My son’s father is not for social media – Mzbel responds to critics

Ghanaian singer and media personality Mzbel has finally spoken out about ongoing speculations regarding the father of her son, Adepa.

Addressing the rumors, she made it clear that she has no intentions of revealing his identity to the public.

In a recent statement, Mzbel recalled the last time she saw musician Castro before his mysterious disappearance. According to her, their last encounter was during the funeral of Ronny Coaches, a member of Buk Bak, when they worked together on a tribute song.

“The last time I saw Castro was when Ronny Coaches passed away, and we composed a tribute song. I haven’t set my eyes on him since,” she revealed.

She clarified that her son was born six years after her friendship with Castro ended, dismissing assumptions that he could be the child’s father.

“People assume he is the father because we were once close, but I will not disclose who my son’s father is on social media. The attention usually does more harm than good,” she stated.

Mzbel emphasized that keeping her son’s father out of the spotlight is a personal decision, as neither she nor the father wants unnecessary public scrutiny.

“Once people find out, he becomes the center of attention, and his private life will be scrutinized. He doesn’t want that, and neither do I. However, this is my personal business, not something for social media,” she added.

Mzbel’s statement comes amid persistent curiosity from the public, but she remains firm in her stance to keep certain aspects of her personal life private.

Explain ‘Makoma’ snub from Telecel Ghana Music Awards – King Paluta to Charterhouse

Rapper King Paluta has formally petitioned the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) board over the exclusion of his hit song “Makoma” from the list of nominees.

In a letter dated March 18, 2025, the management of King Paluta expressed their disappointment that despite submitting “Makoma” for consideration in multiple categories, the song was not nominated.

The categories included Most Popular Song, Record of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

According to the petition, the team believes “Makoma” was one of Ghana’s most popular songs during the year under review and generated significant excitement among music lovers.

They argue that the song meets all ethical and moral requirements of the board and are requesting a convincing explanation for the decision.

The management further urged the TGMA board to reconsider the song’s inclusion in the previously submitted categories, emphasizing their confidence in the board’s competence and fairness.

  • Support for gospel music in Nigeria is a challenge! – Nigerian Singer

Support for gospel music in Nigeria is a challenge! – Nigerian Singer

Nigerian gospel singer Pita has shed light on the difficulties faced by gospel artistes in Nigeria, especially in securing corporate sponsorship and consistent airplay.

Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, Pita contrasted the support for gospel music in Ghana with that of Nigeria, praising Ghana for embracing and promoting the genre.

“That’s one of the things I love about Ghana. Ghana is a country that really supports the gospel. In Nigeria, it’s a little bit different to get corporate sponsorship for gospel stuff, because they keep saying it’s a secular nation, we don’t do this. But here, I see some brands put their names to gospel stuff for us in the gospel space. In Nigeria, it’s a challenge,” he said.

Pita emphasized the need for gospel artistes and Christians in the creative space to develop stronger structures to sustain their work.

“Gospel artistes, Christians in the creative space, we need to put structures in what we do,” he stated.

Comparing airplay of gospel music in both countries, Pita observed that Ghanaian radio stations play Christian music throughout the day, whereas in Nigeria, it is mostly limited to Sunday mornings.

“You guys play Christian music throughout the day, but in Nigeria, you wait for Sunday. And some stations (in Nigeria), they can’t wait—once they play your music from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., their body is shaking, they want to start playing their secular… they move on,” he noted.

Beyond music, Pita also spoke about his experience in Ghana, commending the country’s culture and hospitality.

“Ghanaians are very polite people, well-mannered, and well-cultured. Ghana is expensive now o,” he remarked.

Pita was in Ghana for The Gratitude Concert, which took place on March 16, 2025, at the Keepers House Chapel in Accra.

How King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ wasn’t nominated is why I keep praying without ceasing – Delay

Media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has expressed her disappointment over the exclusion of King Paluta’s hit song Makoma from the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations.

Taking to her X page on Tuesday, March 18, Delay questioned the fairness of the selection process, stating that such incidents reinforce the need for constant prayer.

“How King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ wasn’t nominated is why I keep praying without ceasing. Under your very eyes, what belongs to you will be snatched away if you cease praying,” she wrote.

