21 reasons you can’t get a boyfriend and 5 things you can do about it

When Devi in Never Have I Ever laments “Why can’t I get a boyfriend?”, you know what she is talking about. The sight of couples kissing on New Year’s Day can be sickening if you’re lonely. You are pretty and smart, but no boyfriend seems to be coming your way. So before we talk about the correct way of finding a boyfriend, let’s talk about two things.

First of all, relax. Love is no flight that one must catch. Does everyone find love eventually? Yes, if they have faith in themselves. Second of all, stop beating yourself with self-harming thoughts like “Is there something wrong with me because I don’t have a boyfriend?” It’s possible that you haven’t met the right man or don’t know how to give him the right cue. Because dating is just a game, and you’ve not been playing it right.

“I can’t get a boyfriend, what am I doing wrong?” This was the most common lament in my late twenties. Most guys were easily available if you wanted a casual date, but I was looking for something serious. I was looking everywhere, but there was always something that didn’t click. Till I met Dan. After five years of marriage, when I think back on those days, I realize where I went wrong. So what could be the reasons you struggle to find a boyfriend? Here they are:

    1. You are looking for a boyfriend for the sake of fitting in

Think of Devi in Never Have I Ever and her list of “attainable yet status-enhancing people” she picks for herself and her friends to ‘rebrand’ as cool people. It’s not uncommon for teenagers to think “Should I get a boyfriend?” out of pressure. Research indicates that platonic peers influence our relationships and sexual behavior where a ‘taken’ relationship status is established as currency for popularity and social status.

    • You keep thinking “What is it like to have a boyfriend?” when you look at your friends and only want a relationship out of peer pressure
    • Before asking a guy out, think, “Do I like ‘him’ or the attention everyone will give us?”
    • Do you only want a boyfriend so you’ll stop being the third wheel?

There’s a simple test for this. Think of a scenario where you are not around anyone you know. Would you still want to be with this person? If friends are the only reason you want a boyfriend, then it’s not a good idea to look for one.  For more expert-backed insights, please subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

    2. You don’t know what you want in a man

Another reason you can’t find a boyfriend is that you don’t know what you want in a man. This is also possible when you don’t know what you want in general. This keeps most of your dating history extremely short. Or, worse, you only realize that you and your boyfriend are not right for each other when it’s too late.

    • When you get together with someone, you get uncomfortable if they behave contrary to your ever-changing expectations of ‘boyfriend material’
    • You’re constantly dissatisfied with the men you meet
    • You don’t know why your relationships are not working, and you don’t know how to make it work

If you’re confused, then you need to take some time off. Think about what you want. And take your time assessing if the guy you meet fits into that picture. If he doesn’t, better move on.

    3. You’re looking for love in the wrong place

A major mistake that people make is to think they can change someone who wants something strictly short-term into someone who wants commitment. Pop culture pushes the idea that a person can be changed with the ‘power of love’, but this rarely happens in reality.

    • You keep thinking “Why can’t I get a boyfriend to stay?”, but still get into short-term affairs hoping they’ll fall in love eventually
    • You ignore signs of commitment issues in men
    • You feel pressured to present a hyper-sexualized image to be accepted by them

The biggest sign that you’re looking for love with the wrong guy is that he’s not reciprocating your feelings even though you’ve been giving it your 100%.

    4. You have this idea of ‘The One’

We all have an idea of the kind of person we want to be with. But if your definition of boyfriend material includes super-high and unrealistic expectations, it may get disappointing. You will discover that no one can fit into that ideal. Pop culture has led to the cultivation of an ideal man which keeps changing with trends. So, ‘The One’ morphs from Edward Cullen to Christian Grey, but he stays consistently unrealistic, unhealthy, and unachievable. Research calls it ‘The Prince Charming Effect’.

    • Do you visualize men from books, movies, or fairy tales when you think of a partner?
    • You immediately dismiss a person as a prospective boyfriend if he doesn’t demonstrate all the qualities that you want in your partner
    • You will not consider a man who doesn’t fit into the physical image of your ‘Prince Charming’, even if it’s someone you genuinely like

It was observed in the above research that unrealistic standards were found to have negative consequences on the holder of such expectations. It’s not bad to have standards, especially if you’re dealing with low self-esteem yourself. But unrealistic standards, especially focusing on physicality, will not do you any good.

    5. You don’t have a boyfriend as you don’t know where to look

You keep looking for love in clubs that are full of men looking for the next lay. The same goes for weddings. This might sound ironic, but weddings are notorious for casual extramarital encounters. Similarly, at the workplace, dating a coworker sounds thrilling but only for a few weeks. When you suggest anything long-term, these men begin citing HR policies.

    • You meet guys in the wrong places without considering the possibility that the kind of man you want is unlikely to be there
    • You meet a lot of men but they seem to disappear as soon as the night is over
    • You have nothing in common with these men, except that they’re single too

If you’re looking for someone who enjoys opera and Renaissance art, you’d have a better chance of finding him at an art gallery than a baseball stadium.

    6. You are not good with words

Communication plays a major role in the mating scene. You miss social cues which could make your dates comfortable. You say things you shouldn’t, making the whole encounter more awkward. This could be unintentional. For example, if you revel in dark humor, then your date could end up feeling disrespected, turned off, or even humiliated.

    • You get nervous during first dates. You don’t know what to say. You don’t get jokes or take them literally
    • Most of your first dates are spent in awkward silence and looking around
    • You feel relieved when the date ends

Humor is subjective and you can’t do much in a situation where a joke lands wrong. But try to avoid any sensitive subjects. If you believe you’ve given offense, apologize immediately. You need to get over your anxiety when it comes to dating. Relax and stop thinking about impressing him. You’ll find yourself more comfortable talking to him.

    7. You don’t know how to present yourself

Humans, like most of the species in nature, look for certain qualities in a mate. These qualities determine the survival of the offspring. Though human beings have evolved, evolutionary psychology still dictates a major part of how a mate is chosen. This makes sure that every species looks for the best in the available stock. In short, you’re going to get very little attention if you can’t bring out the real you in your best form.

    • Your clothes are either very loose or very tight
    • Your idea of ‘how should a woman dress up for her first date includes tracksuits and crocs
    • You’ve always had the same style and rarely try anything new, despite suggestions from friends and family

Dressing up to attract a man may feel sexist to you. But presenting your best version, in a way that aligns with your values, isn’t exactly sexist. Think what it is like to have a boyfriend who dresses shabbily. Do you want someone else to feel that way about you?

