Dennis praised Drake’s latest album, “For All the Dogs,” describing it as some of the best music he has heard from his son.

Drake responded with gratitude, saying, “Thanks Dad… I was so happy you loved it.”

  • Stating your vision is taking you too long – Kabila to Bawumia

Stating your vision is taking you too long – Kabila to Bawumia

The former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bonfeh, popularly known as Kabila, has publicly challenged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to reveal his vision for Ghana’s future, ahead of the 2024 general elections.

In an interview on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning Show, Kabila said it was important for Dr. Bawumia to articulate his vision and priorities to the Ghanaian people, as the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said Dr. Bawumia had promised to disclose his vision after securing the flagbearer ship position, but had failed to do so, even though more than two months had elapsed since his victory.

“Dr. Bawumia, after attaining the flagbearer ship position, you promised to disclose your vision for the country. Vision doesn’t require much. Today is January 17, and between November 4 and January 17 is too long a time not to have stated that vision,” he said.

He urged Dr. Bawumia to be transparent and accountable to the electorate, and not to take them for granted.

He also questioned Dr. Bawumia’s economic credentials, saying he had not delivered on his promises to transform the economy and improve the living standards of Ghanaians.

Kabila said the NPP government had mismanaged the economy, increased the debt burden, and failed to tackle corruption and unemployment.

James Kwabena Bonfeh said the CPP was ready to offer a credible alternative to the NPP and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which he accused of being two sides of the same coin.

He said the CPP had a vision of social justice, economic independence, and national sovereignty, inspired by the legacy of its founder, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

He called on Ghanaians to rally behind the CPP and its flagbearer, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, in the 2024 elections.

Dr. Bawumia is yet to respond to Kabila’s challenge.

Dr. Bawumia, an economist and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, emerged as the NPP flagbearer after a keenly contested primary on November 4, 2023.

He defeated four other candidates, including former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, with 61.43 percent of the valid votes cast.

He is expected to face former President John Mahama, who is seeking a comeback on the ticket of the NDC, and other candidates from smaller parties and independent platforms, in the 2024 presidential race.

The general elections will be held in Ghana on December 7, 2024, to elect the president and members of parliament.

Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo’s term-limited and thus ineligible to run again.

I was nearly raped in SHS – Diana Hamilton reveals

Diana Antwi Hamilton, a Ghanaian gospel singer, recounted her near-rape experience during senior high school (SHS).

She said that the horrible occurrence happened at an inter school competition (INTERCO) in her first year at Ghana National College.

Diana recalled how, as an innocent young lady, her school mother had intentionally lured her out to a few boys.

“In my first year at Ghana National during an Interco, my school mother asked me to follow some guys to take her biscuits. I did and by the time I realised, one was in front of me and the other behind, they put me in a car. The next thing I knew I was somewhere in Cape Coast, Kotokraba,” she narrated in an interview with Accra-based TV3.

The 2021 VGMA Artiste of the Year said that it took “the doing of the Lord” to save her from that traumatic situation.

“It took God to grant me the courage to tell upper sixth formers that I would not enter the house. Right at the entrance of the door sat a woman who was feeding her goats and she didn’t say a word, all she did was sit there and watch.
For hours, had that woman left, they would have dragged me in and I don’t know what would have happened,” she said.

Diana Hamilton is currently promoting her new song ‘The doing of the Lord’ featuring Nigerian gospel star, Mercy Chinwo.

Diana Antwi Hamilton is a Ghanaian gospel musician with several awards to her name.

Mohbad left no will – Management clears air

Management of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad has issued a response to the recent claims made by the late Nigerian singer’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, regarding the alleged discovery of a will thumbprint by his son before his untimely death.

In a recent interview with TVC, Mr. Joseph Aloba expressed surprise and scepticism over the purported will left by his 26-year-old son, questioning the rationale behind drafting such a document at such a young age.

He further raised concerns about the absence of a signature on the will, noting that it was solely thumb printed by Mohbad.

