More collaborations and gigs for Beasts of No Nation’s Strika as he is spotted with Nana Tea

Just a week after a new video featuring Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika from Beasts of No Nation, surfaced on social media, the former child actor has once again received support from compassionate individuals.

In 2019, Strika was first spotted on the streets, where he shared the hardships he faced before and after his role in the movie, resorting to petty trading to make ends meet.

Despite promises of help, he continued to face challenges and, in 2021, revealed that he hadn’t received the promised support.

In 2022, another video surfaced, depicting Strika’s struggle with drugs and financial difficulties.

Now, in 2023, a new video of Strika in a distressed state circulated on social media, prompting influential individuals to rally to his aid once again.

Notably, skit comedian Rass Nene, also known as Dr. Likee, extended a helping hand by offering Strika a place on his team, hinting at a forthcoming collaboration between the two.

A behind-the-scenes video on social media showcased Strika participating in a shoot with the comedian.

Additionally, popular YouTuber and philanthropist Nana Tea, in collaboration with teacher, dancer, and content creator The Dancing Teacher, orchestrated a wardrobe makeover for Strika, treated him to lunch, and pledged further assistance.

These acts of kindness have garnered positive reactions on social media, with many expressing hope for a lasting solution to Strika’s challenges and brighter days ahead for the actor.

  • NDC’s Felix Kwakye Ofosu matches Kwadwo Sheldon ‘boot-for-boot’ over Receipts Guy’s billboard stunt

NDC’s Felix Kwakye Ofosu matches Kwadwo Sheldon ‘boot-for-boot’ over Receipts Guy’s billboard stunt

    Renowned YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon
has accused Twitter influencer Receipt Guy of bias, alleging that the latter’s recent promotion of old tweets has a partial focus on key members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Receipt Guy’s ‘name and shame’ agenda, which involved displaying disparaging tweets from NPP members on billboards, has now been associated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), given the majority of tweets highlighted.

This development caught the attention of Kwadwo Sheldon, who criticised Receipt Guy for not equally publicising the unfulfilled promises of the NDC.

In reinforcing his argument, Sheldon uncovered old tweets from NDC stalwart Felix Kwakye Ofosu, indicating plans for the government to construct a bridge larger than the ‘Adomi’ in 2016.

Felix, a former deputy information minister during the Mahama administration, posted this a month before the transition of power to the Akufo-Addo administration.

“Work will soon start on a new and bigger bridge over the Volta River. The Volivo Bridge will be 200 metres longer than Adomi. Check out the design,” the post read.

Kwadwo Sheldon recouped that particular tweet, lambasting the politician over his failed promises while prompting the Receipts Guy to publicise that as well.

“Make Receipt Guy put this on the billboard too, or eno dey make sense given the narrative he spearheads?” Sheldon wrote.

In response to the situation, Ofosu Kwakye expressed his displeasure on Twitter. He defended the NDC, stating that the failure to implement the mentioned project was not the party’s fault.

According to him, the responsibility for executing the project rested with the NPP, as funds had been approved by parliament before the transition period.

“Comical ignorance. It is your Akufo-Addo and Bawumia who have refused to execute that project after Parliament approved funds for it in November 2016. Philistinism on stilts!” the former government appointee fumed.

    Sheldon later discarded his tweet.

Haaland’s form and performance leaves Pep appreciating the €60m transfer for City’s goal-scoring machine

    Erling Haaland
has added another set of goal-scoring records to his impressive resume, prompting Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to humorously express on Tuesday that he was getting accustomed to fielding questions about his prolific striker.

In the 54th minute of the match against RB Leipzig, the 23-year-old achieved the feat of being the fastest player to score 40 goals in the Champions League, contributing to City’s 3-2 comeback victory and securing the top spot in Group G with one matchday still to go.

Just three days prior, Haaland had already made headlines by becoming the quickest player to reach 50 Premier League goals during a 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

“Again? I have to tell you again?” Guardiola laughed, when asked for comment. “A thousand million times, I’m really impressed. They won today. Another record. Congratulations. He’s a fantastic player. I tell you many times, we’re really, really pleased.

“We love him, not just for the goals he scores, but for many, many other things.

Manchester United ready to reportedly offload Mason Mount

Manchester United is reportedly considering replacing summer signings Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat, both of whom have faced criticism for their performances since joining Old Trafford, as per The Guardian.

Mount, 24, and Amrabat, 27, have failed to meet expectations, leading to dissatisfaction among fans.

United manager Erik Ten Hag seems to share this sentiment, as he is reportedly open to offers for the £55 million signing, just six months after his transfer from Chelsea.

Additionally, a permanent deal for Fiorentina loanee Amrabat is not on the table.

Ten Hag is poised to be active in the January transfer market to strengthen the squad, following a recent run of five, albeit unconvincing, wins in six games.

The club is reportedly interested in RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as well as Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo. Other names linked to United include Benfica center-back António Silva and AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

Securing Silva might pose a challenge, as Benfica has stated their reluctance to part with the Portuguese international for anything less than his release clause of €100 million.

Adebayor gives fans glimpse of his ‘glamourous’ wardrobe, sneakers collection

Ex-Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor has granted his social media followers a glimpse into his extensive shoe and clothing assortment.

The Togolese football legend showcased a diverse collection of shirts, suits, sneakers, shoes, and other outfits in a ‘goodnight’ message sent to his fans on Tuesday, November 29, 2023.

In the video, Emmanuel Adebayor, while preparing for bedtime, was seen concluding his day with a final toothbrush session.

“Getting ready to sleep! Goodnight, my people, the message shared by the Manchester City forward reads.

It remains unknown if the massive wardrobe put on display is from his Lome mansion, which recently became a topic on social media after a visit by Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan.

A viral video captured Adebayor hosting the Ghanaian football icon at his residence, with the two football stars sharing a great time.

In the video, Gyan seemed to be enjoying a relaxed and cool time in the multi-million-dollar mansion, stating that ‘I’m in Adebayor’s heaven”.

Keen on maintaining humility and not appearing to be boastful, Adebayor quickly chimed in, “I’m in Adebayor’s mansion.”

Adebayor’s intervention sparked laughter among players and others present at the hangout.

Asamoah Gyan holds a prestigious position in Ghana’s football history as the all-time leading scorer for the Black Stars.

Across 109 appearances, he netted 51 goals, with memorable strikes against the Czech Republic (2006 World Cup), the USA (2010 World Cup), and Algeria (2015 AFCON) standing out as favourites.

Gyan retains the title of Ghana’s and Africa’s highest goal scorer in the history of the World Cup, having scored six goals in the three tournaments he participated in.

His contributions have left an indelible mark, solidifying his status as one of the continent’s most accomplished footballers.

While Gyan excelled on the national team stage, Adebayor’s global acclaim is largely attributed to his performances in the Premier League, representing clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham.

  • “Preach on” – Asamoah Gyan responds to Prophet’s sermon about himself and his brother Baffour

“Preach on” – Asamoah Gyan responds to Prophet’s sermon about himself and his brother Baffour

The esteemed Ghanaian footballer, Asamoah Gyan, has embraced a sermon delivered by Prophet Johnson Adu Boahen, extolling the virtues of Gyan’s elder brother, Baffour Gyan.

In the widely circulated sermon across various social media platforms, Prophet Adu Boahen expressed profound admiration for Baffour Gyan, acknowledging his instrumental role in Asamoah Gyan’s illustrious football career.

The prophet commended Baffour Gyan for his humility, highlighting that despite being the elder sibling and having his own career in professional football, he graciously stepped back to allow Asamoah Gyan to shine when it became evident that his younger brother possessed the talent and charisma for a more successful football journey.

