  • I broke down after old tweets resurfaced – KiDi

Musician KiDi has revealed that he felt embarrassed, sad and defeated after people began pulling out his “inappropriate” old tweets.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz Fm, the ‘Touch It’ hitmaker said that prior to the incident on Wednesday evening, he was not in a good mental state when he was hit with the tweets and criticisms that followed.

“So I was already dealing with a lot…I didn’t even have time to breathe and reset…I remember when it happened I was having my EP listening session. I actually had to leave in the middle of it,” he told Andy Dosty.

KiDi added that “I broke down in the middle of people, it was just a lot for me, so I had to leave and go home. I felt really embarrassed about all of it,” he added.

The ‘Gyal Dem Sugar’ hitmaker added that although there is no excuse for his previous tweets some of them took him by surprise because he could not remember writing them.

This comes after his old tweets – which resurfaced on Wednesday – saw him swipe at former Presidents John Mahama, John Agyekum Kufour and President Akufo-Addo.

He also openly talked about his “relationship” with TV show host Anita Akuffo back in primary school and many others that people find offensive.

He also made comments about TV presenter Delay, actors John Dumelo, Yvonne Nelson and Jackie Appiah.

KiDi apologised to the public admitting that at the time he was not only young but ignorant and did not understand the repercussions of his words and actions.

“I tweeted things that were inappropriate and unkind. As I mature, I came to be extremely regretful of these actions and how they affected the parties involved,” the ‘Gyal Dem Sugar’ hitmaker wrote.

Opening up on how he has grown to be a much better person KiDi said that “a lot of the things and values we hold now, we had to go through certain things in life to arrive at this place that we are, we had to unlearn a lot of things we grew up with and relearn certain things to also know that this is not okay.”

The singer added that he hopes the celebrities whom he wrote about would understand his old tweets do not represent who he is today as a person.

“I am guessing and hoping that they know that this was a young foolish boy. I wasn’t even KiDi was Nana Dwamena who just had a phone and was misbehaving so I am hoping they can see through all of that and know that I wasn’t the person I was at the time,” he said.

KiDi added that “you live, we make the mistakes, we learn through them and through learning, we become better people.”

  • 13 reasons a married woman feels attracted to a younger man

We’ve all heard of the word “cougar” being used negatively to describe married older women who develop a liking toward younger men. I’ve never understood why this label is so guilt-inducing. Is it because it isn’t righteous for a married woman to feel attracted to a younger man? Or are we just too orthodox to accept women exploring their sexuality?

Whatever the reason, we are nobody to judge yet sexist terms like “sugar mama” and “cougar” are casually thrown around. A more couth term for such relationships is “May-December Romance”. The judgment notwithstanding, these relationships are becoming commonplace. According to a survey, 34% of women over the age of 40 were dating younger men.

However, it is also true that they continue to face societal contempt when age shouldn’t be a problem because no one other than the two people in a relationship really knows what works for them. We know age-gap relationships, even the ones where one partner is married, are no secret. Our objective here is to address another question altogether: why do older women like younger men? Let’s find out.

Married older women dating younger men is not unheard of. It’s frowned upon but we have seen it more often than we would like to openly discuss. This can happen for a host of reasons, ranging from lack of fulfillment in the primary relationship to a need to relive the optimism and positivity of one’s youth through a younger paramour.

What about the younger man in such an equation? What draws him to an older, married woman? Responding to this question, a Reddit user says, “I’m currently in a situation where I am sleeping with a woman who is 8 years older than me. Apart from the fact that she is very attractive and still pretty young (32), things are simple and straightforward; no drama. She also has a daughter. She tells you what she wants, you tell her what she wants, no immature games.”

When a married woman stares at you, it could be thrilling and enticing. You start looking for signs a married woman wants you to make a move over text or in person. Before you do that, you may want to know why she is drawn to you. Here are some reasons:

    1. Boredom in her marriage

One of the main reasons why an older woman could be inclined toward a younger man is that she finds him exciting. She is probably bored of her husband and there are chances her marriage could be in a rut. There are many reasons why husbands lose interest in their wives. Her husband may not be interested in spending quality time with her, taking her out on date nights, or being affectionate toward her. The lack of spark in her marriage could be the reason why she is attracted to you.

    2. Younger men are physically fit

No beer belly, no saggy chest, and no wrinkles – the physique of a younger man could be attractive to an older woman. When a married woman stares at younger men, it could be because she is attracted to their physical fitness. Perhaps, she has been married for a long time and doesn’t find her spouse attractive anymore. This can work both ways. Older men date younger women because they find them more attractive than women their age.

    3. Her spouse isn’t treating her right

Women love nothing more than to be treated with respect. Maybe there is a lack of respect in the relationship. If you treat her with respect, she may begin to warm up to you and may even take the initiative to ask you out. Making the first move is one of the most common signs an older woman likes a younger man.

Ameilia, a woman in her early 40s from Seattle, says, “My husband and I have been married for almost 12 years now. We were madly in love when we got married. But things started fizzling out and now we barely even speak to each other.

“I started dating this young guy I met at my friend’s birthday party. It wasn’t just about sex. I had forgotten what it felt like to be seen and truly admired. I was judged for being predatory and creepy for liking ‘young boys’. These were the exact words my in-laws used when they found out about the affair.”

    4. She wants to try new things

When two people have been married for a long time, chances are their sex life becomes boring and unpredictable. Sex becomes a chore and not an intimate act that two people enjoy and derive pleasure from. Often, older women feel attracted to younger men because they see in them a potential mate who can give them the pleasure they want, try exciting things in bed, and fulfill their desires. Or maybe the married woman is separated from her husband and wants to spice up her sex life.

Speaking of the reason behind older women liking younger men, a Reddit user replied, “When I was 26-27, I dated two different 18-year-olds (each of them for a few weeks). So, about a 9-year age gap. The sex was really hot. I love how insatiable younger guys are.”

    5. She wants to feel young and have fun

Older women who date younger men are often fascinated by the latter’s choices and lifestyle. They feel that a young man would revive their sense of adventure and make them revisit their youth. They are open to new experiences with a younger partner because they are exhausted by the predictability of their married life.

A Reddit user shares why dating a younger guy made them feel young, “I dated a 22-year-old when I was 32. I knew it was sort of a “summer project” going into it, no real prospect for a long-term relationship so that really took the pressure off. We had FUN. He was up for almost anything and was excited about almost everything. I knew if I asked him to go to a concert or a party or even just out for lunch, he was going to say yes and he was going to see it as an adventure.

“Guys I had dated before were always laid back and cynical and afraid to be excited about anything. The young guy was super-hot and demonstrative in public, which made me feel sexy and desired.”

    6. She is finally getting the validation she deserves

Validation in a relationship is when one partner understands and accepts the other person’s emotions, problems, and concerns. It’s one of the elements of developing respect in a marriage. It’s about how you genuinely care for your partner and try to comprehend and acknowledge their troubles. When an older woman doesn’t get this validation in her primary relationship, she might look for it in a younger partner.

    7. The younger man isn’t dependent on her

Most older women are financially independent. They know basic life skills and can survive without anyone’s help. However, that’s not the case in older men. A report by McKinsey Global Institute found that 75% of unpaid care work, which includes cooking, cleaning, washing, and caring for children and the elderly, is done by women.

They are confident, have stable careers, and are self-assured. When she starts dating a younger guy, there is no need for her to look after him as she does for her husband. Maybe that’s what she wants. A fun and exciting connection with someone sans the baggage of responsibilities.

    8. There are no strings attached

Older women date younger men because they like the idea of having a companion without any commitment. It’s a no strings attached relationship where they meet, have fun, talk their hearts out, and go back to their respective lives.

James, a 24-year-old software engineer, says, “A married woman likes me but avoids me when I bring up the subject of commitment. It started as casual hookups but I’ve grown to really like her. I recently confessed the idea of being in an exclusive relationship but she ignored the topic.”

    9. She likes the attention he showers her with

Married men tend to take their wives for granted. They are always on their phone even when they aren’t working or when their wives are trying to have a conversation with them. Women want nothing more than attention and appreciation in a relationship. An older woman may fall for a younger man who gives her the attention she wants.

    10. It boosts her ego

The attention of a young man could boost their confidence and ego. Feeling desired after a very long time could make her feel young and happy. This is one of the benefits of extramarital affairs. Georgina, a woman in her early 40s says, “As an older woman attracted to a younger guy who is in his 20s, I can say that young guys are sweeter in general.

“He has no tantrums. He doesn’t care about how much I earn or what I can bring to the table in this dynamic. Everything is so spontaneous. He is more respectful than both my husbands have ever been and his desire for me really boosts my confidence.”

    11. Younger men are more fertile and she wants to get pregnant

A study that analyzed 631 women aged between 40 and 46 and their partners whose ages ranged between 25 and 70 found that older women who are trying to conceive should seek younger men.

Biological clock ticks for both men and women. So, if a woman is recently divorced, lonely after a divorce, or separated from her husband and wants to get pregnant, she may turn toward a younger man, who is more fertile than any prospect her age or older.

    12. She likes the thrill of dating young boys

If she has been settled and living comfortably for a long time, the idea of dating someone new, especially someone younger than her, can be tempting. A Reddit user shared, “I do like admiring attractive young men from a distance, yes, because the idea of being with them is thrilling. But I wouldn’t consider being in a relationship with one.”

    13. She is genuinely in love with him

Has age got to do anything with love? Certainly not. If you’re mature enough to be in a relationship with an older woman and know how to treat her right, she may have genuinely fallen for you.

A woman on Reddit shares about dating a younger man. The user says, “My boyfriend and I started dating when my ex-husband and I were on the brink of getting a divorce. Women sure are judged more for dating younger guys. I refuse to explain us beyond saying I feel like we are a sexy inter-generational change that the world needs to see.”

We really need to get out of this negative stigma around older women dating younger men. If you both are on the same level of maturity, trust, and respect for each other, then nothing should stop you from being together.

Can an older woman-younger man relationship work?

When asked on Reddit if such relationships can work, a user replied, “I (27M) just had one of the best weekends of my life with my partner (48F). We even had dinner with her son (23M). I feel like we’re only growing closer every day I get to spend with her. We have been together for around 8 months and I say she’s the only good thing to happen this year.”

Older women are more self-assured and confident. These are some female features that attract a man immensely. Even if such a relationship may begin for the thrill and excitement of it all, it can turn into something meaningful and long-term, if the couple establishes ground rules and boundaries from the get-go.

There is no reason for such relationships to not work. Any relationship, irrespective of age and sexual preference has its own set of challenges and hurdles. The relationship between married older women and younger men is no different. The age gap doesn’t matter when you’re in love.

    Key Pointers

    • Older women attracted to younger men want to experience the thrill of dating someone much younger than them
    • It boosts their confidence and ego
    • An older woman attracted to a younger man wants to revive her sex life

If a married woman smiles at you, it doesn’t really mean that she wants to have sex with you. It could also mean that she wants to have a meaningful connection. Just because a person is getting older, doesn’t mean they don’t have the desire to be understood and loved. People don’t fall in love after carefully analyzing their age and gender. Love just happens. No reason whatsoever.

  • Anny Osabutey: BHM Construction and Ningo-Prampram’s monstrous traffic

    Dear BHM CONSTRUCTION,

I bring you greetings for and on behalf of residents and other road users within the Ningo Prampram district, where your company BHM Construction is currently undertaking the road construction.

I live in Prampram, for starters. Whilst we appreciate the works going on, it is deeply regrettable that the same construction has created monstrous traffic which is solvable but, from where some of us sit, your outfit does not seem to care. I may be wrong but the current situation points to that.

As residents in the area, we knew the construction of a major route will impact the traffic flow, something which we were willing to bear and corporate with. However, the current traffic situation is not what we bargained for; but can be resolved by addressing the pothole challenges in the following areas: Kpone barrier, Dawhenya, Prampram and Savannah junctions.

