Diplomatic rescue efforts for ‘strangled’ Gaza ramping up as worries of regional confrontation grow

UN experts have said that Gaza is being heavily controlled and attacked by Israel. There are worries that this could lead to more violence and harm for the people trying to escape. This could also involve other countries getting involved in the conflict.

Israel has promised to get rid of Hamas because of the very bad terrorist attacks they launched on October 7. Hamas is an extremist group that is in charge of a certain area. More than 1,400 people were killed and many were taken hostage during Hamas’ violent attack, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). US President Joe Biden has described it as the most terrible killing of Jewish people since the Holocaust.

Countries are trying harder to create a pathway for sending much-needed supplies into Gaza. This is because the 2. 3 million people living there are running out of important things like clean water, food, fuel, and medicine. Aid agencies say this will lead to an extremely serious humanitarian disaster that has never been seen before.

“Gaza is in a desperate situation, and it appears that people all around the world have forgotten their compassion,” said Philippe Lazzarini, who leads the UNRWA. He urgently called for essential assistance to be permitted into Gaza. We know that water is essential for life. Unfortunately, in Gaza, they are running out of water, which is causing a decline in their quality of life.

Lazzarini said that for the past eight days, Gaza has not received any water, wheat, or fuel, and the people living there are very desperate.

The Israeli Prime Minister‘s office said on Monday that there are no plans to open the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt. This is the only way people can enter Gaza that is not controlled by Israel.

The Prime Minister’s office told CNN that currently, there is no agreement to stop fighting or provide help to the people in the Gaza Strip in exchange for foreigners leaving.

Hospitals in Gaza are constantly being attacked by Israeli airstrikes. They may have to close soon because there is not enough fuel to power the generators that provide water and keep essential equipment like ventilators and incubators working, according to Marwan Jilani, the Director General of the Palestinian Red Crescent. He explained that there wouldn’t be any more fuel left by Monday or Tuesday.

Hospitals in Gaza are about to collapse. They don’t have any painkillers left and many people are getting very dehydrated because they don’t have enough drinking water. This information comes from a medical group called Medecins sans Frontieres. Many aid agencies are saying that there is a risk of running out of fuel and essential items in just a few hours, rather than days.

Around 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza, with 5,000 expecting to give birth soon, are facing a very difficult and dangerous situation. The UN Population Fund representative, Dominic Allen, warns that they are dealing with a “double nightmare. ” These women are at risk of giving birth in unclean conditions, which could lead to health problems, all while fearing the danger of bombs.

Making the situation worse is the fact that many people are leaving their homes in northern Gaza and trying to go south through the damaged streets before an Israeli attack that the IDF said would have strong strikes and important ground actions.

During just one week, more than 1 million people had to leave their homes because of a dangerous situation. Around 400,000 of these people are seeking refuge in UN schools and buildings, but there isn’t enough room to accommodate everyone who needs help.

Israel’s President Isaac Herzog said that he witnessed awful things during the Hamas attack on Israeli homes and communities. He mentioned a booklet that he found, which explains how the militant group kidnaps and tortures people.

The country that I belong to is going through a difficult time, it is hurting and suffering. My country is sad. “And we have to remove a very mean and cruel enemy, who shows no humanity, without any kindness,” he told CNN.

For more than a week, Israeli bombings have caused the deaths of at least 2,670 people in Gaza. This includes many children, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry. They have accused the Israeli military of purposely attacking medical personnel and their families.

More people have died in the last eight days in Gaza than during a longer conflict in 2014 between Gaza and Israel. Currently, it is believed that Hamas is keeping around 150 Israelis and people from other countries as hostages in the network of tunnels located under Gaza.

Many people, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Pope Francis, and various nations and aid organizations, are urgently requesting the opening of safe routes for providing help to Gaza.

The spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office, Ravina Shamdasani, said that a lot of diplomatic efforts are currently happening. The Secretary-General and many member states are using their influence to try and achieve their goals.

“If we can’t deliver this aid, there could be thousands of deaths,” Shamdasani said to CNN.

Israeli President Herzog said on Sunday that he was having another meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to talk about creating a safe passage for humanitarian aid. However, any future plans regarding this route would require approval from the Israeli cabinet, the government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the new national unity emergency government.

The highest-ranking American diplomat has been traveling to Israel and nearby countries lately, having discussions with leaders from different regions.

On Sunday, Blinken said that the Rafah border crossing will be open, and mentioned that the US is collaborating with the UN, Egypt, Israel, and other parties to organize aid efforts.

China’s highest-ranking diplomat, Wang Yi, said that Israel went too far in defending itself. China’s envoy to the Middle East, Zhai Jun, plans to visit the region this week.

Help and assistance has been accumulating on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, but it seems that the facility is not currently working. Egypt claims that airstrikes on the Gaza side have made the roads there unusable, and Jordan wants to be sure that aid convoys will not be attacked by Israeli warplanes.

The Israeli ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog, said that Israel is making a place in Gaza for lots of people to stay. However, the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, said he does not know if the UN is helping Israel make this place.

We don’t know if water is currently entering southern Gaza.

Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office informed CNN on Sunday that water supply has been reinstated in southern Gaza. However, the director of the Water Authority in southern Gaza claimed that he was unsure if there was water available because the electricity needed to pump water was still not functioning.

Colonel Jonathan Conricus said that Israeli forces have initiated airstrikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. This action was carried out in response to the launching of rockets by Palestinian militants from Gaza into Israeli territory. Rewrite: ColonelJonathan Conricus, an official from Israel, mentioned that they have started sending water to southern Gaza by increasing its supply. However, he admitted that they are not fully aware of the exact amount of water reaching the intended areas.

A military expert says that Hamas is already failing in the second part of their plan.

As Israel fights against Hamas, it also has to deal with the risk of a bigger fight in other areas. There are tensions with Lebanon’s strong Hezbollah group, which is supported by Iran, in the north. There are also potential conflicts in Syria.

Western countries are worried about a big conflict in a specific area. The President of France advised the leader of Iran to not make the crisis in Gaza worse. The United States has been getting ready to defend itself in the Middle East, so that Iran doesn’t attack or make the fighting spread to other places near Israel.

More US attack airplanes called A-10 Warthogs arrived in the Middle East on Sunday. They joined other fighter jets that were already there, along with two US carrier strike groups that were sent to the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

In an interview with CBS Sunday, Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Adviser, said that although there is no new information suggesting any change in the level of threat from Iran, there is a possibility that the conflict could worsen.

Sullivan mentioned that the decision to open a second front in the north, along with Iran’s involvement, is a dangerous risk that they have been aware of from the beginning.

Sullivan said that the fights between Israel and Hezbollah at the border increase the chances of things getting worse. He also mentioned that there is a possibility that Iran might get involved directly, so we need to be ready for any situation.

Iran has said that if Israel keeps attacking Gaza, there will be even bigger trouble.

  • Ghanaian in Israel recounts Hamas attacks

Ghanaian in Israel recounts Hamas attacks

A Ghanaian resident of the Israeli city of Tel Aviv shared his experience of participating in a memorial event commemorating the victims of the Hamas attack that occurred on Saturday.

Seth Cudjoe, a professional living in the Yehuda suburb, described how the community in his neighborhood honored the victims by lighting candles in the form of the Star of David on Thursday.

“They were led by Rabbis who told them to pray,” Mr Cudjoe said.

Many children joined the vigil with “colourful songs and dance, in remembrance of all those who lost their lives” during the attack, he said.

Mr. Cudjoe, an irrigation technician residing in Israel along with his wife and their four-month-old daughter, vividly remembered the “terrifying moment” when the sirens sounded on Saturday.

“I was scared because it was my first time in a bunker,” says Mr Cudjoe, who in the early hours of Saturday sought shelter with his family as sirens went off.

“You could hear the sound of rockets being intercepted by the Iron Dome,” remembers Mr Cudjoe, “but when there was a blast you could feel the vibrations”.

Over the weekend, Palestinian militants caused the deaths of over 1,300 individuals in Israel and abducted at least 150. In the Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, over 1,500 people have lost their lives due to Israeli retaliatory airstrikes.

  • Hamas continue to attack Israel with rockets

Hamas continue to attack Israel with rockets

The group announced that they launched a missile towards Safed, a city located in the northern part of Israel. The spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, Daniel Hagari, said on Twitter that they stopped a missile from Gaza heading towards the northern area, without specifically mentioning Safed.

Loud alarms went off in Tel Aviv after Hamas attacked the city by the sea.

Hamas said it shot more rockets at towns in the south of Israel, including Ashkelon, Sderot, and Be’eri. These towns were targeted by Hamas militants and resulted in the death of 1,300 civilians in last Saturday’s attack.

The militant group has been shooting many rockets at places where regular people live in Israel since they started fighting back.

  • Israel issues a rare order for mass exodus from northern Gaza

Israel issues a rare order for mass exodus from northern Gaza

As reported by a U.N. spokesperson, Israel’s military has issued a directive for the evacuation of northern Gaza, a territory inhabited by 1.1 million individuals, to be carried out within the next 24 hours.

The population, residing in one of the most densely packed areas globally, is in dire need of relief following days of intense bombing.

“Today we do not know where to go. There is no safe place. We have turned to UNRWA and to the United Nations,” Mohamed said.

“Today Israel is committing massacres against civilians and our children are now under the rubble. We do not know where our children are and we do not know what to do. We have no food or water. I am appealing to the United Nations in front of UNRWA building. Where do we go?”

U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric called the evacuation order “impossible” without “devastating humanitarian consequences.”

Hamas terrorists have retaliated with thousands of rockets as Israel bombs Gaza from the air.

The majority of the war’s toll has been borne by innocent bystanders.

“There was an evacuation from the beach camp to here in the UNRWA schools and UNRWA clinics, and they were safe in a shelter. Suddenly a missile hit here between the school and the UNRWA clinic to intimidate the people and destroy them, there is more than one martyr here,” Masad, another Gaza resident said.

    Panic and bloodshed

The evacuation order has instilled panic among civilians and aid workers, who were already fleeing from Israeli airstrikes and grappling with a complete blockade, which provides no escape, and a territory-wide power outage.

Israel’s rationale for this action is its necessity to target Hamas’ deeply buried military infrastructure.

Conversely, Hamas has urged residents to remain in their homes, asserting that Israel is attempting to sow confusion among citizens and disrupt the internal unity.

A new war Cabinet was inaugurated on Thursday, October 11.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit, coupled with the delivery of U.S. weaponry, effectively gave Israel the green light to proceed with its military response, despite warnings from international aid organizations about an escalating humanitarian crisis.

Israel has suspended the delivery of essential goods and electricity to Gaza’s 2.3 million residents, and it has barred the entry of supplies from Egypt.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to “crush” Hamas following their incursion into the country’s south on October 7, which resulted in the brutal killing of hundreds, including children in their homes and young people at a music festival.

Hamas’ attack on Saturday and subsequent smaller assaults have resulted in over 1,300 casualties in Israel, including 247 soldiers, a level of loss not seen in decades, while the Israeli bombardment has claimed more than 1,530 lives in Gaza, according to authorities on both sides. Israel asserts that roughly 1,500 Hamas militants were killed within its borders and that many of those killed in Gaza were Hamas members. Numerous Palestinian and Israeli families are mourning, and many have sustained injuries on both sides.

Hamas has reported that Israel’s airstrikes have killed 13 hostages, including foreign nationals. It has not disclosed the nationalities of the foreigners, indicating that they were killed within the last 24 hours, and there has been no immediate Israeli response.

Analysts are concerned that Israel’s evacuation order may signal an impending ground offensive.

  • Two South Africans perish in Israel-Hamas conflict

Two South Africans perish in Israel-Hamas conflict

Two people from South Africa have died in the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas.

South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) shared this news on Friday, but they did not say who died.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation has been told that two South Africans have died in the conflict between Palestine and Israel, according to spokesperson Clayson Monyela.