Mr. Aloba also recounted an unusual encounter with a lawyer, rather than a doctor, when he visited his son’s residence after the singer’s demise, hinting at potential discrepancies in the creation of the will.

According to him, they scrutinised the document, engaging in what he referred to as ‘mathematics’ on its authenticity.

Contrary to these claims, Mohbad’s management has now responded through an official statement posted on the late singer’s previously inactive Instagram page.

They categorically denied the existence of any will and stressed that, if there were one, it would have been reported to the probate registry.

The statement also revealed that all of Mohbad’s bank accounts have been frozen since his passing and will remain so until internal disputes are resolved.
In addressing the matter of the autopsy, the management confirmed that the procedure had been conducted.

However, they noted that the results from the samples sent abroad would take several months before being made available for public disclosure.

Kojo Antwi, “Mr. Music Man,” voices concerns over deteriorating state of Ghana’s event venues

Renowned Ghanaian musician, Kojo Antwi, known as “Mr. Music Man,” has expressed his dissatisfaction with the condition of event organizing centers in the country, citing poor maintenance and management.

Kojo Antwi emphasizes the need for proper structures to ensure that venues are suitable for hosting significant events.

The celebrated highlife artist particularly highlighted the deteriorating state of the National Theatre, describing it as lacking proper infrastructure.

Antwi revealed that these issues have led him to change venues for his events to meet the expectations of his fans.

Despite the National Theatre being the traditional venue for Kojo Antwi’s December 24 concert since its inception in 1991, recent years have seen a shift to various locations such as the Accra International Conference Centre, Kempinski Hotel, Accra Mall, and Labadi Beach Hotel.

This year, the event took place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), bypassing the National Theatre once again.

In a recent interview with Onua FM, Kojo Antwi reminisced about the initial allure of the National Theatre for his concert but noted that the charm had faded due to inadequate maintenance.

“The place has fallen short of being a theatre, and maintaining it has become challenging for those responsible. As an artist, I don’t feel confined to a specific venue,” Kojo Antwi stated.

He expressed the challenges faced by those responsible for maintaining the venue and asserted that, as an artist, he doesn’t feel confined to a specific location.

Antwi used a metaphor, comparing artists to glasses that can outgrow their containers as their ideas expand.

“I did many avant-garde things, but an artist doesn’t belong to a hall. I realized that the place wasn’t facilitating my growth, so I had to make a move.”

He concluded by asserting  that the National Theatre was no longer conducive to his creative needs, emphasizing the importance of a venue that facilitates growth for artists.

Gov’t cancelling the Convention was God’s will – Cheddar

Renowned figure and leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, has expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the cancellation of the New Convention event which was slated to take place on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Black Star Square.

Cheddar recently made a significant appearance at Perez Dome to express his gratitude and thanksgiving.

Having been a dedicated member of the Perez Dome community for 21 years, Cheddar highlighted the importance of his faith and the influence of God in his life.

Despite facing unexpected challenges, including the cancellation of New Convention event due to “unforeseen” circumstances, an event scheduled to take place at the Black Star square, he emphasized that every prayer he directed towards God had been answered.

“ I started fasting the first day of the year, I do it at the beginning of the year, with the church and by myself, so I was praying that let the Convention be successful so that it can reach Africans but I want to tell you this, everything I have asked God he has giving it to me.

“So I was expecting more and just an hour before the event I was told the event was cancelled with helicopters and with men, guns and soldiers, you can’t fight this one you have to step back.

“I went back to God to ask, I thought you said you were going to make the event successful but he said God meant for the event to be cancelled for the event to be successful,” Cheddar stated.

The Convention was to bring together thought leaders in Africa including Professor PLO Lumumba, Peter Obi, Julius Malema, and others to speak on key challenges confronting Africa’s development.

Hours after the cancellation, the leaders of the Convention organized a press conference at Cantonments.

Professor PLO Lumumba said, “We came to Ghana to share a message of hope that Africa needs at this time and there is no better place to begin that message than Accra Ghana.

