,500 migrant workers had died in Qatar since the country was awarded the World Cup in 2010.
That has been denied by the Qatari authorities, who say there have been three work-related deaths in construction related directly to the tournament, and a further 37 non-work-related deaths. They say that figure increases to between 400 and 500 when all infrastructure projects needed to support the tournament are factored in.
When hiring, you must practice Know Your Employee, he stated (KYE ). Understand the candidate you are hiring.
Make sure to confirm their credentials, and inquire about any criminal histories with the police’s Criminal Investigations Department.
Employers are required to cross-check prospective hires against this database maintained by the Bank of Ghana in order to prevent criminals from being recycled.
“…When you are employing, you have to do Know Your Employee (KYE ). Know the person you are recruiting. Make sure you do a verification of their qualifications; check from the police Criminal Investigations Department about any criminal record…The Bank of Ghana also has a database of persons that may have caused certain fraud in banks — employers must crosscheck potential employees against this database to ensure criminals are not recycled,” Mr George Nkrumah, who heads the Financial Integrity Office of the Bank of Ghana advised at the start of a workshop put together by the central bank and the Committee for Cooperation between the Law enforcement and Banking Community (COCLAB).
Mr Nkrumah reminded banks to take employee background verification seriously so as to pre-empt the rising number of employee fraud among bankers.
His comment comes after commercial banks last year lost nearly GHc20 million to employee-related fraud.
According to the 2018 Bank of Ghana report, commercial banks lost about GHC 20 million to fraud carried out mainly by their own employees.
In per cent terms, employee fraud cases rose by 50% in 2018 with respect to 2017 with employee-related rising by 78%.
The bank of Ghana has therefore advised that Know Your Employee (KYE) be carried out thoroughly.
At the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Ghana held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in the 2022 World Cup final play-offs to secure qualification for the grand tournament.
The first leg in Kumasi ended goalless and goals from Thomas Partey and William Troost-Ekong ensured the return game also ended all square to leave the tie at 1-1 on aggregate after 180 minutes, but the Black Stars claimed the ticket to Qatar 2022 on the away goals rule.
Balogun said, “It’s the first leg, we did not score, that would have changed the whole picture probably.”
“It’s a bit funny because that season the away goal-rule was scrapped everywhere. I don’t know why they didn’t do it in Africa. I have no clue, until this day, I don’t understand.
“We did go to Ghana to play that first leg and it was a tough game. There was this whole fuss about them changing the stadium last minute where they’ve never lost, and they said whether juju may or may not have been involved.
“It was really, really tough and we ended up playing 0-0. I remember we had a meeting one or two days after and one of the staff said we’re 70 percent through and I thought to myself that can’t be right.
“We played a goalless draw away from home, if that’s helpful to anyone then it’s Ghana. We said we have to just pour our hearts out for that game.”
The majority of Ghana’s cocoa is produced in the Western and Western North regions.
According to CMC data, however, of the nearly 500,000 tonnes of cocoa that were shipped during the 2019/2020 cocoa season, 52% were shipped from Takoradi, 42% from Tema, and 6% from Kumasi.
Despite Takoradi being the hub for cocoa shipments, the business blamed this on the fact that only two or three transport lines called there.
“I therefore appeal to cocoa marketing company to fast track efforts to make the port of Takoradi, their hub for all cocoa exporting in order to expand the associated job opportunity for the people in the region especially as with coming into operation, the ACT container and the multipurpose terminal by Ibis Tek ,and shipping lines can no longer have any excuse concerning draft limitations recalling at the Takoradi port .”
He continued, “I also want to make it clear that we have enough space at the Takoradi port for businesses, for shippers, for oil and gas companies and for tourism communities, in fact there is no congestion in the Takoradi port and the ease in doing business here in Takoradi is very excellent.”
The Atlantic Terminal Services Multi-purpose container terminal development is part of the container and multi-purpose terminal concession partnership between GPHA, IbisTek Limited, and AFC-Equity of the Africa Finance Corporation.
The terminal developed now presents a 600 metre quay wall at -16m water depth along the berths. There is also a terminal space of 9.8 hectares (98,000) square metres fitted with civil engineering terminal facilities and utilities services for container terminal operations.