“We are currently investigating because one of the people has an Israeli ID number. We need to find out if they have dual citizenship or what the situation is. ”

Mr Monyela, representing the government, expressed sympathy to the family and friends of the individuals who have passed away.

He said: “Our teams in Ramallah and Tel Aviv are working together and helping the families of our citizens with consular services. ”

The fighting started because Hamas militants started a very violent attack on Israel recently.

Over 2,700 people in Israel and Gaza have died.

  • Four people detained at vigil following Hamas attacks

Four people detained at vigil following Hamas attacks

Four people were taken into custody after a large group of individuals assembled in Manchester to hold a ceremony following the Hamas attacks.

The dangerous group attacked on Saturday and killed many people and took many hostages.

Chief Constable Stephen Watson of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that the vigil on Wednesday went well and there were no major problems.

The police arrested four people because they thought they were causing trouble.

The police have released one of the suspects after doing more investigation.

In a post on social media, the police said the arrests were not for supporting Palestine. They also mentioned that people have the right to express their support for both Israel and Palestine. The post was later deleted.

The statement said that the force makes it very clear that supporting Palestine is not the same as supporting the terrorist group Hamas.

The force was asked why the post was taken down.

Mayor Andy Burnham and council leader Bev Craig from Greater Manchester spoke at the event held in St Peter’s Square.

Mr Watson said that the vigil held last night to remember and honor the victims of the terrible and hateful Hamas terrorist attack in Israel went well and without any big problems.

I appreciate our communities for coming together calmly and actively supporting each other. I also want to thank my officers for carrying out their policing duties with professionalism.

He said that there should not be any antisemitic hate crime in Greater Manchester.

  • French lawmakers shield as antisemitism rises

French lawmakers shield as antisemitism rises

The French police are protecting the houses of important members of Parliament because they are worried about violence targeted at Jewish people caused by Israel’s conflict with Hamas.

Police are taking care of National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet and MP Meyer Habib to keep them safe.

The interior minister of France said that 100 acts of antisemitism have been documented since Saturday.

In another decision, Germany’s leader announced that they will not tolerate antisemitism.

He informed the parliament that a group supporting Palestinians, who had praised the killings of Israeli civilians, would no longer be allowed.

French President Emmanuel Macron was scheduled to meet with political leaders and speak on TV in order to prevent the conflict from getting worse.

In France, there are around 500,000 Jewish people, which is the largest Jewish community in Europe.

The Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, said on France Inter radio that they have recorded more than 100 acts of antisemitism since the hostilities started.

This text describes graffiti that includes symbols like swastikas, hateful messages against Jews, and calls for violent actions against Israel. However, there have been cases where people were caught trying to bring knives into schools and synagogues.

It has been found out that the Assembly President, Yaël Braun-Pivet, has been threatened with death.

A person from President Emmanuel Macron’s party, called Renaissance, made sure that the parliament building was illuminated in the colors of the Israeli flag. This was in response to an attack by Hamas on Israel. They also requested a moment of silence before a meeting of the Assembly on Tuesday.

Ms Braun-Pivet also said that Maryam Abu Daqqa, who is part of a group called the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), will not be allowed to go to a movie showing at the parliament next month. The EU considers the militant organization as a group of terrorists.

Meyer Habib is also being kept safe. He represents a group of French citizens living abroad, which includes Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and speaks out in favor of Israel. After the attack by Hamas, he said “we are seeing the recurrence of violent attacks against a specific group of people”.

French politics has been deeply divided and affected by the Hamas attack and what happened afterwards.

Many parties have criticized the “terrorist attack” on Saturday and shown support for Israel’s right to retaliate. However, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s far-left La France Insoumise (France Unbowed) party had a less clear response.

The party called the Hamas attack a “violent attack by Palestinian forces. ” This upset other parties, including allies on the left like the Socialist and Communist parties.

In Germany, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said to MPs in the Bundestag that protecting Israel’s safety is a priority for the German government.

He said that Samidoun, a group supporting Palestine, which was seen giving out candies in Berlin’s Neukölln area to celebrate the Hamas attack, will be forbidden. “He said we do not accept or allow hate towards Jewish people. ”

German authorities have reported that in various towns throughout the country, like Mainz, Braunschweig, and Heilbronn, Israeli flags that were put up to show support for Israel were pulled down and damaged, sometimes within a short span of time.

Braunschweig’s mayor, Thorsten Kornblum, said that the act shows disrespect and makes fun of the victims of Hamas’s attack.

MrScholz said that if Iran didn’t help, Hamas wouldn’t have been able to do these big attacks.

  • Prince Harry and Meghan react to Israel-Hamas conflict

Prince Harry and Meghan react to Israel-Hamas conflict

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle strongly disapprove of all acts of terrorism and brutality during the Israel-Hamas war.

Israel attacked Gaza with many airstrikes because members of Hamas, the armed group in control of Gaza, crossed over the border on Saturday morning.

Since then, Hamas fighters have killed many Israeli soldiers and civilians and kidnapped them. They are still attacking and taking control of southern Israel.

Paramedics in Gaza are having a hard time rescuing people stuck in the remains of hospitals, schools, and mosques that were damaged by airstrikes. At the same time, the blockade has become stricter, preventing food, water, and medicine from getting in.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex talked about the conflict for the first time in a statement that they shared on their Archwell Foundation website yesterday.

The message from The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is that they are against any acts of terrorism and cruelty.
We are helping our partners and organizations in Israel who are directly helping those in need. We want to assist all innocent victims who are experiencing a terrible amount of suffering.

The spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said that King Charles is very worried about the situation and wants to be constantly informed about it.

He is thinking and praying for all the people who are suffering, especially those who have lost loved ones. He is also thinking of those who are actively helping in the situation.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were very upset and disturbed by the aggressive fighting.
In an official statement posted on Kensington Palace’s social media platform, it was expressed that the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas on Israel was extremely terrible and completely condemned.

Israel is protecting itself, but both Israelis and Palestinians will still feel sad, scared, and angry in the future.

The royal couple said, ‘Even though people are suffering a lot, The Prince and Princess are still sharing hope without holding back. ‘

Yesterday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Hamas has caused the death of more than 1,300 individuals and hurt about 3,000 others. Around 150 Israelis, including civilians, have been taken by force.

Health officials in Gaza reported today that over 1,350 people have died and 6,000 have been injured. The United Nations says that 200,000 people in the strip have had to leave their homes.

  • Gaza hospitals run the risk of becoming mortuaries Red Cross

Gaza hospitals run the risk of becoming mortuaries Red Cross

The Red Cross says that hospitals in Gaza might become morgues if they don’t have electricity.

Gaza’s only power plant doesn’t have any more fuel and its back-up generators may also stop working soon.

Medical centers are very busy because Israel put a “complete siege” on Gaza and attacked the area with planes and weapons.

Hamas attacked southern Israel in a way that had never happened before on Saturday.

Israel has said that they will not give back electricity or permit essential resources and help to enter Gaza until Hamas frees approximately 150 people that they took as hostages during their attacks on Saturday.

As the electricity in Gaza decreases, the hospitals also lose power. This means that the babies in incubators and the elderly people who need oxygen are in danger. Fabrizio Carboni, the ICRC’s director for the region, said that kidney dialysis stops and it is not possible to take X-rays.

If there is no electricity, hospitals might become places where dead bodies are kept.

In Gaza, there are many injured people waiting outside hospitals in long lines, hoping to get into the emergency rooms. They are running out of important medical equipment and asking for people to donate blood.

People are going to hospitals to protect themselves from air strikes.

DrJustin Dalby, who has been helping people in Gaza for six months with the charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), told the BBC that the amount of people who got hurt was really huge.

He said that there was a lot of violence happening all the time, and everything was being destroyed everywhere. Day or night means at any time, whether it is during the day or during the night.

“If the electricity supply to a hospital gets cut off, it means that the lights would turn off. ” He said that devices like monitoring equipment, oxygen delivery machines, mechanical ventilators, operating theatres, and surgical equipment will not work without electricity.

  • Hospitals in Gaza ‘to turn patients away’ over lack of fuel and medication

Hospitals in Gaza ‘to turn patients away’ over lack of fuel and medication

The hospitals in Gaza do not have enough medicine and fuel for generators. Because of this, the doctors might have to refuse to treat injured patients.

Over 700 people have died and 4,000 are hurt because Israel fired many missiles in reaction to a big attack by Hamas.

Israel has stopped giving Palestinians food, water, and fuel. This means that the Palestinians don’t have electricity.

Doctors say they will have to send away injured people because there are too many of them coming in.

Doctor Ashraf Al-Qidra said that there are not enough beds in Gaza’s hospitals and they are also running out of medicine and supplies. Also, the fuel and the generator are almost depleted.

There is a problem coming up. The electricity company told us they will stop working completely. This will affect all the people harmed by the Israeli attacks and the sick people in Gaza.

There are a lot of injured people coming to our hospitals in Gaza, and because of this, we won’t be able to take in any more patients.
We want a secure way to get medical supplies to Gaza. And so that injured people from Gaza can be taken to a different place to receive medical treatment.

‘The next few hours are critical and may be very surprising for everyone in the health industry and for all people. ’

Defence for Children International Palestine, a human rights group, has confirmed that at least 140 children from Palestine have been killed since Saturday.

The ongoing war has caused the loss of at least 2,100 lives from both sides. The situation is predicted to worsen as Israel is firmly committed to defeating the militant group.
In Israel, more than 1,200 people have died, and in Gaza, around 900 people have been reported dead, according to officials.

Yoav Gallant, the leader in charge of protecting Israel, said that all limits on soldiers have been removed, and he promised to increase the amount of fighting.

Hamas wanted something different and it is going to happen. He said that everything that was in Gaza will not exist anymore.

We began the attack from the sky, and we will also join in from the land later on. We have been in charge of the area since the second day and we are attacking. It will just get worse.

“If anyone tries to cut off heads, kill women, or harm Holocaust survivors, we will stop them with all our strength and without making any compromises. ”

  • Blinken travels to Israel to demonstrate US support

Blinken travels to Israel to demonstrate US support

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has come to Israel to show his support after the recent violent attacks by Hamas.

Mr Blinken is going to try to free hostages taken by Hamas. Some of the hostages are from America.

He will also ask people to be calm and try to find a safe way for the civilians in Gaza to go, in case Israel decides to attack on the ground.

More than 1,200 Israelis were killed in the attack, and over 1,100 Palestinians died in air strikes on Gaza.

Around 22 Americans have also been reported to have died in Israel.

Hamas, a group considered as terrorists by the US, captured around 150 individuals when its fighters broke through the border fence in multiple areas in the Gaza Strip on Saturday. This attack from across the border is the most severe that Israel has experienced in a long time.
Mr Blinken is going to meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Thursday morning and later in the day with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Friday, he will meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Jordan’s King Abdullah in the city of Amman in Jordan.

Joe Biden, the President of the United States, recently said that he had told Mr. Netanyahu, the leader of Israel, that they need to follow the rules of war when responding to the attacks from Hamas.

But he said Israel had the right and the responsibility to react, and described the attacks as a very evil act.

Israel has said that they will not remove the complete blockage on Gaza, which includes stopping the flow of food, fuel, and other necessary items, until the hostages are released.

Israel has promised to destroy Hamas and has started a strong bombing attack on the small area where 2. 3 million people live.

A US state department official, whose name was not mentioned, said that there are about 600,000 Palestinian Americans in Gaza, and some of them want to leave. Reuters reported this information.

Aid organizations have been asking to create safe areas for people in Gaza to reduce their hardship.

  • Egypt alerted Israel days ahead Hamas attack – US

Egypt alerted Israel days ahead Hamas attack – US

Egypt told Israel about possible violence three days before Hamas attacked across the border, according to a chairman of a US congressional panel.

