Renowned Haitian-American musician, Wyclef Jean, opened his doors to Ghanaian Dancehall and Afrobeat sensation, Stonebwoy, following their heartfelt encounter at the Island Music Conference.
The warm reception included a tour of Wyclef’s home and a gracious meal, showcasing the camaraderie between the two artists.
Impressed by Stonebwoy’s talent, Wyclef expressed admiration for his work and engaged in discussions about the intricate dynamics of diaspora and African relationships, emphasising the importance of fostering strong connections.
Their initial meeting occurred during the 2024 Island Music Conference, where Stonebwoy participated in a panel discussion on ‘Making Music Videos That Matter.’
Post-event, the two artists shared the stage alongside Jamaican artist Shaggy.
Stonebwoy hinted at a potential collaboration, suggesting Wyclef and Shaggy as guest artists at his upcoming 2024 BHIM Nation concert scheduled for December.