    8. You think you can ‘manifest’ love without working toward it

I’m not being critical of any woman who believes in serendipity and the power of calling out to the universe. But you have to look at the statistics too. If you take no further action and don’t get out or meet people, the chances of love landing in your lap are minuscule. According to Rachel Riley from the show Countdown, there’s a 1 in 562 chance of you finding love if you leave it to fate. There’s more chance of you becoming a millionaire or having a pair of twins.

    • You ignore opportunities to meet people because it is the wrong day for that according to your horoscope
    • You don’t meet guys that do not belong to your compatible zodiac signs
    • You don’t get actively involved in trying to cultivate a serious relationship with the man you’re dating, and instead, focus on doing rituals to get him to love you

This doesn’t mean that you can’t find love on a chance encounter. But if you choose to not work on getting a guy, and then cry “Why can’t I get a boyfriend?”, you can’t blame anyone else. Outliers exist, but even God helps those who help themselves.

    9. You don’t want to try online dating

You often say, “I can’t get a boyfriend, what am I doing wrong?” But maybe you’ve not tried online dating yet. You either have been scared off from the notoriety of such apps. Or you have been on such platforms and were disappointed by the kind of men you met.

    • You’re scared of getting catfished
    • You’re scared of landing up with another testosterone-high man who just wants to play games where he doesn’t call you back after sex
    • You don’t want to initiate an online relationship because you think you’ll get two-timed

And those are valid fears. But you can date online successfully, especially post-Covid. So don’t hesitate to say, “Hey Google, find me a boyfriend”.

    10. You’re not in a relationship because of your emotional baggage

This could be anything that you have experienced in the past which is affecting your life in the present. This could be due to a traumatic childhood or repressed emotional needs. Review the relationships you’ve had in past and think:

    • You keep worrying that the relationship will fail and begin to mentally prepare yourself for that eventuality
    • You struggle with trust issues and are scared of showing your emotions
    • Or you get extremely dependent on your partner

You’ll notice that you never have a problem finding men, but none of those men seem to stick around, even if the relationship is amazing. Emotional baggage can create issues in a relationship when you begin to doubt the integrity of the relationship before you can commit to it.

    11. You are still wounded from a previous relationship

Do rebounds make you miss your ex more? Getting involved with someone before you’ve recovered from the emotional aftermath of the earlier relationship can make you miss your ex more. This can prove disastrous to your new relationship.

    • You often compare the men you meet with your ex
    • You post on social media about the new man to irritate your ex
    • You keep wanting a boyfriend to avoid feeling lonely instead of having genuine affection for the new man

There have been cases where a rebound relationship has worked for some people, but research indicates that 90% of rebound relationships fail within the first three months. It’s better to wait and make sense of your feelings before you go looking for love again.

    12. You’re intimidating

You probably don’t realize it, but you may have internalized the strong female character trope. It is not uncommon to see female characters in pop culture with traditionally ‘male’ traits in an effort to portray them as strong. There’s nothing wrong in expressing your masculine side since gender is fluid. However, your no-nonsense and ambitious attitude may scare some men away. Research shows that men tend to rate assertive women as less attractive than compassionate women. Obviously, filter out such men, but try to assess if your assertiveness has turned into a deliberately intimidating persona.

    • Do you practice sitting or talking in a certain way that you think will earn you respect or, worse, fear?
    • Do people avoid speaking in your presence?
    • Do you have the same body language at the workplace and on a date?

It is ironic that women often have to show themselves as non-feminine to be taken seriously at work and have to shed that persona to appear approachable. But matters of the heart can’t be expected to work the same way a team meeting does.

    13. Why can’t I get a boyfriend? Because “I’m the problem, it’s me”

Taylor Swift summed up the problem of low self-esteem in women in the entire world with her song. When you have low self-esteem, you give any guy that comes your way your full attention, but ignore yourself completely. It’s easy to blame yourself for everything that goes wrong. Either you’re too hard on yourself and decide not to give the relationship another go. Or you get into a dysfunctional relationship as that is what feels normal to you.

    • You keep thinking you’ve embarrassed yourself on the first date and are unlikely to go on the second one, even if the man appears interested
    • You feel uncomfortable if the man suggests boundaries
    • You keep getting into relationships with toxic men

It’s normal to have doubts about your desirability, but self-doubt can handicap your mental image of yourself. Even if you were to find someone amazing, you’ll find yourself getting excruciatingly dependent on him. This can make the whole relationship imbalanced.

    14. You are self-obsessed

A relationship is a two-way street and can’t function if an effort is not made from both sides. If you don’t put the effort into maintaining your relationship, then it’s likely to be a short one. You may not realize it, but you could be the high-maintenance partner men run from. In such a case, the man is likely to look for someone else who can fulfill his emotional needs.

    • Any conversation with you is mostly about you
    • Your guy is likely to know more about you than you know about him
    • You exhibit the signs of a controlling woman and monopolize any decisions made in the relationship

Self-obsession could be a form of narcissism which is a strategy to protect oneself when one does not feel adequately loved. To be in a healthy relationship, you need to start thinking about your relationship as an entity rather than a competition about who is better.

    15. You get creepy/needy

Another way you can go wrong is that you get too needy. You start to stalk him, demand his constant attention, and get upset if he insists on boundaries. You start imagining that he’s playing games with you, and give hostile looks to every attractive person you see him with. You turn into a creepy/needy partner. Because you define love as control.

    • You always want to know what he’s doing, where he’s going, and who’s he with
    • You think it’s normal for you to check his phone
    • You hate it if he wants to spend some alone time or plans any trips with his friends

Such a controlling relationship can be stifling for anyone. Additionally, you’re setting a bad precedent in the relationship as he could demand the same thing from you.

    16. Does everyone find love eventually? Not when it comes to unrequited love

Another reason you keep wanting a boyfriend but can’t find one is that you’re in love with someone who doesn’t love you back. You hope to get a boyfriend so you would fall out of love with this person, but this is not how it works. You need to sort your feelings for someone else before you start afresh with another person.

    • You always have thoughts about the guy you love even when you’re with someone else
    • You will prioritize this man over your relationship, even though you know it isn’t healthy
    • Any new man you’re dating works as a replacement for the guy you love

This can be extremely confusing and unfair to anyone who genuinely likes you. It can be difficult to lose feelings for someone you love and let go. Try staying away from him and focusing on other things in your life so you can healthily move on to another relationship.

    17. You don’t ask for help

Have you considered asking friends for help? You may think it is unromantic for family or friends to set you up with someone as if you can’t land a decent date on your own. This may feel additionally bad if you have a dysfunctional relationship with your family. You’re likely to say no to any person they set you up with, even if you like them.