Michael McCaul, who is in charge of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, informed reporters about the reported warning.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the reports are “not true at all”.

Israeli intelligence services are being questioned for not stopping the most deadly attack ever made by Palestinian militants in Israel’s 75-year history.

According to Mr. McCaul, who spoke to reporters after a private intelligence briefing, Egypt had told Israel three days before that something like this could occur.

“I don’t want to discuss classified information, but a warning was issued,” said the Texas Republican. I believe the question was asking about the level.

An Egyptian intelligence official recently told the Associated Press news agency that Cairo had warned Israel multiple times about a major event that was being planned from Gaza.

We told them that a big explosion in the situation is going to happen soon. But they didn’t fully understand or believe these warnings,” said the official, who chose to remain anonymous.

The person from Cairo said that Israeli officials have not been taking the threat from Gaza seriously and have been paying more attention to the West Bank.

Sir Alex Younger, who was in charge of the UK’s foreign intelligence agency from 2014 to 2020, stated that Hamas fighters were able to attack on 7 October because there was a lack of alertness and preparedness in Israel.

He said on BBC Radio 4’s Today Podcast that Israel may have thought that Hamas didn’t want another fight, so they ignored any information that proved otherwise.

“He said that he believes there is information that could have been understood differently and would definitely be seen that way later, even though he is not directly involved. ”

He said that feeling too confident and relying too much on technology to watch over Gaza may have made people feel safe when they shouldn’t have.

According to the Financial Times, two officials who were not named and knew about the situation said that there was no solid information about a particular attack.

On Wednesday, Mr. Netanyahu said that any claim about Israel being warned before the attack was completely false.

Egypt has the power to decide who can enter or leave the Gaza Strip. It also helps to make peace talks between Israel and Hamas.

Over 1,500 fighters forcefully broke through the Gaza security barrier in a planned attack on Saturday, using land, air, and sea means.

Over 1,200 people have died in Israel due to the attacks carried out by Hamas. Over 1,000 people died when Israel bombed Gaza.

Israel has been attacking Hamas targets in Gaza because of something they did. The people who live in Gaza have no electricity because their power plant ran out of fuel.

Hamas is upset with US President Joe Biden’s comments made on Tuesday. Biden said that Israel had a responsibility to react to the attacks, which he described as a very cruel act.

The Palestinian group said that Mr. Biden’s words were provocative and intended to increase tensions in the Gaza Strip.

After the Hamas attack, the US said it would send an aircraft carrier, ships, and jets to the eastern Mediterranean. They also promised to give Israel more supplies and weapons.

Hamas-Israel war: No Ghanaian was caught up in cross fire – Ghanaian Embassy

The Ghanaian Embassy in Israel has officially verified that no Ghanaian citizens have been negatively impacted by the ongoing hostilities between Hamas and Israel.

This confirmation comes in response to claims made in a widely circulated social media video that suggested some Ghanaians had been caught in the crossfire in Gaza.

The video, which has gained significant attention on platforms like WhatsApp and TikTok, features voices speaking in the Twi language. However, the embassy’s statement, dated October 11, 2023, asserts that the events depicted in the video did not take place in Gaza or Israel.

In a public notice dated October 11, 2023, issued by the Embassy of Ghana in Israel, it was explained that the incident being circulated on social media did not occur in Gaza nor in Israel.

“The attention of the Embassy has been drawn to a viral video clip of Ghanaians purportedly trapped in the on-going conflict between Israel and Hamas.”

“The Embassy wishes to state categorically that the incident did not occur in Gaza nor in Israel.”

“The general public is, therefore, advised to disregard the circulating video clip and remain assured that the Ghanaian community in Israel is safe at the moment,” the Embassy said.

  • Families of British diplomats leave Israel, embassy to remain open

Families of British diplomats leave Israel, embassy to remain open

The Foreign Office has said that the families of British diplomats are leaving Israel as a precautionary measure.

The embassy will stay open and help people by providing consular services.

Israel is being attacked with a lot of rockets from Gaza after Hamas attacked the southern communities of the country and caused death.

More than 1,200 people have died in Israel and 1,200 people have died in Gaza.

The UK government is saying that you should not travel to Israel unless it is absolutely necessary. The Foreign Office also made a decision about the families of diplomats based on this advice.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverley went to Israel on Wednesday. He said that the UK is fully supporting Israel and its plans to take military action in Gaza.

He said that Israel can protect itself, but he also wants to make sure that not many innocent people get hurt.

The conflict outbreak is causing problems for flights going to and from Israel.

British Airways announced on Wednesday that it will temporarily stop all flights to the country. This decision was made after they instructed a plane heading to Tel Aviv to return due to safety worries.

Virgin Atlantic, EasyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Air France, Lufthansa and Emirates have all stopped their airplane trips.

On Wednesday, the government said that 17 British people, including children, were killed or cannot be found after the Hamas attack.

  • Israel responds to Hamas atrocities while intensifying its bombardment of Gaza

Israel responds to Hamas atrocities while intensifying its bombardment of Gaza

The situation in Gaza got worse on Thursday because Israeli planes kept bombing the crowded area in response to violent attacks by Hamas. The Israeli government formed an emergency group to handle the war situation and told hospitals to get ready for more violence.

The long-standing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians reached a new and unknown situation this week when Israel experienced its most severe attack by Palestinian militants since it was established 75 years ago.

Israel has increased its attacks in Gaza after Hamas‘ attack on October 7th. During this attack, armed militants crossed the well-protected border into Israel.

The attackers shot and killed over 1,200 people, and injured many more, as they moved together through farms and towns. They also held around 150 people as hostages.

The terrible acts have made people all over the world feel extremely disgusted, and the government of Israel has promised to get rid of Hamas, a group that keeps shooting rockets at Israeli towns for the past five days.

More than 1,100 people have been killed in Gaza, including many women and children.

Many people have been hurt as Israeli airstrikes keep hitting the packed area, destroying buildings and leaving streets in ruins, with people unable to escape.

Israel has set up a complete blockade on an area with 2 million people. They have stopped providing electricity, food, water, and fuel to that area.

Over 330,000 people in Gaza have been forced to leave their homes, according to a statement by the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Thursday.

The only power station in Gaza stopped working because it ran out of fuel, according to Galal Ismail, the head of the Gaza power authority.

Hospitals in Palestine may run out of fuel on Thursday, which could lead to very serious conditions, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Videos and pictures from the besieged enclave show very sad and heartbreaking scenes.

Body parts are all over the place. Some people are still not found,” a man from the neighborhood of Al-Karama in the north said. We are still searching for our brothers and children. It feels like we are trapped in a bad dream.

The video shows people in Israel trying to protect themselves in a bomb shelter while Hamas is attacking.

In reaction to Hamas attacking, Israel has gathered around 300,000 reservists near the Gaza border. This is a big gathering of people considering Israel has a population of 9 million.

The IDF said they are still attacking places belonging to the terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza strip. People think they might also send soldiers into Gaza.

We have sent our foot soldiers, tank operators, and artillery team, along with additional soldiers from our backup forces. Rewrite: There are 300,000 people divided into different groups in the brigades. The lieutenant is referring to them. Colis short for Colonel. Jonathan Conricus spoke on Wednesday.

“They are now near the Gaza Strip, preparing to carry out the mission they have been given,” he said.

Israel’s government is getting ready to handle any increases in security concerns by making sure its hospitals and healthcare system are prepared, according to the health ministry.

Hamas’ attack has caused political unity in Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Unity Party leader Benny Gantz have come together to announce an emergency government and war management cabinet on Wednesday.

Gantz, who used to be in charge of defense, will be part of a cabinet with Netanyahu and the current defense minister, Yoav Gallant, during times of war.

There is a time when countries fight and a time when countries are at peace. Now is the time for war, Gantz said on TV.

We are making a diplomatic effort to try and bring people together for discussions and negotiations.

The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, is going to meet with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, on Friday. This meeting has been confirmed by an official from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Before that meeting, Abbas is expected to meet King Abdullah II of Jordan in Amman on Thursday.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) was formed in the Israeli-controlled West Bank in 1993 after Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) made an agreement called the Oslo Accords. It means that the PLO was told to stop fighting against Israel and agree to a peaceful solution. In return, they were promised their own separate country next to Israel.

The PA and Hamas compete against each other.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman received a call from Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday to talk about the increasing military conflicts in Gaza.

Hamas has been launching horrifying attacks in Israel. Every day, there are new stories of terrible acts taking place, as well as incredible stories of people surviving and showing great courage during the violence.

Tom Hand, who lives in a place called Be’eri, which is a type of community, found out that his daughter Emily, who is only 8 years old, was killed by Hamas gunmen.

I knew she wasn’t by herself, she wasn’t in Gaza, and she wasn’t in a crowded, scary room where she could be pushed around and feel scared all the time, maybe for many years. “He said death was a good thing,” he told CNN, his voice sounding sad, tears rolling down his exhausted, pale face.

A dad talks about the time he found out his daughter had died.

Hamas taking many hostages makes it harder for Israel to decide how to respond.

On Wednesday, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, a spokesperson for the international Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), informed CNN that Israeli authorities think the hostages are being kept underground.

“He said that it’s logical for them to be underground. ”

He said that despite Israel’s previous encounters with hostage situations, they have never experienced anything quite like this.

Izzat al-Risheq, an important member of Hamas, said on Wednesday that it is still not the right time to trade Israeli hostages.

“Many Arab and non-Arab countries called Hamas leaders outside their country to ask if it was possible to exchange Israeli captives for Hamas prisoners,” said al-Risheq from Doha, Qatar.

“But we told everyone that it is too soon to talk about it while Israel keeps attacking Gaza and killing Palestinian people without choosing who to target. ”

The constant attacks have been causing more and more harm to Gaza.

Over two million Palestinians, including over a million children, live in the Gaza Strip. This area has been under a blockade by Israel since 2007, restricting their access to land, sea, and air.

For almost 17 years, this place has been mostly isolated from the rest of the world. This happened when Hamas took control, causing Israel and Egypt to block its land, air, and sea access. This blockage has continued until now.

The UNRWA, which helps Palestinian refugees, needs $104 million right away to assist the people affected by the increased fighting in Gaza.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said that what is happening right now is a humanitarian tragedy like no other before. No matter what is going on, rules still need to be followed during times of conflict, and this situation is no different. Help needs to be given right away to people who have no place to go. They need water, food, and medicine.

“We are very concerned because what is happening now has never happened before,” said Najla Shawa, a worker from Oxfam in Gaza, talking to CNN. We are discussing large areas, not just a single area. Large areas are completely getting wiped out and destroyed.

Hospitals have too many injured patients right now, and some of them are kids.

A small girl in a hospital, with blood on her face, told CNN that while she was sleeping, everything suddenly started falling on them.

“Someone arrived and gave me assistance, they brought me directly to the hospital. ” But I don’t know what happened to all of my sisters.

  • Politics in US affected by Israel-Hamas war

Politics in US affected by Israel-Hamas war

Israel’s conflict with Hamas after the militant group‘s unexpected and deadly attack is also causing a stir in US politics at home.

The crisis is causing new problems for President Biden’s administration. It is making people pay more attention to the current chaos in Congress and could make the 2024 US elections more uncertain.

The American people usually don’t pay much attention to events happening in other countries. However, when they see terrible pictures of innocent people dying in the Middle East, especially when Americans are involved, they will definitely be interested in and concerned about this story.

    The argument and accusations start.

Joe Biden‘s critics are already blaming him for the violence in Israel.

They have blamed Iran for planning the attack and claim that US actions towards Iran, such as letting them sell more oil and access frozen assets, in exchange for freeing American prisoners, showed American “weakness”.

A high-ranking government official said on Saturday that the accusation was silly. They explained that only groups not from Iran have been able to use the $6 billion, and it can only be used for helping people in need.