The sermon emphasized that Asamoah Gyan’s remarkable success, including becoming the highest scorer in the history of the Black Stars, was made possible by the unwavering support provided by Baffour Gyan.

Prophet Adu Boahen underscored the crucial role of Baffour’s selfless support in shaping Asamoah Gyan’s trajectory in the world of football.

The prophet went on to describe Baffour Gyan’s admirable character as something almost unreal, noting that in a culture where many elder siblings might prefer to be the face of the family’s success, Baffour chose a path of support, enabling his younger and more talented brother to take the forefront in their shared journey of achievement.

“One person I really respect in this country is Asamoah Gyan’s elder brother, Baffour. I respect him so much because he’s not greedy. Even though he is older than Asamoah Gyan, he has been very supportive of him. Once he realized that Asamoah Gyan could become the next big thing in Ghana football, he retired and supported him.

“Both of them are married but they enjoy a great relationship because Baffour is not greedy and selfish. In today’s Ghana once an older sibling sees the younger one making progress, then he or she starts to pull strings to bring him or her down. The little mistake you make, your own sibling will poison you.

Baffour Gyan doesn’t shy from doing the little things to enable his brother to succeed. He takes pride in supporting his brother and sometimes even serves as a bodyguard to protect his brother. Every family has someone destined to be the star so when you see that just support him or her to succeed because there’s nothing you can do to bring him or her down,” he said.

Asamoah Gyan, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, reacted to the video, stating, “Preach on.”

Gyan has never hidden his respect and admiration for his elder brother, who he perceives to be his ‘second god.”

“We all serve the living God but I will say he is my second god because he has done everything for me.” Those were the exact words Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan used in describing the influence of his brother Baffour Gyan on his career. “We all serve the living God but I will say he is my second god because he has done everything for me,” the former Sunderland player told Max TV.

“The mistakes he made in life, he made sure I didn’t go through them. He is like a guardian angel till now.” He added.

Detailing the impact and influence of his brother on his career, Asamoah recalled that it was Baffour’s advice that succeeded in making him decide on schooling in Accra, although he had different plans.

“He went to Adisadel College and I wanted to follow in his footsteps when I completed JHS. I had to choose Adisadel College, so I chose all the Cape Coast schools,” Baby Jet said.

  • Haaland now fastest and youngest player to score 40 goals in UCL

Haaland now fastest and youngest player to score 40 goals in UCL

Erling Haaland has made football history by achieving the dual distinction of being both the fastest and youngest player to score 40 goals in the Champions League, eclipsing Kylian Mbappe’s previous record.

The Norwegian phenom contributed a goal as Manchester City staged a comeback from a 2-0 deficit to triumph 3-2 against RB Leipzig, maintaining their unblemished record in this season’s premier European competition.

Haaland’s 40th goal in the Champions League came in only his 35th appearance, establishing him as the quickest player ever to reach this milestone, surpassing the previous record held by Ruud van Nistelrooy by 10 matches.

At the age of 23, Haaland also secured the title of the youngest player to reach 40 Champions League goals, breaking Mbappe’s record set in November 2022.

This remarkable achievement adds to Haaland’s week of records, having recently become the fastest player to score 50 goals in the Premier League. His goal against Liverpool in his 48th match in the English top-flight surpassed the previous mark of 65 games set by Andy Cole.

Speaking about City’s win, manager Pep Guardiola expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasising their ability to maintain high standards and consistency over the years. Looking ahead, Guardiola highlighted the significance of finishing first in the group stage to secure a favourable position in the Round of 16.

Pep Guardiola said: “Of course we are incredibly happy to have qualified with two games left. Finish first. We have time to think about it. Maybe we were not… clinical is not the right word… not clear, sweet, soft enough in the last moment to score more goals. But I love to see the team.

“The word that has defined this group of players for many years is consistency. We have high standards, and that is why we are still in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League. People say, ‘Yeah, the group stage is easy’, but you have to do it. In life, you have to do it when people expect you to do it. Two games left.

“Leipzig are the toughest opponents in this group and we have to try and finish further. It is important in the last 16 to have the weapon of second game at home rather than away.”

After helping City clinch the top spot in their group, Haaland may be allowed a rest for their final match against Crvena Zvezda in December. And the Norwegian will be looking to further boost his Premier League goal tally when the Cityzens take on title rivals Tottenham Hotspur back at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

  • Asante Bediatuo responds to his alleged involvement in sale of TOR to Terentco

Asante Bediatuo responds to his alleged involvement in sale of TOR to Terentco

Executive Secretary to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Nana Bediatuo Asante, has addressed reports suggesting his involvement in the unsuccessful deal to sell the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) to Terentco, a private company.

In a statement released by Bediatuo Asante and presented by his legal team, Marfo and Associates Legal Practitioners, he declared his lack of awareness regarding the mentioned deal. Additionally, he clarified that he does not own Terentco, contrary to assertions made in the media reports.

“In the said publication, your paper stated, among others, as follows: ‘In June this year, The Herald’s insider mentioned that the Energy Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, and a cousin of President Akufo-Addo, Nana Bediatuo Asante, who doubles as his Executive Secretary, have for some time now been haggling over the TOR State Facility. Terentco is alleged to be the baby of Nana Bediatuo and is about to take away the State facility almost for free to a company that hadn’t sold even a one-liter bottle of kerosene before’.

“We are instructed to inform you that our client does not have any dealings with the subject matter referred to supra and the same cannot be said to be the baby of our client. Moreover, our client has not haggled with anyone for the said TOR facility. Basic journalistic etiquette required you to at least cross-check your facts prior to publication but you deliberately published this false story for malicious reasons,” part of the statement reads.

    About the Terentco-TOR deal:

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a directive to suspend a proposed partnership agreement between the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Tema Energy and Processing Limited (TEPL). This directive comes after the Special Prosecutor’s Office conducted an analysis of the corruption risks associated with the proposed partnership.

In a letter dated November 21, 2023, addressed to TOR’s Managing Director, Daniel Osei Appiah, the OSP instructed TOR to provide all necessary documentation related to the agreement by the close of Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

The letter explicitly mandated TOR to immediately halt the proposed partnership agreement, ongoing negotiations, operations, and any other activities linked to the agreement until further notice from the Special Prosecutor.

While the exact reasons behind the OSP’s decision remain unclear, recent discontent among TOR staff has surfaced, particularly regarding five colleagues and two board members.

Allegations suggest that these individuals registered an entity named ‘TOR Workers’ Charity Fund’ to clandestinely acquire shares in the TOR-Torentco deal without the knowledge of over 500 workers.

The aggrieved workers claim that the TOR Workers’ Charity Trust, registered on August 29 of this year, was intended to support Torentco Asset Management Limited (TAML), now known as Tema Energy and Processing Limited (TEPL), as the new lessee for the proposed transaction.

Accusations include collusion among two Board Members, two management staff, two UNICOF executives, and one junior staff to ensure the TOR-Torentco deal’s approval.

Despite having a refining capacity of 45,000 barrels of oil per day, TOR has faced operational inconsistencies, ongoing losses, management crises, political interference, and challenges with outdated equipment. The Special Prosecutor’s intervention adds a new layer of scrutiny to the proposed partnership, further delaying the resolution of TOR’s operational challenges.

Sharing the picture of his visit to the hospital, Tony wrote: “This picture was taken two weeks ago when I visited my cousin Amaechi Monagor at the Nnewi Teaching Hospital. • A course for worry – AIDS Commission on surge in HIV infections among adolescents in Upper East Region

A course for worry – AIDS Commission on surge in HIV infections among adolescents in Upper East Region

Upper East Region is facing a significant rise in new HIV infections among adolescents, prompting a call for intensified efforts to address underlying causes and provide targeted support to this vulnerable group.