    • You consider it humiliating if your mother sets you up with the son of a woman she met at the church
    • You don’t trust your friends to find you a good person, especially if you think they don’t know you
    • You feel inadequate if you have to ask around for a date

Not asking for help could be a sign of insecurity. But your friends and family often know you more than you realize. They are also aware of your relationship history and know what doesn’t work for you.

    18. You are bad at flirting

Mike highlights this in The Ugly Truth when he observes that Abby is pretty and smart but no boyfriend comes her way. When he says that she needs to learn to flirt, she is confused at first. Flirting is more difficult than you think, especially if you’re not very good at quick thinking or get nervous easily.

    • You’re more comfortable talking by text than on phone or in person
    • You never realize when someone is flirting with you
    • Maybe you don’t know how to give physical compliments in general

Healthy flirting can be a great icebreaker when you meet someone new. It can seem daunting to talk to someone with sexual undertones but relax a little. You’ll find the right note if you give it enough time and practice.

    19. You don’t have a boyfriend because you are rushing things

I was single for most of my early twenties. I mostly had flings and didn’t have the inclination to get into a serious relationship. However, as soon as I turned thirty, it began to feel like everyone around me was either getting married or pregnant. And so I was meeting guys left, right, and center, crying, “Why can’t I get a boyfriend?”. Now I realize how scary I must have seemed to those guys, with my way-too-soon questions about their families, income, and debts.

    • You are constantly assessing your dates instead of enjoying your time with them
    • You give yourself a deadline by when you should be engaged
    • You think marriage will fix all your woes

After a certain age, it can begin to feel that time is ticking away. You get a lot of pressure for getting married or having kids from your family. This can make you anxious and make you look at every relationship from a matrimonial POV. This can make any man run for the mountains.

    20. You aren’t giving them enough time

People often go date-hopping when they’re not keen on a committed relationship or want to get an idea of the spread before they choose the best option. But when you’re looking for love, one date is not enough to get to know a person. Especially if you’re going on multiple dates on the same day. Some people may swear by it but research indicates that most guys take almost 3 months to confess their love.

    • Are you seeing multiple men on the same day or week as a way to improve productivity while looking for relationships?
    • Have you prepared a questionnaire for these men and ticked them off if they answer ‘negatively’ to a question?
    • Are you getting confused between two or more of these men?

It’s draining and counterproductive to date multiple men and filter them out like an assembly line. Additionally, you’re not giving yourself enough time to forge an emotional connection with anyone to fall in love.

    21. You’re problematic

Your friends won’t tell you, but the reason you struggle to find a boyfriend could be that you’re ‘that’ girl. You’re that girl who talks about financial independence but expects her boyfriend to pay her bills. Or she likes to be spoiled but makes no effort from her side to do the same for her boyfriend. Or she starts as the caring girlfriend who sends him cute texts in the beginning but turns toxic once you go exclusive.

    • Your idea of an ideal man is who exhibits the traditional role of a ‘provider’, i.e. he pays the bills, prioritizes others over himself, doesn’t rest till it’s late in the night
    • You expect him to pay all your bills while you don’t contribute your share
    • You constantly compare him to others, or worse, to your father

You need to recognize the signs that you are the problem in your relationship. And if you are, you need to work on your self-awareness and try to resolve the underlying issues responsible for this behavior.

What can you do if you don’t have a boyfriend but want one?

The thing about love is you never know if you want it because you actually want it, or because you feel like you ‘should’ want it. Ask yourself “Why do I want a boyfriend?” before you start looking for one. If you’re looking for a boyfriend for social reasons or because you think it’s time you had one, then you may not be on the right track. Once you know what you want and why you want it, it’s only then you can move toward it. So how can you find a boyfriend when you want one?

    1. Love yourself

You may be rolling your eyes at this one. Not everything can be resolved by loving oneself. And what is self-love anyway? How does one love themself? By loving yourself the way you would love someone else.

    • Be kind and considerate toward yourself
    • Create healthy emotional boundaries in relationships
    • Prioritize your mental health
    • Learn to say no
    • Stop looking for approval from others

When you prioritize your mental health and have positive self-esteem, you enable yourself to get into a relationship that is loving and rewarding in the long term.

    2. Focus on developing the relationship

If you like someone, you need more than a meeting over coffee to know he’s the one. With a few men, you will know instantly, but with others, you may need some time before deciding ‘the one’ among them.

    • Give a guy enough time to see if you can envision a future with him
    • Focus on developing the relationship, try to get to know him
    • Set up realistic stages or timelines. For example, if you feel that you’re not going from kissing to something sexual till a certain date, then maybe talk to him and try to know what he thinks of the relationship

    3. Hey Google, find me a boyfriend – online dating

If you have tried bars and can’t find a boyfriend among the frat boys you find there, then try online dating. You may not believe it but according to Pew Research Centre, online dating is as successful as in-person dating. Research suggests that online dating has displaced many traditional ways of meeting new people.

Additionally, it can help you meet people with similar interests without having to go through others who may not have the same values/beliefs. Dating apps like Bumble and Mashable cater to people who are looking for commitment, so when you find the right match, you can just focus on your date and not wonder about the essentials.

    4. Know what you can’t stand

We often think about the qualities we want in a partner. But it may be easier to figure out if you know what you can’t agree on. If you’re done with toxic men in your life, then run away at the first red flag. Don’t wait to look for a silver lining.

    • Look for red flags about things you don’t want to compromise on
    • Talk to him about it, how it makes you uncomfortable, and if he’s willing to work on it
    • If you think he won’t change, move on

    5. Be patient

It’s said, “The heart wants what it wants.” Well, the heart also takes time to decide, and it takes as much time as it wants. You can’t rush yourself into feeling affection for a man. I often wondered, “What is it like to have a boyfriend who wants to get married the same time as I do?” Because no man wanted to move so fast in our relationship. It scared them to no end.

If you feel that it might be getting late for you, stop and think about why you think so. Is it what everyone else has been telling you? Winding up with the wrong guy just because you think time is running out won’t help. At best, it could make you regret the relationship. At worst, it could leave you traumatized.

    Key Pointers

    • Many of the reasons you can’t find a boyfriend could be rooted in your lack of self-esteem
    • Do not think of finding a boyfriend as a task, otherwise, it won’t feel romantic and will feel like a chore you hate
    • Focus on developing the relationship while keeping an eye out for red flags
    • Be patient. This may take more time than you anticipate

Humans were never made to be solitary creatures. It is normal to feel the need for someone to cuddle when you go to bed. But relationships are complex and one wrong step is all it takes for a lifetime of regret. To every person who says “Why can’t I get a boyfriend?”, I say, take your time, explore your options, and most of all, enjoy these experiences. If you still feel you can’t cope, ask for help from friends and family. We at Bonobology have an extensive panel of experts to help you when you need it. Love will come your way when you’re ready for it, not when you think it should come.

