US citizen trapped in Turkish cave says he is well as rescue efforts go on

An American man got sick while exploring a very deep cave in Turkey. He said he is feeling okay, while rescuers are working hard to bring him back to the surface.

According to the Turkish Caving Federation, Mark Dickey got sick over the weekend while exploring the Morca Sinkhole in southern Turkey. Doctors think he might have bleeding in his stomach.

Dickey got sick 1,120 meters below the surface and was taken to the camp at 1,040 meters for monitoring. The federation said this on Twitter and mentioned that about 150 rescuers are working on a difficult operation to save him.

In a video posted by Turkey’s communication agency on Wednesday, Dickey said that he was in a dangerous situation but the fast actions of Turkish authorities probably saved his life.

As you can tell, I am awake, wide awake, and speaking. “But I haven’t healed emotionally yet, so I will need a lot of support to leave this place,” he said, expressing gratitude for the caving community.

This is a chance for people in the caving community to demonstrate how well people from different countries can collaborate. I want to see lots of people from different countries coming together. We look after our own people. “And it feels great to have someone taking care of you. ”

The rescue mission, which was first talked about on Monday, might take several days because the cave is deep and narrow, according to Bulent Genc, who leads the federation. Genc told CNN on Thursday that even in perfect conditions, it could take an experienced caver 15 hours to reach the surface.

A difficult rescue mission is happening deep underwater. The European Cave Rescue Association is helping and they said that it is not common to have rescues like this. They need to have experienced rescuers to help with the mission. They found out on Saturday that Dickey has bad stomach pain.

Gretchen Baker, who works with the National Cave Rescue Commission and has known Dickey for a while, has been talking to the rescue team. She is somewhat hopeful that Dickey will be able to come out of the cave safely.

During an interview with CNN’s Isa Soares on Thursday, Baker said that the people at the location are glad to see that Mark’s condition is getting better. It seems that he won’t have to be carried out on a rescue stretcher the entire way.

She said that if he can help more, the rescue will be faster.

Despite Dickey’s getting better, Baker said that even with his help, the rescue operation still has a long way to go.

“She said it will take several days to rescue him from the cave. ”

  • Rescuers race to free American trapped in Turkish cave

Rescuers race to free American trapped in Turkish cave

Rescue teams are quickly trying to help an American man who got sick while stuck in the third-deepest cave in Turkey, according to the Turkish Caving Federation.

Around 150 rescuers are working together to save Mark Dickey, who got stuck while doing research in Morca Valley, according to the Turkish Caving Federation. The plan to save or help people was first told to people on Monday.

The Turkish Caving Federation said on X (formerly known as Twitter) that during an exploration mission in the Morca Sinkhole, which is the 3rd deepest cave in Turkey with a depth of 1,276 meters (4,186 feet), a caver named Mark Dickey from America got sick at a depth of 1,120 meters (3,675 feet). He was taken to a camp located at a depth of 1,040 meters (3,412 feet) for observation.

The federation gave six units of blood to Dickey, who is believed to have bleeding in the stomach or intestines. The report said that he is stable and can walk by himself.

In a video posted by Turkey’s communication department on Wednesday, Dickey mentioned that he was feeling fine.

He said he was almost about to die, but the Turkish government acted quickly and saved his life.

You can see that I am awake, aware, and able to talk. “But I still feel emotionally hurt, so I will need a lot of assistance to leave this place,” said Dickey.

Even though they were deep underground, Dickey thought that the situation was a chance for the caving community to show how strong they were.

“I want to see a lot of people from different countries all coming together,” Dickey said. “We look after our own people. ”

Bulent Genc, the leader of the federation, said to CNN on Thursday that it might take many days to rescue people from the cave because it is very deep and narrow. Dickey will need to be moved a little bit in order to be put on a stretcher, Genc said.

Caving rescue workers from different countries have come to Turkey to help with the operation. These include rescuers from Hungary, Italy, Croatia, and the United States.

The Turkish Caving Federation said that the cave has small twisted paths and rappelling spots. They also mentioned that it takes an experienced caver 15 hours to get out of the cave under perfect conditions.

Gretchen Baker, from the National Cave Rescue Commission (NCRC), knows and has worked with Dickey for a long time. She has been talking to the rescue team and is cautiously optimistic that Dickey will come out of the cave safely.

During an interview with CNN’s Isa Soares, Baker mentioned that the people working there are pleased because it seems like Mark is getting better. This means he might not need a rescue litter for the whole journey back.

She said that if he can offer more help, the rescue will be completed faster.

Even though Dickey’s health is getting better, Baker said that the rescue operation still has a long way to go, even with his help.

“She said it will probably take several days to rescue him from the cave. ”

According to the European Cave Rescue Association (ECRA), performing a rescue mission at such a deep location is not common and is very hard. It requires a lot of highly skilled cave rescuers.

The organization got a phone call on Saturday saying that Dickey was having really bad stomach pain.

On Sunday, a group of people from the Hungarian Cave Rescue Service, including a doctor, went down into the cave and put up a tent to give important medical treatment, according to the ECRA.

On Monday, a group of 17 people, including a doctor and a paramedic from Bulgaria’s rescue team, arrived at the cave’s base location.

On Wednesday, teams from Italy, Croatia, and Poland were going to the base camp.

  • 64 people murdered in attacks in Mali, including dozens of civilians

64 people murdered in attacks in Mali, including dozens of civilians

Two attacks happened on Thursday in northeastern Mali by people connected to al-Qaeda. These attacks killed 64 people, including many innocent civilians, according to the country’s temporary government.

The attacks happened on a boat carrying passengers on the Niger River near Timbuktu. They also targeted an army base in Bamba, in the northern Gao region. According to the interim government’s statement, 49 civilians and 15 soldiers were killed in the attacks.

It wasn’t clear right away how many people died in each attack.

The Malian Army reported that a group of armed terrorists attacked a passenger boat at 11 a.m. The time in the Rharous Cercle area in the Timbuktu region.

The government explained that a militant group called Support Group for Islam and Muslims (GSIM), which is linked to al Qaeda, took responsibility for the attacks.

The government announced that the country will mourn for three days because there has been more violence lately. The country has already had two military coups in the past three years.

Mali is a country in Africa and is located in the Sahara-Sahel region. It is currently facing challenges from groups of armed extremists.

The United Nations said in June that a lot of violence is happening in northeastern Mali by the Islamic State (ISIS) militant group and its allies, and it does not seem to have an end. This violence is affecting and targeting innocent people.

Many experts are worried about how the situation in the troubled Sahel state is getting worse.

A report from the UN Security Council in August said that Islamic State in the Greater Sahara has gained control over twice as much land in Mali in less than a year.

The UN is worried about Mali’s armed forces and their foreign security partners hurting people’s rights.

Many Russian soldiers from a private military company called Wagner have been asked by the military leaders in Mali to come and help fight against a group of extremist Muslims called Islamists. We don’t know what happened to them after Wagner boss Yevgeny Prighozin died.

UN experts said in a report that violence against women and girls, as well as sexual violence related to conflicts, is still a big problem in Mali.

In June, Mali asked the UN peacekeeping force MINUSMA to leave the country as soon as possible. This is currently happening.

Mali’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Abdoulaye Diop, blamed the UN for making the security problems in the country worse.

Almost 9 million people in the country require help and support. UN agencies recently stated that 200,000 children are in danger of not having enough food to eat and could starve.

The United Nations said that if help doesn’t reach them, a lot of children under the age of five could suffer from severe malnutrition. This is because they are in an area with a long-lasting war, many people being forced to leave their homes, and it is difficult for aid to get to them.

  • UK police search largest park in London over escaped terrorist suspect

UK police search largest park in London over escaped terrorist suspect

Police in London are searching the city’s biggest park for a runaway suspect who escaped from jail by attaching himself to the bottom of a truck.

The police are looking for something in Richmond Park, which is in southwest London. This is because they saw the van that Daniel Khalife used to leave Wandsworth prison nearby.

Khalife, pretending to be a chef, planned and carried out a daring escape from Wandsworth prison on Wednesday morning. According to the UK’s PA Media news agency, a 21-year-old person who is currently in the British military is waiting for a trial on terror charges. They are accused of putting fake bombs at a military base.

A spokesperson from the Met Police said that the police activity in Richmond Park is connected to the search for Daniel Khalife when asked by the media.

There were a lot of police officers in the park all night and into Friday morning.

Richmond Park is the biggest of London’s Royal Parks. It is also called a National Nature Reserve. The park covers an area of 2,500 acres. This park is loved by families and people who want to get away from the city. It is well-known for having lots of deer living there.

The Metropolitan Police announced on Friday that they are investigating whether someone from Wandsworth prison assisted Khalife in his escape.

Mark Rowley, the head of the Metropolitan Police, said on a radio station called LBC that the escape from prison was clearly planned in advance.

“He mentioned that there are obviously some things to consider when strapping himself to the bottom of the wagon. The police will examine everything as part of their investigation. ”

Rowley said he was very worried that Khalife, who is accused of terror and Official Secrets Act crimes, is free and asked people in southwestern London to report any sightings of him.

On Thursday, the British government promised to find Khalife. This happened on the second day of the search.

On Thursday, the police explained step by step how Khalife managed to escape.

The soldier was reported as missing at 7:50 a. m, according to what they said. The police got a call 25 minutes later, and they found the delivery van at 8:37 a. mJust two miles to the east of the prison, located on a street in Putney, which can be found in southwest London.

At that time, Khalife had left and the only thing left from his escape was the strong belts found under the van.

British Justice Secretary Alex Chalk announced that the government will start a separate inquiry into the event. Speaking to the UK parliament on Thursday, Chalk mentioned that he had already requested an internal investigation regarding the choice to transfer Khalife to a less secure prison.

Opposition Members of Parliament in Britain criticized the ruling Conservative government after a prison escape. They accused ministers of causing serious problems for the judicial system because of years of financial cutbacks.

  • Arab residents of Israel seek justice over an alarming increase in gang-related killings

Arab residents of Israel seek justice over an alarming increase in gang-related killings

Standing at a protest in Haifa against the increasing crime in Arab communities in Israel, Abu Salah yells “Enough. Enough” in Hebrew with an Arabic accent.

We desire to have a tranquil and calm life. She wants to know who is responsible for all of this and why they would kill these children.

Abu Salah’s son Ali was killed last week while he was going to work. This happened one year after he was in prison. He is one of the recent people who were killed in a growing number of murders that specifically target Arab Israelis. Over 170 Arab Israelis have been killed this year, which is a much higher number compared to previous years (111 were killed in total in 2022).