Sulemana Majeed, the Regional HIV/AIDS Focal Person, has expressed concern, stating that the HIV prevalence among adolescents ranges from 1.8 to 2.0 percent.

Majeed emphasises that without pragmatic measures to reduce the prevalence rate, the future for adolescents in the region appears bleak.

“The cause for worry is that the future generation, the adolescents whom we feel should stay negative and maintain their status because they are the productive force for the future, are those who are getting the new infection.”

The worrying aspect, according to Mr. Majeed, is that “it is not even the late adolescents; it is early adolescents between 10 to 14 years who are getting infected with the virus.”

The increasing trend of HIV infections among adolescents in the Upper East Region is attributed to factors such as a lack of HIV education, ignorance, and the vulnerability of young individuals to peer pressure for early sexual activity.

The Regional HIV/AIDS Focal Person, Sulemana Majeed, highlighted that with a population exceeding 1 million, over 7,000 people in the region are estimated to have been infected with the virus.

Approximately 5,000 individuals are still receiving medications at health facilities, while others have discontinued treatment for various reasons, such as feeling better, travel without informing facilities, or unfortunate deaths unrelated to HIV.

Majeed conveyed these concerns to the media after a health walk held in commemoration of World AIDS Day, celebrated over the weekend due to the concurrent National Farmers Day on December 1.

The theme for this year’s World AIDS Day celebration was “Let Communities Lead,” aiming to encourage individuals infected and most affected by HIV and AIDS to take on roles and initiatives that contribute to ending the disease as a public health concern by 2030.

A health walk, organized by the Ghana HIV and AIDS Network (GHANET) in collaboration with the Network of Persons Living with HIV (NAP+) and other stakeholders, marked the occasion. The event served as an opportunity to raise awareness about HIV self-testing (HIVST) and address various aspects related to HIV and AIDS.

The National Public Relations Officer of GHANET, Patrick Anamoo, said Ghana has now included blood-based methods of HIVST owing to the successful evaluations of the oral method. “CheckNOW is a blood-based method of HIVST that gives test results in just 15 minutes.

It is based on 3rd generation HIVST technology, which detects HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies in a fingerstick blood sample,” he explained.

Mr. Anamoo expressed confidence that the multiplication of HIVST testing options will help Ghana achieve the first 95 of the 95-95-95 UNAIDS targets. The Upper East Regional Chair of NAP+ says stigma remains a challenge to the fight to reduce the virus.

Stephen Appiah predicts Ghana’s fate ahead of 2023 AFCON

Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, is optimistic that winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is within reach for the Black Stars, despite their recent poor performance.

Appiah believes that the team has the capabilities to overcome the challenges in Ivory Coast and bring an end to Ghana’s trophy drought, provided all the necessary factors align.

“I am very confident that Ghana can win the Afcon,” he is quoted to have said at an event in Accra on Monday, November 27, 2023.

Commenting on Ghana’s recent run of poor results with just one win in four matches, Stephen Appiah reckoned that it is indicative of the evenly spread nature of footballing talents across the globe.

According to him, nations that hitherto were no match for the Black Stars have developed their game and now competing for success.

“Today football is played everywhere and that’s why you’ll find it difficult to even play Comoros. We should believe in ourselves and in the team. They should go out there and represent Ghana the best they can,” he said.

Black Stars have been placed in Group B for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, which will take place in Ivory Coast. In the group stage, Ghana will compete against Egypt, the record holders, as well as Cape Verde and Mozambique.

The 2023 AFCON is scheduled to commence on January 13, 2024, with the final set to be played on February 11, 2024.

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Teni has denied undergoing liposuction surgery to lose weight.

She expressed sadness that, after all her efforts at burning out excess fat and trimming down, people still claim she went under the knife to get her body done.

Teni revealed that she went through a “strict diet” for two months to achieve her current physique, stating that if she had done surgery, she would have a flat tummy by now.

In her words: “I went through a lot. I went through a lot of changes. I lost weight and some unfortunate fellows said I had surgery.

“If I did surgery, my stomach will be flat. I wish but I was scared. Surgery is not easy. It’s life-threatening. It’s not easy to go under the knife. I was on a strict diet. Ask my managers. No carbs. I was on a strict diet for two months.

“I made the decision to lose weight after I had survived the life-threatening COVID-19. I had COVID-19 twice: in 2020 and 2021. So, in January 2022, after the COVID-19, I just said, ‘Omo, it’s time [to lose weight].”

  • Speaker delays passage of Import Restriction Bill, sets Nov 30 as day for presentation

Speaker delays passage of Import Restriction Bill, sets Nov 30 as day for presentation

Import Restrictions Bill, advocated by the Minister of Trade and Industry, KT Hammond, faced another setback in Parliament on November 28, 2023, as the minister was once again barred from presenting the Legislative Instrument (LI) in the house.

This marks the third instance where the minister has been prevented from laying the LI before Parliament. The proposed Export and Import (Restrictions on Importation of Selected Strategic Products) Regulations, 2023, seek to limit the importation of 22 selected strategic goods into the country.

Despite holding pre-laying meetings with the Caucus of the House, KT Hammond’s efforts to present the LI were thwarted when the Minority staunchly opposed the move.

The minority contended that various business groups had petitioned Parliament to reject the LI, insisting that their concerns needed to be addressed.

Moreover, the minority argued that the LI posed dangers and would adversely impact numerous businesses in the country. Minority Chief Whip Ibrahim Ahmed cautioned the government to proceed cautiously with the LI, while former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu expressed concern about potential impact and reactions from retaliatory actions from affected countries against Ghana.

The Minority Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim, said, “Mr. Speaker, the matter is a very serious one that hinges on the survival of businesses in this country. Mr. Speaker, we are not just objecting, and care should be taken. Let’s reflect on the serious issues that have been raised on this floor, and the minority has raised objections. Which of them didn’t go back to come and fight for this country? And this is one of them.”

“Mr. Speaker, just yesterday, six associations—Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA), Food and Beverages Association of Ghana (FABAG), Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana, Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF), Chamber of Automobile Dealership Ghana (CADEG), and Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI)—wrote a petition, having confidence in members of this house, that we should take that petition into consideration.”

Despite the efforts of the sector minister, KT Hammond, to alleviate the concerns of the Minority by stating that many of their issues had been addressed in an updated draft policy document, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, opted to postpone the laying of the bill. The new date for this action is set for Thursday, November 30, 2023.

Speaker Bagbin instructed the Minister to provide the updated draft policy document to members of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee. This measure aims to ensure that all concerns are thoroughly addressed before presenting the document to the House, thereby preventing any further delays.

Bruno Fernandes jabs ‘regular’ critic Roy Keane after Man Utd win against Everton

Bruno Fernandes remains firm in his belief that he is the right choice to captain Manchester United, despite facing criticism from figures like Roy Keane and Paul Ince.

The Portuguese midfielder has been under scrutiny for his demeanour since taking on the captaincy, with pundits arguing that his frequent complaints and interactions with referees don’t contribute positively to the team.

Fernandes, however, attributes the criticism to a decline in his goal and assist contributions since his impressive start at Old Trafford following his move from Sporting in January 2020.

In the beginning, everything was perfect, because when you arrive in the first game, if you do something different than anyone else is doing, is gonna be all flowers. But after that, I understand the tough part is always coming, because when the result is not coming, when the performance is not what everyone expects it to be, because the expectations are always higher and higher.”