    FAQs

    1. Why is it so difficult to get a boyfriend?

It’s not difficult to get a boyfriend, but you will have to work to find a healthy relationship. Commitment is a big deal for a lot of people. Everyone may have their own set of apprehensions about it. So it may take some time before you find the right person who has the same beliefs as you do.

    2. Is it weird not to have a boyfriend?

It is not weird to have a boyfriend. If you’re thinking, “Should I get a boyfriend?” just to appease society, then don’t get into a relationship. A committed relationship status doesn’t validate your existence or give you an advantage over other people. More women are choosing to stay single and focus on their careers nowadays, according to the Pew Research Center. You certainly aren’t alone if you’re single.

    3. Will I ever find a boyfriend?

Yes, you will. Stop thinking, “Is there something wrong with me because I don’t have a boyfriend?” Because there isn’t. If you keep looking in the right places, focus on working on yourself, and pay attention to your date’s red flags, you will meet the right person and have a healthy relationship with him.

The Duke of Sussex has been open about his strained relationships with members of the royal family, however, there was a time when he once shared a close bond with his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, over the years.

The pair have known each other since they were teenagers with Kate having met Harry’s brother, Prince William, while they were studying at the University of St Andrews.

As a royal girlfriend, she joined her future husband William on family holidays with King Charles and Harry. And at the Order of the Garter ceremony in Windsor in 2008, Harry made sure that Kate felt at ease at such a public outing by making her laugh.

When William and Kate announced their engagement in 2010, Harry was delighted for the pair, telling German newspaper Bild: “I’ve always wanted a sister and now I’ve got one. I’ve known Kate for years, and it’s fantastic that she is becoming part of the family.”

We are trash’ – M3nsa fumes over 15-year jail term for phone snatcher

Ghana musician M3nsa disagrees with the punishment meted out to an Okada rider Emmanuel Waki by a competent court of jurisdiction.

Emmanuel Waki, 21, has been sentenced to serve 15 years jail term after pleading guilty to robbing a bystander of his mobile phone in front of the Police CID Headquarters.

The robbery incident which occurred on December 19, last year, is said to have been witnessed by the Inspector General of Police and his bodyguards who were then returning from routine observational duties.

Emmanuel Waki, who is affectionately called Pocket, was given a hot chase which led to the arrest of Salifu Alhaji, also Okada rider, who then led the police to arrest Waki at Old Fadama, reports starrfm.com.gh.

The report further said after pleading guilty to two counts of conspiracy and robbery, Waki was sentenced to 10 years for conspiracy and 15 years for robbery. The court, however, said the sentence should run concurrently, meaning he would serve the highest of 15 years.

Reacting to the news, M3nsa was puzzled over why Waki would be handed a 15-year jail term for such an offence.

“People are poor, and hungry, and desperate. Committing petty crimes in front of even more corrupt institutions and personnel doesn’t change the core of the issue,” his tweet on January 5, 2023, read. “15yrs for what? To destroy his life even further? Human beings we be trash waaaa”.

I spent 6 months out of my 5-year contract at Burniton Music Group – OV

Barbara Naa Nyarko, the first-ever female winner of MTN Hitmaker and a former signee of Burniton Music Group has revealed she spent six (6) months or less with the label despite a stipulated 5-year contract.

OV, who had until recently gone under the radar in an explosive tell-it-all interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika revealed she was informed of her contract termination via a text message from the label boss, Stonebwoy, who was at the time out of the country.

According to the Shush hitmaker, she is yet to know the exact cause of the termination.

Asked if she breached the terms of her contract, she responded in the negative saying, “Nothing really happened. I wanted to be there, I was there, I did my thing, I learnt some things and it ended. I really don’t know what happened, I can’t tell up until today. He (Stonebwoy) texted me saying that he doesn’t want to work with any of his artists anymore. I asked questions, and I went for meetings but it wasn’t clear.”

Regardless, OV is proud she had the opportunity to work with the label.

“I was hurt but I’m very ok. I really wanted to be there (Burniton Music Group) because I genuinely liked the artist (Stonebwoy) and learn a thing or two from him,” she said.

In November 2018, OV beat Awal to be crowned winner of the prestigious music reality show MTN Hitmaker.

As part of her package, she was supposed to be handed over to a management team. However, she chose to work with Burniton Music Group.

“I spoke to the boss of Charterhouse (organizers) who asked if I really wanted to be there since there were plans for me already but I insisted since I admired the man (Stonebwoy).

OV opened up on a number of issues including her health and more.

She completed the epic transformation by throwing on a black hooded sweatshirt.

Kim towered over her eldest child while rocking a pair of mirrored sunglasses from Kanye’s Yeezy line and pulled her newly-dyed brunette hair into a sleek bun.

It comes after last January Kanye stated that he does not want any of his four children to have TikTok accounts without his permission.

The rapper made the comment during an interview with Jason Lee for an episode of Hollywood Unlocked, while noting that he is taking a more active role in his kid’s lives.

North had been the focus of attention for maintaining a TikTok account over the few months before.

West had made his opinion on TikTok clear during an alleged incident at Kardashian’s home, where he had his ‘two female cousins’ speak to Kardashian’s ‘security’ on his behalf.

He recalled: ‘I said, “I need you to go and say these two things: Security ain’t going to be in between me and my children, and my children ain’t going to be on TikTok without my permission.”‘

The Stronger rapper then remarked that, although he was used to having his personal life become the center of attention, he was particularly sensitive about the public’s perception of his children.

Familiar tune: As another nod to Kanye, a remix of the hitmaker’s 2013 track Bound 2 played over the video

‘They can go on SNL and make jokes, they can make jokes in the media, they can plant stories, about whoever I am dating and whatever I want to do…I can tell you straight up, don’t play with my kids,’ he said.

‘It is going to be all legal, it is going to be all legal, baby. You are not going to gaslight me, thinking it is going to be calm like this,’ he said.

North has been honing her special FX makeup skills in recent months.

She often showcases her work on TikTok and recently transformed herself into the Grinch ahead of the Christmas holiday.

During an appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP podcast, Kim gushed over her daughter’s newfound passion and revealed she has been taking classes to master the craft.

Awkward: In the now infamous video, Kim appeared fully nude while sitting backwards on a motorcycle driven by Kanye in front of a green screen

‘[North] loves special effects makeup, so she’ll be doing scars and faces and bullet wounds,’ she explained to the host.