Abu Salah says she was supposed to get ready for her son’s wedding. Instead, she went to a protest where many Israelis – both Jews and Arabs – came together to demand fairness and equality.

I am holding the police, government, law, and members of the Israeli Parliament responsible. “We need to find and catch all the people who are doing these awful things,” she explains. Why won’t they let my child live for a longer time. Why won’t they give him the chance for a future.

The family is from Israel and they are Arabs. Arabs make up about 20% of the population in Israel. Many people are able to speak Hebrew very well and consider themselves to be Palestinian. However, they express that they feel like they are not valued as much as Jewish Israelis, and they believe that Israeli authorities are not taking their situations as seriously.

Israeli officials say that the increase in violence is being driven by organized crime. Activists say that gangs take advantage of the fact that many young Arab-Israeli men are unemployed. These gangs act like loan providers and make shop owners and others pay money to them for protection. Arab towns in Israel are facing a problem of illegal guns. This is making people fearful of helping the police because they are afraid of retaliation.

Thabet Abu Rass, who helps run Abraham Initiatives, an organization that works for equal rights between Israeli Arabs and Jews, believes that a shortage of proper policing has caused a problem in the Arab community in Israel. Criminal organizations are taking over this space. And they are really doing everything, the criminal groups are guarding, they are collecting money for protection, they are harming people, they are lending money to people if they need it, but they are also bringing peace, harmony, and talking with people to resolve problems. Only criminal organizations are doing this job and no one else is doing it, Abu Rass says.

Abu Rass believes that the Israeli police are currently not strong because they are busy with political issues, protests against changes in the judicial system, and the increasing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians in the last year and a half. According to information from the Abraham Initiatives, not many of the recent murders have resulted in charges being made.

We feel like we are in different places than Jewish Israelis. We are not a part of Israel. But we are people who live in Israel and have the rights and responsibilities of being citizens. We want police to be fair and treat everyone equally,” Abu Rass says.

Lots of people who were hurt were chosen on purpose, either because they are in gangs that fight each other or for different reasons. But people who were not involved, even young children and toddlers, have also been killed, according to local authorities.

At the protest in Haifa last week, people carried white coffins for each of the victims up until now. Beside the victims were notes saying what they were doing when they were killed. “I went to get a pizza,” says someone. Another person says, “It was my special day when I was born. ” Many women wearing white robes held signs in three languages, Hebrew, Arabic, and English. The signs had messages like “Arab Blood Matters” and “Startup nation. More like innovation in discrimination. ”

Johara, the daughter of Badee’a Khnifes, was a person who worked against violence and fought for the rights of women. She took part in programs supported by the US State Department. She was only 28 years old when she died last year because a bomb went off under her car.

Khnifes, who is an Arab-Druze Israeli citizen, is wearing a white shirt with her daughter’s picture on it. She says that the police haven’t made much progress in solving her daughter’s murder, except for suggesting that it might have been a mix-up.

“I feel like a forgotten outsider in a very forgotten, controlling country,” she says. “I don’t feel like I fit in anywhere. ”

In the early 2000s, officials in Israel started a large-scale plan to address a high number of murders caused by organized Jewish criminal groups. In some situations, people were transported from the United States to Israel to be tried.

Arab Israelis like Khnifes want equal attention and effort to be given to this situation.

Khnifes says that in our Arab society right now, something similar to what happened 20 years ago is occurring in Israel. The police did a great job back then in dealing with criminal activities involving Jewish people. We all belong to the same group, we all live in the same place, but it doesn’t have any value. We are people who live in this country and are part of its government. I want them to treat me and my community the way they treat the Jewish community, because we are all like family.

Lots of people in this community, including Ahmad Tibi who is a member of parliament and Arab-Israeli, think that the current government is to blame. They say that it is the most right-wing government in the history of Israel. Israel’s police force is overseen by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who was previously found guilty of expressing hatred towards Arabs.

“He is the wrong person to be the National Security minister. Tibi thinks it’s ridiculous that Netanyahu selected this person for this job. This man, who has been declared guilty by the Israeli court for being a criminal and a terrorist, is currently in charge of the police force. He is fighting against the police, and they are fighting back, but unfortunately, both sides are not succeeding. And if we fail, it will result in a large amount of violence on our streets within our community.

The Israel Police, who have been doing many important operations to prevent crime in the Arab community, said no to CNN’s request to talk.

Ben Gvir said that the increase in crime is because the government has not paid attention to the problem for a long time and has ignored the signs that it was getting worse. He wants the Shin Bet, a security agency that deals with terrorism, to help solve these crimes. He said his idea for a new “national guard” would also be beneficial.

Last month, Ben Gvir said that there are criminal groups in the Arab sector who have armed militias with many soldiers and weapons. They are dangerous groups that cause harm and fear. When they use violence on the street, they will attack Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu created a team of ministers to help tackle crime in Arab communities.

He said that the increase in crime is a big problem for Israel. He said this during a meeting on Thursday.

On Thursday, the committee said they have plans to give police more advanced technology and tools to help them do their job. They also want to increase the amount of money that criminals have to pay if they are caught. The group also suggested that the police and Shin Bet should work together more closely. Netanyahu has also mentioned this idea in the past.

“We will do whatever it takes, including using the Shin Bet and the police, to stop this crime,” Netanyahu said last month when the director general of a mostly Arab city called Tira was killed. We have stopped criminal activities by groups of people in the Jewish community in Israel, and we will do the same for criminal activities in the Arab community in Israel. Every person in Israel should feel safe and not worried about terrorism inside the country.

This has caused some disagreement, including from Ronen Bar, who leads the Shin Bet, since their main job is to investigate terrorism. However, it is reported that he recently met with the leaders of Arab cities.

According to Israeli media, Bar said that if a country starts to consistently involve the Shin Bet in every difficult situation, it will become a completely different country.

No matter how they try to stop this increase in crime, Arab citizens in Israel believe it won’t be long before this problem affects their Jewish neighbors.

“Today, there is pain in the Arab society, just like there was 20 years ago in the Jewish society, and it will come back to the Jewish society,” Khnifes explains. “And I don’t want that. ”

The heavy rain started on Thursday night, with the Hong Kong Observatory measuring over 158 millimeters (6. 2 inches) of rainfall between 11 p. mThe government stated that the highest amount of rainfall in one hour since records started in 1884 occurred at midnight.

According to the OGimet weather website, certain areas of the city received almost 500 millimeters (19. 7 inches) of rain within a day.

The very bad weather surprised a lot of people who live here and happened shortly after the strongest typhoon in five years hit Hong Kong.

Typhoon Saola was a very strong storm that became weaker when it reached Hong Kong last weekend. However, it was still powerful enough to close the city and make hundreds of flights cancel. The typhoon caused harm to 86 individuals, according to the government.

On Friday, heavy rain caused a lot of problems for transportation and businesses in the financial hub. The stock market didn’t open in the morning and all schools were closed for the day. On Friday, officials asked companies to let non-essential workers stay home or find a safe place due to dangerous travel conditions.

Stuart Hargreaves, who lives in Hong Kong and works as a professor, had to sleep in his car because he got stuck and couldn’t go home on Thursday night. The roads were completely flooded and impossible to pass, according to him. At one time, the water was so high that it was flowing over the front of the car and he was worried it would damage the engine.

Many other cars were also flooded and floating close by, he said. He found a safe spot to park his car, but he couldn’t leave because there was no way to get out. He had to wait until morning to leave. He said that when he finally got home after nine hours, the road was covered in rocks from landslides, debris from trees, and abandoned cars.

As of Friday afternoon, Hong Kong’s Hospital Authority reported that 119 people have been hurt from the heavy rain. Four of them are in critical condition. The government said on Friday that they expect the harsh conditions to continue until at least midnight.

The city’s subway system, Mass Transit Railway, said it will stop running trains on one of its lines because a station in the Wong Tai Sin area got flooded. Videos online show water rushing down the stairs of the station. Another video shows workers at a different station standing in water that goes up to their knees. They are having a hard time trying to prevent the water from flooding in.

While some subway stations stayed open, the main bus, tram, and ferry services were stopped, says RTHK. Some buses started working again on Friday afternoon, but a lot of bus routes are still closed or going a different way.

Several roads were closed because there was a risk of landslides in the hilly area. The authorities gave a “black” rainstorm warning, which is the highest level of warning, for the first time in two years.

Videos from Thursday evening show water flooding into the first level of certain buildings and shopping malls. Objects like chairs and trash are spread out on the floor.

The government also said that the area called the northern New Territories may experience flooding. This area is next to China. This warning came after the nearby city of Shenzhen announced it would let water out from a reservoir.

The heavy rains in Shenzhen broke many city records for the most rain in two hours, three hours, six hours, and 12 hours. These records had not been broken since 1952.

to 5 a. mon May 20, which broke the record of the heaviest rainfall in a single day in the city’s history. Thursday until 6 in the morning. State media reported that on Friday, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools were closed. There was a problem with transportation there, and they had to stop running six subway lines.

  • Danny Masterson sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for rape

Danny Masterson sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for rape

US actor Danny Masterson has received a prison sentence of 30 years to life for the rape of two women. Masterson was known for his role on the TV series “That ’70s Show,” and the crimes occurred during the early 2000s.

Prosecutors argued that Masterson, who is 47 years old, used his status as a prominent Scientologist to evade accountability for his actions.

During the sentencing, Judge Charlaine Olmedo allowed the victims of Masterson’s crimes to share impact statements in court. Prominent former Scientologist and actress Leah Remini was in attendance at the hearing and offered support to the women before and after they delivered their statements.”I wished I had reported him earlier to the police,” one of the women said, according to US media.

Another woman told Masterson: “I forgive you. Your sickness is no longer mine to bear,” according to Reuters.

Throughout the hearing, Masterson maintained silence. When the judge delivered his sentence, which was the maximum penalty allowed, Masterson’s wife, Bijou Phillips, was visibly distraught in court, shedding tears.

Masterson’s conviction came in May after a re-trial, as the first jury in 2022 was unable to reach a verdict. Following his conviction, he was considered a flight risk and taken into custody.

The actor was found guilty based on the testimony of three women who stated that he sexually assaulted them at his Hollywood residence between 2001 and 2003, during the peak of his television career. The jury heard that he had administered drugs to them before the assaults. Masterson was convicted of rape in the cases involving two of the accusers. The charges related to the third accuser resulted in a mistrial, and prosecutors have indicated they do not intend to pursue a retrial for that particular case.