Her comment has sparked widespread discussion, with fans and industry stakeholders echoing similar sentiments. Many believe Makoma was one of the most popular and impactful songs of the year and deserved recognition.

Meanwhile, King Paluta and his team have officially petitioned the TGMA organizers, seeking an explanation for the omission. They revealed that the song was submitted for four major categories: ‘Most Popular Song of the Year,’ ‘Record of the Year,’ ‘Hiplife Song of the Year,’ and ‘Songwriter of the Year.’

According to the team, Makoma not only gained massive airplay and public appeal but also met all ethical and moral standards required by the awards scheme.

As reactions continue to pour in, many are calling on the TGMA board to ensure transparency and fairness in the nomination process.

“I have never seen a president so humble” – Kwaku Manu on Mahama’s conduct

Ghanaian actor and media personality Kwaku Manu has showered praises on former President John Dramani Mahama, describing him as one of the most humble leaders he has ever seen.

Speaking in a recent interview, Kwaku Manu expressed admiration for Mahama’s humility and respect for others, regardless of their status.

He noted that while many wealthy and powerful individuals lack respect, Mahama and his brother stand out for their down-to-earth nature.

“I just have a question: who raised the Mahama children? I have never seen a president who is so humble. There are people who have money and power, but they do not respect. But if you look at President Mahama and his brother, they are humble. They do not mind standing to greet anyone, no matter the person’s level,” he stated.

He went on to emphasize that Mahama’s humility was evident even before the elections and has remained unchanged after his victory.

“Before the elections, I saw that Mahama was very humble, but even after winning, he is still respectful. I am saying this because of a recent event where a chief approached Mahama to greet him, and the president himself stood up to greet him, despite the fact that it was a sub-chief. This is what we want in a president,” Kwaku Manu added.

His remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many applauding Mahama’s leadership style and respectful demeanor.

Beware of partners who don’t share social media jokes with you – Sonnie Badu warns

Popular gospel musician Sonnie Badu has urged people in relationships to be mindful of their partners’ communication habits, especially when it comes to social media interactions.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Badu emphasized that strong relationships and friendships are built on consistent communication, whether through talking, texting, or sharing content.

“Relationships and friendships are always built on communication. You gotta communicate every day. If you’re not talking, you’re texting. If you’re not texting, you have to find a way to communicate that greases the relationship,” he stated.

According to him, social media has become a significant part of modern relationships, with couples often bonding over shared jokes and viral content. However, he warned that if a person’s partner is not engaging with them in this manner, they might be doing so with someone else.

“If your wife, husband, boyfriend, or girlfriend is not sharing at least five or six jokes with you on WhatsApp or from social media, please understand that they’re sharing it with somebody else,” he cautioned.

Badu advised individuals to pay attention to these patterns, stressing that in today’s digital era, sharing content has become an essential way of maintaining connections.

“It is the new era we’re in, and it demands that you see what’s happening and you share it. If you’re not getting any jokes from your partner, your friend, your spouse, then there’s somebody they’re sharing it with, and it’s definitely not you. So start looking out for that,” he added.

His comments have since sparked discussions online, with many agreeing that social media habits can reveal a lot about a partner’s level of interest and engagement in a relationship.

  • Appreciate your team and stop painting them black to the public – Afua Asantewaa told

Appreciate your team and stop painting them black to the public – Afua Asantewaa told

Afua Asantewaa, the Ghanaian media personality and Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt holder for the longest singing marathon, has been advised to appreciate her team rather than publicly criticizing them. This follows recent statements she made that seemingly put her support team in a negative light.

In an interview, Afua Asantewaa suggested that lapses from her team contributed to her unsuccessful attempt to break the world record. Her remarks have sparked reactions from the public, with many urging her to acknowledge the efforts of those who worked tirelessly to support her challenge.

Industry stakeholders and fans have taken to social media to express their concerns, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in such endeavors. Some argue that while there may have been setbacks, publicly blaming her team could affect her credibility and future collaborations.

One of her team members, Lamisi Awinongya, expressed her disappointment over the situation, urging Afua Asantewaa to be grateful for the support she received.

“You had the goodwill of the people of Ghana from home and abroad. From the beginning of your attempt to the end, your hardworking team, which I was an instrumental part of, supported you. We sacrificed our services, time, and other resources to benefit you. Be grateful to the very team that stood by you from day one,” Lamisi said.

