“We prayed, our fans prayed. And God answered. Rejoice with us as we welcome our beautiful daughter,” he wrote.

He disclosed “Universe Ifeyinwa Storm Yul-Edochie” as the name of their bouncy baby girl.

The comment session under his Instagram post has since been flooded with congratulatory messages.

Yul Edochie was initially married to May Edochie, with whom he shared a long union of close to 20 years.

May often stayed away from the limeslight , supporting Yul’s career from behind the scenes while he rose to fame in Nollywood.

However in April 2022, Yul shocked the public when he announced that he had taken a second wife known as Judy Austin and welcomed a son with her.

In response, Yul Edochie expressed her pain and disapproval publicly. She revealed in a post that she had no prior knowledge of her husband’s intention to marry a second wife and described the situation as a betrayal.

She emphasized her belief in monogamy and made it clear she would not be part of a polygamous marriage.

Madam May gained massive support from the public, with many rallying behind her as a symbol of grace and dignity.

Later in March 2023, Yul and May’s first son, Kambilichukwu, passed away after reportedly collapsing while playing football in school.

The heartbreaking incident drew attention to the family and deepened public sympathy for madam May.

Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has opened up about his spiritual journey, revealing why he transitioned from Christianity to embracing traditional worship.

In 2023, the actor publicly declared his calling to Christian ministry, announcing plans to establish his own church. However, in a surprising turn, he recently disclosed that despite preaching the gospel, he felt an overwhelming sense of emptiness.

“I felt incomplete,” he confessed, explaining that his search for fulfillment led him to seek divine direction. According to Edochie, during this period of spiritual unrest, he received a message from God urging him to reconnect with his ancestral roots in Nteje, his hometown.

“Then God said to me, ‘Go home and know about your people. You cannot be preaching about the people of Israel, yet you know nothing about the people of Nteje. Go home and learn the traditional worship and ways of your people, for they’re approved by God,’” he revealed.

Edochie clarified that his decision was not a rejection of Christianity but rather a realization that traditional worship is equally recognized by God. He emphasized that since making this shift, he has found a sense of spiritual completeness that had previously eluded him.

“Now, I feel whole,” he stated, noting that embracing his ancestral beliefs has given him a deeper connection to his heritage and a renewed sense of belonging.

His revelation has sparked mixed reactions, with some applauding his boldness in embracing his cultural roots, while others question the authenticity of his spiritual transformation. Despite the controversy, Edochie remains steadfast in his belief that he is following divine instruction.

Answer your true calling – Yul Edochie advises pastors to reconsider their spiritual paths

Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has sparked controversy by asserting that many Nigerian pastors were originally destined to be native doctors.

Edochie claims that these pastors shifted their paths away from their true calling due to the negative portrayal of native doctors by Western influences and the film industry, which labeled them as “evil”.

He has urged some Nigerian religious leaders to reconsider their allegiance to Christianity and embrace their roles as native doctors instead.

Edochie highlighted that being a native doctor is a divine calling, emphasizing their crucial role in serving humanity.

On his Instagram page, Edochie wrote, “Many pastors today actually have the calling to be native doctors, but they are refusing to answer the call because Oyibo people brainwashed us to believe it is evil. And Nollywood has also contributed to making native doctors look evil.

“Being a native doctor is a divine call from God Almighty; it means you have been chosen to help humanity.

“A true native doctor fights evil. Unless he decides to be evil. Same way a pastor can decide to be evil.

If that doesn’t work out either, move on again. You could end up marrying fifty times if necessary. You can’t control how people respond to you.

“What brings happiness varies from person to person, so don’t let anyone dictate what will make you happy.

The ongoing saga of Nollywood star Yul Edochie‘s divorce from his wife May has gripped the public’s attention, with recent developments causing a delay in legal proceedings.

Due Process Advocates (DPA) Organization, headed by Emeka Ugwuonye, revealed that Yul’s legal representative was notably absent during the divorce hearing on May 7, 2024.

The attorney, Judy Austin, had cited illness, prompting the court to reschedule the trial.

While Yul was present in court, the absence of his lawyer prevented substantial matters from progressing.

The DPA Organization expressed concern over the repeated delays, emphasizing the case’s complexity involving social media behavior, child welfare, marital assets, May’s safety, and the marriage’s status.

“Nevertheless, we maintain our trust in the court’s ability to administer justice in due time. The case encompasses multiple facets, including the parties’ social media conduct, the children’s welfare, marital assets, May’s safety, and the ultimate determination of the marriage’s status.”
Despite frustrations over the delays, the DPA Organization urged trust in the court’s ability to deliver justice.

They reassured the public of May’s well-being and cautioned against unreliable online rumors.

The divorce proceedings stem from Yul Edochie’s announcement in April 2022 of Judy Austin as his second wife, which sparked controversy.

May Edochie responded by initiating legal action in August 2023, leading to the ongoing courtroom drama.

In a previous court session, Yul clarified that he and Judy Austin were not married but collaborated professionally on skits, adding layers to the intricate legal battle.

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has proposed that seeking support or guidance from one’s hometown or ancestral roots can be crucial at times.