Apart from Dawhenya, the others have potholes on them which slow the movement of vehicles and spill over, causing needless chaos. Today, for example, MTTD officers and frustrated motorists verbally abused each other in public. I personally do not remember ever seeing something like this; it was embarrassing and depressingly sad and unfortunate.

Imagine a frustrated parent with kids in the car, mostly teenagers and infants, yelling abuse at an officer in public. And imagine an officer who had just left home and told his partner and children he was going to work, to be confronted with this morning heat? Only the gods know what would have happened if the stand-off had gone beyond the verbal exchanges.

We deserve far better than how we are being treated on that stretch.  And to think that this is an important road that is important to sub-regional trade.  What is happening on the stretch is CRIMINAL and unacceptable.

Imagine conveying a sick person to a hospital in such a congested situation. I am not an engineer but I strongly believe an asphalt overlay will help resolve part of the problem. Again, for construction of this magnitude, it is depressing to think your outfit did not only provide alternative routes that could help ease the pressure off the main road.

There are more than enough routes that residents can easily use without getting onto the main road, but they remain unmotorable. Those who are brave enough to use those routes with their cars, end up paying a hefty price from their pockets.

Like I said in my introduction, I live in Prampram and the ONLY access route out of the town is through the Prampram junction to the main road. The moment that place is choked with traffic, it means I am trapped and cannot do anything about it.

However, a still bridge across the lagoon dividing Kpone-Dawhenya and Prampram can easily solve the problem. I have spoken to a good number of residents and even visitors to the town, who have expressed willingness to pay a fee which can be used to maintain it.

I am not well travelled but in the very little I have seen in other countries, they put bridges across bigger rivers/seas to enable residents to crisscross without challenges. There are several such bridges in the UK, USA and more, where, I want to believe, BHM Construction has undertaken similar works there.

I doubt in any of those countries where you have operations going on or operate from, motorists will spend productive hours in a solvable traffic situation without your outfit not hearing from their lawyers. I believe you would have sensitized the public as well as informed them about alternative routes to use, but here in Ghana, the land of our birth, we do not even register in such standard considerations.

It is not too late for your men to look at suggestions. BHM Construction has a reputation for putting the public’s interest first, according to your own Managing Director Phil Atkinson. So, why are ours different? I am not sure the said “public interest” Mr Atikinson talked about included the current predicament on the road.

Why are road users being punished for this construction? Imagine setting off at 5 am with kids in the car, trying to beat the traffic but you get there and it has already built up? I do not wish to believe our frustration has not come to your attention.

This laudable construction should not drive us into a system of insanity.  We are already stressed and the least BHM Construction can do is not to inflict more misery on us.

We are ready to corporate and collaborate with you, but not in the present situation.

    Sincerely yours.

    Anny Osabutey

For and on behalf of other sufferers.

  • Should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with – The pros and the cons

Should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with? What a predicament! Simply finding a yes/no answer to this can cost you many a night of sleep. But we can understand why this insane urge to meet this mystery person is so real. Your spouse has chosen them over you – if that’s not blasphemy, we don’t know what is! What could they possibly offer your spouse that was missing in your marriage?

Now your imagination is running amok – Is she prettier than me? Is he really that good in bed? You feel like you’re losing your mind in dealing with the worst-case scenarios and the insecurities stemming from them. Yes, meeting this person can help you confirm some of these assumptions. But will it add any value to your healing process? We don’t want you to do anything impulsive that you may regret later.

So, should you confront your husband’s lover or the man who slept with your wife? Let’s figure that out with insights from clinical psychologist Devaleena Ghosh (M.Res, Manchester University), founder of Kornash: The Lifestyle Management School, who specializes in couples counseling and family therapy.

Vanessa, our reader from Arizona, is grappling with a similar dilemma. “Even though my husband assured me that his affair was over, neither his eyes nor his actions reassured me that was the case. There was something shady about his behavior, which made me think, Should I confront the woman my husband cheated with? Eventually, I confronted the other woman. Learning so many insulting things he told her about me and the fact that the affair was still on simply shattered me.”

Michael, a nurse practitioner from Calgary, on the other hand, was a bit skeptical about meeting his wife’s lover. He says, “My wife cheated on me and I can’t stop thinking about it but I am not sure if I can deal with coming face to face with him. After all, what to say to the man who slept with your wife?” After a tug of war over whether to meet or not to meet, Michael finally called that man. And he said that he had no idea about his lover being married. He didn’t intend to become the third wheel in a marriage; he apologized and ended things with her, for good.

I guess you comprehend from these narratives that there is no easy way to answer the question – should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with? That meeting can be extremely enlightening or it can further break your heart into pieces. If you are adamant about confronting the other man/woman, be sure of your motives first. What are you expecting to hear? Are you ready to digest the minute details of your spouse’s romantic affair?

Because a meeting between the cheated spouse and the affair buddy is not exactly about exchanging pleasantries. Then should you confront your husband’s lover (or wife’s)? That depends on you and a few other factors:

    • Is the affair partner your acquaintance?
    • Is the affair over or still on?
    • Do you believe your spouse is lying to you about ending the affair?
    • Do you want to meet them alone or along with your spouse?
    • Are you trying to rebuild your marriage after cheating or you have decided to move on?

Devaleena says, “There can’t be a straightforward yes/no answer to this. It depends on an individual’s situation, their relationship with their spouse, and the nature of the affair to some extent. Some people can’t deal with this mystery. They tend to ponder over imaginary situations.

“So, they end up connecting to their spouse’s lover looking for clarity. In all likelihood, such a meeting does more damage than helping the cheated partner cope with this breach of trust. Plus, it can make it harder to rebuild and restore the relationship.”

Pros Of Talking To The Person Your Spouse Cheated With

When you discover the one person you trusted the most is taking advantage of your blind faith and having an affair under your nose, your world falls apart. You almost lose your sense of right and wrong and are consumed by intense hurt and betrayal. You want nothing more than to see the affair end. And your head is probably bursting with negative thoughts like “What if the other woman keeps contacting my husband behind my back?” or, “I want to hurt the man who slept with my wife”.

As much as we sympathize with you, we’d still advise you against acting on impulse. Before you give into the temptation of a cathartic confrontation, ask yourself, should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with? What good can come out of it? Addressing these questions, Devaleena says, “You would know exactly where your spouse stands in the relationship right now – whether they are still in touch or it’s over once and for all.

“You can make sure your spouse is not keeping you in the dark about anything. You learn facts when you hear both sides of the story. And the only positive side of the meeting is that it will help you decide how you want to navigate the marriage from this point forward.” Based on Devaleena’s observation, we have drafted a pros list to solve your dilemma of “Should I confront the woman my husband cheated with?” or “Should I talk to the man my wife had an affair with?”

    1. You learn about the nature of the affair

Daniel, a 32-year-old sales rep from Ohio, wrote to us, “My wife cheated on me and I can’t stop thinking about it. I was not sure if I should go behind her back and meet this man. There was just one thought in my head: I want to hurt the man who slept with my wife. I contacted him anyway and got to know about some information I was unaware of. I had no idea my wife was unhappy in the marriage!”

Contrary to Daniel’s motive behind a showdown with his wife’s affair partner, the conversation helped him see the underlying issues in his marriage and opened a channel of communication with his wife. You could also find out why the affair started in the first place, the span and current status of the affair, if it was purely physical or there was an emotional connection, and so on. While this information may not be very beneficial for the healing process, at least it puts an end to your limitless assumptions and helps you think rationally.

other woman keeps contacting my husband
You learn more about the affair by confronting the other woman

    2. You get to hear a different point of view

In the version of Blair’s husband, he tried his best to resist but he was persistently tempted by the other woman until she trapped him in this affair. Blair says, “When my husband’s infidelity came to light, something about his version of the events wasn’t sitting right with me. I wanted to talk to the other woman but had my apprehensions. Should you confront your husband’s lover? I wrestled with this question for a long time. But the other woman kept contacting my husband and I couldn’t believe a word coming out of his mouth. So, I decided to face her, and hearing her side of the story left me utterly dismayed.”

As it turned out, the woman got pregnant and Blair’s husband refused to take any responsibility and simply cut her off. You know, every cloud has a silver lining. And this fresh turn of events made it real easy for Blair to decide the future of her marriage. Confronting the person your spouse is cheating with is not exactly a walk in the park. But the clarity you get about the whole scenario can be worth it.

    3. They might apologize

Let’s take a peek at what’s going on in the lover’s mind for a second: “His wife contacted me/her husband contacted me. I am about to get an earful in the meeting. What if they create a scene? Perhaps I should say sorry and calm him/her down for the time being.” Or this person might feel genuine remorse for being the reason why your marriage is on the rocks. Even though you shouldn’t hold your breath for it, you can still receive an apology and that could mend your heart a little, right?

Devaleena says, “If the other person has also been kept in the dark, they can offer an honest apology. And if they are apologizing, the decent thing to do is to be the bigger person here and accept it. You have to understand that there is no point in holding a third person accountable. It always takes two to have an affair.”

    4. You can make that person feel intimidated/jealous

Should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with? Perhaps you should if you are going there with a bigger agenda than just gathering information about the affair. When you are determined to make the other woman/man go away and save your marriage by hook or crook, you may have to do what it takes to hold on to your turf. Convince your spouse’s affair partner that you are the one who’s still in charge and half your job is done. After all, they also live with a series of insecurities while dating a married person.

A Reddit user shares a similar experience of having dealt with his wife’s affair partner, “My wife lent him 20 grand. She knew he wouldn’t be able to return the money and she was afraid of telling me. We were in the process of reconciling. So, I went to his house just for fun and dropped the bomb on him: “I am her husband.” He turned white. I demanded the money and threatened to show all the WhatsApp chats to his mom and daughters (he’s a widower). He paid in a week.”

    5. You know how they feel about your spouse now

Another positive outcome of meeting your spouse’s lover is that you get a hint of their feelings. Was it just a passing fling for them? Are they widely infatuated or are we talking about a meaningful bond here? From the way this person speaks about your spouse, you can make out if they will leave you two alone easily or if they would hold their ground and fight for their love. So then, should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with? I believe you already know your answer by now.

Cons of talking to the person your spouse cheated with

“Should I confront the woman my husband cheated with/the man my wife has an affair with?” You go to a therapist or a friend with the same query and chances are their advice would be a firm ‘no’. It may not be what you want to hear at the moment but they have got a point. Confronting your spouse’s affair partner may open a can of worms and the damage done could be beyond any fixing – for your mental health and your marriage.

According to Devaleena, “The worst part of this strategy is that you contact this person in search of full clarity. And there is no guarantee that you can actually get that. What if the person lies to your face?” On that note, let’s discuss the cons of talking to the person your spouse is cheating with:

    1. They can provoke you

When you are trying to settle on a yes/no for the “should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with” conundrum, remember this encounter can turn real nasty real soon. They would probably go to any extent to safeguard their dignity and won’t let go without a tough battle of words. Can you stoop down to their level? I guess not. But you should know what’s coming your way.

Devaleena says, “In case the affair partner is being provocative, there is a possibility it’s majorly influenced by your spouse. Probably, this person is also brainwashed just like they tried to manipulate you. When a married person is having an affair, they tend to say a lot of bad things about the spouse to gain sympathy from the other woman/man.”

    2. You can’t help comparing yourself to them

Patrick was intimidated when he saw the young, handsome guy his wife was dating, “My wife cheated on me and I can’t stop thinking about it. Before confronting him, I was all about, “I want to hurt the man who slept with my wife”. But when I met this exuberant, dashing, life-affirming fellow, I felt, “How can a 48-year-old boring chemistry teacher compete with that?” Any woman would fall for his charm.”

Devaleena makes a really good point here for people like Patrick, “It’s a gross mistake that most spouses who have been cheated on make. They end up believing that something is lacking in them whereas the truth is that the real issue or trigger here is the cheaters’ psychosocial issues. They act the way they do because they feel something is lacking in them or struggle with low self-esteem. There is absolutely no reason to beat yourself up or let this affair affect your self-worth in any way.”