Former president Donald Trump said in a speech in New Hampshire that he wants to bring back all US punishments on Iran and impose a travel ban on all predominantly Muslim countries affected by terrorism.

Mr Trump highlighted his achievement of negotiating the Abraham Accords between Israel and two Gulf states as an example of progress towards peace in the Middle East.

But some experts think that by not addressing the Palestinian issue, the agreements between Israel and Saudi Arabia and the efforts by the Biden administration to improve their relations could have made the Hamas attack more likely.
One of the people running against Mr. Trump for president, Governor Ron DeSantis from Florida, said that Democratic administrations have been too lenient on Iran.

“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that this was ultimately an attack carried out by the Iranians. ” Both Biden and Obama had a positive view of Iran in their US policy.

Most Republicans criticized Mr. Biden the most, but there were also some disagreements within the party about their views on intervening in foreign affairs, which used to be a common practice among Republican presidents.

Former vice-president Mike Pence took the opportunity to criticize some of his Republican rivals for having views that he believes are focused on protecting their own country and being separate from the rest of the world.

“We must definitely speak up and criticize the leaders in the Republican Party,” he stated in a message sent out by his campaign. “Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis are individuals who promote peaceful settlements, but I think their ideas go against our party’s long-standing belief that America should take charge as the leader of the free world. ”

    A House divided

On Monday morning, Kevin McCarthy, who used to be the Speaker of the House, joined other Republicans in blaming Mr. Biden’s decisions for making the attack possible.

Mr McCarthy was affected by a revolt among conservative individuals with right-wing beliefs, and his removal has stopped the chamber from making any progress until Republicans can come together and agree on a new speaker – a process that might take a few more days at least.

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, who came up with and led the effort against the then-speaker, said that he doesn’t believe his actions made it harder for the US Congress to help Israel. He pointed out that America gives Israel $3 billion in military aid each year.

Israel is not requesting anything that we cannot do. It will take us a few days to choose a new speaker. People don’t think too much about Mr. McCarthy’s political career.
It was a chance for Mr. McCarthy’s supporters to criticize a colleague they strongly dislike again.

“I observe the world and the various dangers present,” said Michael McCaul, head of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, on Sunday. “What are we showing our opponents when we can’t lead, when we’re not working well, when we don’t even have a Speaker of the House. ”

The Biden administration has stated that they don’t think it’s necessary to have a aid package for Israel approved by Congress right now. However, two important people informed US senators today that they believe new help should be given alongside ongoing support for Ukraine, all in one package.

Some Republicans are against giving more money to Ukraine. We don’t know if this disagreement will make it more likely or less likely for the aid package to pass. The post on social media by Senator Josh Hawley, who is a member of the Republican party, appeared to indicate this.

He said that Israel is in great danger and could potentially cease to exist. “Money for Ukraine should be given to Israel right away instead. ”

Currently, people who believe in democracy are supporting widely.

If the Israel crisis has shown divisions among Republicans, the same cannot be said for divisions among Democrats – at least for now.

The Democratic Party used to strongly support Israel, but that has changed as the party has moved left. They now criticize the right-wing government of Israel and its aggressive building of settlements in the occupied territories.

In January 2023, a survey by Gallup found that more Democrats felt supportive towards Palestinians (49%) than Israelis (38%) for the first time in the 22-year history of the poll.

However, the violent and on-going attack by Hamas on innocent Israeli people has made it difficult to notice these differences within the group.

Some very liberal groups have shown support for the Palestinians, but most Democrats have been vocal in their support for Israel and quick to criticize any disagreement from their own party.

Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib from Michigan and Cori Bush from Missouri, who are known for openly criticizing Israel, expressed their condolences for both Israeli and Palestinian civilians who have been killed. They also urged for the United States to stop providing financial support to Israel. Some people in the same political party criticized their comments.

Congressman Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey expressed his strong disapproval of the Israeli people having to mourn their family members who were shot in their homes. He criticized the idea of Congress removing financial support from Israel, a country that is considered a democratic ally of the United States. The congressman thinks this would only lead to harm and suffering for innocent civilians.
Ms Bush and Ms Tlaib are currently not supported by most people in their political group. Bernie Sanders, a leader of the progressive left, strongly condemned the terrible attack and expressed his disapproval in a statement on Saturday.

“There is no reason for this violence, and many innocent people from both sides will suffer greatly as a result,” he wrote on social media.

As more news focuses on the Israeli ground campaign in Gaza instead of Israeli civilian deaths, Democrats may start to feel the same way they did earlier this year.

The situation in the Middle East has changed a lot in just a few days. The current crisis in the US is likely to have unpredictable effects on domestic politics due to the existing conflicts and divisions among different groups.

1,055 people have died in Gaza – health ministry

We just received new information from the Palestinian health ministry. It states that 1,055 people have died and over 5,100 others have been hurt since Israel started their air strikes on Saturday.

However, Ghasan Abu Sitta, a surgeon from Palestine who now lives in Britain, says that the hospital where he is currently working in Gaza has transformed into a place for refugees.

“He said on the Today programme that people are scared and that’s why they are bringing their families to stay in the hospital compound because it is a secure place. ”

The doctor said there were many injured people coming one after another, but his hospital, Shifa, was already full. And it’s the same situation in most other hospitals in Gaza.

Abu Sitta said that Gaza has approximately 2200 to 2500 beds and they have already treated 4500 injured people.

UK foreign affairs minister James Cleverly visits Israel amid Gaza explosions

UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has just arrived in Israel, according to the government.

A spokesperson said that the foreign secretary has come to Israel today to show the UK’s strong support for the Israeli people after the terrorist attacks by Hamas.

“He will meet with people who survived the attacks, as well as important leaders of Israel, to explain that the UK supports Israel‘s right to protect itself. ”

  • Israel must combat Hamas – Biden

Israel must combat Hamas – Biden

US President Joe Biden said that Israel has a responsibility to retaliate against Hamas’ attacks, which he described as a very cruel action.

He strongly stated that the US would support Israel and give them any help they needed.

Mr Biden said that at least 14 Americans were killed in the attacks and some other US citizens were captured and held against their will.

A national security spokesperson said on Tuesday that at least 20 Americans were missing in a later update.

The exact number of people captured by Hamas is not currently known, according to Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor.

Members of a group, considered a terrorist organization by the US, broke through the border fence in multiple locations in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, initiating the most significant attack on Israel from across the border in a long time.

Around 1,200 people have died in Israel since Saturday. Over 950 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes on Gaza as a response.

Mr Biden stood with Vice President Harris and Secretary of State Blinken at the White House. He stated that there was no good reason for the violent actions carried out by Hamas militants.

Mr Biden said that there are times when extremely evil things happen in the world without any good in them. The people of Israel experienced an important moment this weekend.

He strongly disapproved of horrifying reports of parents being killed and whole families being murdered.
“We will work hour by hour to figure out if we can find any of those Americans, or to confirm the exact number of Americans being held hostage. ”

The US is giving information to Israel, said Mr. They have also sent specialists to help Israel with rescuing hostages.

This week, the US said that they will move their naval forces, including a big ship called an aircraft carrier, to the eastern Mediterranean. The US Air Force is adding more combat aircraft to their squadrons in the area.

Mr Biden said he will ask Congress to quickly take action and give more help. The White House is thinking about asking Congress for more help in the form of military aid to Ukraine and Israel, according to a source who talked to Reuters.

On Tuesday, Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They promised to give new ammunition to Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system.

Mr Blinken will go to Israel on Wednesday to meet important Israeli people.

Israel has gathered many soldiers, tanks, and other heavy weapons near Gaza. People think they might be getting ready to invade on the ground, while their airstrikes keep going.

While the FBI doesn’t have detailed information about threats in the US related to the conflict, Mr. Biden mentioned that the police in the country have increased security around Jewish places to find and stop any potential danger connected to these terrible attacks.

In America, there should be no room for hate. “He said that he is not against Jews, he is not against Muslims, and he is not against anyone. ”

A US Democrat believes that we should be helping Israel by providing military and diplomatic assistance.

  • Middle East tensions stoke fears of global fertiliser shortage

Middle East tensions stoke fears of global fertiliser shortage

As the shockwaves from Hamas‘ unexpected strike on Israel reverberate, concerns are mounting over potential disruptions to the global supply of vital nutrients crucial for food cultivation.

The Port of Ashdod in Israel, strategically located just north of Gaza, plays an indispensable role in the country’s potash fertiliser exports. Due to the escalating conflict, the port has been plunged into emergency measures. This scenario, according to Ben Isaacson, an analyst at Scotiabank, threatens to compromise a significant 3% of the world’s potash supply.

The plot thickens with the looming shadow of Iran, a pivotal nitrogen exporter in the vicinity. Should Iran become embroiled in the Israel-Gaza conflict, the ramifications on the global nutrient market could be dire. Isaacson warns of a potential surge in prices for the crucial nutrient required for grain cultivation.

This spike could be a result of diminished supply coupled with surging premiums in Dutch TTF natural gas, an essential ingredient for producing nitrogen-based fertilisers.

In response to these geopolitical tremors, shares in leading fertiliser manufacturers have soared. Nutrien Ltd., a titan in the potash industry, saw its shares ascend by a notable 4.2%, marking its highest surge since last July.

Similarly, CF Industries Holdings Inc., a foremost nitrogen manufacturer, experienced a robust 6.2% increase, its most substantial monthly jump. Mosaic Co. wasn’t left behind, registering a 6.7% rise, its most significant intraday boost in nearly a year.

This year had witnessed a moderation in global fertiliser prices, offering a respite from the spikes of 2022, attributed to supply disruptions resulting from the Ukrainian conflict.

However, the situation could become graver if Iran, feeling the pull of the conflict, intervenes. The vital Strait of Hormuz, through which a staggering third of globally traded liquefied natural gas flows, could become a strategic chokepoint. Isaacson underscores the historical precedent of Tehran threatening its closure.

Already, experts like Alexis Maxwell of Bloomberg Intelligence had forecasted firmer nitrogen prices later this year, due to a nearly 10% swell in European natural gas prices spurred by a pipeline leakage in the Baltic.

  • Deadly clash at Israel-Lebanon border

    Deadly clash at Israel-Lebanon border

An important Israeli officer was killed in a fight with armed group on the border with Lebanon on Monday, according to Israel’s military.

The military said that soldiers and planes killed two “terrorist infiltrators” who entered Israel’s land.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad said that they were a part of it.

Afterwards, the military attacked places in Lebanon because mortar fire was happening, resulting in the deaths of three militants from Hezbollah movement.

On Tuesday, a group called Hezbollah claimed that their soldiers shot a special missile at an Israeli army vehicle in the Avivim area.

The military said that no one got hurt and that a helicopter attacked one of the group’s lookout spots because of what they did.

The Palestinian group Hamas said they launched rockets from Lebanon towards Israel’s western Galilee area.

The Israeli military said that the rockets either got stopped or landed in empty places. In response, they attacked two more Hezbollah observation posts.

For three days in a row, there have been attacks coming from Lebanon, while at the same time, Israel and Hamas were fighting in Gaza.

The United States has told Hezbollah, a strong military group in Lebanon that fought against Israel in 2006, to stay out of a situation.

On Monday, there was a lot of violence. Some armed men came into Lebanon near a town called Dhayra. Israeli soldiers, with help from helicopter gunships, killed these armed men.

It said that two of the fighters died and one went back to Lebanon and got away.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad said that the infiltration was a part of their plan called “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood”. This plan was carried out by the militant group Hamas and involved a large attack on southern Israeli communities from Gaza. It started on Saturday and there are reports that at least 900 Israelis have been killed.

The Israeli military said their helicopters attacked Hezbollah spots in Lebanon, which included two observation posts. This was done in response to two mortar bombs that were fired into Israel, but luckily didn’t cause any injuries.