Alison Anderson, a lawyer representing two of the victims, said in a statement sent to BBC News that the women “have displayed tremendous strength and bravery, by coming forward to law enforcement and participating directly in two gruelling criminal trials”.

“Despite persistent harassment, obstruction and intimidation, these courageous women helped hold a ruthless sexual predator accountable today,” she said.

Throughout the trial, prosecutors argued that the Church of Scientology had helped cover up the assaults – an allegation the organisation has categorically denied.

At the time of the assaults, Danny Masterson and all three of his accusers were affiliated with Scientology. Some of the victims revealed that it took them years to come forward because officials within the Church of Scientology discouraged them from reporting the rapes to the police.

Prosecutors alleged that Scientology officials pressured one survivor to sign a non-disclosure agreement and accept a payment of $400,000 (£320,000) under the threat of losing her membership in the community.

During the trial, Judge Olmedo allowed both the prosecution and defense to discuss the beliefs and practices of Scientology, which sparked dissatisfaction within the organization.

Following the verdict in May, the Church of Scientology released a statement denying any involvement in harassment of the accusers, asserting that there was “not a scintilla of evidence supporting the scandalous allegations.”

Tory Lanez received a 10-year prison sentence last month in connection with the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion, who suffered a foot injury. Lanez had been incarcerated for approximately seven months awaiting sentencing. Currently, he is pursuing an appeal for his sentence and recently appeared in court to request bail. The sentencing has sparked significant online discussion, with numerous individuals debating whether a 10-year prison term is an appropriate punishment for Lanez.

New reports indicate that Tory Lanez had the chance to reduce his 10-year prison sentence significantly. As reported by VladTV, the district attorney extended a plea deal to the artist, which would have resulted in a four-year prison term. Surprisingly, Lanez declined the plea deal and opted to proceed with a trial. Regrettably for him, the trial did not lead to a reduced sentence, as he ended up serving the same amount of time that the plea deal would have required.

At the start of this month, Tory Lanez’s bail motion revealed a significant update: he and his fiancée, Raina Chassagne, are now married. Chassagne is also the mother of Lanez’s 6-year-old child. The motion further indicated that if Lanez were to be released from prison, he would reside in the Los Angeles area with his wife and their child.

In addition to this development, a documentary about the Tory Lanez shooting incident has recently been released. Discovery+ introduced “Megan Thee Stallion vs. Tory Lanez: Five Shots” earlier this month, with its premiere on September 4. The trailer for the documentary suggests that the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case is being referred to as the “biggest trial since O.J.” It promises to provide a balanced portrayal of both sides of the story, allowing viewers to form their own conclusions. Stay tuned to HNHH for further updates on Tory Lanez.

Three arrested for allegedly stealing school computers

The Assin Fosu District Court has ordered the detention of three alleged thieves in police custody for their suspected involvement in a break-in at the ICT Laboratory to steal computers from Assin Juaso M/A Basic School, located in the Assin Fosu Municipality of Central Region.

The accused individuals include 17-year-old Emmanuel Opoku, also known as Stone, a driver; Bernard Egyir, 33, a trader; and Majeed Osman, a mason.

Collectively, they stand accused of stealing five desktop monitors, six mice, two keyboards, a backup battery, and a system unit.

They have entered guilty pleas for the charges of unlawful entry and theft and are scheduled to return to court on Thursday, September 14, for the issuance of a verdict.

According to Chief Inspector Benjamin Doe Kuwornu, who is prosecuting the case, all three accused individuals reside in Juaso. On Sunday, August 20, the culprits allegedly collaborated to steal the aforementioned items from the school premises. Subsequently, they transported the stolen goods to Kumasi with the intention of selling them. However, their luck ran out when a police patrol unit in Kumasi noticed their suspicious behavior while they were carrying the stolen items on the streets and approached them.

Upon interrogation by the police, the accused admitted to the crime. The authorities were able to trace the stolen computers back to the school, where the incident had been officially reported to the police in Assin Fosu. Consequently, the Kumasi police handed over the accused individuals to the Assin Fosu police.

Police pays me GHC10,000 every month for the security work I do for them – Bugri Naabu admits

A recent video has surfaced in connection with the ongoing stream of recordings related to the alleged scheme to remove the incumbent Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, from his position.

In this latest release, comprising both a video and an audio recording of a phone conversation, Bugri Naabu, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), can be heard openly acknowledging his affiliation with the Ghana Police Service. He made this admission in response to allegations made by an unidentified individual referred to as Amad, who accused him of being associated with Dr. Akuffo Dampare’s payroll.

“Chairman … you told us that you are not getting anything with Dampare and we made our investigation, Dampare is paying you… he is paying you GH₵‎10,000,” he stated.

In response, Bugri Naabu debunked the claim and clarified that it was the police service that was paying him for being an informant.

“Don’t tell me that he pays me GH₵‎10,000; he doesn’t pay me, it’s the police… I don’t know, I receive GH₵‎10,000 from the police and they tell me the security work I do as a paramount chief… when there is a problem I report to them,” he responded.

However, his accuser continued to assert that the payments in question came directly from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and not from the police service.

Their dispute escalated, with Bugri Naabu daring his accuser to take any actions he deemed necessary to harm his reputation if he was so inclined.

    Background

In the preceding month, a leaked audio recording revealed several senior police officers seeking the support of Bugri Naabu to remove the current Inspector General of Police from his position.

These officers, who identified themselves as supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party, expressed concerns that Dr. Dampare’s tenure as Inspector General of Police posed a threat to the party’s chances of winning the 2024 election.

In a subsequent appearance before a parliamentary committee tasked with investigating the leaked tape, Bugri Naabu confessed to recording his conversations with the police officers as evidence of the alleged plot, with the intention of presenting it to President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo.

However, one of the officers implicated in the recording, Commissioner of Police (COP) George Alex Mensah, claimed that the recording was actually orchestrated by Dr. Dampare himself, and it was he who leaked their conversations with Bugri Naabu.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, September 9, 2023, the Ghana Police Service announced the suspension of all the police officers involved in the leaked tape pending further investigation.

“The Police Service has interdicted Commissioner of Police (COP) Mr. George Alex Mensah, Superintendent Mr. Emmanuel Eric Gyebi and Superintendent Mr. George Lysander Asare in connection with the audio tape which has become a subject matter of investigation by Parliament.

“The interdiction is to make way for disciplinary proceedings into their conduct in line with Police Service regulations,” the police statement added.

UK West Ham fan travels to Kumasi to support Kudus

A dedicated West Ham fan made a long trek from London to Kumasi to witness Mohammed Kudus in action for Ghana’s Black Stars during the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on September 7, 2023.

In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb, Ian, the West Ham supporter, shared that he successfully managed to travel from London to Ghana in time specifically to observe the recently acquired West Ham player, Mohammed Kudus, showcase his skills on the field.

“I am here to watch Mohammed Kudus, our new signing,” Ian said when asked which player he was coming to watch in the match.

“He is very skillful and strong. We love him,” the West Ham fan told GhanaWeb’s Joseph Adamafio at the Baba Yara Stadium.

He added, “West Ham are massive everywhere we go and I have come all the way from the UK to watch Mohammed Kudus and the Black Stars.”

Mohammed Kudus showcased his talents in Ghana’s match against the Central African Republic at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium.

The devoted West Ham supporter’s journey paid off when Kudus, his favorite player, netted a crucial equalizer with a free-kick after the opponents had taken the lead.

Ghana triumphed 2-1, securing qualification as group leaders for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast next year.

After his remarkable performances at the 2022 World Cup and a successful stint with Ajax Amsterdam, numerous European clubs expressed interest in Kudus. West Ham eventually secured his signature a few weeks ago.

Kudus made his debut for West Ham just before the international break, making a brief appearance in injury time during their 2-1 victory over Luton Town. Despite this brief stint, he had already amassed a passionate following in London.

Kudus is expected to return to West Ham the following week, where fans are eagerly awaiting his arrival to witness his exceptional skills. His presence is highly anticipated in an upcoming match against Manchester City at the London Stadium as the Premier League resumes.

Xandy Kamel criticizes ex-husband while flaunting new man

Xandy Kamel has once again taken a swipe at her ex-husband, Kaninja, while openly praising her new partner as the best she’s ever had.

The well-known socialite and actress, who claims to be in a significantly better place with her “new man,” was captured in a viral video poking fun at her former spouse.

Since her divorce, Xandy Kamel has not hesitated to criticize her ex-husband on multiple occasions.

Before her current relationship, she publicly celebrated two previous partners through a series of affectionate social media posts.

However, Xandy has now described her latest partner, whom she referred to as Kwabena Acheampong, as the man who has truly shown her the essence of love.

“Bra K, I greet you. Bra K is everything alright? Have you seen this man (shows a picture of her new partner) he has shown me a new level. He has shown me love. He has shown me what love really is. He has shown me that there are levels to this love. Bra K, it’s me Xandy, who you took for granted. It’s me, who you were ashamed of because of what people were saying. Ghanaians said I talk too much; I insult a lot and that’s why you left me.

“Oh, don’t you remember me? Xandy the one you cheated. This man has done me well. Kwabena Acheampong, I hail you, but if you also break my heart, we will descend in the gutters together,” she averred in a video making rounds online.

Nevertheless, a portion of the Ghanaian population has expressed disapproval of Xandy’s post, deeming it entirely unnecessary.

Some argue that her persistent habit of targeting her ex-husband suggests that she may not be as content as she professes or may not have truly moved on from their past relationship.

  • Criticism pushed me closer to God -Wendy Shay

Criticism pushed me closer to God -Wendy Shay

Ghanaian songstress Wendy Asiamah Addo, known as Wendy Shay, has shared how public criticism played a significant role in bringing her closer to God. She revealed that the intense scrutiny and negative feedback she faced when she began her music career made her seek solace in her faith, as she found it challenging to trust anyone else.

Wendy Shay emphasized the difficulties she encountered while striving for success in a male-dominated industry, where many female artists struggle to thrive.

During a Twitter Joy Showbiz podcast hosted by Kwame Dadzie on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Wendy Shay highlighted how the criticisms from certain sections of the public had a profound impact on her life, leading her to develop certain qualities and turning to her faith for support.

“It [public criticism] keeps me on my toes and always brings the best out of myself. A male-dominated industry made me very hard and develop some qualities that I never knew. So I am not stopping, I’m going further and further.”

“Actually, I will say thank you to everyone who bombarded and bashed me. Because it made me realize who was really for me and who was not. it also made me choose my circle wisely. It [public criticism] actually pushed me closer to God because I realized that I couldn’t depend on any man apart from him,” she said during the conversation monitored by GhanaWeb.