    3. The details can be painful to hear

Should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with? We would say ‘yes’ on one condition – only if you promise you can hold yourself together after finding out the painful specifics of this affair. That’s a pretty unreasonable clause, I know. But we are preparing you for the worst-case scenario.

These little things might come up during the conversation. The affair partner might even blurt out hurtful things just out of spite, like “Your spouse is amazing in bed” or “S/he surprised me with an all-expense-paid romantic trip to Hawaii”. Do you think you will be able to gulp it down?

    4. You may not get the truth out of them

The objective of reaching out to the person your spouse is cheating with is to find out what exactly happened, right? You need clarity, maybe a timeline, or who approached first and how serious the relationship has gotten. But how can you be sure that they will spill the truth and nothing else? They are probably thinking, “His wife contacted me and asked me to meet. There must be something fishy” and they will become extra cautious.

So, they might say all sorts of irrelevant things to divert your attention from the primary issue. They can offer you some half-truths or outright deny the whole thing. At the end of the day, you will come back with a chaotic mind, more puzzled than ever. Unless you are absolutely sure what to say to the man who slept with your wife or your husband’s affair partner, it’s probably not the best move to confront them on an impulse.

I want to hurt the man who slept with my wife
Your spouse’s affair partner may not tell you the entire truth

    5. You can ruin your chances of rebuilding the marriage

Infidelity can be a dealbreaker but many people work through it and come out stronger as a couple. In fact, research shows that 90% of cheating spouses do not marry their affair partners. Instead, they often engage in couples therapy, which helps immensely in rebuilding the marriage after an affair.

But if you try to cross your spouse and meet their partner straight away, it might backfire. They can get furious, maybe even completely withdraw from the relationship both emotionally and physically. And it will leave you with no other option than prepare for the end of your marriage. Devaleena suggests, “If an affair has happened, it means there is a lack of mutual respect, love, empathy, and care for each other. Those are the aspects you need to focus on rather than contacting this person.”

    Key Pointers

    • Confronting the person your spouse is cheating with can have either positive or negative outcome
    • It depends on the kind of relationship you and your spouse have and the nature of the affair too
    • The major advantage of this confrontation is that you get to hear a different point of view and get some clarity on the matter
    • But this person could try to provoke you or tell you no truths at all
    • Comparing yourself with them can totally harm your confidence level
    • You may lose your chance of rebuilding the marriage

We present the good and the bad aspects of talking to your spouse’s lover. But our scale slightly weighs on the negative side. Before you settle on a firm answer to the question, should you contact the person your spouse is cheating with, think long and hard. Because this confrontation is going to be an emotional hell.

Perhaps you should consider solving it with your spouse instead of dragging in a third person and losing your dignity in the process. But ultimately, it’s your decision. And if you need any help at any point to keep it together, skilled and experienced counselors on Bonobology’s panel of experts are here for you.

  • Wakanda Forever: Marvel confirms identity of Black Panther in official trailer

The identity of the new Black Panther has sparked online debate for months with production only confirming no plans to recast Chadwick Boseman’s character.

Marvel has debuted the official trailer for its highly anticipated Black Panther sequel Wakanda Forever ahead of its November 11 theatrical debut.

The new trailer which debuts alongside news of early ticket sales, finally lets fans in on what to expect from the sequel while finally unveiling the identity of the Black Panther, a topic of intense debate these past months.

    Watch the trailer:

A few seconds to the end of the trailer shows a female, presumably Letitia Wright’s Shuri donning the Black Panther suit. Marvel’s new poster also spots white dots on the Black Panther mask which bear a striking resemblance to the facial paint worn by Shuri in the first-look teaser.

While the studio is yet to confirm, the teaser is enough to keep fans buzzing in a bid to connect the dots. Since the sequel’s announcement, speculations have been rife about Wright taking on the Black Panther suit.

The British star’s character is T’challa’s tech wiz kid sister and easily fit the bill especially after Marvel confirmed that there were no plans to recast Chadwick Boseman’s character.

Recall that the actor passed on in 2020 from a prolonged battle with cancer. He starred as King T’Challa in the Ryan Cooglar directed film.

  • How to get the spark back in a broken relationship – 10 expert strategies

When you are past the excitement and emotional rush of the initial stages of a relationship, reality hits and you realize that maintaining a partnership or marriage is not a walk in the park. You see each other for who you are (both the good and the bad), responsibilities increase, priorities change, fights happen, kids take over, busy work schedules, resentment creeps in, there’s little to no intimacy – everything seems broken. Amidst all of this, you are left wondering how to get the spark back in a broken relationship.

As the relationship progresses, you tend to lose the zing, the passion, and the excitement that once existed between you and your partner. However, this doesn’t mean that the love or romance that both of you shared is dead. It probably just got lost in the humdrum of daily life. You can still get your relationship back to the way it was in the beginning.

To understand how to get the chemistry back in a relationship, we spoke to counseling psychologist Namrata Sharma (Masters in Applied Psychology), who is a mental health and SRHR advocate and specializes in offering counseling for toxic relationships, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and gender-based and domestic violence.

Before we get to whether or not it is possible to rekindle a broken relationship or rebuild chemistry in a relationship, let’s talk about what a spark means. According to Namrata, “A spark is the first flash of attraction you feel toward a person. There’s so much happening – looking at or touching them for the first time, making eye contact, and other cute gestures. This spark brings two people into a relationship.”

“People tend to confuse it with falling in love or being in love, which is not true. A spark is similar to the honeymoon phase that couples experience in the initial days of the relationship. It’ll last for about 6-7 months. After that, it’s all about how both partners maintain their relationship. When you grow in a relationship, there is no such thing as a continuous long-term spark”, she explains.

Can you find chemistry in a relationship again? Is it possible to rekindle the romance in a long-term relationship or get your relationship back to the way it was in the beginning? Yes, it is definitely possible. Namrata explains, “If there is no chemistry at all, the relationship will die. Sparks are those pumps of air that your body gets so that you can breathe again. Even in long-term marriages, you might always feel the spark. You might find sparks or chemistry in your relationship here and there. But if you can’t feel it in the little things you do, then the relationship will not last.

“You don’t suddenly fall out of love with someone unless you have faced a traumatic incident or some kind of abuse or violence in the relationship. However, if partners have become distant over the years due to responsibilities, attachment patterns, or other reasons, but still want to be together, then they can definitely work toward bringing the spark back in their relationship.” Therefore, don’t lose hope. Read on to know how you can rekindle a broken relationship.

How To Get The Spark Back In A Broken Relationship?

When your partner and you started dating, there were sparks flying everywhere. You couldn’t take your eyes off or keep your hands off each other, would never run out of things to talk about, had date nights, enjoyed romantic candlelight dinners, etc. You never imagined that there would come a day when starting a conversation with your partner would seem like a task because there’s nothing to talk about or physical intimacy would feel like a thing of the past.

But the day has come. You probably feel that conflict, misunderstanding, resentment, or uncomfortable silences have taken over your relationship, which used to thrive and be filled with happiness at one point. The spark is gone. But don’t lose hope. You can bring the zing back into your relationship. Marriages hit a rough patch at some point but that doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the road.

You can rebuild chemistry in a relationship. You can get your relationship back to the way it was in the beginning. It is possible to rekindle the romance in a long-term relationship and fall in love all over again. This journey begins with coming face-to-face with questions like “How to make him feel the spark again?” or “How do I rekindle a broken relationship with my girlfriend?” If your mind is clouded by such thoughts, allow us to help you. Here are 10 tips on how to get the spark back in a broken relationship:

    1. Communicate with each other

When was the last time you really had a meaningful conversation with your partner? When was the last time you shared your feelings and concerns with each other? Communication problems in a relationship can drive a wedge between partners, which is why it is crucial to keep the conversation going to keep the spark alive in a marriage. By communication, we don’t mean making small talk or chatting for a bit during meals or before going to bed.

Namrata says, “Get to know your partner on a deeper level. When you realize that the spark in your relationship has gone, you will also feel that there has been a layer of misunderstandings and a lot of masking on behalf of both you and your partner. This is when both partners need to peel those layers and figure out what is going on inside each other’s hearts and minds. Proper communication is a must for two partners will be able to seep inside each other’s hearts and really understand the root cause of their problems.”

Communicate to understand your partner better, see things from their point of view, listen to what they have to say, express your feelings, validate each other, and build an intimate and emotional connection with them. Be honest with each other. There will be disagreements and arguments, but learn to find an amicable solution to those problems. Both partners cannot always be on the same page, which is why you must learn to agree to disagree. Make each other feel heard and respected.

    2. Foster physical touch and sexual intimacy

Building physical or sexual intimacy is a crucial tip on how to get the spark back in a broken relationship. A huge part of a relationship involves being physically attracted to and intimate with each other. Sex or physical touch (hugging, cuddling, kissing, holding hands, etc.) has the power to bring couples closer physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Work toward rebuilding the physical closeness that you once shared with your partner. If you are not able to do it naturally or spontaneously, schedule it. If the sex isn’t great for either of the partners, explore how you can make it better and strengthen your sexual and, eventually, emotional bond.

Namrata says, “Sexual activities play a huge role in bringing the spark back in a relationship. Imagine how you would feel if you were having sex with your partner for the last time. That way, the sex is going to be passionate, wild, and loving. Teasing each other, making out, racing your fingers in each other’s hair, holding hands, or just keeping it romantic with certain gestures go a long way to rekindle a broken relationship.”

    3. How to get the spark back in a broken relationship? Reminisce old times

Recall the time when you had just started dating and what brought you together in the first place. Talk about the qualities that attracted you to each other. Reminisce old memories, feelings, funny stories, and all the stuff you did together in the initial days of dating or courtship.

Talk about the behavior or characteristics in your partner that turned you on then and continues to today. It will help you connect and figure out why you fell in love with each other and what has changed since then. It will also help you see each other in a new light.

Namrata advises, “When you’re with each other, you tend to discuss and reminisce old times about how you got into a relationship, what was the first thing that attracted you to each other, and other memories that you created in all these years. Revive the activities that you did when you first met. Visit the places that you would frequent in the initial days of dating. It might just bring back lost feelings and emotions.”

  • 15 assured signs he will never forget you

It is never easy to get over a relationship that has lasted for years on end. You thought this was it, that they are the one for you. And now here you are, looking for signs he will never forget you after the breakup.

You may be trying to ensure he still loves you because you want to get back together with him. After a bad separation, it is hard to jump back into the same relationship, no matter how much you want to. The best way to do that is by first understanding where each of you went wrong individually and trying to grow as a partner and human being.

Even if you do not want your ex to come back as your lover, you may not really want to let go of the confidante in him. Exes can actually become excellent friends too. You don’t want to lose him completely, and we get you. That is exactly why we have put together a list of the best tell-tale signs he will always love you. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right in and make you worry a bit less.

    1. Actively checks in on you

Even if you have parted ways, if he has had a difficult time getting over you, he will check up on you every now and then. This is one of the most visible signs he will never forget you. After all, can a man really forget a woman he still loves?

    2. Likes your content on social media

Have you ever wondered why you end up stalking your ex on social media? It is the same reason why he is stalking you. We are not talking about the creepy or obsessive kind of stalking. More of the loving kind where he is one of the first people to quickly check out any new story or post you put up on your social media handles. If you are looking for signs that he will always love you, this is it.

Moreover, he will also share reels, memes, and other social media content with you actively. These are the signs of a man who will never ever stop loving you. We are talking about love in 2022. Memes are important. And no, we are not joking.

    3. Asks for your pictures now and then

Be it you hanging out with your friends or even your new partner, he will ask for pictures of you. This is actually one of the most important signs of a man who will never ever stop loving you. Although the relationship did not last, he still wants to be a part of your life somehow. That brings him joy and he takes comfort in photos of you living your life to the fullest.

    4. Gets excited to meet you

Being friends with your ex is something that a lot of people are into and surprisingly, most of them share a beautiful bond with their exes. When you are friends with your ex-boyfriend and he still gets stoked about hanging out with you, he is most likely still into you. If he doesn’t cancel the plan and always sounds super into meeting you, this is one of the most assured signs he will never forget you.