Hezbollah said that three of their fighters were killed in attacks by Israel on towns and villages in Lebanon. The group fought back by shooting rockets and shells at two places where Israeli soldiers live.

On Sunday, the group called Hezbollah launched several shells and rockets at the Israeli army’s locations in the Shebaa Farms/Mount Dov region, claiming it was showing support for the Palestinian fighters.

The Iran-backed group, which has very strong rockets that can go far into Israel, has said they will get involved in the Israel-Gaza conflict if certain limits are crossed. They say that Israeli troops entered forcefully.

On Monday, a high-ranking US defense official spoke to reporters. They said that they are really worried about Hezbollah making a bad choice and deciding to start another part of the fight.

Israeli flag flown above government offices

The council offices have turned on blue and white lights and hoisted an Israeli flag due to the ongoing violence in Israel and Gaza.

The council in Hertsmere Borough, along with Elstree and Borehamwood, started showing solidarity on Monday.

Based on the 2021 census, about 17% of people in the borough of Hertsmere are Jewish. The town of Borehamwood is connected with Shoham in Israel as twins.

Jeremy Newark, who works for Hertsmere Council, said he wants to help victims and strengthen relationships within the community.

In the past few days, many people have died in Israel and Gaza.

The leader of the council, Mr. Newark, organized the display. He said he would not let the “politics of hatred” come into our streets.
Mr Newark shared a message online where he expressed his hope to deter people who want to bring conflict to the streets of Hertsmere by showing unity and strength.

Hertsmere Borough Council is teaming up with the Community Security Trust to make sure that people in the local area feel safe.

Mr Newark said that he is really proud of how people from all different political beliefs have come together to make sure that our community will not let hate affect us.

The mayor of Borehamwood, Rebecca Challice, said she talked to the mayor of Shoham to show her support.

  • People find it difficult to leave Israel once flights halted

People find it difficult to leave Israel once flights halted

It has become harder to find direct flights from Israel to the UK because more airlines are cancelling flights due to the recent attacks by Hamas.

Virgin Atlantic currently operates one flight to and from Tel Aviv each day, instead of the previous two flights. On the other hand, British Airways still operates one round trip to Tel Aviv.

EasyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Air France, Lufthansa, and Emirates have all stopped flying to the UK.

Few flights are available because most of the seats are already reserved.

An example would be the first flight from BA to the UK on Sunday 15 October. It costs over £1,300 for a one-way ticket.

Virgin Atlantic and Israel’s national airline El Al have no flights to the UK until next week.

Flightradar24, a website that keeps track of flights, informed the BBC that many airlines have cancelled their journeys because of safety worries. However, they also mentioned that the airspace above Israel is not completely closed. This means that the decision to fly to or from Tel Aviv is now up to each airline.

The amount of direct flights leaving the country is getting smaller. James Cleverly, who is the Foreign Secretary, is telling UK citizens in Israel to use regular transportation options to leave, since there are no plans for the UK government to arrange an evacuation.

The Foreign Office is saying it’s not a good idea to travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, unless it’s really necessary. They also say it’s not safe to travel to some specific areas in that region.

“There are planes that fly in the sky, and of course, there are borders on land that connect with friendly countries – like Egypt and Jordan,” Mr Cleverly mentioned. “If you want to leave Israel, we are collaborating with the airlines and Israeli air traffic control to make sure the flights continue to operate smoothly. ”

Some airlines now let customers change their travel dates for free.

Mr Cleverly stated that the government’s decision to not help UK citizens leave Israel might change because the situation there is constantly changing.

“I cannot guess or predict what may happen in the future. ”

Church group seeks shelter inside hotel as bombs heard

A group from a church was staying in a hotel in Israel and they could hear bombs exploding nearby.

People from Birmingham’s Serbian Orthodox Church of the Holy Prince Lazar were in Jerusalem hotel, waiting for a flight to go back home.

The team went to the country on October 1st to explore sacred places as part of their trip.

On Saturday, they were in Bethlehem, a place in the West Bank that is controlled by another country. During this time, there was an attack by Hamas on Israel.

They travelled together in a group of vehicles for five miles to get to Jerusalem.

Father Nenad Popovic, who is 44 years old, mentioned that there were a total of 40 individuals on the journey, with around 30 of them being British citizens.

“We can hear loud car horns and frequent loud explosions, sometimes from bombs,” Mr. Popovic informed the Press Association.

“We have kids and elderly people who require medicine because we didn’t intend to remain in Israel. ”
Many airlines have canceled flights to Israel or warned that travel may be difficult because the security situation is getting worse.

Ljiljana Stojsavljevic, a mother of six from London, said on Monday night that the government has not reached out to them after they provided their location information.

“She said that we are feeling stressed because the British government is not helping the citizens who are trapped here. ”

She said it was not possible to find a flight out of Israel.

“It’s not nice, but we’re trying to stay happy and positive – we’re not sure for how long. ”

“I have six kids waiting for me to come back. I don’t want them to get concerned, so I don’t share anything that’s important with them. ”
A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said they won’t talk about specific cases, but they are talking to multiple people in Israel.

“The safety of all British people is our biggest concern, so we strongly encourage everyone to keep following our travel advice, which is regularly updated,” the statement said.

  • Over ten Britons missing in Israel

Over ten Britons missing in Israel

More than 10 people from the UK are believed to have died or disappeared after the Hamas attack on Israel, according to a UK official who spoke to the BBC.

The people who were hurt include a young 20-year-old soldier and an older Scottish grandfather.

The UK government thinks that there are around 60,000 British people in Israel or Gaza. They are helping families, but they are not planning to evacuate them.

According to the latest information from Israel, 900 people have died. Palestinian officials say that 260 people have been killed in airstrikes.

This is what we know about British people who were affected so far.

    Nathanel Young

The person, who is 20 years old, went to JFS Jewish School in North London before they went to Israel to join the military.

The principal of the school feels very sad and broken-hearted about the news of his death, and the whole school community feels the same way.

He said, “We remember Nathanel very well in the school and we only have love for him. ”

Mr Young’s burial ceremony at Israel’s main cemetery Mount Herzl was disrupted by loud noises heard throughout Jerusalem.

The officials wanted to make sure that no more than 50 people came to the outdoor event. This was to keep it safe from potential attacks by militants.

Finally, over 1,000 people showed up and listened as Mr. Young’s younger brother, Elliot, honored him.

But when his sister began to recognize him, a loud emergency siren suddenly interrupted the peaceful atmosphere. This caused the mourners to quickly drop to the ground and seek protection by hiding under trees or among the gravestones.

Loud booms happened over and over again. Some people started saying prayers, while others started using video calling to talk to their loved ones.

After a short time, the alarm stopped making noise, and the funeral kept going.

    Bernard Cowan

Bernard Cowan, who was born and raised in Glasgow, moved to Israel with his wife and three children. Unfortunately, he was killed in the attack, as confirmed by his family.

They told us that they are very sad because their son and brother, Bernard Cowan, was killed in a terrible way on Saturday during a sudden terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas.

We are requesting privacy right now as we deal with a big loss to our family, both at home and in Israel. Our community in Glasgow will greatly miss him.

Sammy Stein, who leads an organization called Glasgow Friends of Israel, said that Mr Cowan, who was a grandfather, often came back to the city and regularly visited his peace advocacy stand in the city center.

He said to BBC Scotland that Mr. Cowan lived very close to the Gaza barrier. He also said that it was calm, peaceful, and in a rural area. He really enjoyed it.

    Jake Marlowe
    ]

Mr Marlowe worked as a security guard at the Supernova music festival. Unfortunately, militants attacked the festival, and as a result, 260 people lost their lives.

The 26-year-old person went missing from the event that happened in a place called Re’im kibbutz, which is around 3. 7 miles (6km) away from the Gaza barrier.

He also went to JFS Jewish School in North London.

The principal, David Moody, said that we have heard that Jake Marlowe is missing and we all hope that he is found soon.

    Daniel Darlington

Daniel Darlington’s family believes that he is one of the people who died.

His sister called him Danny and “baby brother” on Instagram. She said that he and a friend were killed at the Nir Oz kibbutz.

She wrote: “Just a few days ago, he was riding his bike, laughing, taking pictures of beautiful sunsets, and enjoying the small joys of life. ”

Daniel had planned to leave for Tel Aviv the day before the violent attack happened, she explained. However, he decided to stay an additional day to give his friend a tour of the kibbutz.

Festival goers in Israel were shot at close-range – Video shows

Gaza fighters who launched an attack on a music festival in southern Israel shot and murdered people who were enjoying themselves up close, and then stole their possessions. CNN has confirmed this through a new video taken from a car’s dashboard camera.

The video started being shared on social media on Sunday. It shows terrifying kidnappings from the same event. The video has been closely examined by families who are very worried about their loved ones. These people have been missing since a bunch of attacks happened and Israel declared war on Sunday.

Israeli officials found 260 dead bodies near the location of the Nova festival, which took place outside Re’im. Before this, there was footage of people happily dancing at the party in the desert early on Saturday morning.

According to friends and family members who have seen videos on social media, some people who managed to stay alive are being held captive by the militant group Hamas in Gaza.

The video recorded by a dashboard camera, which has been confirmed by CNN, shows how frightened people were when the terrorists attacked the festival. These militants used extreme violence to stop some people from being able to leave the festival.

The video starts at 9:23 in the morning. About three hours after the first explosions were reported at the Nova festival, based on the timecode.

The video doesn’t have any sound, but a person who fights aggressively is shown shouting and then aiming their powerful gun at a man who is hiding close to the car. We don’t know if the person with the gun shot to scare or if they actually hurt someone. The person they shot is then seen being taken away. We do not know what will happen to him.

In the video, someone else is laying on the ground behind another car. The person starts to move and all of a sudden, another armed person shows up on the screen. They point their weapon at the person, shoot, and then leave. The person laying on the floor doesn’t move anymore.

Another video recorded by the dashboard camera, at 12:09 p. m, shows two fighters coming towards the dead body of the second person. They search through the person’s pockets, and one of them takes something from the person’s body and puts it into his own back pocket.

Less than three minutes later, armed fighters forcefully pulled a woman out of the back seat of the vehicle. She is taken away, and the militants start to open the trunk of another car and pour out the contents of a suitcase onto the ground to be stolen.

The video starts at 12:14 p. mand shows the woman running back into the camera’s view. She is raising her hands and it looks like she is saying hello to the festival area.

Dirt and dust go flying when bullets hit the ground near her. Beside the empty suitcase and open trunk, she hides again. We do not know what happened to her.

The mom and dad of Alexandre Look, a 33-year-old person from Canada, said to the news station CBC that they were talking to him on the phone while he was trying to run away from the gunshots. Look and others went to a safe place without a door to hide from the violent attack, his parents said.

“And then I heard him say to his friends, ‘They’re coming back. There are many of them. And then I only heard many gunshots, many rounds, and then we couldn’t hear anything anymore,” said Look’s mother, Raquel Ohnona Look, to CBC.

Look’s parents said that he died while trying to protect others from the bullets.

He left as a hero, wanting to protect the people he was with, just like a brave warrior. Alex’s father, Alain Haim Look, wrote on Facebook that Alex was a very special and generous person. The world will be different without you. Farewell my child, I care about you and protect us from up in the sky.

“I’m thinking about the family and loved ones of a person named Alexandre Look from Quebec. Unfortunately, he died in a terrorist attack caused by Hamas in Israel,” Legault wrote on a social media platform called X, which was previously known as Twitter. “I feel very sad about how he died. ”

Ricarda Louk saw her daughter Shani lying down in the back of a truck that was going to the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is a small area by the coast where almost 2 million people live in a crowded space.

She talked to her daughter after hearing loud noises and alarms in southern Israel. She called her daughter to check if she was in a safe place. Shani said to her mom that she was at the festival, which took place in a field that didn’t have many places to hide.