Crane rails have been provided in anticipation of the most modern ship-to-ship (STS) container handling cranes.
The oil and gas services terminal to be developed will provide 21 hectares of serviced terminal area.
Following the implementation of a business trainer of trainees program for women in business management skills, in order to enable them to profit from the business, it is anticipated that commercial operations of shea butter processors in the Bole area of the Savannah Region will flourish.
The beneficiaries, selected from five (5) communities in the Bole district of the Savannah Region, had their capacity built in high-quality productions, smart marketing tactics, solid customer relations, and smart packaging that will satisfy consumer demand and help them make some money to expand their businesses.
The program gave the 600 or so women cooperatives represented by the women organizations an opportunity to communicate and discuss their manufacturing and marketing experiences.
They were also linked to some investors to secure funding for their production.
It was organised by PureTrust Foundation-LBG, a Non-Governmental Organisation, with support from United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) under its West Africa Competiveness Project (WACOMP), and the European Union.
The WACOMP project invests in enhancing the export competitiveness of cosmetic and other products in Ghana.
The beneficiary groups in the Bole district, who are producers of Shea butter and other cosmetic products, are part of the Pagsung Shea Alliance led by Pagsung Shea Cooperative Association – a women-led group based in Tamale.
The facilitator, Madam Rabi Bashiru Nuhu of Chibo House of Chemicals, said the training was to educate women on the need to add value to their products; and how to develop market strategies, good customer relations, among others, to boost their businesses.
This was to help revamp the business of women that was collapsing due to the economic situation and price hikes which have made things difficult for their soap-making businesses.
Most of them were on the verge of abandoning their businesses while others complained they were not able to recoup their capital invested, she explained.
“In business, there are two things when prices increase; it’s either you reduce the quantity of your product and sell it the same price, or you maintain the quantity and increase the price,” she said.
The programmes coordinator for Pure Trust Foundation-LBG, Alhassan Abdallah, said with the inception of COVID-19, most Shea butter businesses collapsed and the impact affected a majority of the women groups.
“Our research shows that most of the women who continue to produce the soap and other products do not make adequate profits due to high cost of the inputs; hence the refresher training,” he said.
Madam Martha Agandaa, Project support staff of PureTrust, encouraged beneficiary women to take the training seriously and apply knowledge gained to improve their income generation and livelihoods.
She also urged them to learn lessons from the challenges and successes of their businesses, adding that this will help them improve their business management abilities.

“The beginning of business can start from a bad corner, you just need to turn it around and establish it…the naked truth of Freedom Jacob Caesar is coming out in the book that is about to come out,” he said in a motivational message to the public.
Why does that matter?
It indicates that God has given you some blessings, such as excellent land, abundant rainfall and sunshine, the ability to grow maize, which is used to make flour and bread, and the ability to export all of this, as opposed to us, who import flour to make our bread.
We must reconsider.”
Ghanaian businessman, Kofi Amoah, has asserted that Ghana is more focused on importing goods to sell than manufacturing products.
He noted that the Ghanaian economy is largely service-based. This he said, leads the economy to fail.
Speaking on GhanaWeb’s The Lowdown programme, Kofi Amoah, who is otherwise known as Citizen Kofi said, “We have become a buy and sell country. We are not a make and sell. We are not manufacturing things. We are importing things outside, things we should be able to make. So until your economy has become more sophisticated, if, at the beginning stages, the service sector is the largest portion of your economy, you are on your road to failure. We must be an economy that is making things.”
He stated that government needs to re-strategise its plan to ensure that most of the goods are manufactured locally for Ghanaians perusal and to large extent exported.
Citizen Kofi noted that Ghana has favourable conditions to grow food crops, hence, the need for government and farmers to take advantage to produce more goods onto the market.
Added Dr. Kofi Amoah: “If you look at the list of goods that Ghana buys, you might wonder why this nation is doing this.
Although Brazil’s corn production is 14 times higher than ours, Ghana’s central area enjoys superior climate than Brazil.
Why does that matter?
It indicates that God has given you some blessings, such as excellent land, abundant rainfall and sunshine, the ability to grow maize, which is used to make flour and bread, and the ability to export all of this, as opposed to us, who import flour to make our bread.