‘She takes classes on it and that’s what she loves to do so she loves to show it.’

Kim said that making TikTok videos makes North ‘so happy.’

‘The way that she is so creative, the way that she loves to do TikTok and do these videos, and she’ll take my phone and do skincare stuff,’ she gushed.

Kim and her eldest child created their joint TikTok in November 2021 and currently boast over 12million followers.

And although Kanye disapproves of North having access to the social media app, the exes agreed on one rule: comments must be turned off on all posts.

The app is only allowed on Kim’s phone so the mother-of-four can monitor North’s usage.

It comes after budding makeup enthusiast North has previously showed off her artistic talent when she created a landscape painting in 2021.

The painting of snow-capped mountains overlooking a lake drew over a million ‘likes’, after becoming the subject of scrutiny.

Wow: It comes after budding makeup enthusiast North has previously showed off her artistic talent when she created a landscape painting in 2021

The controversy prompted Kim to share more evidence of her daughter’s artistic prowess in the days to follow.

‘My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured,’ Kim wrote on her Instagram Stories.

The reality star had shared a photo of the painting to her Instagram stories earlier with the caption: ‘My little artist North’.

Almost immediately, some on Twitter were expressing their disbelief that the impressive painting was created by Kim and Kanye West’s eldest daughter.

Following lots of debate about the validity of the painting – with many comments suggesting Kim’s child was not responsible for the painting – she added: ‘How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?!’

‘Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT!!! NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!!!!!!!’

Some online critics even questioned North’s signature in the corner of the painting, claiming it to be fake.

Others, however, declared the painting was definitely within the skill range of a seven-year-old.

  • Aggrieved father pleads with ex-wife NOT to chemically castrate their son, 9

Aggrieved father pleads with ex-wife NOT to chemically castrate their son, 9

A desperate father has been pleading with his ex wife to not chemically castrate their son after she moved to California from Texas.

Jeff Younger, of Texas, revealed a video of his child, James, nine, claiming he’s a girl on Tucker Carlson Tonight. When asked if he was a boy, James told his dad in the video: ‘No, I’m a girl.’

The young boy claimed his mother, who is a pediatrician, told him he was female because he ‘loved girls’ and would dress him up in ‘dresses.’ Younger claimed his ex-wife, Dr. Anne Georgulas, planned to chemically castrate their son by the age of nine, his current age.

Chemical castration refers to the use of chemicals or drugs to stop sex hormone production. Medications commonly known as ‘puberty blockers’ are increasingly used on minors with gender dysphoria, and there is no federal age limit on who can be prescribed them.

‘My blood ran cold when I realized what she had planned for that boy,’ Younger told Carlson.

Concerned dad Jeff Younger films son saying he is a girl

    Loaded: 0%

Jeff Younger, of Texas, is desperately attempted to block his ex-wife Dr. Anne Georgulas from chemically castrating their son, James, nine.

His ex-wife Dr. Anne Georgulas (pictured) claimed three doctors confirmed James had gender dysphoria and has long argued that James is transgender and wanted her child to transition to a girl named Luna

‘She started transitioning him when he was two. She tried to enroll him in a gender clinic when he was five – the Genesis Clinic in Dallas, Texas. Pediatrician records show that she intended to chemically castrate him at age eight or nine, his current age.

‘And then he magically moves to California? I don’t think this is an accident.’

He said his ex-wife divorced him so she could castrate the boy without his permission and even got a temporary court order that forbade Younger from ‘even telling my son that he was a boy,’ he said on the show.

‘I had to present him to the world as a girl,’ he said. ‘His twin brother [Jude] got completely confused by all this.’

In 2019, Younger was granted 50/50 rights to his children to help block his wife’s advancements toward the medical procedure, but the case was eventually transferred and Judge Mary Brown stripped the father of his rights, he claimed.

‘Eventually, [she] allowed my ex to move to California just a few days before the sanctuary law in California went into effect.’

California’s sanctuary law protects transgender children and their families who flee from ‘Alabama, Texas, Idaho or any other state criminalizing the parents of trans kids for allowing them to receive gender-affirming care.’

In a video filmed by Younger, the young boy claimed his mother told him he was female because he ‘loved girls’ and would dress him up in ‘dresses’

‘If these parents and their kids come to California, the legislation will help protect them from having their kids taken away from them or from being criminally prosecuted for supporting their trans kids’ access to healthcare,’ State Senator Scott Weiner said in a statement.

The sanctuary law went into effect on January 1, 2023.

The father took his case all the way up to the Texas Supreme Court in an attempt to block his wife, but in an 8-1 decision, they ‘absurdly’ rejected his petition, saying she was ‘no more likely to transition my son in California under the sanctuary laws than she would in Texas.’

The 9 states where chemical castration is legal

    1. Alabama
    2. California
    3. Florida
    4. Georgia
    5. Iowa
    6. Louisiana
    7. Montana
    8. Oregon
    9. Texas
    10. Wisconsin

Texas also allows chemical castration but does not have a sanctuary law, which blocks injunctions from other states to stop the transition process.

Younger also claimed the child’s school district ‘tried to secretly transition’ James and forced the father to dress his son in girl’s clothes.

‘I’d bring my son to school in boy’s clothes and they’d give him a dress and make him use the girls’ restroom,’ the father-of-two claimed on Carlson’s show.

Georgulas had the boy registered in school as a girl, according to Younger.

In October 2019, Georgulas won a court case that allowed her to put James through hormone therapy to block puberty.

Georgulas, who is a pediatrician, had long argued that James is transgender and wanted her child to transition to a girl named Luna.

Her ex-husband, however, did not believe James has gender dysphoria and that his child was just experiencing some confusion with gender.

He accused Georgulas of forcing James to socially transition into a girl by making the child wear dresses. However, she claimed three mental health professionals had diagnosed James with gender dysphoria and that therapists had recommended they start using the name Luna instead of James.

Georgulas and Younger married back in 2010 when they were members of the Orthodox Church.

They went through IVF to have twins and requested their gender be male before they were born in 2012.

‘My blood ran cold when I realized what she had planned for that boy,’ Younger said. He claimed his wife divorced him and moved to California to chemically castrate their son without his permission

The couple annulled their marriage several years later.

But the arguments over their child’s gender began when Georgulas took James to see a gender therapist at the Children’s Hospital Center.

She claims she had noticed James requesting girl-themed toys, that the child was imitating female Disney characters and had been asking to wear dresses.

The therapist recommended James start social transitioning by wearing dresses to school and going by the name Luna.