Videos shared on social media showed many cars parked by the road near the festival entrance. Some of the cars were on fire, while others had broken windows and open doors.

She was going to her car, but there were soldiers near the cars shooting to stop people from getting to their cars or leaving. “Then they grabbed her,” Ricarda said to CNN.

A mother talks about watching a video of her daughter, who had been taken away, on social media.

The worrying video of her daughter in the back of a truck and someone trying to use Shani’s credit card twice in Gaza after the attack are the only clues she has about where her daughter might be.

In the video, she is not moving. A person with a weapon is sitting close to her with one leg on her waist and holding onto her hair. They cheer, saying “God is great” in Arabic.

Ricarda wants to see her daughter again, but the situation looks really bad.

It seems really negative, but I still feel optimistic. I hope that they don’t use people’s bodies as bargaining tools. I wish that she is still alive somewhere. She said, “Since we don’t have any other things to hope for, I am trying my best to believe. ”

Tomer Shalom said to CNN that he talked to his 20-year-old daughter Noam the last time she called. She sounded scared and was crying, and she called from the festival at around 8:30 a. mHe said he heard the sound of guns in the distance.

Shalom, a paramedic, talked to a friend on the phone at 9:15 a. m, according to Noam. from inside an ambulance, where another friend was getting medical attention for a gunshot injury to their leg. He said that no one has heard from her since then.

It is too difficult to understand or comprehend. Shalom said that it is hard to imagine a situation where kids are going to dance and have fun but they do not return home.

A person named Noa Argamani, who is 25 years old, is asking for assistance from the back of a motorcycle that is being driven by Hamas fighters at the festival location.

Her sad father had a hard time finding words to express how surprised and sad he felt after watching the video. “I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want to believe it,”

Noa and her boyfriend, Avinatan Or, were at a festival. Some militants took Avinatan away with them.

Noa’s friend from childhood, Shlomit Marciano, was there to support her family when they spoke to CNN. Shlomit said that the text messages they received indicated that their friends were hiding for a long time while the attackers caused chaos at the festival location.

Or Noa’s dad received a text message at approximately 10 in the morning. The couple were okay after almost four hours since the first reports of an attack. Marciano said that other friends sent text messages, pleading for assistance.

After that, we haven’t kept in touch. We think they were taken away at 12 o’clock. They were most likely hiding for around three or four hours and asking for help. They began to hide once they heard about the killings and gunshots. “And then the militants discovered them,” explained Marciano.

He thinks that God exists. He’s hoping that she is fine. And she will return to him, to the family, and to us without any harm. She is the only child they have.

  • Israel prioritises destroying Hamas – Ambassador says

Israel prioritises destroying Hamas – Ambassador says

Israel kept bombing Gaza with extremely dangerous attacks on Tuesday, forcing over 100,000 people to leave their homes and overwhelming hospitals with injured Palestinians. This happened because Hamas threatened to kill innocent people it had taken as hostages and show their murders on TV if Israel targeted Gaza with airstrikes without giving any warning.

After the militant group made a threat, the ambassador of Israel to the United Nations said in an interview on CNN that their main goal is to destroy the terrorist abilities of Hamas.

“We want everyone who was taken to come back home, but right now, our main goal is to destroy Hamas’ ability to carry out terrorist acts,” Gilad Erdan said, as violence continued on the fourth day, Tuesday.

Around 900 people died and many others got hurt in Israel during a sudden and destructive attack by Hamas. The attack started on Saturday morning when the militant group launched thousands of rockets and sent fighters into Israel. In simple words: Israel has officially declared war on Hamas and has placed a complete blockade on the crowded coastal strip.

Erdan said that around 100 to 150 people are believed to have been taken hostage in Gaza. On Sunday, Hamas said they had more than 100 people they were keeping against their will in Gaza. Some of these people are important officers in the Israeli army.

Erdan said that even though there are hostages in Gaza, it will not stop Israel from doing what they need to do to protect their future.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Hamas that the Israeli military will launch a powerful attack on them. He also said that this attack on Hamas in Gaza is just the start, implying that there will be more destruction to come.

“This enemy desired war, and that is what they will receive,” Netanyahu said on Monday, also mentioning that challenging times are still ahead of us.

CNN reporters heard loud explosions and rumbling sounds in Gaza, suggesting that more bombing is happening. They also saw fighter jets in the sky.

Israeli warplanes kept bombing Gaza throughout the night and into Tuesday, attacking more than 200 places in the Rimal and Khan Yunis neighborhoods, as per the Israeli Defense Forces.

Up to now, the bombings have caused the death of at least 687 individuals, including many children and women. In addition, thousands have been injured, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry.

It is expected that Israel will launch a big attack on Gaza, possibly with soldiers going in on the ground. However, we do not know exactly how large their response will be.

Israel has sent a lot of soldiers to its border in the south. They have also put tanks and planes along the fence that separates Gaza from Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told CNN about this. The Israeli army has moved people away from the border to keep them safe, and they have asked over 300,000 Israeli reserve soldiers to come and help.

Despite more soldiers being sent to help, Hamas fighters have tried to cross the border between Israel and the south to carry out suicide attacks and harm innocent people and soldiers. A spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lieutenant Colonel, has given this information. Jonathan Conricus spoke.

We will wait and see what happens on the way and how we do the task. But for now, we keep attacking from above. “And, of course, we have plans to make it bigger,” said Conricus. The soldiers, backup forces, and the normal groups that are coming together at the edge of the southern area are preparing for what they need to do.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have increased the number of soldiers along its border with Lebanon. They have added many more troops in case Hezbollah decides to attack, according to Conricus.

Hezbollah told CNN that three of its members were killed in an Israeli air attack in southern Lebanon on Monday.

The IDF previously stated that it killed armed people who entered Israel from Lebanon. This happened because Hezbollah admitted to attacking three Israeli locations in Shebaa Farms, which Lebanon believes belongs to Israel.

In Gaza, Israel has been using airstrikes as a response. Now, they have ordered a “complete siege” which will stop the delivery of electricity, food, water, and fuel to the Palestinian area.

This place has a lot of people living in a small area. There are about 2 million people living in a space of 140 square miles.

For almost 17 years now, this place has been mostly isolated from the rest of the world. It happened when Hamas took over, and as a result, Israel and Egypt placed strict limits on what can go in or out of the area. This situation is continuing to this day. Israel stops and controls the movement of things like planes and ships going to or from Gaza.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced on Monday that it had to shut down all 14 of its food distribution centers in Gaza. This means that around 500,000 individuals are no longer receiving necessary food assistance.

Over half of the people in the country are poor and do not have enough food. Almost 80% of the population depends on help from others.

The Israeli army attacked the Shati and Jabalia refugee camps in Gaza on Monday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. They called the attack a “massacre” against the whole area.

More bombings on a house in Gaza hurt two journalists and one more was injured, said the Government Media Office controlled by Hamas.

According to the head of the media office, Salama Marouf, Saed Al-Taweel and Mohammed Sabah were reporting on the evacuation of a building when they were hit by an Israeli strike. Marouf said that the press members were easy to recognize because they were wearing special clothes and safety equipment with markings that showed they were journalists.

CNN saw a video where Sabah’s body was on a bed, wearing a blue bulletproof vest that said “Press. ” Other journalists were around him. The IDF told CNN they are investigating the report.

At the same time, the ministry said that the Israeli forces intentionally targeted areas where civilians live, medical facilities, and especially people who work to save others, as well as vehicles used for emergencies.

The ministry said that five medical workers were killed in planned attacks in Gaza.

Colonel Jonathan Conricus was asked if the Israeli military was able to tell the difference between civilian places, government sites, and military objectives. Colonel Richard Hecht explained that the difference was not easy to understand.

He said on Tuesday that in buildings where people live, there might be a store for weapons or a person who is in charge of the Hamas group.

Getting medical care has become more difficult because Israel has stopped the electricity in the area. The ministry said that the only hospital in Gaza’s Beit Hanoun neighborhood had to stop all its services because of ongoing Israeli airstrikes. Nine ambulances have been attacked since Saturday, according to the ministry.

Many people who come to hospitals in Gaza have very bad burns and lost limbs, according to a spokesperson from the Palestinian Health Ministry who talked to a Palestinian news agency called Shihab Agency on Monday. Many people have gotten hurt by pieces of metal and other objects that exploded, said Ashraf al-Qidra.

According to al-Qidra, mostly women and children are going to hospitals for treatment because Israeli forces are specifically attacking homes and buildings.

The UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) mentioned that its emergency shelters in Gaza are almost full with over 137,000 individuals seeking safety from Israeli attacks. The text mentions that a UN school where families who had to leave their homes were staying was hit, but doesn’t provide more information about it. We don’t know how many people were in the shelter when the attack happened.

Reporting for CNN was done by Richard Allen Greene, Lauren Izso, Nada Bashir, Ibrahim Dahman, Kareem Khadder, Abeer Salman, Eyad Kourdi, and Amir Tal.

Over 1,000 people have died in Israel – Israel Ministry of Defense

Israel’s army placed a full blockade on the Gaza Strip on Monday. This means they stopped any food, fuel, and supplies from entering the area, which is home to about 2. 3 At the same time, they launched many airstrikes on the Hamas-controlled territory as a response to the violent attack carried out by militants over the weekend.

More than two days after Hamas attacked unexpectedly from Gaza, the Israeli military reported that it had mostly taken control of the southern towns where they had been fighting against Hamas fighters. Israel’s highly praised military and intelligence operations were caught completely by surprise by Hamas, leading to intense fighting in its streets for the first time in many years.

Tanks and drones were used to protect the holes in the border fence to stop any new unauthorized entries. Many Israelis had to leave their homes in many towns near Gaza. The army called for 300,000 people who were not working for the army at that time and asked them to come and help in a very big and fast way.

Israel has started attacking Hamas more aggressively, which could cause a lot of damage in the crowded and poor Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, there were attacks that destroyed a big part of the town called Beit Hanoun in Gaza. The Israeli government claimed that Hamas was using this town as a base for their activities. On Monday, the Israeli army loudly told people in Rimal, a neighborhood in the middle of Gaza City, to leave. This is where The Associated Press and other foreign news companies have their offices. It was a warning that there would be a lot of strong attacks.

The big question is if they will attack the small area near the Mediterranean Sea, which could cause a lot of people to get hurt. The Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, promised to completely dismantle the military and leadership abilities of the militant group.

Israel attacked over 1,000 places in Gaza, while Palestinian fighters kept launching lots of rockets that made air raid sirens go off in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. A video on the internet showed that there was a line of smoke near a section of Ben Gurion International Airport. There is still no information about any people getting hurt or anything getting damaged from the most recent bombing.

Regular people have already suffered a lot and have had to give up a lot because of something. Nearly 700 individuals, including 73 soldiers, have died in Israel. This information comes from Israeli news sources and rescue services. This number is incredibly high when compared to previous conflicts. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that a total of 493 people died in Gaza. Among them were 78 children and 41 women. Many people have been hurt on both sides.

Groups of fighters from Palestine said they have kidnapped more than 130 individuals from Israel and taken them forcefully into Gaza. The fighting group of Hamas said on its messaging channel that four of their people died in airstrikes from Israel. That information could not be checked by someone else to make sure it is true.

The Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, has ordered a total blockade on Gaza. This means that they will stop the flow of electricity and prevent food and fuel from entering the area.

Gallant said that Israel was in a war with “human animals,” using harsh language that both sides often use when tensions get high.

Israel and Egypt have put restrictions on Gaza since Hamas took control in 2007. In the past few years, Israel has given a small amount of electricity and allowed the import of food, fuel, and some things people buy, but they have made it difficult for people to go in and out of the country.

The Israeli seal means that Gaza will mostly rely on the crossing into Egypt at Rafah for import and export, but this crossing has lower limits on how much can be transported compared to crossings into Israel.