    5. Picks up your calls instantly

We move on and that is how life works. But if your ex-boyfriend still gives you priority and instantly picks up your call, he still has that soft spot for you. It is one of the biggest signs that he cares deeply for you even now. Whether he is looking to rekindle the flame you two had or just genuinely cares for you, him picking up your calls or calling you back as soon as he can is why he will never forget you.

    6. Still tells you everything

Maybe he had a tough day at work or something went wrong on his way back home, he will talk about it with you. This shows that his affection toward you makes him want to be a part of your life again. It brings a lot of peace to him knowing that you are still there listening to him. Hands down, one of the most guaranteed signs he will never forget you and most likely, will always love you.

    7. Stays in touch with your friends and family

Breakups can get pretty nasty and yet sometimes, even through the nastiest of breakups, the partners manage to stay in touch with their ex’s friends and family. Sometimes, they become a part of not just your life, but also your ex’s life. This shows that no matter how bad things may have gotten between the two of you, he still respects you and your loved ones. He doesn’t want to completely break ties and call it quits. No, this guy won’t quit easily and may still be trying to get you back.

    8. First person to wish you on your birthday

Birthdays are always special and our loved ones make sure that they are always extra memorable. If your ex stays up till 12 at night just to make sure that he is still the first person to wish you, he could still be deeply and madly in love with you. Either that, or he really does value the bond that you two once shared.

    9. Always a text away to help you

When a terrible situation hits you like a truck, you will always find him just a text away. He is not going to seen-zone or notification-zone you. So, automatically, you won’t have to think about how to get his attention. You matter to him and he will be all ears when you want to rant about a terrible day or need help with your assignments. He won’t think twice before helping you and that is one of the purest signs that he will never forget you.

    10. Still keeps your photos on his phone

One of the truest signs of a man who will never ever stop loving you is if he still keeps pictures of you and the two of you on his phone. We keep love inside photographs after all, right? Photos can take you down a memory lane and help you relive those moments all over again, even if for a few minutes. How can a man forget a woman he loves when these very memories are where his peace lies?

    11. You both had a serious-ly long relationship

It goes without saying that serious relationships, when they do not last, often leave behind severely broken hearts that take a long time to heal. If you had such a serious relationship, it is not unexpected for your ex-boyfriend to still be hung up on you. He still has his hopes up or he simply hasn’t moved on yet, and that is completely understandable. When you go through such a breakup, you don’t really forget about your partner. Something or the other will always remind you of them.

    12. Often brings up memories that the two of you shared

So, the two of you have been reminiscing about the past and he goes, “Hey, do you remember that incident?” Well, he hasn’t forgotten one moment that he has spent with you and will constantly bring up such beautiful memories of the two of you together. The breakup has not been kind to him. He still loves you and if you are wondering, “Can a man forget a woman he loves?”, the answer is no. Erasing memories after a breakup is important. However, if he is not able to do it, he is still very much in love with you.

    13. Can’t stop caring about you

Does he drop a text asking you if you are okay or how your day was? This is one of the most evident signs that he will never forget you. He just can’t stop caring about you and his actions scream that. This is a very common result of relationships that break off after a very long time, say, a couple of years. In that case, talking and sharing things with each other becomes a habit. This habit takes a lot of time to get rid of (of course, only if you want to be rid of it).

    14. Still is a shoulder for you to cry on

Shoulder To Cry On Signs He Will Never Forget You
If he’s still always there for you, it is a big sign that he will never forget you.

Whether you dated a guy who took advantage of your vulnerability and dumped you or you are just going through a rough patch, he will always be there for you. You can still meet up and cry your heart out in front of him while he comforts you. The very fact that he is always up to coming over and comforting you shows that he is never going to forget you. You won’t have to come up with ways on how to make him never forget you. He is already there.

    15. Not seeing someone else yet

If he is refraining from seeing someone else, chances are that he is still not over you. This is one of the most common signs that your ex-boyfriend won’t forget you easily. It definitely suggests that he was deeply invested in the relationship and wanted something permanent out of it. He doesn’t seem to be over the fact that it didn’t work out. And if he was the one who ended it, he is definitely regretting breaking up with you big time. It doesn’t matter what you both went through that resulted in a breakup, the relationship left a lasting impression on him and that’s why he will never forget you.

How to make sure a guy never forgets you

On the other hand, if you see signs that he’s starting to drift apart from you, then your worst fears are coming alive. If you want him back and wish to ensure he doesn’t forget you, it is time to buckle up and follow a couple of essential tips. These will not only help you grow as a person, but also help you get back the man you truly love.

    1. Be preoccupied and happy

When you are at peace with your own self and start loving your own company, you will not require constant external attention to be happy. This will allow him to witness true growth in you as a human being and automatically come back into your life if he broke things off unexpectedly. Meanwhile, you have to find ways to be a happy woman. Not pretence, but a truly happy person overall.

You can totally miss someone and want them back badly. However, do not let it be a hindrance in your growth and rather, a catalyst. If you want to see the signs he will always love you, you will first have to be unforgettable. What better way than to let all those negative thoughts just slide away and focus on yourself?

    2. Don’t be easily available

Can a man forget a woman he loves? Well, this is a no-brainer in the world of reverse psychology. When you are not constantly available to him, he will start to understand your value and what he is missing out on. Moreover, it gives him time to think about what he actually wants. In the process, you are always on his mind and it will be hard for him to forget about you.

    3. Don’t be too hard on him

Can a man forget a woman he loves? Well, it depends on whether the woman respects him or is just downright thrashing him verbally left, right, and center. You do not want to hurt him to the point of no return. In fact, you do not want to hurt him at all. If you start bringing things up from the distant past and make them a point of argument with him, then instead of pulling him closer, you will only push him far away.

You want to make him realize you’re good for him, so treat him well. Even if things don’t go back to the way they were, he will always respect you for it all and not forget you.

    4. Don’t keep your expectations too high

Expectations hurt and that is the brutal truth. When you get your hopes way too high, it is going to cause unnecessary toxicity in your life. You will be in a constant state of war with yourself where you can’t stop thinking about him and ‘what could have been. Knowing how to manage your expectations is of crucial importance to keep your mental peace intact.

So, don’t keep your expectations high or try to control something that you just can’t. All you can do is try your level best to get things back on track with him. He is definitely not going to forget you if you keep realistic expectations and do not impose conditions on him.

    5. Be mysterious

You want to share with him quite a lot of things that are going on in your life. However, do not let him in on all the details. You do not want to give it all away. Add a teeny-weeny bit of enigma to your personality and it will pull him right in. You will be stuck in his mind 24*7 and that is exactly what you want.

    Key Pointers

    • A man who will not easily forget you will constantly check up on you
    • He will be a text or a call away and will often bring up memories of the two of you together, suggesting that he misses those moments badly
    • If, on the other hand, you see the signs that he is getting detached, don’t make yourself easily available to him if you want him back in your life
    • Neither should you completely ignore him to the point that he can’t take it anymore. Instead, add a little mystery to your personality to make him want you more

So, these were some of the most common signs that he will never forget you. If you have had a bad breakup, don’t worry, it gets better. However, if you are still punishing him for something that he has done, don’t pull the act for too long. If you really love him, talk things out and get back together or get some much-deserved closure for the two of you. Communication is the key and it always will be.

    FAQs

    1. Can a man just forget you?

It is never really possible to forget someone who had once played a very valuable role in your life. A man may get tired and move on if you try to play too hard to get. However, he will never really forget you completely.

    2. What makes a guy remember a girl?

Everyone has these distinctive characteristics that make them stand out from the crowd. Whether it is an impeccable sense of humor, your kindness, your brave approach, or your pretty smile, these small things will make him remember you. If he revisits one of those places where the two of you spent a lot of time together, he might drop a text saying that he remembers your very first moments in that place. You get the drill.

  • Government uses $75 million petroleum revenue for Agenda 111 project – PIAC

Public Interest Accountability Committee (PIAC) has revealed that the Akufo-Addo-led administration has used a total of $75 million in petroleum revenue for the Agenda 111 project.

PIAC disclosed in its semi-annual report for the first half of 2022 on the management and use of petroleum revenue that the government disbursed US$49.4 million in 2021 through the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF).

Further information provided by the committee showed that $25.6 million was paid out in the first half of 2022.

According to the Committee, GIIF had established a new ring-fenced subsidiary vehicle known as H-GIIF to execute the transaction and make all payments to the contractors.

“GIIF has indicated that it has been engaged by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to help ensure administrative and project management efficiencies as well as payment integrity throughout the process, especially for the 101 standard 60/100-bed district hospitals,” the report noted.

Meanwhile, PIAC has stated that the government is yet to furnish its outfit with the “specific details of all disbursements.”

PIAC, in its report, recommended that the government direct subsequent disbursements of funds to the Ministry of Health to support the Agenda 111 Project as an expenditure under Priority Areas.

This, according to PIAC, will enable GIIF to focus on its core mandate.

“It will enable GIIF focus on its core mandate of investing funds, including its Annual Budget Funding Amount (ABFA) disbursements, in commercial infrastructural projects that would yield returns,” the report said.

    What is Agenda 111

The Agenda 111 programme by the Akufo-Addo government is to ensure Ghanaians in every nook and cranny of the country have access to quality healthcare
    services.

The facilities will include 4 state-of-the-art surgical theatres for maternity, obstetrics, and gynaecology, and a full complement of male, female, paediatric, and isolation wards, among others.

  • Husband says he loves me but still has an affair

The sacred vows of the institution of marriage do not come with the guarantee of fidelity. We, however, have grown up in a society that teaches us that love means being with one person for the rest of your life. Hence, when a loving husband cheats on his wife, many women are left asking, “How can my husband love me and have an affair?”

If the husband has an affair, it’s only natural for the woman to think that he is done with her. The act of infidelity is deeply hurtful because it essentially tells the person who has been cheated on “you are not enough”. As you’re making sense of the what and how of it all, asking yourself, “Where was I lacking? Why wasn’t I enough?”, what if he makes gigantic claims of undying love? The truth is, it’s possible that guys cheat even if they love you.

We understand how confusing this can be. That’s why we’re here to answer the million-dollar question: how can my husband love me and have an affair? With insights from relationship and intimacy coach Shivanya Yogmayaa (internationally certified in the therapeutic modalities of EFT, NLP, CBT, and REBT), who specializes in different forms of couples counseling, let’s ascertain if a man can cheat and still be in love with this wife.

Can A Man Cheat But Still Love His Wife?

There are many interpretations to this question, and many women have spent numerous hours wondering, “How do I know my husband loves me after cheating on me?” However, there are no absolute answers to this question. Whether or not you believe a man can love you and still cheat on you depends on your understanding of a relationship.

Maureen, who is still healing from the scars of her husband’s affair, doesn’t believe that to be the case. “No. To cheat is to act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage for yourself. It is betrayal, and to betray a person is the deepest emotional wound you can deliver to them. There is no love in dishonesty, unfairness, or taking advantage of someone for your own pleasure. There is no love in betrayal. None,” she says.

While most people believe that to love is to commit wholly to a single person, there are others of the view that love and physical needs can be separate and you might not get both from the same partner. When a husband has an affair just to fulfill a sexual desire or need, it is possible that he still has a love for his wife.

Shivanya says, “People’s understanding of love and the way they handle their intimate relationships is changing. Apart from love, factors like compatibility also come into play when a person chooses a life partner. But they may still seek adventure and exploration. Even when they are happy in a marriage and still love their wives, men cheat for the sake of validation and a taste of the forbidden fruit.”

“As we age, a relationship becomes predictable and mundane. That’s when people seek excitement in the form of a one-night stand or an affair. The husband still sees the wife as a lifelong partner but seeking novelty as an antidote to the mundaneness of his everyday life can become a motivation for an affair.”

When a man chooses to be in a monogamous relationship, he is promising to respect and love one person: his wife. With time, the nature of love may change but mutual respect and the promise to be faithful should be maintained.  And that respect should be enough to stop a man from being unfaithful to his wife.  But that’s not always the case and lines of fidelity are often breached. When that happens, how does a cheating husband feel about his wife? Maybe he does love her. Does that justify the infidelity?