We must reconsider.”
He said Ghana has a good climate condition to grow maize compared to other countries like Brazil where Ghana imports flour from.
According to him, it’s about time government and businesses rethink their decision of importing some basic commodities and rather invest more into the growing of agricultural produce.
Dr Kofi Amoah said, “The list of items that Ghana imports if you look at it, you ask why is this country doing this? The central region in Ghana has the best climatic conditions than Brazil but the yield in Brazil of maize is 14 times higher than ours. What does that mean? It means God has given you some gift; your land is excellent, your rainfall, your sunshine, you can grow maize that you use in making flour, and bread, you can export it all but instead of that, we are importing flour to make our bread. We need to rethink.”
“We are blessed people but if we don’t really unite our forces and start thinking properly and have a plan,” he added.
Kofi Amoah said this when he appeared on GhanaWeb’s The Lowdown programme hosted by the Editor-in-chief, Nii Akwei Ismail Akwei.

Rio Ave defeated Farense 2-1 in the Portuguese League Cup behind two goals from Ghanaian attacker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu.
In an excellent performance on Tuesday at the Estadio dos Arcos, the 24-year-old helped his team advance to the next round of the competition.
Yakubu gave Rio Ave the lead in the 30th minute of the game with a sublime finish but Farense defender Zach Muscat bagged the equaliser in the 62nd minute.
The Ghanaian converted a spot-kick in the 73rd minute to restore the lead for the home side. Rio Ave held on to seal a hard fought victory.
Yakubu lasted the entire duration of the game, while his compatriot Emmanuel Okyere Boateng was an unused substitute for Rio Ave.
He has now scored eight goals and provided three assist in 14 games for Rio Ave across all competitions this season.
He joined Rio Ave in 2021 and has since been a key cog of the team.
Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has slammed Nigerian female disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, over her engagement to Ryan Taylor who she met for just 25 days.
It was earlier reported that in November 2022, Cuppy said yes to her white boyfriend at the Gumball award night in Abu Dhabi.
In the video which made the rounds online, DJ Cuppy, who seemed surprised when her boyfriend popped the big question, said yes and followed it with a passionate kiss on stage.
Since the engagement, the billionaire DJ kept on throwing more light on her relationship.
Taking to her social media handle to give the latest update, Cuppy disclosed;
“I can officially announce that I’m engaged! Only 25 days ago during @Gumball3000 driving rally, I met the love of my life.”
Describing him as the love of her life, she noted that sometimes one falls for the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time.
But reacting to this, Uche Maduagwu faulted DJ Cuppy for accepting an engagement ring from a man she just met 25 days ago.
The actor further questioned Cuppy if her decision was out of desperation or perhaps she is in competition with her younger sister, Temi, who is engaged to Nigerian singer, Mr Eazi.
He wrote: “You suppose go church Deliverance Ma, you accept Engagement ring in just 25 days, is this Desperation or competition with your Younger sister? No wonder Ryan Dey allegedly do Collabo with Models for UK. E Dey invest your Papa money on models.”
Abdul-Aziz Yakubu, a striker from Ghana, was named Man of the Match after scoring twice for Rio Ave in their 2-1 Portuguese League Cup victory over Farense.

Love is the trap that leads to marriage and money is the glue that keeps the marriage, some might disagree but the truth remains the truth.
Many marriages are ending on the rocks because couples have been foolishly blinded by love and decided to tie the knot together not paying critical attention to the finances needed to sustain the marriage.
Society, especially our African society puts so much pressure on the youth to marry and produce children as if that were the gateway to heaven. The irony however is that most of those pushing the young ones to marry are miserable in their own marriages.
The African society is designed in such a way that people will hardly share a business opportunity with you, they will never give you opportunities that will make you financially independent and eventually make you better than them, however, they are quick to give you advice that will engineer you to partake in their own pain and misery.
Many young people have ignored this advice to their own destruction, some have even gone ahead to take huge loans to organize luxurious weddings just to please society. They organise beautiful events, paid-for magnificent decorations, and cook all kinds of assorted foods for strangers who even don’t like them.