She added, “Appreciate every support that came your way. Good reputation pays. On this note, I, Lamisi Awinongya, haven’t taken any money from any individual or group during the Sing-a-Thon. It’s unfortunate that it has to get to this. You can attest to it that I wouldn’t have done this, but I have family and loved ones. Thank you, please stop this already.”

A section of the public believes that even though Afua Asantewaa’s concerns might be valid, addressing them in a more constructive and private manner would have been ideal. Others have advised her to reflect on the entire experience, appreciate her supporters, and make improvements for future attempts.

Afua Asantewaa’s singing marathon, which gained widespread attention both locally and internationally, saw significant support from various individuals, organizations, and well-wishers. Despite falling short of securing the world record, she was praised for her resilience and determination.

Many now hope that she will take the feedback in good stride, mend any rifts within her camp, and continue to work towards future successes with a united front.

    Background

Afua Asantewaa, in an interview on Accra FM, stated that she did not receive any cash donation from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Contrary to claims that she received huge donations from the previous government, Lamisi stated that no member of her team ever provided her with an account of any donations received during her participation in the Sing-a-Thon contest.

Afua claimed that all she received was medicine for her sore throat, which she directly received from the former vice president.

Shortly after, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, reiterated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former NPP flagbearer, indeed donated GH¢20,000 to support her Sing-a-Thon.

Socrate Safo, the former Director of Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture, also labelled her as ungrateful and accused her of lying.

Later, in her Instagram story, Afua Asantewaa accused Socrate Safo of being deceitful and taking advantage of her hard work.

Subsequently on UTV, while clarifying that her team only informed her about the donation on Saturday evening, Afua alleged that Socrate took GH¢10,000 out of the GH¢20,000 for claiming he had brought the vice president to her.

26th TGMA nominations released, but where is Sarkodie?

As fans gear up for the highly anticipated 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), the nomination list has been unveiled, sparking excitement across the industry.

However, amid the buzz, one notable absence has caught many by surprise—Sarkodie is missing from the ‘Artiste of the Year’ category for the first time in a decade.

Sarkodie is surprisingly missing from the category, sparking reactions online.

While some may not see this as an issue, it is a major surprise for many, as this marks the first time the ‘Illuminati’ hitmaker has not been nominated in this prestigious category in ten years.

Sarkodie earned his first nomination at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in 2010, with his debut album ‘Makye’ earning him eight nominations and five awards, including the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’ and ‘Discovery of the Year’ awards.

In 2012, Sarkodie continued his success with his Rapperholic album, securing 12 nominations and winning three awards, including ‘Artiste of the Year’ and ‘Most Popular Song of the Year’ for “U Go Kill Me.”

Although he missed out on the Artiste of the Year nomination in 2013, Sarkodie began an impressive streak starting in 2014, with his Sarkology album earning eight nominations.

Since then, he has consistently been a major contender, especially in the Artiste of the Year category.

However, 2025 marks the year he has been absent from that category.

Despite missing out on the top honour, Sarkodie earned other nominations at the awards, including Best Hiplife Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Hiphop Song, and Best Hiplife/Hiphop Song.

The TGMA 2025 nominee announcement, held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, March 15, 2025, saw the declaration of various artistes including Kweku Smoke, Team Eternity, Joe Mettle, King Paluta, King Promise, Stonebwoy, and Black Sherif, as contenders for the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year’ category.

The grand awards ceremony is set for May 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Before the main event, a pre-party on May 2 will gather nominees and key industry figures for networking and conversations.

Additionally, the nominees’ jam, popularly called the TGMA Xperience, is slated for Saturday, April 5, 2025.

  • We must hold the feet of the NDC to the fire – Afenyo-Markin

We must hold the feet of the NDC to the fire – Afenyo-Markin

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has emphasized the need for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be an active and vocal opposition, ensuring that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is held accountable.

Speaking on The KSM Show, the Effutu legislator acknowledged that the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections was a major setback, but he insisted that the party must remain resilient and strategically position itself for the future.

Reflecting on the election outcome, he admitted that the party had anticipated a stronger showing in Parliament, expecting to win between 100 and 130 seats. Instead, they managed only 61 seats—their worst parliamentary performance since 1997. Afenyo-Markin attributed this decline partly to a loss of support from the middle class and the youth, particularly due to dissatisfaction with the controversial Debt Exchange Program (DDE), which affected investors.

