  • Three Africans held captive by Hamas – Israel

Three Africans held captive by Hamas – Israel

Hamas is reportedly holding two Tanzanian individuals and one South African individual captive as stated by the Israeli government. This happened after the attacks in Israel on 7 October.

None of the three have been given a name.

The ambassador of Tanzania to Israel has said that two people from Tanzania have been captured, or taken hostage.

The BBC talked to the father of a Tanzanian person who went missing in Israel. This person’s name is Joshua Mollel and he was studying agriculture on a kibbutz that was attacked.

He said to the BBC that he still hasn’t heard any news about what happened to his son.

Earlier this week, he mentioned that they had not talked since October 5th – just two days before the attack. He also mentioned that the entire family was extremely worried.

“He said on Sunday that we are unable to eat or sleep. When I go to the market, people inquire about the reason behind my significant weight loss. ”

The people in charge in South Africa have not said anything about the report that someone from their country is one of the hostages.

Israel has stated that people from 25 different countries are currently being held by Hamas.

A total of 135 out of the 224 individuals being held are from Thailand. Thailand has the highest number, with 54 individuals.

They were captured when members of Hamas, which many countries consider a terrorist group, entered Israel from Gaza and killed around 1,400 individuals.

Israel has responded by attacking Gaza with airstrikes. The health ministry run by Hamas claims that these attacks have caused the deaths of nearly 6,500 people.

  • Israel wants to get rid of Hamas but how?

Israel wants to get rid of Hamas but how?

The Israelis are extremely shocked and deeply affected by the killings that happened on October 7th.

They all pretty much agree on getting rid of Hamas as an enemy.

Another question to consider is how and when this is accomplished.

I believe more and more people are saying that since four hostages have already been released and Qataris are helping with negotiations, there is a possibility that around 50 more people might be set free. Because of this, they think Israel can take its time and not rush into any decisions.

Netanyahu, being in charge of a country during a war, is a very stressful job. He is dealing with more pressure because he is leading a country that is split and divided even before all of this happened.

So, even though Israelis are coming together to support their flag and agree that they need to remove Hamas, they are not fully supporting Benjamin Netanyahu.

Yes – he has a group of loyal supporters. However, there are some people who strongly believe that he is a big part of the issue – that he caused division in the country while trying to achieve his own goals related to the West Bank area and maintaining his position of power.

He has been accused of doing very bad things that could make him go to jail. His enemies believe that Netanyahu does everything to protect himself politically, and that everything leading up to the invasion is focused on him and Israel.

Israeli tanks enter Gaza during purported ‘targeted raid’

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a planned attack last night in northern Gaza using tanks.

Israel has not started its planned ground attack on Gaza yet, but they mentioned that the recent raid was to get ready for future battles.

Israel says it has bombed 250 places belonging to Hamas in the last day. However, a person from the UN who helps with humanitarian issues says that nowhere in Gaza is safe.

The organization responsible for helping Palestinians, the UN agency, discovered more fuel on Wednesday. However, they also mentioned that there is not much fuel left in Gaza and it may run out soon.

The health ministry in Gaza, which is led by Hamas, says that nearly 6,500 individuals have died since October 7th.
Over 1,400 people died in the first attacks on Israel by Hamas, and there are still over 200 people being held as hostages in Gaza.

I denounce the heinous and unparalleled attacks carried out by Hamas – Guterres

The leader of the United Nations says he strongly condemns the terrible and unprecedented terrorist acts carried out by Hamas in Israel on October 7th.

Guterres said that he strongly disagrees with the deliberate harming or kidnapping of innocent people. He also condemns the act of firing rockets at civilians.

He continues to say, “Yes, I talked about the problems the Palestinian people have. ”

“I made it very clear when I said, and I repeat: ‘However, the complaints of the Palestinian people cannot excuse the terrible attacks carried out by Hamas’. ”

  • President of Turkey refers to Hamas as ‘liberation group’

President of Turkey refers to Hamas as ‘liberation group’

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, called Hamas a group that fights to protect its land, which will likely anger Israel.

Hamas, including its military branch, is considered a terrorist organization by Israel, the US, the EU, the UK, and other countries.

Over 1,400 people died when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th. The majority of those killed were innocent civilians living in communities near the Gaza border.

Erdogan gave a strong speech in Turkey’s parliament and said he would no longer go to Israel.

He said he met the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and that Netanyahu had taken advantage of Turkey’s kindness.

Last month, the two leaders met at a meeting in New York organized by the United Nations. This meeting was seen as an important indication that their countries are getting along better.

  • We attacked Hamas because they erected roadblocks to prevent Gazans from fleeing – IDF

We attacked Hamas because they erected roadblocks to prevent Gazans from fleeing – IDF

We just received news from Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari. He claims that Hamas has created barriers on the roads to prevent people from leaving the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Hagari says Israel removed the roadblocks at night “so that people can leave the area”.

During a daily meeting with reporters, Hagari spoke directly to people in northern Gaza. He wanted to tell them that Hamas and its leaders are taking advantage of them. They are using their houses, schools, and hospitals, as well as hiding in underground places, near schools and hospitals.

Earlier this month, Israel told people in northern Gaza to go to the south. However, attacks on southern regions, like the city of Khan Younis, have not stopped.

Hagari was also asked if the IDF was getting ready to possibly attack Iran by air.

He said that Iran is causing problems in the Middle East and that we need to always stay alert. However, he mentioned that they are currently focused on the fighting in Gaza.

Israeli military claims to have killed Hamas divers trying to enter Israel from the sea

The Israeli military released a video showing Hamas divers trying to sneak into a place yesterday.

The Israel Defense Forces have stated that two members of Hamas tried to enter Israel by sea near Zikim, which is located just north of the Gaza Strip. They entered a beach in Gaza through a tunnel before attempting to access Israel.

They died because fighter jets and soldiers from Israel’s navy attacked them. The attack also destroyed a place where the bad guys kept their weapons.

The IDF did not say how this attempted sea invasion happened, but they released a video that shows attacks on the water’s surface.

After the IDF gave an update, Hamas’s military group shared a picture on Telegram. The image showed two men wearing scuba diving gear and holding assault rifles.

How has Israel responded to most recent bombings?

Officials from the Palestinian health ministry in the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Hamas, say that over 430 people have died since yesterday morning.

Israel continued to launch missiles and drop bombs yesterday and throughout the night. This morning, pictures showed families standing near buildings that have been destroyed and turned into pieces, and injured people lying on the road near hospitals.

This morning, the Israeli army said it attacked around 320 places in the last day. These places included a tunnel where Hamas fighters were hiding and lookout posts.

The IDF claims that it obeys rules from other countries and tries to reduce harm to civilians as much as possible.

Israeli officials claim to have ‘thwarted’ two Hamas drones

We have new information about the two drones that Hamas said they had sent to southern Israel earlier.

The Israeli military says that they spotted and stopped two small flying machines, called drones, that flew over from the Gaza Strip into Israel. This happened near the border of Gaza in the areas known as Nir Oz and Ein HaBesor.

It didn’t say how the drones were stopped or if they were shot down.

In another report, the Israel Defense Forces stated that they successfully stopped a drone that had entered Israel from Lebanon. Once again, not much information was provided.

Israeli family held hostage by Hamas causes sadness among relatives

Israel has reported that 222 individuals are being held captive in Gaza after the attacks carried out by Hamas on 7 October.

Yarden Bibas, his wife Shiri, and their two children, four-year-old Ariel and nine-month-old Kfir, were taken away from Nir Oz, a community in southern Israel.

Yarden’s sister, Ofri Bibas Levy, told the BBC that their family was hiding in a safe room when her brother sent a message in their family Whatsapp group saying “here we go again. ” They thought it was a rocket attack from Gaza.

Afterwards, a friend sent her a video of the family being taken by force, with Shiri holding her children.

Ofri says she was very scared, more scared than she has ever been before.

Three days later, she got pictures of her brother with a wound on his head and it looked like someone was holding a hammer. Two weeks later, Ofri still doesn’t know what happened to the family.

Pictures of horrific Israeli nursery attack depict blood and bullet holes

Pictures of a school in Israel were taken after an attack where Hamas fighters killed at least 100 people. The pictures show pools of blood and gun clips scattered among the children’s toys.

The pictures show the damage to a school for young children caused by a terrorist attack that led to a lot of fighting in the area last weekend.

Stay updated on the Israel-Hamas conflict by following our live coverage.

In one picture, there is a small pink bike and scooter among all the mess of things that were left behind at the school.

Hamas attacked and entered houses in the Israeli kibbutz called Be’eri, which is located four miles away from the Gaza Strip, on October 7.

People were trapped and unable to leave their homes while many people were hurt or killed soon after the fighting started last weekend.

The safe neighborhood was torn apart when scared moms and kids tried to hide and run away from the damage.
In another picture, there are holes from bullets on a white wall in a nursery. Two bikes that belong to children are also on the ground.

Some parts of the ceiling in the Israeli school are hanging down and there are teaching tools on the desks.