“It is in Accra that Osageyefo Kwame Nkrumah almost 67 years ago, spoke to the world and said the ‘Independence of Ghana is meaningless until it is linked with the independence of the African continent’”.

He said 67 years later, they were congregating in Accra in the very same place where the founding fathers of Ghana stood to make that statement but they were stopped bizarrely.

Professor PLO Lumumba, however, said, “The message will be served” as the journey of hope “continues with the youth.”

NPP Youth Organizer worried about 18 MPs leaving parliament

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organizer, Mustapha Salam, has expressed discontent about the decision of 18 NPP Members of Parliament (MPs) not to run for re-election in the next parliamentary elections, describing it as a substantial loss for the state.

In an exclusive interview on Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo,” Salam attributed the mass exits to intense demands and pressure from constituents within their respective constituencies. He shed light on the challenging circumstances faced by MPs, revealing that many resort to using pressure pills to cope with the stress.

“The pressure on MPs and the political class is not easy. If you run a background check on them, you will realise that a lot are depending on pressure pills,” Mustapha Salam stated. He emphasized the need for a holistic national conversation to address the substantial demands placed on politicians in fulfilling their duties.

“Constituents often drop by residents of his MPs to demand for monies and other forms of demands,” he added, highlighting the difficulties politicians face in balancing their parliamentary duties and personal lives.

Among the notable MPs not seeking re-election in 2024 are Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Joe Osei Owusu, Atta Akyea, Joe Ghartey, and Ken Agyapong, among others. The departure of these prominent figures is expected to create a void in the party’s leadership and parliamentary representation.

The reasons behind the MPs’ decision to step down remain unclear, leading to speculation that retirements, pursuit of other professional opportunities, or a desire for a break from the demanding nature of parliamentary life may be contributing factors. Internal dynamics within the NPP and personal considerations are also being considered as potential influencers in their decision-making process.

Salam’s call for a national conversation on the challenges faced by politicians reflects a growing concern for the well-being of those in public service, as the political landscape undergoes significant changes with the departure of key figures within the NPP.

In an interview with her colleague in the film business, Biola Adebayo, Olaide Oyedeji said that although some had criticised her for daughter’s death (Sudan), she had not been affected.

Innovative Nigerian woman showcases well-furnished zinc-built home, ignites online debate

In a surprising revelation, a Nigerian woman, identified as @giftvitaliss, has captivated internet users by sharing images of her residence constructed entirely with zinc.

The interior of her meticulously furnished apartment, posted on the X platform, has sparked a heated discussion online.

The shared images feature a neatly arranged single-room flat constructed from zinc, typically used for roofing.

The entire apartment boasts tiled floors, and the kitchen is thoughtfully organized with essential appliances.

While some online observers were astonished by the ingenuity of using zinc for construction, others raised concerns about the practicality of such a dwelling, particularly in the current hot weather.

Critics argue that the zinc structure may result in an uncomfortable living environment due to increased heat and the perceived low durability of zinc.

Suggestions were made that using wood might have been a more suitable alternative, as zinc tends to generate heat and unpleasant sounds during rainfall.

This unconventional housing choice has stirred a debate among netizens, with opinions divided on the feasibility and sustainability of a zinc-built home in a tropical climate.

Chef Faila’s story extends beyond the kitchen, as she is a renowned musician in the northern part of Ghana, performing under the stage name Jah Bless Faila. Her musical repertoire includes impactful songs advocating for peace and development in the region.

The chef’s rise to fame sparked an old interview, now viral, shed light on her humble beginnings and a life-changing encounter with Ibrahim Mahama, the brother of former President John Dramani Mahama and a prominent Ghanaian businessman.

Recalling the pivotal moment, Chef Faila narrated how renowned Ghanaian businessman and brother of former President John Dramani Mahama; Ibrahim Mahama, changed her life.

According to her, she “was nothing, had nothing” when a friend encouraged her to go and meet Ibrahim Mahama.