Shivanya says, “In a monogamous relationship, cheating is never justified. However, If you are in a toxic marriage where your wife rejects you sexually and emotionally, then an affair becomes understandable. The man may feel compelled to fulfill his needs outside the marriage because his wife is rejecting him.”

How Can My Husband Love Me And Have An Affair?

If a man breaks the sanctity of marriage, does he still love his wife? Well, he may. Human relationships are often too complex to be boxed into absolute rights and wrongs. A man may well feel love for his wife and yet continue to cheat on her. And the reasons can range from unmet needs in the relationship, unresolved emotional baggage, or simply, the thrill of it.

For a lot of women, infidelity isn’t always a deal-breaker because most husbands claim that “it was just physical and I still love you” or “I’m sorry, I got carried away and it made me realize you are the only woman I want to be with”. In such situations, they may find themselves open to the possibility of rebuilding a relationship after infidelity.

However, before taking that leap of faith, it’s important to answer the following question: how can my husband love me and have an affair? Well, to decipher the answer, here are 5 things you should know:

    1. The gap in monogamy

When we look at a man who has had an affair, we always wonder, does he still love his wife? And accepting that an unfaithful husband does harbor feelings for his wife can be somewhat bizarre. And we often justify it by saying, “Men will be men.”

Do guys simply cheat by nature? Although such a belief may be viewed as having a somewhat unfavorable opinion of men, some social science scholars claim that it is a biological fact. In his book The Monogamy Gap: Men, Love, and the Reality of Cheating, Eric Anderson makes the contentious claim that males are built to cheat.

Professor of Sociology at a prestigious university in the UK, Anderson conducted research on 120 men and discovered that most of the subjects who had cheated had done so because they had grown weary of having sex with their spouses and partners, not because they had lost interest in them. Similar research on female infidelity has discovered that women most frequently cheat for emotional reasons rather than physical ones. Maybe, then, it is safe to say that somewhere in some corner of their heart, men do love their wives despite the infidelity.

    2. The best of both worlds

How can my husband love me and have an affair, you ask? Because he wants the best of both worlds. We live in a predominantly patriarchal society where men have it easier in most aspects of life and are bestowed with the privilege of acting with impunity. Since many men view affairs as a means to physical release or sexual gratification, they may believe they can have the best of both worlds: a devoted wife, who is also a trustworthy companion and friend, and sex outside the marriage, with a variety of women or a steady affair partner. This mindset is obviously toxic.

“Boredom in a relationship can be the primary reason for infidelity on men’s part. However, seeking what’s lacking in your marriage outside is a convenient shortcut and can hardly be justified. Both partners are responsible for keeping things exciting in the relationship.

“Most couples don’t experiment or communicate their fantasies, which results in a boring sexual life. If a man feels that he cannot express his desires or his sexual fantasies to his wife and things remain monotonous in bed, he may use this lingering boredom and predictability as an excuse to cheat. This can be prevented by keeping the relationship exciting and interesting through means like dressing up or role play,” says Shivanya.

    3. You don’t validate his inner hero

Ah, the age-old hero complex. James Bauer, a relationship expert, came up with this interesting theory about what really motivates men in relationships and is embedded in their DNA. He called it the hero instinct, which essentially means that a man needs to feel wanted and needed by his partner to stay invested in a relationship. The hero instinct is the modern-day equivalent of the knight in shining armor rescuing a damsel in distress.

Once activated, these drivers transform men into the protagonists of their own stories. When they find someone who can trigger the hero instinct, they feel better, fall in love more deeply, and make deeper commitments. Sadly, most women are unaware of this and hence unable to trigger a man’s hero instinct to keep him invested in a relationship.

Jenna, 32, who strongly feels that the hero instinct cost her her marriage, says, “My husband and I were childhood sweethearts, so when I found out that my husband was having an affair with our babysitter, I was devastated.

“I confronted him but he claimed he loved me and begged for forgiveness. I thought, how can my husband love me and have an affair? Turns out, he was attracted to because she seemed like a damsel in distress. I have always been a fiercely independent woman and wasn’t igniting the hero in him who needed to rescue me. I left him immediately.”

    4. He loves you but doesn’t like you

The question of how a man can cheat on a woman he loves doesn’t baffle women alone. Men too wonder, “Why did I have an affair when I love my wife?” Sometimes, the answer could well be that even though a man loves his wife, he may not like the person she has become. Yes, loving and liking someone are two separate things.

There are various stages of intimacy or love and couples often connect on different levels – physical, emotional, and intellectual. In simple terms: how passionately you feel about each other, how powerful your sentiments are, how enjoyable your talks are, and how in sync you are intellectual. These levels largely wax and wane. It’s possible that your husband may grow to dislike certain aspects of your personality but may still have a deep emotional attachment to you. That’s exactly why he allows himself to cheat despite not having fallen out of love with you.

Shivanya says, “It is not necessary to always like the people we love. Besides, in a marriage, love transitions into a habit of being in each other’s presence. In such a scenario, men love their wives out of habit and don’t want to build an entirely new relationship with a person. Most affairs are limited to fulfilling a sexual desire and not restarting an entire relationship.”

    5. He is feeling overlooked

Sometimes, guys cheat even if they love you because they feel ignored in the marriage. Perhaps, he feels that in managing your myriad responsibilities, you have started overlooking him, or that the relationship has been placed on the back burner for too long, or that he has slipped down your list of priorities. This can make a man feel hurt and rejected, cheating can be a way of dealing with these uncomfortable emotions and seeking validation.

“Modern-day women are becoming more independent and self-sufficient. They are no longer the meek, submissive partners that a man needed to protect and provide for. This can leave a man feeling insecure. As a result, he may seek outside validation to “feel like a man”. He may search for a woman who needs him and whom he can protect. Strong women make men feel emasculated, hence to feel useful or worthy, he may seek liaisons outside the marriage.”

    Key Pointers

    • A husband can cheat on a wife even though he loves her because the affair is purely physical
    • As couples become older, the boredom in the relationship can become a trigger for infidelity
    • Men love their wives and still have an affair because they want a companion at home while also having someone to fulfill their fantasies with
    • When a woman does not validate the hero instinct of a man, he, despite loving the wife, seeks a partner who can provide him that validation
    • Loving and liking a partner are two separate things. When a man stops liking his wife, he seeks a partner outside of the marriage
    • A man can love his wife and still have an affair if he feels ignored or overlooked

There is no definitive answer to “how do I know my husband loves me after cheating on me”. While cheating is a dealbreaker for most couples, some see it as a setback they can move past. It all depends on what kind of relationship you share and what you’re ready to put up with in the name of love. Whatever the cause, infidelity can be a deeply scarring experience. If you are struggling to heal from this setback and looking for help, skilled and licensed counselors on Bonobology’s panel are here for you.

  • BREAKING: Moody’s downgrades Ghana’s credit worthiness from Caa1 to Caa2

Ghana’s long-term issuer and senior unsecured debt ratings have been downgraded from Caa1 to Caa2 by international rating agency Moody’s Investors Service, and the ratings have been put under review.

The downgrade, according to Moodys, reflects the recent macroeconomic deterioration of Ghana’s economy, which has worsened the country’s liquidity and debt sustainability issues and raised the likelihood of a debt default.

“Without external support, the government’s policy levers to arrest a worsening macroeconomic backdrop and heavier debt burden are extremely limited; the government’s small revenue base, large and increasingly absorbed by interest payments, further intensifies the policy dilemma between competing objectives, including servicing debt while meeting essential social needs,” Moody’s said on September 30, 2022.

It further explained that the initiation of the review for downgrade is prompted by the ongoing negotiations between the government of Ghana and the IMF over a funding programme that may include a condition for debt restructuring to ensure debt sustainability.

“Such a restructuring would likely be considered a distressed exchange and thereby a default under the rating agency’s definition. The review will evaluate the likelihood of a debt restructuring being a prerequisite to secure sufficient and durable financing from official sources to avert a fiscal and balance of payments crisis that is already unfolding,” Moody’s noted.

In addition to the rating downgrade, Moody’s has also downgraded Ghana’s bond enhanced by a partial guarantee from the International Development Association (IDA, Aaa stable) to Caa1 from B3.

This reflects a blended expected loss consistent with a one-notch uplift on the issuer rating.

Meanwhile, the rating has also been placed on review for downgrade given the review initiated on all unsecured debt ratings of the government.

  • Position yourself to take advantage of grants to grow – AGI

Businesses should position themselves to take advantage of incentives that promote the industry’s growth, according to the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).

The government offers a huge number of grants. Put the correct structures in place, such as good bookkeeping, a functioning governance system (even if it’s a tiny board), a functioning production system, monitoring employee performance, paying taxes on time, and having audited accounts, according to Seth Twum Akwaboah, CEO of AGI.

He made the point that the majority of SMEs have a lot of work to do before they can scale their operations up.

“When you up-scale, the advantage is that you enjoy the economies of scale and, therefore, your cost is spread over a large unit, you become more competitive price-wise, and you have a good market share.”

“There are so many grants you can benefit from, but if you are not prepared, you cannot get the needed support. With AGI, business development activities are very important to us,” he reiterated.

Mr. Akwaboah was speaking at the 19th Annual General Meeting (AGI) which coincided with a workshop for its members in the Western and Central Regions in Takoradi.

It was on the theme: ‘Leveraging Public Private Collaboration to Accelerate Sustainable Industrial Development’.

Mr. Akwaboah further mentioned that AGI will continue to work efficiently to meet the needs of the business community through effective national and international engagement.

Jospeph Garbrah, Chairman of AGI in the Western and Central Regions, noted that currently, the private sector finds it very difficult to operate as cost of materials has become high, and thus affected the cost of doing business.

“Price hikes and shortages have disrupted several industrial productions and severely threatened the survival of most businesses and livelihoods,” he said.

He therefore called on government to collaborate with industry to chart a competitive path in order to build and sustain a greater economy for jobs and shared prosperity.

  • Return $100m oil money to Petroleum Holding Fund – Mahama to gov’t

Former President John Dramani Mahama finds news that some $100 million has been diverted from petroleum funds for unapproved expenditure disturbing.

He insists that there can be no justification for diverting revenues from the nation’s share of petroleum resources into any other account besides the Petroleum Hold Fund (PHF).

He said this amounts to a violation of Section 3 of the PRMA (Act 815) which “explicitly says that all Petroleum revenue due the Republic derived from whatever source shall be assessed, collected, and accounted for by the Ghana Revenue Authority.”

“Section (15) of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Act (Act 919), is also clear that “Any borrowing exceeding the cedi equivalent of thirty million United States Dollars for the purpose of exploration, development, and production shall be approved by Parliament and shall be in consonance with the Petroleum Revenue Management Act,” Mahama added in a statement.

He asked the Minister for Finance to immediately return all such illegal payments back into the PHF “as there is no record to confirm parliamentary approval on any such loans acquired by GNPC in their work programme.”

The Minority in Parliament last week raised concern over the whereabouts of over $100 million accrued from Ghana’s Petroleum lifting in the first quarter of 2022.

The Minority in a statement said the revenue from the Jubilee and TEN fields to a company was transferred without Parliamentary approval.

The Minority also claimed that the Finance Minister has ceded shares from the 2021 Occidental (Oxy) transaction in respect of the Jubilee and TEN Fields to an offshore company known as JOHL “in a very surreptitious and opaque manner.”

  • ‘I have the necessary documentation to operate in the mining sector’ – Chairman Wontumi

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, a businessman, has refuted claims that his firm, Akonta Mining Limited, has been involved in illicit mining operations in the nation.

This comes after the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources ordered the mining company to stop working in the Tano Nimiri Forest due to claims that it was doing so unlawfully, or “galamsey.”

But in response to the news, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) said his organization had been given all the authorization it needed to operate in the region.

“I am appealing to them to use the law. They should do their investigations and we should let the law work. I have a large-scale company which Akonta mining is under…All the required documents I have them in my possession and I will make all available,” Chairman Wontumi said on his private television station Wontumi TV on Monday, October 3.