Roy Keane, the legendary United captain, has been particularly vocal in his critique of Fernandes, expressing dissatisfaction with his decision to concede a penalty to Marcus Rashford against Everton on Sunday.

Paul Ince has also voiced his disapproval, suggesting that Fernandes tends to make everything about himself instead of rallying his teammates.

The United skipper told a press conference: “Obviously you don’t like to be criticised; everyone is the same, but at the same time, I have to do what I think is best for my team. It is quite normal that when you play for Manchester United, you are going to get criticised, even if you do well or badly, if you do the wrong or the right thing. I just have to deal with that; it is normal since I arrived at the club.

Fernandes added: “I know since I arrived at the club, my numbers have made me a target so not keeping the same numbers on goals and assists is sometimes a problem for me in the criticism because they are going to (sic) take it from there. Now is the captaincy; there is gonna be always something. Now my focus is on the team, the staff, and everyone who works with me day by day, I think they are pretty happy with me, the way I am is the same since I arrived at the club; it has not changed since being captain. I don’t think it has to change. I am really open with everyone so no one until now has had a problem with me, so I think I should keep it like that; everyone is pretty happy with my leadership.”

The captain will lead United into one of the most intimidating atmospheres in the world when they face Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday, needing a victory to ensure they remain in Europe’s elite competition.

I collapsed several times in Kuami Eugene’s house – Mary

Kuami Eugene’s former housekeeper, Mary, has added another layer to her recent outspokenness following her fallout with the highlife musician.

Mary shared details of incidents where she experienced health issues, even collapsing while residing in the singer’s house, citing an improper diet and undisclosed factors.

During her recent interview with Der Madking TV, she claimed that on one occasion, she informed Eugene about her condition. However, despite being out of the country at the time, he allegedly only sent money for her to buy drugs, not encouraging her to seek proper medical attention.

Mary explained that the funds provided were for purchasing blood tonics and vitamins, which proved insufficient in addressing her health concerns. As the situation worsened, she had to seek assistance from a neighbour and eventually had to be rushed to the hospital.

“I didn’t eat well and it created problems for me. There was food but not always. Sometimes the food gets finished. There could be rice but nothing to prepare it with. And when instances like that happen, he steps out and when I ask him for money, he tells me he will be back soon but never returns early. If I don’t have money to buy food, I’d have to starve till he gets back.

“I have collapsed about four times, both at home and outside. In one of the instances, he travelled outside the country and I informed him about the situation. But he sent me money and told me to buy drugs. I told him I wanted to go to the hospital but he insisted that I buy drugs instead.

“I bought some blood tonic and vitamin C, but my condition worsened at night so I called one of our neighbours and complained about my plight. My teeth were even clenching at the moment; my palm turned white and I was palpitating. When I regained consciousness at the hospital, I kept mentioning his name. I won’t sit here and lie,” she expressed.

Addressing the numerous criticisms she has faced for expressing her thoughts, Mary asserted that all her statements are nothing but the truth.

“God is watching us. God knows I am not telling lies,” she insisted.

Amy Newman landed her current husband with her ‘magic’ light soup

Veteran gospel musician Amy Newman has revealed that she is among the women who won their husbands over with exceptional culinary skills.

Addressing the notion that some men marry for food, Mrs. Newman shared that her husband was captivated by her light soup recipe, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Amy Newman mentioned that she discovered her cooking talent at a young age, which played a significant role in her early marriage.

During a conversation on United Showbiz, she emphasised that in her heyday, the criteria for attracting a husband were not complex. According to her, all a man sought was a woman with excellent homemaking skills.

“It’s true that some men marry because of food. For instance, in my case, my husband married me because of light soup. I was young at that time but I was a very good cook. In our time, food landed us husbands; it was all about knowing how to cook and serving your man.

Reacting to Hilda Baci’s statements that Ghana jollof lacks flavour, she said,

“I don’t agree our jollof isn’t good. My jollof has no size. I’ve got the skills and ideas that make my food come out really good.”

Enjoyment People’s Party: Nana Aba proposes six things she will do if she becomes president

Renowned media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has outlined six ‘sarcastic’ initiatives she would undertake if given the opportunity to become the President of Ghana in the near future.

Among these proposals, she humorously suggested that party executives from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would be in charge of distributing minerals during naming ceremonies and other events.

In a lighthearted manner, she declared Fridays a national holiday for relaxation, making enjoyment a mandatory aspect of the country’s culture. Additionally, Nana Aba envisioned a future where the sight of children on the streets would be eradicated.

Addressing unemployment concerns, she playfully proposed making every youth the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of state institutions and other agencies, allowing them to provide for themselves and their immediate families.

“Every youth will be made CEO, there will be no work on Fridays; Enjoyment will be compulsory; No street kids; Jollof with smoke smelling inside will be compulsory at funerals, NPP and NDC executives will be responsible for sharing minerals and pie at naming ceremonies, etc…

“Enjoyment People’s Party, EPP – anigye nkoaaa,” she wrote on her X page after a fan with the Twitter account name ‘Leo’ asked what she would do if she is voted president of Ghana.

Nana Aba Anamoah has not expressed an interest in venturing into politics with her influence as a renowned media personality.

It is yet to be known whether Nana Aba will enter politics or not in the near future.

  • Stop it! Those nude will come back to haunt you – Empress Gifty advices

Ghanaian gospel artist Gifty Adorye, widely known as Empress Gifty, has offered advice to women, urging them to avoid sharing nude photos and videos with men during a relationship.

She emphasised that while it has become common for today’s youth to exchange such intimate content with their partners, it could lead to complications in the future if the relationship doesn’t progress to marriage.

Empress Gifty cautioned women against sending nude content, pointing out the potential repercussions it may have if they end up marrying someone else.

During a TikTok live session, she revealed that some married women are living in fear because their explicit photos are still in the possession of their previous partners, highlighting the importance of not tolerating such practises.

“I want to ask the women what kind of orgasm or satisfaction they get when they send their nudes to men. Most of the married women are silent because their nudes are in different places. Why would you take a shot of your private part and send it to a man? The youth of today, because of distance relationships, send their nudes to men; some even do a video of their nudity. What does that mean?

“It is only a shallow-minded woman who will send her nudes to men they are dating. After sending those videos and you later break up with the boy, what would you do?” she quizzed.

She continued: “Are you going to spoil the person’s phone or what to get rid of it? Continue sending the nudes to men and when you later break up with the person, the same pictures will come back to haunt you. If you are fond of doing that, you better put a stop to it and delete the pictures immediately; otherwise, the same weapon will be used against you.”

Empress Gifty’s advice is particularly relevant in a time when it has become commonplace for women to share intimate photos with their male partners to fulfill their sexual desires.

Individuals engaging in such practices should seriously reconsider their choices to avoid the potential risks highlighted by Empress Gifty. It is crucial for those accustomed to such behaviours to rethink their approach and steer clear of the dangers cautioned by the gospel artist.

1D1F: Even my ginger factory is operational, what do you have to show – Dumelo demands answers

Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo,
has raised significant inquiries regarding the financial investment made by the government in the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative.

He has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to transparently disclose the progress of his administration in terms of both expenditure on the 1D1F program and the actual number of factories established.

Dumelo pointed out that, despite taking nine months to establish his ginger factory, the government has not even commenced the fulfilment of its factory promise to the people of the Oti region after nearly eight years in power.

“How much has the government spent on 1D1F so far? How many factories are fully functional and operational? Which specific product (being produced here in Ghana) as a result of the 1D1F initiative has reduced our import bill?

“My ginger factory in Oti is not and cannot be under 1D1F. We built that factory in nine Months. It’s almost 8 years and the government hasn’t even laid a block to fulfil their ginger factory promise to the people of Oti,” John Dumelo wrote on his X page.