An Israeli soldier said to the Sun newspaper, “There are many bad things hidden in this place, and unfortunately, we are discovering more of them every day. ”

“Many kids lost their lives here, and some were badly hurt. ”

Volunteers have been searching through the wreckage and destroyed houses, looking for people who are still alive and trying to find out the truth about what really occurred during the attack.

The Israeli military shared a video showing when armed fighters entered houses, holding guns and scaring families.

In a video, security cameras inside the kibbutz recorded Hamas members getting into the community.
Security cameras captured footage of terrorists trying to sneak underneath the gates at the entrance.

When their first plan didn’t work, it seems like they tried to hide until a car came close, and then they attacked and killed the people inside. After that, they simply walked into the area.

A video shows the militants leaving the area from the same gate more than an hour later.

Be’eri was the home of Lianne Sharabi, who was born in Britain. She lived there with her daughters Yahel and Noiya, and her husband Eli.

Lianne and her 13-year-old daughter Yahel were murdered by soldiers from Hamas in the attack.
In the beginning of the fighting, a group on the messaging app WhatsApp called Be’eri mum recorded what was happening. Parents were scared as they shared messages about armed people going to each house in the area and knocking on the doors.

Parents made a group with about 200 members. They used this group to tell other parents about the attacks and to give tips on how to keep safe by locking their rooms.

During a conversation, someone asked if there is something that can make us feel less worried. Very quickly, a neighbor replied and explained how the army could deal with the situation.

  • At least 1,873 children killed in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in two weeks

At least 1,873 children killed in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in two weeks

In the past two weeks, there have been Israeli airstrikes on Gaza that resulted in the death of at least 4,651 people. Out of those deaths, 40% were children.

Gaza’s health ministry gave new numbers of people who have died and been injured. They said that 14,245 people have been hurt, and 70% of them are children and women.

Israel attacked Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon during the night and today as the fighting in the area continues for three weeks.

Warplanes attacked places in the trapped Strip and a religious place in the occupied West Bank that is believed to be used by Hamas fighters. They also targeted two airports in Syria.

An Israeli military spokesperson said that Israel is going to have more attacks on Gaza and start a new phase of the war.

In the past few hours, the Israeli military claimed that they attacked a place in Jenin, in the West Bank, believed to be a terrorist hideout. It was reported that a group affiliated with Hamas was inside a mosque at the compound.

Palestinians were told to move from the northern part of Gaza to the southern part.

Israel has been close to starting a ground attack in Gaza for a few days now, as a way to react to Hamas’ violent actions.

Many tanks and a large number of soldiers have gathered at the demarcation line between territories that are occupied. The leaders have talked about a future phase of actions, but they have not given specific details about it.

  • Nine Britons have died in Hamas attack on Israel

Nine Britons have died in Hamas attack on Israel

Based on the prime minister‘s spokesperson, Hamas’s assault on Israel has resulted in the deaths of nine individuals from Britain.

Seven more people are still not found after the attack from Gaza into Israel on October 7.

Until yesterday, the authorities said that seven people from Britain were confirmed dead, and nine were still missing.

A person who speaks for the prime minister said: ‘We can now say for certain that at least nine people from Britain were sadly killed in the terrorist attacks last week.

Seven more British people cannot be found. Some of them might be dead or taken by force.

The UK government has not said how many British people are being held as hostages by Hamas. However, Rishi Sunak, while he was in Israel on Thursday, met two families who have a loved one being kept captive in Gaza.

  • Israel-Hamas conflict could spread to the Middle East – Sunak

Israel-Hamas conflict could spread to the Middle East – Sunak

Rishi Sunak stated that the actions done by Hamas are terrible, and there is no good reason for them. He said this while a large number of people were protesting in central London against Israel’s restriction of movement in the Gaza Strip.

The prime minister came back from a very fast tour of the Middle East where he had urgent discussions with the leaders of Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt about how to stop the situation from getting worse and war from happening.

He emphasized that the fighting between Israel and Hamas could lead to more conflicts in the surrounding area.
The Prime Minister said that everyone they talked to this week strongly believes that we must do everything we can to prevent a spreading conflict in the area.

‘We should continue to aim for a future with peace and stability as we unite against terrorism. ‘

He left just as President Biden announced that President Sisi of Egypt agreed to open the Rafah crossing so that 20 trucks of aid could enter Gaza.

Sunak said that the opening represented what is possible through diplomacy.

He said: ‘The opening of the Rafah crossing into Gaza shows how diplomacy can work, with the US, Israel, and Egypt making an agreement to make sure that essential help gets to the Palestinian people. ‘

We are working closely with Egypt to make sure that the UK helps provide Palestinians with the important things they urgently require, such as food, water, and medicine.

The Prime Minister and the foreign secretary both went on separate trips to Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar at the same time.

James Cleverly said that he wants British people currently stuck in Gaza to be able to leave by using the Rafah crossing. He acknowledged that it is currently not safe for them to do this.

‘At the end, we want the Rafah crossing to be safe enough so that people from other countries in Gaza can go away,’ he said to the Sunday Times.

We will only call British citizens forward to leave Gaza when we are sure they will have enough time to leave safely. But right now, we are not able to do so.

He mentioned that they were working closely with the Egyptian government, Qataris, and other countries in the area, like Israel, to create a stable situation for a considerable period of time. This stability would allow British citizens to have a real chance of leaving the region safely.

  • Two US hostages, mother and daughter released by Hamas

Two US hostages, mother and daughter released by Hamas

Hamas let go of two American captives who were taken during their attack on Israel.

Israel said they accepted mother and daughter Judith and Natalie Raanan from Hamas at the Gaza border.

The two people were released by Hamas because of their compassionate nature.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, expressed great happiness about their freedom and mentioned that he had talked to the Raanan family on the phone.

These people were the first to be let go after the attackers invaded Israel on October 7th. The attackers killed 1,400 people and took about 200 hostages.

Palestinian leaders say that over 4,000 individuals have died in Gaza due to continuous attacks from Israel.
Brigadier General Gal Hirsch and IDF members collected the two hostages from Hamas at the border of the Palestinian area on Friday evening, according to the Israeli prime minister’s office.

The Raanans were brought to a military base in the middle of the country, where their family members were already waiting, according to the Prime Minister’s office.

The mom and daughter were at a place called Kibbutz Nahal Oz in southern Israel. They were taken away by force during an attack by Hamas.
The mother is 59 years old and her daughter is 17 years old. They both live in Evanston, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago. The daughter has just finished high school.

Natalie’s half-brother, Ben Raanan, told the BBC that he felt extremely thankful for the many people from all over the world who have been thinking about and praying for his sister. He mentioned that people from different religions and beliefs have shown their support.

Natalie’s uncle, Avi Zamir, said the family was very happy.

Evanston Rabbi Meir Hecht was very happy when he spoke to the BBC. He said that the Jewish community in the area felt very excited and happy. He also mentioned that since the people were released, he has been receiving many phone calls non-stop.

Rabbi Hecht said that we are very thankful to God for this miracle. He also mentioned that we still feel very sad for the hostages who are still there.
    “Caption with media”

The leader of the church where the hostages were freed says the community is thankful.

At a gathering in Evanston on Friday night, close friend Yehudis Hecht said that Judith and the others were living a terrible life after hearing that they were taken by Hamas.

“She said that we hope they recover quickly from everything they went through, and we are praying for the safety of Israel and for all the hostages to come back safely. ”

The Raanan family were captured while they were celebrating Natalie’s graduation and her grandmother Tamar Ranaan’s 85th birthday. Tamar Ranaan had survived an attack from Hamas.

Tamar Ranaan and her partner, Yehiel, stayed safe and alive by hiding in a special room in their house.

MrBiden thanked the government of Qatar for helping to settle the situation and release the two women on Friday.

He said that US officials have been working thoroughly day and night to rescue American citizens who were captured by Hamas.

A spokesperson for Hamas, Abu Ubaida, said that the mother and daughter were let go because of humanitarian concerns. They wanted to show the American people and the world that the statements made by Biden and his oppressive government are not true and without evidence.

CNN said that the mother was not well and was getting help from the Red Cross.

Judith Raanan, who was born in Israel, worked in the US as a person who enhances people’s appearance and a person who helps others with their lives, and frequently used her Hebrew name, Yehudit, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, said that he is excited to bring the people back home who showed incredible strength and courage during a very scary and unimaginable situation.

Until Friday, the US state department stated that at least 32 American citizens had been identified as dead in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict this month. However, there are still 10 American citizens whose whereabouts are unknown.

The US and UK are both cooperating with Qatari officials to bring back their citizens safely.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “We will keep talking to both the Israelis and Hamas, and we want these talks to help free all civilian hostages from any country. ”

Some other countries that have citizens currently being kept in Gaza are Argentina, Germany, France, Thailand, and Portugal.

The Ranaans were a big family that was involved in the attack.

There are eight more family members who cannot be found in Kibbutz Be’eri. Three people died, one of them was a carer.

BBC News has confirmed the names of the other family members who are believed to have been taken against their will in Gaza.

Dr Shoshan Haran, who is 67 years old, along with her daughter Adi Shoham, who is 38 years old, Adi’s partner Tal Shoham, also 38 years old, and their children, Naveh, who is 8 years old, and Yahel, who is 3 years old, are thought to have been taken away from their house.