Wendy Shay likened the criticisms by some Ghanaians to a maid being maltreated by her madam.

“I [Wendy Shay] feel like most Ghanaians treated me like a house help who was always kind of maltreated by cleaning the house and always doing the cooking. Meanwhile, there was another person in the house who was always being pampered, but I was the one who was being maltreated,” Wendy Shay lamented.

Drake displays pictures of bras thrown at him during his concerts

Ladies, if you’ve ever thrown a bra at Drake during one of his concerts, he’s got a unique way of dealing with it.

Rapper Drake recently posted a photo on Instagram where he posed with a collection of bras he’s received from women who threw them at him during his performances. The picture featured over 200 colorful bras, neatly arranged on the ground with Drake standing in front of them, wearing a big smile.

He captioned the image: “Remember when we both forgot who the f*** I was in unison… That wavelength was def a foolish one.”

Hours after uploading the picture, it received over 5,00,000 likes.

A fan commented: “Bruh got a library full of bras.”

Another said: “Mans got more bras than Victoria Secret.”

“Praying for the dude that had to lay these out. They’re organised by size,” said a fan.

A happy fan said: “You won bro.”

Drake made a special request to his fans during one of his concerts last month when his son, Adonis Graham, attended for the first time. He humorously said, “Y’all keep your bras on.”

This isn’t the first time the rapper has mentioned lingerie during his It’s All a Blur Tour. In a July performance in Montreal, Drake playfully remarked that he felt like he was delivering a lackluster show because nobody in the audience was tossing their bras onto the stage.

  • How to forgive betrayal in marriage and move forward

How to forgive betrayal in marriage and move forward

Forgiving betrayal in a marriage is a challenging process, but with patience, understanding, and commitment, it is possible to heal and move forward. Here are some steps to help you navigate the path to forgiveness:

    1. Acknowledge Your Feelings: Allow yourself to feel the full range of emotions that come with betrayal, such as anger, sadness, and disappointment. Recognize that these emotions are normal and valid.

    2. Communicate Openly: Engage in open and honest marriage conversation with your partner about the betrayal. Express your feelings and concerns, and encourage them to share their perspective as well.

    3. Seek Professional Help: Consider seeking the assistance of a marriage counselor or therapist to facilitate constructive conversations and guide you through the healing process.

    4. Set Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries to protect yourself from further hurt and betrayal. Discuss with your partner what you need from them to rebuild trust.

    5. Practice Self-Care: Take care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally. Engage in activities that bring you joy and provide you with a sense of peace and well-being.

    5. Avoid Blame Game: Avoid blaming yourself or your partner entirely. Instead, focus on understanding the contributing factors and working together to address them.

    6. Forgive, but Don’t Forget: Forgiveness does not mean forgetting what happened. It means letting go of the resentment and choosing to move forward together.

    7. Rebuild Trust: Rebuilding trust takes time and consistent effort from both partners. Be patient and compassionate with each other during this process.

    8. Consider the Bigger Picture: Reflect on the love and history you share with your partner. Assess whether the betrayal is an isolated incident or a pattern of behavior, and consider whether the relationship is worth salvaging.

    9. Be Open to Change: Be open to the possibility that forgiveness might require changes in both your individual behaviors and the dynamics of your relationship.

    10. Learn from the Experience: Use the betrayal as an opportunity for personal growth and introspection. Identify any patterns or issues in the relationship that need to be addressed.

    11. Celebrate Progress: Celebrate the small victories in your healing journey and acknowledge the efforts you and your partner are making to rebuild trust.

Remember, forgiveness is a process that takes time, and it’s okay to have setbacks along the way. Be kind to yourself and your partner as you navigate this challenging path, and remember that healing and moving forward is possible with patience, commitment, and genuine effort from both parties.

  • Ladies: 11 things you should never put in your private part

Ladies: 11 things you should never put in your private part

It should go without saying that ladies should exercise caution when near their private areas.

However, this has not stopped some people from trying out whipped cream, sexy syrups, or even vegetables in the bedroom.

Genitals are extremely sensitive, so use caution.

Additionally, nobody wants to spend the night in the hospital having an unusual object removed by medical professionals from their orifices.

Read on for a list of items that should never, under any circumstances, find their way into your vagina.

What should you never put in your vagina?

    1. Tea tree oil

Previously, Dr Shree Datta told women not to use tea tree oil on their vaginas.

Her warning came after women used the natural product in a bid to eliminate odours.

But worryingly, the essential oil can burn your neoplasms.

It can also mess with the pH of your body, increasing the likelihood of nasty infections developing.

    2. Douches

Using a douche to clean can cause an imbalance of the bacteria usually found in a vagina and could lead to infection.

Conditions called pelvic inflammatory disease and bacterial vaginosis are both commonly linked to douching.

    3. Chocolate syrup

While it may seem sexy to melt some chocolate in the bedroom, the aftermath can be anything but.

Sugary items can change the bacteria in your vagina and could well lead to a yeast infection, irritate the skin, or both.

The outcome of this is likely to be a nasty irritation or infection, so it’s best avoided at all costs.

    4. Whipped cream

The same sugar issue applies once again here but just add dairy.

While it may be a well-known sexual act to put whipped cream on your body, it is very important to make sure it doesn’t find its way inside it.

This is, like syrup, a great way to get an infection, so make sure you avoid it.

    5. Vaseline

Vaseline is a petroleum-based lubricant, while designated sex lubricants tend to be water-based.

Stick to water-based products if you want to avoid any complications.

    6. Fruits and vegetables

Most fruit and vegetables spend their time growing being repeatedly sprayed with pesticides, so if one finds its way into your vagina, there’s a good chance it will be bringing its lovely bug killer with it.

If it’s enough to kill a bug, it’s probably enough to cause some issues in the human body too.

You also run the risk of it breaking while inside, which could lead to smaller fragments getting stuck and causing infection.

Stick to sex toys that have been safety tested, people.

    7. Any sharp objects

This one really doesn’t need much explanation. The skin in the vagina can, like any other bit of skin, be cut.

Cuts to the vagina could not only be incredibly painful but also get infected.

To make matters worse, the vagina can bleed in huge amounts.

    8. Hairbrush handles

Did you forget your favourite sex toy while travelling?

Whatever you do, don’t try to use a hairbrush handle as a replacement!

Things that get used every day are likely to gather dirt over time, with any nooks and crannies having the possibility of harbouring a whole host of germs.

    9. Alcohol-soaked tampons

Alcohol-infused sanitary products first emerged in Helsinki in 1999, with teen girls hoping to get tipsy without their parents smelling the booze on their breath.

The craze quickly caught on, with more young women attempting it in a bid to get drunk faster.

Jumping on the bandwagon isn’t advisable, as you could do some serious damage to your downstairs.

Dr Toli Onon, the spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, told Daily Star Online: “Alcohol is an antiseptic, and disturbing the balance of ‘good’ bacteria inside the vagina in this way can increase the risk of infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or thrush.

“Alcohol can also be very irritating to the vaginal skin, and may cause stinging pain and inflammation.”

    10. Your mobile phone

The vibration may have an air of temptation, but your phone is one of the most unclean things in the house.

They go everywhere and are touched throughout the day, often regardless of the cleanliness of the holder’s hands at the time.

This means that phones can harbour a huge number of germs, so, like the hairbrush, avoid them at all costs.

    11. Electric toothbrushes

Like a phone, the same rules apply, and if you must use it, do so clitorally rather than penetratively.

Remember, if you have any concerns, discomfort, or questions about your private parts, it’s best to consult a medical professional for proper advice and care.

Kendrick Lamar allegedly disses Big Sean, Jay Electronica and French Montana on leaked song

American rapper Kendrick Lamar took shots at Big Sean, Jay Electronica, and French Montana in a recently leaked song. The leaked track, an alternate version of Kendrick Lamar’s “Element,” features him referencing these artists while also mentioning the Drake and Meek Mill feud, saying, “Drake and Meek Mill beef might got you gassed up.”

Some people believe this version of “Element” is A.I.-generated because a snippet of the same verse was released online in 2019 but with a different beat. In the other version of “Element,” Kendrick also calls himself the King of Hip-Hop and says “You’re my son, go to your room.”

In the 2019 snippet, Kendrick Lamar specifically mentions Big Sean. He references Sean’s album “Finally Famous” and alludes to some of Big Sean’s dating history. Kendrick Lamar highlights Big Sean’s past relationships, including his dating of Ariana Grande in 2014 and his relationship with actress Naya Rivera in 2013.

“Big Sean keep sneak dissing, I let it slide/I think his false confidence got him inspired,” Kendrick Lamar raps. “I can’t make `em respect you, baby, it’s not my job/You’re finally famous for who you date, not how you rhyme (boy)/Cute a*s raps, get your puberty up.”

Basketmouth is hindering my growth – Comedian Destalker claims

Stand-up comedian Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe Desmond, known as Destalker, asserted that fellow comedian Bright Okocha, popularly called Basketmouth, is obstructing his progress in the comedy field.

Destalker made these remarks during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, widely recognized as Nedu.

He recounted instances where potential sponsors declined to support him, citing his senior colleagues. Destalker questioned why, despite winning the Best Comedian award for five consecutive years, he still struggled to secure sponsorship for his performances.

He said: “How can I win best comedian for five years, I do show, no sponsor? I wrote proposals, there are companies that agreed to come in, but they would say, ‘Okay, I will talk to some of your senior colleagues.’ That is my problem.

“Somebody called me one day and said, ‘What do you have with Basketmouth?’ I said nothing and he said go and beg him.”

On allegations that he is using voodoo, Destalker said, “When Akpororo dey hot, I believe say he was using something. Everybody wants to be successful. Your dream is to become successful. Now, do you know some people’s dream is to make sure you are not successful?”

  • “Filling the O2 Arena will not be a big deal, if we had support”- Rocky Dawuni

“Filling the O2 Arena will not be a big deal, if we had support”- Rocky Dawuni

Internationally renowned Ghanaian Reggae and Highlife musician Rocky Dawuni, has challenged the notion that an African artist’s success is measured by filling the O2 Arena.

He emphasized that Ghanaian musicians should prioritize their music careers and industry progress rather than fixating on filling the O2 Arena to compete with Nigerian artists.