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Kobina Tahir Hammond, revealed that from 2017 to the present, there are 296 projects in various stages of implementation under the One District, One Factory (1D1F) Programme.

Breaking down the figures, there are 126 operational companies, 143 companies under construction, and 27 companies in the pipeline phase. K.T Hammond shared this information on Tuesday during a parliamentary session while responding to a question posed by Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Gomoa East.

Paitoo sought details on the number of factories established by the government under the 1D1F Programme and inquired about the extent of collaboration with private companies or organisations.

In response, Hammond emphasized that out of the 296 factories, 233 were initiated by private-sector business promoters with government facilitation, while the government directly established 63 1D1F projects.

“Mr Speaker, it must be noted that the government’s active facilitation of private sector investment in 1D1F projects consists of special incentives, including tax exemptions and the provisions of interest subsidies on loans granted by Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs). It also includes, where applicable, the extension of critical utilities such as access to electricity and water,” said K.T. Hammond.

  • I won’t leave my life for others – Kuami Eugene

I won’t leave my life for others – Kuami Eugene

Renowned Ghanaian artist, Kuami Eugene, has voiced his resistance to conforming to prescribed images within the entertainment sector.

During an open discussion with MX24 TV, Kuami Eugene highlighted the public’s demand for artists, including himself, to portray a modest and humble demeanour, particularly in interview settings.

He noted that artists who exhibit confidence and openly recognise their successes frequently encounter opposition.

Emphasising his commitment to authenticity, Kuami Eugene asserted his determination to remain genuine and not dilute his identity to cater to external expectations.

“At the end of the day, I feel that if I sugarquote myself just to please you, I’m not pleasing myself. I don’t want to put myself in a situation where I’m living my whole life for other people. So if it’s an offence to be me, then it’s cool.

“I know that in the industry I find myself in, you should appear as meek. You come to interviews and you are asked how many awards you have. You say it and someone is mad in their house. They want you to present yourself as solemn; solemn means being humble, being humble means being meek, and being meek means being down there.

“Because if you’re confident enough, that means you feel you are up there. And we hate to see people out there,” he explained.

Kuami Eugene linked the ongoing criticism directed at accomplished artists, including himself, to the challenging economic conditions in the country.

He explained that the animosity towards celebrities stems from the widespread difficulties people are facing, suggesting that individuals, in their need to express frustration, often choose to channel their discontent towards public figures.

“Maybe it’s just because of the economy and the position we find ourselves in as Ghanaians; maybe the economic crisis; it’s just too hard to see somebody enjoy life when all of us are not enjoying life,” he said.

Video: Ronaldo caused a referee to reverse a penalty awarded him during Persepolis clash

Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction with his team’s accomplishments, despite the 0-0 draw against Persepolis in the AFC Champions League on Monday.

In the match played on their home turf, Ronaldo’s squad failed to secure a goal, even after being granted a penalty in the early stages when the Portuguese star was fouled in the box.

Notably, the 38-year-old personally informed the referee that no foul had occurred, leading to a VAR review that ultimately reversed the decision.

Despite taking just a point from the game, Ronaldo expressed his delight on social media. He wrote, “Happy that we qualified first in our group and to have achieved 20 games unbeaten. Great Teamwork.”

The draw secured Al-Nassr’s advancement to the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League.

They are set to lead the group, as Persepolis trails by five points with only one match remaining in the competition’s initial round.

Looking ahead, Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr teammates aim to sustain their unbeaten streak as they resume Saudi Pro League play against Al-Hilal on Friday.

Notably, Al-Hilal currently holds the top spot in the league, maintaining a four-point lead over Al-Nassr.

  • That’s wrong – NPP communicator condemns youth assembly at Mahama’s office

That’s wrong – NPP communicator condemns youth assembly at Mahama’s office

Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, a member of the communication team for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly criticised what she perceives as the aggressive assembly of National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth at the office of their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Musah-Saaka emphasised the need for collective condemnation of such actions, asserting that wrong is wrong. The condemnation stems from a video circulating online showing NDC supporters gathering at Mahama’s office, ostensibly for a cleanup exercise.

However, concerns were raised about the display of tools for the cleanup, with individuals wielding bows, arrows, machetes, and even a cutlass. During an interview on Metro TV, Musah-Saaka expressed that engaging in a violent manner while carrying out a cleanup is not appropriate.

She questioned the choice of weapons for a cleanup exercise and underscored the importance of honesty when addressing such actions.

“We have seen cleanup exercises in this country. What do we clean with brooms, hoes, brushes and all? What I saw were people in war regalia, with bows and arrows. I saw people with machetes and the one that even amazed me is a lady with a cutlass wielding it on her chest. It was a fresh cutlass; I don’t think it even touched the grass.

“Look, there are tools for cleaning; do we now use bows and arrows to weed or to clean? Or perhaps you use that to remove cobwebs. Someone is wearing regalia with machetes that the warriors use; what are they doing to use it for? Or was there a fish pond there that they were going to target fishes and other things. Let’s be honest: when it is wrong, it is wrong. Going to clean is not wrong, but wielding all these weapons for what?” she asked.

Expressing concern for the involvement of young people in such activities, the NPP communicator said: “I get worried when young people do this; whatever we are doing in politics now is to the benefit of young people.

“When you check the 2021 census, our population has transitioned from children to young people. So, when you have youth using their productive hours, brandishing cutlasses and doing all these, one must be worried.”

  • Sack that minister immediately!- Henry Akoto reacts to minister’s 24-hr economy remarks

Sack that minister immediately!- Henry Akoto reacts to minister’s 24-hr economy remarks

Henry Osei Akoto, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the 2020 parliamentary candidate for the Oforikrom constituency, has called for the immediate removal of the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, following his recent comments on the 24-hour economy proposal.

Expressing bewilderment, Akoto questioned why a state minister would make such statements in a public forum.

Yakubu, during a public event, dismissed the 24-hour economy policy advocated by the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

The minister’s argument centred on the potential impact of the policy on marriages in the region, suggesting that the predominantly farming male population, if engaged around the clock, would have limited time for spousal intimacy.

In an interview with GhanaWeb, Henry Akoto emphasised that the minister’s remarks warrant immediate dismissal.

“In fact, I just can’t understand how a minister of state can stand in front of the public and make this kind of pronouncement that we are going to lose our wives when we go on this 24-hour economy. I mean, this is nonsensical. This minister should be sacked with immediate effect.

“You don’t do this. Wherever he’s travelled around the world, he himself knows that every economy is running a 24-hour shift. Why would he come and tell us that if we go on a 24-hour economy shift, we are going to lose our wives? This is barbaric; this shouldn’t come from a minister of state. I’m very disappointed in his statement and he should be condemned for those comments,” he stated.

    What the regional minister said

“The vice president is saying that he understands the region. He says that in this 24-hour economy, my brothers, when we work on the farms and we are tired in the night we have to sleep with our wives.

“We have to be with our wives. In the night, you want us to go and be farmers, and then people will come and take our wives away?” the minister was questioned amidst shouts of no from his audience.

Yul, allegedly denying his marriage to Judy during court proceedings, insisted that May was his only wife.

In response to blog claims, Yul and Judy expressed surprise and have now taken to wearing the wedding ring again, seemingly as a form of damage control.

The news of Nana Agradaa’s wedding shocked many, as images and videos circulated of the Heavenway Champion Ministries International founder exchanging vows with her junior pastor, Mr. Asiamah.

In a recent video, Nana Agradaa’s parents, acknowledged by the officiating pastor, were present at the marriage ceremony, sharing their reactions.