Touching on claims he was involved in galamsey-ridden activities, Chairman Wontumi insisted, “I want to tell the public that I am not into galamsey.”

Meanwhile, the Lands Ministry in a statement issued on September 30, 2022, said although Akonta Mining Limited has mining lease to undertake mining operations in some parts of Samreboi, outside the Forest Reserve, “the company has no mineral right to undertake any mining operations in the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve”.

“Our records show that Akonta Mining Ltd, on August 25, 2022, applied for a Mining Lease to undertake mining operations in the said Forest Reserve. By a Ministerial Directive, all reconnaissance, prospecting and/or exploratory activities in Forest Reserves in the country are suspended, except in exceptional circumstances.

“Although this directive does not affect mining in Forest Reserves, Akonta Mining Limited’s application has not been determined. Accordingly, any alleged activity being undertaken by the company in the Forest Reserve is illegal”, the statement further said.

  • Woman, 34, appears before court for defrauding by false pretence

A businesswoman, 34, has been charged with defrauding by false pretence when she appeared before a circuit court at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.

Ms Patience Pokua Frimpong Duncan pleaded not guilty to the charge and the court granted her GhC140,000.00 bail with four sureties to be justified.

The case has been adjourned to Wednesday, October 19, for further hearing.

Police Inspector Joseph Danso Gyamfi, the prosecutor, told the court, presided by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako, that the complainant, a poultry farmer, resided at Kyeremasu whilst the accused, a dried maize dealer, lived at Amasu in the Dormaa Municipality.

Inspt. Gyamfi said about six months ago, the accused collected 250 bags of maize, valued at GhC137,500.00, from the complainant, also a maize dealer, with the pretence of sending it to Accra to sell and pay back within a week but had failed to honour the promise.

After fruitless attempts to retrieve either his money or the maize, the complainant made a report to the Kyeremasu Police, leading to the arrest of the accused.

Inspt. Gyamfi said the accused claimed she gave the maize to her husband in Accra to sell but he had failed to bring the money.

The accused is yet to lead the police to the husband, who had refused to report to the police.

The prosecutor said she was consequently charged with the offence after investigations.

  • It’s difficult to service our bills – GUTA on depreciating cedi, high duty charges

The free slide of the cedi against the major trading currencies has been bemoaned by the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).

Dr. Joseph Obeng, the association’s president, claims that it is now challenging for the business community to pay their bills and import duties at the port.

Dr. Obeng stated in a news release that GhanaWeb was able to see, “The dollar will reach eleven Ghana cedis within a few days of the system receiving an injection of approximately US $750 million (Gh11).
In the corporate world, particularly in the immigrant community, as well as the general public, this has caused a great deal of uncertainty, aggravation, and exasperation.”

“To make matters worse, the Bank of Ghana (BOG) weekly exchange rate for Ghana Revenue Authority-Customs Division has also risen from 8.2 Ghana Cedis to 9.5 Ghana Cedis, which happened overnight. The change has shot up duty charges to about 30%. This situation is unbearable and needs swift action from the Government to save businesses. At this stage, it is becoming extremely difficult to service our bills, as well as pay our duty,” part of the release read.

The Association has called on government to come to their rescue in these challenging times to allow the business community to heave a sigh of relief.

    Read GUTA’s press release below;

PRESS STATEMENT ON THE ALARMING RATE OF THE DOLLAR TO THE CEDI

WHAT CAN WE DO AT THIS POINT?

TRADERS ASK, AS THE CEDI IS ABOUT ELEVEN (11) GHANA CEDIS TO THE DOLLAR

Within a few days of injecting about US $ 750m into the system, the dollar is heading to eleven Ghana cedis (Gh11). This has brought a great deal of confusion, frustration and exasperation in the business sector, especially, in the importing community, as well as the consuming public.

To make matters worse, the Bank of Ghana (BOG) weekly exchange rate for Ghana Revenue Authority-Customs Division has also risen from 8.2 Ghana Cedis to 9.5 Ghana Cedis, which happened overnight. The change has shot up duty charges to about 30%.

This situation is unbearable and needs swift action from the Government to save businesses. As a result, GUTA is calling on the Government to, as a matter of urgency, peg the dollar for the purpose of duty payments, at least quarterly, to mitigate the plight of the business community.

At this stage, it is becoming extremely difficult to service our bills, as well as pay our duty.

The question here is, what can we do at this point in time to continue to be in business?

In view of this hard situation,we find ourselves in, we would like to humbly appeal to the  relative institutions particularly Bank of Ghana and Ministry of finance,  that came before the Joint Committee set up by the Office of the Council of State to expedite the necessary action for prompt response.

We are also by this release reminding  government that depleting funds without being replenished is the number one cause for business failure.

Nine out of every 10 (90.1%) employed elderly persons are working in the private informal sector, with eight out of every ten (80.0%) being self-employed without employees.

Nationally, 395,693 older persons, representing over half (53.2%) of the employed elderly population, are in vulnerable employment.”

GSS requested an evaluation of Ghana’s capacity to protect the welfare of the nation’s rapidly ageing population.

  • We will work day, night to clear backlog of passports – Foreign Affairs Minister

The Foreign Affairs Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has assured that the Ministry is working to address the shortage of passports.

This is in line with Joy News reports that there has been a shortage of passports across the country.

Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Midday News on Monday, the Foreign Affiars Minister noted that “by the middle of this month – October, in about a week or so we should have enough to clear the backlog.”

According to her, by the end of October 2022, there would be more passport booklets in stock “to take us beyond the end of the year into the next quarter.”

She added that the Ministry “continue to seek the welfare of applicants to ensure that they get a good service.”

Madam Botchwey insisted the issue over the shortage is related to the process involved in acquiring the booklet.

“From what we have experienced today in interacting with the applicants … the issue is the collection of the booklet.

“Some go back many months and I wanted to see this for myself and I have seen it and we will make sure that as soon as the booklet comes, we will work day and night to print all the backlog, clear the backlog so that those who want to travel can do so,” she said.

She, however, called on applicants with emergency cases to make it known to officials in charge. This she said is because provisions have been made for such purposes.

“We have some booklet there but it is not enough to cover the full backlog that we have which is why we are not rushing that we put out weekly of a certain number until God willing around the 13th when we receive enough,” she noted.

  • SSNIT launches Mobile Service Week at Ho

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has launched its annual Mobile Service Week at Ho in the Volta Region.

The SSNIT Mobile Service (SMS) Week is an annual event that provides SSNIT branches the opportunity to pitch camp at various locations across the country to bring the services of the Trust to the doorsteps of its Members and Clients.

A total of 69 vantage locations have been selected across the 16 regions of the country to provide services to Members and Clients to enable them access the services of the Trust with ease.

Services being offered include issuance of Statements of Accounts, registration of employers and workers, benefits processing initiation, renewal of Pensioner Certificates, merging of SSNIT and NIA numbers, general enquiries about the business and operations of SSNIT among other services.

The event being observed under the theme: “You also deserve a Pension; Join SSNIT today” began today, 3rd October, 2022 and is expected to end on Friday, 7th October, 2022.

Speaking during his keynote address, the Director-General of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang, noted the theme for the occasion is borne out of the Trust’s commitment to ensure every worker in Ghana receives a decent pension.

SSNIT launches Mobile Service Week at Ho

He indicated that self-employed workers in the country constitute the largest working population but most of these workers have no social security cover and it is in their interest to register onto the Scheme and enjoy the benefits.

“We assure you of our commitment to vigorously pursue and enrol all workers especially the self-employed.  This is because the Trust recognises that the self – employed and workers in the informal sector form the majority of the 10 million or so workers in Ghana, and like their colleagues in the formal sector, they also deserve a pension”.

“The SSNIT Scheme is one of the surest ways to reduce and prevent poverty among the aged. So instead of re-echoing the misconceptions of low pensions which tend to discourage most self-employed, let’s share with them the value SSNIT provides and inform them that if their contributions or premiums are high, then their pensions will be high”, he said.

SSNIT launches Mobile Service Week at Ho

Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang further encourage everyone to support the Trust’s campaign by urging their families and friends within their circles to sign up onto the Scheme and enjoy the benefits the Scheme offers.

As part of measures to enhance service delivery, Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang noted that the Trust will soon introduce an enhanced and interactive self-service portal which will allow Members and Clients to perform a number of activities on the SSNIT’s website. These activities he said will enable employers to request, view and download Clearance Certificate, request for a negotiation meeting for outstanding debts and also allow Members to initiate registration onto the Scheme, view nominee list, check member information, initiate and track benefits application, among other activities.

“Pensioners will also be able to renew their Pensioner Certificates and view pension payment Advice. I am happy to announce that in about a week from today, members can pay their contributions using Momo and pensioners can also opt to receive their pensions through Momo (ELEVY exempt) and by close of the year, the SSNIT app will be fully functional”, he added.

SSNIT launches Mobile Service Week at Ho

In his address, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa commended Management of SSNIT for leveraging technology to make the services of the Trust more accessible to Members and Clients.

“Technology has allowed for the reduction of administrative costs associated with printing of SSNIT Cards and reduced the time pensioners have to wait to collect their first pension as they can now payment within a maximum of two weeksafter submitting their application”, he noted.

Since the beginning of the year, the Trust has been engaging stakeholders of the Scheme notably, players in the informal sector and self-employed as well as regional and district leaders of Organised Labour. The engagements formed part of deliberate efforts to extend coverage to the many self-employed workers who do not have any form of social security cover.

The SMS Week will also provide the Trust the opportunity to intensify education of Members and the public about their rights and responsibilities under the Scheme as the Trust seeks to sign-on more Members, especially, self-employed workers onto the Scheme.

    Customer Service Week

This year’s SMS also coincides with the Customer Service Week – an international celebration instituted in 1991 and observed in the first week of October. The week is commemorated to appreciate the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.

Customer Service Week is observed in the first week of October and the event is celebrated annually across the globe to place emphasis on the importance of customer service and the people who provide those services.

The celebration is aimed at raising awareness on the value of customer service, rewarding employees for the significant work outputs, improving morale at workplace and building on teamwork among other reasons.

  • Why the left breast could be bigger than the right breast

The left breast tends to be somewhat bigger than the right in the majority of women and overweight or obese men. This affects more than 60% of people on the planet. This is known as breast asymmetry in medicine.

For many women, having one breast bigger than the other is a cause of insecurity.

When the left breast is bigger than the right in terms of volume, location, or form, there is an asymmetry between the two breasts.

The scientific explanations for this occurrence are simplified below:

There are several potential reasons for breast asymmetry, some of which are detailed on Healthline.

    1. Distressing incidents.

Breast asymmetries may develop as a result of ongoing stress. Numerous scientific studies and investigations have supported this. This disorder may be brought about by witnessing a traumatic incident, such as rape, accident, murder attempt, or something much worse.

    2. Genetics

Hereditary and genetic factors can influence the size and form of a woman’s breasts. If their moms or grandmothers had uneven breasts, women likely to have uneven breasts as well.

    3. Hormone changes

According to Healthline, hormone imbalance is a significant cause of breast asymmetry. If a woman suffers abnormal changes in her hormone or estrogen levels, the form and size of one breast may vary.

    4. Increasing sexual maturity

During adolescence, it’s common for a woman’s breasts to grow asymmetrical. One breast may react to more estrogen and development more favorably than the other. In most cases, as soon as puberty begins, asymmetrical breast growth can happen in a young teenager.

Contrary to common assumptions, breast asymmetry occurs relatively frequently. As one gets older, it may become more obvious, which causes some people, especially women, to fear that it’s an indication of breast cancer. There’s no need to panic because one in three women suffer from this problem globally.

Furthermore, scientific studies and testing have demonstrated that breast asymmetries are not a sign of cancer or any other potentially dangerous illnesses.