“We expected to win, but we didn’t. Even in Parliament, our performance was not what we anticipated,” he conceded. “The middle class, which is our base, does investments, and they lost out. Many were angry with us and decided not to vote at all.”

With the party yet to settle on a new leadership ahead of the 2028 elections, Afenyo-Markin believes Parliament remains the NPP’s strongest platform to stay relevant and engage with the electorate. He warned against complacency, stressing that the party must take an aggressive stance in opposition.

“But for the time being, the party base must be active. We need to hold the feet of the NDC to the fire, and I have to play my role as the minority,” he stated firmly.

Addressing concerns over his confrontational approach in Parliament, Afenyo-Markin defended his style, arguing that it is necessary to match the strength of the NDC’s parliamentary leadership. He noted that without a robust pushback, the NPP would struggle to counter the ruling party’s influence.

As the NPP navigates its path in opposition, Afenyo-Markin remains committed to revitalizing the party’s base while ensuring that the government is held to account. He believes that maintaining a strong parliamentary presence is crucial in shaping the party’s future and rebuilding public confidence.

  • Afua Asantewaa should get a spokesperson – Bullgod on GHS20K donation confusion

Afua Asantewaa should get a spokesperson – Bullgod on GHS20K donation confusion

Ghanaian artiste manager and entertainment analyst, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, widely known as Bullgod, has advised Guinness World Records contender Afua Asantewaa to consider hiring a spokesperson following the controversy surrounding a GH¢20,000 donation from former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Afua Asantewaa recently claimed in an interview with Nana Romeo that, aside from medication for a sore throat, she received no assistance from the previous government during her first sing-a-thon attempt. She denied receiving any cash donations or items from Dr. Bawumia, contradicting claims that the former Vice President had supported her cause.

Reacting to the development on United Showbiz on Saturday, March 15, Bullgod advised her to be cautious with her public statements, suggesting that she should let a professional handle her communications.

“She is a fine lady and should stop talking because what she is saying won’t help her. I would suggest she look for someone to do the talking on her behalf,” he stated.

His comments come after National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, refuted Afua Asantewaa’s claims, stating in a Facebook post that he personally handed over GH¢20,000 to her husband and father on behalf of Dr. Bawumia.

Bullgod described Afua Asantewaa’s statement as “ambiguous,” questioning how she could be unaware of a donation received by her own management team.

“It’s surprising that she only became aware that GH¢20,000 was donated to her team when she was about to speak to us,” he remarked. “Her husband is the one managing her, so as a manager, he leads the team. All that she is saying is ambiguous.”

He also reminded her of her experience working with industry professionals like Merqury Quaye, Nana Reagan, and George Quaye, advising her to be mindful of her words.

“She has worked with respected personalities in the media space, so she should be careful with her statements,” he added.

The controversy continues to fuel discussions in the entertainment industry, with many questioning the handling of communication regarding high-profile support for Afua Asantewaa’s record attempt.

  • ‘Be mindful of your words’ on Bawumia’s donation – Bullgod to Afua Asantewaa

‘Be mindful of your words’ on Bawumia’s donation – Bullgod to Afua Asantewaa

Ghanaian artiste manager and entertainment analyst, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, widely known as Bullgod, has advised Afua Asantewaa to be careful with what she says regarding the GH¢20,000 donation from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

She said, she did not receive any substantial gift from the then New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, except for medicine to soothe her sore throat, which was personally presented to her by Dr. Bawumia.

During a discussion on United Showbiz on Saturday, March 14, 2025, Bullgod characterized Afua Asantewaa’s as ‘unclear’ and lacking specificity.

He pointed out that her husband was actively involved in managing her team during the first sign-a-thon attempt, making it surprising that she claimed to be unaware of the GH¢20,000 donation made by former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to support her cause.

“It’s surprising that she became aware that GH¢20,000 was donated to his team just when she was about to speak to us. Her husband is the one managing her so as a manager he is the one leading the team. All that she is saying is ambiguous.

“She worked with big personalities in the media space such as Merqury Quaye, Nana Reagan, Geroge Quaye, and others so she should be mindful of her words,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has stated that he personally handed over GH¢20,000 to Afua’s husband and father on behalf of the former Vice President.