Dr Haran started a non-profit organization called Fair Planet. They found out that a phone owned by her husband, Avshalom, was traced to Gaza. They suspect that the entire family was kidnapped.

Economist Avshalom Haran, who held dual citizenship in Germany and Israel, has passed away, as confirmed by the BBC. He was sixty-six years old.

Sharon Avigdori, who is 52 years old, her 12-year-old daughter Noam, and Lilach Kipnis, who is 60 years old, are thought to have been taken away without consent.

Lilach’s partner, Eviatar Kipnis, who was 66 years old and had Italian citizenship, sadly passed away, according to the family’s statement.

Paul Vincent Castelvi, the person who took care of Eviatar Kipnis, was also murdered.

  • First aid trucks arrive in Gaza

First aid trucks arrive in Gaza

On Saturday, the first trucks bringing help for people in need arrived in Gaza. This happened two weeks after Israel started blocking off the area as a response to violent attacks by the group Hamas, which follows an extremist form of Islam.

The trucks went into Gaza through the Rafah crossing. This is the only way to enter Gaza that is not controlled by Israel. The CNN team saw this from the Palestinian border. The crossing shut down fast after 20 trucks passed through.

The people on the Egyptian side of the border were very happy because the crossing finally opened after waiting for days. They celebrated by shouting and cheering.

The Hamas government said that the trucks had medicines, medical supplies, and a small amount of canned food.

But, even though people in Gaza really need these supplies, aid workers say there isn’t enough for everyone. There are 2. 2 million people in Gaza, but the help they are getting is only a small part of what they actually need. This is because Israel and Egypt have put a blockade on Gaza.

The situation in Gaza has become worse every day. The hospitals are almost collapsing, and the people there have almost no food, water, or other important things they need. They are being constantly attacked by Israel.

The help has arrived only one day after two Americans were freed from Gaza. These Americans were held hostage by Hamas who attacked on October 7th. However, the release of these two people has raised concerns about what will happen to around 200 other hostages if Israeli soldiers enter Gaza.

Hamas, a group that controls Gaza, has given back the people they were holding as captives at the border. Judith Tai Raanan and her daughter Natalie Raanan, who is 17 years old, are now going to meet their family members again.

For their family, the release was the end of a very bad situation that started on October 7 when Hamas members did a very bad thing to the Jews. They killed over 1,400 people and took many others to Gaza.

At least 4,127 people have been killed in Israel’s attacks on Gaza, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas. This includes many women and children. Israel says it is only hitting Hamas sites.

Ben Raanan, Natalie’s brother, said that they are prepared to begin the amazing journey of helping her heal from her trauma.

But, he mentioned, many others are still experiencing the same problem.

“He said that there are families in Gaza and Israel who have suffered a loss that he cannot even imagine. ”

A lot of Israeli families went to a ceremony in Tel Aviv on Friday. There was a dinner table set up with 200 empty spots to represent the hostages. Shabbat is a special day of rest and thinking every week. It’s a time when Jewish families come together to eat and pray.

A representative from Hamas said on Friday that the two Americans who were being held captive have been set free because it was the right thing to do and to show that the United States’ government’s claims are not true.

Many world leaders, such as those from the United States, United Kingdom, and France, have welcomed the release. However, leaders from Israel are doubtful about Hamas’ reasons and have vowed to keep fighting back strongly.

The prime minister of Palestine says that unquestioning support for Israel gives them permission to kill people.

We have two hostages who have returned home. We will keep trying our best to bring back everyone who has been kidnapped or gone missing. “Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, expressed that we will continue fighting until we win,” he shared on social media last Friday.

Major Doron Spielman, a representative of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), told CNN on Friday that Hamas was making a ridiculous attempt to gain international sympathy by using the humanitarian issue.

Some people think that Hamas released the captives in order to delay a possible Israeli attack. Israeli forces have gathered by the border and told Palestinians to leave the northern part of Gaza, so there is speculation that they might invade by land.

Israeli officials have not told the public their specific plans, but they want to get rid of Hamas and its underground tunnels in crowded cities.

Rami Igra, a former division chief of the hostages and MIA unit with Israel’s intelligence service called Mossad, said that Hamas is experiencing a lot of pressure. They are using various strategies to prevent the Israeli maneuver into the Gaza Strip.

They want to delay or put off this action or event. They are trying to reduce the stress on themselves, and they will use anything available to achieve a ceasefire,” he added.

The US and its friends have not actively opposed this type of attack, but they have advised Israel to have a clear plan and objectives if they decide to invade. They are cautioning against a long occupation and putting a strong emphasis on protecting civilians, according to US and Western officials speaking to CNN.

An injured Palestinian child is talking about the time when a missile landed close to him.

However, more and more innocent people are being killed in Gaza every day, causing anger to grow not only in the Middle East but also in other parts of the world.

The enclave, which was already cut off from the outside world by Israel and Egypt for the past 17 years, became even more isolated after the recent war started and Israel declared a complete blockade.

The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said that the blackout and the prohibition on importing fuel have had very harmful effects on the healthcare system and people’s ability to get clean water.

It said that around 1. 4 million people had to leave their homes in Gaza. This is more than 60% of all the people living there.

Over 544,000 people are currently living in emergency shelters authorized by the UN, but conditions there are getting worse. Many people are at risk of getting sick from unsafe water.

Egypt said they would allow the first aid trucks into Gaza through the Rafah crossing, which is not controlled by Israel. But there were delays in opening the crossing, and this made aid organizations frustrated because they were waiting to be allowed in.

However, the 20 trucks that arrived in Gaza on Saturday, even though they were urgently needed, are not sufficient to address the magnitude of the crisis.

Martin Griffiths, the head of the UN relief organization, said to CNN that we should work towards delivering aid to Gaza at the same level as before, which was 100 trucks per day. “We need to make sure that we can do something consistently and reliably every day on a large scale. ”

Tamara Alrifai, who is in charge of communicating for the UN’s relief organization for Palestinian refugees, agrees with this idea and says that what is required is a steady supply of assistance. This is not about doing something once, like sending 20 trucks and then stopping.

  • Large increase in hate crimes since Hamas attacks on Israel – Scotland Yard

Large increase in hate crimes since Hamas attacks on Israel – Scotland Yard

Scotland Yard, the police force in London, has reported a significant increase in hate crimes, especially those targeting Jews, since the acts of violence by Hamas against Israel.

From October 1 to 18, there were 218 incidents of anti-Semitism in London. This is higher than the 15 incidents that occurred during the same time last year.

The amount of hate crimes against Muslims went up to 101 this year, increasing from 42 incidents the previous year.

The numbers were made public right before a big protest in London supporting Palestine.

The police have said that people are not allowed to gather and protest outside the Israeli embassy.

The police have been informed about hate crimes happening in person and on the internet. These crimes were motivated by both race and religion.

Up until now, the police have arrested 21 people and have been going through 1,400 reports of things that might be against the law on the internet.

Hamas spokesperson including other people arrested in occupied West Bank

Israel has arrested over 60 members of Hamas, a militant group, including a spokesperson, during overnight raids in the West Bank. The West Bank is an area that Israel occupies and is being greatly affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

In a military operation by Israel in the Nour Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem city, some Palestinians were killed, as confirmed by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The security agency of Israel, Shin Bet, has confirmed to CNN that they arrested Hassan Yousef, who is the spokesperson, because they suspect that he was acting on behalf of Hamas.

“The occupation forces have arrested Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a leader of Hamas, from his home in Beitunia. This is part of a large-scale arrest campaign in the occupied West Bank,” says the statement from the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

Yousef was arrested multiple times by Israeli forces. He has spent a total of 24 years in Israeli jails for different reasons, like encouraging violence, going into Jerusalem without permission, and being a member of Hamas.

He has been frequently appearing on international media recently. This week, he spoke to Canadian news outlet The Globe and Mail and said that he believes Hamas would be willing to release around 200 hostages if Israel agrees to a day-long ceasefire to allow aid to enter Gaza.

The Israeli military said that Israeli security forces carried out an operation.

The statement said that many people who were wanted by the authorities were arrested in the West Bank, including a large number of Hamas members.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, 850 Palestinians have been arrested in the West Bank since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. The people mentioned are lawmakers, important people, journalists, and former prisoners who have spent a long time in Israeli jails.

Mustafa Barghouti, who is in charge of the Palestinian National Initiative, told CNN that Israel is conducting a big operation to arrest a lot of Palestinians.

They are catching and taking more people into custody every night. There are currently 6,300 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, according to Barghouti. “They are not accused of a crime, and they do not have to go to court. ” There is no fair legal process, and this is called administrative detention. This includes at least 200 children who are currently in Israeli jails.

The Israeli government is taking strong action because the violence from the Gaza conflict has started to affect the West Bank.

Israeli forces killed several Palestinians during clashes in the West Bank on Thursday, as reported by the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Health. The government told CNN that they have confirmed the deaths of six people, and they expect the number of deaths to increase. Fights have happened between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers at many places.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said their workers were trying to help the injured people in Nour Shams. They mentioned that it was hard to reach some of the injured individuals, and that ambulances with injured people were being stopped by Israeli occupation forces.