After everyone has gone and completely forgotten about them, they spend several years trying to repay the loan they used for a one-day wedding event. They now realize the difference between wedding and marriage.
Wedding is that single day where most people make foolish expenses, marriage is the rest of the life you will be living together paying the bills and raising children.
Hear me, marriage is a purely economic decision and not an emotional decision, love alone is not enough. Children are very expensive today in the 21st century. Diapers are not cheap, school fees are not cheap, and healthcare is not cheap in fact children are very expensive and it’s not guaranteed you will get a return on your investment. With the current economic crises, prices of goods and services have increased by almost 100% with salaries remaining the same
There is a saying that love is blind but marriage will open your eyes. If you are not financially stable you might want to tread with caution. Get yourself a good job, start a business, engage in any self-development endeavour that will make you financially stable, and then you can begin to think of settling down.
Society doesn’t care about you, society will not lift a finger to help you if you are in dire need, and society will not pay your rent, your bills, or medical expenses.
Society especially the African society is only generous when you die, they will come to funeral and make generous contributions to give you a befitting burial but once you are alive you fully responsible for fighting your own battles.
If you decide to marry, choose someone you think you can build a decent life with, who can support your business or your career objectives, and who can help you move from point A to point B. Choose a partner who you know is determined to strive for a brighter future.
Love is not enough, physical attributes like beauty, shape, hips, and breast will only begin to annoy you when the realities of marriage start to hit you right in the face. And then you will realize that the very society you tried to please doesn’t give a shit about you.
Marriage is a serious business; marriage is a purely financial decision and not an emotional decision. Love is blind but marriage will open your eyes. Choose carefully.
It appears Elon Musk, the self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist,” has suspended an account that monitors his private jet.
CNBC reports @ElonJet was removed from the platform on Wednesday morning, just days after its owner, 20-year-old college student Jack Sweeney, claimed the account had been limited and restricted. Sweeney reportedly created the account in summer 2020, using publicly available, open-source data to track the billionaire tech mogul’s aircraft usage. He’s also the man behind @CelebJets, which uses the same sources to monitor the private jets of Drake, Mark Cuban, Jeff Bezos, Taylor Swift, and other stars.
Sweeney tweeted from his personal account Wednesday, “Well it appears @ElonJet is suspended. … This is coordinated and Elon is well aware I’m sure.”
About a week after acquiring Twitter for $44 billion, Muskinsisted he had no intention of removing Sweeney’s account from the platform.
“My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane,” he tweeted on Nov. 7, “even though that is a direct personal safety risk.”
As of Wednesday night, all of Sweeney’s accounts—including his personal one—had been suspended from Twitter. Musk explained the decision shortly after, saying: “Real-time posting of someone else’s location violates doxxing policy, but delayed posting of locations are ok.”
Sweeney, a sophomore at the University of Central Florida, expressed skepticism over the explanation, and said the move conflicted with Musk’s so-called commitment to free speech.
“If that was true, then it would have been suspended a month ago,” he told the Daily Beast. “They can bend the rules how they want to bend the rules for certain people. … [In] a town square, there’s, like, police, but you’re allowed to protest. But here…he’s literally just disabled the account.”
In early 2022, Protocol reported that Musk had offered Sweeney $5,000 to remove @ElonJet because of security concerns. The then-19-year-old claimed he rejected the offer, but said he would delete the account in exchange for an internship. Musk reportedly blocked him shortly after.
Sweeney said he will continue to monitor Musk’s private jet and post the data on the social networking service Mastodon.
The Twitter Safety account shared tweets on the matter on Wednesday as well:
A portion of the remarks reads, “When someone shares an individual’s live location on Twitter, there is an increased risk of physical harm. Moving forward, we’ll remove Tweets that share this information, and accounts dedicated to sharing someone else’s live location will be suspended.”

A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murderafter allegedly killing his Uber driver in a hotel parking lot in the Harvey area of Louisiana.
According to a report from regional outlet WWL-TV, the Uber driver in question has been identified as 54-year-old Yolanda Dillion, who also worked as a budget analyst for the New Orleans Police Department. The suspect, identified as Brandon Jacobs, is alleged to have fatally stabbed Dillion following a ride from New Orleans to a hotel in Harvey. He’s also alleged to have shared footage of the aftermath of the fatal stabbing to Facebook.