  • Bawku Conflict: National Media Commission cautions against “weaponisation” of the media

The National Media Commission (NMC) has expressed concerns over the “increasing weaponization of the media in the Bawku conflict. “

It noted an escalation in incidences of hate speech, disinformation and incitement on radio of “a scale and scope”that posed “a clear and present danger to the Bawku community” and cautioned radio stations in the enclave to be circumspect.

A press release issued by Mr George Sarpong, Executive Secretary, NMC, said some of the cases were “closely reminiscent of the egregious misbehavior of Radio Television Libre des Mille Collines (RTLM) in the Rwandan genocide.”

It said the collective search for peace must be anchored on a proper balance between the right of radio stations to broadcast and the legitimate need of society to protect public order as envisaged under articles 162,163 and 164 of the Constitution (1992).

The Commission said, “drastic consequences attend on culpability,” and called on owners of radio stations in Bawku to adopt stronger gatekeeping measures to ensure that persons with interests in the conflict did not hijack radio stations to foment trouble.

“ Owners must be careful who they recruit as programme hosts and, which persons are invited as guests on discussion programmes. Owners must remember that they bear ultimate responsibility for whatever happens on their networks.”

It gave all owners of radio stations in the Bawku area two weeks to submit to the Commission clear measures they had put in place to ensure professionalism.

The Commission also advised media houses outside Bawku to be very circumspect in their coverage of the conflict and reminded media practitioners about the prosecution of journalists at the International Criminal Court and asked them to be guided by that.

“Ultimately, it is important for stakeholders to understand that at the core of the tension between free expression and public safety is the need to seek the public good,” the Commission said.

It said the Media Foundation for West Africa and the Ghana Independent Broadcasters’ Association had offered to assist any broadcaster in Bawku who may require assistance to review gatekeeping and professional systems and asked radio stations there to take advantage of the offer.

  • ‘Task Ofori-Atta to seek help from Seth Tekper in addressing our economic miseries’ – Gyampo to Akufo-Addo

A political scientist at the University of Ghana has asked President Akufo-Addo to order the Finance Minister to seek assistance from his predecessor in addressing the current economic hardship.

Professor Ransford Gyampo said Seth Tekper has enough knowledge that can be useful in these times.

In his view, Ken Ofori-Atta seems to be over ministerial reshuffle, a situation that keeps worsening Ghana’s economy.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, October 2, he asked the President to put the interest of the nation above all others.

“It is decidedly clear that Ken Ofori Atta is beyond ministerial reshuffle. Mr Presidnt, please task him to seek some assistance from Seth Tekper in addressing our economic miseries. For, winner-knows-all politics hasn’t been helpful,” he said.

Ghana’s economy is going through difficulties leading to hardships for Ghanaians.

The cedi has been reported by Bloomberg to be the worst-performing African currency and is also constantly depreciating against some major international currencies.

The currency has dropped by at least 35 per cent in 2022, according to Bloomberg.

Government has thus said it will fast-track negotiations with the IMF to ensure key aspects of the programme are reflected in the 2023 budget statement.

However, Mr Ofori-Atta has insisted that the economy is gradually on the upswing despite the numerous shocks it faced over the past two years.

“This progress gives us a solid foundation to confront the challenges ahead. Undoubtedly, global risks remain on the horizon, including a strengthening US dollar and higher interest rates which negatively affect external borrowing.”

“This development is exerting enormous pressure on our Balance of Payment position, and thus the need for us to expedite our engagement with the International Monetary Fund”, he mentioned at a press briefing last week.

  • MP concerned about unauthorised speed ramps

Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, Mr Isaac Ashai Odamtten, has expressed concern about unauthorised speed ramps which he said contributes to road accidents and admonished Communities to stop the construction of illegal speed ramps.

“It is erroneous to conclude that simply constructing speed ramps would automatically reduce speed and road accidents, on the contrarily, such illegal speed ramps which constitute unnecessary traffic obstruction have contributed to accidents in those communities.

“These illegal speed ramps are poorly constructed, without any warning signage to the approaching vehicle, this is a dangerous and criminal act,” Mr Odamtten stated at the Ghana News Agency Tema Regional Office and MTTD road safety campaign platform.

The GNA-Tema and MTTD Road Safety Project seeks to actively create consistent and systematic weekly awareness advocacy on the need to be cautious on the road as a user, educate all road users of their respective responsibilities, and sensitize drivers, especially on the tenets of road safety regulations, rules and laws.

Mr Odamtten explained: “If there was any form of accident in a particular jurisdiction, the community members quickly mobilise, construct speed ramps of no standard out of anger to prevent accidents.

“So, they end up putting sticks, anchor ropes, blocks, stones among others on or in the road to stop speeding and accidents this act is rather dangerous and in as much as we have to reduce speed, we also do not need to inconvenient someone using the road or get involved in acts of illegality.”

He said any act of obstruction contributes to accidents, so, “let us desist from the creation of unauthorised speed ramps in our communities.”

He said the law forbids authorised persons or groups from putting any form of objects, implements, or any form of materials which has not been sanctioned by law on the road.

According to the Tema East MP, Section 22 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 2012: “a person commits an offence if without lawful authority or reasonable excuse that person causes anything to be on or over the road.

“Interferes with motor vehicle, trailer or cycle, obstructs direct or indirectly with any traffic equipment in such circumstance it will be obvious to a reasonable person that to do so would be dangerous,” he said.

Mr Odamtten who is a former Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive entreated the various Assembly members and the committee leaders to talk to their people about the illegal speed ramps construction as it was endangering the same lives they were trying to protect.

He advised communities to go through the right channels if they want speed ramps to be constructed for them to have approved ones with signage.

Mr Francis Ameyibor, Ghana News Agency Tema Regional Manager called on community leaders to also educate the people about the proper means for crossing highways, especially communities living along the highways and motorways.

  • CPP relishes merger with PPP to ‘break the eight’

Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has called on the Progressive people’s Party (PPP) to merge with the CPP to win the 2024 general election.

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, said the eight years of “electoral football” between the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party had impoverished the populace, hence the need for a merger to ensure a return to Ghana’s development trajectory through the time-tested ideals of the CPP and PPP.

Nana Sarpong Kumankumah made the appeal in a solidarity message at the  PPP’s 10th Anniversary at Elmina in the Central Region on Saturday.

It was on the theme: “10 Years of Progressive Focus to Bring Change in Ghana’s Democratic Governance – The Way Forward.”

She restated the critical need for the CPP and PPP to lay to rest their systemic ideological differences and unite to save the country from the economic doldrums.

The CPP Chairperson regretted the internal deep-seated squabbles that led to the unfortunate exit of Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom from the party to form the PPP.

She touted Dr Nduom’s immeasurable contributions to the rank and file of the CPP and said if he were to been with CPP for the 2020 polls, the narrative could have been different.

“… But you know that the enemies of progress will go all out to ensure people who mean well for the country will not have their intentions realised,” she said.

“Nonetheless, I want my presence here to ignite the spirit of Dr Nduom, which is the same as Dr Kwame Nkrumah, for us to merge. I am asking in all humility that all members of the PPP, your intentions are noble and as to why you left, we understand. Come home!”

Nana Kumankumah added that a unified front was the only panacea to unseat the governing NPP that had “failed to meet the aspirations of Ghanaians.”

Although the CPP could not make significant strides in previous elections, the masses were calling for the return of the party into governance, but the fragmentation, wrangling, and bickering were hindering its intended mission to move forward, she said.

She expressed disappointment over the disunity and bickering within the CPP and appealed to its leading members not to sit on the fence but to support in reviving its fortunes in the 2024 polls.

“We must work hard to organise the party and eschew all personal ambitions to ensure its progress, which I strongly stand for.”

The PPP in 2013 began talks with the CPP and the Peoples National Convention (PNC) for a possible merger.

It broke away from the CPP after its leader, Dr Nduom was accused of creating disunity in the party.

The CPP, a centre-left party, formed by Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, has performed poorly in elections since the advent of the Fourth Republic.

  • Hardships, rejection can make a ‘born again secular artiste’ backslide – Chemphe

Ghanaian singer, Henry Agyekum popularly known as ‘Chemphe’, has listed some factors that usually prevent born-again secular artistes from venturing into gospel music or even disrupting their Christian faith.

He said most often, secular musicians who find Christ are compelled to go back to their old ways because either they do not feel welcomed by the gospel fraternity or in some cases, do not get billed for shows.

“When the gospel family treats such artistes with contempt and they feel they don’t belong, it is very easy for them to backslide and quickly go back to their old lifestyle. The fact that you are not accepted as a gospel musician because you were not originally one of them is enough to make you return to the world. When you don’t get shows to play at churches or gospel-related events, and you have bills to pay, the probability of you going back to secular is very high,” he stated in an interview with Daily Graphic.

“I know some musicians who are going through such challenges because our gospel colleagues who are supposed to show them the way and take them in are not doing so. It is about time Gospel musicians show love to such secular musicians who have found Christ and have decided to live their lives for Him,” he added.

The former RnB singer who has now ventured into spreading God’s word said in his case, he was fortunate to have had a lot of friends in the gospel fraternity.

“Apart from fully preparing myself to serve the Lord no matter what, I was fortunate to know a lot of Gospel musicians who were already my friends. The likes of KODA, Akesse Brempong, and Joe Mettle were very supportive when I decided to go gospel,” he said.

Asked what will make him go back to the world after almost a decade of giving his life to Christ, Chemphe said he does not see that happening.

“Nothing will make me go back to the world because I know where I am heading. I don’t look at what people say about me but the message God has for me. It might be tough at the beginning but the end is always the best. It is a great feeling to have that good relationship with God,” he remarked.

Chemphe, prior to being born again released a couple of hit songs including ‘Why you dey treat am bad’, ‘Number One’, ‘Left Over’, and others.

He currently fellowships with Empowerment Worship Centre where he serves as a junior pastor.

  • India Community in Ghana commemorates Gandhi’s 153 anniversary

The India Community in Ghana has commemorated the 153 anniversary of Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi, late leader and the foremost campaigner for India’s independence, in Accra.

The birthday of Gandhi also marks United Nations’ International Day of Non-violence, which celebrates the virtues of tolerance and togetherness expounded by the late leader.

The Indian Community convened at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, where Mr Sugandh Rajaram, Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, addressed them.

They also embarked on a 40-minute Peace Walk through some principal streets of Accra to commemorate the Day.

The Community also sanctified the statute of Mahatma Gandhi at the Centre.

The Indian High Commissioner said the Day was significant and offered lessons on peaceful coexistence among humanity expounded by the late leader.

He stressed that the virtues of peaceful living and Non-violence, which Gandhi propagated were as significant today as it was then in sustaining peace in the world.

Mr Rajaram admonished the gathering to focus on Gandhi’s teachings and be guided by them in all their dealings.

“We should be inspired by his principles of inclusion, which ensured no one was left behind and that of his advocacy for us to live lives of simplicity and contentment,” he added.

Dr Collins Yeboah-Afari, Director-General, Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, said the world was inspired by the virtues and resilience of the late leader.

“We join the world to celebrate this day and the virtues of peaceful living and non-violence expounded by Gandhi,” he stressed.

Dr Yeboah-Afari said Ghana had a strong partnership and collaboration with India, and would continue to build on it for mutual benefits.

“Ghana over the years has built a stronger friendship with India, especially in the areas of infrastructure with the Kofi Annan ICT Centre being a case in point,” he added.

Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist and political ethicist, who employed non-violent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India’s independence from British rule and inspired movements for civil rights and freedoms across the world.

  • Ghana is self-programmed to land in chaos – KSM voices

Ghanaian playwright and actor, Kweku Sintim Misa (KSM), has shared a post on social media expressing that Ghana is self-programmed to land in disarray.

According to the actor in a tweet dated October 3, 2022, a new age is rising and will fight for the confusion in the country to end.

“GHANA is SELF-PROGRAMMED to land in CHAOS. Out of these CHAOS, a NEW GENERATION WILL RISE.

“This Generation will insist that THIS NONSENSE MUST STOP. The REAL MENTAL REVOLUTION will then BEGIN. GHANA WILL THEN REGAIN HER LOST GLORY,” he posted.