BullGod has therefore advised to be more mindful of her words.

Adding that Afua should refrain from making further public comments that could potentially harm her brand, stating that she should consider hiring a professional to speak on her behalf.

“She is a fine lady and should stop talking because what she is saying won’t help her. I would suggest she look for someone to do the talking on her behalf,” he added.

  • Dancers deserve recognition too – Quables to TGMA organizers

Dancers deserve recognition too – Quables to TGMA organizers

Talent manager and CEO of DWP Academy, Quables, is urging the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) to introduce a dance category, stressing that dancers play a vital role in promoting music.

He argues that while artists, producers, and directors receive recognition for their contributions, dancers—who help amplify songs through choreography and viral challenges—are often overlooked.

Speaking to GhanaWeb TV at the 26th TGMA nominees’ announcement on Saturday, March 15, 2025, Quables emphasized the impact of dance in the music industry.

“There are so many dance groups now, so many individuals doing well, and we are playing a very major role. Everybody knows how much dance contributes to this music industry. We are making songs go global. It’s not that the songs wouldn’t go without us, but dance is a tool. Videographers, producers, and directors all play their roles, and dancers do too. • We will organize seminars to restore lost identity of highlife in music industry – MUSIGA

We will organize seminars to restore lost identity of highlife in music industry – MUSIGA

The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has announced plans to organize seminars aimed at reviving the fading identity of highlife music in Ghana.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s Entertainment Lounge, hosted by Odefour DiAsa Paapa, Simons expressed concern over the genre’s gradual decline, noting that while highlife remains widely recognized, it is losing its stronghold as Ghana’s signature music style.

    “It is worrying,” he stated.

As part of efforts to preserve and promote highlife, MUSIGA is set to roll out a series of educational seminars to highlight the genre’s unique characteristics.

“We will start organizing seminars about highlife. We are also working on a documentary with Prof. John Collins for our Golden Jubilee to showcase how highlife has evolved over the years and the key elements that make it distinct,” Simons revealed.

He stressed that highlife is deeply rooted in Ghanaian culture and remains an integral part of daily life.

“Highlife music is played and consumed in every Ghanaian home. It is unique, and once you start singing on a highlife beat, everyone—whether Black or white—can relate to it,” he emphasized.

Simons further highlighted the genre’s rich instrumentation, pointing out its incorporation of various guitar styles such as Amponsah, Odo Nsor, and Dagomba rhythms.

“These elements are what make highlife special. That is why the seminar is very important—not just for Ghanaians but for anyone who wants to learn. Even in London, I saw white musicians traveling to Côte d’Ivoire to learn highlife guitar, and when they returned, they were playing highlife perfectly,” he noted.

Despite concerns over highlife’s diminishing prominence, Simons remains optimistic about its future. He acknowledged the contributions of renowned Ghanaian guitarists such as Odekro Kyekyeku and Aka Blay but stressed the need to train younger musicians to uphold the genre’s legacy.

“Fortunately, we have great guitarists like Odekro, Kyekyeku, and Aka Blay, who are holding the fort. But we need to start building the next generation so that Ghana can officially claim highlife as our musical hallmark,” he urged.

MC Yaa Yeboah questions police silence on Kofi Adomah’s shooting

Media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has expressed concern over the Ghana Police Service’s silence regarding the shooting incident that left broadcaster Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii with serious injuries.

Speaking on United Showbiz, aired on UTV on March 15, 2025, Yaa Yeboah questioned why the police have yet to provide any updates on their investigations or actions taken to apprehend the perpetrator.

“Why haven’t we heard from the police about Kofi’s case till date? Have they been forced not to work on the issue? Because that’s what it looks like. Even the recent Nungua shooting incident has seen the suspect remanded. So why hasn’t the person caught on camera in this case been arrested or dealt with?” she asked in Twi.

She further suggested that the lack of progress raises concerns about possible interference in the case.

“I don’t want to believe that some prominent individuals are lobbying for the case to be overlooked to protect the suspect. But how else do we explain this silence?” she questioned.

Yaa Yeboah urged the police to act swiftly, emphasizing that justice must prevail.

“As we speak, we don’t even know if the suspect has been arrested. There has been no police statement, absolutely nothing. The laws work in this country, so the police should act on it as quickly as possible,” she stressed.