Rocky Dawuni criticized the practice of comparing Ghanaian and Nigerian artists, viewing it as counterproductive, as it fosters unhealthy competition between the two nations. He encouraged both countries to focus on delivering their best performances to represent Africa proudly on the global stage.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Rocky Dawuni advised Ghanaian artists to recognize their uniqueness and not become overly fixated on filling the O2 Arena as a marker of success

“We are doing so well as musicians in other areas and I don’t think it is right to use O2 Arena which is in just one country to judge how good our musicians are.

“It is not even proper to compare our musicians to our Nigerian brothers because we are unique in our own way. Nigerians have the support and the investment. If we get the same, filling that place [O2 arena] will not be a big deal”, he said, according to graphiconline.com.

Rocky Dawuni emphasized that Ghanaian music is the best among the rest of the countries hence artists should build on their strengths and project the nation on the international stage.

“I can tell you for a fact that our music is the best. It is rich. We should build on our strengths. We should focus on building our music industry and make sure the artists who play on such big platforms project a positive image of our country. I don’t think filling the O2 is something we should worry our head about”, he is quoted to have said.

Nigerian artists, including Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Asake, have successfully hosted and sold out concerts at the O2 Arena.

Ghanaian Dancehall artist Shatta Wale recently praised Nigerian musician Asake for his achievement in late August 2023 and expressed curiosity about how Nigerians managed to accomplish such feats.

Shatta Wale’s remarks triggered strong reactions from fellow artists within the Ghanaian music industry, who criticized him for his comments and continuous criticism of Ghanaian artists.

Nikki Samonas denies claims Ghana’s movie industry is facing significant slowdown

Ghanaian actress, Nikki Samonas has noted substantial progress in the Ghanaian film sector compared to previous years. She attributed this improvement to increased corporate investments, which have heightened its visibility and activity within the country.

Acknowledging a slowdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, she emphasized the absence of support and investments during that period.

In an interview with JoyNews, Nikki Samonas credited the financial backing of Akwaaba Magic and other organizations for the industry’s advancements.

“How? No! Since when? Right now it’s up I mean it dipped really hard after COVID-19. It [Ghana movie industry] went really down because it was difficult to come back.

“But now because of corporate investments and investors, especially Akwaaba Magic and a lot of cooperate investors coming on board. Now we are used to the digitization way of marketing movies, so, I think that it has picked up tremendously,” she said.

The Ghanaian actress also pointed out that music in Ghana has surged ahead of the film industry due to the more consistent release of songs compared to films.

“Music is noisy, it is everywhere and the movie is not as loud as music. So movies flow like water and the music is fire or fire, that’s how I see it.

“So obviously people are going to know more about music. Movies come once in a while but music is constant so I think that is why it is like that,” Nikki Samonas stated.

  • KOD expresses disappointment in Okraku-Mantey’s impact on the creative industry

KOD expresses disappointment in Okraku-Mantey’s impact on the creative industry

Prominent Ghanaian media figure, Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD, has voiced his disappointment concerning the current state of affairs within the creative industry.

His disappointment is directed towards the Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, as well as the actions of the president in this regard.

KOD had initially placed his trust in the president and the minister, given their prior engagement with the creative sector. However, he now finds their performance in this area to be lacking. These sentiments were expressed during his conversation with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, a radio station based in Accra.

“I had very high hopes for what Nana was going to do for the creative space because right from the 70s, Nana Akufo-Addo has been connected to the music industry in diverse ways,” said KOD. “He used to organize shows in the UK when he was in school. He was friends with people like Fela Anikulapo Kuti… He’s had a very great relationship with musicians over the years.”

“Look at his team members…Many of them have creative backgrounds. So you’d expect that, this is the time for us to shine, but it didn’t happen,” he lamented.

KOD expressed his belief that Mark Okraku-Mantey, the Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, appears to have lost touch with his roots, as he had anticipated a more significant contribution from the minister to foster the industry’s growth.

“Maybe there was no clear-cut plan for what to do with the creative space. When our brother Mark Okraku-Mantey was appointed, many people said, ‘Oh, this is one of us,’ but up until now, I have not seen much from him as a person,” KOD argued.

He continued: “In actual fact, you can’t even access him, you want him to do something for you, and you have to deal with him like any other person, not like one of us who has been elevated.

“He has forgotten why he was elevated. We thought someone like him would be a mouthpiece for us. But I am disappointed in what the government has done. They could have done more for us.”

KOD’s remarks contribute to the ongoing discussion surrounding the condition and prospects of the Ghanaian creative industry. While some have attributed the challenges to a perceived lack of proactivity among creatives, others advocate for increased support and resources for the creative community.

A player will perish in US Open – Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev said a player might get hurt after he fought through difficult conditions and won against Andrey Rublev, another Russian player, to move on to the semi-finals of the US Open.

The winners from two years ago had to ask for the doctor’s help two times during a match where they won with 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 sets. The temperature on the court was 37C.

Medvedev said that when the humidity reached 43%, he sometimes had trouble seeing the ball. He thinks the tournament organizers are putting the players’ health at risk.

During a difficult moment in the game, Medvedev looked at a camera and said, “One player will collapse and people will witness it. ”
‘It was very harsh,’ Medvedev said later during his press conference after the match. The only positive thing I see in these circumstances is that both people were affected. It’s difficult for both of us.

‘There were good and bad moments. ‘ At the end of the first set, I couldn’t see the ball anymore. I had fun experiencing different feelings, attempted to run, attempted to do it, attempted to hit the ball. We felt exhausted constantly. It was really hard to win.

My nose has no skin anymore. Here, the color is red, but it’s not because of the sun. It’s not like you’re getting hurt by the sun.

I saw Andrey in the locker room and his face was really red, so I think it’s the same as before. That means we didn’t hold anything back.

I’m really tired. I had a few interviews there and it was difficult right away. I had a cold towel with me there.

Everything was blurry, like I couldn’t see clearly. Since the game is finished, the excitement is no longer present.

We need more live bands in Ghana -Bessa Simons

Renowned Ghanaian Highlife musician and the acting president of the Musicians’ Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, is advocating for the revival of live bands in the country. He believes that this initiative can bring about substantial benefits, including job creation and the discovery of new talents.

During an interview on Asaase FM on September 6, Bessa Simons pointed to younger Highlife artists like Kofi Kinaata as positive examples for the current generation. He stressed the importance of live music as a crucial platform for musicians to express themselves beyond recorded tracks. Additionally, he highlighted how live performances offer a unique opportunity for artists to directly engage with their audience.

Bessa Simons shared an anecdote from a recent event in Cape Coast where Kofi Kinaata performed despite the rain, and people still attended, underscoring the enduring appeal and power of live music.

“Coming back to Ghana, I realised live music would have to come again because that is the place where musicians can express themselves more than what is on the record. When you play with a live band, you get interactive with the audience,” he said.

Bessa Simons added that live bands help provide jobs and nurture more talents in the Ghana music industry, which could in turn lead to its growth.

“So, we need more live bands in Ghana. It also creates jobs for musicians, because when they play live, the sound engineer gets paid, as do the singers, backing vocalists, and quite a number of other people as well,” Simons said.

Bessa Simons’ call for the resurgence of live bands in Ghana aligns with the efforts of others who have sought to rejuvenate the music industry, which has been perceived by many as being in a state of decline.

  • ‘Mature’ Sammi Awuku is civil even when he disagrees with you – Prof Gyampo extols

‘Mature’ Sammi Awuku is civil even when he disagrees with you – Prof Gyampo extols

The President of UTAG-UG, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has characterized the Chief Executive Officer of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Sammi Awuku, as a civil individual.

Professor Gyampo stated that he appreciated the manner in which Sammi Awuku responded to  Alan Kyeremanteng’s resignation from the NPP primaries.

Following Alan’s withdrawal from the primaries, Sammi Awuku called for unity among party members and asked the supporters of the presidential candidate aspirants to not use inflammatory words against themselves.

In an interview with Citi News’s Point of View,  Prof Gyampo said “ I must commend Sammi Awuku, he is very mature and civil, even when he disagrees with you. And this is the posture that those who speak for Dr.Bawumia should have. I am proud to have taught him”

His comments come at the back of the resignation of Alan Kyeremanten from the NPP primaries.

In a statement released on Tuesday, September 5, NPP flagbearer hopeful Alan Kyerematen announced his withdrawal from the NPP’s flagbearer race citing several reasons

He mentioned intimidation, and violence against a member of his campaign team and claimed that the party strategically organised the super delegates conference to favour one candidate over the others as some of the reasons for his decision.

Mr Kyerematen stated that pronouncements made by some leading members of the party before and after the elections lend weight to his observations.

“After having carefully analysed the results of the said elections, it is absolutely clear to me from events leading to, during and after the elections, that the Special Delegates Conference was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular aspirant.”

“The level of intimidation of varying intensity, directly and indirectly, unleashed on a significant number of Delegates at various Voting Centers across the sixteen regions, is unprecedented in the history of our Party,” parts of the statement read.

However, Professor Gyampo has advised the party to promptly address his concerns in order to prevent any potential issues of disunity from arising.

  • Italian student travels 1,500 miles by bicycle to visit grandparents

Italian student travels 1,500 miles by bicycle to visit grandparents

A student from Italy traveled by bicycle for 1,500km (932 miles) across Europe to reach his grandparents’ house in England.

Claudio Barchiesi, who is 20 years old, cycled from his hometown in Barzano, Italy, to Barrow, Suffolk. It took him 15 days to complete the journey, passing through eight different countries along the way.

He wanted to get one euro for each kilometer he rode for charity, but he has received 4,285 euros (£3,678) up until now.

Mr Barchiesi expressed his enjoyment of the journey.
The student, who started on 23 August, said his 15-day trip through Europe had been a very enjoyable experience.

Before starting his trip, Mr. Barchiesi didn’t ride his bike much, only about 5km (3. 1 miles) a year.

After deciding to raise money for AIRC, the Italian Foundation for Cancer Research, he worked hard every day for two months to prepare.

He traveled through the mountains in Switzerland, along a river in France, and into Germany. Then he went through Luxembourg and Belgium before taking a ferry from The Netherlands to reach England.

Mr Barchiesi, who has an English mother, rode his bicycle for a short distance to reach his grandparents’ house near Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday.

They were standing there with balloons and signs, next to his cousin and uncle.

“He said it was very nice to arrive and see everyone, and it made him feel emotional too. ”
Mr Barchiesi said that he was burning around 37,000 calories every day. He mainly ate pain au chocolat and baguettes for his two main meals during the trip.

The college student said the best parts of the trip were the amazing view from the highest point of the Alps on his second day and getting to see the different types of life in European countries.