Nana Agradaa’s mother, addressing the congregation after the nuptials, expressed gratitude to God for the successful wedding.

Despite facing challenges, she noted that everything worked out, expressing happiness that Nana Agradaa, also known as Evangelist Mama Pat, had avoided a curse by adhering to God’s law against remaining single.

“Whatever was planned for this marriage never worked and if my daughter has a husband now, all I have to do is thank God.

“God said He created two human beings each and one cannot walk alone because when one walks alone, it is a curse and so I am thankful to God that my daughter, Mama Pat Asiamah, is now married,” she said.

Nana Agradaa’s father also took the opportunity to address speculations surrounding his daughter’s health, dismissing rumours of illness and clarifying that she had chosen to go into isolation as part of her preparation for marriage.

“There’s a saying that when a woman goes to the bathroom and keeps long, then she’s preparing. People were saying she’s sick and all of that but she was waiting for her husband.

“She was preparing for her husband, Asiamah. The creator has paved the way for them to get married and that’s why we thank all of you,” he said.

UK authorities release CCTV footage detailing fatal stabbing of Ghanaian student by two Nigerians

A 19-year-old Nigerian, Ogechi Eke, has been convicted of murdering a 19-year-old Ghanaian student, Kwabena Osei-Poku, at the University of Northampton.

The incident, which occurred on April 24, 2023, involved Eke and his accomplice, Melvin Lebaga-Idubor, stabbing Osei-Poku in a dispute over a significant amount of cannabis.

According to a report by northants.police.uk, the two Nigerians initially arranged to meet the victim at a university flat, claiming they wanted to buy drugs from him.

However, upon meeting, Eke and Lebaga-Idubor decided to steal the drugs and warned Osei-Poku not to sell in the area.

The altercation led to a fight, during which Lebaga-Idubor stabbed Osei-Poku twice. Despite the paramedics’ efforts, Osei-Poku succumbed to his injuries.

The incident was captured in CCTV footage released by Northamptonshire Police, depicting the victim pursuing the accused on the street and the two Nigerians running back from the scene.

This led to a fight and an eyewitness is reported to have heard Lebage-Idubor say, “This is my strip. What are you doing—strutting drugs around here? Our line is here.”

Lebaga-Idubor successfully took the drugs from the victim’s hand and left the campus with Eke.

Osei-Poku then pursued them to retrieve his drugs, leading to an altercation.

During the confrontation on New South Bridge Road, Lebaga-Idubor stabbed Osei-Poku twice, resulting in his death at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.

CCTV footage released by Northamptonshire Police captured the incident, showing the victim following the accused on the street.

The video also depicted the two Nigerians running back from the scene and entering a building, where one of them was seen assisting the other, who was injured.

  • Bawumia’s Ghana card to aid Ghanaians to buy cars on credit soon – Vice president announces

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has unveiled initiatives aimed at enabling Ghanaians to access credit and acquire cars through the utilisation of the Ghana Card and the ongoing digital transformation of the economy.

Addressing the audience at the 57th Congregation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on November 24, Dr. Bawumia disclosed that discussions are underway with local automobile companies, such as Solar Taxi, to facilitate the implementation of this groundbreaking initiative.

“The Ghana Card will also become the anchor for a credit system in Ghana, and it will take a couple of car manufacturers in Ghana, notably Solar Taxi, to give cars on credit to people,” asaaseradio.com quoted Bawumia as having said.

He emphasised that the Ghana Card would serve as the exclusive prerequisite for transactions, allowing individuals to obtain cars and make payments over an extended period.

The vice president also revealed his intentions to implement a credit scoring system for individuals in 2024.

This system, according to him, is designed to furnish individuals with a reliable credit history, improve the financial sector, tackle trust-related concerns, lower the cost of conducting business, and encourage financial discipline.

“Ghana next year will be introducing a credit scoring system for individuals. Every individual will have a credit score. Right now, our credit scoring system does not exist, so we are seen as risky,” he added.

  • Jamie Foxx addresses accusations of sexual assault

Jamie Foxx addresses accusations of sexual assault

A representative for Jamie Foxx has responded to the sexual assault lawsuit filed against the actor, stating that the alleged August 2015 incident “never happened.”

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, the accuser, identified as Jane Doe in the lawsuit, claimed that Foxx sexually assaulted her during an encounter at a popular New York City restaurant.

“In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. That case was dismissed shortly thereafter,” the spokesperson said. “The claims are no more viable today than they were then. We are confident they will be dismissed again.”

“And once they are, Mr. Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action,” the spokesperson added.

In the lawsuit that was filed with the New York Supreme Court, the plaintiff claimed the incident happened at Catch NYC. The alleged victim claimed she saw Foxx and Catch Hospitality Group co-founder Mark Birnbaum having drinks when she went to the establishment.

The alleged victim claimed that she later made her way to the Django Unchained actor’s table with a friend and asked for a picture. The plaintiff claimed Foxx obliged and went ahead to take “several photographs,” adding that the actor “seemed intoxicated.”

She also alleged Foxx told her, “Wow, you have that supermodel body.” “You smell so good,” and “You look like Nickie.” She claimed she asked the 55-year-old actor who “Nickie” was, and he responded by saying, “Gabrielle Union.” She alleged Foxx subsequently grabbed her arm and took her to a secluded area.

After they got there, Doe claimed Foxx “placed both of his hands on her waist, moved them under her ‘crop top’, and began rubbing her breasts.” She claimed she tried to move away and saw a security guard “some distance away who saw what was happening but walked further away.” She also claimed the Law Abiding Citizen actor then placed his hands into her pants and inserted his fingers in her vagina and anus, PEOPLE reported.

The plaintiff claimed Foxx stopped what he was doing after he noticed her friend had come around. The woman claimed the incident resulted in her suffering an injury, adding that she was “rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled; [and] was caused to undergo medical treatment and advice.”

She also claimed she “was unable to pursue her usual and regular activities; was caused to undergo great conscious pain and suffering, continues to undergo such, and will permanently be affected by the injuries and emotional distress she incurred as a result of the sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery.” She further alleged that she “has suffered and continues to suffer physical and emotional injuries, anxiety, distress, embarrassment and economic harm.”

The plaintiff is pursuing an unspecified amount, including damages for pain and suffering and economic loss. Doe filed the lawsuit under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, a law effective since November 2022.

This law provides a “one-year lookback window for survivors of sexual assault that occurred when they were over the age of 18 to sue their abusers regardless of when the abuse occurred.” The final day for alleged victims to file lawsuits under the act was Thursday, November 23.

Foxx’s recent legal situation follows a sexual abuse lawsuit filed by Cassie, the ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, against the music mogul.

Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, asserted that Diddy subjected her to sex trafficking, as well as physical and sexual assault, for about 10 years. However, the two entertainers announced they had settled the lawsuit a day after it was filed in New York.

Liposuction, Brazilian Butt lifts and high chances of dying: Stephanie Benson details

Ghanaian artist Stephanie Benson has cautioned against the dangers of Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), emphasising the potential risks associated with the procedure.

Benson discouraged women from opting for BBLs, citing a high 70% mortality rate if complications arise during the process. She shared a personal experience of losing a friend due to an unsuccessful BBL, leaving behind young children.

In an interview with Anita Akufo on TV3, Stephanie Benson strongly advised women against considering BBLs, emphasising the importance of prioritising their lives over body enhancements.

“For me, taking care of my body is something I don’t compromise on at all. The chances of you dying on liposuction are a lot less than going to do a BBL [Brazilian Butt Lift].