An official from the Egyptian military, who wants to remain anonymous because he is not allowed to talk to the media, said that more than 2 tons of medical supplies from the Egyptian Red Crescent were sent to Gaza. They are also trying to arrange for food and other deliveries, but they have not yet decided if they will allow fuel to be brought in.

Israeli Rear Admiral Rear Admiral is a high-ranking military officer in the Israeli Navy. Daniel Hagari said that Israel was using bombs to destroy houses and buildings in different districts that they believe are being used by Hamas. Israel is planning to attack many places, he said. He said that a lot of Hamas fighters were trapped underneath the debris of buildings that were destroyed by Israel in the last two days. It was not possible to confirm what he said about the numbers or that he said the dead were Hamas.

In the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, an attack by Israeli planes on Monday morning killed 19 people. Among them were women and children, according to Dr. Talat Barhoum from the local Al-Najjar Hospital. Barhoum said a plane crashed into the house where the Abu Hilal family lived, and one of the people who died was Rafaat Abu Hilal, who was in charge of a local armed group. The strike broke nearby houses.

During the weekend, a house in Rafah was hit by an airstrike. Sadly, 19 members of the Abu Quta family, including women and children, were killed, along with five neighbors. Nasser Abu Quta, who survived the attack, stated that there were no militants present in their home.

The UN is an abbreviation for the United Nations. Over 123,000 people in Gaza have left their homes because they were told the Israeli military would soon attack. The United Nations (U. N) The United Nations agency that helps Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, stated that a school where more than 225 individuals were staying was struck directly. It didn’t say where the fire started.

After fighting for about 2 days, Hagari said that the military now has “control” over the communities near the border in southern Israel. There were a few small fights on Monday, but overall there is no fighting going on in the communities right now.

He said that 15 out of 24 communities near the border have been cleared out, and the remaining ones will be emptied soon.

Earlier, Hamas spokesperson Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua spoke to The Associated Press and said that the group’s fighters are still fighting outside of Gaza. He also mentioned that they have recently captured more Israelis, as recent as Monday morning.

He said the group wants to release all Palestinian prisoners that Israel is holding. In the past, Israel has agreed to unfair deals where it released many prisoners in exchange for just one captive or even the remains of soldiers.

Among the people who have been captured are soldiers and regular people, including women, children, and older adults. Most of them are from Israel, but there are also some people from other countries. Egypt’s government-owned Al-Ahram newspaper reported on Monday that officials from Egypt are attempting to negotiate the release of Palestinian women who are currently imprisoned in Israel, in return for the release of Israeli women who have been captured by militants.

Mayyan Zin, who is a mother that is no longer married and has two children, found out that her two daughters were taken away when a family member sent her pictures from a Telegram group. The pictures showed her daughters sitting on mattresses while being held captive. Afterwards, she discovered videos on the internet of a frightening situation at her ex-husband’s house: Some armed men had entered the house and were talking to him while her two daughters, Dafna (15 years old) and Ella (8 years old), cried nearby. Another video showed the dad being brought into Gaza.

Please bring my daughters back home to our family. Everyone, Zin said.

The Hamas group took control of Gaza in 2007, after pushing out the Palestinian Authority. Since then, no one has opposed their rule, even during the blockade and four wars with Israel.

A large group of about 1,000 gunmen from Hamas broke through Israeli barriers early on Saturday. They spent several hours causing chaos by shooting and killing innocent people. They also kidnapped individuals in towns, along roads, and even at a music festival in the desert that was attended by thousands of people. According to the military, Palestinian fighters have fired approximately 4,400 rockets at Israel.

Hamas claimed that it carried out the attack because Palestinians are suffering due to Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, blockade of Gaza, discriminative policies in east Jerusalem, and tensions surrounding a disputed holy site in Jerusalem that is important to Muslims and Jews.

The Palestinians want to have their own country in the territories that Israel took control of in the 1967 war. However, there haven’t been successful peace talks for more than 10 years, and the current right-wing government in Israel is against the idea of a Palestinian state.

On Sunday, the United States (U. S) Sent a group of warships to the Eastern Mediterranean to support Israel, and promised to send more help from the military.

Foreign ministry of Qatar confirms mediation efforts

Qatar’s foreign ministry said it is trying to help Hamas and Israeli officials talk peacefully to each other.

Talking to Reuters news agency, a spokesperson said that the negotiations, which may involve trading prisoners, have been ongoing since Saturday night and are going well.

“Our main goals are to stop the violence, free the prisoners, and prevent the conflict from spreading to neighboring regions,” explained Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the foreign ministry.

It is not clear how many Israeli people are being held captive in Gaza. Many people believe that Hamas took women, children, elderly individuals, and soldiers as hostages.

Hamas spokesperson Hossam Badran has stated that the group is not willing to negotiate a prisoner swap while fighting is going on.

We have talked to Thai people who stayed in Israel and managed to survive the Hamas attacks on Saturday. Twelve people from Thailand have been murdered and another 11 have been taken by extremists.

Workers at a farm in Mivtahim, a town close to the Gaza Strip, said that fighters shot rockets and attacked their farm early on Saturday.

One person named Udomporn Champahom said that a Thai person who was with him got shot in the leg and is now getting better. The gunshot wound was described as being as big as a bottle cap.

Someone else said “I was running and crawling under a truck when the shooter grabbed me and aimed their gun really close before shooting at the ground. ”

The worker, who doesn’t want to give their name, was eventually able to get away.

Around 30,000 people from Thailand are currently working in agriculture in Israel. Some of them, around 5,000, are specifically working near the Gaza border.

Wanida Maarsa said that her husband Anucha Angkaew, who has been working on an avocado farm for almost two years, was one of the people captured by the militants.

He was seen in a video that Hamas posted recently, but she hasn’t been able to reach him since Friday night. They last talked before she put their daughter to bed.

People who live in towns and cities are saying that the ways to get into these places have been blocked with big metal gates, heavy blocks made out of cement, and piles of dirt.

Some new places now have military checkpoints. During the day, some gas stations have had long lines of people waiting because they have run out of fuel.

“This is something we have witnessed in the past during many years of occupation,” said a tour guide in Beit Sahour who is currently unemployed.

Another person living here complained that Israel has been using a policy for many years to punish everyone because of the actions of a few groups of people.

On Sunday, the shops and businesses in the West Bank were closed because there was a general strike. The strike was a response to the military action that Israel took in the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Hamas.

In the evening, there were people who were very angry and protesting. Last night, Israeli soldiers killed four Palestinians at the Qalandiya checkpoint in Ramallah.

In Hebron, a man was killed while trying to hit Israeli forces with a bulldozer.

Volunteers shot as they retrieve bodies from festival venue

People who are helping to find and recover dead bodies from the Supernova music festival area have stopped their search because they are being attacked by militants. At least 260 people died at the festival on Saturday.

Yossi Landau, who leads a group of volunteers called Zaka, says that his team of 25 people have found and brought back 162 bodies from the festival location. But after that, they were not able to find any more.

“We had to leave that place quickly because it was under attack,” Landau explained to the BBC’s Today show.

A group of 600 volunteers who are trained by the army work together to find and bring back the bodies of people who have died. They do this because it is important for religious reasons to bury the person in the same way that they were when they were alive.

Video from Saturday showed the people at the festival running when the attacks started.

According to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), around 73,000 people are currently staying in schools for shelter.

Adnan Abu Hasna, who speaks on behalf of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), believes that the number of refugees will increase.

“He says that we give power to these schools, we give them food, clean water, help with feelings, and medical care. ”

In Gaza, there are 2. 3 million Palestinian people. Israel told people in certain areas to leave before they attacked with air strikes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that he is warning the people of Gaza to leave immediately, as they are preparing to take action with full force in all areas.

Israel claims this is its 9/11 while combat rages on its soil

The Israeli army says that the unexpected planned attack by Hamas on Saturday reminds them of the September 2001 attack on the United States.

“This is like our own version of the 9/11 tragedy – they have harmed us,” says a representative, while another person compares it to the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack.

Israel says they have taken back control of their communities near Gaza, but there are still some militants who are still active.
Over 700 people have died in Israel since Hamas started their attacks on Saturday, with 260 of them being at a music event.

The Israeli government said that over 100 Israelis have been “kidnapped” in the attacks. It is believed that most of them have been taken to Gaza.

Almost 500 people in Gaza have lost their lives because Israel attacked back with large airstrikes.
Israel says that there are air raid sirens going off in Jerusalem and other parts of the country because rockets are being launched from Gaza.

Israel’s Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has made a decision to enforce a “complete siege” on the Gaza Strip. This means that they will deny access to electricity, food, and fuel in that area.

Just as a reminder – Israel has authority over the airspace above Gaza and its shores, and it decides who and what can come in or go out through its border crossings.

Egypt has power over who can enter and leave its border with Gaza.

People who work on a farm in Mivtahim, a town close to the Gaza Strip, said that Hamas fighters came to their farm after rockets were shot in the early morning on Saturday.

The Hamas fighters shot a rocket at us before attacking our farm. I had to quickly go and hide in my bedroom, Udomporn Champahom told the BBC on Saturday.

Mr Udomporn was saved by soldiers from Israel after. He said that his friend from Thailand who was with him at that time is getting better from a gunshot injury on his leg that is as big as a bottle cap.

Another worker from Thailand said to the BBC: “I was running and crawling under a truck, then the Hamas group pulled me out and aimed a gun at me from very close before shooting into the ground. ” This worker, who chose not to reveal their name, was later able to get away.

Wanida Armasa told BBC Thai that her husband, Anucha Angkaew, had been working on an avocado farm for nearly two years. He was one of the people who were kidnapped by the militants.

Ghana unequivocally condemns attacks against Israel – Foreign Affairs Ministry

Amidst the recent escalation of tensions between Israel and Palestine concerning the Gaza Strip, the Ghanaian government has reiterated its support for Israel following a deadly attack by Hamas militants on southern Israel.

Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip reportedly crossed into southern Israel, launching an assault on innocent Israeli civilians.

Israel has reported over 600 casualties and 100 abductions in the wake of these attacks.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Palestinian officials have stated that at least 313 people have lost their lives due to retaliatory Israeli airstrikes.

In a statement released on Sunday, October 8 by Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, the government said, “Ghana unequivocally condemns the attacks and calls on the Hamas leadership to immediately cease the attacks and withdraw its militants from southern Israel.”

“While Ghana affirms its support for Israel’s right to exist and defend itself, it calls on the Israeli government to exercise restraint in its response to Hamas attacks” the statement noted.

However, the government of Ghana has issued a call for both sides involved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to come back to the negotiating table.

  • US ships draw closer to Israel after Hamas attack

US ships draw closer to Israel after Hamas attack

The US is moving a big ship, other smaller ships, and planes to a place called the eastern Mediterranean. They are also giving Israel more stuff like tools and bullets.

This means that after Hamas attacked southern Israel, President Biden said it was a very bad and shocking attack that had never happened before.

A representative from US National Security said that some Americans were killed.

Israel says that over 700 people have lost their lives, and around 100 individuals have been taken against their will.

In Gaza, over 400 people were killed because of Israeli air strikes, say Palestinian officials.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the USS Gerald R Ford aircraft carrier, a type of ship that carries airplanes, along with a missile cruiser and four missile destroyers, are going towards that area. He said they would send fighter planes too.

The White House said it would send more help to Israel’s military soon. They want to make sure that Israel’s enemies cannot take advantage of the situation.

The US is sending a lot of troops because they are worried that the fight between Israel and Hamas could spread to other nearby areas.

Specifically, the United States is very interested in stopping Lebanon’s influential Hezbollah group from getting involved in the conflict. Iran supports and provides money and weapons to Hamas.

The President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, has said he supports the attack by Hamas. He believes that Israel should be punished for putting the region in danger.