Per online arrest records, Jacobs was arrested on Dec. 8 on a charge of second-degree murder. In a statement, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said that deputies had initially been called to the scene at around 3:00 p.m. local time. When they arrived, deputies found Dillion inside her car, at which point she was taken to a nearby hospital and later died.
“Our investigation has shown that the victim was an Uber driver providing a ride to Jacobs from a location in New Orleans to the hotel,” the department said over the weekend. “When the ride ended, Jacobs stabbed her repeatedly before leaving the vehicle. Jacobs was later apprehended at the hotel. After his arrest, Jacobs was interviewed by our investigators. He admitted to stabbing the victim at the end of the ride. He told detectives that he selected the victim at random because he wanted to kill someone.”
When reached for comment by Complex on Monday, a rep for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office pointed to the aforementioned social media-shared statement on the arrest. Complex has also reached out to the New Orleans Police Department for additional comment. This story may be updated.
Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has urged the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to appoint Chris Hughton as the next Black Stars coach, adding that they must ensure he stays in the country.
The Black Stars are currently without a coach after Otto Addo stepped down from his role following Ghana’s early exit from the Mundial in Qatar.
Hughton, who served as Ghana’s technical advisor during Addo’s tenure, has been mooted as a possible replacement.
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe is backing the former Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest manager to become Ghana’s next head coach.
The veteran football administrator believes Hughton has what it takes to bring success to the Ghana national team but must stay in Ghana if he lands the job.
”I think Chris Hughton will be the right person because of his background. He has the African background; secondly, he is a coach with experience and also has had the opportunity to know these boys,” the former GFA chairman told the Graphic Sport.
“If Chris Hughton is given the job, then he should come and stay in Ghana and form his local Black Stars to ensure that the nucleus of the team should come from them. He should be able to create and also train strikers for the Black Stars.”
Hughton previously served under different managers at Tottenham and combined his role with being an assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland.
He has also worked at Newcastle United, Norwich and Brighton as head coach
Popular media personality, Abeiku Santana, has asked the appropriate authorities to investigate and arrest persons and institutions who are still charging exorbitant prices for goods and services despite the decline in the value of the US dollar in the country.
As of Tuesday, December 13, 2022, the US dollar experienced a gradual drop in value, thereby, trading against the cedi at a buying price of 11.4943 and a selling price of 11.5058.
The dollar was initially selling at GHC14.000, weeks ago.
Following the development, citizens have expected to witness the reflection of the decline in the US currency in market prices that were initially affected by its rise.
However, it has been reported that prices have remained stagnant inspite of the development.
This has become a major concern for scores of netizens including Abeiku Santana who has called for the appropriate outfit to look into the issue.
“I’m pleading with the Bulk Oil Distributors. The dollar’s value has declined so pls reduce the prices of your fuel. Oil marketing companies should also reduce their prices. Just as the dollar is declining everyday, you need to also reduce your prices everyday. Drivers and transport operators who have increased their prices, now the dollar is going down, its time to cut down your prices. The police also need to start arresting those who are still charging outrageous prices.”
“The worse of all is the fact that at the Ports and Harbours, the exchange rate is still GHC15.000 or sometimes GHC14.00 against the dollar despite the decline in the US currency,” Abeiku Santana added.

The beloved “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” DJ, 40, was found dead by a hotel maid inside the Oak Tree Inn in Encino, Calif., Tuesday after he missed his check-out.
An autopsy was subsequently conducted by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner and Boss’ body is now ready to be released to his wife, Allison Holker, 34, according to RadarOnline.com.
The Post has reached out to the medical examiner’s office for confirmation.
A heartbroken Holker released a statement to The Post earlier Wednesday, confirming her husband’s death, saying: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.
“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into,” the statement continued. “He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

Boss was best known as the DJ on DeGeneres’ eponymous daytime series, which he joined in 2014.
He was elevated to executive producer in 2020 and stayed with DeGeneres until the finale of her show in 2022.