“With a BBL, there is at least a 70% chance that you might pass away and it’s rising. I feel as though people think it’s scaremongering. Even surgeons in the UK [United Kingdom] and America don’t like doing it,” she said.

Stephanie Benson continued: “These are the top surgeons but they couldn’t do it because if any of that fat goes into any part of your body you are dead. One of my good friends just died from doing a BBL. She’s a year younger than me. I’m thinking, why? You’ve left your children because you want a big butt? This whole thing is mind-boggling.”

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a surgical procedure in which a medical practitioner (doctor) transfers fat from one’s belly, hips, lower back, or thighs to enhance the buttocks.

In recent times, some celebrities have openly discussed the agony and complications they experienced due to failed BBL procedures. Nigerian transgender person Jay Boogie, for instance, recently shared the challenges she is facing as a result of complications from a BBL.

Renowned content creator and skit comedian Rass Nane, popularly known as Dr. Likee, has been seen alongside Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, the former child actor from “Beasts of No Nation,” commonly known as Strika.

This development has sparked anticipation and positive reactions, hinting at a potential collaboration between the two in upcoming skits or projects.

In a post shared by blogger GhKweku, the trio posed for a photo with the caption, “Can’t wait for this one,” implying that Strika may soon feature in a skit with Dr Likee.

This positive turn comes in the wake of a recent and disheartening video circulating on social media, depicting Strika in a distressed state while on the streets.

Strika’s enduring struggles have been a persistent concern. In 2019, gospel singer Minister Edward encountered him in Kaneshie, where Strika shared the hardships he faced both before and after his involvement in the movie.

He mentioned engaging in yam selling at Agbogbloshie Market and residing with his grandmother in North Kaneshie.

Bruno Fernandes offers Rashford his second goal of the season with penalty kick chance in Everton game

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes received praise on social media for his compassionate gesture towards struggling teammate Marcus Rashford on Sunday, November 26.

In a 3-0 victory over Everton, United took an early lead with an extraordinary bicycle kick from Alejandro Garnacho, who connected with a Diogo Dalot cross just three minutes into the match.

Despite Garnacho’s stunning goal, United faced challenges in creating clear-cut chances during the first half.

Everton’s main threat came from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who forced some impressive saves from goalkeeper Onana.

In the second half, United had the opportunity to extend their lead when former Red Devil Ashley Young was penalised for tripping Anthony Martial in the box.

While many anticipated Bruno Fernandes to take the penalty, the Portugal international surprised everyone by handing the spot-kick to Marcus Rashford.

Rashford successfully converted, marking only his second goal of the season.

Rashford, who has faced criticism for his recent form, especially in the Premier League, received support and recognition for his goal, with Fernandes’ selfless act garnering praise on social media.

‘CR7 Signature Museum’: Saudis honour Ronaldo with museum; he visits to take a look

Cristiano Ronaldo recently toured the new CR7 Signature Museum in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The museum showcases a wax figure adorned in a complete Al-Nassr kit, alongside Ronaldo’s significant trophies and personal memorabilia.

In an online video, Ronaldo can be seen exploring various sections of the museum, reliving moments from his illustrious career. Notably, he paused to take a photograph with the wax figure.

Time Out Riyadh reports that the museum draws inspiration from the life story and career of the Al Nassr player.

Formerly associated with Real Madrid and Manchester United, Ronaldo appeared joyous as he revisited some of his most cherished football memories.

With two decades of playing the sport, he has amassed a wealth of incredible experiences.

The inauguration of the museum coincided with the Riyadh Season festival, part of the ongoing festivities that commenced in October and are anticipated to continue into early next year.

Ronaldo, who made the move to the Middle East earlier this year amid reported discord with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, has been prolific in scoring for his club and recently secured his first trophy.

Having opened another museum in Portugal on his home island of Madeira in 2013, the Portugal star continues to make his mark in the football world.

In his 27 appearances for the SPL giants, Ronaldo has notched an impressive 32 goals and provided 11 assists, as per Transfermarkt. This season, he leads the goal-scoring charts with 15 goals from 13 games.

    Lionel Messi reportedly
expressed astonishment at the early promise displayed by Phil Foden during his breakthrough at Manchester City.

Foden made his debut under Pep Guardiola in 2017 at the age of 17 in a UEFA Champions League match against Feyenoord.

Recognised as one of the world’s premier young talents, Foden has secured 15 major titles, including the Champions League, within five years.

Despite being a key player for Guardiola, Foden has occasionally played second-fiddle to Kevin De Bruyne.

This season, he has seen increased playing time due to De Bruyne’s hamstring injury in the opening game against Burnley.

Messi, having noticed Foden’s potential, inquired about the young English international’s abilities in training from his compatriot Sergio Aguero.

Aguero, a close friend of Messi, played alongside Foden for approximately four years before moving from Manchester to Barcelona.

While Messi and Foden share similarities in playing style and creativity, Messi maintains a clear advantage in terms of goal-scoring.

This season, Foden has contributed to nine goals for Manchester City.

In a related context, Kylian Mbappe’s endorsement of Messi for the Ballon d’Or sparked controversy, with some fans advocating for Erling Haaland.

Messi ultimately won the award, leading by 105 points over Haaland, with many considering the young striker a future contender.

  • Terry Venables, ex-England and Barcelona boss, passes away at 80

Terry Venables, ex-England and Barcelona boss, passes away at 80

Terry Venables, the former England manager, has passed away at the age of 80 following an extended illness.

The announcement was made through a statement released by the League Managers’ Association on behalf of Venables’ family.

It read: “We are totally devastated by the loss of a wonderful husband and father who passed away peacefully yesterday after a long illness. We would ask that privacy be given at this incredibly sad time to allow us to mourn the loss of this lovely man who we were so lucky to have had in our lives.”

Terry Venables, who also had managerial stints at Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona, notably achieved success by winning the FA Cup with Tottenham in 1991.

As the manager of the England national team, he guided them to the semifinals of the 1996 European Championship, which they hosted.

In November 1996, Venables took charge of Australia, leading the Socceroos to an unprecedented run to the final of the 1997 Confederations Cup.

However, in late 1997, he experienced the infamous moment in Socceroos history during an intercontinental playoff against Iran.

Despite holding a 3-1 aggregate lead with 15 minutes remaining, a lone Australian fan’s interruption led to a loss of momentum, resulting in two late goals for Iran.

This heartbreaking turn of events cost Australia their first World Cup berth in 24 years.

Venables’ managerial career also included spells at English clubs Crystal Palace and Leeds United.

During his tenure as Barcelona coach, he secured La Liga, ending an 11-year title drought, and led the team to the European Cup final.

Additionally, Venables played a pivotal role in bringing British strikers Gary Lineker and Mark Hughes to Camp Nou.

“The best, most innovative coach that I had the privilege and pleasure of playing for,” Lineker, who also played under Venables at Spurs and England, wrote on X. “He was much more than just a great manager; he was vibrant, he was charming, he was witty, and he was a friend.”

England manager Gareth Southgate, who played under Venables for the Three Lions during Euro 96, added: “Any player will have great affinity with the manager that gave them their opportunity, but it was quickly evident playing for Terry Venables that he was an outstanding coach and manager.

Tactically excellent, he had a wonderful manner, capable of handling everyone from the youngest player to the biggest star.

“He was open-minded, forward-thinking, enjoyed life to the full and created a brilliant environment with England that allowed his players to flourish and have one of the most memorable tournaments in England’s history. A brilliant man who made people feel special, I’m very sad to hear of his passing and my thoughts are with Yvette and all of his family.”

Terry Venables commenced his professional playing career with Chelsea in 1960. Throughout his playing days, he represented several clubs, including Tottenham, Queens Park Rangers, and Crystal Palace, before transitioning into a managerial role at Crystal Palace upon retirement.