Younger claims his ex-wife had been forcing the transition ever since their divorce and has accused Georgulas of starting to manipulate their child when James was just three years old accusing her of locking their son in the bedroom and telling their child that ‘monsters only eat boys.’

  • Dave Bautista relieved as Drax role in Guardians of the Galaxy ends

Dave Bautista relieved as Drax role in Guardians of the Galaxy ends

Dave Bautista says he feels “relief” that his role as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy is coming to an end.

The professional wrestler turned actor is “grateful” to have played the character in the popular Marvel films but says he doesn’t want it to be his “legacy”.

Volume 3 hits cinemas in May and is expected to be the last in the series.

“It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role,” he said in an interview with GQ Magazine.

Bautista stars as the dopey, often socially unaware character alongside Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel in the movie.

He said the gruelling make-up process to transform him into the reformed intergalactic criminal “was beating me down”.

“And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.”

Before acting, Dave enjoyed a successful career with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), gaining fame under his ring name Batista.

    Bautista and Chris Pratt
Image caption, Dave Bautista began acting in 2006 and has gone on to appear in films including Spectre, Blade Runner 2049 and Dune

He also spoke about comparisons with Dwayne Johnson, aka the Rock – arguably the most successful wrestler turned actor.

He said it was never his intention to imitate The Rock, but said he does “just want to be… a respected actor”.

“I’m nervous about things. But I can force myself to do things that make me uncomfortable, because I know I’m not going to get anywhere if I don’t.

“I may cringe after the fact, but I’m not going to let that fear hold me back,” he told the US magazine.

Dave isn’t alone in having a rather more bleak look back at a role that’s given him and his fans so much.

    Moving on

Robert Pattinson received lots of love for his career-making role as vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight.

But he said it was “weird being part of that, representing something you don’t particularly like”.

James Bond himself – Daniel Craig – said in an interview after Spectre’s 2015 release that he wanted to “move on” and would only do another 007 “for the money”.

And he got it. Or at least, according to US showbiz mag Variety, which claimed he was paid $25m for his final Bond outing in No Time to Die.

Miley Cyrus, who starred as Hannah Montana, said she did not have “the best of both worlds”.

“That was drilled into my head, like without being Hannah Montana no one cares about you.”

    Miley Cyrus
Image caption, Miley Cyrus has spoken of the negatives of playing the role of Hannah Montana

Freelance film critic Katie Smith-Wong says often actors can look back differently on their previous roles.

She says creative differences, wanting to avoid being typecast or elements of their character’s development “they didn’t agree with”.

“I think he [Dave Bautista] wants to break the mould,” says Katie.

It’s hard to know the “full story, the true story” around his comments about Drax, but it “could be a number of things”, says Katie.

One could be “not having the kind of material that would help establish his character as more than just comic relief, which is kind of what Drax is,” she says.

“Because he had an interesting backstory that was teased in the first Guardian film. So that was never fully explored.”

She describes this as “a window” for Bautista to “explore new opportunities”.

And his relief might be the ability to do that while no longer “feeling obligated to Marvel to stay in that role,” Katie says.

Katie is also a Marvel fan and describes the franchise as one “that you grow up with and become emotionally invested in”.

But she says the character of Drax is different to other notable names.

    Dave Bautista
Image caption, Dave has made a successful transition from WWE wrestler to star actor

“Drax is one of those characters that fans can enjoy, but it’s not as big an emotional investment as compared to Iron Man or Captain America.”

And she feels the comments will help “build interest” in the film and Drax’s future before the film comes out.

“What will be interesting is how his departure will affect the Guardians, as well as the future films.”

“Will the comic relief go towards other characters, or was this a missed opportunity to elevate his history?”

“What we’ve learned from the MCU is that things can happen in the most unexpected of ways,” she adds.

  • China Covid: Celebrity deaths spark fears over death toll

China Covid: Celebrity deaths spark fears over death toll

The growing number of Chinese public figures whose deaths are being made public is prompting people to question the official Covid death toll.

The death of Chu Lanlan, a 40-year-old opera singer, last month came as a shock to many, given how young she was.

Her family said they were saddened by her “abrupt departure”, but did not give details of the cause of her death.

China scrapped its strict zero-Covid policy in December and has seen a rapid surge of infections and deaths.

There are reports of hospitals and crematoria becoming overwhelmed.

But the country has stopped publishing daily cases data, and has announced only 22 Covid deaths since December, using its own strict criteria.

Now only those who die from respiratory illnesses such as pneumonia are counted.

On Wednesday the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that China was under-representing the true impact of Covid in the country – in particular deaths.

But the deaths of Chu Lanlan and others is sparking speculation about greater losses than those reported on official accounts.

According to the specialist news website Operawire, Chu Lanlan was a soprano who specialised in Peking Opera – a theatrical art in which performers use speech, song, dance and combat movements to tell stories – and was also involved in charitable causes.

On New Year’s Day news of the death of actor Gong Jintang devastated many Chinese internet users.

    Gong Jintang
Image caption, Gong Jintang was known for his performance in the country’s longest-running TV series, In-Laws, Out-laws.

Gong, 83, was known to many households for his performance in the country’s longest-running TV series, In-Laws, Out-laws. His portrait of Father Kang had captivated fans for more than two decades since the show first aired in 2000.

The cause of his death is unclear, but many social media users linked it to the recent deaths of other older people.

“Please god, please treat the elderly better,” his co-star Hu Yanfen wrote on Chinese social media platform Weibo.

“R.I.P Father Kang. This wave have really claimed many elders’ lives, let’s make sure we protect the elderly in our families,” one user wrote on Weibo.

Acclaimed scriptwriter Ni Zhen was also among recent deaths. The 84-year-old was famous for his work on the 1991 film Raise the Red Lantern, which is widely considered to be one of the best Chinese films by critics.

Meanwhile Hu Fuming, a former journalist and retired professor of Nanjing University, died on 2 January at the age of 87.

He was the main author of a famous commentary published in 1978 that marked the start of the China’s “Boluan Fanzheng” period – a time of eliminating chaos and returning to normal after the upheaval of the Cultural Revolution under the country’s first Communist leader Mao Zedong.

    Hu Fuming
Image caption, Hu Fuming was a well known scholar and author

According to a tally by Chinese media, 16 scientists from the country’s top science and engineering academies died between 21 and 26 December.

None of these deaths were linked to Covid in their obituaries, but that hasn’t prevented speculation online.

“Did he also die of ‘bad flu’?” one of the top-rated comments under news of Mr Ni’s death said.

“Even if you trawl through the whole internet you can’t find any reference to his cause of death,” said another internet user.