CNN has asked the IDF to react to this claim.

Israel gained control of the West Bank in 1967 after the Six Day War with Jordan. Since then, Israeli civilians have moved to live in parts of the West Bank and have been protected by the Israeli military. The people who live there hope that the West Bank will be part of a future Palestinian state.

Many countries believe that these settlements are against the law worldwide, but even so, Israeli governments have promised to support them.

Israel sees the West Bank as an area where there is a disagreement, and it believes that its policy to build settlements there is allowed by the law.

  • Chinese social media rife with discussion and nationalism over Israel-Hamas conflict

Chinese social media rife with discussion and nationalism over Israel-Hamas conflict

The conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas has caused a strong argument on China’s strict social media. This has created a divide between those who believe Israel should defend itself and various voices supporting Palestine. Unfortunately, there has also been an increase in antisemitic opinions.

A lot of people in China have been watching what is happening in the Middle East and sharing their thoughts online since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th. This attack resulted in the death of over 1,400 people and the capture of around 200 civilians and military personnel who are now believed to be held in Gaza.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has caused arguments among people using Weibo. Just like in other countries, the war has created different opinions among users, and posts about it are frequently seen by millions of people on Weibo.

But even though there are a lot of posts that support Israel, more people are starting to criticize the things Israel does. At the same time, there is also an increase in very extreme views that are against Jewish people. China’s online censors, who are very influential, have let these extreme views spread.

Deputy Chief of Mission Yuval Waks, who works at the Israeli Embassy in Beijing, mentioned that people in China have been showing strong disapproval towards Israel and, in many situations, expressing hatred towards Jewish people.

“We are worried that this would create a harmful environment that could seriously endanger both Israelis in China and Jews living in China,” expressed Waks.

Last week, a foreigner stabbed an Israeli diplomat in Beijing. The suspect is a 53-year-old businessman and the police are still trying to figure out why he did it.

Waks expressed gratitude for China’s help in taking care of the hurt diplomat and keeping his coworkers safe. However, he requested that the Chinese government strongly denounce Hamas.

China has criticized actions that hurt innocent people, but it hasn’t specifically blamed Hamas or mentioned the group in its statements, unlike many Western countries.

“We are a little sad to see that a country we have a good relationship with is not strongly condemning the situation,” Waks said. He also mentioned that the government’s stance often influences how people talk online.

While Beijing has tried to stay impartial in official statements, the media in China has shown a more biased perspective, often highlighting Israel’s bombings in Gaza and the resulting destruction.

Recently, the government of China has increased its criticism of Israel’s blockade of the Palestinian area. Their top official, Wang Yi, said Israel is going too far in defending itself and demanded a quick end to the fighting.

The United Nations and other groups that help people in need are asking for the fighting to stop in Gaza. They say the situation is getting worse and may become uncontrollable. Palestinian health officials say over 3,700 people have been killed in Gaza since the fighting began. This number includes over 1,500 children and 1,000 women.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke in Beijing on Wednesday. He said on live TV in China that what is happening in Israel cannot be used as a reason to punish all the Palestinian people together.

On Weibo, a lot of popular nationalist influencers who don’t like the West often post messages against Israel that get shared a lot.

Some people have criticized Israel’s actions in the past and during their current war with Hamas. However, there are also others who have spread hateful comments and anti-Semitic conspiracies.

A famous nationalist page with over 2 million followers has shared funny pictures with Adolf Hitler and some of its followers have admired the former leader of Germany, who caused the deaths of millions of Jewish people during World War II.

Some well-known accounts have criticized the close relationship between Israel and the United States.

This well-known account with 6. 6 million followers claimed that Israel did not support China when the US imposed sanctions on it. The account questioned why China would now support Israel.

Xiao Qiang, a research scientist from the University of California Berkeley’s School of Information, explained that in China, big accounts that support the government usually control the online discussions. These accounts try to get attention by making outrageous claims and competing with each other.

“You do everything possible to get people’s attention. ” “He explained that there is a business motive behind it. ”

Xiao said that not having correct information adds to spreading harmful stereotypes. “There isn’t much understanding when you rely solely on government-provided information. ”

There is a problem with hatred towards Jewish people on the internet in China, and it is also seen in some parts of the country’s official media. Lately, some false ideas have become popular, and even official media sources have mentioned them.

Galia Lavi, who helps run a center in Israel focused on Israel-China policies, said that when hateful messages attacking Jewish people are not addressed by authorities online, it is like silently supporting those messages. She made a comparison to China, which has also not criticized Hamas.

She said that when Chinese officials do not criticize Hamas, it means they are supporting it.

More and more people who study China and Israel have noticed that there is more hate towards Jewish people in China. Some Chinese diplomats seem to have noticed this too. On Sunday, Hua Chunying, an Assistant Foreign Minister, wrote on X, a platform similar to Twitter, that “during World War II, China gave home to 20,000 Jewish people in Shanghai. ”

Many people online are critical of Israel, but not everyone feels the same way. On Weibo, some people have criticized Hamas’ “acts of terrorism” and want it to be defeated, while others have felt sorry for both sides.

“Support Israel,” a user wrote in a recent comment, getting 1,600 likes on a post by the Israeli Embassy. This has increased the Embassy’s daily post count.

The Israeli diplomatic outpost has been using Chinese social media, according to Lavi from the Diane & Guilford Glazer Israel-China Policy Center in an interview with CNN.

Lavi said that it is expected for the Israeli Embassy to be more busy during these times, as they are trying to inform the world about what has happened.

The Israeli Embassy shared several posts about Noa Argamani, a young Israeli woman who has both Israeli and Chinese heritage. In the videos, she was forcefully separated from her boyfriend by militants during a music festival attack that caused over 260 deaths. Both are now thought to have been kidnapped.

However, although some people had a positive reaction to the post, it also received a lot of negative feedback. A person who strongly supports their own country and has a lot of people following them on social media asked why they should worry about what is happening to Argamani.

The commentator asked if she should ask the Israeli government for help because her whole family is Israeli.

The post got 24,000 likes and was shared over 500 times. Some people said that the Israeli Embassy was using women and children to receive sympathy.

Wendy Zhou, a student doing a PhD in the Chinese internet at Georgia State University, explained that the war has become a big topic of discussion in China online. This is because it allows people to express their political views in a space that is normally controlled tightly by the government.

China does not allow foreign social media platforms and controls or deletes comments that the Chinese Communist Party considers slightly sensitive. Because of this, she said, people who talk about it often say things that “go beyond just the event, mixing in their thoughts about what the Chinese government thinks, what the country’s important goals are, and how the government and society relate to each other. ”

China has been supporting Palestine for a long time, even before it built a strong economic relationship with Israel in recent years. Beijing was one of the first nations to support and acknowledge the Palestinian Authority, and they have consistently supported the Palestinians in voting at the United Nations.

According to Zhou, some of the opinions posted on Weibo can be linked to the widespread dislike of the United States and China’s long-standing backing for the Palestinian cause.

Many comments also mention China’s efforts for peace and make comparisons between the struggles of the Palestinian people and China’s own experiences with colonization in the past.

British-Israeli man football fan killed in Hamas attack remembered

Yonatan Rapoport, a British-Israeli man, was verified to have been killed by Hamas.

On October 7, he died during the raid on Kibbutz Be’eri.

He was a devoted supporter of Manchester United, and the team’s Israeli fan organisation has now released a statement.

It states that the organisation “shares in the grief of the Rapoport family…the wonderful Rapoport family stood bravely against the inferno, but Yonatan couldn’t overcome the vile murderers” .

The statement continues, “To the entire family – the entire community embraces you and profoundly shares in your sadness. His memories may bring you blessings.

On November 11, the family was scheduled to attend the Manchester United vs. Luton Town game at Old Trafford.

  • Tiktok, Meta provided Hamas misinformation deadline by EU

Tiktok, Meta provided Hamas misinformation deadline by EU

TikTok and Meta have been asked by the EU to give them information about any false information that might have been shared on their platforms about the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Before, they were told to give answers to the group’s worries within 24 hours.

However, unlike this most recent demand, that request did not have the power of the law behind it.

Both companies have one week to reply. According to the new rules, the European Union (EU) has the authority to start an official investigation if it is not happy with the answers it receives.

The EU is worried that there might be more terrorist and violent content, and hate speech being shared, because of the recent attack by Hamas on Israel.

This happened a week after the EU reached out to X, which was previously called Twitter, about the same worries.

X said that they had taken down many accounts that were connected to Hamas from their platform.

Social media companies are experiencing an increase in false information about the Israel and Hamas conflict. This includes edited pictures and videos with incorrect labels.

In October, EU commissioner Thierry Breton sent letters to the top leaders of Meta, TikTok, X, and Google. He asked them to reply within 24 hours.

But these letters were not official requests that follow the new EU laws that decide what can be published on the internet.

Now, with the Digital Services Act (DSA), the companies have to reply within the given time limits.

If you don’t follow the DSA, you could get fined up to 6% of your company’s total income, or your platform might be suspended.

    Two deadlines instead of one.

Under the DSA, the Commission has given Meta and TikTok two specific times when they must complete certain actions.