One can’t tell what triggered KSM to make this post, however, one can line it up with the current government under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo rules.

It appears some Ghanaians have lost trust in the president because of the many economic hardships.

On September 24, 2022, some people booed the president at the Global Citizen Festival which took place at Independence Square in Accra.

The show had several international acts like Usher, SZA, Burna Boy, Pheelz, Oxlade, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy among many others billed to perform.

Aired live on Youtube, feeds were taken from Accra and New York before the president of Ghana mounted the stage to an angry youth unwilling to hear what he had come to say at the event.

  • Affordable housing: Government readies to roll out revised programme in November

Research conducted by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) between 1950 and 2010 revealed that the nation’s housing deficit steadily increased from one million to 2.8 million units.

The 2021 Population and Housing Census data on structures, housing conditions, and facilities as presented by the GSS showed a reversal in the housing deficit by 33 percent.

GSS believes that possible interventions happening both at the governmental and private sector levels have informed this decline in the housing deficit faced by the country.

Minister of Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye (FAB), speaking in an interview, revealed the National Revised Affordable Housing Programme to be rolled out by the ruling government in November this year, barring any hitches.

The programme seeks to support the 60 % of Ghanaians who can afford to house with support from the government.

The minister is confident the programme would be a success as compared to previous ones the country has seen under previous government as it does not only rely on government funding but partnered with private investors.

However, the first group of people to be considered are public sector workers who are on payroll.

Mr Asenso says the ministry, in collaboration with banks, has built a system where these banks would act as off-takers while these workers pay by instalments.

However, the minister noted that informal sector workers like market women and artisans would not be left behind.

Once an informal worker proves himself creditworthy, he is eligible to enrol in the programme.

“As long as you are able to prove to your banks that you have a dedicated source of income, and at the end of the month you can contribute GH¢1,000, or GH¢500, based on the requirements of the banks, you should be able to qualify for the package” he noted.

Greater Accra and the Ashanti regions would see an estimated housing unit count of about 12,000, with 8,000 in Pokuase and 4,000 in Dedesua, respectively.

Provided all plans and processes turn out well, Mr Asenso says “If we are able to expedite action on the processes, by November this year, we should be able to start construction”.

He expressed worry over the delay in the approval process of the housing programme and explained how important housing is to Ghanaians.

“I wish that the process was expeditiously executed because this housing programme is more important for Ghanaians,” he said.

Public housing developments, according to the minister, would be effective if they were managed by an implementing agency.

  • You are bound for greatness – Ya-Na eulogises Dr Bawumia

The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama II, has praised the “competence, diligence and humility” of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a man “bound for greatness”.

Speaking at the Gbewaa Palace, Yendi on Sunday, the Ya- Naa highlighted many interventions facilitated by Dr Bawumia across a broad sphere of national life since becoming the Vice President of the Republic.

The revered chief said those interventions had not only improved the lives of the people in the northern sector of the country, but the nation at large.

“Mr Vice President, your achievements cannot be mentioned without outlining your zealous contribution to complement the efforts of the President to resolve the protracted Dagbon crisis.

“Today, we have peace in Dagbon as we expected, and we owe it an obligation to appreciate your efforts in realising this feat. Dagbon is grateful to you, Alhaji Dr. Bawumia,” Ya-Na Mahama stated.

He said the exceptional humility exhibited by the Vice President was worth emulating, saying; “You make us proud for not departing from the training your elders gave you.”

He said since Dr Bawumia  occupied the second most important political seat in Ghana, he had shown sterling performance, worked very hard and made various sacrifices for the country.

“Remarkably, you have discharged and keep discharging your duties with great tolerance even when your opponents come after you and this proves your competence and how focused you are,” Ya-Na Mahama told the Vice President.

Alluding to the Vice President’s continued promotion of religious tolerance and acceptance, Ya-Na Mahama stated that Dr Bawumia had strived to ensure religious harmony.

“As a Muslim, you hold onto your faith at all times while you find it no harm to be amongst Christians and this speaks loudly about nothing but, the necessity of peace and tolerance amongst ourselves even when we disagree with each other,” he opined.

The Overlord of Dagbon also lauded the New Patriotic Party government for continuously working to bridge the development gap between the north and the south through various projects, including the setting up of the Northern Development Authority and the construction of the first-ever interchange in the north.

“Today, we can boast of countless infrastructure from roads, markets, factories, hospitals, schools, water and sanitation projects among others.

“All these were achieved through the Northern Development Authority which you were instrumental in its formulation”.

While wishing the Vice President travel mercies as he begins a tour of northern Ghana, Ya-Na Mahama urged Dr Bawumia to remain focused on improving the standards of living for the people.

“The people are keenly observing your contribution to national development and will make their voices heard at the right time.

“Your keen interest in seeing the north develop will always be remembered. I, as your father, will like you to continue to be a loyal servant of Ghana and the people of the five northern regions.

“Your reward is on the way because you are bound for greatness, my son,” Ya-Na Mahama stated.

  • Avila Naturalle targets 5,000 jobs for Ghanaians

The President of Avila Naturalle Limited, a natural body care company, Mrs Temitope Mayegun, says the company aims to create 5,000 sustainable jobs in a year for Ghanaians.

The company will offer employment to Ghanaians as distributors and retailers as well as administrative staff while providing skincare solutions to people.

Mrs Mayegun said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Saturday at the launch of Avila Naturalle Ghana.

The company is expanding its operations in West Africa with the goal of setting up a manufacturing company in Ghana over the next two years.

Avilla Naturalle Ltd produces soaps and moisturisers, which have antibacterial and antifungal properties, meant for treating skin disorders, including eczema, acne, rashes and allergies.

Mrs Mayegun said the company’s presence in Ghana was not only to introduce products into the market, but to also help people live healthy lives, and enrich people and contribute to reducing unemployment in the country.

She said: “In the next year, we’ll create 5,000 jobs in Ghana, with our long-term goal, which will not be more than two years, being to expand and establish a factory here.”

“We want to enrich lives by creating jobs for people who will distribute our products and make profit and earn commission. We’re not here [in Ghana] only to sell products, but to also help solve a lot of skin issues and enrich the lives of many Ghanaians,” she emphasised.

The President said to make the employment sustainable, they would sponsor workers abroad periodically for training in addition to a series of capacity building programmes for all workers to help them standout in the market.

She said: “The essence of Avila is to right the wrong in society by helping people use safe and natural skin care products and address the skin concerns that people have been nursing for years.”

Having received approval from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Mrs Mayegun pledged the company’s commitment to complying with all laws of the country in their operations in Ghana.

Mrs Esther Dogbe, a distributor, said: “I started using Avila products in 2019 and after finding it useful, I decided to be a distributor to help others solve their skin and bleaching issues.”

The company has set up an “experience centre” in Accra, the first in their regional operations to make people access skin care consultation services and for skin testing for solutions.

  • NPP attempting to disrupt Mahama’s record by reclassifying his projects – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dispelled claims by the New Patriotic Party that 29, instead, of the 46 E-Block projects former President John Dramani Mahama makes claims to were completed.

The NDC said the Mahama government, in its bid to enhance access to Secondary Education, awarded a total of 124 Community Day Senior High School (E-Block) projects and completed about 50 of them by December 2016, out of which 46 were personally commissioned by President Mahama.

“The handing-over notes of the former Minister of Education under the NDC/Mahama government, the venerable Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang bears out this fact.”

It further noted that each of the Community Day Senior High Schools had an ultra-Mordern library, furnished classrooms, ICT laboratory, Biology laboratory, Physics laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, General Science laboratory, a school bus for students and a pick-up vehicle for office staff among others.

The party insists that all these facilities were inspected by the President, the Chiefs, community leaders and the media during the commissioning.

“Interestingly, the first Minister of Education of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government, Mathew Opoku Prempeh is on public record to have said in 2017 that the NDC/Mahama government completed 46 Community Day Senior High Schools. This was widely reported by the media. The internet never forgets.”

“Post-facto this public admission by their own Minister of Education, the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government in a futile effort to distort the superior record of the NDC/Mahama government deceptively reclassified some completed E-Block projects as uncompleted, thereby reducing the total number to 29. This so-called reclassification was largely done on the contrived and flimsy grounds that some of the 46 completed E-blocks had no furniture even though the physical structures had been fully completed.”

“The attached document (stamped fake) being circulated by hired NPP apologists on social media is a product of this warped thinking and should be treated with utmost contempt.”

The party attached a list of Community Day Senior High Schools that were completed and/or commissioned by former President John Mahama before exiting office.

Having borrowed more monies than all governments since Nkrumah put together with very little to show for, the NPP has shamelessly resorted to plain sophistry to distort the sterling and superior record of the visionary Nation Builder, H.E John Dramani Mahama.

He posits that President John Dramani Mahama stands tall relative to his record of investments not only in educational infrastructure, but in all sectors of the country.

“And no amount of lies can change this fact.”

  • Patapaa has a talent of making hit songs; he is unique – Flowking Stone

Rapper Flowking Stone says actors and players in the music industry should encourage diversity and not look down on musicians perceived to be unprofessional or not talented.

He contended that each singer or rapper is endowed with unique skills and potentials that make the sector very dynamic and attractive.

For instance, he cited Patapaa as one musician the country should not belittle because “he has some type of talent.”

Flowking Stone indicated that any attempt to describe the ‘One Corner’ hitmaker as untalented would be incorrect because, at least, he is well versed in producing hit songs that mostly go viral.

“People, for instance, say that Patapaa doesn’t have a talent and all that; no [that is not true]. Before a song can blow to that level, it means he has some type of talent. It could be marketing, it could be knowing how to make a hit song, [and] that’s a talent.

Patapaa has a talent of making hit songs; he is unique – Flowking Stone
Flowking Stone [left] and KMJ, host of Prime Morning on the Joy Prime channel

“Yes, because if his song went that far, then he knows something, it just didn’t happen that he blew. So, there is a talent somewhere,” he told KMJ in an interview on Prime Morning on Monday.

Born Kwaku Nsia Boama, Flowking Stone noted that musicians should embrace one another and appreciate how each one of them contributes to the growth of the industry.

“… the fact that I feel I put a lot of depth to my lyricism, I can’t look down on him, no. He also has something that comes from a different angle.

“Maybe when they play my song, people will dance a certain way but maybe when they play his song, it will hype the party a certain way. We need all that.”

  • Theatre lovers thrilled with Nii Commey’s ‘Skirts and suits’ play

The GNAT Hall’s Bediako Hall was filled with joy and laughter last Saturday as a cross-section of Ghanaians were thrilled with the captivating Nii Commey Handwriting Play dubbed: ‘Skirts and suits.’

The play, which MTN Ghana sponsored and helped stage, was performed to honour this year’s International Customer Service Week.

A night of immersive corporate stage dramedy was presented to thousands of theatre enthusiasts by the storytelling hub Handwriting Communications.

The story of angels and demons, of customer experience, interlaced with spicy corporate nonsense, knee-slapping, untamed characters a touch of the feminine spirit and masculine ego.

The play focused primarily on what happens in an organisation in regard to customer service.

The play is a standard depiction of the comings and goings in a conventional corporate setting, with strong customer service underpinnings.

In Skirts and Suits, the contemporary corporate office was the point of action of all the drama that happens daily, with an urban fusion of exciting characters occupying the roles of customers, employers, customer service people, and the entire workforce who interface with the organisation.

The story clearly exposes the good, the bad, and the ugly that happen in a typical office. What is more thrilling is the chronicling of the contemporary corporate woman and the vicissitudes that stare at them: the opportunities, and the temptations, power, position, and romance.

It was a night for service providers, corporate Ghana, and all who are customers in one way or the other. Patrons are being entreated to be expectant of something unusual.

Nii Commey Handwriting has, over the years, plopped the seats of theatre lovers with his timeless plays such as “Romantic Nonsense”, “My Name is Romance,” and “Where Two or More Women are Gathered.”

Handwriting Communications is an indigenous storytelling hub based in Accra, dedicated to using experiential storytelling tools for communication, education, and entertainment.