But there was also criticism of demonstrators who took to the streets in November in rare political protests calling for the end of leader Xi Jinping’s zero-Covid policy.

“Are those people happy now, seeing old people… now paving the way for their freedom?” asked one social media user.

Mr Xi appeared to refer obliquely to the protests in his New Year’s address, saying it was natural in such a big country for people to have different opinions.

But he urged people to come together and show unity as China entered a “new phase” in its approach to Covid.

The Chinese authorities are aware of the widespread scepticism although they continue to play down the severity of this wave of Covid sweeping the country.

In an interview with state TV, the director of Beijing’s Institute of Respiratory Diseases admitted the number of deaths of elderly people so far this winter was “definitely more” than in past years, while also stressing that critical cases remained a minority of the overall number of Covid cases.

This week the People’s Daily, the Communist Party’s official newspaper, urged citizens to work towards a “final victory” over Covid and dismissed criticism of the previous zero-Covid policy.

The new allegations were made in the final instalment of Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly,” which aired on Jan. 2 and Jan. 3.

The docuseries centred around R. Kelly’s 2022 federal trial where the NDA was brought up in the courtroom as evidence. The late Aaliyah was Jane Doe #1 in the trial.

“Surviving R. Kelly” utilizes Aaliyah’s story to spotlight her as a victim of R. Kelly, after years of the media and music industry scandalizing her marriage to the now-convicted singer in the 90’s.

Aaliyah’s debut album in 1994 was titled “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number” and was recorded when she was 14 years old. R. Kelly — who was Aaliyah’s mentor and was first introduced to her by her uncle, music executive and manager Barry Hankerson — was a lead songwriter and producer of the album.

At the time the album was released, rumours circulated that there was a relationship between the 15-year-old Aaliyah and the 27-year-old R. Kelly.

    R. Kelly silenced Aaliyah and her family with NDA after marriage annulment, docuseries reveals
    R. Kelly and Aaliyah in a still from the “Surviving R. Kelly” Lifetime documentary. (LIFETIME)

The pair secretly married in August 1994. Aaliyah was 15 at the time, but the marriage certificate falsified her age as 18. The marriage was annulled by Aaliyah’s parents in Feb. 1995.

In “Surviving R. Kelly,” on-camera interviews with individuals from R. Kelly’s camp who were in the room when the duo wed express their regret over the marriage. Individuals who were close to both R. Kelly and Aaliyah share new details about the legal agreement that was allegedly forged between R. Kelly and Aaliyah’s family.

Members of Aaliyah’s family declined to comment to producers of “Surviving R. Kelly,” per a statement that aired as part of the Lifetime docuseries.

A childhood friend of R. Kelly and his former security, Gem Pratt, appears in “Surviving R. Kelly” and claims that Aaliyah’s father was furious over the marriage and forced the annulment.

Pratt alleges that Aaliyah’s family had a contractual arrangement with R. Kelly that stated they wouldn’t press charges against him for the illegal marriage after it was annulled; in turn, R. Kelly sold the rights to his first three albums to Aaliyah’s family, giving them a financial incentive.

“Her dad didn’t want her anywhere near him,” Pratt says in the docuseries.

Various on-camera guests in “Surviving R. Kelly” described the marriage as a way to get R. Kelly to avoid jail time for statutory rape of a minor.

The final episodes of “Surviving R. Kelly” dedicate time to covering the enablers in R. Kelly’s camp, who turned a blind eye to his abuse over three decades and helped the convicted musician make arrangements to see his victims, including booking flights for underage girls to cross state lines for private meetings.

One prosecutor who appeared as a legal expert in the docuseries described R. Kelly as “running a criminal enterprise.” Another expert said “everyone had a financial incentive to look the other way.”

“He couldn’t do this by himself. It’s impossible…It’s clear as day there were enablers,” said R. Kelly’s former security guard, Pratt. He later said, “This was not a one-man operation. Most people in that camp knew that a lot of these girls were underage. They had to.”

The NDA was brought up in R. Kelly’s New York trial in 2022, but did not receive widespread coverage. The use of NDAs has become a hot-button issue in sexual harassment cases, particularly in the workplace, highlighting an imbalance of power with the perpetrator or corporations silencing victims through forced legal documents.

Prior to R. Kelly’s trial, journalist Jim DeRogatis — the reporter who first broke news of R. Kelly’s sexual abuse more than two decades ago — uncovered the NDA that R. Kelly used against Aaliyah. A few years ago, DeRogatis spoke about the documents that were leaked to him, stating in an interview that the annulment and Aaliyah’s legal claim against R. Kelly had been sealed.

“It’s a harrowing document,” he said. “A non-disclosure agreement on both her part and Kelly’s, vowing not to pursue further legal claims for physical abuse. So, it wasn’t just an underage sexual relationship, he hit her, allegedly, according to that court document.”

Speaking to Variety about the final instalment of “Surviving R. Kelly,” executive producer Jesse Daniels said that the producing team was careful not to exploit Aaliyah in the docuseries, and hoped to highlight the abuse she tragically endured by R. Kelly when she was a teenager.

“We have had a lot of conversations about how to tell Aaliyah’s story every time because we really want to be respectful of her legacy. But what she went through, we can’t turn our backs on,” said Daniels.

Why SDK is not dating despite being famous

Although he is mature and has had his popularity and audience appeal soar making him work with some notable brands, comedy skit actor SDK Dele has no woman in his life.

As he puts it, he has “never dated”. He used to date a girl during his school days but does not consider that as dating because it was ‘nothing serious’.

His reason for not dating when asked on The Delay Show aired on January 1, 2023, was straightforward – it would be stressful considering where he resides.

“Where I live at is very far,” he said in the Twi language. “By the time I come to the city, woe a woman and all before returning home, speak to you on phone and all that, that’s stressful; I’m not dating and I’ve never dated. I only dated in school but that doesn’t count.”

The comedian, however, mentioned that he has had sex before but could not give details of his experience except to say “it just happened”.

Meanwhile, the comedian has detailed circumstances that led to the demise of his father in November 2021. According to him, while on set with rapper Kwesi Arthur, he received a distraught call from his mother informing him that his father who had high blood pressure had fallen, hence the need to return home.

After taking him to the hospital, his father died the following day. He was buried in January 2022.

His mother has also been admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke, a condition that existed before his father died.

SDK was born in Nigeria. His family, however, relocated to Ghana when he was a year old. His parents, according to him, sold meat pie until he decided to shoot comedy skits with them.