He suggests that even fervent prayers may not always yield solutions to one’s problems.

However, by visiting their hometowns and posing the necessary questions, individuals can often find the right answers.

This, he believes, increases their likelihood of overcoming recurring challenges and attacks of various kinds.

He wrote on Instagram ” Prayer is good, But sometimes the answer to your problems lies in your village. Go home and ask questions. For some families, death has become a recurring thing. They have prayed for so long yet nothing has changed. Go to your village and ask questions. Do some consultations. Many anwers lies there.”

I’m not married to Judy Austin; we’re just skit makers – Yul Edochie

Actor Yul Edochie has publicly denied being married to Judith Austin, despite the existence of their two children.

The revelation comes amid an ongoing divorce case filed by Yul’s estranged wife, May Edochie, who initially considered pressing bigamy charges against him.

May’s legal team, led by Emeka Ugwuonye of Due Process Advocates, disclosed the developments, asserting that Yul and Judy insisted their relationship was solely for skitmaking and lacked any legal recognition.

The court proceedings, scheduled for March 5 at the FCT High Court, faced an unexpected setback attributed to Yul and Judy.

In response to the divorce petition, Yul categorically denied the alleged traditional marriage ceremony with Judy in April 2022, accusing the Gistlover blog of promoting false information.

Judy echoed the denial, emphasising that there was no such ceremony between them.

Citing Yul’s filing, May’s lawyer detailed how the actor denied his marriage to Judy.

He said Yul wrote, “That since the news of the birth of Star in June 2021, Gistlover, as a negative blog that thrives in fake and manipulated information for financial gains, has been negatively exploiting every movie or skit featuring me and Judy and generating social media traffic for financial gains.”

May’s lawyers emphasised that the focus of the case is on divorce grounds of adultery and damages to be claimed from Judy, the alleged adulterous partner.

“May Yul-Edochie has nothing further to prove. Yul and Judy admitted in their sworn statements that they had a child together. That is conclusive evidence of adultery, which is the basis of May’s petition. The law does not require a person to prove what the other party has admitted or conceded,’’ her lawyers said.

Despite Yul and Judy denying any marital connection, May argues that their sworn statements acknowledging their child together serve as conclusive evidence of adultery.

The legal battle unfolds as May Edochie seeks justice in court, accusing her estranged husband and Judy of wrongdoing, while Yul maintains the relationship is confined to skitmaking.

The comedian’s lawyers allege that Samuel, in a video titled “AY comedian where is your wife” on Facebook, falsely claimed that AY Makun was having an affair with the first wife of his colleague Yul Edochie.

Additionally, Samuel accused AY Makun of being responsible for the marital issues between Yul and May Edochie, suggesting that the actor had plans to marry May after her divorce from Yul.

The legal statement from AY Makun’s lawyers highlighted the intentional and false nature of Samuel’s statements, which they believe were aimed at generating traffic and views for his page while causing harm to AY Makun’s reputation.

The lawyers assert that these allegations have adversely affected AY Makun’s personal life, career, integrity, and reputation among friends, business associates, and the general public.

AY Makun and his legal team have called upon the Delta State Police Command to arrest, investigate, and prosecute Agozi Samuel for his defamatory actions.

In a subsequent video circulating on social media, Samuel is seen publicly apologizing to AY Makun, attributing his actions to economic hardship in Nigeria.

He admits to making the unfounded allegations for clout and financial gain, expressing remorse and pleading for forgiveness from AY Makun.

Amidst the controversies surrounding Yul Edochie‘s second marriage, Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie has clarified his stance on not openly opposing the decision.

During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Pete was asked about his choice to not marry a second wife. He explained that since his wife had already given birth to five sons, he saw no reason to pursue another marriage.

The actor said he wouldn’t oppose polygamy because people who take second wives do it for a variety of reasons.

He went on to give the example of a man whose wife forbade him from having sex, forcing him to wed a second one.

Pete Edochie stated that because he never saw his father treat his mother poorly, he was raised to respect and love women.

He said: “The people who take second wives know best why they take second wives. I don’t have any need for a second wife. For me, I mean I have a wife who has given me five sons, what am I going to look for a second wife for? No it’s not necessary. I will not condemn polygamy, no, because people have their reasons for what they do, right. I know a man who has one wife and she is a very proud woman and she just keeps denying him sex you know, and so he went out, saw a pretty girl who sells petrol, fell in love with her or confessed love to her and went to her father, paid the bride price. Rented an apartment for her and she was making babies for him and then the wife kept preventing him from getting intimate with her and all that.

“One day, the man just left the house, came back with this woman and 3 sons, ‘This is my second wife o, so you have to cope with it.’ My wife just came in now, she’s a lawyer. I have lived with this woman for the past 53 years. Nobody has ever come in here to say ‘oh please Pete stop beating her, you will kill her’. No, why? I never saw my father beat my mother so I cannot say I learnt from my father how to beat mama, No, I did not. I love women a great deal and I respect them. If I see any young man beating up a woman, oh my God . You know, I just think you don’t qualify to be a man.”