“This is the first time I’m saying this on air and I’m telling you for a fact that the very day I met Ibrahim Mahama… John Mahama’s, Ibrahim Muhammad. Look, I was just an ordinary girl from Tamale, a local girl. I remember that very day, we were fasting. We were actually in the fasting season. I was fasting.

“I had fasted on that day and we were just about to break our fast when one of my male friends called me and told me that Faila, ‘I heard that Ibrahim Mahama has come and he’s at Garba Lodge. You are doing very well with your music. It’s just that you don’t have support. I want you to try and go to him by yourself. Go and tell that man to support you’,” she narrated in an interview with Prince Hamdan.

The now-renowned Chef Faila then went on to narrate how she gathered confidence to approach Ibrahim Mahama despite the security around him.

“I confidently started walking straight towards the man. All of a sudden, the security pounced on me. Why are you going? Come back. Come back. But I kept moving, so they rushed to come and hold me back. Then the man did this (a sign) and said, leave her.

“When I got closer to the man after the security left me, he was going for dinner and they had called for prayers for us to break our fast. So, he said,’… let’s go and have dinner together’. This is something if somebody told me that my whole life, I could get such an opportunity I wouldn’t believe,” she said.

“You’re 30; If I date you, I become your sugar mummy”- Delay replies Freezy Macbones

Ghanaian boxer Freezy Macbones publicly professed his admiration for media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, also known as Delay, during an interview on the Delay show.

Grinning broadly, the Ghanaian boxer disclosed that he had been eagerly awaiting the chance to speak with the prominent Ghanaian personality.

The UK-based Ghanaian boxer’s appearance on “The Delay Show” took an unexpected twist when the host (Delay) subtly hinted at his age, playfully suggesting that dating him might turn her into his sugar mummy.

Delay said, “You’re 30. If I date you, I become your sugar mummy, I’m just saying.”

When asked if losing to opponents younger than him had anything to do with the fact that he was thirty years old at the time, Freezy shot back that it didn’t.

He said: “In my amateur days, it was simple: knock my opponent out, or I lose. That’s the essence of my unique style. I experienced a tough stretch, losing five consecutive fights out of eighteen. Despite the setbacks, I emerged victorious in fourteen or thirteen of them. If I had given up, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Every loss was accompanied by tears because I knew, back in the gym, I trained harder than anyone else.”

Seizing the moment to express his admiration once again, Macbones asked Delay if she had any concerns about their age difference. Playfully, Delay responded, “About what?” to which Macbones clarified, “About being older than me,” leading to shared laughter between them.

Earlier in the interview, Macbones had openly declared his desire to marry Delay, expressing his amazement at being on the show and sharing the conversations he had with others about his intentions. He had stated that meeting Delay was part of God’s plan and that he had consistently informed others, including Sister Denta, that he would marry no one but Delay.

“I can’t believe I’m seated right in front of you,” exclaimed Macbones before he disclosed the communications he has had with people about marrying her. “You can ask Sister Denta; I’ve always told her that I won’t marry anyone except you. Meeting you is all part of God’s plan.”

The movie producer discussed her two failed marriage incidents and shares more on her latest new movie “A tribe of Judah.”

“If you don’t fail, you can’t be successful. You have to keep trying. Like when a child is trying to walk, the child will walk small and just fall off. So it’s normal for you to fall but you just have to pick yourself and rise again.
For me, I see failure, I see challenges, I see obstacles, as part of life. My mum raised me like that. My mum will say if you do not fail, if you do not fall, you cannot succeed so you have to keep going and note, I do not even see the failures,” Funke Akindele stated in an interview on Wazobia.

Regarding her marriage, Funke clarified that she values her children, profession, and mental well-being more than any relationship she may have with a man.

She said that she will not dwell on her past mismatched marriages because her intention is to uplift and motivate a large number of individuals.

My career is very important, darling. I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children and my siblings. Why am I living? I have a purpose, so my head is up. Yes I cry, yes I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say “Keep moving,” Funke stressed.