  • Here is why Chance The Rapper is hosting the Black Star Festival in Ghana

Here is why Chance The Rapper is hosting the Black Star Festival in Ghana

It was “life-saving,” Chance The Rapper described his first experience in Ghana. The Chicago rapper first came to Ghana in January 2022 in response to Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo’s call for the diaspora to return to the ‘motherland.’

Chance was met on arrival in Ghana by fellow Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, whose family is Ghanaian. The duo first met with their involvement in the Chicago collective SaveMoney, which featured acts like Vic and Chance alongside Joey Purp, Towkio, and others, according to Complex. The project was a collection of like-minded Chicago-based artists and individuals.

Not much later, The Rapper arrived in Ghana and went on a journey to trace his ancestry root. In the company of his friends, he made a trip to Adom Waterfall situated in a local community called Obosomase to enjoy Ghana’s luxurious scenery.

From there, he made a visit to Ghana’s presidency, the Jubilee House, where he conferred with President Akufo-Addo. He also visited several events and memorial centers, including the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum, Gallery 57 inside Kempinski Goldcoast Hotel, and the Freedom Skatepark and toured James Town, where his family built a school.

The three-time Grammy-winning musician was christened with the Akan tribal name “Nana Kofi Boa-Ampensom” while on a family history search. He even worshipped at a church built by his family years ago.

In a post on Instagram, the rapper revealed that the leader of the church, Bishop Nkansah, was an acquaintance of his great-grandmother. “My great grandfather was a Pan Africanist and a captain under Marcus Garvey,” he noted in a post.

What was supposed to be another vacation getaway for Chance eventually turned out to be something deeper and familial than he had imagined. He soon found himself immersed in Ghana’s music culture, and also learned about Ghana’s rich anti-colonial history.

Since his first trip to Ghana, he has returned to the West African nation three times. As a result, the artist has decided to organize a free concert and art event for others to also experience Ghana’s diverse culture as he did. According to him, the idea for the concert came during a trip to Ghana.

“I was introduced to the story and the legacy of Kwame Nkrumah, how he freed Ghana from British colonialism and kind of brought this idea of global Blackness to the forefront in the ’60s,” he notes.

“Just in that time, being so inspired by him and his teachings and his inspirations, which are W.E.B Du Bois and Marcus Garvey, we just started having conversations about how to bring more and more people together.”

Chance adds that the tagline for his concert is inspired by Jamaican activist and political leader Marcus Garvey. He founded the Black Star Line, which became a source of economic opportunities and inspiration for black workers in between North America, the Caribbean and Africa.

“We don’t have no movies about Marcus Garvey and the Black Star Line,” Chance told Rolling Stone. “I think it’d be really powerful for Black people to see and envision themselves on boats, like on top of them, not underneath, as chattel, but to be the voyagers and the directors of our future.”

The week-long Black Star Line concert in Accra will feature events, panels and a free concert slated for January 6. The event would be held in Accra’s Black Star Square, a monument to the political freedom that was secured by Ghanaians in 1957.

According to Rolling Stone, Chance will be performing alongside Erykah Badu, T-Pain, Jeremih, Sarkodie, Tobe Nwigwe, Asakaa Boys, M.anifest and fellow Chicago-born hip-hop artist Vic Mensa.

Chance says he wants to use the concert to bridge the gap between Black people abroad and in Africa.

“I think that specifically, the story of the founder’s independence is something that all black people should know,” he told AP. “There are no free sub-Saharan African countries until 1957. I think they should know about the revolutionary leaders on the continent and abroad. I think that if we had this connectedness and this interaction, people will actually have a chance to see this.”

Shatta Wale owes me a lot of money – Michy alleges

Shatta Wale’s ex-girlfriend, Michy, has alleged that the dancehall artiste owes her a lot of money.

According to Michy, after featuring on the ‘Low Tempo’ song, Shatta has refused to pay what is due her, from the Youtube revenue.

“I have stated on several occasions that I don’t need a collabo from Shatta Wale because I have the biggest collabo with him … ‘Low Tempo’ has over 7 million views on Youtube…and Shatta hasn’t paid me for that — he owes me a lot of money and you know, I will collect it.” She alleged in a viral video.

Laying down her rules should they produce another song in the future, Michy, without mincing words said, “Shatta will pay me before I would do another collabo with me…He will really pay big before I do it”.

Earlier, Michy in a discussion on Hitzfm disclosed that she and Shatta Wale barely communicate.

This was after she declined to speak about him while promoting Yvonne Nelson‘s movie titled ‘The Men We Love’.

    Ethiopian challenges Ghana’s tallest man

Nagawoo Jimaa, an Ethiopian has challenged a BBC report that suggests that 29-year-old Sulemana Abdul Samed from Ghana could be the tallest man in Africa.

The Ethiopian who measures 7 ft 4.6in (225cm) posted his picture alongside that of Sulemana Abdul Samed on Facebook saying “never give up”.

“Bring him if you want – this guy will not be longer than me,” he said in an earlier post.

Speaking to the BBC Nagawoo Jimaa said, “From what I see in the pictures, I can say he’s not longer than me.”

A local hospital in northern Ghana told 29-year-old Sulemana Abdul Samed during one of his recent check-ups that he had reached the height of 9 ft 6in (2.89m).

This would make him the tallest man in Ghana, but there was a catch – the rural clinic could not be sure of his height because it did not have the correct measuring tools.

Following the situation, a BBC reporter measured him and found him to be 7ft 4in – which is indeed shorter than the Ethiopian.

In the past, other Ethiopians have said they were taller than Mr Negewo but later found that this was not true.

‘ Women cheat more in marriages’ – Actress

Nigerian actress, Yvonne Jegede, has said that ladies tolerate cheating more than men in marriages.

She made this statement during a discussion on extra-marital affairs on TVC.

She said women tolerate cheating more than men because they have “bigger hearts” and “motherly instincts”.

“My own take on this issue of cheating is that I think why men don’t tolerate women cheating is that they don’t have a big heart,” the actress said.

“Women have bigger hearts, we can tolerate, we can forgive even with our day-to-day people we come across and stuff like that. Women are nurturers, so motherly instincts a lot of times help us contain some certain situations that we find ourselves in. So for men that can’t take it like you said if you find out and it’s a secret then you guys can manage it,” she added.

Jegede described men as children, adding that she never believed such until her encounters with them revealed such.

“There are cases when it comes out like that. First of all, men are like children, they’ve said that thing a thousand times. I never used to believe it so much until I entered into it and I got a lot older.

“Then I see some people I probably have a relationship with and I go home and I’m like, ‘what’s The former difference? I think they really don’t grow. I see my son throw tantrums and I’m like, ‘this is the same thing this man just did,” she stated.