“He said he would travel 90km (55 miles) each day to have enough time to visit the place for half a day too. ”

“It’s amazing how everything, including the places, people, and languages spoken, can change so much within just 90km. ”

Mr Barchiesi had been staying at churches and hostels for nights. He was excited to have a warm meal and wear clean clothes. He had been cleaning his cycling gear in the shower by stomping on it with shampoo.

He planned to arrive in Suffolk when it was 30 degrees Celsius, but he said it felt just like being at home.

Regarding the amount of money we collected, the economics student expressed their surprise and said, “I didn’t think we would raise this big of a sum. ”

“I achieved my first goal and I never expected to receive assistance and encouragement from so many people. ”

Mr Barchiesi’s grandma, Pat Stoten, said she has never been more proud of anything in her entire life.

  • HIV/AIDS medications used to fatten pigs, Ugandan MPs told

HIV/AIDS medications used to fatten pigs, Ugandan MPs told

Ugandan parliamentarians have been informed that the drug regulators have been aware for a long time that medications used to treat HIV/AIDS have been given to farm animals.

The committee in Parliament that deals with HIV/Aids is looking into a research done by a university. This study is about giving animals in East Africa medications to treat their illnesses and make them gain weight.

The study discovered that pigs and chickens were given ARVs, but the findings were not made known to the public.

“He said that we were worried about making the situation seem worse than it actually is, and how that might affect our economy if we want to sell food to other countries. So we were looking for other ways to handle that problem. ”

Their report found that the ARVs were mostly used to treat African swine fever, a disease that affects pigs and has no cure at the moment. It also confirmed that the medications were being used to help chickens with Newcastle Disease.

Newcastle Disease is a condition that affects animals, as defined by the World Organisation for Animal Health.

Bird flu is a very contagious and serious illness that affects birds all over the world, including domestic chickens.

Last week, Makerere University’s College of Health gave a new study to the parliamentary committee. The study said that people believe pigs who are given ARVs (antiretroviral drugs) grow bigger and faster and get sick less often.

It was found that about one-third of the chicken tissue and half of the pig meat from markets in the capital city, Kampala, and the northern city of Lira had traces of ARV residues.

People are worried that eating this food may cause some people to become resistant to drugs they need to take. It could also put at risk the money given by donors who provide the drugs to treat HIV and Aids.

People on social media are really mad about the parliamentary session because they are upset that the NDA didn’t share their earlier findings.

The NDA’s spokesperson tried to make the scandal seem less important by saying they have taken action to stop drug abuse, specifically in animals.

Abiaz Rwamiri said that the ongoing operations have resulted in the arrest and punishment of several wrongdoers.

  • Former president of Guatemala admits guilt to corruption

Former president of Guatemala admits guilt to corruption

A court in Guatemala has decided that the former president, Otto Pérez Molina, must go to jail for eight years.

Pérez Molina, who was made to leave his position in 2015 due to protests against corruption, admitted to breaking the law by moving illegal money, committing fraud, and being involved in corrupt activities.

Prosecutors say he received a lot of money as bribes for giving out more than 70 contracts to different companies.

The 72-year-old person has been in prison since the day after he left his job.

Last year, he and his vice-president, Roxana Baldetti, were found guilty of carrying out a bribery scheme at the Guatemalan customs authorities.

The International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG), which was formed by the United Nations and Guatemala to fight corruption in the country, played a key role in uncovering both corruption cases.

CICIG looked into claims of corruption by powerful people.

The United Nations-supported group was forced to leave Guatemala in 2019 by Jimmy Morales, the person who took over after Pérez Molina. This happened because the group began to look into Mr. Morales’ possible problem with how he received money for his campaign.

The removal of CICIG received strong criticism from groups in Guatemala and also from those in the United States and the European Union who are against corruption.

People are saying that President Alejandro Giammattei’s current government is stopping investigations into corruption.

The US state department claimed that Guatemala’s Attorney General Consuelo Porras blocked investigations in order to help her friends and gain unfair political support. This happened last year when she ordered the arrest of several anti-corruption prosecutors.

Many prosecutors and judges from Guatemala have left the country because they are scared of being arrested.

People from Guatemala said that they are very worried about corruption. This made them vote for a person who is not a part of the usual politics and promised to stop the corrupt practices.

  • Greek flood sweeps away holiday home, honeymooners missing

Greek flood sweeps away holiday home, honeymooners missing

An Austrian couple who were on their honeymoon in Greece are now missing. The heavy rain caused their house to be washed away.

Emergency services have informed the BBC that they are looking for the couple and some other people who cannot be found.

In central Greece, some people were stuck on their roofs because of floods that covered entire villages in water.

At least twelve people have died after Storm Daniel struck Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria this week.

The couple from Austria chose to stay inside the bungalow they had rented for their honeymoon because it was raining heavily in central Greece. According to the owner of the place, Thanasis Samaras.

According to him, the house in Potistika, a beach resort near Mount Pelion, was washed away by sudden floods.

He and the other people who were visiting had gone to a safer area and told the couple to do the same.

The situation was really terrible. Samaras said that it is very hard to make a decision in a situation like that.

He said that the couple, who are from the Austrian city of Graz, got married soon after they arrived on their vacation.

The Greek firefighters are looking for missing people, including the newly married couple.

In the past few days, certain areas in Greece got a lot of rain, up to 800mm (31. 5 inches) – which is more rain than they usually get in an entire year.

The Karditsa plain in the middle of Greece became like a lake, and the villages near Palamas were covered in water.

The mayor of Palamas, Giorgos Sakellariou, went on Greek TV and urgently asked for assistance because people were trapped in their houses and were in immediate danger.

“He said the situation in Palamas is very sad,” was quoted as saying on Skai TV. People cannot leave their houses. People will drown.
The rescue efforts are being delayed because some bridges in the area have fallen down and the roads are badly broken.

The very bad weather also affected Athens and the island of Skiathos. Many tourists are stuck there, and the coastal areas near Volos and Pelion were also affected.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis decided to cancel a major government event that was scheduled for the weekend due to the worsening crisis.

Storm Daniel has been causing damage in Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria since Monday. So far, more than twelve people have died, with at least four deaths in Greece.

Climate scientists have said that because of global warming, more water will evaporate in the summer and that can cause stronger storms.

Guinea marks coup anniversary with bloodshed, 4 dead

our people were killed in fights between protesters and security forces in Guinea on the day when the country remembered the second anniversary of a military takeover, according to activists.

The Forces Vives, which is a group of political parties, trade unions, and civil society groups that want civilian rule to come back quickly, stated on Facebook that four young men between the ages of 15 and 18 have died.

It was reported that two people died in the capital city, Conakry, when armed security forces attacked areas where political activists live. This happened on Monday, right before planned protests against the government.

The two other teenagers were murdered on Tuesday and at least twelve others got shot and hurt, according to Forces Vives.

The military government, who had told people not to join the protests, has not said anything about the most recent event.

Forces Vives is worried about the elections taking too long to happen.

Many people have protested against Mamady Doumbouya, a military officer who is currently the temporary president, and these protests have often become violent.

The junta suggested a plan to switch to democracy in two years last October, after the group Ecowas refused a plan that would have taken three years.

The government of Guinea is one of a few military governments in West and Central Africa that have taken control through a series of coup d’états since 2020. Many of them still need to have elections like they promised.

  • Graça Machel issues climate change warning to men in suits

Graça Machel issues climate change warning to men in suits

Graça Machel, who is well-known for advocating for rights, and was married to Nelson Mandela, said that there should have been more women participating in discussions at the very first climate summit in Africa, according to the BBC.

During a recent meeting in Kenya, African leaders made a joint decision for the continent before the upcoming COP28 summit in November. This decision includes a suggestion for a worldwide system for taxing carbon emissions.

Ms Machel, who is second in command of The Elders – a group of older and experienced leaders established by Mr. Mandela in 2007 to address serious global issues, expressed her joy for this significant progress.

She praised the creative ways of addressing climate change that were presented in Nairobi, stating that Africa does not need assistance, but rather wants to contribute towards solutions. Africa is ready to provide investment opportunities and solutions.

But the 77-year-old Mozambican campaigner said that women need to be the main focus of the conversation in the future. He said, “We need to put an end to the idea of women only being able to speak from a distance. ”

She said that even though women yelled from a window, the people making decisions didn’t listen to them.

Women need to be the most important part of the decision-making process. As women and women’s groups, we need to take hold of that opportunity. We won’t get it.

Women should be the main focus when making decisions. So, us women and women’s groups should try to take that opportunity. We won’t get it.

This message means that leaders need to realize that the old way of making decisions, where only a few people made all the choices, is no longer effective.

Leaders need to realize that things have changed and it’s not just one type of suit making decisions anymore.

I would never give up music for marriage – Wendy Shay

Ghanaian songstress Wendy Asiamah Addo, known by her stage name Wendy Shay, has emphatically stated that she will never sacrifice her music career for marriage.

She clarified that music takes precedence in her life, and she is unwavering in her commitment to it, even in the face of societal expectations that often prioritize marriage for women.

These declarations come in response to growing concerns about female artists facing challenges in sustaining their careers in the music industry due to marital pressures.

Wendy Shay conveyed her stance during a Twitter podcast hosted by JoyEntertainment on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She openly shared that, at this point in her career, marriage is not part of her plans as her primary focus remains on her music journey.

“For now, I’m not even thinking about marriage because music is my destiny, that is what makes me relevant in this life. So I don’t think that I would trade something like that for marriage,” she said.

The Ghanaian songstress further noted that the would-be-husband must be someone who understands her and will be in line with her destiny regardless of the situation they find themselves in.

“You [the would-be-husband] should be in alignment with my destiny. If it’s just you loving and taking care of me, I don’t think that is enough for me to give you attention,” Wendy Shay added.

  • UK rejoins EU’s Horizon science research programme

UK rejoins EU’s Horizon science research programme

The government of the UK has announced that they will be joining the European Union‘s main scientific research program, called Horizon.

Scientists and schools in the UK can now request funds from the £81 billion (€95 billion) fund starting today.

Associate membership was accepted as a part of the Brexit trade deal when the UK officially exited the EU in 2020.

However, for the last three years, the UK has not been a part of the scheme because of a disagreement related to the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, said that we have made a deal that allows UK scientists to participate in a big international research program with confidence.

We have worked with our European Union partners to ensure that this agreement is favorable for the United Kingdom. It will open up exceptional research possibilities and is also beneficial for British taxpayers.

The announcement made on Thursday says that the UK will be a part of Copernicus, which is the EU’s Earth observation program worth £8bn (€9bn). Britain will not be joining a nuclear research group called Euratom R&D. However, they will still cooperate with them on nuclear fusion.