The talk show host opened up about the death of her friend Wednesday afternoon in a statement received by The Post.
“I’m heartbroken,” the 64-year-old declared. “tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children — Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”
Boss got his start as a contestant on MTV’s “The Wade Robson Project” in 2003 and rose to household name fame on “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2008. He joined DeGeneres’ show six years later.
Boss and Holker, who is also a professional dancer, have been the hosts of “Disney’s Fairytale Weddings” on Disney+ since 2018.
The couple married Dec. 10, 2013, and just celebrated their ninth anniversary.
“It’s our 9th anniversary!! I couldn’t be more grateful to celebrate this perfect magical day!!!” Holker posted to Instagram Saturday.
“Saying YES to @sir_twitch_alot has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life!! I feel so blessed and loved!! I love you baby and I will never take you or OUR love for granted! I LOVE YOU.”
Liberia’s largest prison, the Monrovia Central Prison, has begun turning away new inmates due to overcrowding and fears of disease outbreak, the justice ministry and prison officials have said.
Justice Minister Frank Musa Dean told the BBC that those being denied admission at the facility were inmates accused of minor offences.
“Where no damage was done or nobody was wounded, people arrested on minor charges are to instead be returned to communities and kept under the watch of community leaders,” Mr Deansaid.
It follows local media reports that prison guards were refusing to admit new inmates as part of an ongoing strike over a delay of salaries. Prison officials have denied the claim.
The prison was built to hold around 300 inmates when the population of Monrovia was about 300,000. It now holds over 1,600 inmates in a city of about 1.5 million people.
Inmates at the facility include convicted murderers and armed robbers.
“Of course when there is an increase in population, correspondingly there’s an increase in crime rate,” Mr Dean said. “And there’s a challenge.”
Engineers from the ministry of public works are working on a blueprint to construct additional wings of the prison that will take up to 1,000 inmates, according to the justice minister.
National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has dismissed claims that he has six land cruiser.
According to him, he has only one of such vehicles he received as a gift due to his affiliation with former President John Dramani Mahama.
The National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has hinted that he got his land cruiser vehicle as a gift.
According to him, he has only one Land Cruiser which was given to him because of the love his benefactor has for former President John Mahama.
His comments follow the allegations made by some critics, including George Opare Addo, the newly elected National Youth Organiser, that he has numerous vehicles, including six land cruisers and a house at Airport Hills.
The critics asked him to disclose his source of wealth.
Speaking on Accra-based Onua TV on Wednesday morning, he said, “they said I have six Land Cruisers but I have only one and even that one someone gave it to me out of the love he has for Mahama.”
He, however, accepted the claims that he is wealthy and asked God to make it come to pass.
“I’m not the owner of those houses trending on social media. But in fact, the houses I am going to build will be five times better than those.”
It would be recalled that the newly re-elected National Youth Organizer of the NDC, George Opare Addo openly asked Sammy Gyamfi to explain his source of wealth.
According to him, he considered the contest between he and Brogya Genfi as being against “that Airport Hills small boy” Sammy Gyamfi.
However, the National Communication Officer has denied all the allegations.
The Council of Elders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the incidents of violence that occurred during the election of the party’s National Youth and Women’s Organiser last Saturday at Cape Coast.
Four persons sustained injuries during the conference with 16 persons being arrested by the Police for their involvement in the scuffle.
In a statement on December 14, the party’s Council of Elders demanded a full report on the violence which marred the conference.
It said persons found to have breached the party’s rules whether elected or not will face disciplinary action.
“In this regard, the Council has called for a full report of the incidents and any member(s), whether elected or not, found culpable in the breach of the rules prescribed by the Congress Planning Committee or complicit in any of the incidence will take serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Party’s code of discipline.
“The Congress Planning Committee should have no hesitation in removing any person(s) whose behavior is not conducive to the orderly conduct of the Congress,” the statement said.
The party urged strict observance of the rules announced by the Congress Planning Committee to avoid the recurrence of violent events and to ensure a peaceful outcome of Saturday’s Congress.
The Council of Elders expressed worry over the current internal wrangling in the party ahead of the national congress.
