In a bid to enhance their goal-scoring capabilities, Manchester United has compiled a list of four attacking players they are considering signing in the January transfer window, as reported by The Athletic.
The highlighted players on United’s radar include Bayern Munich’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thomas Müller, RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, and the in-form Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.
The intention is to provide additional support to their recent acquisition, striker Rasmus Højlund, who has struggled with only one goal in 15 Premier League appearances.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, the existing options, have also faced challenges in goal production.
However, financial constraints are reportedly limiting United’s ability to make signings promptly as they await funding approval from new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Ineos group.
Considering Bayern’s interest in Guirassy, Choupo-Moting and Müller emerge as potentially affordable short-term solutions.
Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho’s departure from United seems imminent, with talks of a loan deal to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season in progress.
West Ham United had previously shown interest, but Dortmund is now the front-runner for Sancho’s return, where he aims to rejuvenate his career after a successful stint in the Bundesliga.