The European Commission said that the decision would be good for both parties involved. They also stated that the UK will give around €2. 6bn (£22bn) every year on average for its involvement in both Horizon and Copernicus.

The scientific and academic community is happy about the Horizon association news.

Vivienne Stern, the leader of Universities UK, said scientists will feel very relieved, as they will be able to work together in different countries and receive funding from a shared source.

I was studying a huge project that maps the human brain. It involves 500 scientists from 16 different countries and has been happening for 10 years. The projects are too big to be funded by the country’s funding methods.

And Sir Paul Nurse, who won the Nobel Prize and has been one of the strongest advocates for joining again, said: “I am very happy to see that collaborations with scientists from the EU can still happen. ” This is a very important step in improving and making our global scientific reputation stronger. ”

The UK’s connection to Horizon was approved as a general idea as part of the Brexit Trade and Co-operation Agreement (TCA), but the matter then got stuck in the argument over the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The European Commission said no to letting the UK join the science and Earth observation programs until they did everything they promised to do.

Last February, Brussels and London agreed on the Windsor Framework to resolve their issues regarding Northern Ireland. This also allowed the associations to be accessed. Over the past six months, both parties have been discussing and making agreements about the money-related aspects of being part of a group.

These requirements have not yet been fully revealed, but they mean that the UK will have to give money to the EU-27 bloc based on the size of its economy. If UK scientists win a lot or very few grants, there are rules in place to evaluate their performance. However, these rules are similar to the ones already established in the TCA, according to officials from Brussels who spoke to the BBC.

In the past, UK scientists often won the most grants in the Horizon programmes. They would compete with and sometimes beat Germany, which is another strong European country in terms of scientific research.

The application numbers from UK scientists to work on European projects supported by UK government funds have decreased due to the delays and uncertainty in reaching an agreement.

The situation also caused some people from EU countries who were working in the UK to bring their studies back to their own countries or to other countries in the European Union. Furthermore, British researchers who held important positions in large, ongoing projects were obligated to resign.

Ministers and science officials want the new deal to give a boost to the science sector and motivate UK researchers to regain their leading position in European science.

Sue Ferns, who is from a place called Prospect and represents workers in research, said: “It’s good that the UK is joining Horizon again, but it should have happened a long time ago. We are now trying to catch up because we wasted a lot of time. ” Ministers now have to make sure there is enough money spent on the scientific sector for a long time – having experts in science is very important for solving the big problems we are facing now and in the future.

    The
Copernicus association helps UK scientists stay ahead in studying the climate and allows the aerospace industry in Britain to compete for satellite contracts worth a lot of money.

    Nuclear fusion

The UK could have been a part of a European Union program called Euratom R&D, but they have decided not to pursue it anymore.

This involves studying and teaching about keeping nuclear materials safe, protecting against radiation, and managing waste.

Although it was allowed, the London government did not think that association was worth the cost.

Instead, the UK will create its own program that will focus on nuclear fusion. This is a scientific method of trying to get energy by bringing light atomic nuclei together.

It will involve working together with people from different countries. In simpler terms, the UK still has Europe’s top fusion lab called the Joint European Torus (Jet), located in Oxfordshire.

The UK government plans to support the alternative programme with £650m until 2027.

What the associations cannot change are the rules for EU or other foreign scientists who want to come to the UK for their research, and the same applies in reverse.

There is not the ability to move around freely. Scientists who want to come to the UK need special permission called visas. These visas can be really expensive and cost more than visas in other countries in the G8 group.

Michelle Donelan, who is in charge of science, innovation, and technology for the government, spoke out in support of the government’s stance on immigration on BBC Radio 4’s Today program.

“We need to prioritize the needs of the British taxpayer by making decisions that help us regulate immigration. ” “We promised in our plan, and we should be committed to keeping that promise and working diligently to make it happen,” she said.

However, we also want to attract highly skilled individuals from different countries to work here specifically in the fields of science and technology. This is because we aim to become a leading force in these areas by the year 2030.

The UK’s Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, was glad that the country had rejoined the Horizon program. However, he was sad about the time it took for this to happen.

“He said during his visit to Macclesfield that we feel like we’ve wasted two years and this should have happened earlier, which is a big setback. ”

  • Prior to Chelsea’s departure, Mauricio Pochettino showed some faith – Kepa Arrizabalaga

Prior to Chelsea’s departure, Mauricio Pochettino showed some faith – Kepa Arrizabalaga

Kepa Arrizabalaga says Mauricio Pochettino wanted him to remain at Chelsea instead of going on loan to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard seemed likely to be Chelsea’s main goalkeeper for the beginning of the new season after Edouard Mendy left and Robert Sanchez joined just a week before the new Premier League season started.

However, Thibaut Courtois got injured and his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) was damaged, so Real Madrid had to act fast and make a quick decision in the transfer market. As a result, Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to Spain on a loan for the entire season.

The 28-year-old said that Pochettino had told him he would be supported at Chelsea during the summer, but he admits that he really wanted to leave the team.

Yes, it’s true that Pochettino at Chelsea wanted me to stay. He said I would play and that he believed in me. However, I felt that a change would be beneficial for me. I wanted something different.

Thomas Tuchel also phoned me and I almost went to Bayern Munich. Because a teammate got injured, it unfortunately created a chance for something to happen.

When Kepa was asked about the chance to join Bayern even though he didn’t play much under Tuchel at Chelsea, he said that it made him feel good when a coach who didn’t give him a chance before now wants him on their team.

Ultimately, Real Madrid will always be Real Madrid. When Real Madrid contacts you, there are a few things to consider.

When Kepa was asked about his interaction with Courtois, he said that he met with him every day, except for the day Courtois had surgery and a few days when Courtois was at home.

We go to work every day in Valdebebas, we talk every day, we say hello to each other, we see each other.

Ilkay Gundogan explains why he rejected summer transfer to Arsenal

Ilkay Gundogan has explained the reason why he declined an opportunity to join Arsenal during the summer transfer period.

Gundogan left Manchester City, who won three trophies, at the end of last season to join Barcelona, who are the champions of La Liga, for free.

Arsenal gave Gundogan a contract for two years and wanted him to join their team, along with many other clubs.

The 32-year-old midfielder recently revealed that he rejected offers from other teams because he always wanted to join Barcelona, which had been his dream since he was a child.

When asked if he would have signed a longer contract with City if they had offered him more than just one year, Gundogan told BILD that he would have if he’s being truthful. And a lot of people don’t know this: Ultimately, it wasn’t about just one or two years.

The running time was not an issue. The city had to wait for a while until the talks became more serious.

If this had happened a bit earlier, things would have turned out differently. So, in the end, everything turned out perfectly and it happened at the best possible time. As a child, I really wanted to play soccer for FC Barcelona.

Gundogan has played in all four of Barcelona’s La Liga matches this season. He has given two assists, but he is still closely watching Pep Guardiola’s team.

‘I have watched almost every game of my old club on TV,’ Gundogan said.

I went to Manchester again before the season started and had a goodbye party with Riyad Mahrez. All the players also came to the party. That was a really nice farewell. And you will definitely stay in touch with your former colleagues and coaches.

  • Thomas Partey likely to miss crucial matches against Tottenham and Manchester City due to six-week injury

Thomas Partey likely to miss crucial matches against Tottenham and Manchester City due to six-week injury

Arsenal player Thomas Partey got hurt during training and is likely to be out of play for about six weeks.

The 30-year-old injured himself during training on Thursday and the Ghanaian FA released a statement on Saturday saying that he won’t be able to participate in the upcoming international break.

As expected, Partey was not playing for Arsenal when they won against Manchester United on Sunday because he had hurt his groin. The club confirmed this.

The club and manager Mikel Arteta have not given a specific time for his return.

“I have no idea,” Arteta replied when asked about his midfielder. Unfortunately, he got hurt while training and it doesn’t look good. We need to run more tests, and we think he will have to stay out for weeks.

‘We believe it’s a groin, but it could also be something in the middle. ‘

According to the Mail, Arsenal’s medical team think that Partey will be out for at least six weeks. The club will probably be careful in bringing him back because of his past injuries.

He will not be able to play in some important Premier League games against Arsenal, Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Manchester City. However, he might recover and be able to play against Chelsea on 21 October.

Partey would not be able to play in the Champions League matches against PSV Eindhoven and Lens, as well as the EFL Cup third round game against Brentford.

The player from Ghana played in the first three matches for Arsenal this season, but in a different position as a right-back. Arteta had to make some changes to his system on Sunday because someone was not available. Ben White started in a different position, on the right, and Gabriel Magalhaes came back to the team to play alongside William Saliba in the center-back position.

On Sunday afternoon, the Gunners were trailing after Marcus Rashford scored first, but a minute later, Martin Odegaard scored a goal to tie the score.

Alejandro Garnacho’s goal was disallowed because he was offside when he scored on the 87th minute. Declan Rice scored a goal five minutes into extra time, which gave the home team an exciting lead.

Gabriel Jesus scored another goal as Arsenal secured a big victory before the international break.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo responds to Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or nomination

Cristiano Ronaldo responds to Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or nomination

Cristiano Ronaldo says his competition with Lionel Messi is no longer there after he was not chosen for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.

This year, 30 stars have been nominated for a special award given to the best player in world football.

Messi and Ronaldo have been competing for the Ballon d’Or award for more than ten years now. Messi has won the trophy seven times, which is a record.

Ronaldo won five Ballon d’Or awards, but even though he currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, he was not chosen as one of the 30 nominees for the 2023 award.

Messi, who plays for Inter Miami, was included in the list because of his amazing performance in Qatar the previous year. The 36-year-old Messi played a crucial role in helping Argentina win the World Cup.

But Ronaldo says that his longtime competition with Messi, especially when they played for Real Madrid and Barcelona, is now over.

Ronaldo said, “I don’t look at things like that anymore, the competition between us is no longer there. ” It was nice, people enjoyed it.

People who are fans of Cristiano Ronaldo don’t have to dislike Messi and the same goes for those who like Messi. We did a good job, we have made a big impact on the history of football.

People from all around the world think highly of us, and that is what matters the most. He has chosen his own path and I have chosen mine, even though we have played outside of Europe.

Based on what I observed, he has been doing good, and I have also been doing good. The tradition continues, but I don’t view the competition in the same way. We performed together many times over a period of 15 years. I’m not saying we are friends. We have never had dinner together. But we work together and have a professional relationship. We treat each other with respect.