It cautioned contestants that the “Council wishes to remind all contestants that acting contrary to laid down rules and regulations will carry severe sanctions including disqualification of any contestant.”
“All contestants are reminded that the party stands supreme and this will not be sacrificed for the personal interest of any contestant, delegate or party member.”
The Sissala West District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has appealed for temporary shelter and food for the migrants currently in some communities within the district.
Mr Yahaya Alidu said it would help prevent the refugees from mingling with the communities for easier identification and to prevent possible transmission of diseases they might have carried into the country.
Mr Alidu said this when the Sissala West District Assembly distributed assorted items including bags of maize, mats, and money to enable them to fend for themselves and their children.
He also appealed for support in any form such as tents, food, and clothes to help them keep the migrants from staying with the locals for easier access and monitoring.
Presenting the items to the migrants in Wiiro, Nemoro, and Fielmuoh, Madam Ayisha Batong Hor, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said it was to help them with their upkeep while in Ghana.
In an engagement with the Chiefs and Elders of the communities after the presentation, the DCE reminded the community members of the “See Something, Say Something” slogan geared towards raising public awareness of the indicators of terrorism.
Madam Hor also encouraged the people to call the toll-free line 999 to report suspicious characters, activities, or behaviour of people to security for swift intervention.
She hinted at the Assembly’s intention of working with the relevant state agencies for the creation of a refugee camp, where possible.
The DCE said, “I expect you (the migrants) to conduct yourselves well within the country’s laws and do what is acceptable in Ghana to make your stay in Ghana comfortable.”
The Chiefs of the affected communities expressed gratitude for the gesture and the prompt response as the donations would go a long way to augment their efforts.
The donation was part of efforts of the Assembly to offer some relief to the refugees, who fled Burkina Faso a week ago to some parts of the Sissala West District for fear of terrorist attack.
Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, is optimistic of the NDC‘s win in the upcoming 2024 elections.
He says nothing will stand in the way of the National Democratic Congress winning election 2024.
According to him, concerns about utterances made by the General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, having the potential to derail the ‘winning’ tangent of the party are unfounded.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who is contesting against the incumbent NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, in a leaked audio tape, accused the Chairman of failing to supply the NDC’s legal team in the 2020 election petition relevant data to challenge the outcome of the elections.
He said this was why the NDC could not sufficiently support their claims during the trial.
Reacting to the leaked audio, Inusah Fuseini stated that the General Secretary’s communication was not intended for general consumption, and that he was only giving an explanation of what had happened.
He noted that while the revelation may have ruffled some feathers within the party, it is not enough to derail the party’s progress.
“What he was seeking to do was probably explain to the party delegates why we are where we are; why we could not win the elections; why our case was not made up very well in court. And so the fact that it leaked is very very unfortunate.
“But Asiedu Nketia ought to have known that it will leak because in campaigning for a position in the party or government or to lead the country, people deliberately, intentionally plant others to be able to see what their opponent is doing, so he ought or our leaders ought to be circumspect,” he said.
Inusah Fusieni added that “as a party we had always known that these two giants if they contest each other we’ll definitely have fallouts, and so that is why there was an initial attempt to try and see whether they would be reconciled.
“Chairman Ampofo spoke about what the team achieved during their term in office, that team included the General Secretary of the party who is now contesting him for the chairmanship. So there’s no doubt that that team also has some few weaknesses.”
He said with the two giants going against each other, party delegates will be forced to critically anlayse the strengths and weaknesses of both parties in order to make a decision.
“Aisha, you should be reminded that four people are contesting for the chairmanship position. But why are we narrowing it down to two? Because, one, those two persons are giants in the party and they all have something to contribute towards the success of the party, and nobody wants to lose either of them.
“But only one person can become chairman, so as a delegate you have to look at them individually, look at their strengths and weaknesses and see whether in the present state of the party who will be better positioned to lead us to the Promised Land,” he said.
NDC delegates who will be going to the polls on Saturday, December 17, 2022, may have a difficult time choosing between the two contenders of the NationalChairmanship position (i.e incumbent General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and incumbent chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.)
This is because, according to Political Scientist, Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante, both candidates are ‘worthy materials’ for the post and have proven themselves over the years.