The companies have been asked to give the information about “the crisis response” by 25 October, and they need to answer the questions about keeping the election fair by 8 November.

TikTok has been given the job of showing the European Commission how it is keeping children safe online by the deadline in November.

When asked for more information before, Mr. Breton said that Meta needs to show that they have taken action quickly, carefully, and impartially.

He explained that TikTok has a special responsibility to keep kids and teens safe by preventing violent content and terrorist messages.

Tiktok agreed that they received the EU’s request.

A spokesperson from TikTok said that they will release their first report about transparency next week. The report will provide more details about their efforts to ensure safety for their European users.

The BBC has asked Meta to share their thoughts or opinions on something.

  • China’s President pushes two-state solution for Israel-Hamas conflict to end quickly

China’s President pushes two-state solution for Israel-Hamas conflict to end quickly

Chinese leader Xi Jinping said on Thursday that a two-state solution, where Palestine becomes an independent country, is the best way to resolve the Israel-Hamas conflict. This is his first public statement about the war that started almost two weeks ago.

China’s leader Xi wants a ceasefire quickly to stop the conflict from getting worse and causing a big humanitarian crisis.

Xi said that China is ready to work with Egypt and Arab nations to find a fair and long-lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.

The leader of Egypt went to Beijing to participate in the Belt and Road Forum, a big event celebrating ten years of Xi’s global infrastructure project.

Xi also commended Egypt for playing a significant part in reducing tensions. He mentioned that China supports Egypt’s efforts to allow humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza.

On Wednesday, Egypt said it would let supplies for people in Gaza come in through the border, with the help of US President Joe Biden and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Biden made an agreement during his 7-hour visit to Israel on Wednesday. This visit was important because it showed strong support for the US friend, Israel, while also asking them to be careful in how they react to the situation in Gaza.

However, it is still uncertain when the aid convoy will be permitted to go into Gaza. Additionally, the original agreement for 20 trucks is only a small part of the 100 trucks per day that the World Health Organization states is required.

The fighting started when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, causing the death of around 1,400 people. This conflict has highlighted the growing disagreements between powerful countries.

Israel has attacked and trapped Gaza, causing the death of about 3,500 Palestinians, including many children, as reported by local health authorities.

A short time before Biden arrived in Israel, Putin arrived in Beijing for the Belt and Road Forum. The leader who was not well connected with other countries was treated as a special guest. They were seated beside Xi and spoke after him at the start of a meeting, which lasted for three hours, between the two leaders.

During their meeting, the two leaders talked about the problem in the Middle East. Putin said it was a big issue that made Russia and China become closer.

China and Russia have asked for the fighting to stop in the increasing conflict and have not directly criticized Hamas. This is very different from the strong support that the US and leaders in Europe have shown for Israel.

Beijing’s decision not to criticize Hamas has made Israel angry and disappointed. US officials have also criticized this decision. China has not criticized Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, which has made many European capitals angry.

As the fighting in Israel gets worse, Beijing has shown stronger support for the Palestinians. Over the weekend, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi criticized Israel for taking actions that he believes go beyond self-defense.

However, China has tried to show itself as a fair peacemaker in the conflict.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that they will be sending Middle East Envoy Zhai Jun to the region this week. His goal is to promote peace talks and encourage a ceasefire.

China really cares about its business with Russia and the Middle East. They want to make sure they can keep buying oil and gas from those places no matter what.

  • ‘Scared’ Australia coach calls for neutral venue in clash against Palestine team over security concerns

‘Scared’ Australia coach calls for neutral venue in clash against Palestine team over security concerns

Australia’s coach, Graham Arnold (60), has appealed to the government for assistance in ensuring the safety of the Socceroos during their World Cup qualifier against the Palestinian team.

This request is prompted by security concerns in the region.

Notably, there has been recent violence, with Hamas militants being involved in an attack on communities in southern Israel on October 7th, resulting in more than 1,300 casualties among Israelis.

In response, health authorities in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip reported at least 3,000 casualties during Israel’s 11-day bombardment following the attack.

Australia is scheduled to face the Palestinian team in an Asia qualifying match on November 21st, with the venue yet to be determined.

“No doubt we’re going to need the government’s support in those types of decisions on where we’re playing Palestine and even Lebanon,” Arnold told reporters in London.

“Because of what is going on at the moment, it’s quite scary.

“We’re obviously not on top of everything that is going on on the security side of things in the Middle East; no doubt the government is more into that than we are, so give us some help so the decision is safe.

    “We need to be safe.”

In their final match before the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Bangladesh in Melbourne on November 16th, Australia secured a 2-0 victory against New Zealand in a friendly held in London on Tuesday.

South Africa invites leader of Hamas to discuss aid

The foreign affairs minister of South Africa talked to the leader of Hamas to discuss providing help to Palestine, said her office.

After a violent group called Hamas carried out a harmful attack on Israel last week, the Israeli army has put a blockade on Gaza. Gaza is a highly populated area where Hamas is centered.

The Foreign Minister of South Africa, Naledi Pandor, spoke on the phone with Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, representing the South African government.

Hamas, not South Africa, started the conversations, according to the office.

Minister Pandor, while talking on the phone, agreed with the government and said that South Africa is on the same side as Palestine. They also expressed feelings of sadness and regret for the innocent people who died in both Palestine and Israel.

“Minister Pandor and the leader of Hamas talked about ways to provide important help to Gaza and other areas of the Palestinian territories. ”

The minister’s office said they did not support the Hamas attack on Israel, contradicting what a local media house reported.

South Africa is one of the few countries that has openly admitted to having conversations with Hamas since the war started last weekend.

  • Ashkelon resident describes Hamas as new ISIS

Ashkelon resident describes Hamas as new ISIS

The air raid sirens in Ashkelon sometimes seem to never end. Rami Safon discovered to take them all seriously.

“There were about 10 sirens so I decided to leave our safe room for a coffee, but my wife pulled me back.”

A rocket struck their sixth-floor apartment, causing extensive damage. The impact blew a hole in the balcony and shattered glass from the front picture window to the kitchen cabinets in the rear.

The rocket fire from nearby Gaza is haphazard and non-discriminatory. Remarkably, Rami’s apartment is the sole one struck in this cluster of modern high-rises in an Ashkelon neighborhood.

A drive through other areas reveals the effects on a few additional blocks. The city of Ashkelon, with a population of nearly 150,000, has seen over two-thirds of its residents leaving. In this charming coastal city in southern Israel, about half of the population, including Rami’s family, hails from Russia and former Soviet-bloc states.

When asked about the fatalities and destruction on the other side of the border in Gaza, Rami’s voice takes on a more stern tone.

“Of course I am very sorry. Unfortunately, the war inflicted on us cannot be fought with silk gloves. Hamas is the new ISIS.”

Ghanaian in Israel recounts Hamas attacks

A Ghanaian resident of the Israeli city of Tel Aviv shared his experience of participating in a memorial event commemorating the victims of the Hamas attack that occurred on Saturday.

Seth Cudjoe, a professional living in the Yehuda suburb, described how the community in his neighborhood honored the victims by lighting candles in the form of the Star of David on Thursday.

“They were led by Rabbis who told them to pray,” Mr Cudjoe said.

Many children joined the vigil with “colourful songs and dance, in remembrance of all those who lost their lives” during the attack, he said.

Mr. Cudjoe, an irrigation technician residing in Israel along with his wife and their four-month-old daughter, vividly remembered the “terrifying moment” when the sirens sounded on Saturday.

“I was scared because it was my first time in a bunker,” says Mr Cudjoe, who in the early hours of Saturday sought shelter with his family as sirens went off.

“You could hear the sound of rockets being intercepted by the Iron Dome,” remembers Mr Cudjoe, “but when there was a blast you could feel the vibrations”.

Over the weekend, Palestinian militants caused the deaths of over 1,300 individuals in Israel and abducted at least 150. In the Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, over 1,500 people have lost their lives due to Israeli retaliatory airstrikes.

Tensions high in London as result of Hamas attack in Israel

I recently listened to a briefing by Deputy Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor from the Metropolitan police that took place remotely.

He said that people in London were very anxious after the Hamas attack in Israel last Saturday.

Because of this, he stated that the police had implemented a very important plan to help and protect neighborhoods throughout the city.

Over 1000 officers have been assigned to this job.

The police office, called the Met, says that a lot of people are going to be at the protests in support of Palestine in London tomorrow.

Taylor said that while people can protest, they can’t encourage or cause violence.

He said that the law is very clear about flags and banners. Anyone who waves a flag supporting Hamas or other banned groups will be arrested.

He said if someone has or holds a Palestinian flag alone, it is not against the law. However, if they do other things along with it, they might be breaking the law.

Four people detained at vigil following Hamas attacks

Four people were taken into custody after a large group of individuals assembled in Manchester to hold a ceremony following the Hamas attacks.

The dangerous group attacked on Saturday and killed many people and took many hostages.

Chief Constable Stephen Watson of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that the vigil on Wednesday went well and there were no major problems.

The police arrested four people because they thought they were causing trouble.

The police have released one of the suspects after doing more investigation.

In a post on social media, the police said the arrests were not for supporting Palestine. They also mentioned that people have the right to express their support for both Israel and Palestine. The post was later deleted.