Hamas claimed that Iran provided them with support to carry out their attack. Their attack included using rockets, drones, and militants on paragliders. They managed to break through Israeli border fortifications around the Gaza Strip with the help of hundreds of fighters.
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said that there is no clear proof that Iran is directly involved, but they have been supporting the Gaza-based group for a long time.

Hamas relies on Iran’s support for its existence. We don’t have proof that Iran was responsible for this attack or involved in it yet. “But the help and assistance have been evident for many years,” he said during an interview on US television.

During a meeting at the United Nations Security Council, Iran said that they were not involved in the attack on Israel.
Many people are still unaccounted for. One of the people involved was a 23-year-old man named Hersh Golberg-Polin from America and Israel. He was at a music festival in the desert when a group of violent people attacked.

His mom and dad told the Jerusalem Post that they got two messages from him. One said “I love you” and the other said “I’m sorry. ”

There are now reports about other North Americans who are also missing, such as peace activist Vivian Silver.

A Canadian friend of a 75-year-old woman named Ms Silver said that she called her sister on Saturday morning. She told her sister that Palestinian militants were knocking on her door.

“He said there was a lot of noise and shouting, Vivian was fighting, and then the phone suddenly turned off. ”

Israel’s ambassador to the US, Michael Herzog, said to CBS News that he knows Americans were among the soldiers and civilians who were taken away in southern Israel, but he doesn’t know more information about it.

The United States gives a lot of money to Israel every year to help with their military. Israel is a very good friend of the United States. Since World War Two, Israel has received the most foreign aid from the United States.

The UN Security Council is going to have a meeting in New York soon to talk about the fighting happening in Israel and Gaza.

  • Israel floods Gaza’s hospital with bomb strikes

Israel floods Gaza’s hospital with bomb strikes

People in Gaza were happy on Saturday morning because Hamas shot many rockets at Israel and also attacked across the border, which killed people.

The next day, things looked completely different.

After the Israelis kept firing bombs, the people stayed inside their homes. There were more explosions on Sunday.

The noise was really scary. Buildings in the Gaza Strip were covered in thick, black smoke.

The military of Israel claims to have attacked more than 1,000 places in Gaza. These targets are places like military bases, houses where Hamas leaders live, and banks that are controlled by the militant group.

On Sunday morning, Israel carried out a notable attack on the Watan Tower in Gaza. This tower is an important place where internet providers are based.
Palestinian health officials are saying that over 400 people have died in Israeli air strikes on Gaza as a form of retaliation.

Many places don’t have electricity because Israel stopped giving Gaza power. Gaza’s supplier can only give 20% of the electricity they need.

We no longer have enough food and water.

On Sunday morning, while driving through the city center of Gaza, I noticed that roads were blocked by piles of debris. Stores were not open, except for a couple of bakeries where there were lines of people waiting.

The situation in Gaza has gotten even worse because of the increase in tension or conflict, which has made the already bad humanitarian conditions even more difficult.

The hospitals that don’t have enough resources are struggling to provide healthcare to a population of over two million people. They are desperately asking for people to donate blood.

Mahmoud Shalabi, who works for a charity called Medical Aid for Palestinians, called the main hospital in Gaza a “slaughterhouse”.

He said that a lot of people were lying on the ground in the emergency department. Shalabi said that there were a lot of dead bodies in the morgue and the medical staff were overwhelmed with the large number of injured people they were getting.
Later on Sunday, people in a certain area of Gaza City got text messages from the Israeli army telling them to go to a safe place before there would be attacks.

Over 20,000 people went to United Nations locations in the area, a UN spokesperson informed the BBC.

Hamas has been in charge of Gaza for the last 17 years. They are aware of what happens when they attack Israel, so they must have been prepared for the strong response from Israel.

The group supported by Iran has clearly stated that it is ready to fight against Israel. Hamas claims that it has been secretly bringing in weapons, even though there is a blockade by Israel and Egypt, and that it has been building up its own collection of weapons.

The group has promised to keep doing what they call “counter attacks”. After a break on Saturday night, it stated that it had shot 100 rockets at the southern Israeli town of Sderot.

People who live in Gaza have different feelings about this big conflict that has never happened before. Some people think that Hamas’ rocket attacks are a reason to be happy, but many are afraid that the fighting will go on for a very long time.

Panic and fear in Gaza as Israel retaliates

People in Gaza celebrated on Saturday morning after Hamas launched deadly cross-border operations and fired thousands of rockets into Israel.

The situation has drastically changed after a day.

People have been staying indoors following a night of nonstop Israeli shelling. All through Sunday morning, there were more explosions.

The noise has been really ominous. All around the Gaza Strip, structures have been engulfed in clouds of black smoke.

Since previous night, according to Hamas, 150 targets had been attacked. These include military installations, the residences of the militant group’s top officials, and banks controlled by Hamas.

The Watan Tower, a focal point for internet service providers in Gaza, was the target of one of this morning’s most serious Israeli strikes.

According to Hamas, more than 300 people have died in Israel’s attacks. About half of these victims are civilians, including women and children.

Many places don’t have electricity because Israel has stopped giving power to Gaza. The supplier in Gaza can only give 20% of the electricity that is needed.

Food and drink supplies have been reduced.

This morning, as I was driving through the centre of Gaza city, I noticed that roads were blocked by pieces of broken buildings. The stores were not open, except for a few bakeries where many people were waiting in line.

The situation in Gaza, which was already very bad, has become even worse because of the escalation.

The hospitals that don’t have enough supplies, and already have difficulty providing healthcare to a population of over 2 million, are urgently asking for people to donate blood.

Mahmoud Shalabi, who is in charge of a charity called Medical Aid for Palestinians in Gaza, called the city’s main hospital a place where many people are being killed.

He said that lots of people were lying on the ground in the emergency department. “Mr Shalabi said there were a lot of dead bodies in the morgue and the medical staff couldn’t handle all the injured people coming in. ”
On Sunday, the Israeli army sent text messages to residents in a certain area of Gaza City, telling them to find shelter before attacks occur. Over 20,000 individuals went to United Nations places in the area, as mentioned by a UN representative to the BBC.

Hamas has been in charge of Gaza for the last 17 years. They are aware of the outcome of attacking Israel, so they must have anticipated big strikes in response.

The group supported by Iran has stated that it is ready for a conflict with Israel. Hamas said it has been secretly bringing in weapons despite the blockades by Israel and Egypt and making its own collection of weapons.

The group has promised to keep doing what they call “counterattacks”. After a break during the night, it claimed to have shot 100 rockets towards the southern Israeli town called Sderot.

Regular people in Gaza have different feelings about this conflict, which has never happened before. Some people were happy about Hamas’ rocket attacks, but many think that the violence will go on for a very long time and that’s concerning.

Israel attack: PM declares Israel at war after 250 people killed in Gaza onslaught

Around 250 people were killed and 1,590 were injured in Israel when the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched its largest attack in a long time.

Many armed people from Gaza sneaked into towns in southern Israel when it was still dark outside. There were lots of rockets being shot during this time.

They captured Israeli soldiers and civilians and took them to Gaza.

Israel has attacked Gaza with multiple air strikes. According to doctors, this has caused the death of 232 people and injured 1,600.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is in a state of war and promised that Hamas, which governs Gaza, will face a very high cost for their actions.

The military in Israel has called upon many extra soldiers and is getting ready to start an operation in Gaza.

Right now, there is still fighting happening with militants who are still in some parts of southern Israel. Many rockets are being shot at cities and towns in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Rishon Lezion, during the evening.

Israel had a really bad situation happen – Palestinian militants with weapons were running around in the southern part of the country. This started on Saturday, which is the Jewish holy day and the festival of Simchat Torah.

Many people think that many gunmen went into Israel from different places. Some people broke through the fence around Gaza and others came in by boat.

It’s not clear how they were able to get through one of the strongest borders in the world.

Videos posted on social media showed shooting happening in Israeli villages and towns, like in the town of Sderot, which is very close to Gaza, only about 1. 6km away

Some people from different communities called Israeli news stations and said that they were stuck inside their homes or hiding in safer places.

I went outside and saw many dead terrorists, innocent people, and damaged cars with bullet holes. Many people’s bodies are crowded in Sderot and along the road, and in other places too, said Shlomi, a resident of Sderot.

Ofir Liebstein, who was the leader of a local council in southern Israel, was shot and killed during a fight with armed attackers while trying to protect his community.

Videos were shown of Israelis being taken as hostages, which was a completely new and unusual situation.
The BBC knows that militants have captured many soldiers and civilians. Some people were believed to be in small Israeli towns near the border, while others were taken to Gaza.

Hamas said it caught 53 “prisoners of war” including important officers, and they are keeping them in tunnels. In the past, the Israeli military has often attacked these tunnels during conflicts with militants in Gaza.

An Israeli military spokesperson said that both soldiers and civilians had been taken by force, and some soldiers, including Colonel Jonathan Steinberg, who was leading the Nahal infantry brigade, had been killed. But he said that the reports about a high-ranking military leader being taken against their will were not true.

Videos were also shared online showing Palestinians driving Israeli military vehicles that they had taken in Gaza.
At the same time that the group entered secretly, fighters in Gaza began firing many rockets towards Israel, even reaching cities like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

A few rockets got past Israel’s missile defense system, called Iron Dome, and caused damage to people’s homes and cars.

People who live in Tel Aviv said that they couldn’t remember a time when the streets were locked down and empty for such a long time.

“According to Gideon Levy, a writer and reporter from England, people are feeling a strong sense of surprise, shock, and fear about something that is going to happen in the future. ” “When the first rockets landed, I was still running in the park, and the noise was really loud. ”
During a meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that their main goal is to remove the hostile forces that entered their land and bring back safety and peace to the towns that were attacked.

Our second goal is to make the enemy pay a high cost in the Gaza Strip. The third goal is to strengthen other areas so that no one accidentally joins this war.

Many Israeli warplanes and other aircraft are bombing Gaza because of an attack, which is causing big explosions.

The Israeli military attacked 17 locations where Hamas soldiers train and four places where they plan their activities. They called this action “Operation Iron Swords”.

Afterwards, rockets destroyed the 11-story Palestine Tower in the center of Gaza City. The tower is home to Hamas radio stations on the top floor.

The Israeli air force attacked two buildings that were being used by high-ranking members of Hamas for terrorist activities. They told the people inside to leave before the attack.

Medical aid organization Medecins Sans Frontieres has stated that two healthcare workers, specifically a nurse and an ambulance driver, lost their lives due to Israeli attacks on two hospitals in Gaza.

According to Wafa, a news agency in Palestine, 10 regular people died when a house in the Shabora area of Rafah, in the southern part of Gaza, was attacked.

When it became nighttime, the electricity company in Israel turned off the power to Gaza. The power company in Gaza stated that most of the electricity in the area, around 80%, is supplied by Israel.

There was fighting in many places in the West Bank on Saturday. Palestinian doctors said that six Palestinians were killed after they got into fights with Israeli soldiers and got shot.

Hamas leader Mohammed Deif asked all Palestinians to join their military operation.

“We have decided to stop these actions by Israel, with God’s assistance. This is so that the enemy realizes they can no longer cause destruction without facing consequences,” he stated.

Ismail Haniyeh, who leads Hamas from outside of Palestine, said that groups in Palestine want to make the violence bigger by including the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Ghazi Hamad, a person who speaks for Hamas, said in an interview with the BBC that Iran supports the attack. Iran promised to support the Palestinian fighters until Palestine and Jerusalem are free.

The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, who disagrees with Hamas, said that the Palestinian people have the right to protect themselves from the harmful actions of settlers and occupation soldiers.

Many countries around the world strongly disapprove of the attacks made by Hamas.

“He said that terrorist attacks are never justified, and his administration strongly and consistently supports the security of Israel. ”

The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, expressed shock about the news that innocent people have been attacked and taken away from their houses.