“They’ve all excelled throughout their years in the party as partyfaithful, and they’ve worked very hard to bring the party to where it is,” he said.
According to him, their immense contribution towards the growth and development of the party cannot be shoved under the carpet, and thus described them as stalwarts of the party.
He, however, expressed concern that the recent bickering between the two in the run up to the NDC’s National Delegates Conference may dent the image they have built for themselves through their works.
He explained that while it is normal for there to be disagreements within party executives, he was not expecting the said disagreement to spill out into the open instead of being addressed internally.
“I expected that whatever differences there are between them, they must do well to ameliorate the situation by talking to their supporters and making sure that the only way that they can win power is through the message that they churn out that will resonate with those who are going to elect them.
“And that they will have strategy that will be in tune with the legal processes that the party has put in place and of course they will be able to come out with manifestoes that will address the lingering challenges within this country in general and then the specific interest of the party, and of course, their followers and all that.
“Once they get these things right in place, their home will stay dry. So the bickering, the rancor, the attacks on each other to the best of my knowledge, it doesn’t bode well for them at all, and that I expect them to talk to their supporters and then go to the elections and then let us have genuine contest,” he said.
Meanwhile the Political Scientist has bemoaned the violence that characterized the first part of the National Delegates’ Conference in Cape Coast.
Dr. Asah-Asante stressed that it does not augur well for the image of the party as a democratic institution.
He called for the party’s leadership to address any challenges within the party to prevent a repeat of Saturday’s incident at the final National Delegates’ Conference.
“So I will urge the NDC leadership to sit down, plan properly and make sure that the big task ahead which is the Saturday one will be incident free. This also goes to the party faithful that you can’t claim to be supporting a party and at the same time taking certain decisions or actions that undermine the entire process that your party is putting in place.
“I think the party’s interest is bigger than any other interest, so if there are difficulties, there are challenges, I will urge people to use the internal structures within to be able to address their concerns and then forge ahead to make sure that their party wins power,” he said.
Ahead of the second phase of the NDC’s National Delegates Congress, the Chairman of the party, National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has indicated that he is unfazed about the falsehood his naysayers are peddling against him in order to dent his reputation.
He said his main focus will be his campaign and not on these critics since responding to them will only derail his campaign.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo is for the second time contesting as the National Chairman for the party. According to him, he would rather concentrate on his campaign activities by reminding delegates of his achievements and sharing his aspirations for the party with them.
Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, he noted that his achievements in office can speak for themselves, hence there is no need going on a rebuttal spree.
“I don’t want to react to anybody. I want to concentrate on the campaign that I’m doing. I have been the national chairman for the past four years. When I took over the party, the NDChad lost elections in 2016 by nearly one million margin and we’ve lost about 53 seats in Parliament. The 4 years that was given to me and my team to lead the party, we managed in the 2020 elections to appreciate our votes from about 4.4million to almost 6.3million.
“We managed to increase our parliamentary seats from 106 to 137, and for the first time in the history of our fourth republican dispensation, the NDC as an opposition party has been able to produce a Speaker of Parliament; this is unprecedented.
“And if this is an indication of the fact that I haven’t done anything, then I will say to the contrary that myself and the team that were elected into office have provided the strategic leadership that has repositioned the NDC party, rebranded the NDC party, made the party more attractive and almost made the party a party of choice as we go into the 2024 elections.
“And for me, I think it is something that all of us must be proud of. This is a record that we have made for ourselves,” he told host, Aisha Ibrahim.
He admits that while his chief objective as Chairman of the Party i.e. to win the 2020 elections, were not realized, he is hopeful that when given the mandate, he will build on his previous gains to secure a “convincing victory” in 2024.
“My objective when I took over the party as its chairman and subsequently as the leader of the party was to lead the party to form government. And so what I’ve not been able to achieve under the four years was the fact that we could not form a government even though we believe that we never lost the 2020 elections.
“So going forward, my objective is to put the pieces together, is to sharpen the rough edges and ensure that going into 2024 elections, our aim will be nothing short of a victory, a convincing victory that will enable us to form the next government and manage to put our policies and programmes in place in order to reverse the deteriorating situation that we find ourselves in as a nation,” he said.