The statement said that the force makes it very clear that supporting Palestine is not the same as supporting the terrorist group Hamas.

The force was asked why the post was taken down.

Mayor Andy Burnham and council leader Bev Craig from Greater Manchester spoke at the event held in St Peter’s Square.

Mr Watson said that the vigil held last night to remember and honor the victims of the terrible and hateful Hamas terrorist attack in Israel went well and without any big problems.

I appreciate our communities for coming together calmly and actively supporting each other. I also want to thank my officers for carrying out their policing duties with professionalism.

He said that there should not be any antisemitic hate crime in Greater Manchester.

  • Twitter to eliminate ‘illegal’ Hamas content

Twitter to eliminate ‘illegal’ Hamas content

X, which used to be called Twitter, has informed the European Union that it has either deleted or alerted them about a large number of posts or messages since the time when Hamas launched an attack on Israel.

The head of the company, Linda Yaccarino, mentioned that they have deleted many accounts.

The EU gave X a deadline of 24 hours to explain how it was following the rules of European law.

It took action because it noticed that false information about the conflict was spreading on social media, like fake pictures and wrongly titled videos.

The EU has said that it had signs that X was being used to spread illegal content and false information in Europe.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, has received a warning from the EU about spreading false information. They have been given a deadline of 24 hours to address the issue.

The EU did not say anything about whether they heard back from Meta, but a spokesperson from the European Commission said they are still talking to the company’s teams who ensure they follow the rules.

The company’s CEO, Ms. Yaccarino, explained that they have rearranged their resources and teams within the company to better handle the content.

“She said that X is dedicated to being open and clear, prioritizing safety, and making sure the Digital Services Act is successful. X will keep working hard to achieve these goals. ”

EU commissioner Thierry Breton wants X and Meta to show evidence of promptly and carefully taking fair and unbiased measures.

In August 2023, the EU made new rules that control the type of things people can post on the internet.

The Digital Services Act wants big online platforms to delete illegal content and prove they have done something about it if asked.

The EU told the BBC that it cannot currently say anything about what will happen next in these particular cases. However, they explained what could possibly happen according to the law.

The DSA lets the EU do interviews and inspections, and if it’s not happy, it can start a formal investigation.

If the commission thinks a platform has not followed the rules or is not solving the issues it found, and has the potential to harm users, it can take stronger actions.

This can mean that the platform may have to pay a large amount of money as a punishment, and if necessary, it can ask judges to stop the platform from operating in the EU for a little while.

Prince Harry and Meghan react to Israel-Hamas conflict

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle strongly disapprove of all acts of terrorism and brutality during the Israel-Hamas war.

Israel attacked Gaza with many airstrikes because members of Hamas, the armed group in control of Gaza, crossed over the border on Saturday morning.

Since then, Hamas fighters have killed many Israeli soldiers and civilians and kidnapped them. They are still attacking and taking control of southern Israel.

Paramedics in Gaza are having a hard time rescuing people stuck in the remains of hospitals, schools, and mosques that were damaged by airstrikes. At the same time, the blockade has become stricter, preventing food, water, and medicine from getting in.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex talked about the conflict for the first time in a statement that they shared on their Archwell Foundation website yesterday.

The message from The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is that they are against any acts of terrorism and cruelty.
We are helping our partners and organizations in Israel who are directly helping those in need. We want to assist all innocent victims who are experiencing a terrible amount of suffering.

The spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said that King Charles is very worried about the situation and wants to be constantly informed about it.

He is thinking and praying for all the people who are suffering, especially those who have lost loved ones. He is also thinking of those who are actively helping in the situation.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were very upset and disturbed by the aggressive fighting.
In an official statement posted on Kensington Palace’s social media platform, it was expressed that the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas on Israel was extremely terrible and completely condemned.

Israel is protecting itself, but both Israelis and Palestinians will still feel sad, scared, and angry in the future.

The royal couple said, ‘Even though people are suffering a lot, The Prince and Princess are still sharing hope without holding back. ‘

Yesterday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Hamas has caused the death of more than 1,300 individuals and hurt about 3,000 others. Around 150 Israelis, including civilians, have been taken by force.

Health officials in Gaza reported today that over 1,350 people have died and 6,000 have been injured. The United Nations says that 200,000 people in the strip have had to leave their homes.

  • Egypt alerted Israel days ahead Hamas attack – US

Egypt alerted Israel days ahead Hamas attack – US

Egypt told Israel about possible violence three days before Hamas attacked across the border, according to a chairman of a US congressional panel.

Michael McCaul, who is in charge of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, informed reporters about the reported warning.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the reports are “not true at all”.

Israeli intelligence services are being questioned for not stopping the most deadly attack ever made by Palestinian militants in Israel’s 75-year history.

According to Mr. McCaul, who spoke to reporters after a private intelligence briefing, Egypt had told Israel three days before that something like this could occur.

“I don’t want to discuss classified information, but a warning was issued,” said the Texas Republican. I believe the question was asking about the level.

An Egyptian intelligence official recently told the Associated Press news agency that Cairo had warned Israel multiple times about a major event that was being planned from Gaza.

We told them that a big explosion in the situation is going to happen soon. But they didn’t fully understand or believe these warnings,” said the official, who chose to remain anonymous.

The person from Cairo said that Israeli officials have not been taking the threat from Gaza seriously and have been paying more attention to the West Bank.

Sir Alex Younger, who was in charge of the UK’s foreign intelligence agency from 2014 to 2020, stated that Hamas fighters were able to attack on 7 October because there was a lack of alertness and preparedness in Israel.

He said on BBC Radio 4’s Today Podcast that Israel may have thought that Hamas didn’t want another fight, so they ignored any information that proved otherwise.

“He said that he believes there is information that could have been understood differently and would definitely be seen that way later, even though he is not directly involved. ”

He said that feeling too confident and relying too much on technology to watch over Gaza may have made people feel safe when they shouldn’t have.

According to the Financial Times, two officials who were not named and knew about the situation said that there was no solid information about a particular attack.

On Wednesday, Mr. Netanyahu said that any claim about Israel being warned before the attack was completely false.

Egypt has the power to decide who can enter or leave the Gaza Strip. It also helps to make peace talks between Israel and Hamas.

Over 1,500 fighters forcefully broke through the Gaza security barrier in a planned attack on Saturday, using land, air, and sea means.

Over 1,200 people have died in Israel due to the attacks carried out by Hamas. Over 1,000 people died when Israel bombed Gaza.

Israel has been attacking Hamas targets in Gaza because of something they did. The people who live in Gaza have no electricity because their power plant ran out of fuel.

Hamas is upset with US President Joe Biden’s comments made on Tuesday. Biden said that Israel had a responsibility to react to the attacks, which he described as a very cruel act.

The Palestinian group said that Mr. Biden’s words were provocative and intended to increase tensions in the Gaza Strip.

After the Hamas attack, the US said it would send an aircraft carrier, ships, and jets to the eastern Mediterranean. They also promised to give Israel more supplies and weapons.

  • Hamas kills residents on Israeli border in their houses

Hamas kills residents on Israeli border in their houses

Kibbutz Kfar Aza is like a small version of what has happened in the beginning of this war. It also shows us a little bit of what might happen in the future.

On Tuesday morning, the fighting continued in the kibbutz, which is an Israeli community near Gaza. That’s why they are only now gathering the bodies of Israeli people who were killed when Hamas came into Israel from Gaza early on Saturday morning.

Soldiers who spent a lot of time searching for and finding dead bodies of regular people said there was a terrible event where lots of people were killed. It seems probable that most of the killing occurred in the early hours of the attack on Saturday.

The Israeli army was surprised and it took them 12 hours to reach the kibbutz, according to Davidi Ben Zion, who is the deputy commander of Unit 71. Unit 71 is a skilled group of paratroopers who led the attack.

“He said we helped many moms and dads and kids survive, thank God. ” Sadly, some people were harmed by Molotov cocktails being thrown at them. They behave very aggressively, just like animals do.

Mr Ben Zion said that the Hamas gunmen who killed families, even babies, were simply a group of people dedicated to killing everyone. Their victims were unarmed and defenseless, just normal citizens who only wanted to have their breakfast.

Some of the people had their heads cut off, he said.

“They murdered them and chopped off some of their heads. It’s really horrifying to witness. We need to always remember who the enemy is and what our goal is – to bring fairness where there is one clear side, and everyone in the world needs to support us. ”

Another police officer indicated a sleeping bag that was covered in blood and was the color purple. A toe that is bigger than normal popped out. He said that a woman was murdered and had her head cut off in her front yard. I didn’t tell the officer to check her body by moving the sleeping bag. A little distance away, there was a dead Hamas fighter whose body looked burned and puffy.

Kibbutz Kfar Aza provides more evidence that shows how Hamas gunmen have committed war crimes. The community was surprised, just like their Israeli neighbors.
The first level of protection was the kibbutz guard. These were resident members who had military experience and they would patrol the area around the kibbutz. They died while trying to defend themselves against the people who were attacking them.

Their bodies were taken out this morning from where they were, in the middle of the kibbutz. Like the other Israeli people who died, their bodies were covered in black plastic. They were then carried on stretchers to a place where cars are parked, and placed in a row, waiting to be taken back.

