Apostle Lilian Kumah, the widow of the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu constituency, John Ampontuah Kumah, has reportedly filed a police complaint against Captain Smart, the host of the Onua TV morning show.
This action follows the untimely passing of the MP while en route from Kumasi to Accra for medical treatment in Germany for an undisclosed ailment.
Shortly after his demise, videos from a recent episode of Captain Smart’s show resurfaced on social media.
In these videos, the journalist alleged that the MP and several prominent members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been victims of food poisoning.
He specifically mentioned that the MP and NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, had suffered from food poisoning a few weeks prior.
According to reports from Asaaseradio.com, the late MP’s wife believes these claims by the journalist are baseless and are tarnishing the reputation of her husband and his family.
Consequently, she has urged the police to request evidence and substantiation from Captain Smart regarding his assertions concerning her husband’s demise.