  • It’s save to marry a virgin if you’re naive about sex – Assemblies of God pastor says

It’s save to marry a virgin if you’re naive about sex – Assemblies of God pastor says

Rev. John Kofi Bosomtwe of the Liberty Assemblies of God in Kumasi has advised men struggling with sexual inexperience or dysfunction to be mindful of their choice of a marriage partner.

According to the pastor, a man who is naïve about sex may find it easier to build intimacy with a virgin, as both partners would learn and grow together. However, he cautioned that marrying a woman with prior sexual experience could present challenges.

Speaking to his congregation in a viral video circulating on social media, Rev. Bosomtwe stressed that sex is a critical aspect of marriage and directly impacts relationship satisfaction.

“The mere fact that you can have an erection does not mean you are capable of having great sex. You need to know how to go about it very well. If you are naïve, marrying a virgin can sometimes save you. But it’s a problem when you marry someone who has already broken her virginity,” he stated during church service.

He urged men facing sexual difficulties to seek proper guidance rather than rushing into marriage without preparation.

“Seek guidance to learn how to handle the situation because the problem is that the woman you are marrying may already have experience. If she is a virgin, then there is no problem; you are safe. But if she has had previous sexual encounters, she may mock you during intercourse,” he cautioned.

The Assemblies of God pastor also highlighted the role of a satisfying sex life in fostering love and generosity between spouses.

“If you have good sex, men become more caring towards their wives and shower them with gifts,” he added.

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some agreeing with his perspective, while others argue that a healthy marriage should be built on communication, trust, and mutual understanding rather than sexual history.

Is Ajagurajah in the US to fight Young Don?

Ghanaian spiritual leader Bishop Ajagurajah’s recent trip abroad has sparked speculation about whether he is on a mission to confront US-based social media personality Young Don.

Ajagurajah fueled curiosity after sharing a video on TikTok, where he appeared in a hoodie and sweatpants, flexing his muscles in a foreign location.

This led many to question if he had traveled to the US, where Young Don resides, with some social media users joking that he had flown out to settle their long-running feud in person.

Young Don recently returned to social media after a six-month absence, during which rumors spread that he had been deported as part of President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

He, however, denied the claims in a video, insisting that his break was intentional. He also accused Ajagurajah of fueling the false reports.

The tension between the two dates back to 2023 when Young Don repeatedly criticized Ajagurajah online. In response, the spiritual leader warned that his words would have consequences. Ajagurajah later claimed that his spiritual powers had influenced Young Don’s rumored deportation, a claim that lost credibility after Young Don’s return.

Since reappearing online, Young Don has continued to take jabs at Ajagurajah, calling him out in several videos. While many expect a response from Ajagurajah, he has remained silent—except for his cryptic overseas trip, which has only deepened the speculation.

Band business now evolving after decline during Covid-19 pandemic – Afro Harmony

Ghanaian musical band, Afro Harmony, has reflected on the difficulties they faced in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, highlighting how the demand for live band performances plummeted as DJs dominated the entertainment space.

Speaking on the E Vibes Musical Band Series, the band’s deputy leader, Mac Hamlet, noted that the pandemic’s financial impact forced event organizers and venues to opt for DJs over live bands.

This shift, he explained, resulted in a decline in bookings for bands, making it a tough period for musicians who relied on live performances for their livelihood.

“From Covid time, it was not easy for bands, but right now it’s evolving. People and most companies now want to involve bands in their restaurants and clubs. Before, it was more about DJs, and that led to a decline in live bands. But now, it’s rising,” Hamlet stated.

Despite the challenges, he emphasized that there is no rivalry between bands and DJs. Instead, he revealed that both groups are now collaborating more, performing together at events to create a more immersive musical experience.

“After Covid-19, the need for bands declined a bit because of financial constraints. At some point, DJs were taking all the gigs, but lately, I can see that things are changing. We have been collaborating with DJs, playing gigs together, and it has been going well. There’s no bad blood between us,” he added.

This season of E Vibes is focusing on music bands in Ghana under the theme #MusicalBandSeries.

The program aims to celebrate and spotlight the journeys of Ghanaian musical bands, sharing their struggles, victories, and the unity that keeps them going.