The people who live in the Israeli border communities knew that they might get attacked by rockets sometimes because Hamas took over Gaza in 2007. They were okay with the danger that came with living in the countryside in a close-knit community, which still had some of the adventurous spirit of the first Jewish settlers.

People living in Kfar Aza and other Israeli communities near the Gaza wire had a good life, even though there was a risk of rockets from Hamas. In the houses, lawns, and open areas of the kibbutz, there was always a concrete shelter nearby.

All the houses had extra strong rooms for safety. They also had outdoor areas with open spaces, grills for cooking, swings for the kids, and clean air.

But no one in Kfar Aza or anywhere in Israel believed that Hamas would be able to break through Israel’s protections and cause the deaths of so many people.

Israeli people are feeling a mix of horror, anger, and shock because they can’t believe that their government and military didn’t do their main job of keeping them safe.

The bodies of dead Hamas fighters, who caused the death of many people, have been left to decay in the sun. They are lying uncovered in the places where they were killed, such as bushes, ditches, and the lawns of the kibbutz.

Next to their bodies are the motorcycles they used to quickly enter the kibbutz after getting past the border fence. The broken remains of a paraglider that was used to fly over Israel’s defenses can be seen there. It was knocked off its path and landed on a flower bed.

The Israelis had a tough fight to take back Kfar Aza from other border settlements.

This morning, when we got to the kibbutz entrance, there were many Israeli soldiers guarding its edges. We were able to hear what they were saying on the radio.

A leader told their soldiers to start shooting at a building in Gaza. Fire started from automatic weapons right away and was aimed across the border into Gaza.

The loud sound of bombs dropping from planes could be heard constantly in Gaza while we were in Kfar Aza.

Israel is going through a difficult time because many of their fellow citizens were killed on Saturday, which has caused a lot of emotional pain for everyone.

However, in Gaza, many regular people are also getting killed. International humanitarian law says that everyone fighting in a war should keep the civilians safe.

It is obvious that when Hamas attackers kill many innocent people, they are breaking the rules of war in a very serious way. Israelis do not agree with comparing how Hamas kills innocent people to how Palestinian innocent people die in Israeli air attacks.

Major General Itai Veruv, who was near the end of his military career when he led the battle to recapture the kibbutz, strongly believed that Israel was following the rules of war properly.

I believe we will defend our beliefs and customs with determination and strength, but we will also maintain our principles and ethical standards. We are from Israel and we practice the Jewish religion.

He said very firmly that they did not stop following the laws of war. It is sure that if more Palestinian civilians are killed, Israel will receive more and stronger criticism.
This is a small view of what the future might look like in Kfar Aza. I spoke to a soldier who did not want to tell me his name, and he had a similar attitude. Just like many other Israelis, the first few days of this war and what he witnessed made him more determined to fight.

When they got there, he described it as a complete mess with terrorists all around.

I asked how hard the fighting was.

Have you ever done something similar as a soldier in the past.

I don’t understand, I just do what I am told to do. I want us to go inside.

Traveling into Gaza would be a very difficult and challenging battle.
Okay We are prepared for it.

The soldiers were mostly from backup groups. In the past, serving in the military was seen as an important way to bring people together and create a strong nation, especially when there were disagreements and conflicts among the population.

Davidi Ben Zion, the leader of the first group to fight against the kibbutz and witness the destruction caused by Hamas, recognized that Israelis had strong differences in their political views. However, he stated that now they are all together in their response to the attack.

There was a very bad smell of rotting flesh in the hot autumn sun of the Mediterranean. Soldiers are being cautious as they clear out the bodies from destroyed houses. They are being careful because they are worried about finding explosives that could still be dangerous, and might even be set up as traps. There was a grenade on a path in the garden.

While they were trying to find and bring back the bodies, sometimes they had to hide because they were warned about rockets being launched by Hamas.

  • EU cautions Musk about ‘disinformation’ on X after Hamas attack

EU cautions Musk about ‘disinformation’ on X after Hamas attack

Kari Lake, a person who wanted to become the governor of Arizona but didn’t accept losing, plans to run for the state’s Senate position in the 2024 election.

Ms Lake repeated what her friend Donald Trump said by claiming that she lost in 2022 because of a lot of cheating.

She joins a tight competition, where Sen Kyrsten Sinema and Rep Ruben Gallego might also be participating.

Ms Lake spoke to her supporters at a rally in Arizona on Tuesday. She spent a lot of her speech talking negatively about Joe Biden.

The 54-year-old Republican criticized the president’s policies on the US border with Mexico. They called media organizations “un-American” and said they supported Mr. Trump’s time in the White House.

“We only have one year to rescue this country and we need to change our approach, folks. ” She said we need to leave Joe Biden. “We need to have patriotic Americans who prioritize the success of our country in the Senate. ”

Right now, there is a situation at the Arizona border where a group of people or things have forcefully entered without permission. Kyrsten Sinema and Ruben Gallego have consistently said “no” to giving money for the border wall. They have approved this plan to have open borders. Arizonans are tired of it,” she later said in a message on X, which used to be called Twitter.

Ms Lake, who ended up losing the election for governor last year by 17,000 votes, tried to challenge her loss in court but didn’t succeed. The court did not want to listen to the challenge completely. They said in March that there was not enough proof that incorrect ballots had been included in the final count.

But Trump supported her position and fully endorsed her bid in a video message at Tuesday’s rally.

“In the Senate, we need a large, powerful majority to assist me in advancing our America First agenda quickly,” stated Mr. Kari is one of the strongest fighters in our group.

Ms Lake doesn’t have much competition right now to win the Republican nomination. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is currently the only other person who has joined the competition.

However, surveys indicate that there is a close race between Ms. Sinema, and Rep. The state, which used to mostly support Republicans, was won by President Biden in 2020.

Sen Sinema became a Democrat in 2018 by winning the election and taking over the seat previously held by retiring Republican Sen Jeff Flake. However, last year she decided to leave the party and become an independent. She did this because she wanted to challenge what she believed was a “flawed and divided” political system.

The person who is 47 years old has not yet said if they will try to be elected again.

Rep Gallego, a former US marine who some polls suggest is winning by a small margin in the race, was quick to criticize Ms Lake’s announcement. He wrote on X and said that she was “weakening our democracy”.

“That’s why people didn’t vote for you before, and they will do the same again,” he said.

Israeli military reports hitting thousands of Hamas targets

One of the “largest ever air strikes against Hamas in Gaza” was conducted by the Israeli Air Force, according to Israel’s military.

In a social media post, the Israel Defence Forces claimed to have hit 2,400 Hamas targets alone today.

This included weapons storage and manufacturing facilities as well as command and control centres, the IDF claimed. This was more than twice the amount of targets struck between Saturday and this morning.

Thai employees discuss surviving Hamas bombings

We have talked to Thai people who stayed in Israel and managed to survive the Hamas attacks on Saturday. Twelve people from Thailand have been murdered and another 11 have been taken by extremists.

Workers at a farm in Mivtahim, a town close to the Gaza Strip, said that fighters shot rockets and attacked their farm early on Saturday.

One person named Udomporn Champahom said that a Thai person who was with him got shot in the leg and is now getting better. The gunshot wound was described as being as big as a bottle cap.

Someone else said “I was running and crawling under a truck when the shooter grabbed me and aimed their gun really close before shooting at the ground. ”

The worker, who doesn’t want to give their name, was eventually able to get away.

Around 30,000 people from Thailand are currently working in agriculture in Israel. Some of them, around 5,000, are specifically working near the Gaza border.

Wanida Maarsa said that her husband Anucha Angkaew, who has been working on an avocado farm for almost two years, was one of the people captured by the militants.

He was seen in a video that Hamas posted recently, but she hasn’t been able to reach him since Friday night. They last talked before she put their daughter to bed.

Mother of 22-year-old festival massacre victim missing

A 22-year-old woman from Ireland and Israel is one of the people who cannot be found after gunmen from Hamas attacked the Supernova music festival close to the border of Gaza. Sadly, the attack caused the death of almost 300 individuals.

During an interview with ABC News, Jennifer Damti explained that her daughter, Kim, called them right after the attack started.

“Kim didn’t know that there were around seven or eight vans full of terrorists. They started shooting in all directions,” she explained.

“They killed them, like ducks being hunted. That’s why I’m here, because I want the world to criticize this behavior. ”

The quote says that you cannot sleep. All I can think about is where she is, if she’s in pain, if she’s still breathing. I only want to have her with me again.

“You are not able to rest. ” All I can think about is where she is, if she is in pain, if she is still living. I just want her to come back.

The Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, said that the government knows about the situation and that officials from the embassy are talking to the family.

  • Scores of Hamas fighters dead after Israel air strike, bodies still on the ground after hours

Scores of Hamas fighters dead after Israel air strike, bodies still on the ground after hours

We saw dead bodies of Hamas fighters still on the ground – not removed like the Israeli victims – left to decay.

Additionally,We saw an Israeli person stop his truck to grab a rock and throw it at the body of a dead Hamas fighter. People on both sides of the border became very angry.