During his playing career, Venables amassed over 500 league appearances and secured silverware with Chelsea, winning the League Cup in 1965, and with Spurs, clinching the FA Cup in 1967. His international playing career saw him make two appearances for England.

Beyond his playing and managerial roles, Venables took on the position of chief executive at Spurs for a two-year period from 1991 to ’93.

“We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Terry Venables, our former player, manager and chief executive, who passed away on Saturday,” Spurs said in a statement.

  • Arsenal mull Douglas Luiz as they revamp midfield – Sources

Arsenal mull Douglas Luiz as they revamp midfield – Sources

Arsenal is considering a midfield overhaul in January, targeting Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz as a key option, especially with uncertainties surrounding Thomas Partey’s future, according to sources from ESPN.

Despite having had three bids for Luiz rejected in September 2022, totaling around £25 million, and the player signing a contract extension until 2026, Arsenal’s interest persists.

Luiz has been a crucial part of Aston Villa’s strong season, starting all 13 Premier League games.

However, any potential move for Luiz in the midst of Villa’s promising campaign would likely require a significantly improved offer from Arsenal.

The club, with limited funds after a substantial summer spending of over £200 million, structured the deal for goalkeeper David Raya to comply with financial rules.

To finance new signings, Arsenal may consider the departure of Thomas Partey, who has struggled with ongoing injury issues and started only three league games this season.

The 30-year-old midfielder, Thomas Partey, is facing a sidelined period until the New Year due to a hamstring issue and is expected to join Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations from Jan. 13 to Feb. 11.

Recent reports suggest Juventus is monitoring Partey, and sources from ESPN indicate that Arsenal had considered letting the midfielder leave during the summer, but no suitable offer materialised, despite earlier interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

While Arsenal is open to retaining Partey, it remains uncertain if another club will formalise their interest. Partey’s potential departure could provide Arsenal with more financial flexibility to pursue Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.

However, Mikel Arteta might prioritise other areas, with ongoing interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Wolves winger Pedro Neto.

  • Arteta stands behind Ramsdale despite mistakes

Arteta stands behind Ramsdale despite mistakes

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta commended goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for displaying resilience after surviving two first-half errors in the team’s 1-0 Premier League victory against Brentford on Saturday.

While Kai Havertz’s late-headed goal took centre stage in securing Arsenal’s position at the top of the table, Ramsdale, making his first league start since September, became a focal point of discussion.

Ramsdale’s recent stint on the bench behind David Raya raised eyebrows, but given an opportunity to prove himself, he faced a challenging first half.

His caught-in-possession mishap within his own area led to a Bryan Mbeumo shot, cleared off the line by Declan Rice.

Additionally, he made an inexplicable error by throwing the ball onto the turf while attempting to send it forward from his gloves.

Despite these shaky moments, Ramsdale regained composure in the second half.

However, Arteta might have lingering concerns about the goalkeeper’s overall performance.

“Courage. He has big courage and a big personality and that’s what we need,” Arteta told reporters. “This is football. I’m so happy with the team. The way the team performed with the clean sheet We move on.”

Dreams FC coach Karim Zito expresses dislike for Man City’s Pep Guardiola

Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito recently disclosed that, despite his admiration for Pep Guardiola’s coaching philosophy, he doesn’t have a favourable opinion of the Manchester City coach.

Zito attributed his dislike to his strong allegiance to Spanish giants Real Madrid, which creates a natural rivalry with Guardiola, a known Barcelona supporter.

Nevertheless, Zito was swift to acknowledge his admiration for Guardiola’s notable skill in fostering and developing young players.

“The person I admire in coaching is Pep Guardiola, but I don’t like him, but I like his philosophy because of where I started my career as a developer,” he said on GPL Xpress on TV3.

“I don’t like him, maybe because I am Real Madrid; I was a Barcelona fan, but then Ronaldo left, and when he joined Real Madrid, I moved there.”

Karim Zito, the coach who led Dreams FC to victory in the FA Cup last season, also holds the position of head coach for Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets.

In a sombre turn of events, Asante Kotoko is currently in mourning following the passing of the club’s former captain, Ernest Papa Arko. The ex-striker succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Sunday, November 26.

Papa Arko was a notable figure at Kotoko during his prime, contributing to the team’s triumph in the African Cup of Champions Clubs (now CAF Champions League) in 1983.

He also represented the Black Stars, participating in two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.

Osimhen ranks first on Chelsea’s wish list

Chelsea has identified Napoli’s unsettled striker, Victor Osimhen, as their top transfer target for January, reports The Telegraph.

The Blues, seeking added attacking prowess following a challenging start to the season and currently standing 10th in the Premier League, view Mauricio Pochettino as the ideal manager to propel them forward.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international appears receptive to a move to Stamford Bridge. However, meeting Osimhen’s £100 million release clause may require Chelsea to break their transfer record.

Blues owner Todd Boehly has previously surpassed the £100 million mark twice, securing Enzo Fernández from Benfica and Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.

In an interesting twist, former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who maintains a friendship with Osimhen, could play a crucial role as a mediator.

Koulibaly, now with Al Hilal, is reportedly still in contact with the West London club.

Despite facing challenges at Napoli, Osimhen has demonstrated fine form, netting six goals in 11 appearances this season.

In the previous season, he scored an impressive 31 goals in 39 games, contributing to Napoli’s Serie A title triumph after a 33-year drought.

Jude Bellingham’s availability – Ancelotti offers updates on youngsters fitness

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that Jude Bellingham is still struggling with a shoulder injury despite a goal-scoring return for Real Madrid.

The midfielder missed consecutive matches leading up to the international break, having been compelled to withdraw from the England squad for the last two Euro 2024 qualifiers due to a shoulder dislocation suffered against Rayo Vallecano.

Despite this setback, he made a comeback in the starting lineup against Cadiz on Sunday and showcased his prowess by contributing to a 3-0 away victory with a well-placed finish past the goalkeeper in the 74th minute.

However, Bellingham was substituted shortly afterward, and his manager, Ancelotti, acknowledged that the star player has not yet fully recuperated from his recent injury.

Addressing reporters, the Italian tactician stated, “Bellingham is doing well. He still has the lingering issue, but he is managing fine with the protective measures.”

Bellingham’s recent goal brings his total to 14 in 15 games across all competitions since joining the Bernabeu in a high-profile transfer, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 13 in the same number of matches.

The management of the 20-year-old’s injury will be a point of interest moving forward, considering he is not fully fit at the moment.

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he is set to face Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday, followed by a weekend match against Granada.

  • D-Black shares his bit of why Nigerian artistes are doing better than Ghanaian artistes

Ghanaian rapper and singer Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, widely known as D-Black, attributes the greater success of Nigerian artists compared to their Ghanaian counterparts to their business-oriented approach.

He observes that Nigerian artists prioritize the business side of the industry, while many Ghanaian artists create music primarily for the love of the art.

Speaking in a recent episode of The Afrobeats Podcast, D-Black said, “Why Nigerian records are flying higher than the Ghanaian ones is because Ghanaian artists don’t really care about the money.

“They don’t care about the business. It’s just the love of art that overpowers everything. There’s really no business behind it.

“BET nomination, all the accolades, I made no money. But as soon as I switched to the commercial mood of Afrobeats, I bought my Ferrari and Range Rover. I was everywhere.

He emphasised that relying solely on talent is insufficient and suggested that artists should utilise social media to amplify the business aspect of their craft.

“Artistes and creatives need to understand that music alone is not enough. You need to get up and grind. You need to take advantage of social media to promote your craft.”