  • Everton star to be signed by Steven Gerrard

Everton star to be signed by Steven Gerrard

Reports suggest that Steven Gerrard will sign Demarai Gray, who currently plays for Everton, for Al-Ettifaq. Gerrard, a former Liverpool player, played a big part in making this transfer happen.

Gerrard became the manager of a team in the Saudi Pro League during the summer. He has already brought in two new players, Jordan Henderson from Liverpool and Georginio Wijnaldum from Paris-Saint Germain, who used to play for Liverpool.

However, Gerrard has switched to supporting Everton after they decided to sell Gray to Al-Ettifaq. Gray has already undergone a medical examination and is about to sign a four-year contract with the Saudi club, as reported by The Athletic.

They say that Gerrard played an important part in the deal involving a player who was criticized by Everton’s manager Sean Dyche this week.

Dyche got upset with Gray for trying to leave Everton without consulting him first. Dyche made it clear that Gray can’t just do whatever he wants.

“It’s a sad situation because I prefer to handle our business matters internally,” Dyche explained. ‘I believe that it is appropriate to respond on this occasion. ‘

Demarai said he believed he was going to leave Everton, and he informed us that the deal was completed. It was surprising to hear this from a player. We told him that this club has to approve all decisions.

We take care of these players and explore various methods of caring for them. Mental and wellbeing are important for our overall health and happiness. This includes strategies and knowledge related to our mental state, as well as techniques for improving our physical well-being.

‘When something like that happens, you might say, ‘Wait a moment. You clearly stated that you didn’t want to get trained, you didn’t want to be in this place, and you also mentioned that there was a move that was already decided.

‘We said it’s not completely final because this club is the most significant. ‘ This club will decide your future as players and you can’t decide for them. I believe it’s important to inform our fans about what really happened.

  • If I speak out against Roma’s defeat in Europa League final, I will be ‘banned’ for 10 games – Mourinho

If I speak out against Roma’s defeat in Europa League final, I will be ‘banned’ for 10 games – Mourinho

Jose Mourinho says he could get a 10-game ban if he speaks his mind about Roma‘s defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final last season.

The team from Spain called Sevilla won a game on penalties. This made Mourinho, who used to coach Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham, lose a European final for the first time.

Mourinho, who coached Roma in Italy, became very angry with English referee Anthony Taylor after the 2023 Europa League final. Mourinho said that Taylor acted like he was from Spain.

Mourinho angrily spoke to Europa League officials in the parking lot after the game and used offensive language towards them.

Referee Taylor and his family were then attacked by Roma fans at an airport. The fans were throwing chairs and bottles at the Premier League official.

Mourinho got a punishment of not being able to play in four matches because of his actions. Mark Halsey, a former referee in the Premier League, criticized Mourinho and said he should have been given a bigger punishment.

The manager from Portugal, who led United to win the Europa League in 2017, has recently talked about his different experiences in European competitions.

Mourinho told Sky that winning the Europa League with Manchester United felt like something that happens regularly to him. I can’t express my thoughts about Roma-Sevilla because I might be banned from playing for 10 games.

I believe that the Roma-Leicester match in the 2022 Europa Conference League semi-final was equally significant compared to the Roma-Feyenoord match in the 2022 Europa Conference League final.

I have never shed tears on the field after losing a game. Sometimes, I feel so happy that I cry when we win, and these two games are very important for Roma in their history.

  • Eddie Nketiah and Declan Rice feels more resilient after their rejection from Chelsea

Eddie Nketiah and Declan Rice feels more resilient after their rejection from Chelsea

Eddie Nketiah was let go by Chelsea when he was just 14 years old. This experience made him even more motivated to succeed. Declan Rice went through a similar situation. Now, both Nketiah and Rice play together for Arsenal and the England national team.

Both Nketiah and Rice were in the training program at Chelsea but were released as teenagers. Nketiah went to the Gunners and Rice joined West Ham.

Because Arsenal paid £105m, the striker and midfielder are now on the same club team once more. Rice joined Arsenal during the summer for a very high price.

And because Nketiah has been playing really well at the beginning of the season, he has now been selected to join the England team. Rice has already been on the England team for a while.

Nketiah thinks that being released from Chelsea ten years ago has helped him mentally, making him more determined and motivated to succeed.

I believe it made me more focused on what I want to achieve. I was there from when I was nine years old until I was 14. It was a big surprise to me because I was doing good back then,” said the person who is 24 years old now.

Declan Rice was also in the same age group and went through a similar situation. I believe it serves as an eye-opener, realizing that things can quickly change and you can lose all the things you have worked hard for.

‘When times are tough, it helps you stay motivated and strong. ‘ I can go deeper into things than some people can or choose not to go into. It’s all part of the thing you go through.

Arsenal FC and Manchester United are facing each other in a football match in the Premier League.

Some boys may not have gone through it, but they will eventually face challenges in their careers. This is my story and it has shaped me into the person I am today.

He said a similar thing to what Rice said: “It’s strange how life can be sometimes. ” We have finished a complete turn and are now back together. We each took different paths to reach this point, but now we are all traveling together for our club and country.

Nigerian sensation Patoranking’s fourth studio album, aptly titled “World Best,” is a masterful modern embodiment of this genre fusion, driven by themes of love, life, and conscious lyricism.

On “World Best,” released on September 6, 2023, Patoranking collaborates with international icons such as American hip-hop legend Ludacris, Jamaica’s own dancehall don Beenie Man, and Kingston’s unruly boss, Popcaan. Not neglecting his African roots, Patoranking also teams up with a lineup of talented collaborators from the continent, including hitmakers like Kizz Daniel (Nigeria) and Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), as well as rising stars Victony (Nigeria), Gyakie (Ghana), and Zion Foster (UK by way of Nigeria).

The album showcases a diverse range of production, featuring lush instrumentation and synthesized beats. Patoranking assembles an all-star cast of both emerging and established African producers, including Phantom (Nigeria), Kel P (Nigeria), Killertunes (Nigeria), C-Tea (Ghana), Mix Master Garzy (Ghana), and many more, contributing to the LP’s celebratory and dynamic sound.

Over the past year, Patoranking has been gradually unveiling significant tracks from his album “World Best.” The mesmerizing “Kolo Kolo” featuring Diamond Platnumz, produced by Young Willis, has already garnered nearly 30 million YouTube video views and recently earned the title of Best East Meets West Collaboration at the East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (EAEA) 2023.

Following that success, “Abobi” emerged with its rich melodies, crafted by Nigeria’s Kel P, known for multiple hits on Burna Boy’s 2019 landmark album, “African Giant.”

During the summer, Patoranking released “Higher,” a spiritually charged track featuring captivating percussion sounds and gentle, radiant synth chords produced by Mix Master Garzy. He also unleashed the party anthem “Tonight” featuring Popcaan, produced by DJ Breezy, the same producer behind Patoranking’s 2014 hit “My Woman, My Everything” featuring Wande Coal. “Tonight” has already exceeded 2 million YouTube views and is climbing Nigeria’s Top 100 chart.

The album continues to feature swoon-worthy collaborations. On “Miracle Baby,” Patoranking and Ludacris reminisce about their humble beginnings before fame. “Gyal Like You,” featuring Nigerian star Kizz Daniel, finds both icons captivated by a breathtaking sight as their vocals glide over the feel-good beats by the young Nigerian producer Killertunes.

“Women of the Year” featuring Zion Foster is a sultry tribute to the special women they hold dear, with words of admiration flowing over a mid-tempo afrobeats groove produced by N2THEA, the UK-based Ghanaian producer known for working with artists like Tion Wayne, Afro-B, and Alicia Harley.

In “Amazing Grace,” Patoranking and the self-crowned King of the Dancehall Beenie Man declare their vows and express unconditional love to their prospective queens. The song features shimmering guitar licks and an ensemble of wind instruments, courtesy of C-Tea, the Ghanaian producer/sound engineer who earned a Grammy win for Black Coffee’s 2022 album “Subconsciously.”

Patoranking is spellbound and entranced on “Control Me,” complemented by the vocals of the fast-rising Ghanaian songstress Gyakie, with rhythms crafted by Mix Master Garzy.

The album’s standout track, “Babylon,” features one of Nigeria’s latest musical exports, Victony, and delves into the alluring world of the unknown. The seductive sounds are crafted by Nigeria’s renowned Phantom, known for his work on Burna Boy’s “Ye” and Camidoh’s 2022 anthem “Sugarcane.”

“World Best” follows Patoranking’s previous albums: “God Over Everything” (2015), “Wilmer” (2019), and “Three” (2020).

  • Paul Merson expresses concern to Mykhailo Mudryk following Rasmus’s Man Utd debut against Arsenal

Paul Merson expressed his admiration for Rasmus Hojlund’s inaugural match with Manchester United against Arsenal, yet he urges vigilance due to the substantial expenditure of £72 million.

Hojlund finally played his first game at the Emirates on Sunday. He came into the game as a substitute after 67 minutes, replacing Anthony Martial.

Even though his team lost 3-1, the Danish player played very well and made a lot of fans and experts impressed with his energetic performance. His manager strongly believed that he should have been given a penalty.

A 20-year-old person also assisted in setting up Alejandro Garnacho’s goal towards the end of the game, which could have been the winning goal if it wasn’t disqualified for being offside.

After losing on Sunday and facing more problems at Old Trafford, Merson thinks Manchester United are very far from being as good as Manchester City. He criticizes their choice to borrow Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham on the last day of the transfer window.

And even though the person admits that Hojlund played well against Arsenal, they remembered how Mudryk also had a great first game for Chelsea against Liverpool after his expensive move to Stamford Bridge in January. Since then, the young person, who is 22 years old, has had a hard time making a noticeable impact in west London.

Merson wrote for Sky Sports: ‘The times of Sir Alex Ferguson are in the past and are not here anymore. ‘ They are very far from winning the league.

I understand that Manchester City is far ahead of everyone else, but they are extremely far ahead of the competition.

‘You may not remember, but they are one of the largest teams in the world. ‘ Manchester United can’t even afford to pay £7m for Marc Cucurella. They are signing a player named Sergio Reguilon who is unable to play for Tottenham.

Now they also have the Jadon Sancho situation. Just don’t share it with others.

Rasmus Hojlund appeared impressive and difficult to handle. But that only lasted for 20 minutes. I saw Mykhailo Mudryk at Liverpool in January, but I haven’t seen him since.

Hojlund is currently playing soccer for Denmark in the European Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Finland.

The striker wants to play his first full game for Manchester United at home against Brighton on Saturday, September 16th.