Israel’s soldiers, who are prepared and have been trained well, are working hard to get rid of the remaining terrorists that attacked. But at the same time, Hamas is constantly shooting many rockets across the border, both during the day and throughout the night.

Israel’s advanced air defences, known as the Iron Dome, have been working very hard. It cannot stop all the rockets fired from Gaza.

The cleanup in Gaza sometimes seems like a big military operation – with Israeli jets flying overhead and hitting many places inside Gaza.

But Israel is definitely making plans for a lot more. There are a lot of tanks, troops, and armored vehicles getting closer to Gaza’s border. It seems like getting ready for a big military action in Gaza.

Four hostages and the Hamas militants holding them were killed in airstrikes by Israel overnight and this morning in Gaza, according to a militant group spokesman.

Although the precise number of those seized in Israel and taken hostage by Hamas is unknown, the Israeli military confirmed this morning that there were “dozens” of them.

  • US ships draw closer to Israel after Hamas attack

US ships draw closer to Israel after Hamas attack

The US is moving a big ship, other smaller ships, and planes to a place called the eastern Mediterranean. They are also giving Israel more stuff like tools and bullets.

This means that after Hamas attacked southern Israel, President Biden said it was a very bad and shocking attack that had never happened before.

A representative from US National Security said that some Americans were killed.

Israel says that over 700 people have lost their lives, and around 100 individuals have been taken against their will.

In Gaza, over 400 people were killed because of Israeli air strikes, say Palestinian officials.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the USS Gerald R Ford aircraft carrier, a type of ship that carries airplanes, along with a missile cruiser and four missile destroyers, are going towards that area. He said they would send fighter planes too.

The White House said it would send more help to Israel’s military soon. They want to make sure that Israel’s enemies cannot take advantage of the situation.

The US is sending a lot of troops because they are worried that the fight between Israel and Hamas could spread to other nearby areas.

Specifically, the United States is very interested in stopping Lebanon’s influential Hezbollah group from getting involved in the conflict. Iran supports and provides money and weapons to Hamas.

The President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, has said he supports the attack by Hamas. He believes that Israel should be punished for putting the region in danger.

Hamas claimed that Iran provided them with support to carry out their attack. Their attack included using rockets, drones, and militants on paragliders. They managed to break through Israeli border fortifications around the Gaza Strip with the help of hundreds of fighters.
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said that there is no clear proof that Iran is directly involved, but they have been supporting the Gaza-based group for a long time.

Hamas relies on Iran’s support for its existence. We don’t have proof that Iran was responsible for this attack or involved in it yet. “But the help and assistance have been evident for many years,” he said during an interview on US television.

During a meeting at the United Nations Security Council, Iran said that they were not involved in the attack on Israel.
Many people are still unaccounted for. One of the people involved was a 23-year-old man named Hersh Golberg-Polin from America and Israel. He was at a music festival in the desert when a group of violent people attacked.

His mom and dad told the Jerusalem Post that they got two messages from him. One said “I love you” and the other said “I’m sorry. ”

There are now reports about other North Americans who are also missing, such as peace activist Vivian Silver.

A Canadian friend of a 75-year-old woman named Ms Silver said that she called her sister on Saturday morning. She told her sister that Palestinian militants were knocking on her door.

“He said there was a lot of noise and shouting, Vivian was fighting, and then the phone suddenly turned off. ”

Israel’s ambassador to the US, Michael Herzog, said to CBS News that he knows Americans were among the soldiers and civilians who were taken away in southern Israel, but he doesn’t know more information about it.

The United States gives a lot of money to Israel every year to help with their military. Israel is a very good friend of the United States. Since World War Two, Israel has received the most foreign aid from the United States.

The UN Security Council is going to have a meeting in New York soon to talk about the fighting happening in Israel and Gaza.

The Israeli Embassy in the UK has confirmed that a British person is not found in Israel after the attacks on Saturday by Palestinian militants.

Jake Marlowe, who is from London, was working as a security staff member at a party outside near the Gaza border. However, he suddenly went missing.

The embassy said they did not know if the 26-year-old had been taken by someone against their will.

Mr Marlowe’s mother spoke to the Jewish News, a British newspaper, and said that she talked to him while the attacks were happening.

She said that he texted her at around 5. 30amHe mentioned that the signal was not good, but everything was fine. He promised to keep her updated and also told her that he loves her.

On Saturday, a surprise attack was carried out by many armed individuals from Hamas, and it is said to have resulted in the deaths of at least 300 people in Israel.

Many armed people went into the southern part of Israel. They killed both soldiers and civilians, and took a large number of hostages into Gaza.

People who were at the music event near Kibbutz Re’im, where Mr. Marlowe was working, said that some people with guns started shooting at the partygoers early in the morning.

One person at the event, Gili Yoskovich, told the BBC that she hid beneath a tree in a field while armed people walked around shooting whoever they came across.

The Foreign Office was asked for a statement about Mr. Marlowe

Israel risks long difficult war following Hamas onslaught from Gaza

The Israeli military says that Hamas fighters from Gaza have entered Israel’s southern communities and killed around 300 people.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed the citizens that they are entering a war that will be lengthy and tough.

Many armed people entered southern Israel, they killed soldiers and regular people, and they took a large number of hostages into Gaza, as said by the army.

On Sunday morning, the Israeli Air Force said it was attacking important buildings and systems in Gaza.

The Israeli army attacked southern Lebanon with big guns after mortars were shot from there towards Israeli positions in the disputed Mount Dov/Shebaa Farms area.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah group said they carried out the attack to support the Palestinian resistance.

Over 300 people have died due to Israeli airstrikes in Gaza since Palestinian militants entered Israel from Gaza on Saturday morning, as confirmed by Palestinian health officials.

People living in Gaza got messages from Israel telling them to go to the city or seek safety in shelters.

The leader of Israel said in a message that they were forced into war because Hamas attacked them. They said the initial stage of the war would be over soon, as they were getting rid of most of the militants on their land. Israel will make sure its citizens are safe and succeed in their goals, he said.

The Israeli government has decided to stop providing electricity, fuel, and goods to Gaza.

Israel’s worst fear – Palestinian militants with weapons wandering around in the southern part of the country – started early on Saturday, during the Jewish day of rest and celebration known as Simchat Torah.

Gunmen broke through the fence separating Gaza from Israel. They entered Israel using motorbikes, paragliders, and by sea. The IDF spokesperson said there were hundreds of these people, and over 3,000 rockets were shot at Israel in one day.

Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus said that they attacked many Israeli communities and IDF bases. They went from one house to another, searching inside.

They killed innocent Israeli people in their houses and then took more Israeli people to Gaza. I am referring to women, children, the elderly, and disabled individuals.

Disturbing videos showed Israeli people running scared from a desert festival, and women being forced into vehicles and taken away by kidnappers.
    Video caption

Israeli people were calling and informing the news channels that they were staying inside their houses because they were very afraid and worried about their safety. Fifteen people living in the town of Netiv HaAsara were killed by Hamas fighters.

In the town of Sderot, a person named Shlomi saw a lot of people lying on the ground along the road.

Over time, the Israeli military started to regain control over many of the southern communities. According to Israeli media, the hostages who were kept in a dining room in Kibbutz Be’er were released after 18 hours. Soon after, more updates said that soldiers had rescued people who were being held captive in the town of Ofakim. The assailants who were keeping them hostage were also killed.

US President Joe Biden said that America strongly supports Israel, which is currently being targeted by a terrorist group. Biden described the support as very strong and unwavering.

Hamas’s military group stated that they captured many more Israelis than just a few dozen, including important military leaders.

By the end of Saturday, over 1,500 people got hurt in Gaza and another 1,500 in Israel, according to officials.

The army said that if Hamas continues to use a very high level of violence, they will respond in a way that has never been seen before.

Thousands of reserve soldiers have been called up and are now getting ready to start a military operation on the ground in Gaza.

On Saturday, Israel attacked and destroyed a tall building called the Palestine Tower in the middle of Gaza City. This building had radio stations owned by Hamas on its roof.

The Israeli air force attacked buildings used by important members of Hamas for doing terrorist acts. They informed the people in the buildings to leave before the attack happened.

There was fighting in different places in the West Bank on Saturday. Palestinian doctors said that six Palestinians were killed during clashes with Israeli forces.

Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif asked all Palestinians to help with the group’s mission.

“We have decided to stop these Israeli offenses with the help of God, so that the enemy realizes they can no longer cause chaos without facing consequences,” he said.

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader who is not currently in his home country, said that Palestinian groups plan to make the fighting bigger in the West Bank and Jerusalem that is controlled by another country.

Ghazi Hamad, who speaks for Hamas, told the BBC that Iran supported the attack directly.

Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Palestine and a political opponent of Hamas, stated that the Palestinian people have the right to protect themselves from the violence caused by settlers and occupying forces.

Many countries strongly disapprove of the Hamas attacks.

The UN boss, António Guterres, said he was shocked by reports that innocent people were attacked and taken from their houses. The UK’s Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, firmly denounced the terrible attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians.

Saudi Arabia wants the fighting to stop right away. They have been warning about the dangers of the occupation and how the Palestinian people are being mistreated for a long time.
